Persephone revisits her exchange with Erebus during the dream experiment in this week's Lore Olympus...

Persephone knew she had to give something up to get the authority and power of the Underworld. I applaud her for asking what was taken from her, even if Erebus didn't tell her.

Erebus' words are a little confusing here. When Erebus mentions "the very place where life began", most would be inclined to think of the Mortal Realm, but is that correct?

If we go by Judeo-Christian texts, the first mortals were formed from the earth. There is the line "from dust you came, and to dust you shall retun." That's explains mortals, but what about gods?

"The place many have turned their backs on" could be interpreted as the Underworld. No one likes thinking about death or where the dead go. There's no sunlight there, and yeah, it's a dreary place. Persephone doesn't want to abandon either realm, because both, in their ways, ARE her home.

These 2 particular shots are thought-provoking. The first one is like a mirror, showing the 2 sides/realms that Persephone is a part of. The second image, I presume, is her getting the one-time power to beat the shit out of Kronos.

Hades wants to do right by his wife and his realm. It's a delicate balance. He knows he has fucked up in the past, and he'd like to avoid doing any more of that if he can help it.

This just reinforces that those texts were all Kronos. Hades is also aware of the very real possibility that Persephone caught some of that conversation with Leuce.

The best thing he can do in this situation is to address it right away with Persephone. They have been great about communicating concerns with one another. Let's hope that this track record of communication continues.

I realized I never posted this here. But here's my version of LO Persephone in her Dread form. In my rewrite(?), her Dream form is a gift from Erebus, she can use it when she's in the Underworld or in places of complete darkness. I based her form on Corpse Flower and a snake.

Ephai / Prometheus - Ephai was named that because i have been searching for names. Yeah the name itself didn't just appear in my head. but their nickname 'Prometheus" did!! I knew the word but never actually knew the origin so i looked it up. Lo and behold, the Implications (tm) (Prometheus is best known for defying the Olympian gods by taking fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology, knowledge and, more generally, civilization.) Well uhm. What do they mean by that

Yi Ha-neul and Yi Ae-ra - Again. I have been researching about how the korean naming system works to make sure that the names would be correct. I didn't wanna butcher them,,,,

B7E - I saw it a few years ago,,, and loved the idea of a name made out of uppercase letters and numbers,,, uooouu,,

Yi Dal (Ken and Kenix) - Yeah again. Researched to come up with Yi Dal for these two. But fun fact it was Kenix who originally was named Ken because Ken, at the time of 2021, didn't exist! Later on, lore-wise Kenix is called Kenix only because in the early story, he used to sign off as "Ken IX" for no particular reason (it was a roman numeral he signed off as Ken's name + both his birthay and his own death month. Why the hell would you do that) but others just didn't respect him nearly enough to actually read the IX as a number so they just added it to his name. Boom, you get Kenix. Yeahg

Okazaki Yaku, Xu An, Tao Yuqi, Liliosa, Alaya, Azrael, Artemis/Sora, Maude, Aridam, Achlys, Nahara - These guysies, again, had their names researched. Basically almost everyone on this list had their names researched before i have decided to pick them

Amor and Apollo - OKAY i just wanted new names for them and i just remembered these names. However Apollo'sdoes have at leeast some degree of Implications and possibly Amor's so ???

Rosemary - I just liked the name. Beautiful woman with a plant name :]

Alionora and Ruby - okay so they are part of the trio of characters based off my bestfriends! :] which is why we went with names related to them (Alionora is a modified version of the name and Ruby is the name of the other friend's cat cuz kitties ^_^)

Aileth - The last one of the trio previously mentioned. This time, the name has been found through googling and figuring out which name both of us liked

Kamaria and Inzhu - THE TWIN GIRLIES!!! Wanted to rename them based on their nationality (that i projected onto them) and so i picked Kamaria and Inzhu because i liked them and Inzhu meant Pearl :)

Jef - There is no reason actually. I just liked it and so i gave it to the 8 yr old child. Shrimple as that ^_^

Agatha - because. Agatha from Dark Deception. I named her that back in my severe DD obsession ehfjehdejeh

Arai/Erebus and Inspiration - ??? Bro i have no idea how i get their names. Just these unknown eldritch horror beings with (random) names.

Nemesis, Yakov, Yuriy, Eda, Rina - I just. Felt like it. Remembered the names and decided "Hm yeah you guys are getting named this now"

Chapter two of the Demigod With Many Names >:]

Chapter 2:

I WATCH A DOG EAT A POMEGRANATE

I don't usually cry (which is a lie). But when I did, I accidentally envelope my entire surroundings in a five foot radius of pure darkness (courtesy of my literal, primordial grandpa, Erebus).

'Jacks... are you okay? You've been crying for a good ten minutes,' My wonderful -but terrible at consoling people- boyfriend from the Demeter cabin, Tyler said softly. 'Lou Ellen, and Connor are starting to get worried...' He said as he poked the edge of the darkness.

I created a small window in the Crying Void, patent pending, so I can look at him. 'Why aren't they hanging out with Will?- Or Nico. Whichever. Take a pick.'

'Funny you say that actually.' He said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

I poke my head through the hole and look around the Demeter cabin. Sure enough, Nico, Lou Ellen, Connor, and Tyler are standing around me. Nico was playing with the shadows -which, of course he was- while Tyler was trying to hide Connor and Lou Ellen's current argument.

'No! I'm not disguising you in the Mist so that way you can trick the Poseidon cabin into thinking a Siren broke in.' Lou Ellen said sternly.

'Come on! It'll be fun! Think about it, Percy's gonna freak out, then he's gonna be all super soaker mode and stuff!' Connor pleaded on the floor, slowly crawling to Lou Ellen's leg and grabbing onto it. 'Ple-e-e-e-ase?'

Nico hits him on the head. 'Enough Connor. Stop messing around. We're here for Jacks, remember?'

'Fine!' Connor sighs, holding the spot where Nico bonked him. 'But this isn't over "Louie." And you didn't need to hit me on the head so hard! For a scrawny, emo boy, you're freakishly strong.'

'Thank you.'

'That wasn't a compliment.'

Nico shrugs.

'Ahem!?' Tyler cleared his throat loudly to get their attention. 'Focusing on the wrong emo!'

'Rude,' I add in. 'But not far off. Nice job, honey.'

'Thank you.'

I sniffled, wiping my eyes and my nose with a tissue I had in my pocket. Why did I have a tissue in my pocket? Not sure. When did I get it? Again, not sure. Was it clean and unused? Surprisingly yes.

'Anyways. What are you three doing here?' I wasn't sure how I said it, but it was probably harsher than I meant it to be. 'I get Tyler being here, but not you guys.'

'Well..." Connor started.

'We heard you got suspended for not being able to deal with a patient that wasn't there,' Nico continued for him. 'I'm not entirely sure why Will would do that though...'

'He's a cool guy and all, but he's been acting strange recently.' Lou Ellen added.

'All the immortals, and some of the Half-Bloods are also acting strange.' Tyler said worriedly. 'Especially Chiron and Mr. D.'

My heart dropped, and skipped a worried beat. The shadows around me faltered, turning into a dark mist and falling to the top of my knee, not coming back up. Nico raised and eyebrow, but I think he decided not to comment on it. 'What do you mean?' I finally managed.

'Well, Chiron has been showing more... Romanic centaur behavior.' Nico replied quickly. As much as the kid (we're technically the same age) freaked me out, he was surprisingly chill. Probably because he mostly didn't care most situations, or because he wasn't sure what to do in most situations. Either way, I'm not inviting him to my funeral if I die.

'Meaning he's becoming a ruthless killing machine and eats meat?' I asked, condescending in tone.

'Shut up.' Nico glared at me, which wasn't very fun. 'But technically yes. He's becoming more erratic, sending untrained kids on extremely dangerous quests. More and more kids are disappearing due to the Harpies-'

'Wait- What?!-'

'Not important,' Nico continued as he started fidgeting with his skull ring, pacing back and forth as the plants around him started dying and took on a more brownish color. 'What's important is what's happening to Mr. D.'

'Well what's happening to Mr. D?' I asked with my hand raised.

'I will tell you how long it will be until you die. Then make it much shorter,' He threatened me calmly. 'Sorry, I didn't mean that... entirely. Just stop interrupting me.'

I put my hand down slowly.

'Anyways,' He continued. 'Mr. D has gone completely off the rails. He's turning kids into animals, mostly dolphins. He's created a camp wide mania surge that's making almost everyone paranoid and on the verge of doing a literal killer mosh pit, all while sending shipments, upon shipments of leopards and releasing them into the forest.'

'Courtesy of the amazing, wonderful Amazon workers,' Connor added, followed to a swift, loud slap to the back of the head by Lou Ellen.

'That's for calling me "Louie", dill hole.' She sneered.

I'm not sure if it was payback for earlier, and she found the perfect time to do ot, or it just registered Connor called her Louie.

'Anyways,' I say while scooting away from Connor and Lou Ellen. 'What should I do about it? There's no way I can help a missing camper, let alone a god and a horse person.'

Nico shifted uncomfortably. 'How about something smaller... Like... Will?' He said in a small voice.

I rolled my eyes, feeling my anger that I subsided for Will slowly rising up as Nico suggested that. 'And why should I?! Will fired me, took away my license, and kicked me out of my own cabin!' My eyes stung. I could feel the tears start to come up again. The shadows at my knees began to stir, becoming spikey waves in a sea of shadows. 'He was my brother! The first person I knew that would understand that I came from a different time, and would need guidance.'

Nico reached out towards me, stepping into the shadows and grabbing my arm. 'Jacks, you know what I-' He winced and pulled away, noticing my eyes were glowing. Their usual two-toned light orange and brown, replaced by a soft, glowing neon green. He got distracted by my eyes that he forgot my skin was literally ice cold to the touch.

You know when you wet your fingers and touch an ice cube you just pulled out of the freezer, and it freezes the liquid on you hand and sticks to your skin? If you haven't, try it, and come back to this chapter. Anyways, that's what it reminded Nico of.

The floor cracked open, and a hand sprung out from the ground. Not even I was expecting that. The shadows sunk into the ground, making the green glow coming from it to dim down. My eyes stopped glowing.

Unfortunately, though, the now golden glowing image of a Lyre above my head, didn't. The zombie kept crawling out of the ground, as the strings to the lyre broke. The lyre broke, the wood turning back into tree. An image of a pomegranate falls from one of the branches, hitting the "ground." A three headed dog eats the pomegranate, sitting down like a guard dog would.

Nico's eyes widen, his whole body faltering. 'You- How-' He takes a few steps back, tripping over the zombie and almost falling into the hole in the floor. Luckily, Tyler managed to make a flower with Lou Ellen making the flower as big and strong as possible using magic, and Connor bending it down so Nico could land safely on it.

'Jacks...' Nico said after complete silence. 'You just got reclaimed by- by-' He stuttered.

'Hades...' I finish his sentence.

A knock is heard on the door, and we all look over. Leo walks in holding two cartons of ice cream and two spoons. 'Hey Jacks, I heard you got fi-' Leo drops the ice cream on the ground as he looks around the cabin in shock, finally noticing what happened. 'Sorry, is this a bad time?'

'Really Leo?' The five of us say in unison. 'Does it look like a bad time?'

Leo looks at the glowing image of Cerberus above my head. 'There's a story here... not sure if I wanna know it, but darn rootin' tootin' I'm staying for it.' He says with a big grin.

And thus ends Chapter 2.

I really hope you guys like it, these are always so fun to make, and I get to deal with my mind gremlins that bug me all the time 'bout this stuff

I have been in a hades bump for a while I just thought up a room boss set up featuring Necro as a boss ( Context she was sentenced to X number of years in the underworld for crimes in the mortal world and Hades as per his word would shave off a chunk of that sentence if she kills Zag when he tries to escape)

Her boss room is rare and usually is found Asphodel. If Zag wins ( Necro adapts and uses a different play style ) if Necro wins, she will still remain in that style.

Just curious what would Zagreus do in your au when it comes to her prison sentence

It sounds a bit like the Erebus room in Hades to me (which you can only access if it is the right temperature), or in any case like the apparitions of Thanatos. Occasional in Asphodel, but not very normal.

Zagreus probably like with certain bosses, may have a certain level of affinity with Necromancer either to have more information about escape routes, gifts in exchange, or stories from the surface (it is probably from Necromancer that Zagreus learns the existence of birds🤣 ).

Similarly to Sisyphus during the game, it is most likely that Necromancer will be freed from her pact with Hades that binds her with chains to Asphodel, but she decides to carry out her sentence so as not to provoke Zeus and, in addition, have more knowledge of the others important figures of Greek medicine (and necromancy).

In Dead Royalty, Zagreus takes advantage of his good relationship with Necromancer to make her part of Consort/reader's personal guard, along with Achilles, Patroclus, etc.

You could say that Necromancer is the one who notices Zagreus' dark aura the most since he killed his father and who acts most cautiously (not in an obvious way) to avoid losing the favor of his now BOSS.

If Zagreus is a yandere to consort/reader, their best bet is probably the Necromancer's help, as she could even give them undead guards to escort them secretly from Zag, but they also has to make sure she doesn't return them in when things get tough. make it difficult

Necromancer is a friend, but she can be your worst enemy. So, be aware.

de forma similar a Sisifo durante el juego, lo mas probable es aue Necromancer sea liberada de su pacto con Hades que la ata con cadenas a Asphodel, pero decide cumplir su sentencia para no provocar a Zeus y, además, tener mas conocimientos de las otras figuras importantes de la medicina griega(y necromancia).

en Dead Royalty, Zagreus aprovecha su buena relación con Necromancer para que ella sea parte de la guardia personal de Conorte/lector, junto a Aquiles, Patroclo, etc.

podrias decir que Necromancer es quien mas nota la aura oscura de Zagreus desde que mato a su padre y quien actua de forma mas precavida(no de foema obvia) para evitar perder el favor de su ahora JEFE.

si Zagreus es un yandere por consorte/lector, probablemente su mejor apuesta sea la ayuda de Necromancer, ya que ella podria incluso darle guardias no muertos para escoltarla a escondidas de Zag, pero también tiene que asegurarse de que no la entregue cuando las cosas se pongan difíciles.

Necromancer es una amiga, pero puede ser tu peor enemiga. Así que, ten cuidado.

Lore Olympus Episode 254 Spoilers

So, Apollo succesfully poisoned Zeus and, through a series of extremely convenient coincidences, has managed to get Eros and Psyche, the only two deities who know it was him, out of the way for now.

Does he...

A) ...keep away from the scene of the crime, so as to not be associated or draw suspicion onto himself

B) ...pretend to not know what Zeus is afflicted with and call emergency services together with Hebe to feign being a worried son so that he's less likely to be suspected by the authorities

or C) ...unecessarily frame someone else with no solid evidence whatsoever and call not medical services or the police, but the media, in the process getting as many eyes on him as possible which is the last thing a murderer should want?

If you picked anything other than C), congratulations.

Not only do you still have some good faith left for this comic, you're also a better writer than RS. (Not that the last one is a high bar to cross.)

You know, one of the few gods on Olympus who has absolutely no reason to want Zeus dead and gone.

If you absolutely needed to frame someone (which, just as a side note, you absolutely didn't) why not choose the war deity who everyone knows gets regularly banished to the Mortal Relam because of how much he doesn't get along with Zeus???

I mean, the best explanation I can think of is that this is supposed to reference how Hebe lost her position as cupbearer of the gods because of Apollo in one version of the myths, but if that is the case... wow, that's an extremely contrived and clumsy way to incorporate that into LO.

So, Persephone's deal with Erebus somehow altered her powers and now she can no longer make plants grow and only causes cold and decay whenever she tries.

And the winter that was essentially Demeter's power play in the original myth is now not only given to Persie but made into a terrible consequence of wanting power for herself. To save everybody she loved, might I add.

So empowering.

And as always when Persie screws up, she does what she does best:

Cry foul and beg someone else to fix it, then throw a tantrum when said someone else actually does try just that.

RS really misses no chance to try and villainize Demeter. Even if Demeter is absolutely, completely, undeniably in the right, she always has to be the eeevil mother-in-law making Hades feel bad.

And that's no different here.

Demeter is right, this is Hades' fault.

If he'd kept his damn mouth shut about the pomegranates or at least elaborated on the price one has to pay to get the Underworld's power, maybe his noveau riche wife wouldn't currently be killing all life in the Mortal Realm.

And the way he doesn't even try to dissuade Persie from "helping" and just watches as she keeps making everything worse because "lulz, I'm not gonna be a controlling husband and stop my wife from killing people".

But hey, this is the same guy who rewarded Persie with sex for breaking and entering and making death threats against a nymph. At least we're keeping it in-character. /s

Oh look, Persie has conveniently passed out from the strain so she won't have to deal with the direct consequences of her actions.

Wonder what kind of deus ex machina will absolve her of all responsibility this time.

okay imma be honest with you, i had to google where tf is Georgia. now according to the legend camlamn was in Cornwall, and Georgia is also in cornwall. now i can see your thought process on as to why you chose a place in that region, and i thought about that too yes but not very clearly so ig you will now see my thought process.

excalibur was left in that london museum, after that they are at erebus's house. so far it hasn't been mentioned where erebus lives, but the northern chapter is in that castle in georgia so ig that's where you say it but if the shadow king did leave briana there i mean wouldn't people of the northern chapter notice?? like they came to the southern chapter under the circumstances but not all of them are here, obviously at least a few would be staying there.

now assuming erebus's house was somewhere around georgia, the shadow king would still want to keep briana safe and not under the pure assumption of "they wont look for her in their house". and also, he had changed his face in front of nick, so that is another question because who tf did he look like to nick?? and would nick remember the face and try to find connections?? or would he end up at the dead end of this person's death.

and again there is the legend. shadow king would either love the place because arthur died there, and yk he is planning to kill bree so its only fitting she dies there (according to him obviously), but there are also chances that he does not want any obvious connections to trace back to him so he chooses some place entirely different as bree's permanent residence. or maybe erebus also has his house somewhere remote or unrelated yk like a safehouse.

overall there are chances bree is in georgia or broadly speaking at least in the europe part yk.

i have a very random thought that bree is going to find the shadow king's crown or some relic of it because in the arthur's dream sequence we saw it was yk dying slowly because its caster was dead but lo and behold shadow king did not die he still exists, and there definitely is a shadow court as well so it is possible that he has a new crown?? that bree stumbles upon?? i am just projecting but i think its cool. and ofc that dagger on the cover, i am so so damn curious about it because it is on the cover it definitely has something to it

as everybody is saying, possibly there could be two povs?? but i mean i was thinking like three povs because yk storyline is split into three rn. 3/4th part would be bree ofc but like yeah a few pov chapters here and there. or if they do make it two povs i think it will either be nick or william as a reliable narrator (selwyn is quiet literally out of bounds rn so). since second case is more likely so yeah i don't think we will see a brelwyn reunion till like third or fourth part.

I wanted ask about the family trees in Rekindled, if you'd ever put out a post on how everything is lined up. Who is who's parent, like is Eris a child of Zeus and Hera or Nyx and Erebus.

So in Rekindled, the gods aren't created through 'traditional' means like mortals are. While they definitely have relations with one another and some have been born from sexual interactions, it's the fusion of their powers and the elements assigned to them that creates new gods rather than, y'know, the mortal way of making babies. Thus they don't share any DNA that would make them blood-related, however they do share some similarities in how their powers manifest depending on who created their predecessors!

That said, here's the 'family tree' in Rekindled, with some info on how they were created!

(*note that not every god / goddess / etc. who will make an appearance in Rekindled is on this family tree, I'm just trying to avoid spoilers as best I can while also providing info; on the flipside, not everyone included on here will necessarily play a role or even appear in the story - including Hyperion and Theia - they're just listed for the sake of clarity and worldbuilding)

As for Eris, I'm not actually planning on including her much in Rekindled as her role in LO is already reduced to that of a McGuffin to explain Persephone's wrath. She absolutely deserves to have her story told but I feel like it would be better saved for something adjacent to or involving the Trojan War / The Illiad rather than forcing her into Rekindled where she already doesn't have anything to do with the rewriting of the Act of Wrath.

That said, in the spirit of answering your question, with how we've done it in Rekindled, she can technically be 'both' a creation a Nyx / Erebus and Zeus / Hera - given a physical form by the union of Zeus and Hera, but with traits passed down to her through their lineage that connects all the way back to the primordial beings. But a more sensible answer is that I'm honestly sticking with the Zeus / Hera version, as Rekindled is still retelling Homer's The Hymn to Demeter and so I try to use as much of Homer's source material as possible while taking elements from other poets as needed. There's loads of sources to choose from so I work with the ones that connect best to tell a coherent story, with a predominant amount of sources coming from Homer, Hesiod, and the Orphic hymns.
