When she was 3-5 years old she started having visions from Heaven. In her youth, she convinced her younger brother the quickest way to Heaven was to become a martyr and they ran away from home to the Moores hoping to be beheaded. Their Uncle found them before they left the family estate. Convinced the holy life was the best way, she and her brother vowed to live as hermits on the family estate until they realized they didn’t have enough stones to make a roof. Discouraged, she happened upon her mother’s fashion books and instead gave her life over to fashion, jewelry, and becoming the town gossip. It wasn’t until her mother died and her Father sent her to boarding school at a nearby Convent at the age of 15 that she discovered a holy friendship with a nun who reminded Teresa the worldy things she sought after we’re nothing compared to the treasures of heaven and a holy life. She became a nun at 18 and pursued the path of holiness once more. It wasn’t until she was 39 years old that she began having visions again of Jesus. Her book “Interior Castle” is full of priceless wisdom on the stages our souls go through along our journey with Christ. She helped to found the Discalced Carmelite Order (Barefoot Nuns) and was known for healing the sick among the poor before she died. Her visions were acknowledged post-humorously by the Church and she was made not only a saint but also one of only 4 current female Doctors of the Church. The Last Olympian

Alina, David, and Zoya head off to attack the Darkling’s ship; David is nearly killed when they blow the ship up, but Zoya uses the wind to take them away; the Darkling reveals that there is a spy among the campers

Alina hears the Great Prophecy: Descendant of the eldest gods/shall reach sixteen against all odds/and see the world in endless sleep/the protector’s soul, his blade shall reap/a single choice shall end his days/Olympus to preserve or raze. 

Apollo is Zeus’ son, so Alina is Zeus’ descendant. She will soon turn 16. (Zoya aged very slowly as a tree, so she’s a few months younger than Alina.) Chiron thinks that the “his” is being used in the old genderless sense, and could refer to anyone. The “protector”, he thinks, could just be a word for “half-blood”, as they protect the gods’ legacy from being forgotten and sometimes protect mortals from monsters

Kaz takes Alina to bathe in the river Styx; it amplifies her abilities, and she easily destroys one of Hades’ armies; her Achilles heel is the small of her back

Kaz stays in the Underworld to convince Hades to join the fight against the Darkling; Apollo isn’t fighting either

Morpheus puts the entirety of Manhattan to sleep (see the world in endless sleep); the gods (except Apollo and Hades) are fighting Typhus and refuse to help defend Olympus

The campers and their allies are slowly losing ground against the Darkling’s army

Mal saves Alina’s life by taking a knife for her that would otherwise have hit her Achilles heel

Prometheus tries to get them to give in and gives them Pandora’s pithos with Hope inside; if Alina lets Hope out of the jar, Prometheus will know that they have surrendered

Alina gives Hestia the jar

Nikolai is having random predictions; he tells Alina that a drakon is coming that can only be killed by a child of Poseidon working with a child of Ares

This is a problem, since the Poseidon cabin refused to fight

The Poseidon cabin arrives unexpectedly and fights the drakon, led by Nadia

Nadia is injured, and it turns out she isn’t Nadia — Genya dressed up as Nadia in order to get the Poseidon cabin to follow her

Nadia arrives moments later, furious; she kills the drakon with Tamar’s help

Genya reveals that she was the spy, but stopped giving the Darkling information after he almost killed David

Genya survives, but is scarred for life

Alina uses Apollo’s throne to contact him, and convinces Apollo to help the other gods fight Typhon

Kaz arrives with Hades, but the Darkling still manages to get into Olympus

The Darkling and Alina fight; the Darkling tries to demoralise her by showing her the gods fighting Typhon, but it backfires when the gods defeat Typhon with Apollo’s help

The Darkling kills Ethan for disobeying him.

The Darkling succeeds in disarming Alina, and attacks and stabs Mal

Alina chooses to pull out the blade, which might kill Mal, in order to use it to kill the Darkling (a single choice shall end his days/Olympus to preserve or raze is fulfilled, as is the protector’s soul, his blade shall reap, because his name is Aleksander, remember, and Aleksander means protector. Chiron was a bit off.)

The Darkling does not get any redemption on his deathbed. 

Mal survives.

Kaz, Nadia, Tamar, Mal, Zoya, and Tolya receive rewards for helping defend Olympus; the gods offer to make Alina immortal, but she refuses. They warn her that she will lose her curse of Achilles, but she still refuses, asking instead for greater recognition for the gods’ children, as that was why many of them joined the Darkling.

Nikolai becomes the new Oracle of Delphi.

I will continue this with SoC characters in HOO plot if anyone’s interested!

One tough Momma ❤️💛💙 💁🏼‍♀️ #MafiaSaints... St. Rita of Cascia (1381-1457) was born in Italy during an era of violent strife between cities and warring family tribes. As a child she repeatedly requested to enter the convent, but instead her parents arranged her marriage to a rich, ill-tempered, and violent man. He became physically abusive, yet she met his cruelty with kindness and patience. During her eighteen years of marriage she bore two sons whom she loved deeply. After many years of persistent prayer she eventually won her husband over to greater civility and kindness. When he was murdered, her sons plotted a bloody vendetta against the culprits. St. Rita labored to guide her children into forgiveness, without success. ➡️➡️She earnestly prayed that God would change her son's murderous intentions, or allow them to die!!!! rather than commit a mortal sin. God heard St. Rita's prayers, and soon both of her sons became ill and died.⬅️⬅️ St. Rita was then free to join the convent, however, she was rejected due to her family's connection with the local violence. She finally obtained entry only after much prayer, humility, patience, and perseverance. St. Rita's life in the convent was marked by heroic charity and penance as she closely united herself and her life of deep suffering to Christ. While praying before a crucifix, St. Rita mystically received a thorn in her forehead (stigmata) from Jesus' Crown of Thorns. St. Rita is the patron saint of impossible causes, difficult marriages, and abuse victims.
