Hear ye, hear ye, it's time for a writing trade!

How It Works

You DM me, "I'd like to trade!" (or anything else that indicates you want to participate!)

We exchange chapters. I send you a link to mine, you send me a link to yours, we read each other's chapter.

We each re-write the other's chapter! In our own style, with our own approach, but hitting all the same plot points with the same characters.

We exchange the re-written chapters!

Okay but what's the point?

It's a great way to develop your skills!

You get to see how someone else would handle the same story!

You get to share and talk about your story (critically!!) with another author!!

We get to have fun together!! with writing!! (:o?!?!)

October reads!

Bit of a mix this month, couple of comedic books, a bedtime story read to my daughter, a comic about pregnancy, the latest in my Robin Hobb journey (this one desperately in need of an editor) and the new Elizabeth Strout, which I’m unsurprised to find is fantastic.

Perhaps... Indeed.

Perhaps they are kind words,

Perhaps sincere words, even.

And probably even more than that.

Perhaps they are merely a man's response to a beautiful woman in front of him.

Perhaps they are a man's response to seeing his destruction in the said woman's eyes.

Where.. beyond the class, beyond the words. She sees the soul that lies beneath.

Perhaps she did indeed see how she leads him astray.

How all he know is he could very well lose himself in her eyes.

Lose himself in the way she looks at him. He is lost in her.

But in her, he found himself.

What a strange, yet wonderful thing.

A word. A touch. A mere glance even.

Yet... She made him feel more than he ever has before.

He cannot say he knows the difference right now.

But he does know one thing...

And it's how he wants her to accept his heart as hers, like how he longs to accept hers as his.

How he wishes to be her reality she seeks for in fantasy.

i'm particularly interested if you...

🎧 write adult fiction, especially literary fiction, horror (gothic or otherwise), gothic romance, fantasy, or really anything with a gritty/emotional feel

🎧 like any bands from the 90s grunge scene (or 80s hard rock) (i can and will yap for days)

🎧 like vampires, pirates, or cowboys

🎧 are a fellow college student (we can struggle together!!)

IN THE END, YOU KILL US BOTH is a novel about a lesbian arsonist rebuilding her life after a violent trauma, and the texan loner that inspires her to seek revenge on her abusers. it's also a story about relentless grief, hunger, and the unending staircase of healing.
