SACRIFICE. Traditional for every Filipino that is called Crucifixion that holds every good friday and this spritual tradition had always been a must in the town of Boac, Marinduque. Also a way to remember the sacrifice of god to protect our own sins.
THANKFUL TO GOD: Regular prayers and novenas, especially during significant events, reflect the community's devotion. It's also a way to reflect or repent the sins that we have done in our everyday living.
MASKED OF A SIN: Annual festival during Holy Week in Boac, Marinduque features participants dressed as Roman soldiers, reenacting the story of Longinus, emphasizing themes of faith and redemption. It commemorates the sacrifice of each soldier that punished Jesus.
SHOW RESPECT. Mahal na birhen ng biglang awa saint that the town of boac commemorated and held a mass. Gathering that holds activities at church that the community of the town gathered.
REPENT. Traditional for every Catholic that walks with their saints to show respect and pray to be forgiven by their sin. It's one of the significant events that is celebrated in the Catholic calendar every year.
TO WELCOME. Commemorate the entry of Jesus by having their coconut called ibus. A way to get blessed with the glory of Jesus Christ .

Marinduque: The Butterfly Capital of the Philippines
Marinduque has such an enticing raw beauty that only intrepid travelers who dare to explore it can unravel. Best known for Moriones Festival celebrated during the Lenten season, this bountiful province has another festival that is worthy of attention – Bila bila festival.
The province is known as the “Butterfly Capital of the Philippines” with roughly 11 butterfly farms scattered mainly in the towns of Boac and Gasan. The vibrant and colorful Bila Bila Festival recently took place in the town of Boac, Marinduque, drawing crowds from near and far to celebrate butterfly diversity.
One of the highlights of the festival was the street parade, where participants dressed in elaborate costumes of "bila-bila", a Marinduque word synonymous to butterfly paraded through the streets, accompanied by lively music and dancing. The Bila-Bila Festival promotes awareness on the importance of protecting butterflies and their habitats.
The Moriones: A passion Play in Motion
Boac's Moriones Festival is a unique event, a re-enactment of the Passion of Christ that blends religious devotion with dramatic passion. Men and women, clad in colorful, hand-painted masks and armor, symbolizes the Roman soldiers who pursued Christ.
The festival has a religious and cultural significance, and it attracts both local and foreign tourists and has a profound impact on the local economy and culture, and efforts are being made to preserve and promote the festival for future generations.
