heaven fairy (Tiānxiān) is the local tutelary god of the Heavenly Orchard

She is in charge of keeping the Heavenly Orchard in good working.

I like to think that she is like the boss of Peach Maidens or at least in a higher rank than them

She and Sun Wukong became friends when he was given the task of guarding the immortality peaches.

Journeytober Day 2: Ghost

Went Shadows Under the Peach Tree ( LMK ) with this one, Mengtao perishes during the Journey to the West and Wukong is haunted by the ghost of his lost love when he finally returns to the mountain.

Thought: Wukong and Erlang are actually super chill with each other but PRETEND to hate each other around strangers so no one starts asking inconvinuent questions like "Hey, why did you let so many monkeys on FFM go if you were supposed to burn the place to the ground?" And so they end up having conversations like:

Erlang: Seriously? Your successor had the same name as my dog? Dude, that's so funny.

Wukong: I told you, it's not the same, they're spelled different!

Erlang: But they still sound the same.

Wukong: Gods, you're so-

Erlang: Hey, someone's coming, get in character!

Wukong: UNBELIEVABLY PRETENTIOUS! I HATE YOU WITH ALL OF MY BEING!

Erlang: NOT AS MUCH AS I HATE YOU, MONKEY!

Mac: Guys, chill it's just me.

Definitely.

You see... Erlang was a big brother-figure to Wukong when the monkey started working for the stables and later the orchard. But they had a Big falling out because of the celestial war, the ensuing fight on FFM, and the capture that led the Monkey King into the Furnace.

Even with an uncomfortable reunion in Jttw to fight the Nine-Headed Monster - Erlang and SWK's brotherly bond still holds. Wukong knows that his bro wouldn't have burnt FFM unless no other miltary option was available to him; in Wukong's mind it was either the fire on the mountain, or it would have been complete annihilation of his fellow monkey yao from Heaven.

Fun fact: one chinese media theory I read mentioned that Erlang's "mercy" to the monkeys of FFM was likely to warn/evacuate them before the fires were set by Heaven - hence why so many monkeys survived and why Wukong welcomed him with open arms later on.

Even with the following debacle of "The Lotus Lantern" (a tale which Erlang Shen was the antagonist, though not without reason), the demi-god and monkey yao still consider eachother brothers.

The issue in the modern day, especially in the LMK verse? Status in Heaven.

Erlang and his sworn brothers were barely considered mortal mercenaries to the Celestial Realm before the war. Afterwards though? He became a Heavenly General. Outclassing even the Pagoda King in military respect. It was an insane promotion for the demi-god. He's now working directly with his uncle, the Jade Emperor, and is privy to the true cruelty the royals can dish out.

And exactly what the Emperor and Queen Mother think of his brethern.

To reference the most chilling scene in animation history (Prince of Egypt):

Jade Emperor: "Oh my boy... they were only mortal."

Erlang Shen can't risk the world knowing his true thoughts. How much he cares about his wild little brother. How much he actually knows is going on.

Yang Jian doesn't want to lose another sibling.

So yeah, in public the two pretend to hate eachothers guts. Only the Plum Hill boys themselves + Xiaotian Quan actually know that the two meatheads are thick as thieves. It takes Macaque a while to understand why Wukong dares to associate with the man who "burned our home". But a few incidents in the coming years leads Macaque to realise that the all-seeing God is deliberately ignoring some intel that could have spelled disaster for their new family.

Erlang (has the Third Eye): "The Harbringer's presence is still lurking on Earth. You, the Six Eared Macaque have been returned to the world of the living after so long. Not only that, but you and the Monkey King are living in secrecy among demons and humans alike raising a child of unknown powers..."

Macaque: *poised to start fighting*

Erlang: "...It's none of my business either way. Congrats on the baby, and your reunion as well. Bro would not stop talking about you when he was drunk." *leaves a baby-shower gift*

Macaque (has lie-detecting ears): "What the..."

Btw Erlang is def the type of (sworn) uncle to unironically get MK a dog toy as a baby shower gift. ("What? You'll thank me when he starts teething.")

What would an LMK AU be like, where Nezha takes MK to the celestial realm to become a celestial warrior?

As a baby or during the show? I'll do five for each.

Baby AU:

The person who abandons Qi Xiaotian sends a quick prayer to Nezha, as the god of children, to protect Xiaotian. Nezha senses Xiaotian's power and ends up sneaking down to present himself as baby Xiaotian's worried older brother.

Qi Xiaotian is lonely, since people figured out a lot quicker that he's a celestial monkey and keep their . The Jade Emperor makes sure he's well-educated, but Nezha's really the only person who talks to him day to day.

Erlang Shen did try to take custody of Xiaotian, but Li Jing insisted on Nezha being the one to take care of Xiaotian since he was the one who brought him to Heaven.

Nezha feels guilty, since Xiaotian is so alone, but he has his own duties.

Xiaotian ends up guarding the peach orchard.

During the Show:

Nezha's full report reveals Xiaotian's presence to Heaven and the Jade Emperor decides to take him before there's a second Heavenly Havoc.

Xiaotian refuses at first, leading to a cell and a filet of his own.

Li Jing and Erlang Shen are both called to train him and do so pretty harshly (Li Jing to prevent another Havoc, Erlang because Xiaotian has proven to be willing to cause chaos).

Wukong is furious. Pigsy is furious. Long Xiaojiao is furious.

Nezha's counting his days.

LMK Heaven Needs Work Theories / Season 5 Ideas!

The heavens of the Lmk universe has been in need to fire some guards or update protocols. With the death of the Jade Emperor, they should know it's the time. I made them and us a small map of needed changes and more mistakes they've made. The episode the Revenge of the Spider Queen is the best example of this.

When the crew and Red s\Son sneaked around the palace, Peach orchard, and the alchemy lab is the best example of how low the security of the palace is. How mortals were able to sneak around the place is extraordinary.

They parked a huge ship at the front entrance, demons were running ramped around loudly, the orchard was being trampled, the lab had dangerous viles spilled and dark magics unleashed, and even worse the security that was there the lion guards were activated and running after intruders. None of this was quiet this was a huge amount of noise in a very quiet environment.

But where were the guards, the guys in charge of protecting this place? Why with all this noise was no one reacting to it. Either they got overconfident in their powers and did not see anyone else as being a real threat and did not have their guards out at all times. This is my most thought theory for it because they have shown time and time again to be overconfident and think they are the biggest fish in the pond.

The other theory is there was something going on at another place, either at another building in the realm or in further parts of the palace. A big event might explain it if they were loud enough maybe. It might also explain the lack of just other beings sure we saw some maidens and maybe scholars but other than that no other gods or goddesses were around.

Some might say it's just a show thing but Megaopolis has a lot of background art and characters this could have been a chance to have shown more of their ideas of the heavenly realm. A guard in armor a known figure or two just sneaking around. They did not do that here. Why?

ALSO with the aftermath of this damage, I thought of FIC IDEAS or even POSSIBLE IDEAS for SEASON 5 it's whichever you think it is!

With the Jade Emperor gone the realm need a new emperor but into someone can handle the power a full true leader might not be chosen for a bit. However, they might have a temporary leader until then. My thoughts instantly go to Erlang Shen.

We did not get to see much of him except for a few scenes. But this could be the chance. With how things work in the celestial realm they would most likely have the temporary Emperor aka Erlang Shen be handling issues like the aftermath of the Camel Ridge Trio's invasion, LDB, and most of all the crew's "rampage" through the palace and their "thieving". With their strong sense of what is right or wrong. The crew might be put on trial for all the destruction but with no thought of their good motives and reasons.

Maybe seeing too many parallels like many of Sun Wukong's former opponents have between MK and Wukong, they might feel threatened. Then my mind went to the golden fillet. it's how they handled Sun Wukong before why should it not work again for MK right? (That's their opinion not mine.)

But I also thought of Wukong getting blamed or taking the blame for what the others did while he was tied up. I can see the dragon lords getting mad and blaming Wukong for Mei's actions because he "obviously influenced her." NOT seeing that's just Mei's personality. With a conflict against heaven for the next season I can see more explanations of Wukongs actions during his time there and maybe, even more, incite into what happened during the "betrayal".

He was immortal before the peaches tho. He went on an Epic Quest for immortality & found someone to teach him how to immortal & also the 72 transformations, etc. Time will tell if all that’s canon to LMK, but there you go.

but that wasn’t like. a full immortality yknow??

like, the definition of immortality in chinese myth isn’t “never dying” its “extended life”. you still have a life span, it’s just a lot longer. which is why the celestials have the peaches and wine and all that, to keep extending their lives.

even after Wukong became immortal the first time, he got brought to the underworld and the book of the dead said he’d still die in around 360 years (i think, it was something like that). But then Wukong crossed his name out, which means there is no longer an exact year for his death.

and then he ate an orchard full of immortality peaches and drank heavenly wine and consumed untested immortality pills. there’s literally no way to tell how long he’ll live, which is probably why he says “I never thought I’d live this long.” (he also probably started thinking more about death when the rest of the JTTW crew died and reincarnated without him).

we still don’t know what year Monkie Kid is set in by the way. it could be a lot further in the future than we tend to assume it is, considering the gravity arcade and goddamn weather controlling satellite. if it was set in 2020, Wukong would only be around 2000 years old, but if it’s even further in the future we have no way of telling.

Reuniting with Mengtao was something Sun Wukong didn't think would happen again. mortal and with no memory of her past life, Wukong had to remind himself of those things. He would have to win her heart all over again.

At least with his Gold Vision, he could keep an eye on her this time. It wouldn't happen again if he had anything to say about it.
