Which @disney character do you relate to most & why? Lmk in the comments! 👇🏼⠀ ⠀ For me it’s Ariel. No surprise there! 😉 But it all started way before I was a red headed singer on @youtube. Ariel inspired me to want to become a singer at 4 years old, when I first heard her (aka @jodi.benson !) sing Part of Your World. She later comforted me when I found myself constantly losing my own voice in my battle with vocal nodules & polyps since I was about 6. My connection to her story went beyond loving her bubbly personality & mermaid tail. It was a fairytale lens I could look through & relate to in my own life, and made such an impact on me throughout my struggles. I always say, Ariel made me want to sing, and become a voice actor, but I never planned on the costumes too! I could never have imaged where God would lead me & the doors He would open for me -doors to unpaved roads that I never even knew existed! But He did. Sometimes I feel silly for being in costumes more than my own clothes! But stepping back from it all I can see that I’ve been blessed with a truly boredom-free, creativity-filled life, and I am so grateful! Through Disney cosplay & @youtube I’ve realized passions within me that go so far beyond singing & songwriting. I’ve realized I love to write, direct, produce & tell stories! I love casting & costume design, wig styling & makeup. I love the chance to collaborate with friends and see their talents (and maybe mine too!) flourish & grow when we encourage each other to step outside our comfort zones. I love having the creative freedom to be a decision maker in my own career, and not just float where the wind takes me. I love making music videos, not just music. And oddly enough, I can trace it all back to the inspiration I found in a little mermaid. But to me, she is so much more.
