The thing about Kevin and Thea for me is that the relationship is probably the first thing in Kevin's life that he got to actively chose. Like Thea didn't have any connections to the Moriyama's besides being a raven. She didn't have any stake in the game. There were no expectations that he had to be anything he was not. Thea was just a slightly older teammate who was just as passionate about exy as he was, and who bothered to look at him long enough to see past the son-of-exy of it all.

There's something so inherently innocent about Kevin falling for his senior and seeking out a relationship with someone that didn't expect anything from him in return.

That's all. I just think maybe he deserves it.

i got to talk to the state agency about getting my tuition reimbursed since it's been a week since my school closed. the school itself hasn't said a word to any of the students and ive left multiple emails, i sent a message thru the system they sent us announcements through(which they stopped using for whatever reason in june), and i tried to comment on their social media but they havent been going through.

im honestly thinking about finding the personal phone number and email address of the owner and sending it to as many students as I can so we can actually get an answer. cause all of our stuff is still locked in the building and the people from the state agency said the only thing the school gave them was the roster of students, no transcripts or anything. if there's any student there who could find that info its me

perhaps i am making things 1000x harder for myself by coding this new interactive fiction project by hand instead of learning twine for it. but on the other hand. the raw thrill of figuring out how to make something work in javascript is i think probably exactly the same thing people feel when they do cocaine

piper is such an inherently fun character to think about for me.

especially during bw and his villain arc. ESPECIALLY when he's at he's peak villainy.

like YEAH he gets manipulated by team plasma into making him think people are out to ruin him and is believing in a false ideal... but he's still kind of a villain. moreso than n and hilda. like at least those two don't pretend to be people's friend nor does he try to harm them and ruin an entire wealth of childhood memories for said false ideal. he goes out of his way to throw hilbert to the wolves.

he is a victim... but just because he's a victim doesn't mean what he's done is ok.

like he is VERY self motivated in the end. he's hurting hilbert and bianca for the sake of HIS future, HIS feeling of fulfillment, HIS feeling of being alive. and like going as deep in this path as team plasma has lead him on it makes him feel so alive unlike he's ever felt before that he has. an evil villain laugh about it. when his true nature is revealed and he has his villain monologue (before the monologue about how much he hates hilbert)

He's BURNING alive compared to his ever desolate feeling of cold, empty, dead-ness.

and the fact that hilbert still loves him after everything he's done infuriates him!!! like it fills him with so much turmoil and rage it makes him see red and they INSTANTLY start a pokemon battle. i think his face would be one of those shots where the camera is just ultra focused on an anime characters eyes.

and he may try to write his wrongs but AGAIN. the damage he causes has been done. and at some point, he was willing to get even worse had it not been for the cruel wake up call given by Bianca, and of course, what happened to Hilbert.

he's just a fun guy to think of. especially when i think of what he'd be like as a villain and his true alliances gets revealed to bianca and hilbert.

Also me: I have an existential crisis every time I pull up a memory more than a year old. Did that happen or do I just think I did. The memory is all cloudy and I don’t remember any faces, the only thing I'm confident in is a vague location. Even the stories that I tell often, I only know are real because I know I've told them before. The actual core memory is lost to me painted over stroke by stroke each time I tell it. When I was 8 I spent so much time staring at photo albums and now I only remember the pictures. As an adolescent I had so much shame I prayed I’d forget everything that made me feel bad and now I don’t remember my classmates names. In high school twice I forgot my locker combination on a Wednesday. I knew it the day before and I knew it the day after. But on Wednesday I tried for ten minutes before asking the office for the code. Some memories I have are ones that I knew I didn’t have before someone told me: “Do you remember the time this happened to us?” No I didn’t. But I do now. I’ll remember your words as a picture the way you tell it. At least for now. Who knows what will happen to that memory. I forgot my locker combination on a Wednesday.
