The campus of Longowal Group of Colleges, Derabassi was thumping with excitement and vibrating with folk music as the college celebrated the festival of Lohri with much exuberance and religious fervour on 13- Jan-2025.
The students, faculty all were clad in the festive spirit and had gala time at the celebrations. Dr. Kapil Katyal (Vice-Chairperson) and Dr. Vinod Katyal ( Secretary) lit the sacred fire to initiate the celebrations and made students aware about the special significance associated with the festival.
Mrs. Kanta Katyal (Chairperson) showered her blessings over students and staff. The students performed Bhangra, Giddha and Punjabi folk dances and reverberant the atmosphere with zeal and enthusiasm. Everyone present enjoyed on the tunes of Dhol and Punjabi folksongs. Peanuts, popcorn and sweets were handed out to the great delight of everyone.
Principal Dr. Rosy Katyal addressed the students and stressed on imbibing the ageless cultural values and infusing true spirit of festivals among the students. Mrs. Sakshi Katyal (HT&TPO) extended warm wishes to all on the auspicious occasions of Lohri, and Makar Sankranti .
