Location-Based Selling: Harnessing Geographic Data for Sales Optimization
In the dynamic world of sales and marketing, precision is paramount. Understanding your customers, their preferences, and their geographical context can make all the difference in crafting successful strategies. This is where location-based selling comes into play – a strategy that leverages geographic data to optimize sales efforts, enhance customer engagement, and drive business growth.
Write to us at [email protected] to learn more about how location-based selling leverages geographic data to optimize sales efforts, enhance customer engagement, and drive business growth.
The Power of Location: Beyond Borders and Boundaries
Location is more than just a point on a map; it's a goldmine of insights waiting to be tapped. With the proliferation of smartphones and other digital devices, location-based data has become increasingly accessible and valuable. By harnessing this data, businesses can tailor their approaches, offer targeted solutions, and create more meaningful interactions.
Understanding Location-Based Selling
Personalization at its Best: Location-based selling allows businesses to personalize their offerings based on customers' specific needs and preferences in different geographic regions. This level of personalization enhances customer experiences and boosts conversion rates.
Geo-Fencing for Precision: Geo-fencing involves creating virtual boundaries around specific locations. Businesses can trigger targeted notifications or offers when customers enter these boundaries, creating real-time engagement opportunities.
Local Marketing Advantage: Location-based selling empowers businesses to create hyper-local marketing campaigns that resonate with specific regions' cultural nuances and trends.
Optimizing Resources: With location-based insights, sales teams can allocate resources more effectively by targeting areas with high potential and tailoring their pitches accordingly.
Data as the Foundation
The foundation of location-based selling is data that provides insights into consumer behavior, demographics, spending patterns, and even foot traffic. The following data sources are commonly used to drive location-based strategies:
Mobile App Data: Apps that request location permission provide valuable data on users' movements, preferences, and behaviors.
Social Media Check-Ins: Platforms like Facebook and Instagram allow users to "check in" at specific locations, providing businesses with information on customer presence.
Online Searches: Search engines process a vast amount of location-specific queries daily, offering insights into what customers are looking for in a specific area.
Purchase Histories: Transaction data combined with geographic information gives businesses a clear picture of popular products or services in different regions.
Crafting an Effective Location-Based Strategy
Segmentation Based on Location: Divide your target audience into segments based on geographic data. This allows you to create tailored messaging and offers that resonate with specific regions.
Real-Time Engagement: Geo-fencing enables real-time engagement. When customers are physically near your store or location, you can send them notifications or offers to encourage immediate action.
Localized Content: Create content that speaks to specific areas' local culture, language, and trends. This approach fosters a stronger emotional connection with customers.
Analyzing Patterns: Regularly analyze location-based data to identify trends and opportunities. Adjust your strategies based on these insights to ensure ongoing success.
Success Stories: Location-Based Selling in Action
Major retailers, restaurants, and even online platforms have successfully utilized location-based selling to boost sales. The impact has been profound, whether it's offering location-specific discounts, sending personalized recommendations, or tailoring ads to a local audience.
In Conclusion: Powering Sales Through Location Insights
Location-based selling is not just about making sales; it's about building meaningful connections with customers. By understanding their geographic context, preferences, and needs, businesses can create strategies that resonate on a personal level. In a world where customers seek relevance and convenience, location-based selling offers a powerful tool for businesses to stand out, optimize their efforts, and create exceptional customer experiences. Embrace the power of geographic data and open the door to a new era of sales optimization and customer engagement.

how to find the right app for the right story?
About the research on mobile technology for storytelling and being there.
As Mobile City Dialogue explorers, storytellers, artists and media makers, Sander, Klasien and I are looking for apps that do the opposite of the situation above, apps that don’t suck you out of your moment, but make you more aware of the situation, the environment you are in or the people you are with.
The problem There are over more than 3 million apps around (and counting) and we are interested in this niche of niches: apps that can be used by storytellers, apps that bring you together with the people around you, apps that teaches you something about the place you are at.
How to find the best examples? The right app or technology for the right story at the right moment?
There are a lot of apps to make you more aware of the world around you. But where are they?
How We’ve set up a research project to go and meet people in New York, Canada and Amsterdam to figure this out. We do expert meetings, presentations and workshops, to share experiences with storytellers, app makers, digital journalists and media makers. Check out the results of our presentation at the Northside festival and our expert meeting in New York here. We asked the audience if they knew the apps we also mention here on this site and only two people raised their hands... Pretty clear that there is some work to be done!
Results The results you will find on this blog, a post per app, with a short description, it’s characteristics and when and where it’s best to use. Also we will add user experiences. We will map it all in one big flow chart and create different ‘recipes’.
Join the quest We invite you to tell us your experiences and we’ll put in on the map. Send us a message at join at mobilecitydialogues dot com or take part in our questionnaire at appherenow.com

Browze.co – connect with customers
‘Simple ain’t simple’ – my professor to me
Browze.co is our attempt in creating something that solves a fundamental problem of wastage in food industry. Even though browze is a general platform that let’s user create location aware services, jobs, digital classifieds, yard sales or open houses.
Creating something as broad as this, has its definite pitfalls, we tend to get lost easily. Sometimes, we are not even sure where to begin with, what problems to address, and how to best address them when we are completely unaware of the ways business is conducted in real time.
Browze fits perfectly for a food truck, and sitting in a cubicle, making broad generalizations could be fallacious, and it often is. So we spoke to people running food trucks and those running coffee carts. We even spoke to restaurant and café owners. We went back the drawing board made changes to our application and the website, and tailored the food category to the benefit of food service business owners.
Key features include
1. Location updates
2. Build user following
3. Multiple menus with multiple timings and days.
Each of the key feature would be discussed in details in the coming days, and we would start adding demos to it.

Browze.co – sweet like candy
‘Kindness is like candy; it makes life taste a little sweeter’ – Guru Cingh
Browze.co – real time location aware community noticeboard to advertise, promote, sell, spread and share information about your business, services, lost dog, yard sale or simply to sell off your used computer and phone.
I am going to change the strategy, if you may call it one, and introduce you to one of the redeeming features of browze.co – Deals and Discounts.
Prologue
As a businessman I have always believed that wastage is sin, but I would never add a cost to wastage and pass it on as savings to the customer. We simply end up increasing our normal costs. Towards the end of the day, I would simply like to sell whatever is left, and nothing else beyond that.
The browze solution
Browze.co lets you create a deal or a discount for your perishable at any moment for any reason and without any middle man. You do not have to predefine anything; you simply sell whatever is going to waste, at whatever price you choose, or you could give it free to the charity vans that collect food for the homeless.
It could be muffins that would rot till the next day or rooms in a motel. The idea is to reduce wastage and not pay commissions, fees or percentages to an external entity, also called the grim reapers.
Additionally, you do not have to run discounts during peak hours. Why would you?
This is how you do it
1. Goto https://browze.co/
2. Sign up and login
3. Create a deal by selecting the “Instant Deal” option.

the browze of it all
‘browze.co is a multidimensional platform for business, services, gigs, mobile catering business and for deals & discounts.’ Rev. Guru Cingh
Welcome to browze.co – real-time, location-aware community noticeboard.
That is our pick up line but where do we go from there. This is something I have been wondering. What is my next stop from here? How do we spread awareness about a platform that connects people like never before and that too without charging commission or a fee?
This blog is not just about writing content for awareness. It does serve that purpose. But it is also my catharsis. This is how I track my journey through the thick and thin of creating something you truly believe in.
Hence a little brief once again is in the offing.
1. Location Aware – Anything and everything you create on browze is location aware for you to connect for intended purposes.
2. Real Time – the user defines the time of engagement and the system obeys the users’ commands.
3. Instant connectivity – online chat and messaging system to communicate easily with other users.
These are the features that form the bedrock of our platform.
Using these three basic options, you can build free advertisement of your services, posts, yard sales, food trucks, anything and everything that has variance in location and time.
Curate browze to suit your own requirements.
