You ever get so stressed out that you're calm?
That's I feel about purgatory rn
Like I've passed the point of despair back into total serenity

Okay you guys know what? I have a theory hope for Bolas Rojas post-purgatory and I am thinking about it too hard to keep it in my head any longer.
I hope team bolas stays inseparable once they're back on Quesadilla Island and I hope it makes them worse. Most of them were pretty much at the end of their ropes before this, and I hope they go right back there. I hope their new bizarre intense packbond doesn't bring them back at all. Imagine, if you will:
Cellbit is just as directionlessly angry and team bolas only supports him in this. He keeps killing Fed workers in a fugue state and now he just has 5 people willing to hide evidence end anyone who accuses him.
Phil is still paranoid and hypervigilant and questioning his perception. All that changes is that he now has 5 people who'll help reinforce his various bunkers and prevent anyone else from attempting some kind of wellness check. (I hope they encourage him to pick targets of his fear and anger and go after them)
Charlie goes right back to Codeflippa, more aware on some level that she's not his daughter but not willing to let go. Team bolas knows she's definitely not his daughter, but after Purgatory who are they to deny him a coping mechanism? Anybody who so much as implies that he should get rid of Codeflippa faces their wrath.
Foolish and Jaiden feel much less alone (their arcs are both kinda intrinsically helped by having even the least helpful of ride-or-die companions lmao) but still try to find purpose in Federation work. Jaiden tries to cling to normalcy by her friendship with Cucurucho. And yeah, this is totally at odds with the others' alignments and politics (especially Cellbit and Codeflippa), but since when did team bolas care about consistency? They're here to help these two complete missions and keep anybody from questioning them ever.
I don't know enough to speculate on Baghera's or Carre's arcs, but you get the drift by now--I hope team bolas enables them to become their worst selves, etc. (Anybody with info/ideas on the potential consequences of Purgatory for them please let me know!)

"it's two in one, you and me. don't ever let go of what's beloved."
hey freakazoids it's rainy back at it again here with q!mikuduo, those silly socket birds i was originally just going to redo my q!wilbur cos on roblox avatar creator but then i thought i might as well make him a purgatory design!!! and then i looked at my jaiden cos and i was like: hmmmm idea! and now here we are mikuduo live in my brain rent free forever they may have like 3 documented interactions but actually they're family and whenever wilbur came back, jaiden picked him up and jostled him all over the place (source: trust e) they're siblings. they're cousins. they're best friends who watch the other's kid (i crave wilbur-bobby interactions. bobby would convince him into doing finger painting and then jaiden and roier walk in an hour later and see them just. covered head to toe in paint.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wilbur's actually there in purgatory (cause i said so) and he sits in the trees around bolas rojas' camp, quietly humming between the moments of chaos jaiden will find him and just sit underneath, singing with him until the others come back she eventually made him a rudimentary guitar. probably stole bits of charlie to hold it together lmao their battle technique is just as harmonious as well: while jaiden runs in for close-quarter combat with her katana, wilbur will shoot bolts from his crossbow to better herd and stun their prey (albeit rare, because wilbur, even in this hellscape, holds onto his pacifism to keep himself sane) wilbur offers jaiden flowers to put in her mask to mask the smell of death when she goes out--her favorites are alliums and poppies wilbur will also go out with cellbit to get news from roier, and to pass on his messages to her he cooks her potatoes after...the incident btw "I ATE IT ITS GONE ITS. GONE." and they made each other new aroace bracelets after wilbur realized he left his back at phil's house and jaiden lost hers in the commotion of the first day--it led to a full scale bracelet-making session with the whole team

purgatory one was such an irl fever dream
No One Made It Out Unscathed.
everyone on every day at the exact second the server opens, weekly or monthly streamers suddenly becoming daily streamers, chill players suddenly calculating out which food gives the best saturation or how to get 0.1% of a point better on missions, Tubbo having actual nightmares, Cellbit's voice that wasn't great at the start taking even more of a beating due to constant screaming, Roier fully losing his shit a week and a half in - leading to a completely player-driven reset of how the xp and enchantment systems were being utilised (Because Everyone Was Fucking Miserable), the point where the gay ninjas had been eliminated but not told what would happen to them so everyone was like really weirdly intensely stressed out for about 14 hours, Tubbo just being too actually psyched out to beat Phil in the 1v1, how REAL the emotions were from the creators when they finally saw their kids again and THEN THE ROOF STARTED TO CAVE IN, loads of creators just taking a full break from the server when the nuke went off with a bunch of them not returning for MONTHS, the creators later being asked if they want to join purgatory two and many being like "lmao, no ❤️" and two characters (very much main characters in terms of lore) straight up canonically dying in the nuke blast
and there was just... a vibe to it. our eggs will die if we lose. if we're not being lied to AND if we're not the cursed team. how do we know who's the cursed team? should we lose on purpose if we're not? we're obviously the cursed team (EVERY TEAM SAID THIS).
and the chatters didn't escape the psychological torture this event organically produced. our children have been missing for months at this point and it almost doesn't matter who wins because everyone is at the end of their tether and absolutely every egg could theoretically die.
Enjoy, Sinners.
