I've been thinking about Marvel 1602 lately, fantastic story by the way. Would you happen to have full lyrics for Matt Murdock's Ballad of the Fantastick? or an outline for how it sounded in your head? I kinda want to record an actual cover of it!

I'm afraid the only lyrics that exist are the ones I needed for the story. So you have lots of room to write the missing verses. (I'd say you've got the first, third, fifth and sixth verses there, but you could have more new verses in between the ones that are there.)

Owned?: No, library Page count: 247 My summary: It's hard to be a sad ghost. Alone, anxious, and wishing they hadn't gone to this party, the ghost wants nothing more than to go home, go to bed, and wish the day away. But a chance meeting with another sad ghost turns this ghost's life around. What if, suddenly, you weren't alone? And what if sharing your experiences was the best choice you could make? My rating: 4/5 My commentary:

It happens, every so often, that my work sends me to a different library to cover for sickness or annual leave or something like that. I'm always glad to go, particularly as it means I can check out the other library's stock to see if they have anything interesting that my library doesn't have. And one place I always look is the graphic novels. Because, next to the Marvel and DC collections that don't personally interest me, sometimes you can find some real gems just waiting to be picked up. On my last trip, I grabbed three graphics from the library I went to, and this is the first of them. Aimed at young adults, this is very much a 'baby's first introduction to anxiety and depression' kind of book. I'm not gonna begrudge it that - people need this kind of book that clearly introduces you to a sensitive topic like mental illness and how to help your mental health recover, particularly through a layer of abstraction and metaphor like this book.

I'm going to say that this book was exactly what I expected it to be, and again, I don't mean anything negative from that. Teenagers are more likely to be going through periods of poor mental health, so this is a good time to learn about what you're going through, learn how to deal with it, and learn how to connect with people and still have a good time even when you're ill. That said, this is a reasonably basic take on that material. The metaphor isn't trying to be subtle, and the facts of the ghost's depression and anxiety are laid bare in pretty unequivocal terms. There's nothing that complicated or messy about it, which is fair enough, given that's not what the author is going for. It had a certain charm, though - the cute art style, the absurdism of the protagonist as a genderless sheet ghost in a normal world, the fact that the characters are guaranteed to be okay just from the genre of story this is. I liked it, though it's not something I'd necessarily feel motivated to seek out again.

How do you get your agere bots to actually work on C.ai? I've tried to make a few and they all either forget that user is regressed or try to s3xu@lize it no matter how many different ways I try to make it work 😭

Hi! I’ll definitely go in my settings and tweak what I can do but the ai is trained by users over time and have a short memory of like 10-20 messages. You’ll have to constantly remind the bot stuff, I try to work it into the current situation by referencing it during the roleplay. You can also use the memory functions to manually input stuff you want the bot remember.

With Ai chatbots I really can’t control much beyond the character definition, I can try my best to make the bot as asexual as possible but if the people using the bot are romance/horning it up I can’t help that, it’s the only downside to to bots imo.

He found you sneaking around on Citadel grounds with some friends. They convinced you they could take him in battle and swipe his legendary weapons. It amused him so he played along until he was up against you; watching the way you dodged his shots, cornered him if only for a second and separated him from everyone else. You had him right where you wanted him, but that also meant the same for Ageless. Right when you were about to strike you were grabbed from behind by Stellan who pulled you to his chest with his cold hands tightly around your wrists. Ageless was a little annoyed over the unwanted help but either way, he had you . And you were never ever leaving.

He kept you in a secret room that was secluded under the Citadel . Only he could access the lower levels and only he could let you out of the room. Somehow this new technology on the island could be made into special locks that he used just for you.

When Ageless was not busy with intruders or work he was with you in your happy little room. Everyday you threatened him to let you go and everyday he laughed it off. “You are safest with me my pet” he told you over and over. “If your good ill take you to get some fresh air.” His tone was condescending, you were not a child on timeout you were a prisoner in this castle.

It took time to get you to come around to him , his gentle touches on your shoulders always resulted in you shrugging him off . His shiny gifts were gathering dust in a corner , his attempt to pretty up your “room” went unnoticed and he still had not seen that smile he loved so much.

One day the door unlocked with Ageless standing to the side with his hand extended to you. It was suspicious, Ageless always made his way into your room closing the door as soon as he could . But today he was.. offering you to go outside?

“Pet.. my love. I know things are .. difficult here but i can show you how much you could love it here with me”

You were reluctant but he was offering to take you outside this horrid room.. so you took his hand , watching him sigh with relief. “Come.” He told you as he brought your arm to his side to hold your hand.

He brought you to the very top of the citadel just as the sun was setting. No one was around, no gun shots, no yelling, no reboot noises. Just wildlife and fireflies roaming the grounds across the water. You had to admit it was peaceful .

Ageless moved in front of you to cup your face in his palm. “I can protect you from the rift.. intruders,, anyone who tries to harm you will answer to me. I will keep you safe.”

You had heard.. a lot of noise lately .. even the castle rumbled a few times last night. “Those.. rumbles..”

Ageless gripped your cheeks with both hands tight giving you a slight scare. “Did that wake you pet? I am so sorry it wont happen again. Did it scare you?”

The shrug told him it might have startled you, his heart ached at the sight. Tonight he will take care of it. As soon as you drifted to sleep . “Never again pet, you are safe here with me”

You finally gave him what he had wanted ever since he brought you to your room. What he had been dreaming of since laying eyes on you. That smile , that lovely warming smile. “Yes Ageless.” You told him in submission . “It startled me.. its been so loud..”

Ageless pulled you to his chest and stroked your back slowly with a sinister grin on his face. He had you, he loved you and you were falling for him. All he had to do was keep you stowed away in that secret room , take you outside every now and then and keep you oblivious. The less you knew about the Seven trying to save you… the better.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Always! Even if it's just a comment with some hearts. I appreciate every interaction and I also know how it feels to create something for the void, that goes for commints too.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I'd say that's "Evening with an old friend". Or "keep me cold?" oh I forgot about "Puppet play". hmmm 🤔 XD you see, I wrote lots of angsty stuff ("point of no return" is surely the worst (tm), but it's a collage so I won't count it in)

What are your writing strengths? that's a bit hard to say as an insider XDD I think I'm good at dialogues and I really like writing them, and my muse is a crack addict, so I thrive at funny things. otherwise ... I think I'm also good at being true to the original character traits even in a modern setting, but that's something others can judge better, I'd say

What are your writing weaknesses? to actually write of course, and also finishing things :)))) I mourn the times when I only wrote one-shots, but now I almost always get myself into multi chaps (multi as in no end in sight) - so I fall out of fandom until I can finish, or the lack of interaction gets to me, or something doesn't work out as I thought it would ... I deleted some unfinished fics that kept haunting me. it's sad, but I felt bad whenever I opened AO3

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? untranslatable things like suffixes are okay imo, and sometimes when two characters speak in a language that's foreign to the one from whose POV it's written for example, then it makes sense - otherwise I think it's not good for the reader's flow.

Love and Redemption Rewatch: ep. 2

This rewatch could take a little longer than I expected with how time consuming it is, but here we go...

And so we get our first shred of the Mirror... which really should have been better hidden, if they ever hoped thing such as this not to happen.... The Secret Ground isn't all that secure.

From the start, Bai Lin is extremely determined that some things just Must Not Happen!

This whole "we are deciding Xuan Ji's punishment" situation shows very nicely the priorities and motivations of several characters. Ling Long shows up as soon as the whole berating starts, ready to intervene but biding her time. When the punishment is announced, Min Yan reacts immediately and pleads for leniency (on his knees and all). He doesn't think about it at all. I believe his main motivation is (as always) Ling Long, who, he knows, is extremely unhappy by this development and wants to protect her sister. Additionally, Xuan Ji is his friend and he wants to help her, but his main objective is to make Ling Long happy. Ling Long tries her classic crying act but is immediately silenced and quickly realizes that the situation is too dire to save her sister like this (still she tries one more trick - to appeal to aunt Hong - but this also fails). Xuan Ji doesn't fear the cave because she has no point of reference for pain or discomfort (beeing pampered her whole life) and is by far the most chill with the situation. But she also doesn't have any real regard for the rules of her sect and doesn't get the severity of her transgression. And that isn't because of her non-existent emotions, that is herself. She isn't concerned with rules or great ideals, she lives in the moment. Her biggest concern at the moment is Si Feng's wellbeing as she feels a connection with him. (Lets face it - Si Feng is guilty for trespassing in another sect's Secret Ground just because he needed to find his spiritual beast - Xuan Ji isn't protecting an innocent, she protects the boy she had connected with).

Chu Lei's speech to Yuan Lang has strong "who allowed you to go into my bedroom, the door were closed, bitch!" vibe.

So, this happened 16 years ago, approximately when Xuan Ji was born... but what about in her previous lifes, was the Jade Cup always sealed somewhere nearby? Did I just forget this detail?

Such a clever little misdirection and at the same time a hint...

And another clever misdirection: the show keeps showing us Yuan Lang during Xuan Ji's visions (and sometimes even Wu Zhi Qi) giving audience the impression that THIS is Star of Mosha thatwe are battling. My friend was even confused that there seemed to be more of them as the face and the mask keeps changing! Good job confusing the audience! :)

The "Ling Long tries to teach her sister how to cry" scene is very funny... and adorable... I love Ling Long.

The chilli powder plan is genius... :D In my country we use onion - works every time!

Si Feng is getting flogged as a punishment and the justification is that losing the mask puts everyone from Lize palace in danger... and this is probably not untrue...

Also, Si Feng stammers only in the presence of Xuan Ji.

Bai Lin is here for ten (largely uneventful) years already... he must miss his bed...

It's very sweet how sincerely Min Yan cares about Xuan Ji (even if it is a fertile ground for future misconceptions). Actually Xuan Ji is very loved by her sect brothers and sisters...

Is there some hidden meaning to the fact that taste has been the first sense to be recovered?

As expected, Ling Long's cooking is terrible. And as expected, Min Yan eats it all anyway, because she doesn't want her to be sad. I love these two, but Min Yan is the one who truly treasures his beloved person.

Min Yan's reaction to Ling Long's bitching is priceless...

... OR they want to save their own mask (and skin). One of those options. (Just saying. Si Feng isn't motivated by personal feelings just yet.)

Min Yan can be quite sneaky... and his plan actually worked! Good job, even worth Ling Long's slight disappointment.

And... he isn't stammering anymore, yep... That was quick - must have been the shock in the first place.

When you have the luxury of knowing, this is truly heartbreaking... I must look out for the first tears.

The beginning of a beautiful friendship!

How can people say hotd is a good adaptation, while spitting on The Witcher and The Rings of Powers, when we're on the exact same kind of shit? (At least almost) It's a mediocre adaptation covered in makeup to make it look good. I mean, they literally changed the basic functioning of dragons? Also the age of the characters. They touched the bases of the universe? It cries scandal for other fantasy series but not for this one? What ? Pardon ? I think the worst is those who assume it's edited, and it's not the truth of the book BUT it's great fanfiction. The joke. No. It is not. Also, those who claim that the series reveals the truth are atrociously stupid. And I'm not even talking about who says that in this series, at least the female characters are well written. SORRY ?! Women are victims in this series. I agree that denaturing Yennefer and Galadriel in the series adaptations is not a good thing. But... the same can be said the other way around? I still find it revealing that when the change consists of amplifying the strong aspects of the female characters, the men complain BUT when it consists of lowering / taking away the power that the women had in the basic work to lessen it in the adaptation... This change does not disturb and it is well done. Yes. Of course. Quite revealing all that.

I only watched the first 2 seasons of the show and two-story playthroughs of the videogames (videogames aren't my thing): The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt (2015) and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine (2016). Never watched Rings of Power, and I have no interest bc LotR never really sparked much of one even though I watched all the movies, including the Hobbit trilogy. Never read any of the books from these franchises except The Hobbit.

However, esp this part:

is interesting bc now we're talking about how fans and casual watchers judge how women are written versus rewritten for adaptation, how fans define an adaptation or justify the adaptations' reconstruction of the original story.

People think they know what feminism is and entails without actually knowing its historical development and its internal debates. And then we have people dismiss feminism as "angry, psycho women" who attack men for "no" or "not good enough" reasons, for "discriminating" and trying to subordinate men out of malice. Even definitions of things like "male gaze" get patriarchi-lized in lieu. (Another post explaining male gaze itself.) So yeah, if people don't care to look at things from a feminist angle, they will have skewed views of how women are written and have double standards.

Hey guys! (Long note under the cut)

I’ll be completely honest- I sincerely apologize if it ever came off like I was sexu*lizing minors in any of my works. That was never the intention since I don’t write NSFW on this blog and I don’t/will never write NSFW with minor characters. I’m rereading my older work now and I realize that it could have came off as inappropriate which was never the intention - I was an inexperienced and new writer who just wanted to write and didn’t know any better, but I take full responsibility and accountability for that.

So moving forward, I’ll be doing better in the future with what I post so that I don’t make the same mistake again! With that being said, I have a lot to re-evaluate with what I write in the future- which means that I might honestly just archive this blog to start over. I won’t delete any of my work because I do want to take responsibility and accountability for my mistakes, and it’s a learning experience I needed.

I’ll make an official announcement whenever I do decide to move, and once again, it was never my intention to make anyone uncomfortable and I sincerely apologize for that.

Divorced Mort Theory

Despite its name, this is less of a theory and more of a thoroughly-developed headcanon 😭 Another banger mostly from the mind of @cunningweiner, transcribed by me LOL

It begins with a question: where in the world is Mrs. Weinerman?

She is mentioned a whopping ten (10) times over the course of the entire series, and one of those times is only an implied mention. You can argue Heidi’s nightmare in McFear Factor serves as her canon appearance, but Lize and I think that’s just a punchline. We don’t acknowledge it as an official Mrs. Weinerman design lol.

Most of the Mrs. Weinerman mentions are inconsequential. Usually, they are passing comments stating Weinerman family rules: Howard isn’t allowed to do something, Heidi has to let Howard join her on air, the two of them need to share lunch money. But there are a few mentions on which this theory hinges.

Mort-al Combat writes Heidi out of the episode by mentioning that she’s out with her mother on a trip. Yes, it’s perfectly normal for one sibling to take a trip with one parent, and for all family members to be on good terms with each other. But it is also very common for children with divorced parents, typically kids Howard and Heidi’s ages, to choose to spend more time with one parent than the other.

This interpretation is supported by Howard’s clinical-ass business-like relationship with Mrs. Weinerman. In MMMy Bologna, he mentions her singing lullabies to him when he was a baby. Other than that, of the six precious times Howard himself mentions her, THREE of them are about money. He uses her credit card, he receives lunch money from her…and also there’s that one bit about Howard buying expensive hand cream BUT THAT STILL PROVES MY POINT!! Anyway — last but not least, he complains that both Mort and Mrs. Weinerman got him socks for Hanukkah. Sure, parents don’t always shop for gifts for their kids together. But Howard’s phrasing leads me to believe that these socks were given as separate gifts, rather than, like, many socks given jointly by his parents.

I also want to point out that, in Ball’s Well Part 2 when the doorbell rings, he calls for Mort, then Heidi, before just answering the door himself. Mrs. Weinerman either works odd hours, or doesn’t live with Mort, and you know what I’m choosing to believe!

Now, because that’s the most material I can work off, that’s the only evidence I have. Find headcanons below :33

Mort and the former Mrs. Weinerman married young, had kids shortly after, and divorced not long before the series’ beginning

Mort did not take the divorce well…but he also wasn’t doing too hot while he was married, so 🤷‍♀️

Howard gets his temperament from his mother: impulsive, hot-headed, and self-serving. They also look very similar in the face, and Heidi points it out whenever he makes certain facial expressions, which bothers Howard a lot

Much like Howard and Mort in the series, Mort often played doormat to his then-wife’s demands. I wouldn’t say she was a nagging woman, nor an abusive wife, she was just… not well suited to a guy like Mort. He needs someone bold, yes, but understanding — and like Howard, I think Mrs. W struggles with empathy

During the divorce process, Howard asked for Mort to have full custody. He and his mother are so similar that they butted heads frequently and loudly, affecting the entire household. Mort ended up with full physical custody, sharing legal custody with the former Mrs. W.

Though Howard would rather die than properly express it, he was so relieved when he learned he wouldn’t have to live with his mom. He may not respect Mort…at all…but he’s 15, for crying out loud, he’ll learn. That’s his dad, yeah he’s a pushover, but I think on some level Howard knows his dad tries. Howard’s relationship with his mother is hanging on by a thread. Neither of them have a desire to get to know the other — because Howard is a petty kid whose empathy is still developing, and because Mrs. W is childish and quick to anger.

Heidi doesn’t necessarily get along with her mother, either, but they’re different enough to have a decent relationship, and Heidi feels obligated to her. “She’s my mom, I’ve gotta love her” type beat.

Mort has very complicated feelings about his ex-wife. She’s the mother of his children, but yes, he recognizes that she didn’t treat him very well. He appreciates his daughter trying to maintain a relationship with her. He’s not sure how to feel about Howard. I think maybe he recognizes that she didn’t treat Howard very well, either. It makes him sad but he knows it’s for the better

Mort is honestly kind of terrified that Howard chose him. There’s a part of him that didn’t expect it. There’s a bigger part of him that doesn’t think he can handle it. He wants so, so badly to live up to Howard’s choice, and that’s why he lets Howard walk all over him.

They both have a lot of learning to do before they can have a healthy, fulfilling relationship, but I like to believe yes, with time, they figure it out.

hello! i really like your art. what is your game about?

Thank you! My game is just kind of an omori/yume nikki/yume nikki fan games combination with it being also inspired by dreamcore/traumacore/liminal spaces. The main character Lize just goes through her dreams with her friends, it's mostly exploration but there is also a bit combat.

I plan to add story also but I'm not too good at writing. I might make a small version of the game and put it out for free, and I kind of do plan to keep it free when I release it since its more of an artistic outlet but if I do end up needing others to work on this it will probably be like a 10 dollar+ game. I'm sorry if this was a scuffed explanation.

shes absolutely right. especially with the fact that trump has now become president in america, i know that women are going to get s*xu*lized, tr*fficked or r*ped even more. its the same as questioning a little girls happiness. we pretend to smile 24/7, but now that something this huge has happened, we burst and wont laugh again. everyone is protesting. women are shaving their heads, and refusing to touch men again. in my country, because he became president, its going to cost each citizen €500 per year, just to live. just so you know, that takes away a little girls happiness. and thats rich coming from a 24 year old. ive seen kids of 13 getting told that they need to get a job to pay those €500, devastated moms, fathers working overhours. its ridiculous. the world is slowly deteriorating.

A little girl's happiness

A little girl's happiness does not require questioning, for as long as she's born a skinny, blue-eyed blonde, ripened by four to be admired by men seven times her age. She would grow to run faster than all of the boys in her grade and effortlessly gain straight As — so when the teacher would ask of her personal goals, she'd explain she must improve her math only to be met with laughter, told to go home and clean her room cause she could be better at that — a girl must learn to be tidy.

It did not matter who she wanted to be — she would win, she should win, she could win. Or any of the things she wanted to do — she could not, she would not, she was not allowed! She must waste her days locked away in her room, pretending, pondering, realising her own doom — living through dolls who may have understood her as she never even wanted them — though their futures more fulfilling and purposeful than her own —

So, there I was, the happy little girl they spoke of, which I found rather bewildering, as my memories of childhood were clouded by misery and instant gratification derived from skills that came easy while sitting with my mere existence wasn't so breezy. Laughable — for laughter is a little girl's power — fooling all, self-included when reality tastes sour.

For when I reflect upon the photographs of this happy little girl, I see how people were mistaken, for when she laughed there was light beaming from her white teethy smile, slightly rosy cheeks and big blue eyes — which had only lived long enough to still sparkle — I now wonder had someone considered to look caringly into those eyes, would it have been so hard to see that child had always been so tired. I wonder had someone seen her as more than a painting, would she have felt any more understood.

But then I remembered, at eighteen when I was so tired — with yellow teeth and dull eyes, I was too thin then, but I sure knew how to laugh — I had practiced all my life. I laughed and I laughed during that group project — what else did I have to offer? I felt dry and robotic when a boy who I had not spoken one word prior announced why do you laugh at everything; literally nothing is funny — it was then as the group fell silent, I knew a little girl's happiness does not require questioning, but a man will do it anyway.
