This is the concept art you're talking about, right? I'm sorry, my fellow Mhin kisser... I also have to say I think it's Mhin if only because the white + black + dark blue is more of Mhin's color palette, the feathers also remind me of Mhin's bird motifs, and I think it makes more sense for RSS to focus on developing the current routes/main cast before they move on to the DLC love interests, who we haven't really seen much of yet atm </3

Okay, idk if you'll be uncomfortable with this ask but like just imagine a pregnancy scare with harumasa. Like I cannot get it out of my head how scared he'd feel in the moment, not for himself but for you! Like omg the thought of him dying and leaving you behind with a kid?!?! I feel like it would be so terrifying for him and he'd probably even cry when he finds out the test was negative..

I'll be honest and say that I don't generally enjoy discussing pregnancy/pregnancy-related topics lol BUT I like how you're framing this ask and where you're going with it, because I agree 100%!!

I think Harumasa is focused on enjoying the moment and stresses how fleeting everything is and how he doesn't believe in permanence, and ensuring everyone won't worry over him if anything does happen to him. And having a baby is literally the opposite of that because it's so much more tangible and real and frightening.

But his main fear would be dying and leaving you to raise a child alone! Or leaving the child without a father growing up!! Especially because I think this fear is compounded by how dangerous his job is, how he has never had a good model for parenthood and wouldn't know what being a good father entails, and because he's relatively young, too.

Also, I wonder if his illness is genetic? The text doesn't seem to imply that, and it is very rare, but on the off-chance there's a possibility of passing it down, I think this is something he would also be worried over.

It would be so terrifying for Harumasa and make him confront his legacy and mortality and identity in ways he's never let himself think about before, when all he's focused on surviving... The emotional burden and expectation and catharsis all collapsing on him when he realizes the test is negative and then him crying would be so real...

Hello!! I've been scrolling through some of your blog after I read the paper star Harumasa fic and!!! AAA!! I'm so very happy the ambiguous relationship between the reader and Harumasa was intentional!! I personally don't care that much for romance- whether it's added or not to a dynamic, I tend to not mind. But since most x reader dynamics are romantic, seeing you write one that is explicitly unnamed is so!!! Refreshing!!!

I'm a big fan of relationships being explored in ways that don't just lump them into binaries of platonic, romantic, etc- the idea of people caring about each other in a way that language cannot place is SO cool to me. What kind of love they have does not matter, just the fact that love and care is there... oughh... Ur Harumasa and Section 6 reader have a very special place in my heart now <333 I'll definitely be scrolling through to see more of your thoughts and writing!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed how ambiguous the relationship was!! I also love relationships being explored outside of set binaries, and it's important to me that I write relationships that do exactly that!

I think labels are fine and they're important to help people define what something is, but I've always been interested in what it means for a relationship to defy labels. You really put it best when you said "What kind of love they have does not matter, just the fact that love and care is there" because that's exactly the feeling I want to capture!!

everything you said about characters caring deeply for each other without the need for a romantic angle was so so relatable. i love those kinds of stories and i personally think these ambiguous relationships are so fun to play with… narrative wise too because you don’t need to add cliche markers of romance and instead focus on how each character shows affection and care. I'm glad you agree!! I also really love the sort of stories where love doesn't need a big, grand gesture or explicit declaration, but is present in everything the characters do and how they think and how they act. It's something that's just so entwined into who they are... Also, I think ambiguous relationships, where the love isn't able to be defined because it's greater than language, are more romantic to me in general, haha! Other people's words can't capture what's so unique and special between these two people, or the intensity of their specific emotion!

I also agree that it's nice when you can focus on how each character would show affection! I think it's fun considering how individual circumstances and personality influence how characters would react in regards to love. Writing x reader fic is really just an exercise in analysis for me in that regards lmfao

so far we’ve heard your views of harumasa, but do you have any thoughts of the story of ZZZ as a whole? do you like the game (or which aspect of the game do you like)? i like the combat. i’m all in for flashy, real-time action. a bit like lighter, i suppose? i like skill-expression precisely because i have no skills, so games like zzz is challenging and rewarding, haha. I actually really enjoyed the story of ZZZ!! I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging it is, and I love how we slowly get to know each individual company/section in each new chapter, all while there's an overarching plot in the background coming together. I think chapter 5 was a fantastic finale (and maybe I'm biased because I love section 6 lol), but the way all the people we've come to know work together to help us out, and how all the separate plot threads from earlier chapters tie together was so well-done! I also really developed a soft spot for Miyabi, and how lovely her character arc was!

I'm also enjoying how the proxies are their own characters, and we're slowly getting to know them a little more as they open up to their new friends. It's so cute!! I think my favorite characters outside of Harumasa are Yanagi, Miyabi, Soukaku, Belle, and Jane, haha! I hope we still get to spend time with them even if a new story arc develops!

I also enjoy the combat of ZZZ because it's more of a beat 'em up style, too! The flashy, real time action is very fun, and I think the dodge/assist mechanic elevate the gameplay. It's fun to wrack up the damage, haha!

when the trust event happened i immediately knew someone would want to write a fic where reader pretends to be his family member and somehow it transforms to something less than pretend and i’m happy u picked up that stone HAHAHA. hyv totally knew what they were doing when they added that trust event… what was is ur current favourite tidbit they revealed abt harumasa so far? LITERALLY I saw the trust event and went "I know what trope this would be perfect for...." It's like fake dating, essentially, but going a step farther. They really know what they're doing with Harumasa... now if only they'd release a skin for him.......

Oh!! My favorite Harumasa tidbit has to be that he enjoys bitter foods, and that that he has a stray cat he takes care of at home! I find these fun facts to both enhance an understanding of his character, and yet are congruent with who he is and why he would enjoy these things...

Imagine if the reader was the one who turned into an ethereal.. oh my God it would be so tragic. I feel like he would be so angry at himself for letting this happen... Not being there for the reader in their time of need... ITS SO GOOD BUT SO SAD MAN

Oh trust if reader was the one to turn into an Ethereal Harumasa would be looking up "how to get corrupted in a Hollow five second speedrun" to join them asap!!!!

But on a more serious note, I think he would feel a deliciously painful cocktail of guilt and self-loathing (I didn't protect them / they went on a mission without me and I should have been there by their side) and also shock and denial (he always assumed he would die first, so he was not prepared to deal with the consequences of being left behind). I also think he would want to put down the Ethereal (refuses to think of it as reader), but would be shaking/unable to draw his bow properly so it takes him a while longer than it usually does. Also, he carries a memento of theirs around (maybe on a necklace under his clothes) and holds it/kisses it for strength when he's particularly tired and lonely....

The team I’m using right now is Seth, Harumasa, and Anby!!! I don’t have any units at all lmfao so I’m scraping together a budget team until I can pull the rest of Section Six on a rerun (do not separate.) and also ensure Harumasa has good supports one day too lol,,,

I’ve liked so much fanart of Jane and Seth, haha (I think they’re cute as a couple too! Something about confident women and earnest men who are lead around by the nose by said woman is soooo fun to me) that I don’t know if any particular one stood out to me! I just started getting them recommended on my Twitter page lol but I think this artist’s drawings of them are cute!

Also, Lighter sounds so cute! I do love a good gap moe between a cool facade and an awkward interior (AND also the intense angst sounds good. Men when they suffer are soooo 🤤🤤🤤). I’m looking forward to properly meeting your number one guy!!!

Hiya liya!! I hope you don't get annoyed with me coming in your ask box but I really like hearing your opinion on certain scenarios!!! Here's one that has been vibrating in my mind for a while, let's say harumasa somehow gets cured! Hurray! I imagine he'd be bouncing off the walls, he'd probably tackle you in a hug, pick you up and spin you around a little y'know happy days. Here's the kicker though, nothing comes without its price, the reader was the one to find a way to transfer that illness to themselves. Oh the tragedy! Watching harumasa celebrate while you bear the knowledge that you are going to die in his place and if your plan succeeds well enough, in the place of all those who suffer from the same illness. The reader probably wouldn't inform him, instead maybe they'd frame their death as just a tragic accident, all in the hope that he gets to remain happy and not feel a sort of survivors guilt(?). OH and then maybe a few years in the future he finds papers while going through our belongings and the truth just slowly spills out as he reads... and JUST UGH Im getting carried away sorry for such a long block of text.. thank you for your writing it's genuinely phenomenal <3

So I love the monkey paw-esque set-up of Harumasa being cured in exchange for losing you, just because I think he would feel immense guilt from it. Like he wouldn't be able to live his life freely because he would carry this knowledge with him, especially if he only learns about the truth after you're gone <3 It would haunt him forever and ever fr.

Also, I did make this joke in a previous ask but I'll make it again: if you ever turned into an Ethereal, accident or not, Harumasa is looking up a "how to get corrupted in a Hollow five second speedrun" guide asap lmfaooo. He does not get attached easily so once he does, he's in it for life (and death) <3

I do think with how cunning Harumasa can be, and because he's lived with his illness for so long, and I assume the two of you are close, then he's going to pick up on signs that you're acting oddly, whether it's emotionally (from the turmoil of having to carry this illness) or physically (he will know and recognize the signs of his own illness). So I think he would start digging into why you're acting so strangely, especially if you're actively hiding it from him and won't tell him.

This would most likely lead to a dramatic confrontation because I think he would be sooo mad that you (1) took on this illness, (2) you're dying in his place, and (3) he has to deal with losing you after believing he finally has a chance of a normal life!!! He would feel so betrayed, because he doesn't want happiness at your expense, and it wouldn't be worth it without you, and you made this decision without telling him!! He's definitelyyy trying to figure out if he can reverse whatever you did, feeling conflicted over your actions, and wanting to ensure you're okay and you won't leave him too soon.

But, assuming you're able to hide it from him and to frame it as an accident without him suspecting a thing, the truth will devastate him!!! It's like Harumasa's losing you all over again bc I know your death the first time was incredibly painful, and something he never really got over!!! This time, he can't even confront you over it, so he has to deal with the fallout all on his own. This will cast a shadow over his life until the end, and he definitely can't continue as happily and cluelessly as he did before...

since this is a yume/self-ship blog… can i assume you selfship? do you have some headcanons of yourself and asaba? (lighter anon)

To be honest, I'm not really sure I self-ship in a typical way? Like I hope this blog can be a space for other yume/self-shippers <3 !!! But the way I like to engage with characters I really love is through analysis, digging into their characterization and pushing on the boundaries of who they are, taking them apart to see how they work, or challenging them through situations and events and other characters.

That's partly why I do like making OCs (some who are a bit more similar to me than others lol, though I think every OC contains a part of their creator, whether it's a more explicit connection or not) to pair with canon characters if I want to explore the idea of love/romance. But I also usually enjoy more unorthodox, messy, and complex dynamics...

So, in short, I don't really explicitly "ship" myself, as I am, with any character? I usually write readers, or more explicit OCs, as complete people separate from me because I like to explore the narrative potential/value of a character, rather than for the sake of pure romance, or fluff, haha.

All this to say is that I like trapping Harumasa in my mind palace, and if I had to describe the dynamic, then I want to be the knife he twists in himself, the wound that never closes, and the destructive yearning for something he desires but can never truly have !
