“shhhh ole wade”

we all know where to find a box of tissues

and I've been old enough to wear a crown 

days run together like the alarms i snooze

missed calls from my family on the other side of town 

i choke 

when they come around 

asking about better times

that I've forgotten all about 

because i felt that “weird bubbly hysteria” 

climbing up my spine 

dissociated too far from reality 

reached out one too many times

when i was trying my best but

still beat and broken down

started having fun with my nose  

plunging my head through the crown 

a little warrior led astray

no traction and seat-belt undone

sped through every stop sign i saw

disintegrated as i lost the sun 

but i’m beginning to see daylight

and i finally cleaned by room 

haven’t opened a new box of tissues in a while

took off the crown that chased my doom

returned from hell with wings before

holding on for ole wade

i’ll silently piece this puzzle back together

so i can live another day

Covid Rule Breakers

We have an opportunity to change the world we live in and yet nothing changes. We are living through an unprecedented pandemic and it is clear from the media there are those who are behaving as if life is normal.

The virus is our wake-up call, a lesson for us to change our lives moving forward. We must all do more, or we will find out to our cost that it wasn’t enough for us to think about it, talk about it and not change anything. We’re at a crossroads.

We can change our lives, change our children’s lives and our grandchildren’s lives, or we can continue down the same road, but we will lose out. We’re setting ourselves up to fail. As well as Covid, we still have to address the significant implications of climate change for our planet. These are all worrying times.

Where the government were too slow to take us into lockdown and too quick to bring us out, now people are beginning to doubt the effectiveness and questioning the point of following the second lockdown rules recently imposed here in the UK. Although the government isn’t accepting responsibility, as individuals we must take responsibility for ourselves.

Where social divisions are turning into political disagreements across the north and south divide, common sense must prevail. When we follow the rules, we protect ourselves from becoming another statistic. We’re also following the rules, so those who are high risk are protected, particularly the vulnerable and elderly.

Flouting the rules means we’re putting ourselves, and others at risk. It is so important we work together and be a support for each other. We must come through this pandemic united, so we make the world a safer, a better place for all.

I don’t understand much about Malaysian politics but I wanna share these interesting facts I gathered recently. Today, marks Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s 100-day as the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Interestingly, he was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Malaysia on the 1 March 2020 ; and one of the biggest issue he had to handle was the COVID19 Pandemic — making him the youngest prime minister in the world handling the COVID19 pandemic. 18 days after his appointment, for the first time in the history of Malaysia, Act 342 (Prevention & Control Of Infectious Disease Act 1988) was triggered ; thus he announced the Movement Control Order(MCO) or better known as the “Lockdown”. By being the first country to use the Nationwide Lockdown method - a method that has never been used in other nations, esp in Asia, Malaysia managed to control the pandemic. When it was first announced, everybody were shocked, confused, upset, terrified and blamed him of course (as if he caused this entire pandemic). Fast forward today, after 83 days since the lockdown was first announced; myself, families and friends are still around and we live around to see another day. From tomorrow onwards, Malaysia will enter 82 days of Recovery Mode - an extended version of Lockdown. Despite all our differences; let us all pick up the pieces and most importantly; RECOVER from this TOGETHER.
