ahem.

actually, I'm more or less neutral about her, no strong feelings for sure. however, when I first played the game I had some thoughts regarding the fact how she made steph's desire to stay in haven entirely about herself.

but hey, no.

i really don't think that anymore. she had her reasons, i just had time to think about for more than a minute.

and well, I don't think that game really wants us to think about izzie that much, which is understandable, however, i was really intrigued by Steph's Story to see izzie more in-depth and look at their relationship with steph to see the dynamic they had previously. and thanks to Steph's Story, because now I perceive their break up scene entirely different.

but, to be honest, i'm mostly neutral about her only because now I know more why she acted the certain way from time to time. the book definitely gave the readers a good perspective on her character, given what they had to work with. however, there were many times where she said something and i was just "why are you like this". but it's entirely because i'm steph's stan and the story is told from her perspective. plus personally it was easier for me to relate to steph than to izzie, so i had myself sympathizing with her more.

back to the point.

izzie is really complex, which i obviously like, and i like how the book helps to understand that izzie WANTED to understand steph, WANTED to help, WANTED to be with her, but steph never really give her a chance to do any of that. and book definitely made their break up scene even worse with how both of them had this moment at the concert, thinking that they still had a chance for a moment before everything went crushing down.

so yeah. i'm not really a fan of izzie's, but she's a really interesting adjustment to steph's lore and a unique character overall. bless all her fans with how little content they have to entertain themselves with.

silly jokes aside, I don't have any super big feelings about the Double Exposure trailer and I think a lot of people are getting upsetti spaghetti over it because they're jumping to conclusions.

I'm not upset they're canonically continuing in the Sacrifice Chloe timeline, because there's the comics and TC Wavelengths content and tons of other Save Chloe timeline shit to be perused, I think it's an interesting choice to take the decision away from the players and I hope it pays off well.

I think it's fine that Max looks different, she can't perpetually be 18, skinny, and depressed. It's a different animation style so she'd never look a perfect 1 to 1 anyways. It's not really the end of the world that she gained some weight and got rid of her bangs tbh, if that ruins her whole character for you... idek what to say

I think the dumbest complaint is "oh well the plot is the same" which?? we haven't?? seen anything????? about the plot?????? Saying that them telling us Safi gets shot is "spoiling the whole plot" is like saying that Chloe getting shot & the storm being in the LiS game trailer spoiled the whole plot lmao

and then I saw somebody complain about the trailer showing us what Max's powers will be like, which, again,,, ALSO happened in the LiS game trailer an entire decade ago. I just don't get it. This fandom is so miserable about fucking everything, it's unbearable.

hi hello! glad to see lis tc stans in the wild in 2024.

i have two questions. or three.

1. have you read some side content for lis? like comics and novels? particularly, steph's novel.

i'm asking because personally I feel like steph in BTS and steph in TC are slightly different from each other, which may not be weird, because BTS is set in 2010 and TC is in 2019 and there was 2013 trauma and some rocky relationship with izzie, so it's kinda natural for steph to become slightly different person between 16 and 25.

but I always catch myself that steph isn't really similar to herself in BTS despite both her games being made by Square Enix, so there wouldn't be as much confusion as probably will be between LIS and LIS DE.

2. so yeah I'm asking if you feel the same? and if you read steph's novel, did it make it better for you to see the shift in her character between her younger and older self? because for me it kinda became even more difficult.

but yeah sorry if I'm nagging you too much with these boring questions. here's the funnier one.

To answer your question, I haven't read anything else but I've read Steph's Story! I somewhat agree with your opinion. I think Steph is different but she is still *Steph* in a way. What I mean by this is that, not to sound corny, but over the course of life we all have character development and we all change, and I think Square Enix was tryna convey this change thro her in a way?? Her life was rough when you really think about it. She either lost Chloe (which in the DLC for TC, Wavelengths, her relationship with Chloe appears quite close, even if a lot of it is behind the scenes and not in BTS) or lost her entire home town, family and most of her friends bar Mikey (and nearly lost him too due to her habit of running away when things get tough), which is traumatic af, so you can see why she would change sm. It could also be a change from her teens years into her mid adults years, which is like nearly a whole decade so a lot can change and happen over that length of time. As well as that, the events during Steph's Story couldve also had the chance to drastically change her perspective and make her grow into a person a distance away from her teenage self. I think your opinion is honestly fair enough and I could see alot of people thinking the same thing, and it's good to see other sides of things :)

Question: I haven't read anything bar Steph's story which I need to once I get paid next lol, so what would you recommend I should read next?

As for Steph headcanons! I have a few 🤭🤭🤭

- (chenrich headcanons) Steph absolutely loves Alex's glasses and would steal them off her and try wear them and would find it so adorable that Alex wears glasses

- i feel she would burn CDs for people she loves (platonically or romantically) and especially if they're a music lover. She would take a mental note of any music her loved ones listened to regularly/liked and burn them into a CD for Christmas or birthdays or a random gift

- she would show up unannounced and uninvited to her loved ones houses, even if it gets her told off the majority of the time

I could absolutely yap on all day about her but this is surface level bc I don't wanna bore you all. Let me know if I should elaborate or not 👀👀

Just some stray thoughts...

So. I've been thinking about Life is Strange and about True Colors, and the fact that LiS was four hours longer (on average) than TC. That got me thinking. One of the problems with TC is that... it is a bit shallower than LiS. Admittedly, at least an hour was added by having Max jump into the William Lives timeline, and several more hours were added in with her jumps to the Everyday Hero timeline and the like... but those jumps were not just added... but were an important part of the plot itself.

What could Deck Nine have done to fill out LiS:TC more? I mean, I honestly don't count Wavelengths in this. Wavelengths was DLC that didn't add anything to the plot. It was extraneous, tossed in there as a means of encouraging people to spend more money on their game. Sadly, it also works, as Farewell and Wavelengths ended up encouraging folks to spend extra money for the game and Deck Nine is repeating that with a built-in cat DLC for Double Exposure.

But what if Deck Nine had not gone the route of greed? What could have been added to True Colors? (Or for that matter, to Before the Storm - BtS definitely could have used more content with Rachel and perhaps not having her get fucking stabbed by Damon so she was barely in the third Chapter.)

One thing I've heard complaints about was that the love interests for Alex were... lackluster. Half of the character development for Steph was already done with Before the Storm. But for someone who just knows Steph from TC they have a miss-it-and-lose-it button that shows Steph was in a relationship with a transwoman and the fact that she was Alex's biggest fangirl to the point she doesn't hesitate to believe Alex when Alex shows up all bloodied and also keeps trying to get Alex to get medical care while everyone else just blithely sits around staring at the bloodied battered girl.

Well, why not have more moments with the characters? Why not have them go on a date or the like? You could have Ryan being Steph's cheerleader in Alex going on a date with Steph, or Steph helping Alex prepare for a date with Ryan. You could have little moments of cuteness... and more, you could even have different dates for the characters based on who they went with... or even a "just staying friends" hanging out moment, maybe Steph running a D&D game for Alex and Ryan and Mikey playing online. And for that matter, if we'd had even 30 more minutes with Gabe... it could have made the trauma of losing him even worse. But instead things were rushed and... we barely get to know Gabe through a couple fun moments and then that's it.

Just some food for thought. A missing thing with TC was character development. We barely got to know any of the characters... well, why not expand on them?

Just some thoughts after the fact.

I forget the name of the dating app, but I actually got two dates, lol I can't pull that off IRL

TBF ppl say it's a numbers game and I only swiped left on like two people so... (and IRL I used to like never swipe any direction just let is sit there so I could never match, lol)

I did let Steph be emo the last two episodes so I didn't make anymore connections after that

My rolls were like really good for the psychic portion, were they actually randomized?

I liked how low stakes the game felt, actually

Heartfelt, I sort of feel bad about my decisions with Steph in the main game, but then not. I think, it's a toss up.

Steph was leaning towards trapped / stuck / healing but then also running away. So it's like, what's best, Idk. I think they're young and all is a possibility so, yeah.
