29. Do I have a beta reader? Yes, usually. I ask @cassiopeiasara to beta my stories, and @sometimesangryblackwoman always lets me know when I have typos. I type faster than I think, so I always have errors, and it’s always good to have a second opinion.

21. The first fanfic I ever wrote was an MSR fic for the X Files, and it still exists out there on the Internet, but mercifully not under my name.

20. Any ships that surprised me? Hmmm….No? It might surprise others that back in the early days of OUAT I was on board with Swan Queen, but that was before Emma started to suck. Honestly, if one half of the ship is a brunette badass woman, I’m gonna love it no matter what, especially if she wears pantsuits.

1. The podcast "Making Gay history" I've been listening to it when I walk to and from work.

2. Baking. I didn't do it for a few years because I was either living in the dorms or living in a place where I wasn't always comfortable being in the kitchen so now that I'm in neither of those places, im really getting back into it.

3. Surprisingly I'm starting to enjoy multiple tv shows and following them. I've never watched so much tv in my life before. It's amazing what not being in school does to you

4. I'm trying to get a volunteer position at the local shelter to work with cats

5. Fucking rain. I'm super homesick for it

5 things on my to-do list

1. A ton of adulting. Things that need to be done and will take weeks to do but they seriously need to be done

2. Bake a vegan, gluten free cookie that tastes good for my co-workers. It's a shame only some of my co-workers get to taste my baking

3. Clean my room (not happening anytime soon)

4. Make meatballs for my lunches this week

5. Get out my sewing kit and finally patch up everything I have that needs mending (and has since june) that I've been too lazy to do

That's really smart! I bet that's a big part of it. I'm curious to see how the rest of the medical stuff plays out. I was a little diasappointed by the diabetes work, so I'm looking forward to seeing more medical next week.

I hope we get to see a linear continuation of the episode and not just a jump forward to how things are an hour, a day or a week later.

36. “That’s so gross.��

Scully learned very early on that her partner had strange eating habits.  Like a toddler, everything he touched seemed to end up in his mouth.  It was bad enough to watch him inhale a chili cheese dog, but to stick his finger in a pool of residue and take a taste on the mere suspicion it was maple syrup, was something else.

“That’s so gross,” Scully would chastise, her face twisted in disgust.

“What?” Mulder would ask, innocent question marks in his eyes as though he had no idea why she was disturbed.

Sure, he’d turn his nose up at tofu and unbuttered popcorn, but over the years she’d seen him eat frito pie, poutine, rocky mountain oysters, pickled pigs feet, tripe, fried Spam, deep fried Oreos, curried goat, and probably at least 100 other things she couldn’t even remember.  Wherever they were, he always managed to find the strangest places to eat at.  She was more than happy to stick with pizza and Chinese take-out just so she didn’t have to watch him dig into a plate of chitlins or cheese curds.

Anytime she brought it up to him that what he was eating was in fact, so disgusting she couldn’t bare to look at it, he would remind her that she ate a cricket.  And it was alive when she ate it.  She would never live that one down.

Something began to happen over the years, though.  While he used to be able to wash down atomic hot wings with a Slurpee from 7-11, eventually, he’d show up in Scully’s room in the middle of the night begging for an antacid or for her to just kill him and put him out of his misery.  Even milder fare as simple as French fries started to get to him.

“Poor Mulder,” she would say, retrieving a packet of Rolaids that she always kept at the ready for him.  “You could always have a salad.”

“Never,” he would answer, defiantly.  

In one moment of indigestion of such spectacular proportions, he lay curled into a fetal position on her bed and vowed never again to eat anything fried ever again and declared horseradish to be secretly manufactured by the devil himself.  Scully couldn’t do much besides offer him a bottle of Pepto Bismol, which she also started carrying regularly, and rub his head for him until he fell asleep.  And in the morning, it was biscuits and gravy for him at the all night truck stop across from the hotel before they were on the road to their next investigation.

And when they’d finally crossed that line from friends to lovers, it came as no surprise to her that in less than a week he’d have licked and tasted just about every square inch of her body.  In a sleepy afterglow as she lay on her stomach, he mouthed the sweat from her spine from her neck to her tailbone.  All she could think is that everything he touched really did end up in his mouth…eventually.

“That’s so gross,” she murmured, looking back at him over her shoulder with her head pillowed on her arms.

“What?” he asked.  “I happen to like the way you taste.”

“You also like the taste of liverwurst so you’re an unreliable judge.”

“You know, you ate-”

“A live cricket once.  Yes, Mulder, I know.  I also never claimed to like the taste.”

Several passes of his tongue later, he was beside her, a mirror of her own position with his head turned towards her and pillowed on folded arms.

“You know what the best part is, Scully?” he asked.

“Hm?”

“You taste like sunflower seeds and you’re never going to give me heartburn.”

She laughed.

@blossom–of–snow @ila9182 and @mikusc tagged me in the name five things you wrote that you like thing, thank you!! I’m so surprised/pumped TBH. I think I’ve gotten around to this rather late, and everyone I know’s been tagged? So, if you’ve not been, go ahead and consider yourself tagged.

1. I guess I really like ��Right Ascension.” I never finished it, but I like the ideas I had. It makes me wince, now. . . but I have renovation plans! It’s my next idea after I finish #2

2. Limens. Easily the best/longest/most thought-out thing I’ve ever written. The first half all came out the week after the episode that didn’t happen, and I think it’s gotten better since then. I’d like to go back and edit it someday, since the whole thing is un-betaed.

3. The Skywalkers. Kind of dumb, super (marshmallow)-fluffy, but I enjoyed it.

4. I think Non Nocere came out fairly well. It was different, for sure.

5.  I dunno. I have a lot of stuff in the works, but. . . not a whole lot else that I really love anymore. I wrote a bunch of stuff when I was a kid, reading kid books and writing at a kid level. Not that that’s bad, but it’s like your old American Girl doll. You loved the shit outta it, still appreciate it, but you’ve grown past it. Ya feel?

I have no idea what tags you’re talking about, but I reallllly want to revive it. After staring at my computer all day, I haven’t been reading much that’s not fanfic, haha. I’ve read almost everything new that’s been posted here (if I missed sharing any of it, sorry, it wasn’t intentional!), and I’m giving @commanderraydorsass’s stories a reread, yet again 😂

I didn't realize it was you writing Folie a Deux, but I want you to know I really love that story. It's not often someone writes about classical ballet well or captures that mixed range emotion that comes with the Nutcracker haha (:

Thank you! I did my time in the Nutcracker trenches (granted, as an adult dancer, not a kid), and I also worked for the Washington Ballet, so this world is one that I know pretty well. I never expected to get a prompt that was firmly in my wheelhouse. I could talk about classical ballet for HOURS and never get tired, but putting Laura and Bill in this world was tough. I’m glad you loved it, and thank you for telling me!

1. I also used to write fan fiction while in middle school. It was for the manga Hana Kimi. I never finished either of the 2 I started. But there was a lot of kind people who thought an 8th grader was a good writer.

2. I played softball for 8 years from sometime in elementary school until 10th grade. I played catcher and was actually quite good at it. I stopped playing because I changed schools and didn't know how to get on the team at my new school.

3. Your cat is currently making biscuits on my butt. I don't mind, I think it's cute.

4. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I know it's all about consumerism and people typically put a lot of importance on the gifts and how much each gift costs, but I honestly couldn't care if I got any gifts so long as I got to spend it with the people I love.

5. I'm a morning person. I typically wake up with my first alarm or even before it. I usually wake up happy, especially if the sun is shining, and I don't even need coffee. Most people obviously hate me for this but I just think it's because they're jealous 😉
