The nevermore quiz
I appreciate the compliment... but Lenore is 6ft and I only breached above 5 by a couple inches. I'm not so sure about the charismatic and hot part, but I sure as hell am oblivious to others advances lol.

A girl once asked me for my locker code a week before vanities and I quote "for a friend" wich I found a heart shaped box of chocolates (which were my favorite kind" and a teddy bear in there and not even a week later we were doing a group project in biology in which she wrote "ILY" on my paper and my dumb ass had no idea what it meant which I only figured out after I had transferred schools T0T

The mistakes we're going to make (Jan/Jackie) - Meggie
A/N: Hey all! I had the pleasure of writing this little gem for Molly for our gc’s gift exchange. I really enjoy writing this dynamic, and I hope you all enjoy it too! Thank you to Mac, Mia, and Alex for prereading for me. Y'all are the real MVPs.
Summary: when i look at you, all i can see are the mistakes we’re going to make (the future’s so bright)
They’re graduating high school tomorrow night, but all Jan can think about is her calculus final and whether or not she can scrape by with an A.
She’s done the calculations approximately 47 times (and had Jackie check them over nine more because Jan’s shit at math now apparently), and she knows she has to make an 82 on the final to pull an A in the class. And that will get her an 89.5 which rounds to an A. She’d rather not cut it that close, thank you very much.
To anyone else, a B would not be the end of the world, but it would be Jan’s only B. Ever. To get out of high school with a perfect GPA, an unblemished transcript, a perfect record… That’s been her goal ever since she graced the hallways of R.P. Charles High School three years ago.
So after finishing Ms. West’s history final, she pulls out her calc book and dutifully studies her notes. They’re meticulous, her rounded penmanship in stark black ink. She purses her lips and wonders if she has enough time to redo them in colored ink according to her color-coding system.
Behind her, Brita mutters to herself and furiously erases a sentence in her essay. Written responses have always been her downfall. To Jan’s right, Gigi takes a mirror out of her purse and retouches her lipstick.
“Why are you studying?” Gigi whispers. “You literally just finished a test, and it’s a half day. We’re done after this.”
“Yeah, but my calc test is tomorrow, and Ms. Hytes is not as lenient a grader as Ms. West.” Jan sighs and runs a hand through her hair.
Gigi pulls a face. “God, why’d you even take calc? You didn’t need the credit.” Gigi had taken personal health instead of a math class. She said their final was about sexually transmitted infections, which apparently is the new name for sexually transmitted diseases.
Jan shrugs. “I wanted to be—”
“—valedictorian, yeah, I know,” Gigi finishes. “Well, anyway. That didn’t work out the way you planned, did it?”
At the front of the room, Ms. West clears her throat and widens her eyes at the girls. Gigi sits back in her desk and primly folds her hands. Jan is free to once again study her notes, but Gigi’s last words still sting.
She had only taken calculus because it was an AP class, guaranteed to get her extra GPA points she would need to wrap up the valedictory. What she hadn’t counted on was being terrible at calculus.
Sure, geometry hadn’t been a walk in the park, but trig had been a piece of cake. So she figured that with a little bit of extra studying, she could carve out an A and stake her claim on the title of valedictorian, something she’d wanted ever since she had learned what the valedictorian was. (Kindergarten. When her parents had taken her to see her cousin graduate. And the pretty girl at the front had gotten up to make a speech in front of all her classmates, and everyone had to pay attention to her for a whole ten minutes while she talked about things that were important to her. Jan wanted that.)
But in March after third quarter grades were calculated and the honors had been announced, she’d ended up salutatorian, literally two hundredths of a point behind Jackie Cox. It had been a two-man race between her and Jackie all throughout high school, but the difference had been that damn calculus class. Jackie had an A; Jan had a B.
Jan’s parents had doted on her just the same as they would have if she’d been valedictorian, taking her to dinner at her favorite restaurant, celebrating with cake and sparkling grape juice out of the champagne flutes usually reserved for New Year’s Eve, but Jan couldn’t help but sense a little tinge of disappointment behind their smiles. Close, but no cigar. She’d still give a speech, but it would be shorter, and no one really cared what the salutatorian had to say. She’d worked so hard for four years to achieve the top honor and now she had to stand back and watch someone else deliver her valedictory.
Even if that someone was her very close friend.
There’s a certain closeness that develops between students when you take all the same classes for four years, and Jackie Cox had been in all of Jan’s classes since freshman year. By design, their schedules had ended up being very similar. It helped that they were into the same extracurricular activities as well. They were both athletic, both involved in student government and the debate team. They even both participated in the spring musicals: Jan onstage in a lead role, Jackie backstage as part of the tech crew.
But as their friendship grew so did their rivalry, at least on Jan’s part. She’d always seen Jackie as a reminder that she had to work harder to be her best. With Jackie, everything always seemed so effortless. Her poise, her perfection, even the way she spoke and carried herself. Jan felt like she herself was constantly obsessing over everything she thought and said. When she looked at Jackie, she felt like the other girl just had a natural ease about her.
She’d tried for years to be more like Jackie. But the feeling grew especially deep after they’d received their first calculus quizzes in October and Jan’s was emblazoned with a fat, red D. Jackie’s, on the other hand, sported an A.
Ms. Hytes had asked Jan to stay behind after class so she could encourage her to either drop the class or consider hiring a tutor.
Failure was absolutely out of the question. So Jan asked for help. She asked Jackie for help.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for Jackie, she wouldn’t be pulling a B in calculus. Not at all. In fact, she probably would have failed out at semester.
So now that there’s this final that she has to prepare for, there’s only one person she trusts to help her study for it.
Jan catches Jackie in the hallway (their lockers are nowhere close because that’s the way life—and the alphabet—works, but Jan is good at getting what she wants), and asks her if she feels ready for the final tomorrow.
Jackie sighs, the exhalation blowing the dark curtain of hair off her forehead. “I mean, I think. I might look over my notes again tonight. You feel good about it?”
Jan laughs, high-pitched, a tell-tale sign of her anxiety. She hates that she wears her emotions like an oversized sweater. “No, actually. That’s kind of why I’m here.”
So anyway, that’s how they end up on Jan’s bedroom floor, calculus books open in their laps, a plate of chocolate chip cookies and glasses of Dr Pepper set aside because Jackie is a Professional when it comes to this whole studying thing.
(That’s probably why she’s the valedictorian and you’re not, a hateful, nasty voice whispers in the back of Jan’s head. Because she’s dedicated to studying and you’re worried about whether or not she likes your cookies.)
She won’t think about the fact that for the past six months, she’s also been concerned about whether or not Jackie likes her.
It’s not exactly something she’s prepared to deal with.
Jan’s dated before, of course, but they’ve always been boys. And now, all of a sudden and by some act of whatever god exists, she finds herself having a massive crush on Jackie.
So she’s bisexual. It’s fine. She’s had years to deal with this, and she’s always kind of wondered.
Honestly, she’s chalking it up to academic jealousy.
Jan just wants to be like her, that’s all. It has nothing to do with the way her long, dark hair cascades in waves down her back, or the way her eyes sparkle when she laughs, or the way Jackie had caught her backstage right before opening night of Carousel and grasped her hands and told her to break a leg and knock them dead and basically be the best Carrie anyone had ever seen before kissing her cheek.
Except it totally does.
“So to compute the three-by-three you have to multiply A by the two-by-two determinant of the matrix,” Jackie says, marking something in her notebook. “Now, how do I get that?”
“Huh?” Jan asks stupidly, brought back from her reverie by the question. “God, I’m sorry. I’m just…” She scrubs her hands down her face then immediately regrets it because her eyeliner is now definitely smeared. “I’m out of it.”
Jackie nods and presses her lips together. She breathes in quickly like she’s going to say something, but changes her mind at the last minute. She taps her pencil on her notebook.
“Sorry I’m wasting your time,” Jan says sheepishly. “You can go if you want…”
“No!” Jackie says quickly. “No, it’s not that. I just… I’m just wondering…” She sighs. “Things have been kind of weird between us ever since spring break… Since the honors were announced, and I just…” She shrugs. “I guess I just want to know if you like, hate me for being valedictorian over you.”
Jan gasps. “I could never hate you.” She hadn’t known that her disappointment was quite so palpable. Then she decides that Jackie deserves to know the absolute truth. “I was disappointed. My parents expect a lot out of me, and they… They’ve been pushing for this since, like, forever. I just didn’t want to let them down.”
Jackie’s eyes widen. “Salutatorian is letting them down?”
Jan shakes her head. “You don’t know my parents.”
“No. But I think I kind of understand. ” Jackie closes her book and pulls her knees into her chest. “You know my parents immigrated from Iran, right? So like, the American dream? That’s all they want for me. And that includes college. A good one.” She laughs. “My mom wants me to be a doctor.”
“What do you want to be?” Jan asks quietly.
Jackie’s quiet for a moment before she shakes her head. “I don’t know. I don’t think anyone’s actually asked me that before. Isn’t that wild? I’m 18, and I have no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life.”
Jan shrugs. “We’re 18. I don’t think we’re supposed to know what we want to do with the rest of our lives.”
“I know one thing I want to do, though,” Jackie says, smiling. “When I get to college, I’m going to kiss a girl. I’ve always wanted to. I mean, I know I’m gay so like. That’ll be nice.”
“You can’t do that here?”
“Are you kidding?” She scoffs. “My mother would kill me. And that’s before my dad finds out.”
Jan shrugs. “You could kiss me. If you wanted.” Her cheeks fill with color. She’s never this brash, this forward. But the opportunity had presented itself and she’d taken it. “I mean, or not. Whatever. It’s fine—”
“Jan.” Jackie’s looking at her, dark eyes narrowed as her hand creeps up to cup her chin gently, and Jan has just enough time to gasp in a shock of air before their lips meet softly, tenderly, slowly meshing together. Kissing Jackie is so much better than kissing any of the boys she’s ever dated before.
Jackie pulls away far before Jan wants her to, and she’s left wanting more. She shudders a sigh and opens her eyes slowly.
“Wow,” she says.
“Yeah,” Jackie replies, brushing the hair off her shoulders. “That was… Umm. We should probably study, though.”
“Right. Of course.” Jan blushes again. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to… Distract you.”
“Jan…” Jackie’s hand falls softly over her knee. “We can kiss more when we get through matrix determinants, okay?”
Jan isn’t sure what it is, but something about this new teaching method suddenly makes perfect sense.
She makes a 93 on her final and finishes the semester with an A.

55 on your prompt list for skylar/glaz its not my fault i ship them just as i ship skylar/tachanka
This took a little longer than expected, but if you know me than you know I write more than 1k words no matter what. You actually have no idea how happy I was to actually write about Skylar/Glaz, it was nice to get something out for these two! And I hope you enjoy this little drabble!
Prompts #55 “Shut up and kiss me already.”
Words: 2,516
Warnings: NSFW-ish
I also posted this on Ao3 and FFN
“-Valentine’s Day is an overrated holiday.” Skylar said while entering her room. Ash followed behind her, laughing. “I wouldn’t be this pissed about it if it was fun for all ages.” She sat down on her bed, setting her phone aside. “When you’re young you get to do those cute Valentine’s for your whole glass, but after that if you don’t have a significant other, you’re most likely getting bupkis.”
“Are you really this upset about being single?” Ash took a seat on her bed, removing her FBI hat and fixing her hair.
They just returned from a mission that went better than expected, even Thermite didn’t manage to fuck anything up. Skylar was in a good mood until she saw Zofia with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates in her hands, no doubt from her husband. Then it all went downhill from there.
“No I’m not upset that I’m single, I just hate that it’s kinda shoved down our throats.” She took off her hat, setting it beside her and scrubbed a hand down her face. “The only good thing about Valentine’s Day is all of the chocolate that’s going to be on sale tomorrow.”
Ash took off her aviators and looked her dead in the eyes. “Skylar, I can see right through you. You were fine until you saw Zofia, then you became a little bitchy.”
She threw her hands up in the air in defeat. “Okay maybe I am upset about being single.”
“But why? You’re out of their league anyways.”
“Thanks.” She chuckled and looked down at her hands. “It brings me back to watching my sister get a bunch of stuff from her then boyfriend, no husband growing up. She’s 12 years older than me and I guess I looked up to her too much.”
“You thought it would be the same for you, didn’t you? And when it wasn’t you got jealous.” Ash set her boots aside - grabbing her phone and leaned against her headboard, letting out a satisfied sigh.
“I was 3 when my sister started dating her husband. And every year onward I saw him bringing flowers and chocolates and card for her - yes I might have been naive to think it would be the same for me and maybe I did get jealous once I turned a teenager.” She sighed and started unlacing her purple boots. “That jealousy never lasted, and I shouldn’t be complaining about not getting a Valentine. Evan always brought me something too, whether it was a little box of chocolates or a stuffed animal. I just see how happy and in love they are, and deep down I kinda want that.”
Skylar set her boots aside and got up - walking over to her dresser. She pulled out a pair of navy blue sweats and an over-sized black t-shirt, tossing them on her bed. She turned to see Ash scrolling on through her phone.
A moment later Ash peeked up from her phone, a smirk spreading across her face. “You miss it, don’t you? Getting those little gifts from him.”
She hung her head and laughed, turning back towards her after a moment. “Yeah, I kinda do. It’s my fault though, I told him he didn’t have too, and with living so far away I didn’t want him shipping me something that could go bad or get lost in the mail.”
“Call him. Tell him you changed your mind.”
“It’s been 8 years Ash.” She walked back over to her bed, grabbing the clean pair of clothes. “He just made my birthday package a bit bigger. I’m gonna take a shower, I’ll see you later.”
                                                               xXx
After a much needed shower, Skylar made her way to her locker to put her M4 machine gun and M1911 pistol away, along with her unused grenades and flash bangs.
The locker room was rather quiet, then again it was late and everyone who had a mission probably already put their stuff away and called it a night. Upon walking up the stairs she heard Sledge talking to Thatcher about getting a beer tomorrow night. It wasn’t hard to miss either of their voices, both were always a tad bit too loud.
She made it to the top of the stairs, turning left to head to her locker. That’s when she saw them, standing outside Thatcher’s locker. It was times like these she hated having a locker next to Thatcher - not because of the man himself, she had great respect for Mike, hell she did all her recruit training with him. Just Seamus doesn’t have an indoor voice, and there were some things Skylar didn’t want to know.
“Seamus do you have to talk so loud? I heard you from the bottom of the staircase.” Skylar said with a laugh.
She walked over to her locker, punching in her code until she heard the buzzer to go in. She placed her machine gun and pistol on the bench, then went for the grenade and flash bang cases.
“Sorry love, I thought we were alone.” He walked over to her locker, standing outside it. Thatcher next to him. “Didn’t have any plans tonight?”
She set the cases down and turned to them. “Nope. I’m surprised you’re even here, I thought you would be at some pub tonight.”
“I would be if we didn’t get a last minute mission.”
“You guys too?” She flipped open her grenade case, placing them in it. “I thought the FBI were the only ones.”
“Not the case dear, we had a hit on some intel needed to get there fast.” Thatcher said. “Since you’ve already heard our plans, you’re more than welcome to join.”
“It’s good that your mission went well. And yeah I’d love too, a few drinks wouldn’t hurt.”
Seamus quirked a confused brow, tapping his fingers on the metal touchpad. “How’d you know the mission went well?”
Skylar placed her machine gun on it’s rack and laughed. “I’ve been on enough missions with Mike to know when something has gone his way or not. I can tell by the tone of his voice.”
He nodded his head in agreement, watching her put her unused flash bangs in it’s case. “Sometimes I think you’re the only that can - beside Mark, James and I.”
“You guys do know you can come in right?” She chuckled as she heard him open the locker door while she placed her pistol on its rack. “Well I can’t speak for anyone but myself. I’m the newest member and I figured him out relatively quickly, if other operators haven’t, it’s because they don’t want too. And that’s their problem.”
“Good point love.”
She grabbed her grenade and flash case, putting them back on the shelf. “Also how many people on this team have some sort of special gadget? Like more than half, that’s a small percentage that still use just plain old fashion weaponry. If they couldn’t use their special gadgets for some reason, then Thatcher would be right. And I don’t think they want that.”
“Are you saying technology has taken over the military?” Seamus said letting out a laugh.
“Not really, yes some technology has helped us and whatnot. But when you put to much faith in a robot to do your job, then what are you going to do when you can’t use it? I’ve done things more quickly and laid out more damage with a flash bang and my pistol than any other technological gadget.”
Thatcher walked over to a shelf on the other side of her locker, grabbing her ka-bar knife. “Technology can lag, go out or the enemy can hack us. A six inch blade never loses reception.”
“I’m not sure if she’s a female version of you Mike or if you should marry her.” Seamus crossed his arms, watching Thatcher set down the knife.
Skylar stood their kind of awkwardly, fiddling with the hem of her shirt. She wasn’t sure if she should say something sarcastic or not to make it less awkward. Thatcher walked to the locker door, turning back to them.
“She deserves someone with less baggage.” He opened the door, stepping out. “I have a bunch of paperwork to do, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”
“Okay, night Mike.”
“Night Skylar.”
Skylar yawned and stretched her arms over her head. “I think I’m gonna grab a snack and watch some netflix before passing out. I’m tired.”
“Mmm, I’m gonna give my girl a polishing before hitting the sack myself. Night Skylar.”
“Night Seamus.”
                                                                xXx
Skylar was walking down the hall with a bag of chips and a water in one hand, her phone in the other. She was scrolling through netflix, browsing which movie she wanted watch before bed. Nothing was catching her attention, and most seemed to b-rated for her liking.
Turning the corner she looked up when she heard another pair of feet walking along the linoleum flooring. Making eye contact with Glaz, she stopped and quirked a brow when she saw he had flowers in his hand. He tried hiding the flowers behind his back - he sighed in defeat, knowing she saw them and walked over to her.
“I didn’t know you were seeing anyone Glaz.” Skylar locked her phone - sliding it into her pocket.
“I’m…..not. If everything goes well, I hope to be.” He looked down at the flowers, then back towards her.
“Oh, do you mind if I ask who they’re for?” She looked down at the flowers, a smile gracing her face. “Peach roses are my favorite kind of rose.”
“I know, because they’re for you!” He held out the flowers, a sheepish grin on his face.
She looked up at him, mouth slightly gaping. “Glaz….I I wasn’t expecting this, but thank you! The flowers are beautiful!”
She took them from his hand, bringing them up to her nose to smell them. They were in perfect blume, meaning he picked them up today.
“You’re welcome!” He rubbed the back of his neck, looking away from her. “Skylar, there’s been something I’ve wanted to ask you and I should’ve done it weeks ago like Alex said. But I kept chickening out and I wasn’t sure if you felt the same way…”
“Timur, shut up and kiss me already!”
Glaz went quiet, looking down at her with a big smile on his face. His hands cupped her cheeks, gently leaning down until their lips met. Skylar wrapped her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss, bothing humming into it. He pulled away after a moment, resting their foreheads together as they both tried to catch their breath.
“I take it this means you’ll go out with me?”
She pulled back to get a better look at him. It was cute to see how flustered he was. “I would love to go out with you Timur!”
“Now I’m really happy I finally found the courage to ask you.” He chuckled. “What were you doing anyways? I wasn’t expecting to see you walking around this late.”
“Getting a snack before heading to room to watch some netflix. You’re welcome to join.”
Glaz intertwined their hands together, slowly walking towards the dorms. “We could go to my room, we’ll have more privacy.”
“Maxim isn’t there?”
“No, he’s out with Alex and Shuhrat. They’ll be gone until morning.”
“Then yeah, let’s go.” They took a few steps before she stopped. “Wait, let me grab something to put the flowers in. I don’t want them dying overnight.”
Skylar headed back towards the rec-room with Glaz for a cup large enough to hold the two dozen peach roses. After some rummaging around she finally found a large enough cup - filling it halfway with water and setting it on the table.
Glaz was cutting off the stems to make sure they would fit better, and one by one they filled the cup. Once their mess was cleaned up they headed towards Glaz’s room.
                                                                   xXx
They were both snuggled up to each other under the blanket watching some ridiculous movie. Both of them knew from the get-go that it was going to be stupid, still they couldn’t pull their eyes away. Besides the movie, there was something else on Skylar’s mind.
She trailed her hand down his torso, feeling his white cotton shirt beneath her finger tips. Smirking when she heard him gasp as her hand went under the band of his sweatpants, cupping his growing arousal.
She gave him a small squeeze, hearing him grunt in return. Taking his semi-hard cock in her hands, she began stroking him - watching him grip the sheet and breath heavily through his nose. After a few more strokes, Glaz leaned forward, pausing the movie, shutting the laptop and placing it on the floor.
The next moment Glaz was on top of her, kisses and nipping at her neck. “Yebat’ fil’m, ya khochu tebya, ya khochu vsekh vas.”
                                                                   xXx
The morning sun peeked through the curtains, Glaz pulled Skylar closer to him, nuzzling his face in her chestnut brown hair. Last night felt like a dream and he was afraid he would wake up alone. He was thankful that wasn’t the case.
Skylar started to stir, slowly waking up herself. He kissed her cheek, making her giggle.
“Morning beautiful!”
She turned turned around to face him, tiredness still showing in her eyes. “Morning handsome!”
“Did you sleep well?” He wrapped his arms around her again, pulling her to his chest and kissing her forehead.
“Like a baby.” She chuckled. “How did you sleep?”
“A lot better with you in my arms.”
“Awe, that’s sweet!”
She began to close her eyes again, hoping to get a little bit more sleep. Groaning when she heard the door open. Eyes snapping open when she remembered she wasn’t in her room and the person walking in wasn’t Ash. She slowly lifted her head, making sure the blanket was covering her whole body before looking at the door.
Letting out a small whine when she saw Maxim and Alex standing in the doorway, both with a gaping smile on their faces. She groaned into the pillow, covering her head with the blanket.
“About damn time you two got together.” Alex said a moment later.
Skylar sat up, making sure the blanket didn’t fall down. “This is awkward.”
Glaz sighed and sat up, shooting a glare at Alex. “Do you guys mind giving us some privacy? I don’t think she wants to get dressed with two other men in the room.”
“No, no take your time, you know where the condoms are.” Maxim said as he started pushing Alex out of the room and shutting the door behind him.
Skylar and Glaz looked at each other, both shaking their heads and laughing about the whole situations.
“Ya khochu detali Timur.” Alex yelled from outside the door.
She looked over at Glaz, seeing his face turn red and a hand scrub down his face. Whatever Alex said wasn’t good on his end, and to see the slightly older man flustered again made her smile.

stuttering (malec highschool au)
alec lightwood trembled with anxiety no matter what he was doing, with the exceptions being being curled up with a book on his favorite bench that was attached to a tree and only a foot off the ground. it was in the center of his mother's garden, surrounded by beautiful flowers and pathways that lead around the garden and back to his family's extravagant home. the only other time where he felt safe was with his family. his sister, isabelle, was always by his side. she was far more confident than he ever could be, and he looked up to her, even though she is a couple years younger than him. despite how close the two are, they were two completely different people. alec was more reserved and shy and would spend his weekends reading and scrolling through aesthetics on tumblr, while izzy was confident and extroverted and would spend almost every weekend hosting parties, which alec would escape once everyone arrived to read at his favorite bench. alec walked downstairs one morning, ready for school. despite the slightly warm weather, he was sporting a pale green sweater that went halfway down his hands, black skinny jeans, and black combat boot. his hair was messy, yet well kept at the same time, and his leather backpack hung over his right shoulder. in his left hand held his copy of roar, a book he had recently decided to invest his time in. isabelle was sat at the breakfasts bar, her long hair cascading down her back with slight curls here and there. she was wearing black, leather pants that stuck to her skin, a black mesh t-shirt with a black tank too underneath so she wouldn't get dress-coded, and boots with a four inch heel. she must have heard alec come downstairs, as she turned to face him with a smile. "hey big bro," she greeted before she took another spoonful of her fruit parfait. he walked over to her and set his book down on the marble counter top. "did you sleep okay?" alec asked his sister, always concerned about isabelle. she knew it was for the best. "i slept just fine, but i should be asking you the same question," the dark haired girl retorted, licking her spoon clean of greek yogurt and honey. "i got enough hours to be well rested," alec replied, following his sister with his eyes as she rinsed her bowl and spoon and stuck them in the silver dishwasher, which was currently empty. "i hope you did. i left my backpack down here last night which had unfinished homework in it, and i walked past your room at around midnight and the light was still on," she asserted as she walked back toward alec, picking up her maroon colored backpack from underneath the chair she was sitting on. alec looked down at his book and picked it up, and he was well over halfway through it. "i guess i can get a little bit carried away." "hm," isabelle muttered in disbelief. "a little bit? how many books have you read this week?" "three, this being my fourth." isabelle shook her head. "not a surprise coming from you, alec." the pair walked past the luxurious living room and to the front door, which lacked the presence of their parents who would sit there every morning when the siblings came down for breakfast. marsye would be on her computer and robert would be on the phone, usually on a business call. "good thing mom and dad are off on another business trip," isabelle commented. "how come?" alec questioned stupidly, knowing the answer he would get right after he asked. "i'm throwing a party this weekend, as per usual. maybe you will want to come this time," isabelle explained as he held the front door for her, and they exited the house for alec to lock the front door. "and why is that?" the tall and lean boy wondered, knowing her answer would not make him want to attend anyway. "im inviting magnus." alec stopped dead in his tracks on his way toward isabelle's car. alec had a crush on magnus bane since the two were freshmen, and it made alec more jittery and anxious than normal. seeing him in the hallway made his breathing patterns change rapidly and watching him enter a room made his heart skip multiple beats. he tried not to stare, but it's hard not to when the most beautiful man that he had ever seen was in this presence. his outfits and makeup always brought out his features that made him look even more gorgeous, and he really took alec's breath away. but he knew he never had a chance with him. magnus was like izzy: extroverted, filled with confidence, and knows exactly what to say all the time. alec knew that he would say the wrong thing or do something ridiculous that would push magnus away. so he kept his opinions to himself. the only person who knew was isabelle, who he felt comfortable telling a year and a half after he first saw magnus. "m-magnus?" alec stuttered. "yes magnus. now come on, you don't want to be late for school, now do you?" alec shook his head and walked quickly to his sister's white car. he climbed in the passenger's seat and took his backpack off to set it at his feet. izzy did the same, but tossed her bag into the back. alec rubbed his thumbs over the cover of his book, anxious to see magnus today. if magnus knows izzy, he must know alec. what does he think of him? he probably thinks he's a weird outcast. alec hopes that this thought is wrong. he wants to cuddle with magnus in the early hours of the morning while they talk about everything and anything. he wishes they could go on dates in his mother's garden and sit on alec's favorite bench under the stars. he hopes that magnus would run his fingers up and down alec's inner arm when he is having an anxiety attack. nothing could calm him down more then his touch. he just knew it. the rest of the ride to school was silent, and alec continued to nervously tap on his book. when they arrived at their large highschool, alec grabbed his backpack and climbed out of the car, waiting for his sister to grab her bag. they met in front of her car and walked into school, side by side. many people greeted and waved to izzy, and she greeted and waved back at them, with a large grin on her face. alec sometimes wishes that she was taller than him so he could hide behind her. alec didn't have to stop to his locker, since he had everything that he needed for the day with him in his backpack. so today he followed izzy to her locker. hopefully she wouldn't mind him wanting to stick around. he would rather stay by her side then have to roam the halls alone. he stood next to her as she opened her locker and pulled out two textbooks, one for algebra and one for chemistry. she put them into her bag and closed her locker, only to find a very glittery individual standing next to the pair. alec didn't see him at first, but when he did, he could feel a heat brushed upon his cheeks. his heartbeats quickened, and he had to think to catch his breath. next to isabelle stood magnus. he was wearing black trousers, sleek, black platform boots with a one inch raise, and a blazer that was covered in silver sequins. he had a glittery, smokey eye look done precisely on his eyelids, and alec could tell that magnus had on a bit of purple highlighter on his cheekbones, nose, and above his eyebrows, which were done as well. alec must have been staring a bit too intently, as he felt izzy's finger push up on his chin to close his mouth. alec felt his face go from a rosy pink to a beet red. "isabelle, so good to see you. is the party at your house still at eight tonight?" magnus confirmed with izzy. she nodded. "mhm-hm! and it ends whenever the guests want it to." magnus grinned at alec's sister, and she beamed in return. alec looked down at his boots, wiggling his toes a little bit. "great! will you be there?" he heard magnus ask. "obviously! it's my party, magnus," izzy exclaimed. "i know you are going to be there, isabelle. i meant your brother. will he be there?" alec looked up. magnus was looking at alec with those chocolate brown eyes that were covered in glitter that shared the color of the moon. alec didn't know what to do. should he say something? should he nod? should he confess his undying love to this man? (he didn't, of course.) alec stood there, completely in awe of magnus, and shaky because he didn't know what to do. izzy placed a hand on his shoulder. "he will definitely be there, right alec?" she replied in favor of alec gently. alec quickly nodded and magnus smiled. "can't wait to see you two there tonight!" he exclaimed just before we walked off to reunite with his other friends, who alec believed had the names of ragnor and catarina. alec looked at his sister, who looked just as normal as ever. "hey, you alright?" izzy asked her brother with concern in her voice. alec nodded, still lost for words and quickly shaking and trying to catch his breathe. he held his book to his chest and tapped his foot on the ground, trying to cope with what he was experiencing. this wasn't the worst it has been, however. "want me to walk you to class?" isabelle asked him. without hesitation, he nodded, and the pair walked toward alec's creative writing class. ---------- alec was sat at the breakfast bar, reading quietly when the doorbell rang. he jumped ever so slightly at the sudden noise and knew that those were the first quests at isabelle's party. he cringed as he heard their unpleasant voices from outside their estate. isabelle had just finished putting the last of the snacks on the bar when she walked over to the door, her heels clicking on the hardwood flooring. she had changed her outfit, and now she was wearing a tight, velvet red dress that had ruffled sleeves on the arm rather than on the shoulder. she shoes were black stilettos with a four inch heel, similar to the ones she was wearing earlier. she opened the door and guests cane flooding in. alec quickly retreated to the stairs with his book, gripping onto it tightly. he sat with his back against a wall where not many people would be able to spot him. he nervously tapped his foot before sighing heavily and continuing his book. as time passed and more pages were read, the noise coming from downstairs increased more and more. alec knew he couldn't stay here much longer. he needed to get to his bench. alec could either go up to his room and attempt to climb out of a window to avoid being seen, or he could quickly make his way past people and run outside in only a few seconds. he decided against the option that might kill him and breathed heavily before he held his book to his chest and made his way down the stairs. the entire first floor was filled with people. people dancing, people talking, people making out. it was already way too much for alec. alec took a deep breath and walked down the last step, immediately almost running into someone. all alec needed to do was to get to the kitchen side door that lead to marsye's garden. he slid past people with drinks and food in their hands. he apologized when he bumped into people, and he tried to avoid eye contact with those he didn't know. "hey lightwood! join us," alec heard a rough voice say to his left. he turned to see the boy that just spoke to him along with four other boys and five girls. they sat in a circle around and on the counter, and there was an empty glass bottle laying on it's side in the middle of the circle. alec shook his head and left the situation quickly. alec had reached the door, and gripped onto the knob with happiness and relief. he turned it and pushed open the door, taking in the sweet smell of evening air. before he closed the door behind him, he swore he heard his sister calling out his name from inside. it couldn't have been important. alec walked on the gravel paths of his mother's garden until he reached his bench swing. he smiled to himself as he turned the gas lamps on and sat down under the stars, book it hand. about thirty seconds later, he heard the distant sound of the kitchen side door open and close. someone had followed him out here. hopefully they won't convince me to do anything stupid, thought alec, as he flipped the page of his book. "alexander!" he heard someone call out. he looked up to see magnus, waving at him. alec blushed and returned with a small wave. nobody has ever called him alexander except for his family, and it made butterflies flip in his stomach as he said it. magnus started making his way over to alec. "mind if i sit?" magnus asked. alec shook his head and magnus smiled, sitting next to the boy. magnus had changed as well, as now he was wearing a gold jacket that covered a black button up, and black pants with gold linings, and the same shoes. his makeup had much more glitter than before, and his beauty blew alec away. "is everything alright? i saw you run out of the party. you seemed in a hurry," magnus implied. "um, i, uh, just-" "it's alright, alexander. you don't have to answer," magnus replied soothingly, rubbing his hand on alec's left shoulder. alec tensed up at the unfamiliar touch, but melted soon after, realizing how soft and comforting magnus's touch felt. alec didn't know what to do, until he sub-consciously burst into tears. magnus broke, and put his arms around alec's slim figure. "talk to me, alexander." and he did. he told magnus about his anxiety and how much it caused him to be scared and to fear so many things and how it made him wish someone was there for him all the time. magnus let go of alec, who just had tears rolling down his face now. no whimpering or sobbing; just a silent cascade of tears. magnus brought alec's face in his hands, and wiped away a few tears. magnus was about to close the gap between them, but alec beat him to it. he had a chance, and for someone who is afraid of so much, he took it when he never thought he would have the chance to. they kissed under the night sky and the gas lamps that helped them see each other. the varieties of light brought out the best features in both of them, and they never wanted to leave the warmth of each other, ever. ---------- should i make a part 2? let me know!!!
