Just wanna tell you that I LOVE your drawings of Lloyd! Love how you draw his hair and I like the little earrings (they remind me of Tanjiro's earrings from Demon Slayer). I'd be interested to see your version of Lloyd but with his DR "beard"

Awwww, thank you! This is so nice to hear.

Honestly, Lloyd’s hair and earrings are among some of my favorite things to draw. I like to give him a messy, lion’s mane hairstyle combined with some piercings bc I think it gives him a sort of young, rebellious look.

Interestingly enough, I hadn’t based Lloyd’s earrings off of Tanjiro’s at all. This aspect of my Lloyd design comes from a DTIYS I participated in awhile back. (You can find it here.) I loved giving him these earrings so much while making this piece that I ended up incorporating them into my design full time.

Now, onto your request.

Usually when drawing my DR Lloyd design, I don’t include any facial hair. It’s not technically visible in canon, which is something I try to preserve in my art process. (Kudos to anyone who does draw him with facial hair though, they are the backbone of this fandom. Side note: I don’t usually give him pointed ears either but that’s a tangent for another time.)

If I were to give him facial hair, I’d probably do one of the following:

Either a single hair, the beginnings of a beard, or maybe just some full on stubble—which I’d wager would only happen if he stole some of my Oc’s hair growth tea lmao

He better watch his back face, though. Lyra wouldn’t be very happy if he stole from her.

How have you been?

I've been... ok. Things are slow at work, but I'm ahead getting ahead of things on my tbr list - so that's good.

A little frustrated at the current state of events, but I think everyone is. I keep having to remind myself not to be glued to my phone screen to keep updated 24/7. But also worried for family members who may be effected by everything going on, so I'm trying to keep informed for them.

On the plus side, I'm working on knitting my temperature blanket for the year. I'm behind by 2 weeks, but it's not taking me long to catch up.

Going into this fight, Rapton's impression of Lloyd is that he's a talented warrior who wouldn't kill him, since he was willing to risk his life and walk the "Impossible" Path to save Rapton. That's why Rapton spends most of his time bantering and bragging about being able to buy more unicorn figurines.

Meanwhile, Lloyd just lost Kai, has only just started controlling the visions that were tormenting him, and blames Rapton for the death of Riyu's mother. If it weren't for him saving Rapton's life, the Matriarch would have lived (in Lloyd's mind). Let's be clear -- when he held Rapton over the edge of the hover chariot, he was ready to drop him, despite his assertion that "all life is important." The Ninja don't have a "no killing" code.

I think the thing I want the most is for him to finally feel at peace with where he's at. Lloyd is a character who is always being thrown into insane situations without getting any say in the matter. He was thrown into being the green ninja, fighting his father, the Overlord. He was hunted down by the Overlord because he had a power that he didn't ask for. His life wasn't chosen for him. Every second they have "down time", Lloyd spends it training. That's shown in Rebooted, Way of the Departed, The Quest for the Lost Powers, and honestly implied in Dragons Rising (Season 2, Part 1, when he's asleep on the training course). He has spent his whole life taking punches and training to be ready.

When Ninjago ends (which I hope it doesn't end for many years because this show is everything to me), I would want for Lloyd to have become confident in his skill as a leader and a teacher. Because now, despite all the time he's spent as a ninja, and all the time he's spent perfecting his skill and honing his power, his confidence is still wavering. Which is honestly good for his character because it makes sense. But again, this is just for when the show ends.

I don't even know if this makes sense.

TLDR; I want Lloyd to be able to see that he is a good person who has done good things and I want him to have confidence in himself because he deserves to believe in himself.

I have a theory I want your opinion on:

When Lloyd has his vision in ep 10 we see these symbols:

These look to be a symbol of the main four Elemental Powers + Lloyd's and water. But why water? It's always been known to be a secondary Element- not a part of Creation.

What if each Source Dragon has a main element to them (with Riyu being the 7th)? And what if Wojira is the Source Dragon for water? But it's like a "Lucifer kicked out of Heaven" kinda thing. She was stripped of her wings and ability to speak.

A description from the Season 2 sets mentions that the Source Dragons have a "spirit form". And Wojira was originally thought to just be a sea spirit.

Aka: Nya killed a god and didn't think twice about it

HUH... you COULD be onto something actually... I don't necessarily imagine Wojira to be the Source Dragon as she's only described as a sea serpent but I see the logic actually! I get it!

I like the headcanon that despite being the younger brother of the ninja he's taller than Kai (so he and Nya make jokes about it). I headcanon that he has long hair, but not too long. Long enough for him to tie it back. While I don't see him having fangs like other ppl I do see him having small dark horns just poking out his hair. As for a dragon tail....maybe not very long. He totally wags it like a dog when he gets happy. Regular human ears.
