OKAY I LOVE DINAHBOOSE obv I've been into this musical for a total of 2 weeks or so- so I'm still scrounging every bit of Information on these guys that I can. And I've done wayyy more research on CB than I have Dinah ( he has a lot more to look at though ) but these two just make sense to me. They just make sense. Opposites but not opposites. They are confusing and they are both confused. But at least they can hold hands while confused.

Personally I struggle to ever hate or dislike ships unless there's like a blindingly obvious reason to dislike a ship. But dinahboose is probably my second favorite ship so far for StEx ( Electraboose has 1st place and Krupp/purse has 3rd )

Totally not gonna use this to talk about my personal rewrite of StEx.. specifically C.B. because I don't want to make a post just for it LMAO.

So yeah I've been basically studying C.B. ( or, I guess caboose because he hasn't been called C.B in a long time... but C.B has more personality.. ) and my version of C.B. is probably a horrible amalgamation of OLC and 2015 Bochum. Because I love radio aesthetics and the Dinah friendship but I also love the toy soldier aesthetic and absolutely batshit laugh ( I also love it when C.B. is played by somebody too flexible for their own good ) hes just a glorified circus clown on wheels with a radio set strapped to his head.

And I wish I could pretend that I understand cutting him but I do and I don't and I do. Because I honestly feel like C.B in the original does more than Electra lmao. But I don't think cutting people is the solution most the time tbh.

Okay onto more half asleep rambling that is likely to change because I'm still in the early stages of this rewrite. But. I recognize that C.B. has some issues. The one most of my friends point out is that he seemingly has no motive. He just... Is silly I guess. And I think this is a bit funny because I do like an antagonist with the motive of " it would be funny " , but at the same time. Kind of hard to make that character very ...er... Well I'll just say it does get a bit boring.

Something I also heard was that in the reasons C.B. has been cut was because caboose's aren't exactly used anymore, which is totally fair!

But could also totally be a motivation! Think about it, why is C.B still working? Still working with the freight despite essentially being useless? Because greaseball wants to keep him around to use him for cheating. Easy! Obviously none of this could easily be translated to the show. But for some comics/writings? Yes. Yes.

Think about it. Rusty is struggling, he feels a bit useless because steam is falling behind! So he tries to win and prove himself. But who else feels useless because of their job being replaced? C.B. but unlike rusty, C.B takes the other path, instead of trying to be a role model and win or prove himself. He just goes down the path of crime. And hey, he's probably a crazy adrenaline junky too so he's still doing it for the fun!

And why does he betray greaseball? Plenty of reasons. C.B might dislike greaseball because of poor treatment, he might dislikes greaseball for his treatment of Dinah, he probably just wants to get the adrenaline high of betraying him in the first place. Maybe to prove that he's important and needed because if he doesn't help, greaseball will lose. And he wants to hold it over him for his own personal desire of self importance. Who knows. He's a complicated little clown he is.

Rip to Arthur tbh. He's the odd one out considering he comes from a universe based entirely in our reality, so he has no clue about aliens or super beings or anything like that. He probably checks his drink to see if it's been drugged tbh lmaooo. He's freaked out about Kurt and Thrawn, definitely needs to be talked down from either an act of violence or just running off tbh. Canary would make quite the welcoming company to talk to him tho.... He flirts his ass off with her and is extremely fascinated to hear her talk about her fighting skills.

Kurt I'm sure I disappointed, but not surprised to see Arthur freak out, but he gets it. He gravitates towards Thrawn I think. Arthur clearly doesn't like him too much and canary intimidates him lol. He wants to know all about where thrawns from and is fascinated by what he has to say. High key I feel like he's a little lost in this situation lmao. A bar is definitely not his scene, that he's not used to interacting with other people. He can be fun and sociable of course! But mostly I think he goes full wallflower until the others talk to him.

Dinah is chill as hell and charmed to meet the others. She's a married woman, so she doesn't get too cozy with the others, but she's still interested to learn about them. Low key, I think she takes a liking to Kurt in like a friendly way. She's got mom energy mid key and Kurt is a solid 10/10 poor meow meow, so it works. They have a discussion about mutants and Kurt definitely asks if she's one as well lol. Also.... She maybe flirts back at Arthur, just for the hell of it. Don't tell Oliver tho

Thrawn is used to being an intimidating presence, so the uneasy glance and Arthur's freak out lol don't bother him. He's just his stoic self and despite any I'll reception, he's just as respectful to the others as he would be to anyone else. These guys may not be from his universe, but he's the kind to never pass up on an opportunity to learn. I'd also say he's drawn to all three equally so if he can, he'll take the time to get to know them as best as the time allows.

How I feel about this character

I really love babs. It is not her only attribute, but her being a disabled superhero who acknowledges she does more as a disabled woman than she did as an able bodied woman and her life is different but maybe even better now is so important to me

I like that she genuinely learns from her mistakes and works to make things right and also like it's not easy -- when she wrongs huntress, it takes like an entire fukcing plotline or two for huntress to consider working with her again, and babs had to be like "yeah that was unequivocably wrong on my part"

I like when we see her anger or protectiveness poking through, like when she gives huntress permission to use lethal force (she says something like "do whatever is necessary") to protect tim in jokers last laugh

i love her confidence and sureness in her skills

also her kicking ass and don't forget that even in a WC she kicks ass

Dick atm but I could see getting into Dinah as well, I just haven't put a ton of thought into the latter

not unpopular with the right people but unfortunately still too unpopular with many people but: Magicuring babs was the shittiest decision dc ever made (Okay one of them -- they have a lot of competition for shitty decisions) and they handled her way more sexist and treated her more as a victim of her joker when she was AB than they ever did when she was disabled

How I feel about this character

Okay when Bruce is being well written he is a compelling character. When he is not continuously reliving the same three plotlines over and over again and he is allowed to try to be a dad to his kids (even if he messes up) it is way more compelling than whatever the fuck is going on right now

I feel like when he is a very principled but still flawed and human dude who wants to save people from ever experiencing what he did before and prevent the kids he adopts from being alone to deal with their grief that is good.

However in canon he is often not well written, he’s just a black hole that sucks down other characters and a power fantasy for boring dudes

(I don’t retcon out his romantic relationships, but they’re not like “My favorite ship” thing. They’re just there. I think most about hsi and Talia’s interactions because of my focus on Damian/ the al ghul side of things. I write him and Talia as having a romantic relationship in the past but I think by time the present rolls around Bruce would be too resentful of Talia for how she raised Damian and I think Talia would have like... “outgrown” bruce? Like he represented freedom and everything outside the league and a good genuinely nice person at the time but she’s not a young adult who hasn’t had much experience outside a cult of assassins anymore)

Bruce should just live with his family in a big house so i'm gonna say everyone.

My unpopular opinion about this character

okay so canon wise: Bruce's love interest plots are boring, all of bruce's GFs are better than he is in every single way and don't deserve to be dragged down by him, and the idea that he needs a female love interest to be happy is so heteronormative and goes against the entire appeal of the batfam

fanon: I understand why people want a purely "bruce is a good dad" characterization of him, but you would have to re-write so many other character reactions that I can't get behind it. Bruce wants to be a good dad, but he is often a shitty dad. When I write him I keep most of his mistakes canon (the ones that involve just being bad at interactions, prioritizing the mission or something else more, or being thoughtless, not the ones that involve him being cruel or downright abusive)

Specifically: any time any of his kids gets reasonably stressed or alienated from him and makes decisions based on that, if you retcon him to always having been the perfect dad it just makes them look kind of irrational and is always tearing them down to prop him up

don't forget to let the batfam be competent around him? They should not be nerfed so he can save the day. yes i am thinking of that shitty detective comics comic i read recently where everyone was like... taken out instantly by hush's goons

also, since there is no retcon for what's going on with damian: the other characters calling out Bruce on how he failed damian in nearly every way and his dumb plan got alfred killed and left Damian with that guilt and also calling him out for every time he ever hit his kids.

   How I feel about this character

I like her a decent amount. She’s not on my faves list but she’s definitely a character I appreciate reading. I especially liked when we got to see her anger and complicated feelings towards her dad (she was glad he was dead, ran away from home because her mom kept trying to comfort her) and I like her stubborness. I like how she just decided “my dad is doing bad shit and i’m the only one who can help stop him” and then went to try to stop him.

I also like how she is the first Batfam member who tries to treat Damian like a kid

(Dick didn’t do it before Steph did but I don’t think that’s a failure on his part, I’m pretty sure if he tried to treat Damian like a kid at that point he would scare Damian off)

I think there never should have been a retcon where Bruce said that he knew she was not dead all along. Say “I told you so”?

Arrow S7 Ep1 Thoughts

I haven’t watched Arrow in a long time, but watching the recap and uhhh Ricardo Diaz or whatever was the most annoying fucking bitch… the biggest reason I’m watching Arrow is because of the Elseworld’s crossover (since I stopped on the episode for The Flash) and also because the show is ending and I’d hate to not finish it after putting in six seasons so far so let’s fucking goooooooooo

- See, this is the problem I have with many shows. They use the same annoying villain for more than a season and honestly I just want the pain to fucking end. Why do you think they only have villains for a season, and then they defeat them and are never seen again? Because otherwise it gets repetitive and boring. Also low-key forgot that William was Oliver’s son. Oh… that was a nightmare Oliver was having um… well everything still applies.

- Ruelle’s songs are always amazing for badasses I love it and her!

- “Watch it, Arrow” bitch are you really going to try and fight him he’s THE ARROW. You’ve seen him fight. Stop being a little bitch. Anyway personally I was a continuous stream of “WhAT thE fUcK” the entire time I watched it. 

I have some issues with things but for anyone that’s been around a while I’m sure you guys already know lol. I haven’t hidden it that I don’t like what M’gann did to Conner prior to season 2 (because such a serious violation of Conner’s trust like that knowing the issues he has should have been treated more seriously in the show and it should have been one of those uncrossable lines), so seeing them not only back together, but now engaged made me pretty upset not gonna lie. 

ALso speaking of M’gann, while I’m glad to see her embracing her white martian status that first time we see her threw me off a lot lmao. I can’t say I’m a fan of that design but I’ll get used to it. 

But Brion though! Poor child who looks like he’s in his mid-20′s, I felt SO bad for him and Black Lightning oml. 

Also Tim! Poor Tim-tam having to suffer because Bruce came down with a major case of little bitch syndrome like idk but I’m about to beat the little bitch right outta him bc how dare. 

Also that scene where everyone’s resigning though made me love Dinah even more like she was my Queen in that scene when she told Ollie (The subtitles say “Wally” in that moment which is a funny fuck up, and tbh they are a little annoyingly wrong through the three episodes) to “just leave” like yassss FUCK Ollie how dare he do that to tasty fish snak KalDAMN’ahm (sorry that joke was awful). 

But seriously Kaldur makes me thirst for his saltwater taffy if you know what I’m sayin’. 

I think I’m running out of things to mention other than I will defend Halo with my fucking life no one comes for my child and Brucely sleeping with the Wally plushie in the end credit title was NOT okay. 

Also they took that fucking “mature theme” rating and ran this ain’t no Cartoon Network show no more hot damn. -Terra

Meanwhile, after Terra’s novel up there.

I really loved the episodes so far! Watching them felt like coming back home after a long, long, long day of work.

I do have to agree with Terra on this one, Connor deserved so much better than M’gann after what she did to him, she basically said it all. 

I loved Roy’s beard! (Opps I mean Will, fml this is gonna be hard to get used to) He’s so sexy as a dad and Lian was so cute!!

You can ask Terra and Ren, I SCREAMED when Garth came on screen when the UN meeting was taking place. I wished we saw more of him during the first two seasons and even if he doesn’t stick around I’m still happy that they put him in!

It was also awesome to see Donna as well!

Halo and Brion are two precious children who need to be protected at all costs. I love them both so much so far! Artemis is gonna be a great mama to Halo

kevin’s biological mother is a noblewoman named x’nthe ( obv made up but like, presumably... for the purpose of everything, let’s say she/j’son courted each other at some point & kevin was a result of that union skjdfhjd. )

however x’nthe, after a certain point in toddler kevin’s life, ended up fucking off to star harbor, the military school of spartax, to be an instructor. of course j’son took care of the kid then ---- one son hates him, and his daughter is illegitimate, so naturally he’s going to take care of kevin the goddamn best he can in hopes of raising him up to be the future emperor

that being said, kevin received a formal schooling in his spartoi politics and military/combat, alongside being educated on other galaxies/planets and those respective empires

kevin was SPOILED ROTTEN, okay?? like, if we know anything about the spartoi, it’s that the royal fam can be extra as fuck ( as are a lot of royal families, truthfully ); even in victoria’s captain outfit, we see she wears ( what can be presumed as ) real gold. the most common color scheme of spartax is gold & maroon so we can make a p decent guess that the royal fam ( and maybe even the royal guard, tbh ) uses actual gold so ,,,

NOW, BECAUSE J’SON HAD KEVIN TREATED LIKE THE LITTLE PRINCE HE IS, KEVIN LOVED HIS DAD!!!! A LOT!!! although he wasn’t exactly aware j’son was his dad --- there was, apparently, never real reason to reiterate they clearly shared a familial bond as everyone understood it was there

except ... that’s where a mistake!!! comes in

now ... since nobody outside of spartax knew what exactly the deal was with kevin’s parentage, it was very easy to assume peter was his father... and that’s exactly what people ended up doing

SO CLEARLY THE SECOND THIS CATCHES PETER’S EARS HE’S LIKE, WHAT THE FUCK, AND INSTANTLY GOES TO SPARTAX LIKE?? HE HAS TO SEE THIS SHIT FOR HIMSELF, SINCE HE WOULDN’T PUT IT PAST J’SON TO START SOME FUCKED UP RUMOR LIKE THAT

well what do you know, there’s a 16 year old boy decked out in clothes that v much associate him to being part of the royal fam! a 16 year old boy, who looks strangely identical to peter when peter was that age

then, you know, shit happened and peter was like “yeah no fuck this, i’m taking my kid back wtf??” which… naturally, j’son wasn’t thrilled about and hONESTLY NEITHER WAS KEVIN LIKE WHAT No

WAS EXTREMELY AGAINST THE IDEA OF LEAVING SPARTAX & GOING TO TERRA ( EARTH ) W/ PETER like, peter is a stranger claiming to be his FATHER, of all things

just... kevin didn’t like it at all, but he knew it wouldn’t do any good arguing over it

ESPECIALLY SINCE in an moment of this all, j’son realized it was a chance for kevin to be safe from the danger of lurking enemies to the royal fam?? like?? damn j’son made A LOT of enemies thanks to being a horrible person and literal intergalactic warlord ok and to target his heir is a BIG THING so what better way to hide the poor kid is to ship him off to another planet in another solar system riiight

but!!! in the midst of kevin’s literal teen angst and missing spartax/j’son/etc, kitty was SO KIND TO HIM & GENUINELY LOVED HIM AS IF HE WAS HER OWN & It got him fuckin SHOOK like he never had a proper mother figure so it def solidified this relationship 10/10 like ... wow someone actually wants him :^) cuz peter was off a lot w/ the guardians a lot anyhow & although kev def tagged along at times, it was the worst bc all kevin wanted to do was go back to spartax which obv in peter’s eyes ( and the others ) was a huge no

when kevin turned 17, kitty legally adopted him as her son

KITTY DID HER FUCKIN BEST TO HELP KEVIN CATCH UP W/ SCHOOL!!! AND HE’S A QUICK/EASY LEARNER & V DETERMINED TO MAKE SOMETHING OF HIMSELF SO HE CAUGHT ON FAST & just ... it was another pure bonding moment between them that made kevin realize like, hey maybe it isn’t so awful down here...

when then kevin turned 18, kitty threw him a late bar mitzvah since after trying half-and-half so to speak of christmas / hanukkah, kevin found he identifies more with being jewish & that’s how he was then-on raised

also, peter was the one who told kevin about all the godawful things j’son has done and it did nothing but make kevin more angry at peter because how dare he rUIN THE MEMORY ?? like sure j’son is awful!! ok!! but kevin was p innocent/naive when it came to THAT bit since why ... would j’son want his only chance at a proper heir to end up hating him right haha :/

tl;dr --- kevin took a long time to stop glaring at peter whenever they were in the same room, and kevin instantly fuckin loved kitty ok

DEF DID HIS BEST TO BE A GOOD BIG BROTHER FOR DINAH, TOO!! also definitely would have babysat her often when both kitty & peter were busy i bet given the age difference

when he was 23, kitty and peter officially divorced. naturally ... he felt a lot more inclined to “take kitty’s side”, as although by this point kevin grew to love earth, peter is still responsible for totally flipping kevin’s life upside down without even asking how he felt about it all

kevin’s the teachers assistant for astrophysics and astrochemistry, and is currently working towards dual phds in both subjects ( he has ab 5, almost 4 years left )

he is... a #gaylien and proud of it ( poly/pan ); he’s currently in a relationship w/ noah dane-summers, fabian todd, and jasper harkness

his last name was changed to pryde very recently, as only a short while ago, kevin found out the truth of his parentage. j’son is his father and explained everything in a letter sent by two royal guards, as well as confirmation via some alien technology that allowed them to communicate ( u kno what i mean, like video conference type stuff idkidk lmao )

since kevin always preferred kitty to peter, even when they believed peter was his dad, it only made sense for kevin to change it legally. he had no real connection/reason to keep the quill name, in his opinion

altho he was/is still rly mad at j’son for just letting this happen and the whole “”plan”” like fuck ur plan u just lost out on nearly 13 years of raising me!!!!!!! why did u let me get taken!!!!! i thOUGHT U LOVED ME---

Who I will protect at all costs: Dinah Laurel LanceWho deserves better: Dinah Laurel LanceWho was killed off too early: Dinah Laurel Lance (and Shado, and Moira, and Amanda Waller...)Who I used to hate but now I love: I wouldn’t say hate but I wasn’t sure how I felt about Thea at first. She seemed to be written to be a bit of a brat at the beginning, and I think in a different actress’ hands it would have been unbearable. But Willa brings so much to the role and to the pain that Thea experiences from losing her family over and over and over again while still managing to remain a fun character. Thea’s easily one of the most developed characters on the show from where she started to where she is now and all I can say is I want more Speedy, damnit. Also I loathed Quentin at first and tbh he will always be very problematic but I have grown to appreciate his complexity and what it brings to the show.Who I used to love but now I hate: I still stand by Malcolm was the best villain. I’m not really here for Slade’s Shado-induced manpain and his constant targeting of women. But Malcolm sucks after s1 so now I hate him. Also Felicity gets real stale real fast after s1. And I soured on Sara despite the show really trying to make me sympathize with her in s2 because she continues to take the people who love her for granted (i.e. Laurel and Nyssa, dear god, tell the poor woman you’re not interested in a relationship anymore or something, don’t just skip off and start sleeping around all across time while she continues to call you her beloved) and she’s just generally never held accountable for anything she did thus making her seem like a very self-centered person who never thinks about anyone else’s pain and I’m not a fan of it.Who needs to be killed off asap: Malcolm Merlyn needed to die a while ago. Most Annoying Character: Felicity although Curtis is really trying to usurp her so they might tie actually.

Most badass character: Laurel or Nyssa. I love both their journeys and how it’s shaped them into the amazing people they are. But tbh almost every character on this show is some form of badass.

Character I’d like as my BFF: I’d want to be best friends with Laurel and Thea together cause c’mon they’re a package deal.Female Character I’d Marry: You can put me in an alien dream world if you want if it’d let me marry Dinah Laurel Lance.

Male Character I’d Marry: Hmmmm. Pretty much every male character currently on the show is kind of fucked up in some way or form. I’mma go Walter. Or maybe Constantine. Does Constantine count?

Character I hate/dislike/least like: Felicity purely because for inexplicable reasons they keep wasting screen time and storylines that never go anywhere on her. If she were less focused on it’d probably be Malcolm here.
