FINETEC!! You guys all know it’s one of my favourite inks/paints to use - almost nothing else flows so nicely through a sharp nib while still shining soo bright. So here’s a quick tip for how to get the most out of it - and how to make your life easier if you’re using it a lot! . It’s not complicated 😂 the secret is: just mix it all up at once and keep it in an airtight jar. Done! . It’s much easier using a magnetic stirrer (I’m using Soap by @luis.creations - you can still get 10% off with code SOAPMOYA if you haven’t got one yet). . Just break up your Finetec cake (I used a hammer!) add water, and leave it on the stirrer for a few hours. (In the case of this video, long enough to watch an episode of #CriticalRole - about four hours.) If you have a stirrer that has an auto shut off this won’t work. But you can also just leave your Finetec cake to soak overnight and stir it all up manually, if you don’t have a Soap. . I use warm water (of course - it was 42°C here today, all the water that comes out of the taps is warm 😭) and add about 15ml to start, which usually seems to do the trick. Make sure you’re using distilled water unless you live somewhere where the water is very clean . Once it’s all mixed, just keep it the way you would keep any heavily pigmented ink. It will settle a little, but just stir it while you’re using it (use #Soap again!) and it’s fine. A huge timesaver if you’ve got 100 envelopes to write! . . .
