“Sorry, sunshine, we aren’t going anywhere,” Ginny says comfortably. Harry shoots her a betrayed look.

“You just got here!” Julian pouts, and he sighs. He can’t say no to his brother.

Thankfully, his parents seem to have tired of teasing him. Amaryllis almost vibrates with excitement and satisfaction, but seems to be contented with merely looking between him and Ginny without saying anything.

Julian’s the one who’s a problem, surprisingly. “Lissy and I told you you liked her!”

“What’s this?” Ginny asks in mock innocence. “Your younger siblings caught on before you? I’m so surprised.”

it is always a joyous occasion when you receive feedback on hard work. i will make sure to be very detailed in my response as i am sure there is a lot to uncover in 40k words ~

it is no problem at all. use whatever you feel comfortable with! i simply may inquire about a few things if i become confused at any point in our conversations.

i have no issue with using lissie instead! and i apologize that you now have a name in which you do not like it’s annotations and energy. i would go through the lengths of calling you honeydew if it made you feel better ~

and you never have to apologize for how you feel. the conversation can go in any direction you prefer. i can be here as an outlet or merely for conversational purposes. i will adjust to whatever you feel like talking about. i will be here either way. i am doing good and i hope you are doing so as well ~

yeah, still kind of feel icky about it so it's better to use what is available. nabasjb honeydew? okay, that is so sweet! (pun intended)

and about the last paragraph, tbh i'm not good at making light-hearted convos. like, every weight of the discussion i have is usually very heavy and maybe it is good because i understand "adult talk" more. i’m gonna have to thank my parents so much about that because they taught me that i was not a child in their eyes, but a little human that can ask for guidance about the world i'm facing.

maybe that also translates to my writing as well and how i crave substance in my stories.

like, currently i'm in the last stretch of my enhypen sunoo fic that was supposed to be for a collab before it got cancelled. the collab topic is about fandom and me, as the geeky kid i am, choose the five night's at freddy's out of all the other writers that choose harry potter or percy jackson. i thought that it'll probably be slightly above 10k (because i famously said here that i just can't seem to make fics under 10k anymore) but, from my own calculations, it might reach 20k. and this fic doesn't have romance or drama as its central premise, it is pure survival, horror, and a tiny bit of comedy :D

Writers’ Iron Chef #6: The Goodbye

Midnight, on the bridge. Come alone.

Mona sighed as she put the parchment paper back in he back pocket and looked up at the bridge a mile from her home, the same bridge she walked over to go to the Burrow every summer. She spotted him as soon as she stepped onto the old wooden bridge, Charlie Weasley was hard to miss.

“What do you want Charlie?” she snapped, Charlie sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “I have to get up early to get ready for the wedding.”

A frown appeared on his face as he looked over to Mona’s home where the ceremony would be held the following day.

“Oh right, I forgot.” he deadpanned; she sighed and leaned against the railing looking out towards the Burrow. “I can’t stay long. I just had to see you.”

It was Mona’s turn to frown turning to face away from him.

“You know once upon a time this could have been us.” She whispered. “I thought it was going to be us.”

Charlie wanted to pull her to him and kiss her unlike she had every been kissed before but he knew he couldn’t. Yes they had dated almost all through their years at Hogwarts but after graduating when he flew off to Romania and she had entered training to become a Auror they quickly fell apart. Then the war happened and he had lost Fred; They had officially broken up. By the time he had figured out that she was it for him she was already dating Barnaby. He hadn’t had anything against Barnaby; he had helped Mona and the others when things had gotten sticky in school but he never thought he would have lost Mona to him.

“I know Mona;” he whispered. He ran his hand through his hair again and shook his head. “I love you. And I hate that it’s going to be Barnaby at the end of that Aisle instead of me, and I will regret that for the rest of my life. But as long as you are happy Mona I am happy for you.”

“I am happy.” she said; he smiled and pulled her into a hug. Tears began streaming down her face. “I wish we could have had that wedding your mother was no doubt planning our 5th year. But I’m happy with Barnaby. I hope you find someone, I really do.”

He frowned before breaking the hug and holding her at arms length.

“You’re going to look so beautiful; it’s a shame I wont be able to see you in the wedding dress.” he said; she looked a him.

“You have to go back to Romania.” she whispered. He nodded.

“I can’t watch you marry someone who isn’t me.” he said before turning to walk back to the Burrow. Mona reached out to touch him but stopped; letting him walk away.

She walked towards her home; whipping the tears away as she thought about what could have been.

“Mona?” Barnaby asked from the front porch; A smile appeared as she saw him. She rushed up onto the porch and hugged him. He smiled and returned the hug before leading her back inside to get some tea.

They knew what it was like to be alone, and they knew what it was like to finally have someone there for them to encourage them, love them. Why the fuck didn’t they pass that down to their kids? Felicity’s best friend, Elizabeth, was waiting for her at the pasture behind the Wythes’ stable. They often met there before lessons to visit the mare and her new colt. When she saw Felicity, Elizabeth smiled. “Oh, good. Here you are, Lissie,” she said. “Do whistle and make the horses come to us.” Felicity whistled. The mare trotted toward her, and the colt followed behind like a little, shy shadow. Elizabeth and Felicity pulled up handful after handful of sweet spring grass and fed it to the horses.

Elizabeth is wearing her new summer dress that I made for her this week. I used Flossie Potter’s Betsy Ross Shop Dress pattern with some modification of the sleeves. Instead of buttons down the placket of the bodice, I applied lace and wove some white embroidery thread in a lace-up pattern. I made her straw hat, too, to match Felicity’s. It’s a placemat that I took apart, painted, and sewed on some pretty Rococo-patterned twill tape. Underneath she’s wearing Pemberley Thread’s Antoinette Stays.

Chapter 5: exaggerations abound in which Ginny deals with normal schoolgirl stuff - gossip and being stuck in the hospital wing post a match where your brother's best friend (NOT your crush, not your. . . oh dammit) gets you flowers.

For reference: Azaleas convey happiness, temperance and positive energy and are often romantically aligned, Jonquils mean healing, rebirth, hope and 'I deserve a return of affection' and Carnations indicate admiration and 'my heart aches for you'.

Yes, Hermione is having a lot of fun.

Ginny and Mr. Potter exchange an amused glance. Amaryllis can be a little overwhelming, but there’s no doubt she basically worships Ginny and that her entire worldview is influenced by that.

“Glad I lived up to your standards,” she responds playfully.

“You always do!” Amaryllis insists earnestly. She’s a sweet child. Harry’s lucky to have a sister like her. “Unlike my brother. Are you two--?”

“For the last time, Lissy,” Ginny says. “No, I’m not dating your brother.” She winces – her try to contain the wounded exasperation in her voice has failed utterly. She chances a glance at Mr. Potter to see him considering her with a raised eyebrow, turning back to his daughter when he notices her looking.

Blackhill Bingo 2021 Fill: B1 The prompt for this fill was part of a panel from Secret Avengers #1 (Kot/Walsh, 2014-2015). That series happens to have one of my favorite bits of backstory for Maria, which got me thinking about exactly how much the comics influence the way I write Maria, Natasha, and their relationship. It's hard to put a lot of the way I feel about them into words, so I thought I'd try using music instead. Consider these three playlists to be me handing you my headphones and going !!!!! while you listen.
