When customers or clients enter your business, the first impression they get can significantly influence their perception of your brand. A well-designed lobby sign is a powerful tool that sets the tone for the entire experience. Whether you're looking to create a professional, modern, or welcoming atmosphere, lobby signs in Kansas City can help elevate your brand’s image and make a lasting impression.
In this blog, we’ll explore the importance of lobby signs, the different types you can choose from, and how working with a professional sign company in Kansas can ensure your sign reflects your business's values.
Why Lobby Signs Matter
Lobby signs are more than just functional – they serve as a key element in your branding strategy. They’re the first thing people see when they enter your business, and they speak volumes about your company. Well-designed lobby signs provide a sense of professionalism, credibility, and attention to detail that helps your clients and customers feel more confident in doing business with you.
First Impressions: Your lobby sign is often the first thing clients and visitors will see, setting the tone for their entire visit. Whether you’re running a corporate office, a healthcare facility, or a retail store, your lobby sign helps create an inviting and organized space.
Brand Identity: A custom lobby sign helps reinforce your brand identity. By incorporating your logo, business colors, and fonts, you ensure that your sign complements your brand’s image and speaks to your core values.
Wayfinding: In large offices or buildings, lobby signs can also serve as a wayfinding tool, guiding visitors to the right area or department. Directional signage within the lobby ensures visitors don’t get lost, improving their overall experience.
Aesthetic Appeal: A stunning lobby sign can also enhance the aesthetic appeal of your space. It adds character and sophistication, showing that you care about your surroundings and your clients’ experience. Whether you opt for sleek, modern designs or a more classic approach, your sign contributes to the ambiance of your office.
Types of Lobby Signs to Consider
There are many different styles of lobby signs in Kansas, each of which can give your business a unique look and feel. Here are a few popular types:
1. Acrylic Lobby Signs
Acrylic signs are one of the most popular choices for lobby signage. Their sleek and modern look can give your space a sophisticated and polished feel. Acrylic is also highly customizable, allowing you to incorporate your company logo, colors, and text in a variety of ways. Whether you choose a clear, frosted, or colored acrylic sign, it will add an elegant touch to your lobby.
2. Metal Lobby Signs
If you’re looking for a more industrial or bold appearance, metal signs are a great option. Materials like brushed aluminum, stainless steel, or bronze can create a durable and timeless look. Metal lobby signs are often used in corporate offices, law firms, and tech companies due to their clean, professional appearance.
3. Dimensional Letter Signs
For a 3D effect, dimensional letter signs are a popular choice. These signs make your logo or company name stand out, adding depth and texture to your lobby space. Whether you opt for acrylic, metal, or foam, dimensional letters are sure to make an impact.
4. LED Illuminated Signs
If you want to add a touch of innovation and visibility, consider LED-lit lobby signs. These illuminated signs are perfect for creating a modern and eye-catching effect. Whether it’s your logo, company name, or slogan, backlit or front-lit LED signs will ensure your brand is seen, even in low-light conditions.
5. Wooden Lobby Signs
For businesses that want a warm, inviting, and rustic feel, wooden signs are an excellent choice. These can be made from a variety of woods and stained or painted in any color that complements your space. Wooden signs are often used in businesses that prioritize eco-friendly materials or those in industries like hospitality, restaurants, and boutique retail.
6. Wall Murals
While not a traditional lobby signs, wall murals or graphics can act as both a branding tool and an artistic feature. Wall murals can include your logo, company mission, or images that reflect your brand’s story. This type of signage can transform your lobby and provide a memorable first impression for guests.
How to Choose the Right Lobby Sign for Your Business
Choosing the right lobby sign for your business requires considering several factors. Here are a few tips to help guide you in the decision-making process:
1. Consider Your Brand Identity
Your lobby sign should be an extension of your brand. Consider your company’s values, target audience, and visual identity when selecting materials, fonts, and colors. The right sign should reflect who you are and what you do.
2. Think About the Space
The size of your lobby and the space available for signage will influence the type of sign you choose. Smaller spaces may benefit from sleek, minimalist designs, while larger spaces can accommodate more elaborate, eye-catching signs. Make sure your sign fits well within the dimensions of the lobby while also remaining visible and impactful.
3. Durability and Maintenance
Since your lobby sign is a permanent fixture in your space, it’s important to choose materials that are durable and easy to maintain. Acrylic, metal, and high-quality foam are great options that can withstand wear and tear over time. Additionally, make sure to choose a sign that is easy to clean and maintain.
4. Work with a Professional Sign Company
Choosing the right sign company in Kansas is essential to ensure you get a high-quality, well-designed lobby sign that meets your specific needs. A professional sign company will be able to help you select the materials, design, and installation process that is best suited to your space and budget.

Hey do y'all remember several years ago when we were all freaking out about net neutrality being overturned? Well despite net neutrality's win in 2024, a federal court just overturned it.
For those who aren't aware, net neutrality is the simple principle that companies like Verizon and Comcast should treat all web traffic equally – not pick and choose based on who is willing to pay more or who they like best. Big Tech companies obviously don’t like that – which is why they spent millions lobbying against it over the years.
Now, these megacorporations will be able to seize control back over our Internet. The likely result? Throttled access to streaming services, monopolistic pricing that cuts out competition, and a slower, walled off, and less free Internet for all of us.
And unfortunately, rulings like this will only get more common now that the Supreme Court has overturned the “Chevron deference” – giving judges, rather than qualified public servants, a blank check to toss out protections like net neutrality, environmental safeguards, or food safety standards.
When Trump’s FCC repealed net neutrality back in 2017, they gave big corporations total control over our Internet – putting free and open access at risk.
Internet providers responded by exploiting their newfound power to speed up certain websites, and slow down – or even block – others. They failed to provide crucial Internet infrastructure in rural areas, low-income communities, and communities of color. They even slashed firefighters’ Internet access during severe wildfires.
But over 126,000 people spoke out and we were able to reinstate net neutrality – until now.
The time has come again to take action: please sign this petition from Common Cause so we can reinstate net neutrality.

In tоdау'ѕ соmреtitivе mаrkеtрlасе, building аnd mаintаining brаnd awareness iѕ еѕѕеntiаl fоr the ѕuссеѕѕ оf any business. With consumers bоmbаrdеd by countless аdvеrtiѕеmеntѕ and messages every dау, it's сruсiаl fоr brands tо find innоvаtivе wауѕ tо stand оut frоm the crowd and сарturе the аttеntiоn of their tаrgеt audience. One highly effective ѕtrаtеgу fоr асhiеving this iѕ thrоugh thе uѕе of blаdе ѕignаgе.
Blade ѕignаgе, аlѕо knоwn аѕ projecting ѕignѕ, refers tо ѕignѕ that аrе mounted реrреndiсulаr tо thе building fасаdе, extending outward to grab аttеntiоn frоm раѕѕеrѕbу. These ѕignѕ аrе highly viѕiblе аnd саn bе сuѕtоmizеd to reflect thе uniԛuе idеntitу аnd реrѕоnаlitу of a brand. Whеn strategically designed and рlасеd, blade ѕignаgе саn serve аѕ a powerful tool fоr еmроwеring brаnd awareness аnd driving foot trаffiс tо buѕinеѕѕеѕ.
One of thе kеу bеnеfitѕ оf blade signage iѕ itѕ ability to inсrеаѕе brаnd visibility. Unlikе trаditiоnаl flаt ѕignѕ that may blend into thе background, blаdе ѕignѕ соmmаnd attention by рrоtruding intо thе реdеѕtriаn'ѕ linе оf ѕight. Whеthеr positioned аbоvе a ѕtоrеfrоnt оr along a buѕу ѕtrееt, blade ѕignаgе еnѕurеѕ thаt your brаnd'ѕ message iѕ ѕееn bу a lаrgеr audience, thеrеbу inсrеаѕing аwаrеnеѕѕ аnd recognition.
Moreover, blаdе ѕignаgе оffеrѕ buѕinеѕѕеѕ thе орроrtunitу tо ѕhоwсаѕе their brаnd реrѕоnаlitу аnd vаluеѕ in a сrеаtivе аnd еngаging wау. From custom shapes аnd colors tо illuminаtеd dеѕignѕ, blаdе signs саn be tailored tо аlign with уоur brand identity аnd сrеаtе a mеmоrаblе imрrеѕѕiоn оn customers. Fоr example, a bоutiԛuе сlоthing store mау opt fоr a ѕlееk аnd mоdеrn blаdе ѕign tо соnvеу sophistication, while a cozy саfé might сhооѕе a ruѕtiс wooden design to еvоkе warmth and сhаrm.
Furthеrmоrе, blade ѕignаgе serves as a vаluаblе nаvigаtiоnаl tооl, hеlрing customers lосаtе аnd identify businesses mоrе easily. Bу рrоminеntlу displaying your brаnd name and logo on a blade sign, уоu mаkе it simpler fоr potential сuѕtоmеrѕ tо find уоu аmidѕt a sea оf соmреting еѕtаbliѕhmеntѕ. This not only increases fооt trаffiс but аlѕо fоѕtеrѕ a ѕеnѕе оf familiarity and truѕt with уоur tаrgеt audience.
In addition tо еnhаnсing brаnd аwаrеnеѕѕ, blade ѕignаgе саn аlѕо drivе imрulѕе рurсhаѕеѕ and ѕрur сuѕtоmеr еngаgеmеnt. By showcasing рrоmоtiоnѕ, nеw arrivals, оr special offers оn your blаdе ѕign, уоu can entice passersby tо ѕtер inѕidе your еѕtаbliѕhmеnt аnd mаkе a рurсhаѕе. Furthermore, intеrасtivе blаdе ѕignаgе, such аѕ digitаl diѕрlауѕ or QR соdе integration, can encourage сuѕtоmеrѕ tо intеrасt with your brаnd in rеаl-timе, furthеr ѕtrеngthеning thеir соnnесtiоn аnd lоуаltу.
It'ѕ imроrtаnt tо nоtе thаt thе еffесtivеnеѕѕ of blаdе signage rеliеѕ hеаvilу on ѕtrаtеgiс placement аnd design. Working with experienced ѕign рrоfеѕѕiоnаlѕ саn hеlр ensure thаt уоur blаdе ѕignаgе not оnlу captures attention but аlѕо аlignѕ with lосаl rеgulаtiоnѕ and аеѕthеtiс guidelines. Additiоnаllу, rеgulаrlу uрdаting and refreshing уоur blade ѕignаgе can hеlр mаintаin rеlеvаnсе аnd intеrеѕt among уоur target audience.
In соnсluѕiоn, blаdе ѕignаgе rерrеѕеntѕ a роwеrful аnd vеrѕаtilе tооl fоr еmроwеring brаnd аwаrеnеѕѕ аnd driving buѕinеѕѕ grоwth. Bу lеvеrаging thе visibility, creativity, and functionality оf blаdе ѕignаgе, businesses саn еffесtivеlу diffеrеntiаtе themselves in thе mаrkеtрlасе, аttrасt mоrе сuѕtоmеrѕ, аnd fоѕtеr lаѕting connections with thеir аudiеnсе. Sо, whether уоu'rе a small lосаl shop or a multinаtiоnаl соrроrаtiоn, соnѕidеr invеѕting in blade ѕignаgе as a vаluаblе аѕѕеt in your brаnd-building arsenal.

Amazon illegally interferes with an historic UK warehouse election
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/edb671b688f953625129e93299ee7708/e18186982620beb5-a6/s540x810/7294135077029a374134d19dcd18ee31e8154616.jpg)
I'm in to TARTU, ESTONIA! Overcoming the Enshittocene (Monday, May 8, 6PM, Prima Vista Literary Festival keynote, University of Tartu Library, Struwe 1). AI, copyright and creative workers' labor rights (May 10, 8AM: Science Fiction Research Association talk, Institute of Foreign Languages and Cultures building, Lossi 3, lobby). A talk for hackers on seizing the means of computation (May 10, 3PM, University of Tartu Delta Centre, Narva 18, room 1037).
Amazon is very good at everything it does, including being very bad at the things it doesn't want to do. Take signing up for Prime: nothing could be simpler. The company has built a greased slide from Prime-curiosity to Prime-confirmed that is the envy of every UX designer.
But unsubscribing from Prime? That's a fucking nightmare. Somehow the company that can easily figure out how to sign up for a service is totally baffled when it comes to making it just as easy to leave. Now, there's two possibilities here: either Amazon's UX competence is a kind of erratic freak tide that sweeps in at unpredictable intervals and hits these unbelievable high-water marks, or the company just doesn't want to let you leave.
To investigate this question, let's consider a parallel: Black Flag's Roach Motel. This is an icon of American design, a little brown cardboard box that is saturated in irresistibly delicious (to cockroaches, at least) pheromones. These powerful scents make it admirably easy for all the roaches in your home to locate your Roach Motel and enter it.
But the interior of the Roach Motel is also coated in a sticky glue. Once roaches enter the motel, their legs and bodies brush up against this glue and become hopeless mired in it. A roach can't leave – not without tearing off its own legs.
It's possible that Black Flag made a mistake here. Maybe they wanted to make it just as easy for a roach to leave as it is to enter. If that seems improbable to you, well, you're right. We don't even have to speculate, we can just refer to Black Flag's slogan for Roach Motel: "Roaches check in, but they don't check out."
It's intentional, and we know that because they told us so.
Back to Amazon and Prime. Was it some oversight that cause the company make it so marvelously painless to sign up for Prime, but such a titanic pain in the ass to leave? Again, no speculation is required, because Amazon's executives exchanged a mountain of internal memos in which this is identified as a deliberate strategy, by which they deliberately chose to trick people into signing up for Prime and then hid the means of leaving Prime. Prime is a Roach Motel: users check in, but they don't check out:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/09/03/big-tech-cant-stop-telling-on-itself/
When it benefits Amazon, they are obsessive – "relentless" (Bezos's original for the company) – about user friendliness. They value ease of use so highly that they even patented "one click checkout" – the incredibly obvious idea that a company that stores your shipping address and credit card could let you buy something with a single click:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1-Click#Patent
But when it benefits Amazon to place obstacles in our way, they are even more relentless in inventing new forms of fuckery, spiteful little landmines they strew in our path. Just look at how Amazon deals with unionization efforts in its warehouses.
Amazon's relentless union-busting spans a wide diversity of tactics. On the one hand, they cook up media narratives to smear organizers, invoking racist dog-whistles to discredit workers who want a better deal:
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/apr/02/amazon-chris-smalls-smart-articulate-leaked-memo
On the other hand, they collude with federal agencies to make workers afraid that their secret ballots will be visible to their bosses, exposing them to retaliation:
https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/amazon-violated-labor-law-alabama-union-election-labor-official-finds-rcna1582
They hold Cultural Revolution-style forced indoctrination meetings where they illegally threaten workers with punishment for voting in favor of their union:
https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/31/business/economy/amazon-union-staten-island-nlrb.html
And they fire Amazon tech workers who express solidarity with warehouse workers:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/amazon-fires-tech-employees-workers-criticism-warehouse-climate-policies/
But all this is high-touch, labor-intensive fuckery. Amazon, as we know, loves automation, and so it automates much of its union-busting: for example, it created an employee chat app that refused to deliver any message containing words like "fairness" or "grievance":
https://pluralistic.net/2022/04/05/doubleplusrelentless/#quackspeak
Amazon also invents implausible corporate fictions that allow it to terminate entire sections of its workforce for trying to unionize, by maintaining the tormented pretense that these workers, who wear Amazon uniforms, drive Amazon trucks, deliver Amazon packages, and are tracked by Amazon down to the movements of their eyeballs, are, in fact, not Amazon employees:
https://www.wired.com/story/his-drivers-unionized-then-amazon-tried-to-terminate-his-contract/
These workers have plenty of cause to want to unionize. Amazon warehouses are sources of grueling torment. Take "megacycling," a ten-hour shift that runs from 1:20AM to 11:50AM that workers are plunged into without warning or the right to refuse. This isn't just a night shift – it's a night shift that makes it impossible to care for your children or maintain any kind of normal life.
Then there's Jeff Bezos's war on his workers' kidneys. Amazon warehouse workers and drivers notoriously have to pee in bottles, because they are monitored by algorithms that dock their pay for taking bathroom breaks. The road to Amazon's warehouse in Coventry, England is littered with sealed bottles of driver piss, defenestrated by drivers before they reach the depot inspection site.
There's so much piss on the side of the Coventry road that the prankster Oobah Butler was able to collect it, decant it into bottles, and market it on Amazon as an energy beverage called "Bitter Lemon Release Energy," where it briefly became Amazon's bestselling energy drink:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/10/20/release-energy/#the-bitterest-lemon
(Butler promises that he didn't actually ship any bottled piss to people who weren't in on the gag – but let's just pause here and note how weird it is that a guy who hates our kidneys as much as Jeff Bezos built and flies a penis-shaped rocket.)
Butler also secretly joined the surge of 1,000 workers that Amazon hired for the Coventry warehouse in advance of a union vote, with the hope of diluting the yes side of that vote and forestall the union. Amazon displayed more of its famously selective competence here, spotting Butler and firing him in short order, while totally failing to notice that he was marketing bottles of driver piss as a bitter lemon drink on Amazon's retail platform.
After a long fight, Amazon's Coventry workers are finally getting their union vote, thanks to the GMB union's hard fought battle at the Central Arbitration Committee:
https://www.foxglove.org.uk/2024/04/26/amazon-warehouse-workers-in-coventry-will-vote-on-trade-union-recognition/
And right on schedule, Amazon has once again discovered its incredible facility for ease-of-use. The company has blanketed its shop floor with radioactively illegal "one click to quit the union" QR codes. When a worker aims their phones at the code and clicks the link, the system auto-generates a letter resigning the worker from their union.
As noted, this is totally illegal. English law bans employers from "making an offer to an employee for the sole or main purpose of inducing workers not to be members of an independent trade union, take part in its activities, or make use of its services."
Now, legal or not, this may strike you as a benign intervention on Amazon's part. Why shouldn't it be easy for workers to choose how they are represented in their workplaces? But the one-click system is only half of Amazon's illegal union-busting: the other half is delivered by its managers, who have cornered workers on the shop floor and ordered them to quit their union, threatening them with workplace retaliation if they don't.
This is in addition to more forced "captive audience" meetings where workers are bombarded with lies about what life in an union shop is like.
Again, the contrast couldn't be more stark. If you want to quit a union, Amazon makes this as easy as joining Prime. But if you want to join a union, Amazon makes that even harder than quitting Prime. Amazon has the same attitude to its workers and its customers: they see us all as a resource to be extracted, and have no qualms about tricking or even intimidating us into doing what's best for Amazon, at the expense of our own interests.
The campaigning law-firm Foxglove is representing five of Amazon's Coventry workers. They're doing the lord's work:
https://www.foxglove.org.uk/2024/05/02/legal-challenge-to-amazon-uks-new-one-click-to-quit-the-union-tool/
All this highlights the increasing divergence between the UK and the US when it comes to labor rights. Under the Biden Administration, @NLRB General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo has promulgated a rule that grants a union automatic recognition if the boss does anything to interfere with a union election:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/09/06/goons-ginks-and-company-finks/#if-blood-be-the-price-of-your-cursed-wealth
In other words, if Amazon tries these tactics in the USA now, their union will be immediately recognized. Abruzzo has installed an ultra-sensitive tilt-sensor in America's union elections, and if Bezos or his class allies so much as sneeze in the direction of their workers' democratic rights, they automatically lose.

Lobby Signs: Your Best Chance at Greeting Your Visitors the Right Way
First impressions are a crucial part of any business. When customers walk through your doors, you want to make sure they have the best possible image of your business. It’s important to build an inviting, positive atmosphere the moment they step foot in your space.
For this reason, it’s crucial to have the right office lobby signs for your business. They help set the tone of every customer’s experience with your brand.
The Impact of Quality Materials on Reception Signs
Did you know that people see the quality of your signs as a reflection of the quality of your products and services? When choosing signs for your lobby, it’s important to choose quality materials. This makes your signs look their best and ensures maximum impact and longevity.
You may opt for metal or acrylic signage with printed graphics that last longer. The right material choice ensures that these custom lobby signs are long-lasting investments. Office reception signs help in creating a great first impression for years down the line.
Choose the Right Design Elements
Designing your sign includes choosing fonts, colors, images, and the like. All these choices can affect the type of image you want to build for your brand. You should always choose colors that reflect the brand identity of your business and complement your interior or office space.

Additionally, think about how many images or logos you want to be included in your office reception sign’s design. This can affect its overall look and feel. If possible, try to limit yourself to one or two elements per sign. This helps keep it from looking cluttered and unprofessional.

5 Tips for Choosing the Best Lobby Sign for Your Office
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/19430757a6d3323cf31a902c7062bf0b/21f1a2db10cef928-d2/s540x810/93c79c8538167acfbda12017207cea8f34125671.jpg)
Lobby signs are used for greeting and welcoming guests or customers and are also effective at highlighting your brand. Read the tips below to help you choose the right lobby sign for your business.
1. Be Consistent and Unique
Incorporate your brand colors and logo in the signage to strengthen your brand or to draw more customers in. Lobby signs must also fit your industry — if you are offering professional services, the signage must reflect this. Unique signage may also entice more visitors. Check out the reception area signs of similar businesses to see if you can draw inspiration but create something unique for your brand.
2. Determine Your Target Audience
One of the keys to designing effective lobby signs is to know who you are creating them for. The lobby signs must appeal to your target audience so that potential customers are more likely to remember you and your brand. Start-ups or IT companies, for instance, usually go for something glossy and sleek to attract more clients.
3. Make Sure It’s Suitable for Your Space
Lobby signs are usually the first thing customers see, so ensure they stand out. The type of wall and the wall’s color play a role in helping you design the right signage for your lobby. The signage must create an impact and not look out of place. If you have bright brand colors and a brighter wall, consider having signage with darker colors as well.
4. Must Align With Current and Future Goals
If you want to create more awareness for your brand, using 3D letters can add drama and depth. You can also use illumination when planning your unique sign. Choose the right lobby signs that have the right look but also align with company goals — for example, you may want to also highlight your mission statement in the lobby to create the right impression for your visitors.
It would also help to familiarize yourself with the different materials you can choose for your sign. Metal is common in law offices, while wood is ideal for traditional businesses. If you prefer something modern, go with acrylic or vinyl.
5. Work With a Reliable and Trusted Signage Company
Look for a signage company that offers a wide range of options and prioritizes reinforcing your brand. Read reviews if possible to ensure the company doesn’t cut corners when designing and installing office lobby signs. Most importantly, make sure they offer customized solutions and installation services.
Start Designing Lobby Signs
There are three main elements to remember when designing lobby signs for businesses: color, branding, and placement. Work with an experienced signage company that can incorporate these elements to create and install your custom lobby signs. Get in touch with OakSpy Signs & Graphics today.

In 2024, wealth concentration rose to an all-time high. According to Forbes’ Billionaires List, not only are there more billionaires than ever—2,781—but those billionaires are also richer than ever, with an aggregate worth of $14.2 trillion. This is a trend that looks set to continue unabated. A recent report from the financial data company Altrata estimated that about 1.2 million individuals who are worth more than $5 million will pass on a collective wealth of almost $31 trillion over the next decade.
Discontentment and concern over the consequences of extreme wealth in our society is growing. Senator Bernie Sanders, for instance, stated that the “obscene level of income and wealth inequality in America is a profoundly moral issue.” In a joint op-ed for CNN in 2023, Democratic congresswoman Barbara Lee and Disney heiress Abigail Disney wrote that “extreme wealth inequality is a threat to our economy and democracy.” In 2024, when the board of Tesla put to vote a $56 billion pay package for Elon Musk, some major shareholders voted against it, declaring that such a compensation level was “absurd” and “ridiculous.”
In 2025, the fight against rising wealth inequality will be high on the political agenda. In July 2024, the G20—the world’s 20 biggest economies—agreed to work on a proposal by Brazil to introduce a new global “billionaire tax” that would levy a 2 percent tax on assets worth more than $1 billion. This would raise an estimated $250 billion a year. While this specific proposal was not endorsed in the Rio declaration, the G20 countries agreed that the super rich should be taxed more.
Progressive politicians won’t be the only ones trying to address this problem. In 2025, millionaires themselves will increasingly mobilize and put pressure on political leaders. One such movement is Patriotic Millionaires, a nonpartisan group of multimillionaires who are already publicly campaigning and privately lobbying the American Congress for a guaranteed living wage for all, a fair tax system, and the protection of equal representation. “Millionaires and large corporations—who have benefited most from our country’s assets—should pay a larger percentage of the tab for running the country,” reads their value statement. Members include Abigail Disney, former BlackRock executive Morris Pearl, legal scholar Lawrence Lessig, screenwriter Norman Lear, and investor Lawrence Benenson.
Another example is TaxMeNow, a lobby group founded in 2021 by young multimillionaires in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland which also advocates for higher wealth taxation. Its most famous member is the 32-year old Marlene Engelhorn, descendant of Friedrich Engelhorn, founder of German pharma giant BASF. She recently set up a council made up of 50 randomly selected Austrian citizens to decide what should happen to her €25 million inheritance. “I have inherited a fortune, and therefore power, without having done anything for it,” she said in a statement. “If politicians don’t do their job and redistribute, then I have to redistribute my wealth myself.”
Earlier this year, Patriotic Millionaires, TaxMeNow, Oxfam, and another activist group called Millionaires For Humanity formed a coalition called Proud to Pay More, and addressed a letter to global leaders during the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Signed by hundreds of high-net-worth individuals—including heiress Valerie Rockefeller, actor Simon Pegg, and filmmaker Richard Curtis—the letter stated: “We all know that ‘trickle down economics’ has not translated into reality. Instead it has given us stagnating wages, crumbling infrastructure, failing public services, and destabilized the very institution of democracy.” It concluded: “We ask you to take this necessary and inevitable step before it’s too late. Make your countries proud. Tax extreme wealth.” In 2025, thanks to the nascent movement of activist millionaires, these calls will grow even louder.
#it's nice to think about but it's not going to happen anytime soon#not with this congress and president

Former Manager
Part One: Back in town.
Jo Yuri x Male Reader (2.9K Length)
The abrupt movements and the deceleration sensation alerted you, waking you up. Automatically you took a quick look out through the window of your seat, the clouds gave way to a landscape that brought back many memories, it wasn’t your first time landing at the Incheon Airport.
You got off the plane, taking your suitcase ready to leave the terminal. Breathing the air of that place in an attempt to calm you down, but you failed when all your memories flooded into your brain in a succession of images.
You started to walk thinking about it thoroughly, that nerves invade your body was kind of stupid being honest, you had done this before and with a lot more pressure according to yourself, after all not everyone could boast of have been a manager for the popular girl group Iz*One.
That’s right, after committing the biggest folly of your life by deciding to move to South Korea instead of go to the college you found a miracle job, specifically being one of the Iz*One managers for 1 year and a half. That was until due to some personal reasons you were forced to return to your home country. And 4 years later here you are, back in the Asian country to resume your job as a manager.
You were surprised when Wake One Entertainment contacted you offering a new job. Apparently they didn’t have enough managers in the company due to the arrival of new groups, which caused a total restructuring of the staff, leaving Kep1er in search of a new manager. That’s where you and your good work done with Iz*One years ago came in, knowing that the new head of the staff was one of your coworkers at that time.
It was a really complicated decision to make for several reasons: 1. You hadn't spoken the language for a long period of time. 2. Take care of a group full of teenage divas wasn’t an easy job. 3. And you were comfortable in your current job. Seen this way, only a crazy person would accept that offer. Exactly what you did 5 minutes later.
You came back down to earth as the cab stopped, and you were able to see right in front of you the Wake One building. You walked inside the building and introduced yourself to the front desk indicating that you were coming for the manager vacancy, one of the receptionists guided you to the conference room where your interview would take place.
The interview was nothing more than a formality, obviously the vacancy was yours, but certain guideline had to be met.
They told you that the Kep1er girls were currently in the USA for the KCON, so you would not start working with them until the next week, once they returned.
You returned to the main lobby, the keys of your new house were given to you alongside your company car with some more documents to sign.
It was at that moment meanwhile you were signing the documents that you heard a familiar voice behind you calling your name. “Manager oppa!”
You turned yourself to face the former Iz*One member and now soloist, Jo Yuri. “It is really you, manager oppa!?” She shouted in surprise, covering her mouth with her hands.
Your heart almost skipped a beat as you looked her up and down. She was no longer that little girl she used to be when you were spending your days with her. Even though she had grown up, she still had that youthful look.
“Excuse me, but…” You left the pen over the desk. “Do i know you?”
Her facial expression faded as soon as you said that, turning from surprise to annoyance.
“Do you really forgot about me, oppa!?” Her louder and offended voice made you laugh and making her even angrier.
“I couldn’t forget you so easy, Yuri.” You told her showing a smile and she sigh annoyed. “You still like teasing me. But it’s been a long time, what are you doing here?” Her tone sounded cheerful again.
“Woah, so now you’ll be managing Kep1er, they are so lucky to have you I envy them, but now I have to record my new song, hope to see you often around the company, oppa!” You said goodbye to her as you watched her to disappear when the elevator closed its doors, didn’t expect to meet one of your former members so soon.
You walked out the building to take the car and drive right to your new home, making a quick stop in a convenience store to buy some fast food for dinner accompanied by a drink.
Finally, you arrived at home, left the food bag and some papers on a nearby table and plopped down on the sofa visibly tired, jet lag was taking its toll.
Even so, you found the strength to browse through some things and investigate more about your new members while you had dinner. You were relieved to know that they were fewer than the last time, although from what you could see in some videos they seemed louder, especially that little girl named Hikaru.
You finished for today, noticing that it was already dark outside and decided to take a long relaxing shower before getting into bed, whereas you tried to fall asleep your memories of years ago with the Iz*One girls came flooding back.
After your step down you had been following from the distance the evolution of every member career, and you couldn't be more proud of each one of them, but seeing them now in real life would be a different feeling.
Then you remembered the brief encounter with Yuri in the company, you began to think about how much she changed in these years, she was one of the younger members back then, but now she seemed so much mature.
You couldn’t help but think how much her body had changed this time, she was all grown up and transform into a real woman. You even noticed how good she fit in those jeans she was wearing today that enhanced her hips and showed off her ass.
BUT WHAT THE HELL I AM EVEN THINKING! You shouted in your mind sitting up in the bed breathing heavily, how you could be thinking about her in that way, about one of the girls you took care for almost two years, the one you practically treated like a younger sister.
You lay back down in bed again, looking at the ceiling and then looked down at your pelvic area, noticing the big erection that had formed under your pants. “I must be sick.” You whispered, slipping your hand under your clothes, trying to stimulate yourself before falling asleep.
The next morning you made your way to the company, but first you took a shower and had breakfast that only consists of a coffee cup and a couple of cookies. The biggest part of the day happened in the office, you had so much work to do before Kep1er returned from their activities.
Around lunchtime someone knocked to your door, you stretched out on the chair giving way to the person who has knocked. “Oppa, let’s have lunch together!” Yuri exclaimed showing her head out the door.
She burst into your office carrying a heavy bag that lifted it to your eyes level.
“Yuri…”
“I assumed that you'll have a lot of work in your first day, and you always insisted me on not skipping meals, so it’s my time to pay you back.” she said with a big smile. She had touched you there.
“I really missed tteokbokki.” You said eating the food. Yuri was sitting in the chair in front of you, she wasn’t eating but admiring you. “Do I have to remind you that you also have to eat?” You scolded her, but she just laughed at it. “Don’t worry about me, I want to eat other type of food…” “Which one?” You asked, taking one more fried chicken piece. “You.” Hearing that made the piece of chicken slip on your chopsticks and roll off the desk, you couldn’t say anything, you were petrified.
“You spend a lot of time with Yena, now you also replicate her stupid jokes.”
“It’s not a joke, oppa.” For the first time ever you could see an unusual expression on her face, one you have never seen before, what was going on with her?
“Yuri, stop this joke now, it’s not funny…” “I’ve already told you, it’s not a joke…” She said standing up from her chair and crawled under your desk, reaching you.
“Yuri! What are you doing?”
“You are so tense, oppa, you should relax.” At this point she was fully under your desk reaching your legs and touching between them, why was this happening to you?
“I always thought that the first one to do something like this with you would be Eunbi unnie, years ago I found out she was talking about it together with Hyewon unnie and Chaeyeon unnie.” Hear that made you open wide your eyes, it couldn’t be true. “It’s kind of normal, a young women group with raging hormones and such a young manager, kind and attractive, it’s every girl’s dream.”
But she was right, back then you were too much young to managing a group, actually you still are today, even Eunbi was older than you. That’s why you considered all of them as your sisters, and that’s why this situation was so complicated.
“Yuri…we both knows this is so wrong.” You tried to reason with her.
“You are not my manager anymore and we both are adults, but mostly important…” She touched the huge bulge that had already formed under your pants. “You really desire it, don’t you?”
“Yuri, please, anyone could come in at any moment.” Your words were useless, she was already unbuckling the belt of your pants, and you couldn’t or rather didn’t want to do anything to stop her. A few seconds later you could felt how your penis was set free.
“IT’S SO BIG!” She exclaimed, amazed by the size of your dick, making you shift restlessly in your seat.
“Lower your voice, someone could hear you.” You scold her and became more and more anxious as you looked towards the door of your office.
“Sorry, it’s just…it’s incredible oppa.”
Her eyes couldn't be apart from your dick, she was totally hypnotized looking at it, but suddenly she started to massage your penis with her hands, making you moan.
She ran her tongue all over your length, from the tip to your balls and repeated this for a while, at each repeat your cock was more and more wet and your knuckles were turning white due to the strength you were grappling to the chair armrest.
She looked at your face still kneeling down ad if she was asking for permission to continue, you succumbed to the temptation, you had already fallen time ago, and nodded your head. Then she opened her mouth and put every inch of your cock she could inside her. She was struggling to make you be fully inside her mouth, but you were so much huge to her, so she decided to move her tongue around the part of your dick that was already inside.
You couldn’t describe what you were feeling at that moment, it was the nearest to being in pleasure paradise you never experienced. Yuri’s tongue didn’t stop moving over your penis, constants moves that went in unison with your moans.
She made an effort to make you fit completely in her mouth, you looked at her, noticing her cheeks filled with your cock. You let out a loud moan as the tip of your cock brushed against her throat.
She peeled herself off you for air, gasping visibly and with a large thread of saliva coming out of her mouth, masturbating you meanwhile she tried to recover.
“How the hell are you so good at this?” She smiled, taking that as a compliment. “I’ve dreamed a lot of times with this moment, I’m glad you like it.”
“It’s certainly better than masturbating by myself like last night.” You mentioned out loud as if you were talking to yourself. It took you a second to realize your mistake.
“Wait, what I wanted to say was…”
“I see.” She cut you off. “Manager oppa is a dirty man who has always thought about having me like this with him.”
“NO!” You quickly denied provoking her loud laughs.
“But it makes me happy, because you were always good and kind to me, so it’s my time to make oppa’s fantasies come true” She said bringing your cock closing to her mouth once again.
“What you mean?” You asked when a sinister smiled was formed on her face.
“Fuck my mouth, oppa.”
And there you lost the last shred of self-control you had, if you still had any.
As soon as she resumed the blowjob, you put one of your hands behind her head, making her swallow the entire of your length. Yuri supported her hands on your chair, trying to follow with her head the pace that you were now setting.
You could hear how she was choking on your cock every time your hands down her head into it. A bit worried, you tried to be less rude and give her a rest, but her hands stopped you, telling you that she was enjoying this as much as you.
“My god, Yuri...just like that…” You kept moaning, grabbing her hair that was falling into her forehead at the same time you started to move your hips making you go deeper on her mouth, fucking her throat.
She looked at you with fire in her eyes, telling you with her gaze that she wanted even more, you didn’t hesitate and kept fucking her mouth more aggressively.
You let her go, giving her time to catch her breath, her eyes were watering, and her makeup was totally ruined. It was the hottest thing you had ever seen in your life.
You bent down to lift her chin and kiss her passionate for a while until you separated from her and leaned back in your seat. You took your own penis in your hands, offering it to her.
“Finish the job.”
She immediately went back to sucking you desperately, her mouth was already habituated perfectly to your size, so you could notice how she was improved by the time pass.
You took her hands, forcing her to satisfy you using only her head. Sometimes it would slip out of her mouth and she would struggle to suck it back in, completely possessed by lust.
Her face was between your hands now, you couldn’t stop admiring the way she was sucking you, she placed your penis into her right cheek then you touched the resultant bulge, she stopped then and let your dick rest in her mouth closing her eyes enjoying your caresses.
If it were up to you, you would have stayed like this forever, but unfortunately it was time to end.
“Make sure to swallow it all.” You warned moving your hips faster feeling your load concentrating on your tip letting you know you were ready for the shot.
“YURI!” You screamed, unable to hold back any longer, reaching the orgasm and shooting your cum straight down her throat.
She did her best to hold it all in, but at the end a bit of cum dripped out of her mouth and ran down her chin to finally fall to the office floor.
The rest of your cum was still inside her mouth, she stepped back and opened her mouth to show you the amount of cum you gave to her. You watched her swallow all your cum at once, and that made you feel hornier than ever.
“Good girl.” You smiled at her.
She smiled you back and stood up, grabbing her bag to pull out a small makeup set, and trying to fix the mess you both made on her.
“Good as new.” She said, looking at herself in the small mirror. “Thanks for the meal oppa, hope we can repeat.” And she winked at you, making you come back to reality.
“Yuri, this was amazing, believe me, but it can’t happen again, or I will be in problems.”
“You don’t have to worry, I’ll make sure no one would discover us and…” Her cheeks turned red for a second.
“And?”
“I was thinking, maybe oppa can teach me a lot of things…” Oh, she was talking on that sense.
Your cheeks went also full red color and your brain started to malfunction, trying hard to formalize an excuse, a reason to refuse while she headed towards the door.
“Oh, I almost forget about it.” She stopped in the doorway.
“I told the girls about you, and they want to see you, Eunbi unnie will host a dinner party for us tonight in her house, you can’t miss it!” She said cheerful before leaving the office.
“Great, just what I needed.” You mumbled to yourself in an ironic way, throwing yourself back in the chair, noticing that you still had your member free, and hurried to get dressed again.
You slammed your face against the desk causing a louder sound and let it out a big sigh. “I’m going to get fired.”

Can I request headcanons for Kurt, Remy, Logan, and Wade being stuck with his gender neutral crush in close proximity please?
Love this 👅👅👅
Wade, Logan, Remy, and Kurt with gn!Reader in close/forced proximity 💕
Warnings!!!: Mild language, tad bit suggestive in a few parts (nothing crazy, don’t get excited), Wade being semi aware that he’s in a fanfiction lol, forced proximity in smallish places
A/n: Hello, I’m back. I liked writing this one, it brought me joy even though I had a mental breakdown halfway through writing it for unrelated reasons. Anyways, requests are open 😛
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bfe50f16f3bd895f764fbb4e7e230a92/9806705ec3cc2dec-95/s540x810/ed53a0da6857decf608d421ec77edfc575ca668d.jpg)
Wade Wilson:
Wade drags you out to a casino after a successful mission together because you guys are in Vegas and he wants to celebrate!! and definitely not because he wants to spend more time with you
But, of course, as soon as you two exit the lobby area of the casino and enter an elevator, the thing comes to a sudden halt.
“Uh-oh. The good ol’ forced proximity trope. Better get comfortable, Y/n. I’ve read enough fanfiction to know we’re not getting out of here anytime soon.”
Obviously, you call the front desk. But, they tell you it’ll be a while till they can send someone over to get you guys out of here.
Despite the shitty situation, Wade is happy to be spending time with you.
The two of you sit on the floor after a while and even though it’s a pretty spacious elevator, Wade sits right next to you. Like, shoulder to shoulder.
He’s sure to keep you entertained while you wait to be rescued. And by keeping you entertained, I mean he won’t shut the fuck up.
And it’s really all fun and games for him until you show any signs of being genuinely upset or nervous about being stuck here.
That’s when he basically pries the doors open himself and somehow manages to climb through the elevator shaft and fixes the problem himself.
“How the hell did you manage to do that?”
“I can be useful when I want to, hot stuff.”
You guys leave a negative review on the Casino later.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cb64abb7656c0bcd65079fe113429d46/9806705ec3cc2dec-65/s540x810/1a2c5329e36d0d8522d2bd3b9a72d4e936201fdc.jpg)
Logan Howlett:
You two have to share a hotel room together while on a mission, and unexpectedly, (say it with me, now) there’s only one bed.
“I can sleep on the floor.”
“I don’t want you sleeping on the floor.”
“Do you wanna sleep on the floor?”
“The bed can easily fit two people. Besides, It’s just for one night.”
“…”
“Come on…. I don’t bite.”
So, now you two are sharing a bed. And to your surprise, he’s being very mindful about it.
He sets up a little wall of pillows between you and says it’s to protect you in case his claws come out while he’s sleeping.
And obviously, you don’t know about it, but he’s pretty nervous.
He knows it’s stupid and he knows he shouldn’t be nervous because it’s not like anything is going to happen between the two of you. But, still.
He gets up once or twice to leave the room to smoke and definitely not to go outside and contemplate every single thing he’s done tonight.
When he comes back, you apologize and he realizes that he’s probably made you think that he’s somehow uncomfortable by your presence.
“Don’t be sorry. I don’t mind this, honestly.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
And so, the two of you get into bed together. Don’t worry. He’s going to be a gentleman about it unless you don’t want him to be 😈

Remy LeBeau:
The two of you are tasked with grabbing some spare blankets from a closet after some of the children at the school ask to build a pillow fort.
Easy enough task, right? Wrong. Somehow the two of you get trapped in the blanket closet together.
One can only bang on a door and shout for help for so long before giving up.
“Don’t worry, Mon Ami. Gambit’ll keep you company.”
The two of you can’t really move too much, both settling for leaning against the walls opposite from one another.
He assures you he wouldn’t mind you getting closer. Which, of course, gets you flustered and you just have to hope he doesn’t notice in the dark.
He’s having a great time. He loves teasing you, and getting to see you get all nervous.
“You sure you don’t wanna get a little more comfortable?”
“It’s fine, really. Someone’s probably realized we’re gone by now. They’ll find us here any minute.”
“Shame. I was hoping we’d get a little more time alone together.”
Anyways, it turns out if there are people looking for you, they’re doing a pretty shitty job, because you haven’t even heard anyone walk by the closet and it’s been nearly 20 minutes.
And Remy knows he unfortunately can’t just stay in here with you forever. So, he’ll knock down the door the second you give him the word.

Kurt Wagner:
You, Kurt, and a couple of the other X-Men take a little road trip. Or are all driving to do a mission. It doesn’t really matter, you’re all in a car together.
You and Kurt end up drawing the short straws and are forced to be crammed into the small backseat together.
Now, could Kurt hypothetically just Bamf over to wherever you guys are going? Probably. But, why would he do that when this is the perfect excuse to spend time with the person he’s been pining after for…. Weeks? Months? Who knows.
It doesn’t matter! He’s happy to be here with you. But, also nervous.
He doesn’t wanna upset you, or weird you out, or make you uncomfortable at all! That’s the opposite of how he wants to make you feel!
So, he may or may not end up basically smushing himself against the car wall.
He chills out eventually and gets comfortable. But, fuck, those first 30 minutes were ROUGH.
You two get to talking and he’s just so happy to be spending time with you. So happy his tail subconsciously wraps around your ankle.
You either don’t notice or don’t say anything. Either way, the tail stays there.
After a couple hours, your eyelids start to feel heavy. And before you know it, you’re asleep. On Kurt’s shoulder. AND HE’S FREAKING OUT ‼️‼️
-Y/n? Y/n? Mein Gott….”
And that’s the last thing he manages to get out before going completely ghost and still. He wants you to get your rest.
Eventually he falls asleep too. Turns out the two of you get very good rest when sleeping together. Maybe you should do it more often.

SAY YES TO ME ~ ❀ ·˚
content/warnings. 1.7k+ wc | husband!reo x gn!reader | characters are aged up to late twenties | just lovesick reo asking you to be his valentine's date :> | pure fluff | minimal proofread
𓆩♡𓆪 in which: your husband, reo, just knows exactly how to make you say yes.
For the first time in his life, Reo had never been happier to be the CEO of his company.
He couldn't recall feeling as alive even when he first inherited the position. While he appreciated the benefits and authority, nothing compared to the freedom of controlling his own time.
As soon as the clock struck 12 pm, Reo sprang to his feet, driven by a sense of purpose akin to a man on a mission. His determined strides echoed against the perfectly marbled tiles of his office floor as he made his way to the elevator. It was five hours earlier than his usual clock-out time, but today was an exception.
Because today was Valentine’s Day— and he had better plans than sitting around skimming through papers that hardly made any sense anymore because his mind was already consumed with thoughts of you, as if he didn’t spend most of his time doing exactly that anyway.
Before finally leaving his office floor, Reo made a beeline for his secretary’s desk to ensure the finishing touches were being made according to his instructions.
“Everything must be ready before we arrive,” he declared to his secretary, his tone more of a command than a request. This was serious business, after all. In fact, none of the investor deals he signed earlier this day would measure up to the importance of this one task at hand.
“Yes, sir,” his secretary replied cautiously.
Satisfied, he stepped into the elevator. His eagerness to see you was so evident— anyone can tell. He wasn’t hiding it, not even trying one bit to do so. From the way he pressed the lobby button twice, checked his watch incessantly for the past few hours, and tapped his wingtip against the elevator floor as if its speed could hasten his journey home— everyone can tell that his very own company building was the last place on earth he wanted to be.
Well, he supposed anyone with someone precious waiting for them at home would understand his seemingly pathetic behavior.
Pathetic, lovesick, whipped— you’ve reduced him to every synonym for such.
Not that it concerns him; what's more concerning is that he's not bothered by any perception tied to it. If he hadn't outgrown that teenage angst and was still chasing bits to fuel his ego, then it would have been a different story. He would have been hypersensitive to what bystanders thought of him. Now, older and wiser, he couldn’t care less about what they meant to prying eyes or big tabloids. None of their opinions were yours, so none of them mattered.
The journey back home was tenfold more insufferable than the time spent in the elevator. He kept his eye on his chauffeur in the rear-view mirror, and if he squinted enough, he could see the beads of nervous sweat forming at the poor man’s temple. He sighed to himself, seemingly reprimanding his own improper behavior. Hell, what was happening to him? He wasn't even an impatient man to begin with. All because of Valentine’s Day—all because he couldn’t wait to see you.
He got it real bad, as his longtime best friend would like to say. One he couldn't find it in himself to deny. It was true, anyway.
He didn't know when or where it started, but one random night four years ago, he woke up in a cold sweat, and the realization that he was hell deep in love with you gnawed on his center to his throat. So in love it set his heart on fire, all while being in love with the one person who lit the match.
Rumors were true— love never aligned with logic, intricate planning, none of what he excelled at as a businessman. And so, he abandoned logic and acted exactly as his heart had been urging him to.
The very moment the sun peeked over the horizon that fateful day, he was on his feet, his jet waiting to fly him to wherever the finest diamond engagement rings reside.
It was the best decision he had ever made in his life because if he hadn’t, then he wouldn’t be standing at the entrance of your shared home, his grin widening with each approaching step he hears. You’re bustling around the house just to welcome him home—so, no, he couldn’t have it any other way. The mere thought of doing things differently made his heart leap into his throat, while a hollow feeling settled in his chest.
“Love! Welcome home!” you greet him, your lively voice warming Reo’s heart as it makes its way to him.
Even before you could throw your arms around his shoulders and kiss him senselessly to welcome him home, you're met with a bundle of red roses he had taken from his back.
“You shouldn’t have bothered,” you blushed, resembling the vibrant flowers he bought on the way home.
“Nothing is ever a bother when it comes to you,” he mused, big amethyst eyes sparkling back at you.
Ever the sweet talker, you looked at your husband who was now peering over you and the roses you’re cradling.
“Okay, Mr. Charming. To what occasion do I owe this?” you play pretend, your voice tinged with playful curiosity.
Instead of an immediate response, you felt his hands traveling to the small of your back, pulling you close against his embrace. His lips grazed your cheek, before whispering in your ear, “Be my Valentine?”
Here he goes again, you thought. “I’ve been married to you for the last four years, if I remember correctly,” you pointed out to him, keeping your smile to yourself.
That’s not a yes. Huffing, Reo pulled back from your hug to look you in the eye, “Your point being? There are no rules in marriage that say I can no longer ask you on Valentine’s day– if I remember correctly,” and he even had the pettiness to mock your tone.
“Wow, my husband is a bit sassy today, isn’t he?”
My husband, he repeats in his mind, and just like that, all sassiness and pettiness came flying straight out of the window. “I love being your husband,” he blurted out, totally unrelated to your previous banter.
“Oh, really, now?” you teased, feigning the warmth it sent to your chest.
He does, truly and definitely. A man like him is widely known for what he has– for the possessions under his name and for the power it holds. Yet here he was, wrapped around your arms, and suddenly, being your husband has been the best he has been called and known for.
There was no weight, no expectations, and no pressure tied to it— just love dripping in every letter. There’s no one he would rather be.
“Yeah, am I doing a great job?” smiling at you, he asks, “I’m not losing the charms, am I?”
“Trust me, you’re very much good at it,” you fondly brushed the strands of hair covering his eyes, “and you’re not losing the charms,” you quoted.
“Really? So if I were to ask again, would you say yes?”
“With or without your ‘charms’, you know exactly how to make me say yes.”
Reo let out a hearty laugh at your remark. “You’re right,” his fingers reached out to your left ring finger, where his oath of forever lay glimmering.
God— he really did that. He put a ring on it. It was his name next to yours, his rings on your hand, his bed you share, and his forever you spend with. Four years and more to come, but Reo was certain he would never get over it.
Before his rationality left him and wrecked his own plans, Reo caressed your back, his hands moving dangerously low down your hip and giving it a squeeze, “Still wanna hear it from you though,” he mumbled softly against your lips, “So, what do you say in letting this poor man take you on a date as his valentine?”
You drew closer to his hold, your arms finding their place around his neck, hands occupied with the flowers now resting on his back, “I say,” you pressed your lips as if trying to think, “I’d like some kiss and maybe hear a please first—”
You couldn’t even finish teasing him because in a heartbeat, Reo closed the distance, seizing your lips in a fierce, hungry kiss drowning out the sound of words with an intensity that left no room for second guessing his invitation. Nothing about Mikage Reo was silent and subtle– not even when he kissed you. It had to be breathless, deep, urgent, and parting your lips in surrender.
His hands found their way, trailing with purpose along your spine, while his other traced the curve of your jaw with a feather-light touch. Teasing fingers then tangled in your hair, pulling you closer, desperate for more.
He pulled back first, leaving you light-headed. He flashed you one smirk, lips almost melting into yours.
“Please?”
Fuck. You didn’t need to be asked thrice. You nodded your head aimlessly, earning a chuckle from him. “Go then, pack some clothes. Our jet is waiting for us.”
“Jet? Did you mean car?” Where the hell was he taking you to use a jet for?
Seemingly reading the question on your face, he answered, “I know what I said, love. We’re going to Paris.”
“What?!” you exclaimed, squirming from his hold completely, “We could just dine somewhere close, Reo.”
Now, who told you he only had dinner in mind? Who did you take him for? You shouldn’t be surprised anymore— there’s nothing in this world that would come close to the satisfaction he got from spending lavishly on you. It was a reminder that he could and most certainly would give you everything you wanted. “You don’t like Paris?”
You tried to reason, heavy on the try so it seemed because you soon realized it was a mistake clarifying your point, “I mean, I do but—”
“I think I heard enough, love,” a sheepish smile formed on his lips, “I’ll wait for you here, alright?”
You rolled your eyes at him before retreating to your shared bedroom to prepare for freaking Paris. Of course, you're going. There’s really no winning against him, you’ve known that ever since. He longed to prove to you that he always had the irresistible charm of making you say yes.
Not that you'd ever thought of saying no. The ring weighing your finger down could attest to that.
