This made me think of a whole AU about how it’s said in the show that the ring flew into the closest available and suitable host host(Ao Lie) BUT what if Ao Lie wasn’t strong enough to host it and the ring flew out (very quickly so Wukong doesn’t know where) to find a strong enough host that it could fuse with and found the Stone Egg MK was born from. It fuses with the egg and develops with MK and eventually when he is forced to hatch, no one knows the fire is with him.

Wukong looks for it, he knows that it would find a very strong host but if Nezha, DBK, and the pilgrims, weren’t strong enough, he wants to know who is. (Wukong isn’t an option as of now because I don’t believe he wouldve let it happen at that point and also he’s just built different)

In season three when he does find out that MK carries the ring, he is confused. His successor had power before he met him? Was he that strong? Why hadn’t he mentioned that?

Wukong begins searching for answers in secret. Leading to the scenes in season four where he’s tearing through the scroll for answers and keeps coming back to the stone, eventually he finds out that MK was born from it, he’s not as shocked as others are when he sees MK glitching. So he probably knows by then that MK was born from the stone.

The angst there can be if MK were to be the fourth ring instead somehow

A small part of me just imagined Sun Wukong and Macaque doing a podcast where they correct and tell the stories of JTTW and before from their point of view.

While it probably took a bit of encouragement to get Wukong to agree, especially if they're filming themselves, and not just doing audio, Macaque is probably all for it, since he could do a little shadow play during filming.

Tang is a big fan/follower, but is not allowed nearby while they film/record, because he might just ask endless questions instead of letting them tell the stories.

They might try to get others on to tell their sides, like DBK, PIF, Nezah, and others. Cooperation may vary.

Yes both of these titles are ripped from Penelope's lyrics,(I said I would try not to take titles directly from lyrics but I never said I would try very hard) I really need help I can't decide, they're both too good.

if it wasn’t clear only the cuff remains when the weapon isn not summoned. Kind of a in-between from completely summon it like macaque and keeping it hidden like wukong does. Also as his shadow powers grows, he will able to extend/stretch/widen the staff more like the normal ruyi bang.
