Hi, thank you for having me
So, here I am. I've always had a love-hate relationship with tumblr, what with all of the painfully relatable (but incredibly toxic) 2012 version being ingrained in my soul forever.
I was recently reading a book, "The Insecure Girl's Handbook" by Liv Purvis, and she spoke about how she and other women began blogging in search of like-minded people, a way to find others that relate... and a way to realise that they really are not alone.
I have a tendency to either isolate (and journal my thoughts down until my fingers bleed) or talk to everyone but my loved ones about my problems. I somehow find it easier to talk about the deep stuff with those who I am not close with - especially if it is something that I don't think my loved ones would understand.
So, as to stop myself from isolating, and to maybe make some new friends (or scream into the void, that works too!) I thought I'd start up a blog in the easiest form: Tumblr.
I intend to use this space to air out all of my thoughts and feelings, and I hope that I can get some responses from people that might relate. Overall, though, the intention is to use it to support my healing journey. I think it will help to put time aside throughout the day to sit on my laptop and just....BLEGH it all out.

V, I started following the blogger Liv Purvis since you chose her as Aberdeen's faceclaim, but completely forgot about it until a couple of day ago when I was randomly going through her feed and saw a bunch of photos that scream our favourite writer! There are some beautiful bump pics taken by her husband and a photo of her holding a pile of books above her baby bump that made my head go straight to TPWP and create this whole scenario about Willy taking those pictures. All of this only made me miss them even more ☺️
AHHHH I LOVE THIS! She's such a great blogger and I know exactly which pictures you are talking about and I 100% had the same scenario in my mind with the books and the bump and Willy

Experimental Chalet, Verbier – Coolest New Hotel in The Alps
Where? Experimental Chalet
Exactly? Verbier, Switzerland
Best time to go? ski season runs from December through to April dependant on the snow!
Why? This season sees the opening of the coolest new hotel to hit the slopes in a long time. Brought to us from the trendy, Parisian trio who created the Experimental Group bars, speakeasies and hotels across London, New York, Paris and who can forget the gorgeous Experimental Beach Ibiza? The latest edition to the family is Experimental Chalet, Verbier and guess who got an invite for the opening weekend? Moi! So I donned my most fashionable ski gear and headed for the mountains.
Here’s my Style Traveller review and photo diary of Experimental Chalet, Verbier, the coolest new hotel in The Alps.
The Experimental Chalet
Made up of 39 stylishly appointed suites and rooms, all with balconies and some with jacuzzis, the Experimental Chalet boasts one of Verbiers most prime locations. Set right in the centre of town, the group took on the existing chalet above Verbiers infamous Farm Night Club (more on that later). They completely renovated the property giving it a mid-century modern vibe, what they call the new Alpine chic.
Designed by renowned interiors guru Fabrizio Casiraghi, the chalet is inspired by the works of film director Wes Anderson, picture Grand Budapest Hotel 70’s colour palette, quirky art work and memorabilia dotted around the rooms, staff uniforms straight off the set of Life Aquatic and the most detailed branding of products, towels and linens, et voila, it’s like being on the set of a movie.
Me posing outside the Experimental Chalet in Fendi sweatshirt, Julien MacDonald coat and Moonboots ski boots.
The girls, my cast and crew for the Verbier trip from left to right: Marta girlwhotravels, Taniabdarling, Ellie, Carrie wish wish wish, me and Liv Purvis, in front of the roaring fire in our branded Experimental sweatshirts and Farm Club beanie hats.
Snowy rooftops of Verbier – the view from the balcony
The things we do for insta :) Me chilling (literally) on my bedroom balcony. I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to any unsuspecting passers by on the street behind me :) Disclosure: some innocent bystanders may have been mooned in the making of this photo :)
Quirky interiors: the expert design team scoured the globe (and their grandmas attic) to produce beautiful flat lays, sorry! room installations using retro products and trinkets. And yes the phone does work.
It’s all in the detail: from creatively branded ski pole logo bath robes, the hotel facade embroidered into to the towels, to hand chosen individual beauty products in cute logo’d cloth bags, every bit of the hotel design has been elegantly and cleverly thought out.
Attitude on the balcony in my logo pieces, courtesy of Fendi.
Food and drink
After a hard day on the slopes the hotel restaurant is the perfect place to refuel. In cosy yet chic surroundings, enjoy a tasting menu of Alpine classics with a modern twist served up by chef Gregory Marchand aka Frenchie. The food is the perfect accompaniment to a ski day and if you don’t believe me ask the locals, the Verbier residents have taken to frequenting the homely and delicious meals on offer at Experimental restaurant.
Verbier is filled with great restaurants serving typical alpine classics like raclette and fondue, from mountain side ski-in places like Chez Dany to old school Le Caveau just 3 to 4 minutes walk from the hotel.
Slope style – what to wear on the slopes
This season the colour white and retro styles are de rigeur on the pistes. So whether you go for a monochrome all-in-one onesie or opt for clashing, retro brights with 70’s chevron stripes, you be looking sleek on the slopes.
Apres Ski The place to be in Verbier is Rouge. So leave your skis outside, order a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and try and do your best on the dance floor in your not so comfy ski boots!
And if it’s a bit of apres – apres ski you’re after then look no further than The Farm Club. The iconic Verbier night club where celebs rub shoulders with locals is situated in the basement of the hotel. At least you don’t have far to go home!
Night Sledging – is highly recommended. We sledged down the mountain all the way home after dinner at Chez Dany. I think the gluwein definitely brought out my more adventurous side! Be warned though! They go fast!
Bonnie wears silver coat by Revolve, sweatshirt and hat by Fendi (as above) and bum bag by Lulu Guinness. Snowflake biscuit stolen from breakfast.
That’s all from Verbier for now. A huge thank you to the awesome guys at Experimental Chalet for such a fantastic trip, can’t wait for Experimental Menorca to open later this summer. Also thanks to Altitude Ski School for my top up ski lessons, ask for John he’s very patient with newbie skiers.

Bon voyage x

I’ll spare you my monthly mumble about how quickly the last month has flown by, but seriously… I’m kind of confused how crazy fast the first month of 2020 was. Anyways, today I thought I would share a snapshot of the content I’ve been loving this month. I hope you find some interesting content to read/watch/listen to hehe 🙂
*********************************
I saw Greta Gerwig’s film adaptation of ‘Little Women‘ and I honestly haven’t stopped talking about it since. It’s such a beautiful film in every sense of the word.
Selena Gomez’s new single ‘Feel Me’ is a real tune! Love it.
The new Kosas ‘wet lip oil gloss’ collection looks superb! I think I might have to add one to my collection sometime *oops*.
This rust orange turtleneck styled by the lovely Rachel James has be excited for Autumn weather.
This beauty flatlay by Rolly.Mag is so beautiful and features some of my favourite brands and products too.
This inspiring quote about kindness is so beautiful.
I am so excited to read Liv Purvis’s book ‘The Insecure Girl’s Handbook’ – she’s such a an inspiration to me in every way, so I’m interested to read her book 🙂
I was so lucky to be one of the winners of Finerrings recent giveaway and I’m so excited to add some more of their beautiful Australian handmade jewellery to my collection. This delicate heart chain bracelet is calling my name hehe.
This YouTube video by BestDressed about how she learned to love being single (+ why you should too) is really interesting and a fresh perspective.
*********************************
I hope you enjoyed this month’s weekend reading list! 🙂
I’d love to hear what content you’ve been loving lately in the comments.

Influencer Marketing
For a brand like Steven Tai, which has a relatively small marketing budget along with a small user base, influencer marketing would be an extremely beneficial idea. The target audience for the brand is young and tech savvy. Steven Tai has not made use of influencer marketing before and therefore this would be a good opportunity for the brand to experiment with it.
Today’s consumers, especially younger consumers aged between 20-35 years, conduct searches and reads reviews before purchasing anything. 61% of these reviews are read through blogs of fashion influencers who conduct product reveals and reviews on their blogs on digital media. This could range from independent blogs to Instagram and even Snapchat. Their popularity is due to the “realness and relatability” of the content. They come across as “real” people who are just going about their lives and it is not as putting off as advertisements. According to a survey by Mckinsey, over 50% brands think that infuencer marketing is better than other avenues of digital marketing and over 92% of the people trust strangers more than brands due to peer influence. There are several benefits of influencer marketing for a brand like Steven Tai. It can target a specific audience by collaborating with specific influencers. For Steven Tai, these can be Instagram influencers who are UK based to start with like Susie Bubble, Camille Charriere, Liv Purvis and Frederique Harrel. Choosing the correct influencers that reflect the Steven Tai brand is imperative as it helps in segmented and relevant content spreading. It also increases the authenticity of the brand. The cost of influencer marketing is also significantly less than other traditional forms of marketing.
Steven Tai can arrange an event which can be classified as a “Bloggers Meet”. The idea of this event would be same as our idea of “Netflix & Chill” but only for fashion influencers. This would significantly bring down the cost of the event and would be helpful in creating a press story around the brand. Involving influencers would also be useful in increasing the social media presence and awareness of the brand.
