Hello everyone!

☆Noodle post of the day consists of a series of more research for that Lackadaisy fan animatic I am working on (mentioned in previous posts w/my Sable and Rocky human designs!).

I've been working very hard!!! My storyboard is almost done ^^

☆The project is inspired by a song (i'll keep it as a surprise until I post hehe) and a short synopsis would be this: Sable has a rendez-vous with Mitzy at the Little Daisy Cafe, and Mitzy is running late. Rocky encounters him at the cafe and decides to try and spook him, telling him how dangerous Mitzy apparently is, so he could leave. In doing so, Rocky will break into his usual theatrics and do a whole performance, leaving Sable confused and very disturbed.

Its heavily inspired by some scenes seen in the comic and I thought the song was perfect for this scenario!!!! (Oh and I'll draw them as human)

☆Yesterday and today I've been working on choosing colour palettes for the backgrounds and characters. My goals are to make them reminiscent of the iconic colouring of Tracy Butler's comic panels, use 2 to 3 colours and really keep it simple (so I can stick w/them during the whole animatic).

I did a lot of samples;

And some more Rocky studies! As I was doing some sort of character sheet!!!

Dont ask why but I've been STRUGGLING to draw his "human hair" for days haha- I spent a lot of time on it☠️ but I decided i'll keep something simple for the animatic (not the crazy perfect geometrical versions I have down there, those only serve as inspiration haha).

So- yes. Working very hard!! I'll keep posting my advancements here ♡ I won't lie, a bit of support and motivation would be greately appreciated😭it IS my first time doing a whole animatic.

I wanna do something nice and fun!!☆

Dev Log Update - Lackadaisy Animated Short Film

A wild Sedgewick appears (..and he’s only slightly ossified). Character sheet spiffed up for the occasion by desiger, L. Frostad!

Also, a snippet from the latest animation compilation. Roughs by Kaylan Peattie! It looks a little chunky here because of tumblr limitations, but the full video featuring more animation and voice acting is now up here on YouTube.

I am very sorry.  I will add it.  I did not mean to steal   Most all the Deuce I post comes from @matthewmohawk, so you might contact him as well.  I am not an artist and I only photograph scenery.   However, when I plugged in the address, this is what came up  Can you give me more of a clue as to which pic this was?

discord is still like this, in a sense, but it's not quite the same because you still have the constant visibility of peoples' online status, what they're playing, what they're listening to. and it operates more like a chat client in that you can see people typing and messages are loaded instantly.

part of what i miss from old forums like serebii and neopets and, if you're in my niche, littledaisycafe- is the fact that responses come S L O W. there's not such thing as talking over each other, aside from the occasional jumping. there is absolutely ZERO expectation for a quick reply. you could argue about your friends not expecting you to be available 24/7 but this isn't about that. this is about the NORM being to expect someone to reply in 5 minutes. or maybe 30. or maybe in 2 days after they backread everything.

and also forum games. no one does those anymore.

personally i think internet society peaked at the stage where, if you wanted to talk to like minded people about something you had to go and find their personal forum in their isolated little website and physically log in each day to send messages in there and f5 refresh the whole thing every hour or so and there was no "following" or "dashboard/timeline" and the most off topic you got was a little subchannel where people mostly just recommended other media and that was the extent of it. i think even like. FFN forums can be considered the late stage of this era because you still had to look for and join the convo of those little niche corners

Dev Log Update! - Full Article at Little Daisy Cafe

- The voice cast list is up!

- The script underwent a lot of final revisions and refinement.

- Storyboard work has begun!

- Meanwhile, the background designers (Newt and Frog!) have been building reference models and working out visual scene details, like the speakeasy bar above.

- Character design is moving along on multiple fronts - above are some of Tai’s character explorations of overall design and mouth shapes for dialog animation, plus my accompanying notes. Zib’s eyebrow mechanics needed some explaining. (Ultimately, all of the characters will have full turnarounds - this is just a step along the way).

Hey! The Dev Log updated earlier this week with some peeks at development, including some 3D work we’re using for planning, some experiments with Grease Pencil and uh, a dinosaur. (Car model by Newt!)
