Mumbai, the bustling financial capital of India, is a city of stark contrasts. From Powai to Sanpada residential property and among the towering skyscrapers and the vivacious street life, you can find pockets of opulence and elegance that define the top 5 posh localities in this dynamic metropolis. Here, luxury isn't just a way of life; it's a culture in itself.
i love mumbai locals. you just see so many people there, coexisting, living. there's the tired teacher, gently arguing with a parent in hushed whispers about why there was a complaint about their child. there's the make-up artist, checking up on her brushes before her next stint. there's students, giggling wth friends or sitting quietly after a long day of classes. there's a young lady who knits, colourful yarn spread across her lap without anybody complaining. there are toddlers who are seeing the world for the first time and crying babies that everyone gathers to console. there's a devotee of krishna, dressed in chaniya choli with her beautiful jewelery and face painted, there are no judging glances, everyone compliments her. there's the mother with a job, talking to her child in the time she can squeeze. there's the old woman with gajra and flowers and the man selling earrings. there is so much diversity and so many languages and so many cultures, all together in one place. and no matter how crowded it is and how uncomfortable it gets, there is always, always place for you.
She flew around and around a great brown wall having no idea why. The wall was huge - she, from her infinitesimal height, couldn't figure out where it began and where it would end. She just knew that there was a wall and she needed to keep flying around it.
Would she fall if she stopped flying? That was a frightening theory to test. Down below was an infinite ocean with a seabed of cement. Multiple organisms sailed over its tides and beneath the surface. She had no intention of interacting with any of them, however, because that would mean flying away from the wall, from familiarity.
Continuing with her routine, she willed all questions out of her mind and flew. Questions, she was quick to discover, were her worst enemy. Sometimes they'd lead to worlds no one wished to be trapped in. Sometimes they'd challenge what little knowledge you had of your own world, making you go around and around in circles, wondering how you got there.
Anyway, it's not like flying around a wall was the only thing she knew. She was aware that her name began with an A, she'd devour a good plate of surmai fry on Sundays, and that she was once a frequent traveller aboard the Western Rail branch of the Mumbai Local. Thinking about those days made her nostalgic somewhat, as if she were no longer young and beautiful.
But that's the question, right? It's like her days aboard the Local and her days flying around a wall are separated by a thick fog. The more she tried to remember, the more she'd tremble and want to scream, then figure she couldn't scream and suffer in agony.
She was going to keep flying forever if something hadn't made her stop in her tracks as soon as she laid eyes on it. There was a differential equation question engraved right there on the wall. And that's where the paradoxes begin - questions were her worst enemy but also her dearest friend.
Well, one thing was for certain - she didn't fall when she stopped flying.

Author's Note: okay I was sort of impatient and wanted to post this here asap. Anyway, you've met one of my two main characters here. Is she a human? Well, you'll just have to wait and find out. And that wall she's flying around? I'll reveal that it's actually a gate (a pretty famous one - love and cookies to anyone who gets it right). The chapters will be much longer than this - especially the later ones. Chapter One shall be out this Sunday at midnight!
Comments are the true reason why plants make oxygen. They're stored in a little corner of the chloroplast, preferring to remain low-key therefore the thylakoids have no idea of their existence. Or basically, I'm high and would really love to know what you guys think of this.
do you like beaches or mountain? because i will pull you closer everytime there's an announcement in metro or local train about taking care of your belongings but beaches are fine too
You choose your train, and yes, you have a destination, but don't overlook the halts at every station on the way. Those 2 minute halts where you see a group people around the vada pav stall or tourists huddled on a phone, figuring out which direction to go. Those 2 minute halts where you see a couple holding hands, talking, smiling or a group of students discussing their results, afraid or excited to go home.
The train moves leaves each station and moves on its set path, with the usual shakes and turbulence, only pausing for those 2 minute halts. Halts which change the landscape, halts which are changing landscapes.
Take the slow train, halt more often. Take the slow train, you'll still reach your destination. Take the slow train, it's 10 minutes and 20 smiles extra.
hey is it just me or does SRK turn every speech he gives in a film into either 1. a love confession, 2. a motivational message or 3. the most devastating/terrifying news you've ever heard come out of his mouth at any given time
