Chloe is the best love interest option in all of the games because the game is meant to be focused on her and Max’s connection. Chloe is pretty much the most important thing to the game in the first game while meanwhile Lis2, the love interests aren’t that compelling because in the end they play a pretty small role and the game is based off of family. It is based off of the connection between Daniel and Sean and is not meant to surround around some love interest. And im glad the love interests aren’t that interesting in Lis2 because it draws attention to what the game is meant to focus on. And kind of same with True Colors, Steph and Ryan are not bad love interests (especially Steph, I actually like her and Alex quite a lot) and they definitely play a lot more of a role in the story than Finn and Cassidy do in Lis2 but the goal of True Colors is more of a sense of community rather than just based off of one relationship. You’re supposed to connect with all the characters in the town, get to know them all, and the theme is less about the connection of 2 people and is all about this town full of people and all their connections. That’s why Chloe is the best love interest option because she is the pure focus and in the other games the focus is family or community rather than this relationship between Chloe and Max and how Max is trying everything she can to keep Chloe alive and happy. She is so compelling compared to the others because that is the point. She is meant to be compelling because the other love interests are mainly there just to be love interests while she’s the FOCUS.

Okay soo I need you to help me pick; I'm playing LiS True Colors and I want Ryan BUT Steph is also winning me over. HELP!!

Friend let me tell you that game has got a hold on me like none other!

Dating Ryan would include:

Riding with him as he does his job. Ryan loves to have you tag along and talk about anything and everything. He's a good listener, but he's also really going to need a listening ear after everything with Gabe happens. (Don't make this dirty; trust me I can take this places if requested ;3)

Ryan loves to snuggle. If you aren't a big touchy human, if you allow him, he would definitely be the type that he needs to be touching you somehow. (Ex. leg against yours when you're on the couch). It doesn't always have to be cuddles, but he likes your warmth and knowing you're there.

When Gabe was alive, Ryan and Gabe always tag teamed to play harmless pranks on you. You always write with a red pen at work? Nope today it's pink but they've tried to convince you that it's still red and maybe it's the lighting.

When Ryan can't sleep he would message you to see if you were awake. If you were he would invite you to meet him outside the restaurant and look up at the stars.

Ryan is a giant dork. If he thinks it will make you or the friends laugh he will try it. Especially when it come to the RP chapter. He absolutely loved everyone face as he was a silly little snake. Though he might be embarrassed at first of you seeing him, but if you played along like Alex did, he would be all smiles.

Overall best golden retriever boyfriend 10/10

Dating Steph would include:

Steph loves it when you come hang outside the booth while she's working. Not only could you help her run the shop, but when she needed song suggestions you're her number one "special listener".

If you didn't know how to RP, Steph would teach you everything you needed to know. She would love playing the games with you to see how you react and build characters. And if you really got into it like the chapter in the game? She would think it was the hottest thing ever.

Steph tells you everything. When she's not sure where she stands in life you're her rock. She can't believe how lucky she is that you've stood by her through everything.

Steph would totally try to get you to write songs with her. If making music wasn't your thing she would understand, but she would love to bounce ideas off you and get super flustered when showing off a new song she wrote just for you.

Steph would be so supportive of you through everything. She loves to be silly, but she can also be serious, especially after Gabe's accident. Overall Steph is the best "black cat girlfriend" that really isn't a black cat at all, but she would def. glare at you if you tried to call her a golden retriever girlfriend.

The way the Life Is Strange franchise portrays freedom is so, so, so, insane.

It's portrayed as the ultimate goal Chloe, Rachel, Karen, Sean, Steph, and possibly Alex strive for. Yet, it's also portrayed as a doomed ambition that you'll have to give up everything to reach.

Rachel loses her life in her search for freedom, and so does Chloe unless Max makes the ultimate payment of everything she and Chloe have ever held dear. Karen has to sacrifice her family to be free, and Steph has to sacrifice her bonds in Haven Springs. Alex has to sacrifice her dream of living a happy life in Haven with her brother to end up on the road, and Sean loses A: His life or B: His freedom or C: His brother or D: His safety in his pursuit of escaping into Mexico.

But despite what all is sacrificed, freedom is still portrayed as something beautiful. It's portrayed as Chloe and Max driving off into the sunset for more adventures. It's portrayed as Rachel and Chloe happily daydreaming about their future with no awareness of the horror yet to come. It's portrayed as Karen, Sean, and Daniel star-gazing and letting lanterns lose into the night sky. It's portrayed as Alex and Steph playing in a band in front of their adoring fans

But it's also portrayed as something destructive. It's the tornado that destroys a town so Chloe can leave. It's the wild fire that engulfs a town Rachel feels stuck in. It's the bullet wound that made Alex and/or Steph realize they didn't belong. It's the blood shed by a nine year old as Sean crosses over the border. It's the deep emotional scars Karen left behind when she up and left in the middle of the night.

Freedom is portrayed as this beautiful ultimate goal that ends up being a force of destruction in the lives of everyone who seeks it. It makes me think of this philosophical question: "Can you be truly free if you have something? And it makes me think of how the franchise answers "No. At least, you can't have everything." It's an interesting twist from how freedom is usually depicted in media, and the choice to make the downside of freedom destruction makes me brain go insane.
