1. Most Hits: Unexpected. It's the one with the most updates, so makes sense.

She made it halfway across the room to the large man when she stopped and frowned. ’Was Thancred flirting with me?’ She always had such a hard time telling, and he seemed to have a mischievous reputation and way with women–especially if those visions were true and not some strange aetheric fever dreams. Aeryn shook her head. Thancred was a gregarious man, objectively handsome–the open cut of the oasis style shirt and jacket he wore tonight flattered his athletic form–and they’d fought alongside one another a few times now. He had been looking out for her, naught more, his perceptive skills noting her discomfort.

2. Second Most Kudos: Unexpected again! Cuz that and Downtime compete for my most read and popular fics. I should update Downtime.

3. Third Most Comments: Downtime! I tend to reply often, so my comment counts are high, but Unexpected is #1, while Bearing Sins of the Past is #2 for comment threads.

“I believe the Exarch wished Urianger’s aid with some arcane matter,” Alphinaud said, as he joined his sister. “They are like to be occupied for several bells. Why don’t you join us?” He said. “We were going to explore the Crystarium’s new nightlife, before retiring to our quarters--and knowing Alisaie, continuing to stay up half the night.” “Me? You’re the one wanting to gab endlessly as you write every stray thought into your journal,” Alisaie countered. Minfilia looked between them, bewildered for a moment--then she smiled, realizing the honest affection beneath the banter. She nodded. “I...think I would like that.”

4. Fourth Most Bookmarks: Rogue’s Prelude. An earlier longfic (37.2k words) of my headcanon of Thancred meeting Louisoix, Papalymo, and Yda as a youth in Limsa Lominsa.

The docks were busy; the tide had come in recently and had brought a number of ships with it, divesting cargo and people into the city. Thancred enjoyed the sights, sounds, and even some of the smells as he wove between fishermen stalls and merchant carts, seeking unfamiliar faces. He didn’t even look as he brushed past a few Thavnairian traders, listening to their sing-song language as he cloyed a purse from one animated fellow, arguing with the bosun of the ship they had just left. He should really pay more attention to his surroundings when in a foreign city. As should the older elezen man Thancred noted, leaning on a staff while a pretty blonde hyur woman consulted a map. Her elder listened to her with patience--or perhaps he was simply half-asleep in the sun and heat. Thancred ambled toward the pair, falling in behind sailors moving crates from the pier onto their ship, now that their passengers had disembarked. As he moved past his mark, he deftly nicked the contents from the old man’s belt pouch-- --and found himself skidding a few fulms down the dock, a brief flash of light and a sound like a small, localized clap of thunder ringing Thancred’s ears and causing stars to burst before his eyes. A few people nearby were startled; he thought he maybe heard someone laugh.

5. Fifth Most Words: Bearing Sins of the Past. A 25.1k longfic that unexpectedly came out of various FFXIV Write prompts about my WoL Aeryn's backstory; her bio-father's involvement in the Dragonsong War, and the Dragoon that hid that knowledge for twenty years to keep her safe--and bury his own guilt.

X’rhun narrowed his eyes. “I agreed to the secret for your damnable Ishgardian politics,” he said. “But it’s just us out here. Are you truly protecting Aeryn—or yourself?” Alberic turned, and X’rhun braced himself, as he was certain the dragoon was about to strike him. Instead, Alberic remained in a state of tension, staring without seeing at some middle distant point. “You ever carry something so long it’s become woven into you?” he asked quietly.

6. Least Words: Savior, the very first thing I posted to Ao3. 262 words, 2nd person POV about the aftermath of the Final Steps of Faith. There are technically shorter works, but they tend to go into my prompt or specific topic-chaptered fics.

You couldn’t save them. They had sacrificed themselves, to ensure you lived, to ensure this moment. They had come, once again, to your side. To end the war. To protect the city. To save a friend.

So disclaimer, i'm more of a one-shot type of reader for the most part, I really enjoy a nice hearty and wordy piece. I'm also a whore so I enjoy a lot of pwps!! I delve into omegaverse and some dead dove fics a lot too so please READ THE TAGS before reading

Also, these are more of my own personal reviews of the fics? You can read the summaries +tags to find out more :D I'm sure the authors can summarize better than I can

but anyway, I'll start out with the fics recommended to me by others, and ones that are so widely loved by the fandom!

These are multi-chaptered:

"I Wish You Were My Husband"- Feynite; Bingqiu, Liushen, and Qijiu all in one!

This fic was recommended by a good friend of mine, and it is sooo good anon. It's got wife stealing, love triangles, and is sooo hilariously funny it's made me genuinely laugh out loud while reading. There was times where I felt like I was just reading canon content and had to remind myself this wasn't mxtx writing. The author does a wonderful job in delving into Shen Qingqiu/Shen Yuan's inner mental gymnastics, and the complicated history and relationships between the different pairings is so tangible and well done. Not to mention the dialogue between SQQ and SQH made me CACKLE.

"Like A Tooth From a Mouth (I Leave A Hole)- Anonymous; Bingyuan (?)

Okay I started this fic but still haven't gotten through all of it, but the first chapter (first few paragraphs really) captivated me so much I was instantly hooked. Actually, I may draw this out at some point bc I really love the beginning of this fic. So angsty. So well written- especially once Liu Qingge gets introduced, he's so cute and I really like the dynamics of everyone in this one. Disciple!Shen yuan with his system and Shizun!Luo Binghe will always be messy and i'm here for it <3

"Shen Yuan of No Relation"- Gemi ; Bingyuan, Qijiu (i'll probably come back and edit if needed)

Ahhh. Ze fic of all time. OKAY so I haven't actually finished this one yet, i'm currently still reading. BUT I WILL SAY: It is so good so far. So good. The author's writing feels so hearty and their descriptions of the setting is something I fell in love with immediately. The way they write the characters is very endearing and i'm giddy with excitement to continue to read c: This fic was very very recommended by multiple friends so i'm happy to finally start it!!

"Love in Another Shape"- Celardor ; Starts Liushen -> Bingliu -> Bingliushen

Okay this fic was recommended to me by the same person who recommended IWYWMH so you know this shit is bangin. I have not read this yet, but I have had many people gush about it to me and had the lovely opportunity to chat w the author and they are the sweetest person so I'm very excited to start it next!!

'Satisfaction'- Raiiskaim ; Bingjiu

ohohoho ok- can I just say I love Raiiskaim's works, but this one is soooo delicious. It's got dead-dove like elements so be warned, but ahhh the follow up to this fic is "Discontent, and the spaces inbetween" and dude omg the ending literally made me gasp. Can't recommend this enough if it's your flavor.

"Blessing in disguise" - chamsie; ...implied Qijiu?

yeah i like omegaverse and i will not be shamed about it on my own blog. BUT this one is not...your typical pwp omegaverse fic. It's very shen jiu centered around him and his babby- shen yuan! it's very cute and good and I quite enjoyed it when I read it a whiiiile ago. Actually, I think it's time for a re-read. heh

These next ones are one shots

"We Should Stick Together" and "You're My Best Friend, I'll Love You Forever" - Pennydaniels; Liujiu

ohhhh my god. OHHHH MY GOOOOODDDD. Do you ever read a fic and have it touch something so deeply in you and it's like a soothing balm to a really rough aching burn? yeah so that's how these two fics are to me. I vividly remember reading them on an airplane and literally crying my eyes out I had to ask the flight attendant for tissues- and got side eyed by the other passengers. Specifically YMBF,ILYF.... this fic definitely shaped the way I would like to be loved. Excellent works, definitely recommend, read tags, as always. Pennydaniels is one of my fav ao3 authors, so definitely recommend checking out their other stuff too!

"Through the Widening Circles"- ancient_moonshine ; Bingjiu

Please read tags. It didn't bother me but ik it may not be everyone's flavor- but trust me when I say that this fic also made me sob like a baby, especially towards the end. The author does a great job of navigating through trauma and healing in such a touching way, but it is a pretty heavy fic because of these delicate topics. Such a good read, and I think one of my first SVSSS fanfics too!

"Vedaniya" - ancient_moonshine ; Bingjiu

Once again another fic by this amazing author, this one is a little more kinky ehehe but it's still very good and there's a gut wrenching scene that gets me every time near the beginning.

Anyways I hope this list satisfies! I can't wait to read more and get recommended more as we keep going on this scummy adventure :D if you have any recs, please be sure to drop them down below or in my inbox :3 always happy to add to my queue of reads.

Disclaimer, I mostly read on AO3 and not entirely sure if everyone or every fic is on tumblr, so I'll link to AO3 for now :)

If you haven't checked out @lyworth's fics you MUST. Green is the Colour is her most famous work and would highly recommend if you like sassy Ominis, a sassier MC (Allegra Chant marry me), insane plot and the romance! The ROMANCE!!! And all incredibly written too. Would also highly recommend A Song of Saints and Sinners, if you want an original story set post-Hogwarts, and my personal favourite of her work, 1 New Message.

If you want something closer resembling the game storyline with a touch of angst may I recommend Levaaah's Dark Hearts, Bright Wings, which features a Muggle-born Slytherin navigating the goblin rebellion while also developing big feels for Ominis? Sublime. Delightful. Sad but in a tasty way. This series is finished as well as sadly they don't write for HL anymore, but still an amazing group of stories.

I would be REMISS if I did not mention @sloanesallow's incredible Ominis/MC work I Know Places; post-Hogwarts mystery-solving, with a reserved Hufflepuff Muggle-born MC Sloaney and an Ominis that makes me dhdgdhskghd. Literally got me into reading for HL. Also one of the most fantastic writers in the fandom. Every sentence is publishing quality. Top shelf stuff.

Anything by spaceyaceface; they mostly write oneshots as well as other pairings, but in particular You Were the First is one of my faves. You will develop feels for Ominis in this one. Just the first line, "When Ominis Gaunt fell in love, he fell slowly" makes me swoon.

And finally by heartsof_theround, their twoshot The Illustrious Prodigy Painter. Ominis learns to paint. It is extremely wholesome and I think about this fic all the time. One of my all-time faves.

I'm also shouting out @ps-cactus's Shades of Silver Lining which I have yet to read (I'm an extremely slow reader rip) but having seen snippets of their work I think will be worth your time as well!

Are there any other prowl relationships you ship or just enjoy? I’m asking as a big jazzprowl fan that got dragged into constructiprowl (by which I mean I got caught up in a couple fics and posts and never found my way out). But it’s also interesting to read about platonic relationships like with prowl and bluestreak or prowl and smokescreen, especially with all the different ways they get written and explored. But yeah, I was kind of curious what you think since your current (amazing) fic is from Jazz’s POV and more influenced by him.

So the absolutely bonkers thing with transformers is there is LITERALLY no bad ship. You could probs sell me on any Prowl ship if you're convincing enough 😂

I'm still pretty new to the fandom so I haven't had to dig that far into alternate pairings yet but I totally see how Prowl could work with like, Rodimus, Bee, any con for #flavour, etc, etc. I know EVENTUALLY I might start reading some Tarantulas stuff but I haven't been over there yet. Have to be in an experimental mood and have to find the right fic. Soundwave/Prowl/Jazz is 👌 too.

I HAVE hit the constructiprowl for SURE though. god they're so funny with Prowl😂 My friend was DEEEEEEEEEEEEEP in the Prowl blorbo sphere long before me and the structies are her BOYS.

Creature_Thing's Bitsit fic really had me open my eyes to the potential of Jazz/Prowl/Ricochet. I'd NEVER thought of it but I like Blue/Sunny/Sides and with the sometimes fan headcannon that Rico and Jazz are estranged spark splits its like OH YEAH. SAME RULES CAN APPLY. Now I see they have a Barricade/Prowl and it's like... hm well damn, if anyone can convince me it's probs them lol.

PLATONIC PROWL RELATIONSHIPS ALL THE WAY THOUGH. UGGGGG. Sometimes when I'm in the jazzprowl tag on ao3 go out of my way to add "prowl&bluestreak" or "Prowl&smokescreen". I love their relationships in fic in every capacity.

If I were writing a Prowl focused fic there ain't no way it wouldn't turn into a JazzProwl, Prowl&Everyone fic. I love it when the grumpy character in a long shipfic ends up having a slowburn friendship with every single character on the side as the time they spend with their love interest allows them to grow and become more confident in their other relationships

1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?

This was my first year on AO3, and I posted 216,682 before the calendar year ended!

2. How many fics did you complete this year?

2, one longfic Golden Doe in a Valley of Shadow and a one shot, Before the Night Ends, made specifically for my beloved @theseersgarden and some beautiful Elriel art she had commissioned by Lulybot! (This one may technically not be finished... we shall see)

3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?

Four in progress, all three parts of Velaris Memorial Hospital (which is kind of like one big intertwined Feysand, Nessian, and Elriel AU) and another long fic, A Court of Twisted Fate

4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?

Oh this is so hard. Everything I wrote was what I needed in the moment, so it's difficult to disentangle myself. But I do think Me, You and the Moon Part One and Two from A Court of Twisted Fate was one of my favorite experiences writing. Also some of my favorite things I wrote haven't been posted yet, so I can't share yet!

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

Absolutely Velaris Memorial Hospital. I have been writing third person limited fantasy and sci-fi for well over a decade, and have followed that in my fanfiction. Writing contemporary romance or modern AU in first person perspective was not something I ever imagined doing, but it has unlocked something in me. I am a huge contemporary romance reader, but writing has been an incredible new journey and I have so much newfound respect for first person perspective!

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

Again, Velaris Memorial Hospital. It is by far my smallest readership (which I expected, I am new to the Nessian and Feysand arena and of course there's a huge variety of ship and character preferences. Not everyone is a fan of all three brothers and all three sisters) but it has wound up by far being some of the most engaged and supportive readers, and I have been absolutely loving writing for it!

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

Hmmm it's a bit hard to say, I don't have have that many fics out and not a super good sense of this yet. I do think my Nessian fic, The Albatross has my lowest metrics overall. And writing for Nesta and Cassian has also unlocked something very deep and inspired within me. But VMH is an enormous project and kind of choose your own adventure, so I hope it gets some more love in the long run!

8. Who is an artist that inspired you?

Literally too many to count but I have to give the biggest shoutout to @elainemg97. Her artistry knows no bounds, and she is one of the best Elriel eggs out there. She is always kind and encourages positive fandom behavior, and is so encouraging and passionate about helping other artists grow and encouraging them on their journey! @stickyelectrons has such a beautiful eye for color, I just love what she manages (especially for Lucien) and I'm such a fan of @santkazoya and @tealeaves-and-rosepetals

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

Literally way way too many to count. @yourstarsmyscars, @rosanna-writer, @foundress0fnothing, @nikachansstuff, and citizenofvelaris are not only phenomenal writers but inspired beta readers and I feel so lucky to know them. @bloomingdarkgarden and @tealeaves-and-rosepetals are magic and pixie dust, truly phenomenal writers but also so available to support other writers and brainstorm and daydream with. I definitely have a lot more fic to read, I write much more often than I read so it leaves me pretty behind. But I'm sure I missed some and there are so many exceptional writers in this fandom!

Oh also, @tswaney17 has stepped away from fic writing but I'm SO excited for her journey repurposing I Do Bad Things With You into an original story for publishing!

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

See all of the above, but a special shoutout to @jasmineandcedar who writes such lovely short form pieces for Tumblr and did a Shakespeare inspired piece that had my jaw on the floor.

11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?

Before the Night Ends with @theseersgarden! It started just with @theseersgarden brainstorming ideas for a caption for an artwork in process, and trying to come up with a title/head canon/sweet moment to describe the scene. And then it spiraled into, wait a min... there's a whole ass fic here.

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

It has been really awesome to see how well received Golden Doe in a Valley of Shadow was. I try not to get too caught up in what fic is the most popular and whether or not I'm showing up on "best" lists, because art is subjective, and as I mentioned, I think some of my best work has had the smallest engagement. But Golden Doe in a Valley of Shadow was my first ever fic. I was a little baby on tumblr and thought maybe four or five people would read a few chapters. I had no idea it would take off in the way that it did, and it still stuns me to this day. Other than that, just writing consistently, and finding wonderful people who fill my cup and and are so supportive and encouraging.

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

Fic writing is super different from original novel writing in a lot of ways, and I still feel like I'm getting my footing in a lot of ways. I find myself very often coming to my fellow writers being like- does this fly in fic culture? Am I overthinking this? But I think the heart of all creative writing is the same, which is trying to find the joy and a build a story that draws readers in and it's just a beautiful thing to invite people into the visions that take place in your mind, even if you are still learning and imperfect. Because you never know what will connect with someone. Also, shadows make great dildos.

14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?

Don't be afraid of the work. Do not fear the muck. Lean into the trenches. I am a huge advocate for transparency in the writing process, and the writing world (fic especially) I think is extra guilty of uplifting the work that just flowed out of them and took no effort at all. Grabs face LISTEN TO ME. Your best work might be what you fought the hardest for. Your strongest scene might be the one that had you in a black pit of despair, extremely close to giving up. Writing is a craft. The only way to get better is to write, this is true. But many people write thousands and thousands of words and never improve, because of the notion that writing should be easy, that it can only happen when you are inspired and flowing and know what you are doing.

Do not fear the trenches. Do not shy away from the work. Not everything comes easily. That doesn't mean you are a bad writer or can't do it. DISPEL the ideas that writing should be easy or come naturally or not require deep effort and work.

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

To focus back more on original work. I don't do well with working on more than one project at a time, and I really dug myself into it working on four stories at once. There is no room left for my novel writing, but I can't leave projects unfinished or they will weigh on me. Also continuing to figure out my place in fandom and sharing what I can while staying away from the things that drain me and take away my joy. OH and letting myself take more time. AO3 is an archive, the work will live on. Encouraging myself to be human and need rest and time away. It's so critical to detach from the need for a constant stream of validation, breathe, and focus on the work and your well being.

I try to hold myself to replying to any comments fics receive when they're WIPs (I gave myself a pass for the second chapter of Piglet since it was literally christmas day by this point) and then once they're completed, I reply sporadically. would love to reply to more but I have like 14 minutes free time every day.

light smut. apart from seventeen hours and statten park which are just... smut.

someone once took beneath a big blue sky and removed any traces of my name from it and put it in a google drive folder so people could download it for printing/binding, which is something I explicitly ask people not to do. that wasn't cute. oh and then an actual printed book of it appeared online for purchase and I became radicalised x

no because I want to retain full control of my work (see above) and I can't do this if it's reposted by others, even in other languages

Your comment is so lovely I reread it a bunch before deciding to reply today with links and all the good stuff.

I have given the majority of the sequel sneak peaks I can afford to give yesterday, so we'll have to wait until KMKY is finished for more sequel goodness, I only caved yesterday bc it was my birthday and I love giving presents.

What I can do is link some old answers to various gravity falls writing prompts I've done before on my blog, and recommend some of my fanfics in other fandoms to tide you over.

I'm working as hard as I can to get the next chapter ready for you, so hopefully it will be ready after xmas or in early jan, and we literally have the roadside attraction chapter, Dipper and Mabel vs the Future and Weirdmageddon to go and then its the end of KMKY!

I'll be plotting and organising the timeline for ITBICD (It's The Best I Can Do or KMKY 2 electric boogaloo lmao) during this time too so hopefully I can launch straight into it after the final chapter of KMKY is posted!

For people who like the spooky side of Billford I have a half finished Magnus Archives AU fic too that sort of predicted the Jon in a computer part of The Magnus Protocol (I am cursed with the gift of prophecy)

For fanfic recommendations I haven't had the chance to read a lot of Billford fanfic since I tried not to read others fics while working on KMKY (there were a few notable exceptions, Theseus's Guide by @stump-not-found slaps (its fun, well paced and zany!) and I read Statement Abnegation (dark and gritty, not sure I was a fan of the ending since I like Ford to have more agency but for a dark fic it went places) since it was recommended to me. I also enjoyed A Postcard from New Mexico by roseverdict (an excellent concept and nice Stan brothers bonding) that I felt compelled to read)

If you don't mind other fandoms, I'll link my ao3 bookmarks of other stories I loved. There's a lot of batman, magnus archives, star trek, the locked tomb, miraculous ladybug, witcher, thor, rise of the guardians and homestuck (because we all had that phase, don't lie) and the list isn't very long, just some fics I like rereading there.

Welcome to my Miscellaneous Vox Fic Rec List!

Soooo after a lot of consideration, I decided to make a third rec list. This one will be for miscellaneous fics, which can mean anything from smaller Vox pairings to fics that are not strictly Radiostatic or VoxVal. You'll see what I mean.

I will keep updating this periodically as I read more fics, too, so feel free to check back every once and a while! I'll reblog it when I update it, plus make a note with the date at the top. Trust me, this is by no means a complete list; there's fics I still want to add to this that I just haven't gotten to yet. I just decided to go ahead and post it anyways, because if I kept waiting until I ran out of fics to rec I'd probably be working on this forever.

These are not in any particular order; I'm going by both my Bookmarks list on AO3 and my memory of fics I forgot to bookmark. I also tried to make notes on what fics were written before season 1 released, but I might have missed some, so keep that in mind.

Alastor Makes a Porno by Charnel_Goat, spappest

Summary: Alastor interrupts Val and Vox's personal time to get his rut over and done with, and they're just going to have to deal with that.

Basically, Alastor and Val try to have a threesome, but they keep arguing, everyone's injuring each other trying to figure out the logistics, and nobody cares what Vox has to say about any of this.

Notes: This has Staticmoth, Radiostatic, and Valastor. It's not strictly leaning more towards any pairing (tho Val does make a pretty sweet comment at the very beginning about Vox lol), which is why it's going on the Misc List. Porn with an edge of hilarity that - despite the tags - made it pretty funny. Three terrible people being terrible to each other. Vox suffers. Heed the tags.

Summary: For Valentines Day, Charlotte Morningstar— Lucifer’s brat— had announced the hotel would be hosting a sweetheart poll, allowing winners to vote for the biggest ‘sweethearts’ in Pentagram City! How adorable!

— Of course, when Angel gets involved, things get a little twisted, and hell treats it as a most-fuckable-celebs poll.

Vox isn’t the only one surprised by how high he scored, and how concerning the amount of votes he received was.

But there was no way in hell this “demand” was enough to make him give into Valentino and Velvet’s newest fixation: Making use of this fame and making Vox do some modelling!

Notes: Lilith/Lucifer/Vox. Chapter 1 written before season 1 release, with Chapter 2 being released after season 1 release. I read for the crackship, ended up liking the Lilith/Lucifer/Vox dynamic and world-building a LOT. Lol. Poor Vox. Or good for him? Still has yet to be seen.

The Shopping Cart Test by spappest

Summary: Angel never expected Prince Charming to have a TV for a head, but when Vox kills Valentino and saves him from his abuse, well… Maybe Hell doesn’t have to be all that bad. With Val out of the way, everyone can have a happy ending. Angel’s safe, Charlie’s happy, and even Alastor finds love.

Oh, wait. This is Hell. It’s always that bad.

Notes: Angel/Vox. Started before season 1 release. First Staticdust fic I read. :)

Hold Me Up by Sameko

Summary: Vox has been in and out of a relationship with Valentino for years. Always breaking up. Always coming back.

Then one night comes the definitive crack at the expense of one of Valentino's employees, to which Vox never paid much attention other than for shits and giggles.

One night, one word too many, might be enough to shift the perspectives of two people once strangers to each other.

Notes: Staticdust. Pretty bleak and dark at times, but so, SO good. Two broken people trying not to cut each other with their edges while also trying to help each other.

Cruel Melody by Hiding_Behind_a_Pencil_and_Pen

Summary: A man hopelessly in love with a monster, despite how much it hurts.

A person chained to a beast he can never escape, no matter how hard he tries.

Vox and Angel Dust have given their body and heart to Valentino, and neither know how to free themselves from his lies.

But maybe, even if it never gets better, they won't have to suffer alone.

Or,

What if Husk was just a little too late to get to the bar in episode four? And a certain media Overlord helped Angel instead. They find out that they're not so different after all.

Notes: As of now, I think this is Queerplatonic Staticdust.

Revelations in Technicolor by Awesome_Possum

Summary: Velvette had been dead for six years, part of The Vees for four, and fucking Vox for a little over two. They had a good thing going.

On one of their bi-weekly Vox-mandated movie nights, Valentino put a plan into motion and Velvette learned something new and surprising about her business partner and part-time sugar daddy that made a shocking amount of sense.

It ultimately ended up bringing The Vees closer and if Valentino claimed that was his intention all along, no one had any reason to believe him.

Notes: The Vees are a V and Vox is the hinge, so he's in a relationship with both Valentino and Velvette. Interesting headcanons for Vox's human life. :) (What is the ship name for Velvette/Vox again?)

System Shutdown by Swoolie

Summary: Taking a leaf from Alastor's book, Vox goes on a small break from everything.

He doesn't stick around long enough to see the chaos that ensues after his sudden disappearance.

Notes: This is tagged with both Radiostatic and Staticmoth. It's too early in the story to tell definitively which direction it's going to end up, so for now it's going to be on the Misc list. I'll probably move it when it becomes more clear what the main pairing will be.

Dapple Rose by The_Penny_Tails

Summary: Everyone always assumes the same thing about Alastor and Vox's relationship: That it's one-sided, that it's based on fixation, and that the reason for their falling out was due to the obsession turning into something that couldn't be controlled.

All of those assumptions are correct. The only problem is, everyone gets the 'who is obsessing over whom' part of the equation wrong.

When Vox and Valentino end up stuck at the hotel, suddenly the entire relationship between the radio and television is put on display, casting it and Alastor in an entirely different light.

Notes: Tagged with both Radiostatic and Staticmoth. Due to both this and the entire story itself (you'll see what I mean when you read it), it's going here on the Misc List. I freaking love this story, because so far I've not seen another fic where Alastor was obsessed with Vox while Vox was not obsessed with him in return. :3 Everything Penny_Tails writes is gold!

Summary: With the radio demon joining them for the night, Vox puts on a show the two overlords will never forget.

Summary: Alastor does not, strictly speaking, have a 'relationship' with the King of Hell. But they certainly have a something.

A something which does not include Vox. But Alastor is at least willing to indulge Lucifer in whatever this new idea is.

The new idea is Vox.

Notes: Contains Radiostatic, Radioapple, and Staticapple, but for this installment, Radiostatic is definitely the focus. Very intense, pretty sweet. 😳 Has 2 more parts in the series which are definitely worth the read, though they don't feature Vox as much.

Or: Lucifer and Vox have a shared problem that starts with Al and ends in stor and has a in the middle—thankfully, there's a solution! (The solution is sex. It's just sex.)

After a few years - I live. Just graduated and got back from my post-grad trip.

Feels and dump sesh below. Forgive my typos, I'm not used to typing with nails.

Anyway, I wanted to thank my readers that stuck through the bs (including the fact I haven't written in a couple of years and I privated literally everything recently). I started writing in a period where I didn't know where my life was going. Writing was a way to remove myself from my life and my problems. I had no hopes of returning to any form of formal education and had no plan beyond working to survive.

Through this whole mess I've had @dudeandduchess loyally by my side and a handful of others (I'm so sorry, I'm an asshole and didn't remember everyone's Tumblr names since we use discord) that have listened to me bitch into the void. I've had a few irl friends stick by me (one of which knows about this blog, but I won't tag them for their sanity). Life has changed a lot and I'm glad for it.

So like... I'm sure there's been some questions. So uhh here's the FAQ from what I've had in my ask box over the years. Feel free to ask if there's anything else you want to know.

Why did I go back to college as an adult past the age others graduate? I dated a chemical engineer that made good money and was a complete idiot. If you want the whole story, just ask. But anyway, I figured if he could do it, so could I. Dated in fall of 2020, returned to college in 2021.

Will we see any writing come back? Right now I'm debating on going back through the old posts and fixing them. Maybe the true writing posts, but probably not the countless head cannon posts. Those were... So bad. For now there are 3 posted on AO3 for those who are logged in.

Will there be more writing? I'm planning on it. Honestly it's probably going to still be Giyuu centric. I'm a loyal bitch, if nothing, and I had this fic idea in my head for literal years but no time to write it until now. I'm no longer going to write head cannons in any official way.

Do you know the fandom is basically dead? Yeaaahhh... Such is life. It's only holding on because modern anime take years to finish. My irl friend joked that my graduation present was the Giyuu vs Akaza scene (iykyk) getting animated.

Any cool life events? I almost died of organ failure in 2023 and my house flooded in 2024. I just graduated and went on a trip out of the country (outside the US), which are my biggest highlights.

Any tips for someone looking to go to college? Honestly... In this economy, you have to go for what makes good money that doesn't make you miserable. Do not wrack up student debt to get a degree that doesn't pay for itself, and don't go if you're not sure what you want to do yet. If you're in the US and you don't have the means to go, wait until you're 26 as your parents income will stop affecting your FASFA then. Go to community colleges and places you have in state tuition to minimize cost. Double check all accreditation for the college/university to make sure they're in good standing (like ABET for STEM degrees).

Is the love of Giyuu still strong? Absolutely. I have a plush of him given to me by a classmate in the back of my car. He's slowly getting sun bleached, but I rep for my bottom bitch.

Fic Writers Year-End Wrap-Up

@suzy-queued tagged me on this a few days ago, but I was waiting to do it because I literally posted the ending chapter of a fic on the last day of the year.

1. How many words have you written this year? Hard to say because I posted things I had already been working on, plus I've written things I haven't posted yet, but roughly about 23k.

2. How many works did you publish this year? 62, though some were only chapters of on-going WIPs, and others are still unfinished.

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? I'm proud of multiple of them, mostly because I managed to finish some WIPs, wrote a lot of drabbles, and overall wrote more than I thought I would.

4. What work of yours has the most hits? words written down (they are falling now), but I'm not sure if those were all from this year. Second place was Surprise?, also a Young Royals fic.

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? Probably Surprise?, which was mostly a crack fic. Oh, and Fly Guy! This one was definitely a crack fic written in ten 100-word chapters, but people seemed to enjoy it!

6. Favorite title you used. It's a toss between my Gallavich Masquerade fic, which I of course can't reveal yet, and Pride, Prejudice & Video Games, (one of) my current YR WIP.

7. If you use song lyrics, which artist's songs did you pull from the most? Usually I just use songs for the titles, if anything, but occasionally I use lyrics in the fic. I don't think there were any repeats though, I only did it about 4 or 5 times.

8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year? Wilmon, for sure, 17 times. Gallavich and Madirosh came second, with only 2 fics each.

9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? You know what? Madirosh, actually. I need to write more of them.

10. What work was the quickest to write? All of the drabbles, especially the ones for the YR drabble challenge. I wrote several on the spot.

11. What work took you the longest to write? Come Jingle My Bells. I finally finished it after three years!

12. How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? 13, including 4 that I've already started posting and that are priority. The others are in various stages of writing.

13. What's your longest work of the year? words written down (they are falling now) (18,873 in total, but most of it had been posted before). Come jingle my bells is the longest one-shot (7,232).

14. What's your shortest work of the year? I literally wrote 48 drabbles lol

15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you? The four that I had already started posting and that are priority are two YR ones, Pride, Prejudice & Video Games and I think I dreamed you into life, one DRUK2 one that I've been writing for years and I hope to finish it because I actually enjoy writing it (it's very chaotic!), That's what you get (when you let your heart win), and one Galalvich fic I pretty much abandoned because I don't know how to continue it, even though I had planned it, but that I really hope to be able to conclude, even if not very well, this year, The One that Got Away

16. What's your most common "Additional Tags" tag? "Drabble", lol. Second place is "fluff".

18. The character who gave you the most trouble writing this year? I struggled with some drabbles because I decided to write for fandoms I had never written for before. I think Charlie, from Heartstopper, is the one I agonized the most about, because I don't think I got his "voice" quite right, even if it was just a drabble.

19. What's one pairing you want to explore next year? Madirosh! They're not in my WIPs, but I'll make some room for them.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most? I never re-read my stuff except to continue it, so probably Come jingle my bells.

21. How many kudos in total did you get this year? AO3 says 1,849, but I don't know if this counts the ones on the fics I started posting before and finished this year.

23. Did you do any collaborative works this year? Sadly, no. It's one of the few things in fanfiction I've never done, actually! If anyone wants to collab in a Madirosh fic, let me know. Actually, Wilmon will also do, because I have a couple of AUs I have mostly just the vibes for, so I'd be totally ok with sharing it!

24. Did you write any gifts this year? Yes, "Come jingle my bells", "I think I dreamed you..." and "words written down" were both late gifts. My Heartstopper drabble was also a bit of a gift to a friend who gave me the idea for it.

25. Did you receive any gifts this year? Yes, a couple of drabbles during the YR drabble challenge.

26. What's your most common category/trope? Fluff? Also, soulmates AU, somehow. And meet-cute, apparently.

27. What do you listen to while writing? Absolutely nothing, I can't. I do sometimes listen to songs that inspire me, then I stoppe listening to them and start writing, not at teh same time.

28. Favorite work you wrote this year? Probably Surprise?, it was fun! I also really liked my Masquerade story, hihi.

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? Bold of you to assume I remember what I wrote lol. I'll go with the Ellie/A'Whora talk in "Come jingle" because I thought it was really sweet.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year? That I managed to write this much! And that writing drabbles, as I already suspected, is a lot easier. Oh, and that I can totally write on my phone if it's in short bursts, and it's actually easier because my brain computes it as "not serious", so I can get a few hundred words out that way and use the laptop for longer spurts, for editing and posting.

If we're just counting the ones that already have a chapter up on AO3, four. If we're counting the ones that haven't been posted yet, I'm not entirely sure by at least 10 lol

4. What was your favourite thing you wrote?

This is tough! I loved VSGTSAS for obvious reasons, but castles crumbling/TFTAB is my baby. I really don't think I can choose!

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

Oh, definitely cold woman and in the eye of the beholder. They were my first forays into third person pov, and the first fics I wrote that weren't from Xaden or Violet's pov (not including Swan Song in that count bc those characters were all OCs). I really enjoyed writing both, but man was it hard to go back and forth between writing my first person fics and the third person ones.

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

Definitely Violet Sorrengail's Guide to Spinning a Scandal. That was my first time participating in any kind of fic exchange, and I thought the idea was great but wasn't sure that many others would think the same. castles crumbling didn't have as many people reading it at the time and I had maybe like 25 followers here on Tumblr, so I was fully expecting no one to really read VSGTSAS. I was thrilled when people read it as much as they did when I was publishing it, but it was definitely really surprising for me at the time!

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

cold woman! I absolutely adored this fic, because I think Lilith is such an interesting, multi-faceted character. I cried SO HARD when she died, and being able to write out what I thought her final thoughts were was really interesting.

8. Who is an artist that inspired you?

All of them! That might be overly generic. I literally like and save just about every piece of art I come across, but I tend to follow writers more than artists if that makes sense, so I probably couldn't name a specific one.

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

Going to copy @skyfallscotland and say @justallihere. Reading SITQ inspired me to start writing Swan Song, which was where I got my start writing fanfic!

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

Does myself count? Jk -- @widebrimmedhatsblog and @suebswrites! The number of times I've read their work is astounding; they're absolutely phenomenal!

11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?

Nope!

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

Pulling myself out there, first and foremost! I was SO scared to post the first chapter of Swan Song back in February -- I was convinced that people would hate it. And while it really didn't have many readers before I put it on hiatus, writing it helped me figure out what I wanted out of writing fan fiction and how I wanted to write it. I'm equally proud of myself for not giving into the pressure to push myself to update more or write my stories a specific way because that was what people wanted from me. As a chronic people-pleaser, that was a big milestone for me.

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

I learned that sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone! If I hadn't done that and let my nerves stop me from publishing that first fic, I never would have gained the wonderful community I have through the FW fandom.

14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?

Writing fanfic is what you make of it! Comment on the fics you read, shamelessly promote yourself, and write what you want to write -- not what others want you to write (unless you also want to write it!)

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

Finish cc, finish the Did Someone Say Shots? series and danger zone and XRGTSAS, and then getting around to writing my super secret wip fic!

Hmmm this is tough bc I don't write a lot of angsty endings, and most of my fics are canon compliant anyway so the angst is relative? With this in mind, it's probably 'there's no good tricks but old ones'--it's one of my only fics where there isn't some kind of emotional breakthrough or connection reached (or even the start of one) and it's pre-Paranormal Liberation War arc so we all know Hawks is headed for A Really Bad Time 😬

All of them,, but I did write about Shinsou finding out he'd been accepted into the hero course in 'every battle, every day' which might take the cake (Brian from TAZ voice I'm so proud of them etc)

Do crossovers have to include characters from another media? Bc I've written aus set in other universes, but none of the characters from them appear 🤔

Thankfully no! I did once receive a comment that was just like. A Statement with no tonal indicators, In All Caps, but I'm 99% sure it was meant to be taken positively. okay 98% sure.

Never say never but rip time travel fic lol.

IF I SAY SOMETHING YOU DISAGREE WITH LOOK AWAY. But. I think I write good dialogue, especially banter, and that I am occasionally funny. I also think I'm pretty good at describing places, but only if I have a clear mental image of them, so I feel like you can always tell when I'm not sure what a room looks like (which is most of the time).

Second-guessing and self-doubting myself into genuine writing paralysis. Also internal monologue/narration, like a character thinking about and articulating their feelings :')

I'm a little confused about this question?? But I also only speak one language fluently so I can't do this anyway 😭

When my sister and I were kids we used to pick our favorite characters from a bunch of different movies/books/shows and tell stories about them all going on some kind of gigantic crossover adventure, so it was probably something along the lines of 'Scooby-Doo, Batman, and Jedidiah from Night at the Museum vs Firelord Ozai'

I might be going on hiatus from posting content for a bit (not counting reblogging). I'm not sure yet. (Plus My Personal Fandom Frustrations)

Like the title says. I might be cleaning up some of my vent posts since I've come back to Tumblr, too. I haven't decided yet. I need to get a lot done in the next eight days that I'm gonna have off after tomorrow's day of work related to studying for the NCLEX. I've been ruminating a lot lately on feeling inadequate in fandom, and every time I post (especially artwork), I feel an odd sense of anxiety and disgust, like it's just not good enough, literally nobody cares about it, etc. The truth is, I know there are people who care, and I deeply appreciate all of you who do 🫂❤️. If only I could make myself stop falling into these bad headspaces.

It depresses me to see the direction fandom culture in general has gone. The focus on consumption and not community is a huge element. I know Canon x Canon ships have always been the most popular in any fandom, and OC x Canon has either been despised or made into a subtle competition amongst each other (who's OC and ship is the least "Mary Sue-ish," who's OC and ship is the most sexy, who's OC and ship is the most logical, etc., when really, the focus should be the equal uniqueness of each OC x Canon ship), and Self Insert x Canon is always the most despised/hated/ignored, but all of these pre-existing issues in fandom culture on top of this newly accepted consumption vs community problem has made me very sad and made it difficult for me to truly be proud of my work at times.

I think it doesn't help that, as much as I am proud of how niche, "real," and self-indulgent my works are, how much I really try to capture a very human experience in my works to help others who understand my feelings feel less alone (just as many works from others have helped me in that sense), I feel that because my works don't focus on "what's popular," they're wastes of time and no one cares, and that they must suck. They're not helping anyone and bringing anyone happiness like so many other pieces of content.

Since The Purge/Polite Leader doesn't really have a fandom and never really has (sadly), from the AP community perspective, I feel inadequate compared to so many talented people here. Of course, I'm so happy to find a community I wanted when I first got into Patrick in the fall of '21. But I just can't give back to so many of you in the "right" way. I can't provide you PaulPat (the most popular Canon x Canon ship here) because I don't like it. I can't provide X Reader fics because I'm terrible at writing them, as much as I love reading them myself. I can't even provide an interesting OC people recognize and enjoy. I can't even write stuff about abusing Patrick (yes, he's an asshole, he deserves it, but I don't personally like it like I thought I did when I first got into him and "hated" him). Basically, what I'm getting at is: I can't provide content this community enjoys and makes everyone happy based on numbers and reception, and I'm so sorry. I wish I could properly express my appreciation for being here, but instead, I'm left feeling like, "almost everyone enjoys this thing, and almost no one enjoys your thing, it clearly sucks and you're like a little parasite here in this community clogging AO3 and the tags here with your self insert crap."

So Idk, maybe I'll change my mind tomorrow and post something when I get home from work. Who knows for now. I just wanted to vent out on some of the reasons I've been depressed and frustrated with myself and the way fandom culture is (not that I can control the latter, it's a global collective problem plauging a hobby). I just wish I could express my appreciation for this community so much more, and I wish I had that ability to post things I know this community enjoys and likes rather than share the pathetic crap I know no one likes.

To my closest friends on here who always support me: you're the real ones. You know who you are, and I never ever want you to feel that I don't appreciate you and your endless support. I love you so deeply, and you're the reason I haven't given up from posting online altogether ❤️ 💖 In fact, you're the reason I even came back, and I'm so happy that I've met you every day. I hope we remain close for years to come 🫂♥️

Favorite Movie: My most favorite movie is such a guilty pleasure but when i tell you that the 2011 Adventures of Tintin is literally PEAK. PEAK. PEAK. I don't want to hear anything otherwise. Go watch it. I'll wait. It's so good.

Favorite TV Show: Everyone irl knows that I HATE watching tv shows because I have zero patience to watch multiple hour long episodes for a show that most likely doesn't even know where they are going with it… THAT'S JUST ME THOUGH.. I watched Queen's Gambit recently and it was nice :) I like short shows.

Favorite Musical Artists: I LOVE Jeff Buckley, Lana Del Rey, and PUMA BLUE. If you haven't heard puma blue yet, GO LISTEN TO HIM. I saw him live last year and no other concert has topped it since. I've recently gotten into the doors and the animals :)) (if you like either of those bands please follow me i want to meet more fans)

Favorite Book: i don't know why i can't think of a favorite book right now, because i usually only read for uni and most of the time the books are kinda mid… a did read Nella Larsen’s Passing recently and i liked it :), currently reading Buster Keaton’s autobiography My Wonderful World of Slapstick, and a fanfiction i finished recently is That’s My Weakness Now (on AO3) I highly recommend ;)

Do you have any Funko Pops?: I used to have bts funko pops but i gave them away a few years ago 

Do you play any instruments?: I used to be pretty good at piano when I was in middle school but I completely lost it. Kinda wish i kept playing because now i have no clue how i did any of that.

Do you have any pets?: I have two cats, three dogs, and some chickens :) 

Do you read or write Fanfiction?: Reading fanfiction has been my hobby since I was 12 and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Sometimes I'll read fanfiction that's so good that when someone asks for book recommendations I almost forget that they aren't ACTUAL novels that i can recommend. I was a moderately successful bts fanfiction writer in middle school but i'm so embarrassed by it i can't even look at it or speak of its name BUT sometimes i get ideas for fanfictions for fandoms im in but i'm too judgmental of myself that i refuse to publish let alone finish writing anything.

How many words have you written this year?

I'm counting this as how many words in something that I posted, which is 14,819. A lot more than I expected, honestly, but most of it came from me doing several chapters of "15 Minutes" early in the year. 😉

9 chapters in all, but only 4 individual works.

What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

"Sentence Starters Short Fic Collection" (Soap and Ghost, Call of Duty, Kaidan x Shepard, Mass Effect and Kai and Vannak, Halo the series) Yeah, they're all suuuuuper short but I'm always proud of myself whenever I write anything at all for fandoms/characters I've never attempted before. 😎👍

Definitely "15 Minutes" (John x female Reader, Halo the series). I'll never have anything else that will get this sort of response and I'm going to miss it when it's over. But I AM finishing it. Someway. Some how.

I've debated removing this one but finally thought, eh, so it's dumb, that doesn't mean that one day, somebody might get a laugh from my puns. If not, then welp, I'm woman enough to have a total dud in my collection.🤷‍♀️😂

Didn't use song lyrics this year but I have in the past. I honestly just use whatever artist or song fits the story or theme. I have a really eclectic bunch of artists that I like, so you never know what'll pop up.

John x female Reader, since "15 Minutes" had so many chapters and "It's All Coming Along" is technically a John x Reader as well. "Recreation" is Kai x male Reader and the Sentence Starters I've already mentioned above. 😉

Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

It's actually the female OC/Frank West from my Dead Rising AU titled "Turn Back." They're the only ones I can consistently sit down and just bang out blocks of hundreds of words. I dunno why. 🤷‍♀️

What work was the quickest to write?

"It's All Coming Along" took literally two hours from "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if...?" to me hitting post. Don't do that, kids. Have a nap first if you haven't slept in, like 40 hours. Don't commit fiction, lol. 😆😴

"15 Minutes" which was started 2 years ago along with "Recreation" probably deserves that "honor" for more than one reason, lol.

"Look, it's not my fault that that penguin documentary was kinda lame and—"

"IT WAS NOT!" Vannak bellowed back and took a swing at her that would've definitely put a marine in the infirmary for a month, if not in the ground, permanently. For Kai, it would've at the very least mussed her hair. "Those penguins are adorable and—"

"Lame. Laaaaaame," she singsonged, ducking a flurry of punches, then doing a very impressive parkour run up the wall into a backflip that sent her soaring over the enraged Spartan's head.

"THEY'RE NOT LAME, YOU TAKE THAT BACK!"

Biggest surprise while writing this year?

That I haven't totally given up. It's been verrrrrry close, friends. But every time I've thought, "Eh, why keep trying?" a comment will pop up, thanking me for writing something that gave them a laugh or the like and that'll give me the strength to keep in the fight. If there's even one person left who wants to read how these end or who'll check out the ones I haven't started posting yet, then I want to finish them.
