Captor 1, trying to bait Gon: You’re the boy he loves!
Killua, growing tense, then deflating: No. I’m not.
Gon in disguise with blonde wig, eyes widening: ????
Captor 2: He’s lying!
Killua, deathly serious, eyes lifeless: Gon does not, and has never loved me. I’m not lying.
Gon, glancing between Killua and their captors:... Loved...?
Kurapika and Leorio, also in disguise, looking at each other with wide eyes: ????
Captor 3, scanning Killua with his nen: Confirmed. The brat isn’t kidding.
Gon, shocked, looking to Killua with hurt in his eyes:... Killua?
Captor 2: Impossible! This is a trick! My information is correct! You are the boy who loves Gon Freecs!
Killua, eyes tearing up: Yes I am! I’ve never denied it! But who ever said he loved me back?!
Gon, shoulders falling, eyes burning:... You think... You think I don’t...?
Kurapika, seeing how horribly this is about to spiral, reaching out: Killua, that’s enough--
Killua, grinding his teeth, but stubbornly looking Captor 1 in the eye: He’s Gon! And if you think he’s anything that small or ordinary, you haven’t the first idea what you’re dealing with!
Captor 1, turning to the other two: I assure you! He is the perfect bait! When this kid is in danger, Ging’s son will always come!
Killua: Oh, you are a MORON! No he won’t! No he isn’t! Of course he isn’t! Well, go on! Scan the city, then! Wild green hair, huge fishing rod, he’s impossible to miss!
Gon, reaching out, slightly panicked: Killua--!
Killua: Go on!
Gon, getting close enough to touch him: Ki-llu-a!
Killua, sobbing openly: Scan the whole continent! He’s not! Here! God knows where he is right now, but I promise you, he’s doing whatever the hell he wants and not giving a damn about me! And I’m just fine with that!
Gon, eyes welling with tears: That’s... that’s not...
Killua: When you love Gon Freecs, it’s like loving the stars themselves! You don’t expect a sunset to admire you back!
Gon, cheeks growing steadily pinker and pinker:......
Killua, hanging his head, gasping between heartwrenching sobs: And if I happen to find myself in danger, let me tell you-- He is not stupid enough! Or sentimental enough! And certainly not in love enough to find himself standing in it with me!
Gon, silently squeezing Killua’s arm:....
Killua, panting, turning slowly to look at him:.....?
Gon, smiling softly at him, so filled with love he has no idea what to do with himself:... Killua.
Killua, slowly registering, turning red:....
Killua, pulling his arm away: Oh you are so losing that wig.
Leorio, grinning: Oh, blonde hair remind you of the sunset?
Killua: Don’t you dare--!
Gon, sly teasing grin: I’ll have to check with the stars themselves.
Killua, shoving him by the shoulder: Oh shut up! I-I was just k-keeping them talking!

“You know,” a cheerful voice called out from behind Killua. “It’s typical that people thank their heroes after they save them.”
Killua turned around. Ladybug looked strange standing in his room, the red and black pattern of his outfit standing in sharp contrast to the modern design his parents had used. Still, Ladybug stood tall in proud with a puffed chest and without an ounce of shame. It was easy for Killua to see Ladybug’s brown eyes, how they shone gold in the dim moonlight that poured from Killua’s open window, and the smile York New’s hero gave him was blinding.
It made Killua’s heart stutter just the tiniest bit.
“Oh, yeah?” he asked Ladybug as the other continued to beam at him. “And what exactly did you save me from, oh great hero? A walk home in the dark?”
“Exactly!” Ladybug put his gloved hands on his hips. “Walking home alone is dangerous, Killua. You could’ve gotten mobbed, or worse!”
“Uh huh.” Killua quirked an eyebrow, amused at his friend’s eagerness to step in and save the day. It wasn’t like Killua was in any real dangers; he’d walked home late from the library a bunch of times when he was younger, all under the guise that he had studying to do when really he was just trying to stay out of this oppressive house.
But Ladybug had other ideas, apparently.
“So…?” Ladybug asked. He was rolling back and forth on the balls of his boots now, clearly eager for something.
“So?” Killua parroted back innocently.
Ladybug pouted. “Ki-llu-a! Don’t I get a thank you?”
Killua smirked and folded his arms. “Do you? You gotta do something pretty heroic for a thank you—”
“I did though!”
“—and I don’t thank my friends, anyway,” Killua cut him off sharply. “And I definitely don’t thank my boyfriend. He gets something better.”
Killua watched as Ladybug’s—Gon’s—eyes grew large. He could hear the hitch in the other teen’s voice as he took a bold step into Gon’s space, and he relished it. Knowing he affected Gon so much, even just as his plain and boring self, as Killua, brought a flutter of butterflies to life in his chest.
“R-Really?” Gon breathed. His gaze flickered down and Killua grinned.
“Yeah,” he said smoothly and reached up. “Something way better.”
He curled his fingers over Gon’s bandana and yanked it down over chocolate brown eyes. Gon yelped, surprised at the sudden movement, but by then Killua was cupping his cheeks and pulling him in for a kiss.
Ladybug’s lips were just as soft as Gon’s. His hair was just as coarse in Killua’s fists, his cheeks covered with the same perfect freckles that Killua adored. He kissed Killua the same way, too, with all the eagerness and giddiness of someone who loved Killua with everything he had.
Gloved fingers curled around Killua’s waist, pulling him in close so their bodies were pressed flush against each other. Killua shuddered at the feel of Gon’s hard muscles and his strong arms as they wrapped around his hips.
It was good, what they had. A little messy and chaotic between balancing hero duties and their regular lives as civilians. But Killua wouldn’t choose to do it with anyone else.
They separated and Killua’s eyes fluttered open just in time to see Gon pulling the bandanna back up. Brown eyes stared back at him, warm and tender and full of a love that Killua still had a hard time believing was his.
“You were right,” Gon said and his voice came out hoarse from their kissing. His eyes never strayed from Killua’s. “That was loads better than a thank you.”
Killua rolled his eyes. “You dork,” he said fondly and let himself be pulled into another kiss.

Going through unedited drafts on Tumblr is an interesting experience, because you get to remember where you where mentally/emotionally at certain points of your life in the past. I had the chance to do that today, and came across something I wrote a year ago for my end-of-2016 post when I was trying to reflect on how the year made my dreams come true. Anyway, I think the things I wrote are still relevant, so here are excerpts from that draft.
Dear 2016...

You brought me to Malawi. The childhood dream was to be a medical missionary, but working on a diabetes research project for three months in a foreign country was close enough. From traveling down a bumpy road beside two chickens in a packed van, to the challenge of holding focus group discussions in a different language, having afternoon tea on a tea plantation, dancing with a joyful crowd of people throwing money at a newly engaged couple, presenting a health lecture for Hope Channel, swimming in Lake Malawi’s crystal clear waters, seeing an elephant/impala/hippo in the wild, and hiking a mountain in pitch darkness and spending my birthday weekend at its peak, it was an adventure through and through.

You brought me to Loma Linda. The dream was to graduate from LLU, a school I had always looked up to as a child for its standard of whole-person care (also, fun fact, where the first baboon-to-child heart transplant took place), and that was exactly what happened. Loma Linda was the place that really drove home how blessed I was, how God loves me and provides for me. “If it’s God’s will, it’s His bill” was the mantra I lived by, and He proved faithful. I almost ended up dropping the MPH program and going back defeated to the Philippines after my first quarter because of financial issues with my scholarship contract, but in the span of a week a group of kind, generous AUP alumni met and decided to cover the $20,000 I needed. I didn’t have a car to get to places, but the very first friend I made on the very first day of class just happened to live in my neighborhood, and she offered to pick me up and drive me home from class every day (by the end of the year, unbeknownst to me, my classmates had developed a text messaging system to make sure I got to places - “Hey, Weanne woke up late today so she didn’t get to ride with me - can you drop by her house and pick her up?” “WEANNE THE EXAM IS STARTING WHERE ARE YOU DO YOU HAVE A RIDE I CAN COME BACK AND PICK YOU UP.” Ugh, bless their good hearts.) On the first day of winter, I woke up shivering and realized I had not packed any jackets with me from the Philippines (I thought California was a hot searing desert okay), but what do you know, ten minutes later a church member knocked on our door to drop off a jacket she just randomly thought I might need. In the middle of the year, I was starting to lose a lot of weight from skipping out on lunch because I had no time to pack myself a meal from the house, but then a former high school teacher called to give me an unlimited gift card to the school cafeteria on her account. I stayed in a house where I was 7,000 miles away from home, yet all my needs were being met before I even had a chance to verbalize them, I was cared for and adopted into not just families, but communities. Yup, Loma Linda was responsible for a huge bulk of my character development over the past two years, but it was a development mostly driven by faith that God would have my back wherever I go.

You brought me to Geneva. The dream was to work for the WHO, and somehow that’s what happened - that and so much more. “Go somewhere no one knows my name” used to be just another unattainable bucket list item to me, a little girl from the province, from a community and church where everyone knew everyone. But Geneva was my granted wish - one that gave me the gift of not knowing anyone and realizing how much I needed someone, anyone. The gift of feeling out of place and learning to bend, adjust, go out of my way in order to find my way. The gift of having no one to take care of me for the first time in my life and realizing I can survive… on week-old leftovers and garlic seasoning, that is. It would be cliche for me to say this experience made me stronger, so I would say it made me… resilient. More independent yet more aware of my reliance on other people at the same time.
Also, if Malawi gave me perspective and Loma Linda gave me faith, Geneva gave me courage. Or maybe it was freedom. Whatever it was, being in a place where nobody knew me and the stereotypes and boxes I had always been placed into, I could essentially be anyone I wanted - whether that was the person I already was or the person I want to be. In a way it was sort of daunting - not having a reputation to safely fall back into, but the challenge was empowering. For example, people in Geneva didn’t know I have a reputation for having the worst gross motor skills, so I still got invitations to go biking or wall climbing or salsa dancing - and I thought “you know what, why the heck not.” Such small things like that emboldened me to try newer things and made me realize I didn’t have to limit myself to the image people had of me. And it wasn’t that I was trying to pretend to be someone I was not - it was more of me learning I could be more than who I thought I was.
I wish I had finished writing this draft, but oh well. I guess my 2017 reflection is due soon. Let’s see how that one turns out.

Wondering why Supremo won’t get dead on the latest prophecy? I have a wild guess that Jacintha is the way and the reason to that prophecy. The character of Angel Locsin will make the Supremo’s HEART beat again. Because of that he will get the love connection to different creature whether humans or immortals. The conflict is arising from LLU and Moon Chasers’ goal to KILL the SUPREMO. The plans to kill him is not the best way to END the story but to Start another story on how Jacintha and Supremo’s daughter, Samantha (Maricar Reyes - Poon) stopped the killing of Supremo. In short, SUPREMO will have a HEART that truly cares in the end. I am also waiting for the next events… For more prophecy on what will happen to LLS, please subscribe on my Tumblr account, vennelidiscoveries.tumblr.com
