So Lion Brand Yarn, one of the biggest names in acrylic yarn in the United States, just posted AI generated images with tags as disclaimers and credit the “artist”

To say I am disappointed is an understatement but that disappointment turned to anger quickly as the social media team responded to concerns with dismissive comments or emojis.

I left this thread where I basically respectfully told them that they should not post ai images and continue to show case fiber artists including those who make huge projects. They responded with since they tagged it as AI and feature fiber artists daily it’s ok. I responded back that most people don’t read captions on social media and it is disrespectful to many artists including those 16000 that had their art stolen by midjouney.

My comments and others voicing dissent were removed

girl what the hell im crocheting rn and i just came to the end of my working yarn but it is not the end of the ball of yarn why they fuck is it just cut in the middle ??? this entire ball has been so weird and completely messed up the flow of color changes but i am not about to go back and redo the whole thing section that i did with this ball why is it like that aaaaaaaaaaaaa

Fact: both of these dresses were made from the same gradient yarn, lion brand mandala "centaur".

The dress on the left made from two ~1,000-yd cakes that I didn't mess too much with. Long bands of color. You can find the pattern here.

The dress on the right was made from one ~1,000-yd cake that I split into two cakes (time consuming but fun) to get smaller stripes.

Yay, art.
