Story: 

He didn't understand.

He knew that it was cold outside, and that's why he had to stay in the nursery, especially during the night. But nothing had to be explained to him further than that; he didn't want to go outside when it was cold anyways.

So he didn't know the dangers.

He didn't know that you could die.

When Littlesplash had her litter of kits, the tiny things were so noisy!

Batkit was awed at first to see cats so small, and was amazed that he had been so small himself, but soon enough the little things showed irksome behaviour. In particular was Gorsekit, who cried for no good reason day-in and day-out.

Too, it seemed everyone in the nursery was a heavy sleeper--everyone but Batkit.

He had enough. He wanted some rest, and to get the noise away from him. So he picked the little kit up and plopped him outside of the nursery, where the den walls would muffle his cries. And maybe the cold would teach him to be quite!

Then he was gone.

Batkit woke to the alarmed wailing of Littlesplash, who cried that she couldn't find Gorsekit anywhere. The Clan searched around and, feeling guilty, Batkit did as well.

But soon it became clear that Gorsekit wasn't still in the camp. Had he run away? Had Batkit upset him that much? Now that he wasn't so irritated from a lack of sleep, he felt bad for what he had done, made worse by everyone's panic.

Still, he didn't tell them the truth, too afraid of being scolded. Instead, while everyone was distracted, he snuck out of camp in search of the little kit.

There was no scent trials. Batkit was getting lost.

A shadow loomed over him, and before he knew it, he was being carried into the air. He screeched, alarmed, which caught the attention of Littlesplash and a patrol, who had left the camp earlier to search for her son.

The queen leaped into the air, unbalancing the hawk. It dropped him, then grabbed him again by the tail while Littlesplash clawed at it. It gripped onto him tightly.

Littlesplash slipped, but managed to grab onto Batkit. She pulled him down, trying to free him at the same time that the hawk jerked upward. Then there was a tearing, and an awful pain that made him screech, then they were falling to the ground.

Batkit and Littlesplash survived the crash thanks to the cats below catching them, but something was wrong. He was breathing quickly, everything was distorted. Cats around him were panicking, and soon, it was all dark.

Additional Information: 

--If not for the shock, he would have survived his injuries--though his apprenticeship would definitely have to be delayed.

--Story inspired by both A Thief in ThunderClan and Tallstar's Revenge.

In TS, Stagkit took Tallkit out of the den because he kept crying, and Sandgorse found him.

--Gorsekit was out in the open, small, and loud, so a hawk quickly found him and took him in a heartbeat. I figured that if they didn't smell the hawk in ATiT, they wouldn't smell it here, and not when it was a blink-in-the-eye swoop.

--He is adopted by Tarantulastar and Hummingbirdstar (likely seeing the Gossamer Trees as somewhere a bird could never get him because of all the mesh). He is adopted when he is three moons old. Charkit/lynx, his adopted brother, is also three moons old, though they do have an age gap of roughly two weeks. This also makes him an adoptive Smalljump grandbaby!

1. Littlesplash- my good, pure boi. He’s a munchkin with a black patch on his head, a black tail, and yellow eyes. Bat wings optional. He’s fluffy and sweet and tries his best. A warrior of CliffClan from Clans of the Sun. He loves his s/o Stormstrike very very much. Littlesplash is my current icon on both Tumblr and Discord. Art by whatever Crow’s blog is now and @fidgetheart

2. Shadowmask/Ravenmask- like Littlesplash, she originated in the Clans of the Sun rp. She’s a sleek black Oriental Longhair with bright amber eyes and wings like a Bateleur Eagle. She is super dedicated and believes that nothing comes above the well-being of the Clan. She’s willing to let some dark things slide in order to make that happen. She was deputy of MoorClan and is the WindClan deputy in a new rp Four Giants. Art by @wrenavem

3. Xavier Holloway- one of the main characters from my NaNo this year. Xavier has been through enough terribleness to last a lifetime, and he’s only 17. He is a ball of anxiety (relatable) and gay panic (also very relatable) who goes through so much growth and development and I can’t wait to actually write his story okay

4. Derrin Milstryk- nephew of the king of Amphari Kingdom from my story temporarily named Love and War. One of four main characters, Derrin is gay and in the closet and at the start of the story has just been put into an arranged marriage with the princess of the Cloudmist Kingdom. He’s also full of gay panic, which kinda explodes after he finds out about his upcoming marriage. My characters seem to follow a trend lmao

5. Flyn Dewshining- a dnd character I love. He’s a half elf with serious daddy issues and a druid ready to prove himself to the world. He isn’t super developed since the campaign hasn’t started really but I love his concept

Littlesplash is a small munchkin tom with fluffy white fur, which is especially long on his belly and tail, and black Van markings. He has yellow eyes, a nicked left ear, and dark coloured webbed wings.

Personality: Littlesplash is a quiet, nervous tom. He was only made a warrior one moon ago, and is still unsure of his place as a warrior. He tries to be kind to everyone and give them the benefit of the doubt. He loves kits, and hopes to mentor someday soon. He’s petrified of storms and the thought of death, and hates surprises and taking risks of any kind. Overall, he’s a sweet tom who wants the best for his friends and Clan.

History:

Littlekit and Waspkit were born to Patchtail in CliffClan. Patchtail was killed by a cone snail when the kits were two moons old, leaving them without any kin. Littlepaw was apprenticed to Roseheart, a courageous warrior whom he greatly respected, even if their personalities clashed. He trained alongside Wasppaw, Stormpaw, and later Pigeonpaw. Littlepaw and Roseheart were out flying in a storm when he was 9 moons old, and lightning struck close to the tom, who fell and broke his leg. He was in the medicine den for moons, his training was severely delayed. During this time, Wasppaw went out hunting alone, and never came back to CliffClan. Littlesplash still refuses to believe they died. He became a warrior last moon, earning the -splash suffix for his cheerfulness and energy. Littlesplash has a soft spot for kits, and hopes to become a mentor soon.

003 about your second favorite character of cots

My second favourite?? Uhhhhhhh crabcakes I’m gonna go with uhh Tidalpool

How I feel about this character: I love them tbh, the entire idea of a medicine cat apprentice with no mentor trying to take care of their Clan is great, and Tidalpool’s character arc is realistic and interesting. Also she’s a fun cat to interact with, and rping with Tidalpool is always a pleasure. Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Hmm, Tidalpool and Softsong could be sweet, but I don’t have any major ships for her atm My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Her and Littlesplash. Their personalities click imo, and I’d love for them to interact more. My unpopular opinion about this character: Oh goodness hmm, I can’t really think of any?One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Her interacting with other Clanmates I think, especially the other cats her age. Favorite friendship for this character: Gotta day Littlesplash again My crossover ship: Tidalpool and Willowshine There’s no headcanon question on this but I’m gonna add one in anyway: Tidalpool and Goosethroat could be siblings- same age and Clan, genetically possible etc. Ty for the ask!

Shadowmask: calm, collected, speaks quickly when angry or stressed

Littlesplash: uh, um, oh, um, lots of stammering, x20000 when talking to a cat he finds cute, he’s soft ok

Sky: probably a bit full of herself, maybe a slight British accent? I haven’t rped her yet

Freedom: posh British accent, full sentences, very mature for a kitwing

Spottedkit: mew meow she’s a baby she can’t speak yet
