Just finalized the design for my Victorian-era (1870's) Loki! Spent most of the day sketching out the plans and playing around with the concepts and shapes. For the shoulder pauldron, I'm still considering my options. Right now, I'm thinking of having the top piece of it be gold with a black lace overlay, and then the secondary section being a gold ruffle that matches the color of the rest of the ruffles and gold trim. That'll probably be one of the last pieces I make, so I've got some (very little) time to plan it out. The bodice is going to be hell to sew, especially since this will only be the second bodice I've ever made before, and the first boned/interlined one. Also, I spent six hours working on drawing the designs instead of sewing, so that's super cool. I have to have this entire thing done by 6/1, which is in 14 days. Oof.

Had to do one inspired by the iconic Djurdjevic cover of Lady Loki in her Wanda disguise, not only because, well, it's me, but because I wanted to reclaim the narrative of Lady Loki herself, who is often weighed down by transphobic optics. In the years since, Loki has grown into a much more authentic, earnest representation of genderfluidity. As a genderfluid person (and a Rom) revisiting both that early exploration of Loki's femininity and her impersonation of Wanda was a lot of fun.
