The Hamburg Ballet is now touring in Japan. I attended generalprobe, premiere and last performances of “La dame aux camélias” 1, 2&4 February. In this masterpiece of ballet of 20th century, Ms. Alina Cojocaru made her come back to the stage from her maternity leave as its leading role, Marguerite Gautier. Alina visualized the heroine not only outside but also inside of her, let the audiences experience the Marguerite’s emotional journey and her life, love and death. So I feel like witnessed her tragedy beside of her with intimacy and deeply mourned for her last moment. At the same time, Marguerite’s life was tragedy but at least she died in experience of the one true love... Alina convinced me like that. Alina is one of the greatest ballerina-actress in our time as we knew since long before but now her maturity is superb. Our standing ovations after performances lasted long (10min. or more?), we enthusiastically celebrate Alina’s comeback, great performance of the company and musicians, and great work of Mr. John Neumeier. #alinacojocaru #ladameauxcamélias #ladameauxcamelias #hamburgballet #johnneumeier

My first ballet concerts for 2018 was "Le Grand Gala" @TheaterOrb in Shibuya, Tokyo. I enjoyed 3 performances of them. All the 5 dancers were so beautiful but especially Mr. Mathew Ganio and Ms. Dorothee Gilbert were breathtakingly gorgeous and artistically matured. They are genuinely Les Étoiles. #ballet #legrandgala #mathewganio #dorotheegilbert In crepuscule sky, between the buildings, we could see Mt. Fuji far aback from Shibuya city. Authentic.
