favorite thing about them: just how genuinely NICE archie is like in s2 abel and new canton are still working out their strained relationship and archie is just like runner five?? new friend!! jamie? new friend!!!! like she’s like I see your township rivalry and raise you a ‘I will befriend every human I see regardless of what township they come from’ and like she like goes out of her way just to rescue a chicken wow I love her with my whole entire heart!!! also I love how she’s a genius bc I feel like it’s unfortunately rare to have a female character like archie that’s kind and bubby and super smart 

least favorite thing about them: no least favorite thing except I wish we had had more time with her :(((((

favorite line: she has so many good lines but this one from the s1 races makes me crack up every single time

brOTP:****s3 spoilers**** I feel like archie and five was a brotp that crept up on me like I feel like they didn’t have significant interactions compared to some other characters but it really says A LOT that when five was hallucinating in s3 the people five saw were sara and archie like we know how much sara means to five but thinking about how wow archie must have meant a lot to five too 

OTP: archie/jamie of course :(((( my kids deserved a happy ending 

nOTP: archie/literally anyone else besides jamie alksdjsal ok not really there are definitely other cute archie pairings out there but I do really love archie/jamie

random headcanon: archie survived the gunshot wound but lost her memory and decided to move to the countryside and raise chickens which is why we don’t see her anymore but she’s happy and she’s out there this is canon now sorry I don’t make the rules

ok actual headcanon is that archie will bring back the most ridiculous things from runs and hand them off to people and they’ll be like why....did archie....just give me a rubber duck.....until like a couple weeks later they’ll realize they actually needed the very random item for a very specific purpose they didn’t realize and it’s because archie being the genius she is is always five steps ahead of the game but also enjoys confusing people by bringing them back strange trinkets from runs 

unpopular opinion: not an opinion but confession I actually for the first few missions with archie thought she was a bad guy oops my ‘this character is actually evil’ radar is way off

it’s done! my secret santa gift for @littlelionmay 

funny story actually after i got my email i hopped onto your blog to look for references and ideas buuut then i clicked onto another blog and ended up getting mixed up and prepping art for that person instead lol

thankfully i realised my mistake earlier today and had enough time to do a whole new one phew

i never draw people not facing forwards so idk if this is my best but when i read your 5am headcanons i really wanted to do something special for you so i decided to draw them on their wedding day (sorry if its not very good aaa)

i wasn’t sure what your five would wear on her wedding and i didn’t have time to ask so i hope this lines up

i kinda rolled with the idea that the fancy clothes were salvaged and i wanted to put a few stains on them that didn’t wash out despite everyone’s best efforts cause i thought it fit with the whole vibe of finding joy after the end of the world, yknow? i also put some wild flowers in her hair cause i thought it was cute

if i’d had more time i definitely would have added peter photobombing in the background

Fellowship of the Fives

It took me a little longer than I expected, but now it’s DONE it’s HERE and I’m HYPE S FUCK so LET’S GO

There are a few things I wanna address though:

1) YALL ARE A NIGHTMARE TO MANAGE. Seriously putting together who should be in which scene was a pain in the ass I spent DAYS trying to figure out where certain ppl should be and MY GOD our fives don’t always share the same interests I mean LOOK AT THIS SHIT:

BUT I tried to include everyone as equally as best I could.

2) The discord pushed me to finish this. Just the general vibe and talking to you guys made me want to not say a word about this project and then BOOM drop it in the art tag and by now I’m guessing I did it (I’m writing this before so idk the reactions yet) and I really hope you guys like it, and the delivery method on it as well xD

3) SPEAKING OF DISCORD YOU GUYS DON’T KNOW THE PAIN ME AND @iamrunner5 WENT THROUGH xDDDDD

4) I tried to make everyone as recognizable as I could, obviously without the colors it’s pretty hard but I hope you can still tell who’s who.

Starting with: Janine’s Farmhouse. What else :)

This was of course inspired originally by @littlelionmay, who also build a version of Abel in the Sims.

I’m still new to this whole youtube thing - lie, I did post a few other things on this channel ages ago, like lots and lots of ZR reaction videos, also a very very early video version of my ZR Audio Mashups - and I am a little bit self-conscious about doing this for some reason, so I hope you’ll check it out and give me some feedback.

@kaoticfive wrote an amazing ZR fic -But We Sing It Anyway- (please go read it if you haven’t already, it’s phenomenal.) And it is honestly one of my favourite fics I’ve ever read. I have legitimately laughed, cried, yelled and squealed reading through the entire thing. I loved it so much!

The wonderful @littlelionmay decided to something super special, and contacted me and a few others to ask we wanted to draw some things to go into Drew’s fic, which she decided to print out for a Christmas present. It’s such a lovely idea, and I had to say Yes XD

I decided to go with the good old Voice In The Dark scene- An oldie, but a goodie. I just love how that one portrayed all of the emotion and hopelessness, and the sweet sort of desperation and hope at the end!

What can I say, I’m a sucker for 5am angst.

Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2021? Ooh, absolutely Tennis Lessons by Susannah Dickey. I can't wait to see what she writes in a few years because it was incredibly compelling for a debut - it's a second person novel about a very ordinary young woman coming of age and it just fit perfectly for where I am right now in my life

Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2021? Weirdly enough, same as you, Stella! I'm slowly slowly reading the Amber Spyglass, because I love the His Dark Materials TV series and wanted to get ahead before the last season

New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To? @littlelionmay recommended Project Hail Mary, and I bought it, and then like a total dummy left it in my flat when I came home to see my parents so now I have to wait six weeks to get it back and I'm IMPATIENT

Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2021? Becky Chambers' The Galaxy and the Ground Within, which technically is already out but I'm waiting for the paperback so I can have the whole Wayfarer's set looking the same...

Biggest Disappointment? Before the Coffee Gets Cold. I just think the cultural difference doesn't work in translation, I want to enjoy it but I just keep putting it down

Biggest Surprise? I picked up On a Sunbeam, and I never read graphic novels, and I was surprised by how much I engaged with it and loved it! I thought the pacing was a little awkward later in the book, but on the whole would definitely recommend

Favorite New Author? Susannah Dickey!

Newest Fiction Crush? I don't think I have one...

Newest Favorite Character? Ooh, I keep reading books with unreliable/bad narrators, which makes this difficult. I've a lot of affection for Will from His Dark Materials, though. He's such a good friend and so wise beyond his years. Also, Jules from On a Sunbeam - she's the perfect dose of high-energy and carefree for an often sombre crew, and she has some absolutely beautiful scenes late in the book (I won't say too much because spoilers!)

Book That Made You Cry? I reread The Humans by Matt Haig for the first time since I was 15, and I didn't cry but it did make me very emotional

Book That Made You Happy? I read About a Boy - a little bit dated, but a very easy and comedic read despite touching on some dark topics

Favorite Book Adaption You Saw This Year? I don't tend to watch much TV or film - and I'm contractually obligated to say @knovesstorytelling's adaptation of Dracula, Murray Mysteries (and not just because I'm in it, the writing is so good)

Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year? This is making me think I should write reviews!

Most Beautiful Book You Bought So Far This Year? On a Sunbeam again, I'm so sorry to be repetitive but it's pretty~ I also love the cover colours on Snowflake by Louise Nealon (and I got a free bag when I bought the book so)

What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year? I just got Stardust by Neil Gaiman - after that I want to start on some Brandon Sanderson. And I need to finally read the Expanse books for my poor boyfriend

Zombies Run appreciation post, an addendum.

@littlelionmay wrote a wonderful appreciation for the fandom post.  But as a long time fan it stuck in my chaw a little.  Because long ago, in the before times, before virtual races, before free to play, before interval training... the fandom lived!  It is these architects of the fandom, most of whom have moved on or gone quiet, that I call... The Ancients... In 2015 I discovered many blogs from this fandom that were over a year old...  They are: @collected-sports-bra started a podcast about Zombies Run called Podcast Detected and organized the welcome post.  You all know @ thewondersmith, who may have been the first person to draw Jack as a ginger and Maxine as African American, (both are all but canon now) and who has gone on to draw just about all official art for season 5 plus. Did you know @ crownleys who also has some of the best ZR art going back to 2013?  Their draftsmanship is amazing.  Did you know that the bantering fics of  @ thischarmingand and @ straydog733 probably got the former hired to write several season two missions (including I believe the three part radio boyfriends mission at the start) Also @ zalia wrote many fics and now works for StS.  Im still waiting for her first playable mission.  Did you know the secret identity of the @zrtranscripts blog that lists every mission script in a timely fashion with no interaction from StS?  Its no secret that its @siriusmistake Also I feel @ puptart should be included, I think shes a founding member.  Go deep into the tags my friends, lurk gently on their entries, and discover Hidden Wonders...  know those that came before you, that tagged spoilers, that shipped the unshippable
