Imagine Being in a Polymorphous relationship with Lio and Song
~ Your a scientist in the burrow. You met Lio and Song in school but never really clicked with them. Emilia and you were close and they never got along with her. You kind of had a small crush on them but it went away as time went on and they got together. They were perfect for eachother and you doubt they wanted you...
~ Years later and your one of the top scientists in the burrow. You Song Lio and Emilia are at the top but Emilias in charge. Emilia thought they were hiding something and knowing you used to be decent friends put you on the Hugo project to spy. You think she's being paranoid but say nothing as you monitor Hugos success rate. So far no mutations or signs of intelligence that surpass normal expectations but you keep Emilia updated so she feels more secure about the project.
~ Slowly as you continue working with them you begin to fall in love with Song and Lio again. You know it's wrong and that their both married to each other and have happy lives together but you feel a pang in your heart knowing that you'll never be apart of that relationship. Lios just so kind and silly. He's very caring and you find yourself blushing when he offers to help carry something a little to heavy for you or asks to help you on your reports. And Song. Songs so strong but also gentle. The way she takes care of Hugo and is always so passionate about her work never fails to fluster you.
~ Soon you come to see Hugo as your baby. As the project continues you make jokes to yourself and Hugo about how Song Lio and you are rasing him and that makes you all a couple. He's a very sweet mandril and although he hasn't shown that he's mutated yet he's obviously a smart monkey.
~ Your feelings get more intense and one day you privately tell Hugo about it. You know he can't understand you and Song and Lio have the day off so it's just you and him. You sway him on your hip and tell him all about your feelings towards them. How strong Song is, how kind Lio is and how smart both of them are. He simply coos and you smile.
~ Later that week you notice Lio and Song being more affectionate around you. A hug that lasts a second longer than usual, Lio being very eager to help you and getting very close, Song complimenting your work. You're getting very flustered from all the attention and aren't sure how to respond.
~ Sometime that week they take you aside and admit that they have feelings for you. It's a dream come true and that night you have your first date in their house.
~ You all chat for hours about your favorite subjects as you have wine. You talk about poetry, the stars, your dreams and hopes for the future. You share your first kiss with them and your relationship slowly starts building.
~ It's been a couple months and it's an accident. You were never supposed to know that Hugo could talk but one day while your cleaning up the lab you sneeze and you hear a distinct bless you. Turning you only see Hugo. Your about to brush it off when you sneeze again and watch him say bless you. You pause. He pauses. Then he starts crying.
~ Once you calm Hugo down he explains how he's been able to talk and understand you for awhile. He told you how he told Song and Lio about the feelings you had for them. You're embarassed you blabbered on like that in front of him but he admits they've done the same thing. He asks you not to tell Song Lio or Emilia however. You want to ask him why but you pause. Emilia was... intense and Hugo was just a kid. An intelligent and very sweet kid.
"I won't tell if you don't."
He smiles and hugs your leg close. You two become closer after that.
~ You do however tell Song and Lio you know about Hugo. You don't want to start your relationship off by lying to them and you don't want Hugo to feel like he's caused a problem. You explain you won't tell Emilia. She may be your friend but they're your partners and they come first now.
~ A week later and you've moved in with them. Hugos abilities are kept a secret but your relationship isn't. Emilia isn't too happy but she accepts it's your choice and wishes you well.
~ Your relationship is sweet and caring as you all love each other and Hugo very much. It's full of late nights reading to eachother while cuddling, serenading each other, cooking together in the kitchen, brainstorming book ideas, writing reports, doing expeirments, and taking care of Hugo. It's a calm and gentle life but soon Emilia will catch on and things won't be as good as they are...

Salted Caramel (Woozi)
Title: Salted Caramel
Pairing: Reader x Woozi of Seventeen
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 1148
Writer: Whattodowithkpop [Lio]
Prompt: I saved a piece for you.
A/N: This is for @justhao in the valentine’s event! I hope you love it 🥺. And now whenever I eat salted caramel I’ll think of you. 💚
*****
She was part of the design team. She worked with Seventeen in creating their album covers and even helping in the production of the MV's. She was the team leader and had been with Seventeen since the beginning. She knew the boys personally and was close to quite a few with them. She worked hard and the boys appreciated her help.
She worked very closely with Jihoon. They often would discuss the concept of the album, that way she could get an idea for the design and he could bounce off some ideas with some that had her expertise. They didn't talk much outside of those little meetings and that was okay. They still exchanged greetings in the hallway and would message each other to express their admiration for the other's work, but nothing much beyond that.
She had days where she thought about him, deeply loving their conversations. The group's concepts would sometimes be deep, giving her the chance to glance into the mind of Jihoon and hear his ideas and thoughts on certain things. It's hard to not fall for him when he talks about his passion. She could listen to him talk all day and never once get bored. The way his deep voice carries through the room as his eyes light up, showing his excitement for the topic in question.
She was professional and therefore would never make a move, especially if she wasn't that sure he saw her as more than a friend. However she would still enjoy his company and let her thoughts with him wonder a bit just to occupy her mind occasionally. He never gave her indication that he viewed her more than a designer for his company, treating her well, but like everyone else.
~
Seventeen had won first place again! It was always very exciting and the CEO always treated it like their first. He always held a big party for the whole company, celebrating their wins. It was always nice to have these parties, it was a chance to see Seventeen let loose and be themselves without worry of schedule or songs. However, Jihoon could never stop thinking about music, he of course enjoyed himself but his mind was always thinking about the next beat.
Seventeen always arrived at the party first, they worked the hardest so they got to enjoy themselves the longest and got to enjoy the party amongst themselves for awhile before others joined in.
She was usually one of the last to arrive. She would wrap things up for everyone, meaning she worked the latest on party nights. She enjoyed it and was okay with being late seeing how the party usually went on until AM's in the morning, she knew she would get plenty of partying in.
She takes the elevator up to the roof, checking the time her phone reads '10:45'. The elevator opens, revealing the party happening on the roof. It was per usual, most of Seventeen occupied the dance floor while the others made a circle around them along with the others from Pledis. Mingyu and Wonwoo were near the food table while Seungkwan and Seokmin were planted to the DJ station. Others were scattered about such as Jihoon and Jeonghan.
She steps out of the elevator, immediately being greeted by the CEO who seemed to be a bit tipsy from the way he swayed about slightly. He congratulated her on her hard work and gave her a hug which he always did when he was in this state. She just laughs and thanks him and congratulates him on his hard work as well. He didn't stay with her long as he scrambled to the next employee to do the same to them, making her laugh as she shook her head.
She made her way to the dessert table, exchanging greeting and such as she walked passed. She reached the table, he expectations high as she knew the CEO always ordered them for parties. Since she was one of the lasts to arrive she usually missed them, but her hopes were high this time cause it was early into the night, so she suspected that they would still have a few. As she scanned the plates full of different sweets her eyes meet the tag that read salted caramel.
Her face drops as she sees the empty plate, only small grains of salt left behind from the once full plater. She sighs as she walks away, her annoyance choking out her hunger as she goes to the ledge that overlooks the city, standing next to Soonyoung who had come from the dance floor. His hair was sticking to his forehead as beads of sweat could be plainly seen across his face. She giggles, thinking about how much fun he had dancing.
"Congratulations, Soonyoung." She tells him as she rests her arms across the railing, looking out at the lights of the darkened city.
"Thank you." He smiles his famous eye smile. "Congratulations to you too, you've worked hard as well."
"I hope you guys will rest for awhile."
"We will to an extent, but you know Jihoon is always in the studio even on days off."
"I know, I wish he would spend some time outside."
"Oh!" Soonyoung exclaims suddenly. "Jihoon has something for you!"
"For me?"
"Yea, he was asking where you were earlier cause he had something for you."
She turns around quickly, her heart speeding up in anticipation as she sans the crowd, looking for the vocal team leader. She spots him. His eyes meet hers in an instant and she feels her face warm up. Jihoon smiles at her, making his way over to her as he walks through the crowds. She wants to run away in that moment as he approaches her, her nerves making her feel as if a stone was caught in her throat and a knot was formed in her stomach.
Jihoon reaches her before she realizes and bows in greeting, her doing the same.
"Good evening."
"Hello, Jihoon."
"I believe congratulations are in order."
"You guys do the hard work, you deserve it the most." She smiles, him returning it.
"Here." He holds out a napkin that was folded neatly. It was placed in her hand when she outreached them towards him. "There was only one left, so I saved a piece for you."
Her hands shook slightly as she unwrapped the napkin, revealing a salted caramel candy. She gasps as she looks between Jihoon and the sweet treat not believing the current moment.
"You saved it for me?"
Jihoon blushes slightly, nerves finally getting to him as she stared at him with admiration. "I know you never get any cause they're usually gone and I know they're your favorite... And there was just the one left...
Her heart fills with warmth that spread throughout her chest. "Thank you Jihoon."

"It's Just The Spindle"
I'm a thirsty bitch for angst. So welcome to the first of many parts for twisted x a cursed reader (with the help of a friend each dorm will have a slightly different curse) I'm starting with malleus and the curse is very similar to sleeping beauty. I'll try to keep on top of getting these out.
PS. This took so long I got really excited about researching how spinning wheels work.
-creamy
Reader has he/him pronouns though this can be enjoyed by any. Reader is not mc!!
Tw: angst, mentions of depression, violence, slight yandere
The day was late a gentle glow gave peace in the dorm. Some attend to their studies; one naps among the animals, the tiny world of the dorm seems to be at peace. Though a single student has an unexpected fate they are about to face.
Y/n lurks around the unused halls of the dorm his heart singing a song leading him to a unknown destination. His heels echo through the quiet halls softy reaching few ears, a Prince's ear picks up on the clicks and spikes his interest. Leaving the unfinished work behind, Malleus moves to find the unfortunate heart that wonders.
The beating of the mortals heart grew in volume the song taking over his mind; as the s/c hand wrapped around the cold metal handle, the dragon Fae reached the human friend, the human who holds the strings of his heart without knowledge. Green eyes watch the near hypnotized man turn the handle and pushes open a long forgotten door, to a barren room void of anything but an old Saxony spinning wheel covered in dust and webs it's bobbin half filled with yarn while, the wool laid spread around the tool as if there was haste when the maiden who once spun it abandoned it.
Malleus's heart froze seeing y/n wonder in, the glossed look in his eyes made the Royal release exactly what was taking place. The sleeping curse. The same, or atleast similar, curse that his grandmother placed on a princess many a century ago. Before he could think his legs were carrying him towards the competitively younger man, yelling out for them as he passed the border of the room. The familiar voice pulling the cursed back to reality however, it was to late as he turned his head to look the left ring finger landed on the spindle and it was over. With a slight lack of grace the h/c man fell back knocking the ancient wheel with him it hitting the ground, breaking with echoing loud crack. Malleus caught the sleeping man before he landed.
Between the wheel's crash and Malleus's grief filled wailing the whole of Diasomnia was alert, their previously peaceful afternoon was now a night of curiosity. Lilia, having an idea as to what had happened, with Sebek and Silver made swiftly towards to the distressed Prince.
The two taller men pulled their broken friend way from the human that has caused this heartache, Lilia quickly took y/n's heavy lifeless body and placed him on the ground; getting an unexpected and frankly out of character roar from Malleus as tears pooled at his chin and his legs grew weaker. Silver silently told Sebek what he wanted to do before gently bringing the dragon down to the ground where he could safely continue his agonizing cries while being held by people he sees as his family. Looking over y/n Livia's suspicions were proven true, the cure. The Fae y/n grew up under did inform him of this though he never did believe it; why would a peasant family in counter and Fae with such power, and how had they angered them? This question weren't important now, he had to comfort Malleus and start work on how to save you.
The dorm was near silent again but this dorm the only sound was the mourning the Prince, for the first week seemed to be handling as many. he didn't stay by the sleeping corpse when his peers came by giving gifts to be placed around the soft bed he rest some would stay longer speaking to those who slumber as if he'll respond; he never did. Teachers came by as well few leaving things most there to help Malleus work on a way to free you. Leona even came by shortly, it was clear that this lost has hurt most in the school.
As time passes the answers never seem to show itself, though many continue trying to remind him of the original tale of his grandmother, he simply refuses. He doesn't want to accept that the true love kiss may not be from his pale lios; there has to be another way. Lilia tries to keep his 'child' together and safe taking him out on walks at night, while silver watches over y/n. Despite these efforts Prince malleus breaks more and more until the final crack.
The doors to his room, as well as the stairs leading up the tower to it have been blocked and filled by large roses and their thorns creating a near death trap for those who don't have the aid a strong teleportation spell or broom but even those are risky their own two people who the vines move for: Lilia, silver and when they do he's usually reading more and more books on curse's or sleeping alongside y/n hands interlocking are tears visible on his face; the food they left on their last visit was barely touched. The Prince's own room hasn't being used since ye fell its covered in dust with the smell of what once was, the sound of y/n laugh still echoing off those walls; it was hunting to walk pass.
Years it's been years your body stay the same just barely breathing eye closed gently enough that one would believe they were to open any second. However he knows better know but why, why had he left him, why didn't y/n tell him of this. he would have protected him, if he Had then he wouldn't be where he is now: A ruined castle covered in vines of thorns, alone. Even with his 'family' he's alone without him, with out the man he loves. "maybe my kiss will wake him... I have nothing more to try" the mumble was his last hope.
Pushing the h/c out of the beautiful face he leans in closing his eyes. If this doesn't work he shall live his long life without love, without what he wanted most. His lips y/n' touch lightly.

For 아빠 (A.C.E)
Title: For 아빠
Pairing: A.C.E x Reader
Genre: Fluff; Dad!A.C.E
Word Count: 2,881 Words
Writer: Whattodowithkpop [Lio]
Summary: When their kids want to do something for them.
*****
Donghun
Donghun had been busy a lot recently. Him and Jun had been practicing for an upcoming show that they were attending together and that meant he would get home pretty late most night, definitely after his daughter had gone to bed. She would see him just long enough in the mornings to give him a kiss before he left for more practice.
She missed her dad dearly and asked her mom if she could do something for him.
"What do you want to do for daddy?"
"I don't want him to be lonely." She says with a small pout, one that mimicked Donghun's perfectly and made her mom smile fondly.
His daughter ran into her room, rummaging through her belongings before finding what she wanted. She rushes back to her mom, holding out the item with both hands in front of her face.
"Can we give him this so he's not lonely?" Their daughter asks as she holds out a plush brown bear in her hands. "He can watch daddy while he practices."
"Daddy would love that." Her mom smiles at her daughter as she pulls her into her lap. "Let's take it to daddy at lunch, we will bring him his favorite."
~
When they arrive at the practice room, they quickly maneuver the halls, finding the correct practice room where Donghun and Jun sat, taking a small break. The two girls enter, Donghun's daughter sprinting towards him to fall into his lap, hugging him around the neck before either singer could process the moment.
Donghun let out an oof as he smiled, hugging her back. "What brings you here, Little Princess?"
"We didn't want you to be lonely." His daughter confesses cutely as she holds the bear out to Donghun. "He's going to watch you practice."
"But this is your bear." Donghun looks at his daughter with puppy eyes.
"He's yours now." She tells him, leaving the bear in his lap. "He will watch you and Junhee now and keep you company. I don't want you to be lonely and he makes me feel better so he will make you feel better too." She smiles up at Donghun, making his heart clench in love.
"Mommy brought lunch too!" She states excitedly. "She brought some for you too, Junhee." The little girl paddles over to Jun, giving him a hug as well as he smiles down at her in his lap.
"That's very nice of you both to come visit." Jun smiles.
"We came for daddy but we will say hi to you too." This makes Donghun laugh as he picks her up, Jun looking on in shock at her words.
"Let's go eat, Little Princess."
Seyoon
His daughter never said a lot, but she always missed Seyoon when he was busy. She cared a lot about both her parents and always wanted to do stuff for them. Seyoon was currently at the broadcasting station about to perform their comeback song on tv. He had come home to sleep at night and had breakfast with them every morning, but she still missed Seyoon.
She came out of her room, seeing her mom on the couch with a book in her hands as her fingers traced the pages carefully as she read. She climbs the couch, a big feat for her tiny frame, and crawls into her moms lap.
“Hey Sweetie.” Her mom greets her, immediately putting her book away to give her full attention to her daughter.
“Where’s daddy?” She asks as she look up at her mom.
“He’s going to be in tv tonight so he’s recording.” Her mom explains as she begins brush her fingers through her daughter’s hair, getting the small tangled that had formed over the day.
“I have something for him.” She says as she reaches in her pocket, pulling out a bracelet that she had made.
The beads were lava rocks stringed along a stretchy thread, tied loosely to fit a bigger wrist. It was very well done and made her mom’s heart swell with pride.
“He’s going to love it.” She smiles at her daughter, holding the bracelet eye level.
“Can I give it to him now?” She asks, eyes hopeful.
Her mom thinks for a moment, knowing if they go it would have to be quick, but it might be nice for him to get this before going on stage.
“Okay, but we can’t stay long, daddy has to work.”
She runs smiles slightly, running to get ready.
~
It was easy to get into the broadcasting station, they were given visitor passes a long time ago by Seyoon. He told them they could come anytime and he’d make sure they could get in. It was a quick flash of the pass and they entered. Her mom read directions and signs to get to the correct waiting room, the one reading ‘A.C.E’.
The two knock on the door. After hearing a ‘come in’ they enter, being greeted by ace and the staff tasked to help with hair and make up. Seyoon’s face lights up as he sees them, standing quickly to go hug them.
“This is a surprise.” He whispers in his wife’s ear, making her smile widen.
“It gets better.” She whispers back at him, looking down at their daughter
The other members come to say hi as Seyoon leans down to be at the same height as his daughter.
“I’m happy to see you sweetie.”
“I brought you something.” Her small voice only traveling to his ears and no one else’s.
His smile widens as she holds her hands over each other, hiding something between them.
“Can you close your eyes, please?”
Seyoon smiles at her politeness and does as told. He holds his hands out in instinct, feeling her small ones rest in his palm before an item escapes her hands and falls into his. Her hands leave his as she giggled quietly.
“Okay you can open your eyes.”
Seyoon’s eyes flutter open as he looks to his hands, seeing the bracelet she had made. His face starts to hurt from his smile as he puts the bracelet on.
“You made this for me?”
“I did and look!” She holds up her own wrist to show a matching bracelet.
Seyoon hugs her quickly. “Thank you sweetheart.” He whispers into her hair.
“Do you like it, daddy?”
“I love it.”
And it showed by how much he wore it. He would wear it everyday, only taking it off to sleep, exercise or practice, not wanting it to break. He even wore it on stage that day, making his daughter giggle uncontrollably when it appeared in tv that night.
Byeongkwan
Music played in the living room, a familiar tune traveling through the small apartment. Byeongkwan’s son was hard at work, dancing to an ACE song. His mom came in, giggling at his big movements and his outrageous facial expressions.
“What are you doing?” She asks her son as she sits in the floor next to him to get a perfect view of his dancing.
“I’m dancing like daddy.”
She giggled as he continues the moves to the very complicated ‘Favorite Boys’ choreography. “You’re practice has payed off! You’re dancing so well!”
The young boy stops to smile at his mom before running over to her.
“Mommy, I want to show daddy.” He says in a shy voice, his eyes down to the floor.
“You want to show daddy your dance?”
“Yea so I can dance with him. He really likes when I dance with him and I want to make him happy.”
“Aw sweetheart that’s so sweet.” She brings him into her arms, hugging him close as he does the same. “Daddy will love that.”
“When does he come home?”
She looks at the clock that hung on the wall, the time reading 6:00 pm. “He will be home in two hours.”
“I have to keep practicing.” He states soundly as he stands from his mother’s embrace. “Will you practice with me mommy?”
“Of course I will baby.”
~
8:00 pm rolls by, the dancing pair sweaty messes from their extensive practicing.
“I have to get on a cool outfit!” Byeongkwan’s son explains as he runs to his room, making his mom laugh.
She decides to clean up herself before Byeongkwan came home, going to her room as well.
It wasn’t long after that the apartment door made a sound, indicating it unlocking. Byeongkwan comes in, being greeted by his wife as she wraps her arms around him to kiss him in greeting.
“How’s my baby doing?” He asks as he smiles at her fondly.
She hums in response. “How’s my baby doing?”
“Much better now that I’m home.”
“It’s about to get much better.”
Byeongkwan quirks an eyebrow at her as she pulls away, confusion settling in him as she goes to their son’s room. Byeongkwan begins to follow before they both come from the room, his son dressed in his suit he only wears for special occasion.
“Daddy!” He runs to hug Byeongkwan, making Byeongkwan smile widely.
“You look sharp, Buddy.”
“I have a surprise for you.”
Byeongkwan watches his son go to the tv, pulling up a familiar song to the rapper. His smile continues to widen as the video loads, the first words coming through the speakers as his son starts to mimic his own movements.
His son hits the movements, they are wild for a five year old, but definitely impressive for his age. Byeongkwan feels pride swell in his chest as his wife stand next to him, her hand encasing his as they watch their son make the final movements. They both clap enthusiastically as their son bows in his tiny suit.
“You learned that dance by yourself?” Byeongkwan asks with excitement as his son waddles to him.
“Mommy helped.” His son expresses as he gives a thumbs up to his mom.
Byeongkwan mouths an I love you to his wife before looking back at his son.
“Can we dance it together?” His son asks, to which Byeongkwan agrees to immediately.
The two danced for hours, trying different songs and eventually changing to dance in pajamas. It became a regular thing for Byeongkwan to come home and dance with his son and it became common for Byeongkwan to bring his son to the dance practice room to help him practice for upcoming comebacks.
Chan
Chan and his wife were resting in bed on the Saturday morning. They had gotten up earlier than their son and decided to just rest in each other’s company before he awoke. They cuddled kissed each other to their hearts content, normally being told off by their son.
They had just pulled away from a kiss when their son walks into their room and climbs onto the bed.
“You can’t leave this room until I tell you to come out, okay?” He asks for clarification as he stares deep into their eyes.
His mother laughs, nodding as she continues to hold Chan’s hand under the blanket. Their son scurries off, closing their door as he goes. The couple look at each other and laugh, Chan’s infectious laugh traveling throughout the room.
“What do you think he’s doing?” Chan asks her in a whisper, their breaths mingling from their close proximity.
“I think it might have something to do with watching you cook the other day.”
"Let's hope he does better than me at least." Chan giggles as he nuzzles back into the covers.
~
Their son walks back into the room, jumping on the bed to announce his arrival.
"Daddy, it's ready." He giggles, one similar to Chan, as he bounces repeatedly on top of Chan.
Chan rises from bed, picking up his son and carrying him into the other room, both of their laughter filling the apartment. When Chan enters the kitchen, he sees that his wife was right about her suspicion. Thankfully, Chan's hope also appeared to be correct as the breakfast his son made looked better than anything Chan had ever attempted.
"This is for me and mommy?" Chan asks his son as he sits down, his son sitting on his lap.
His son nods in excitement as he waits for Chan to try his masterpiece. Chan takes a bite, gasping dramatically as it hits his tastebuds.
"You must be a professional chef." Chan shakes his head as he savors the taste.
"I am." His son smiles as he begins to eat his own portion he had prepared.
"We have to get mommy." Chan announces before picking his son up again to go get his wife so they could both brag about their son's amazing cooking skills.
Jun
Their mom was in the living room, reading a book while the twins played amongst themselves in their playroom. It was rare for quiet times like this, but she took the most of them because they never lasted long.
"Mommy, can we go to the pet store?" Her daughter asks in a soft voice, her tentativeness bleeding through.
"Why do you want to go there?" Her mom asks as she sets her book to the side, her full attention on her daughter.
"We need to get daddy a puppy!" Her son yells through the house, running and crashing into his mother's lap as he rests his hands on her shoulders to look at her.
"Why is daddy getting a puppy?"
"Because he misses Lion and he needs a new puppy." Her daughter explains as she joins her brother on their mom's lap, their pleading eyes looking at her.
"If daddy had a new puppy wouldn't Lion be sad?"
The twins look at each other, their eyes holding tears at the thought of Lion being sad.
"Then what do we get daddy to show him we love him?" Her son asks with a sniffle, tears threatening to spill at any second.
Their mom feels tears well up in her eyes as she watches her children sniffle in front of her.
"Oh sweetheart, daddy already knows you love him." She wipes the tears that begin falling over their cheeks, trying her hardest to keep from crying at the sight of their tears.
"But we want to show him." Her daughter sobs, the tears full force now as they cry into their mother's chest.
She holds them both as she rocks them, holding them until their tears subside before suggesting an idea.
"What if we made daddy letters?"
The twins sniffle as they look at her, wiping their eyes to get the left over tears out of their brown eyes.
"Can you teach us how to write 'we love you daddy'?" Her daughter asks, her eyes clear of tears as excitement overtakes them.
"Of course, Sweetie." She smiles brushing their hair back out of their faces. "Come on let's go."
~
Jun enters the house, hearing giggling coming from the playroom, making a smile appear on his face in an instant at the sound of his children's laughter. He leaves his shoes at the door, shuffling down the hall to see his entire family in the playroom. He comes in and wraps his arms around his wife, his nose settling into her neck as he breathes deeply into her.
"Daddy no!" His daughter screams covering her side of table, his son mirroring her actions making Jun look at the twins in confusion.
His daughter begins crying, ranting about how the surprise is now ruined.
"No! Sweetheart I didn't see anything!" Jun shouts as he covers his eyes with his hands. "I promise!"
"Kids you finish up, I will go distract daddy." Their mom tells them as she pushes Jun out of the room, her hand on his chest making his hands fall to look at the closeness of their bodies.
"How are you going to distract me?" He asks with a goofy smile as he pulls his wife into his arms.
"I can think of something." She whispers as she kisses him on the lips, her arms encasing his waist and pulling him closer to her.
"Okay daddy!" A tiny voice comes from the playroom, pulling the couple apart as Jun watches his kids hand out pieces of paper out to him.
The messy handwriting and oddly proportioned pictures were scattered across the papers, showing both personalities from his twins. He feels tears in his eyes as he looks at the papers, feeling a sense of overwhelming love and joy for his family.
"You made these for me?" He asks, his voice staying calm despite the frog stuck in it.
"We wanted to get you a puppy but we didn't want Lion to be sad." His daughter tells him with a bright smile.
Jun leans down to hug them both, his hands holding their heads against him as he tries to compose himself before facing them again.
"Daddy loves them." He says as he kisses both of their heads.
They cheer as they run off again, going to play amongst themselves again now that they've shown their love.
"We had many tears because Lion would feel replaced with a new puppy." His wife says as she wraps her arms around him again.
"You're a warrior." Jun whispers against her lips as he kisses her again with the papers tight in his fingers.

BODYBUILDING WITHOUT BORDERS WITH LIONARDIS CARDOZA
BODYBUILDING WITHOUT BORDERS WITH LIONARDIS CARDOZA
And the enjoyment to the best of our Latin roots began with that high energy and good vibes that come from our Latin American hearts and feelings. We entered giving play to this day by others very happy and picturesque.
To the rhythm of the music of the Cuban reggaeton folk Gente de Zona, Lio Cardio, this formidable athlete, whose excellent physical condition can be seen in the graphics that support this writing, trains with a great happiness that seems to be a party to which he was attending and not a gym. Between brief breaks in his training, Lío talks to us and answers about everything we ask him. The doubt about that particular feast that he had mounted in his training was cleared at once by our protagonist.
“Brother this sport is my passion, it is my life and life must be enjoyed, remember that life is a carnival and for me it is a personal party every time I train. Music and bodybuilding run through my veins, I look for music that motivates me two hundred percent and you will always see that I will never lack Cuban reggaeton in my day to day, that's why they know me as “El Animal” because I am a fan of that song from the Zone People group and because I train in that beast mode. "
This that this IFBB Pro League athlete has just announced is very true, so much so that on September 22 at the IFBB Asian Grand Prix Korea Pro 2018 this Cuban was the center of attention. There he put on his show to the rhythm of the reggaeton song “Te Duele”, delighting the audience, who, given his extraordinary performance, rewarded him with thunderous cheers accompanied by raging applause.
This is Lio Cardio, the one who trains “beast” mode, the one who is a lover of good music and a good head of house, is that young man who one day left Cuba with his whole home to Chile to look for a better future and who Today he is a worthy IFBB Pro League, faithful representative of the Latin bodybuilding caste sommer ray nude.
How did you do to leave Cuba and arrive in Chile?
At the invitation of a friend from those years, who invited me to Chile and I loved it, I stayed to prosper and be able to help from here to my family in Cuba, who were lacking in resources, it was very hard for me to leave everything behind, but I had to Do it not for me, but for everyone who stayed home.
Why did you stay to live in Chile and how did it go?
I settled in Chile because here I made roots, here are my children, my wife and friends. Chile has given me a lot and I am very grateful to this beautiful country. Although I am living in Chile, I am not nationalized, therefore, to travel to compete it is very cumbersome because I need a visa to many of the countries I visit, this is why I cannot enter the United States due to being Cuban, the measures Policies and immigration are very strict with us, perhaps later when the laws are changed I will be able to attend, but I will not rest until I reach my objective: Mr. Olympia.
If I tell you that it is time to rewind the tape of your life, how would you remember that time when you started in the world of irons and because you took the step of entering this world?
From a very young age in Cuba those who pushed me in the irons, were two cousins who are very important to me, they were the ones who took me to the gyms where we lived, there they taught me how to train and get to know the world of Bodybuilding, obviously with the scarcity of information that was available in Cuba at that time, our most important Cuban references we took as an example were Sergio Oliva and Lee Labrada; we as amateurs dreamed of someday emulating them and having that muscle mass that they exhibited in the posters that were in the gyms.
Why and when did you decide to compete, how was that experience?
I remember that when I arrived in Chile in 2008, I always had a toned body because in Cuba I also trained. This was done within the short time I had in my country to do it, since I was a Police in Cuba and I made the most of it when I had some space left to carry out activities outside of my work.
Here in Chile, while establishing myself solidly, I put a lot of effort into my work since I had to support my family, which was my priority. In the little time I had, I dedicated it to going to the gym and training a little to stay in shape, this was until when I became financially here in Chile (since arriving at an unknown place from so far, it is very difficult to take root in various areas : financially, sentimentally, etc.) and already in 2010 I met people who were from the bodybuilding environment here in Chile, who motivate me to get on the stage. It was a disaster! (laughs) I battled with the best in Chile at that time and I got third place, the category I think 75 kilos ... It was many years ago.
Please tell your fans and readers how you won the Pro Card:
It was on September 11, 2017 at the South American Championship held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was Absolute Champion and of the category Up to 100 kilos, with it obtaining my Pro card, being today a member of the IFBB Pro League.
It is very urgent to inform you that in that South American event, Lio Cardio was the king of the event, he left no one behind, he was the Best Poser of the event and Absolute Champion of the Overall of said event.
If there was any difference between being amateur and professional, what would it be?
Everything! I think it is like going to the University, you already pass the school, you graduate and you go to the University and you measure yourself with people who really took this as their way of life and that implies putting all of you in this and surrounding yourself with people who share this way of life with you and support you, it is a very powerful change.
At what point in your life did you know that this was your sport and profession?
Since I was a child, as I told you, when my cousins took me to the gym, lifted weights and fell in love with bodybuilding, I was always passionate about this world and when I competed for the first time on top of a platform, I knew that this was my thing.
For them to write down as relevant data, Lio Cardio, along with the legendary Sergio Oliva Sr. and Lee Labrada, are the only three professional Cuban bodybuilders that La Perla del Caribe has given.
LEAVING A FOOTPRINT ON THE ROAD
A physicist-constructivist of this high human and sporting quality cannot ignore helping or guiding others and for this reason we give you part of that conversation that will surely serve you all.
What words could you describe being in the bodybuilding world?
It's my passion! My insides constantly tell me: "I was born for this!". For me, being part of the league where the best in the world of this sport are, is an honor and a dream come true.
Explain to us in your words, what is bodybuilding and what benefits does it bring for those who practice it?
As I told you before, it is a passion and what motivates me day by day to be the best in every way, muscularly and as a person. The benefits are having a much better quality of life and many perks as an athlete.
In your training, what do you prefer the intensity or volume and why?
The truth is that both, I generally prefer to train lightly to avoid injuries. But for results with muscles that I know I need to improve, I do fewer sessions with a little more weight so that the muscle develops more.
What training advice would you give to those who are starting this path?
Focus and winning mindset, that would be my advice; training is seen on the road, the first thing at least for me is to have the focus, the desire and the disposition.
By the way, Lio leaves us as a contribution to his chest and back training which he performs three times a week.
CHEST TRAINING:
Inclined straight bar: 5 x 12
Dumbbell opening: 5 x 12
Pulley opening: 5 x 12
Straight bench: 5 x 12
Straight bench with dumbbell: 5 x 12
BACK TRAINING:

"UP TO THE VIEW ALWAYS MY PEOPLE"
Before closing this note, we want Lio to express his feelings ...
Who do you thank for supporting your career?
First to God forever bless me. To my family, my wife Paulina Gajardo, my children Lázaro, Ignacia and Max who are my pillars and my roots to continue growing, my dear family in Cuba, my mother, father, sister and nephews, etc., and to all the people. with which you grow, who support me and feel proud of me.
A thousand thanks to my sponsor and friend Guillermo Full Energic, who is the owner of the Full Energic @nutritionfullstrore brand, who more than a sponsor is an unconditional friend.
To my friends who constantly want me and give me the best vibes always. To my fans, that I always try to give time to each one of them and answer their messages.
Thanks to MD Latino for their always supporting me and their constant concern in every way, I send their readers a big hug and I always hope to deliver news of progress and gratifications in this sport to all Latinos.

Anchorless
(Based off a snipet I wrote about my o.c Pyro and how far they'd go for Kipo. Only for their sacrifice to horribly backfire. Also the idea of being anchorless was just really intresting to me. Just being lost to yourself and getting stuck in that animal mind set.)
You were falling. Grasping at air as feathers fluttered around you. You had just wanted to help. You wanted Kipo to know she wasn't alone. But now you were dropping, getting further and further from your friends. From the fight. From yourself.
Looking around trying to find something anything to stop your descent you begin to panic as you continue to free fall. Kipo needed back up, she needed support. She needed you! You thought if you did what Emilia did maybe... maybe...
There's a loud caw as the bird above you flaps their wings sending it's feathers fluttering down. Feeling the air leave your lungs as you fall they rise above you and you notice they're your favorite color. They're you.
Closing your eyes hearing the wind whistle in your ears as it throws your hair around, the shouts fade away, and you plummet. Slowly you feel yourself loose control receeding deep into your mind as adrenaline courses through your body. Reaching out hoping to grab something, anything, your head spins. Your grip is slowly slipping from your mute side as it begins to take over. As it forces you to keep falling.
"(Y/N)!" Snapping your eyes open your floating in space. You can't see out of your own eyes anymore but you can see all your old memories. The mute is gone and you stand on nothing. Clouds surround you making you nervous as you begin to wander about trying to find a way to control yourself again.
"..." Unable to speak you walk, footsteps silent as the fog of your mind muffles all sound.
Seeing yourself and your friends you pause hand stretched to grab one but you feel yourself sinking into the clouds. Pulling back from your memories the sinking stops and your left alone and trapped in your own mind. Tears slipped down your cheeks as you open your mouth trying to scream but there's no sound.
Spinning around panicked you couldn't see a way out, you were stuck. You were lost in yourself. The cawing from before gets louder and as you fall to your knees sinking into the fog your surrounded by your repeating memories. Closing your eyes you feel yourself flying.
~~~
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!!!" Kipo continued calling out to you but you had long stopped responding. Emilia was cured and gone forever, you'd done it.
As she stood there watching you, a mega bird she smiled sadly.
"Come on (Y/N)... Come back..." She mumbles but you don't hear her. You don't have an anchor, you can't change back and there's no more cure.
Shaking as she watches you, Hugo wrapped his arms around her and she began crying into his jacket, slowly sinking to her knees. You'd saved her life. You'd saved Hugos life. All the mutes. All her friends. But at what cost? Was it worth it?
"... Kipo..." Hugo mumbled. He looked up and the Mega Bird you'd become was flapping it's wings looking around confused. It cawed staring at something near them before looking away but it's eyes. They were devoid of intelligence. It was just a hollow husk of (Y/N) and there was no cure and no pre established anchor. If they couldn't find themselves they'd be lost forever.
"Hey Kipo it's okay-" Lio tries to soothe but Kipo shakes her head.
"No dad! No it's not!" Kipo responds. She's shaking as she clutches her brothers jacket. She was so close to loosing him. She already lost YumYan Hammerpaw and so many others. No you too. Please not you too!
"Kipo we can figure this out. We can help them." Song states but Kipo doesn't listen this is all her fault.
"(Y/N) PLEASE!!!" She begs pleading for you to change back. Tears streak down her face and her eyes turn pink as she shakes. They'd lost so much not you too!
"Wait kid you'll-" Jamack tries to warn but it's to late. With a couple flaps of the Mega birds multiple wings you were gone.
You were gone...
~~~
Your body felt heavy. Hand digging into the dirt like claws you were numb. Your entire body... something was wrong with it but you didn't know what. Grunting your eyes glance around, vision blurred.
"... Ugh..." You can't remember what happened. Why you felt this way but whatever you'd been through it made your entire body hurt. Had Emilia smacked you around that much? "... guys?" You call out but your voice is scratchy. When you get no response you slowly push yourself up and look around. The jungle your in is empty. You're alone.
Getting up you teeter before leaning on a tree and vomitting. Shaking after you finish, you wipe at your mouth once your stomachs emptied. A feather flutters from your hair and you pause remembering the hell you endured. Looking around there were feathers everywhere.
Lightheaded and dizzy the transformation being very draining, you begin stumbling in a direction hoping to find home. Minutes blend into hours as the sun falls and the forest becomes dark. Your cold, hungry, and tired but you continue to stumble.
Seeing the Timbercats village your vision goes blurry as you collapse outside the wooden wall. Noises erupt around you and feeling hands on you, you smile before everything fades to black that same voice that brought you back calling your name as you fade away.

Imagine Helping Hugo through a Nightmare
Scarlemagne didn't tell you everything. You'd escaped the burrow together risking your life to get him out but you couldn't leave with him. You were too ill.
Before the burrow collapse when Hugo was discovered as sentient Emilia dismissed you from the project. You tried to visit him to check in on your friend but Emila kept a close watch on you.
Then you got sick and could barely leave your room so sneaking off to see him wasn't an option.
Your sickness distracted you from your connection with Hugo and looking back you deeply regret that. It was some kind of agressive flu that had turned into an infection, it kept you bed ridden for weeks and you could only guess the horrors Hugo suffered while you were locked in your cabin heavily medicated and struggling to heal. While you were safe and he was left alone.
You had worked with Song and Lio on the Mute Cure project but after you were fired they stopped visiting you. You lyed in bed for days tossing and turning filled with guilt and anger.
You were left for weeks lonely in your cubicle and left uninformed. You think they believe you told Emilia about Hugo but you'd never. He was your friend. More than that he was family.
~~~
He had found you after you left Emila's burrow. It was years after the initial destruction of your first home. Lio, Song, and Hugo were gone and you all had to adapt to life on the surface. Emilia was becoming more ruthless snapping at everyone. Telling them to not forgot what mutes had done to their home.
Thankfully being ill she left you alone and the fresh air did you well but Emila's acts made you sick to your stomach. After you finally had the strength to leave Scralemagne as he now called himself had taken you in.
He hadn't been sleeping well so he asked you to stay the night in room. To talk until he drifted off but a sharp kick to your ribs makes you jerk. Hands gripping the satin sheets you blink tired, yawning as you look around. Had you fallen asleep?
Hearing groaning and feeling another kick you turn confused. "... Hugo?" You mumble softly forgetting to use his new name.
Pausing in shock you blink repeatedly before staring. Scarlemagne was thrashing in the bed muttering something about Lio and Song. He was an incoherent mess shaking and clawing at air.
"Hugo...? Hugo!" Shaking him your hands grip his fur tightly. He'd been having trouble sleeping but you had no idea he meant he was thrashing with night terrors and speaking gibberish.
"HUGO IT'S OKAY!!!" You scream trying to wake him up. He was safe, he was in bed, he had you. Holding his hands to keep him from clawing something you hug him tightly crying into his chest. "HUGO PLEASE!" You beg.
He wakes with a startle. You gently calm him down and he hums melting in your embrace. He hadn't told you what happened he wouldn't speak of it and if this was a side effect you weren't sure you wanted to know.
Kissing his forehead rocking him you hum songs from the burrow, from before. Whatever had happened to him perhaps it was better not spoken aloud.
"Don't leave me..." He mumbles in a begging tone. Continuing to hum feeling your shirt get wet with his tears you close your eyes. Whatever had happened you were here now and you'd never leave him.
Being Kipos Older Sibling
~ You grow up in the science burrow with your mom Song and your dad Lio. Hugos your friend growing up you are very fond of the mandril. Doctor Emilia says he's for science but you think of him as a playmate. They aren't many kids your age and Hugos so cute and cuddly you can't help but get attached!
~ You've spent many nights cuddled up to Hugo wrapped in his star blanket and Lio and Song have walked in on you two so many times. They both think it's adorable. As you grow older you see what's happening to Hugo and you don't like it. You try and hide the formulas your parents are supposed to give Hugo but they always find them and gently scold you. It doesn't stop you from trying again though.
~ When Hugo speaks for the first time you get very excited. You'd taught him some sign language since the formulas hadn't seemed to be working but now he could speak! Actually talk! Think coherently! And spell. You make sure to not tell Emilia but the woman grows more suspicious as you spend more time with the mandril.
~ You teach Hugo how to read and write with yiur parents and you show him all your favorite books. Fantasy and castles become his favorites and you try and find as many as you can. Hugo creates a game where he pretends to be a King and you pretend to be his nobel knight protecting him.
~ Hugo picks up on the piano quickly now that he's smart and he loves leaning how to use it. You enjoy singing quitley with him and making songs up together. You enjoy teaching him things and your bond grows stronger as he becomes more human like.
~ About a year later and Song and Lio decide the burrow is becoming unsafe. Hugos a person not a science experiment and Emilias becoming suspicious. They make plans to leave with you and Hugo but Song discovers she's pregnant and she's afraid to have the baby on the surface. It's unsafe.
~ You tell Hugo the amazing news and he's excited. He can't wait to have a baby sister and see the surface world. That night after staying with him all day you kiss his head goodbye. You never could have guessed that hours after you leave Emilia discovered the truth and she wasn't happy...
~ You're barred from seeing Hugo as experiments are done. You're considered emotionally compromised and Emilia refuses to let you in. When dad and mom come home they explain the situation and you're devastated.
~ Kipo is almost here and they promise just a bit longer and you foolishly believe them. More than a month passes and Kipos still not close to delivery. One night when your parents are asleep your guilt wins over your sense and you sneak into Hugo's room. You shake seeing what Emilias done to him and run up to the cadge he's in. He cries when he sees you and you cry seeing the state he's in. Picking the lock to his cadge you hug your baby brother close eyes clenched shut as tears streak down your face matting his furr. He cries into your chest and hugs you so tightly you feel your heart break. Once he's calmed down enough he tells you all about running all day with no breaks and what his mutations done to him. What he can do to others.
~ Lio amd Song never told you these things and it was kind of scary but you know it's still Hugo and you love Hugo. Laying him down you gently massage his sore muscles as he keeps crying and tells you what's been happening to him and how he's being treated. He's shaking and melts into your gentle touch sobs shaking his entire body. You finish and wrap him in his star blanket. You rock him as you hold him close. He knows you can't stay but he begs BEGS that you do. That you leave now together. That you don't leave him here. P l e a s e. It breaks your heart but you tell him all about Emilia forcing you out and pushing you away. How you're not supposed to be here and you'll get in serious trouble if anyone finds out. How it could end really badly...
~ He's scared he may never see you again and tries to stay up as long as he can since you promised you'd stay til he sleeps but eventually exhaustion comes over him and he falls asleep. He wakes up alone in his tiny box to yucky food and a scowling Emilia. He misses you already.
~ It's hard for you. You can only visit about once every other week and Song and Lio can't know what your doing. You and Song are supposed to be sick with burrow pox since her pregnancy with a half mute has had some side effects.
~ It's so close and your anxious to get out and leave. You bring Hugo treats and keep promising soon. Soon. Soon. How could you know soon would never happen?
~ Deciding it's too dangerous in the burrow Song agrees to have the baby on the surface but then she goes into labor. Your still young but you've taken biology classes and you know what's happening. Getting warm towels for your mom you hold her hand letting her crush yours as Lio helps her deliever.
~ You're all exhasuted once it's over. You tell your dad to get Hugo as you hold your baby sister Kipo. Songs exhausted and taking a small break before you all decide to leave. Loud banging is heard on the door and you panic holding Kipo close. Kipo begins crying and you shush her looking at your mom and dad panicked. Dad grabs a backpack and hands another to you. You're shaking as he takes Kipo and opens a vent. You're mother hugs you kissing you're forehead before she closes the vent and goes to the door. You don't know it at the time but you may never see her again.
~ Lio leads you through the vents and suddnely there's an earthquake. Lio tells you it's just Kipo you and him now. You're heartbroken but there isn't anything you can do. Hugos dead and so your mother.
~ It turns out Kipo became part jaguar like you picked. She's a fuzzy pink jaguar. You love her and you love her mute side with all your heart. She's beautiful and you promise to protect her at all costs. She often bats at your face with her paw and she's almost scratched you many times but you don't mind.
~ The surface is scary and Lio's always stressed with taking care od the two of you and Kipos mutation so you feel like you have to be perfect at all times. No complaining and no crying about Song. Dad needs you to be strong. You always keep Kipo calm and do your best to make dad feel okay.
~ Soon you meet the goats and learn that Kipo needs a burrow or she will become a jaguar and you'll loose your sister to their mute side. The thought shakes you up a lot and you begin fearing you'll loose Kipo like you lost Song. It's been days and you and dad are still searching for a burrow when you stop.
"HUGO!"
~ You tackle your brother shaking and crying. You thought he died but here he is, alive and okay. He made ot to the surface and other than some small scratches he looks okay. He hugs back and you begin shaking. You pull awa smiling and he freezes when he sees Kipo. He wants to hold her but Hugo seems different. Lio pulls back holding Kipo close. Hugo begins shaking and you reach out to calm him down but he lunges for his old star blanket that Kipos in and he rips it. Kipo begins crying and Lio runs. Leaving you behind. Hugo reaches out wanting to apologize but he begins laughing maniacally holding the blanket. Scared you run after your dad. You lost your mom you can't loose him and Kipo too!
~ You miss Hugo but you need to focus on Kipo now. Your moms gone and she'll need two parents so it's your job to step in and let her know you love her and will always support her no matter what. When you enter the burrow it's hard. You're used to adventure and adrenaline now it's back to normal as if nothing ever happened. The other teens don't like you much and you find yourself sobbing alone thinking of Hugo up there by himself and your mom gone.
~ You never take your frustrations out on Kipo or your dad. You end up becoming quiet and spend your time reading, pulling yourself away from others. You have Kipo and you have your dad and you have books. That's all you need.
~ Growing up you make sure Kipos always happy and laughing. You teach her about love and how everyone is equal. As she gets older you teach her songs and how to play instruments. You're there when she learns to walk. When she learns to read and write. Amd the older she gets the mote you see. Once school starts you help her with her homework. Kipo always has you and you make sure to be there for her no matter what.
~ You teach her about the stars and planets, flora and fauna, music, art, geology, biology, philosophy, psychology, history, and different cultures. Kipo is always surrounded by learning and you take pride knowing you helped raise her to be so smart. She loves reading and she'll lay on your lap and read to you all day if you want.
~ You're always making up fun games and silly songs or reading to Kipo. You two also write and make lots of fun art. Kipo enjoys just about everything and is never bored or unhappy. Unlike you she makes many friends and your glad shes happy and has people who care for her.
~ The pain of Song dying never goes away (especially since Kipo looks exactly like her) but you keep that pain away from Kipo. You tell her stories about how brave and smart mom was. You never once let your mourning get in the way of Kipo and her life. She deserves the best and your determined to give your lil sister just that. It's what Song would've wanted.
~ Your rock climbing with Kipo and your dad enjoying your time with them when you all feel tremors. You laugh it off at first guessing the megamute it must be but the tremord keep getting more intense. So much so you and Kipo almost fall. Your dad mutters something and before you can ask what he's talking about your falling.
~ You never thought you'd go back to the surface but here you are and it's strangely familiar and nice. Kipos scared but you feel confident. Together you can take on anything and maybe up here you can finally teach Kipo about the Jaguar and who she really is.
Imagine Hugo feels bad after he Accidentally Hurts You
"I didn't mean too..." He mumbles wringing his hands. Lio holds him close half hugging him half restraining him and Hugo begins struggling as he looks over at you.
In Hugos excitement to explain his new found ability he accidentally hit you with some of his pheromones. You got so dizzy you ended up passing out, hitting the floor with a loud thunk. When Hugo called your name you were unresponsive. He was panicking so much he began to make shrieking noises as he shook you. He was clawing into your jacket and yelling your name when Lio and Song walked in.
Lio had to pull Hugo away as Song looked over you but he didn't want to be pulled away. He wanted you to hold him and tell him it's alright! That you're alright!
"I'm sorry I'm sorry." Hugo keeps saying it over and over hoping it'll make this horrible situation go away. He hated this, hated that he did this. He didn't mean to. He really didn't! "Father. Father I want to see them! Are they okay?" He claws at Lio and the man hisses but continues to keep him close not letting Hugo out of his tight grip.
"Hugo. Hugo please calm down." Lio begs. "You need to stay quiet." He states looking towards the window in panic.
"But but but!" Pawing for you Song looks over. The woman looked releived and she nods at Lio. Lio sighs realising your okay as he sees you stir. Grip loosening as the tension leaves his body Hugo breaks away running towards you.
Song says something but Hugo ignores his mom as he focuses on you. He watches as you grunt scrunching your eyes at the bright light before looking up at him. He shifted and his small form blocked the harsh lights so all you could see was him. Chuckling head still dizzy you smiled seeing your friend. Leaning up slowly Song begins to protest but your already sitting up. Hugo moves to get closer to you and curls up in your lap. Seeing how distressed he is you hug him close.
"It's okay..." You murmer running your fingers through Hugos hair as you hold him close. You remember the fuzziness before you fell. You'd put two and two together and figured Hugo had accidentally hurt you. But by the way he was curentully clinging to you hiding in your shirt, you knew it was a mistake and he hadn't meant too. "It's okay I'm okay..." You assure and Hugo simply clings to you burying his face in your lab coat.
"(Y/N) what about that situation was okay? Hugo could've seriously injured-" Shaking against you Hugo feels warm arms wrap around him as the soothing scratches continue. You glare at Lio as the man glares back.
"But he didn't." You cut Lio off. "And it was an accident." You add. Hugo chitters softly agreeing and you hum.
"(Y/N) accident or not that could've been a dangerous situation." Song says. Hugo starts shaking and closing his eyes he feels tears.
"You're right it could've been dangerous." You agree. "But it was fine. I'm fine." Standing up slowly Lio grabs one of your arms as your other one keeps Hugo against you. Sitting down you hum touching your head. You'd maybe have a migraine from stress later but there were no dots flooding your vision and your head didn't burn that much so you concluded there wasn't a concussion. "Hugo I know it was an accident. Were not mad okay?" You assure as you pat the mandrils back. Hugo simply whimpers and stays in the safety of your coat. Lio frowns at you and you wave him off continuing to pet Hugo. "Next time that happens make sure you aren't yelling okay?" Kissing his forehead he hums.
"(Y/N) we need to talk about this." Lio states but you shrug.
"We really should." Song agrees. Hugos grip tightens around your shirt and you can tell he's distressed.
"As far as I'm concerned we just did." You state firmly. Lio and Song look at each other before nodding. Walking away they go back to work and you sigh. Hugo looks miserable as he peaks out of your labcoat and you smile giving him some head scratches.
"They're just worried Hugo. They're not mad." You hum. As you watch them work you hope their not mad.
... The lab had been tense lately. Emilia hadn't found out about Hugo yet but instances like today were nerve wracking. She was already suspicious if she learned the turth it wouldn't be good for any of you. Pawing at your hands you smile trying not to think of the what if's as you continue comforting Hugo.
I hope this lighten up your day! This isn’t a prompt or request unless you want to; but just imagine spending time with Song and Lio where they try to cheer you up? Just Lio playing a guitar while both him and Song sing to you or maybe working on a project together
(Been having a bad week and writing this helped. Just some good old fluff.)
You were a lab assistant in the burrow. Before Song and Lio had Hugo or Kipo they had you. You were a prodigy and a young one at that, only being a teen when Emilia assigned you to lab work. The blonde didn't care much for your mental health or if she was pushing to hard but Lio and Song did. They saw you as their own kid and because of that they were protective of you and wanted you to be healthy and happy always.
Your own parents were kind of absent so they filled the role and made sure you were always resting well and eating. Being a scientist in the burrow could take quit a toll so they did their best to make sure you didn't push yourself too hard and that Emilia put pressure on them and not you. After all you may be gifted but you were still a kid. They wanted you to have a normal teen life depsite your gifts.
Song had noticed it first. The slump of your shoulders and how you were less talkative latley were dead giveaways you were feeling something. She asked Lio what they should do and Lio being the dork he was grabbed his guitar.
"Oh (Y/N) oh (Y/N) oh (Y/N)
Why so glum? Why so sad?
Can't you smile for dear old dad?
I know lab work is hard. I know lab work is dull.
Just take a deep breath and let it go.
The labwork can wait. Can't you see?
I'd love if you laugh for dear old me."
Of course it was corny but hearing it you smiled. Song hugged you and Lio put his guitar away before rubbung your shoulders. Sighing at their kindess you watched as Hugo clapped from his space and you chuckled waving at the monkey. He made a cute sound and waved back before clapping some of his blocks together. Nodding content with the response you look at Lio and Song.
You hadn't been sleeping well. And the new member of your little family made it difficult to rest at times. Emilia was pushing for results but you didn't have any to give. Hugo was an unmutated monkey and so far the formulas you had showed no results. The new project was just stressing you out and Emilia threatening to pull you from the project was NOT helping.
"I'm okay." You state feeling happy as Lio and Song baby you. The attention was honestly nice after the lecture Emilia gave you that morning. "Just overworking I guess. Emilia's really been pushing." You admit rubbing your arm.
They nod understanding. "Well why don't we help you with the report kiddo?" Looking up at Lio smiling you nod pulling it out. As Song makes small corrections and Lio helps you write it Hugo crawls in your lap. Laughing happy to be surrounded by your family you hum.
The job may suck but you loved it. Loved them.
Going Back for Hugo
~ You were Song and Lios lab assistant. You were learning to be a scientist in the burrow and although it was a sensitive project Emilia trusted your schools test scores and believed this would be an easy first job for you.
~ Hugo was very cuddly and took to you very quickly. He was a good mandril and you knew he hated his formulas but it was part of your job to give them to him. He always scrunched up his face when he had to take them and looked at you betrayed. You always apologize rubbing his little head and give him some water to wash out the taste but there isn't much you can do.
~ Song and Lio quickly became your second parents and you enjoyed spending time with them and Hugo. They spent time teaching you things school never did and you enjoyed studying and working with them. Hugo was a sweet mandril and you were defiently learning a lot from him and the formulas you gave him.
~ You often just speedily eat your lunch over the sink in Hugos room and then get right back to work. It was your job to time when Hugo got formulas and write a report on each one and what he does throughout the day and if there's any changes. So you couldn't stay with Hugo all the time but you tried. Hugo always got very upset when you left so Song and Lio asked if you could start writing reports in the room instead of in your office. Emilia finds it stupid but allows it.
~ As Hugo grows up your watch his progress happy knowing you helped with that. Despite having not mutated he's still pretty smart. He likes smashing blocks and honestly acts a lot like a toddler. You start affectionately calling him lil Brother and now whenever you call him Hugo he gets fussy.
~ Hugo gets very attached to you and Song always teases that your his favorite. Which comes to be true in the following months. When Hugo first speaks it's to you. He's so proud. He says your name and spells it in the blocks he loves and you almost cry. But... this is wrong. What Emilia wants to do to him and other mutes like him is wrong.
~ You tell Hugo that he can talk in front of you Lio and Song but never anyone else. Emilia is... well she's mean and she'll hurt Hugo. Hugo despite being young seems to understand and only speaks in front of the three of you.
~ You read him stories and books and he fantasizes about being a king. You tell him there are no Kings left but you still make him a paper crown so he feels like one. He likes playing games where he's King and your his Nobel Knight or your a princess and he's your knight in shining armor. He always comes up with new ways to make you laugh and is a very sweet boy.
~ You're playing the piano one day to help him sleep when he comes over and sits in your lap. Smiling you begin showing him how to play. It's late so no one will see you. He begins practicing after you leave for the night and soon he's a master! He's a good singer too and he likes making up silly songs to make you laugh.
~ You're young but you realize quickly the burrow isn't nice. There are as many dangers inside just like the outside. You're the one who suggests you take Hugo and leave to the surface but then Song gets pregnant. It's unsafe to have the baby so you agree you should wait until their borne.
~ Hugos so excited!!! He has you and Song and Lio and nows he's getting a baby brother or sister!!! He can't wait to see the surface. He can't wait to see the world. You shh him when he begins getting to excited and hugging him close you show him books about the surface world and tell him stories that your grandmother told your mom about the old world.
~ One night after you leave Hugo you learn Emilia saw Hugo playing the piano. You come in and see Emilia yelling and arguing at Song and Lio. She turns towards you and before you can defend yourself she begins screaming.
"DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS???" You back up into a wall as Emilia corners you beginning to yell at you too. Hugo runs up and begins yelling at her defending you. Emilia demands a blood sample and Hugo hisses. You hold Hugo close saying it'll be alright but suddenly you can't move or think. Everything is hazy and everyone's speech sounds fuzzy.
~ Once you snap out of it hours later you learn Hugo has the ability to manipulate his phermones to control other people. Mandrils have pheromones that can influence other monkeys but when he mutated his phermones became stronger. He can now control any primates.
~ Emilia is giddy with this knowledge and the next thing you know Hugo becomes a real lab monkey. He's forced to run every single day and Emilia collects huge vats of his pheromones. He's barely given any food or water and it's a mess. Emilia tries to bar you from seeing Hugo since you've gotten attached but you ignore her.
~ Every night you can you sneak in the lab and visit Hugo. You bring him toys and treats and do your best to keep him happy. You keep apologizing for letting this happen and he keeps telling you he forgives you. Song and Lio keep promising to leave as Song gets closer to her delivery but you feel somethings up with Song and it isn't Burrow pox.
~ The day comes when Kipos borne. Emilia practically knocks down their door and you run to get Hugo. You end up getting in the room before there's a massive earthquake and you're knocked unconcious.
~ You wake up to sun. Blinding sun and loud roaring.
"HUGO! HUGO!" You begin panicking spinning around. Songs gone. Lios gone. Kipos gone. You're panicking as you dig through the rubble hoping to find something anything to tell you their alive.
~ You hear crying and running towards a toppled piece of the building you find a scared Hugo looking at the sky. Looking up you see Emilia laughing as she sprays phermones at a giant Mega Mute. Holding Hugo close YOU RUN.
~ You have no supplies. No food. No shelter. But you two have each other. You tell Hugo you don't know what happened to Song or Lio or Kipo. They may be dead but you have to hope they got out and are okay and away from Emilia. He's sad because they didn't come back for him. But he's happy because you did.
~ Sleeping on the surface is hard. Hugo gets nightmares and with his heightened sense of hearing every little sound scares him. You have to sing him to sleep most nights and hold him til he stops shaking.
~ Months later and your getting used to surface life. You know not to touch the Mega Bunny babies, what places to avoid, and what territories and mutes are safe. It takes a long time but you and Hugo adjust. You find out how to scavenge and you guys barley just barely survive.
~ You end up going into Organutang and Monkey territory. Eventually they trust you enough to let you in thinking your metal. For one you survived a collapsing building and for two your covered in small scars and can fight. In the bunker you took self defense lessons ans on the surface they came in handy. You understood plants and animals and because of this you were able to survive. You beat a monkey in a fight and you and Hugo are welcomed into the pack. The monkeys don't really like you but you can throw a punch and take care of yourself so they respect you enough to stay.
~ Eventually weeks turn to months and you meet up with Lio and you see Kipo. You're so angry and a little bitter but your glad he made it out safe. He tells you about Song and you shake knowing you were right. She's gone. Lio explains how he and Kipo have just been running. How he wasn't able to go back and you feel yourself crying. He left you. He left Hugo. And he promised he'd be back...
~ You see Hugo getting upset and pausing you notice Kipo is curled up in his blanket. Wiping your eyes you try and comfort him but he ignores you looking at Lio. Hugo wants to hold Kipo but you see him shaking. About to calm him down he lunges for Kipo making the poor girl cry. Lio pushes him away knocking him into you and leaves you. Again.
~ You begin crying and shaking holding Hugo close and he holds you back the piece of the star blanket still in his hands. Something in Hugo changes that day. He's not as nice after and he gets angry whenever humans other than you are mentioned. He uses his phermones on the other monkeys and takes control of the pack. You tell him he shouldn't use his pheromones in such a way and he ignores your advice. He however has never used his phermones on you.
~ He becomes Scarlemagne. He says it's all for you. To keep you safe and both of you in power but you can see what's happening to him and you don't like it. Don't like what he's becoming. You watch as the Hugo you know and love changes and slowly he becomes Scarlemagne the most powerful mute on the surface. Your his beloved sibling so he'd never hurt you but you see him becoming unhinged. You want to help him but you don't know how and you fear soon you'll loose the mandril you love forever.
Red (Byeongkwan)
Title: Red
Pairing: Byeongkwan x Reader
Genre: Fluff; Soulmate AU
Word Count: 3,423 Words
Writer: Whattodowithkpop [Lio]
Summary: A yellow string ties you with your best friend, while a red string ties you with your soulmate. It can be hard to determine which is which when you can’t differentiate the string colors.
A/N: I did research for this fanfic, but if anything is incorrect or inaccurate please let me know how I can fix it to be correct. Thank you 🥺! Also, a huge thanks to @yuchoice for helping me find the pictures for the banner!
*****
It's a common tale, one that many have heard before. The story of the red string of fate. A red string ties soulmates together, making it easy for ones not to get hurt. It may take some time to meet the one at the end of your string but it's worth the wait.
There is a stipulation. Some red strings are one sided. You could see a red string leading up to your soulmate, but they may not see red up to you. There were best friend strings as well. These strings were yellow instead of red to help distinguish your best friend. Some people's soulmate strings could one sided. As in, your string could show red leading up to a person, but on their side, the string showed yellow.
Unfortunately, for some, yellow and red were similar shades of color. I was one of the millions of people who had colorblindness. I couldn't distinguish the coloring between the two strings. The strings didn't worry me much, though. When soulmates and best friends were far away, the strings would stretch into the horizon. And mine had been far stretched for years. Because of this, she never worried about the colored strings wrapped around her wrist.
She left high school with no regrets and started working as an intern at her dream job. She didn't concern herself about either string as she moved up the corporate ladder. She had too much on her plate to worry about such trivial things such as her soulmate strings. Her strings had never indicated either destined person was near, so she chose to keep herself from worry. She figured she would always keep calm and collected when it came to her soulmate strings, however her view changed one spring day as she set at the park bench feeling the breeze that carried the fallen cherry blossoms through the air.
She was admiring the scenery, loving the felling of the sun tanning her skin as she basked in its warmth. Lost in her surroundings, she lifted her hand to brush through her hair, fixing the damage the wind had done to it. Something caught her eye, however, something that caused a range of emotions to swirl throughout her body. Shock, fear, excitement, to name a few. All because one of the strings was slack against her wrist, compared to its usual taught nature, this indicated that either her best friend or soulmate was near by.
She stood, feeling dizziness wash over her as her hands begun to feel clammy and her heart begun beating like a strong drum in a song as she looked for the other end of the string in the distance. The string trail still stretched for miles until it disappeared over the horizon, having no person as far as the eye could see. Her heart felt a twinge of pain at the empty horizon, one of her destined hadn't appeared before her. She shakes her head, setting a smile on her face as she chose to look at the positive side, they had been close, closer than they had ever been before.
Excitement continued to fill through her as she continued throughout her week. This new development giving her the habit of checking the horizon to see if the string had brought her any closer to them. She tried not to get impatient or frustrated, however it was hard when all she wanted now was to meet whoever was close to her. She let her curiosity continue to fuel her, but still kept focused on her daily life, not diverging from it so as to distract from her impatience.
~
It was a Friday night in the office as she filed the rest of her papers away before ending her shift. Most everyone had left by now leaving only a few employees scattered about finishing up the week's work so they could take their needed breaks for the weekend. Her new habit was still in full swing as she lifted her head to look towards the horizon, checking to see if the opposite end of her string was any closer to her. She took a double take as she watched a silhouette pass by her office door, the end of her string tied around a wrist of a colleague she had never met.
She halted her actions, walking as fast as she could towards the elevator where the figure had been heading. It was easy to assume that the parking garage was their destination, deducted only because almost everyone one else had already left to go home. She spots the elevator, sprinting towards it, reaching it right as the automatic doors close. Her sigh echos throughout the big hallway as she stares at the string leading up to the elevator, going through it reminding her of her failed attempt at meeting the person at the other end of the string. Her adrenaline beings to fade as she curses under her breath, going back to her office to finish her filing so she could go home for the weekend.
Weeks pass as she waits for evening to fall on the bustling city, the sun sinking low in the sky, creating a beautiful orange glow to shine through the office. She waits for the figure, hoping to catch them this time before they enter the elevator, even going as far as to stay late to explore the hallways and open offices before leaving for home. Her hope of finding them dwindled as each day passes without a trace of them. She was ready to give up all hope and go back to focusing only on work, her destined wasn't ready to reveal themselves so she would have to respect that and go on with her life.
~
The sun had begun to set over the horizon, the rays of sunset flooding into the office due the the large windows. A lot of people were heading home and she was following suit. She was packing her things so she could begin her trip home. She turns on her heels, not stopping to check her surroundings causing her to come face to face with a broad chest. Her eyebrow quirk as she raises her eyes, following the dress shirt up to a neck before following the pale skin to a smiling face. His hair was dark, some strands falling into his eyes and grazing his eyelashes, eyelashes that protected a pair of light colored eyes, eyes that bore into hers once they met.
His eyes held a deep care in them, her head tilting at the strong emotion he wore without having even spoke as much as a word to her. His eyes darted to his wrist, prompting her eyes to follow his as they reach his wrist. Her heart jumps in her chest and eyes fill with tears as she glances back and forth between her wrist and his. Her eyes stare at his wrist, the other side of one of her strings wrapped around him, the bow adorning his wrist in a beautiful way.
Without a second thought, She drops her things, them landing with a loud thump, as she wraps her arms around his neck, resting her chin on his shoulder as she holds her tears from falling. He stumbles back, arms wrapping around her waist as he balances them before her momentum knocked them to the ground. His hands travel up her back hugging her tighter, however what she doesn't feel is his tense body, she misses the sadness in his eyes as he holds her close to him. What she didn't know was, from his view, the string that tied them together was bright red, the red string for soulmates. The color didn't register in her eyes, of course, so she wasn't able to perceive that their fate was to live their lives as soulmates.
Some strings that connected people weren't the same color, this anomaly wasn't common, however it wasn't unheard of. Some people saw a red line meeting to their soulmate whereas their soulmate saw the yellow string that connected best friends. Some people were so overwhelmed at the sight of their soulmate, that they would kiss the other on instinct. However, this made things awkward when strings weren't the same color for both parties. It was hard to stay friends after you put your heart on the line and your feelings weren't returned because fate seemed to have a sense of humor. This scared many people and, unfortunately, her new friend was a victim of this worry. He assumed the hug was a friend hug, he had seen enough people meet their soulmates to know this wasn't a a hug you give to a soulmate. He put on a brave smile while on the inside, his heart sat in a million pieces, shattered as his soulmate pulled away from him, asking him if he would like to grab a coffee.
~
The moon had already risen as they went for coffee, finding out each other's names and taking turns on telling the other stories. She sat opposite of him, her thoughts distracted as she wondered if the man before her was her soulmate or her best friend and at this point she was too afraid to ask. She hoped it would come to fruition, that he would give it away to her, but he never gave her any indication as to which he was for her.
She stayed quiet about her colorblindness, it wasn't something she loved talking about because most people mocked her for it. She knew no matter if he was her soulmate or her best friend he wouldn't make her feel bad for it, however the years of mockery caused her to clam up, not even feeling brave enough to tell him about it.
They talked for hours, way until the moon began sinking back to lay in a dormant state. They became fast friends, which wasn't surprising considering the circumstances. It wasn't until she let out a yawn from exhaustion that her new friend, Byeongkwan suggested they go home. He offered to walk her, since it had gotten so dark, he worried for her safety this late at night. She was hesitant, not wanting to inconvenience him, however he was insistent, almost begging her to let him walk her home, ending in her finally agreeing.
Their connection that formed was undeniable as they continued their conversations on the trip home. She continued hoping that Byeongkwan was more than her best friend, she wanted him to be her soulmate the longer she was with him the more she hoped he would reveal to be her soulmate. However, time kept passing and she had to come to terms that his lack of admittance was a good indicator that he was only her best friend. Her face showed grimness, even though she was having a great time, she forced herself to look on the bright side. She was happy to have him in her life now, no matter what string was strung across his wrist.
~
Days turned into months and months turned into years as the two continued to get closer. They had become the best of friends and both adored each other and enjoyed each other's company. However, neither one could shake the feeling that their connection was something deeper than only being best friends. In reality, the connection WAS deeper, but neither one was brave enough to make a move.
It should've been painfully obvious to her when Byeongkwan introduced her to his friend Seyoon. Byeongkwan and Seyoon were close, close enough that it was obvious to anyone looking at first glance they had a yellow string tying the two together, making them best friends. And yet, her and Byeongkwan never discussed the colors of their string, no matter how much they both wanted to bring it up they didn't and decided to stay silent.
~
She continued to stay focused on her career, wondering about the string that connected her and Byeongkwan, but staying focused enough to move up in the corporate world. She was now one of the members of the board for her company, now handling most of the business affairs and relationships with the company's partners. She, also, worked hard in earning new partners to further benefit her company's assets.
She was currently visiting Sun Inc., discussing a business proposal with the CEO of the company and all his closest associates. She had worked up the proposal and had familiarized herself with Sun Inc. and its business practices, knowing that both businesses could benefit from the other. She weighed the pros and cons and even presented both in the meeting, impressing Mr. Lee, the CEO of Sun Inc, ending in him promising to get in touch with the company soon to discuss a partnership.
She left the meeting with a smile, her hands clasping together to keep herself from flailing in excitement. She looks down to her hands, feeling their tight grasp on each other, but her attention shifts. Her body tenses and her eyes widen as she watches the string not connected to Byeongkwan lay slack against her wrist. Her eyes follow the string as it reaches a new person, her adrenaline skyrockets as she looks at the woman who's back was facing her.
The woman dressed in business attire, a pencil skirt hugging her thin frame with a matching suit coat. She wore heels that made her taller , even though it was easy to tell she was tall without them. Her shoulder length brown hair shone under the artificial lights of the bulbs above her. She was talking to a man, that man being the CEO of the company.
She watches the pair converse, her head tilting as she notices Mr. Lee's hand around the woman's waist. It was clear to see that they were most likely together as the woman handed him the folder in her hand, whispering in his ear in the process. Mr. Lee winks at the woman with a smirk adorning his face before walking back to an office that appeared to be his own.
The string attaching the two compelled her to walk towards the woman, her feet leading her on their own accord. She approached her without much time to think of a conversation starter and watches as the young woman lifts her head to meet her eyes. The Woman's eyes hid behind a pair of glasses that framed her face, enhancing the beautiful color speckled in her irises. Both heads look down to their wrists seeing them connected by the thin string bowed at the wrists. The two look back up with gleeful smiles, no words spoken for a moment as they feel nervousness and excitement flow throughout their bodies.
"It's been a long time." The woman laughs as she steps closer, holding her hand out to view the string better.
"It has." She laughs, her hand mimicking the woman's to hold it out to view the string's connection in a fuller view.
"I'm actually on break, would you like to grab a bite?" The woman asks abruptly, excitement evident in her voice.
She nods in agreement, no awkwardness hanging in the air as the two walk together to a small restaurant next to Sun Inc.
~
Upon entering the restaurant the delicious smells from the food greet us, the atmosphere pleasant as the woman leads the two to a table, one she seemed to frequent.
As expected they became fast friends, the fate of string proving true once again, a break in conversation gives her a moment for her thoughts to drift to the string. She looks down, watching the string from her wrist trail to her new friend's.
"I'm colorblind." She lets out, her voice barley above a whisper as her heart beats in her chest, avoiding eye contact.
"I never would've guessed." The woman smiles, her voice soft as she waits in quietness, however that silence was comfortable.
"I have never been able to tell the difference between my soulmate string and my best friend string." She continues as her heart calms to its usual beat. "I met a boy two years ago. I wasn't sure what he was to me and I assumed the string around our wrists we were yellow"
"But, it's our strings are yellow." She states more than asks as she finishes her train of thought.
"You did meet my husband." The woman laughs. "I sure hope our strings are yellow."
She laughs at Mrs. Lee's bluntness, nodding in agreement. Her heart speeds up as she stares at the string connecting her to Byeongkwan, her thoughts on him being her soulmate making her feel nervous and excited. The worry she felt about his string was great, what if it wasn't yellow? This concern filled her, however she felt such a deep connection with him, one she felt could only come from a soulmate that she decided to throw caution to the wind. Her heart rate quickened, making her stand, catching the attention of her stringed best friend.
"I am so sorry, I have to go." She announces, grabbing Mrs. Lee's hand, their yellow strings twisting together. "I will call you."
"Go get him, girl." Her friend winks, picking up on the situation from the pieces she had heard.
She nods, rushing out of the restaurant with her heartbeat in her ears as she runs though the crowds of people on the sidewalk. She knew where he was, they had talked about their plans for the day which gave her an exact location on him. Her lungs burned from the extensive use on them and her legs felt exhausted as they carried her through the busiest part of the day.
She reaches a small coffeeshop, the coffeeshop that they had first visited together the first day after finding each other. It became a frequented establishment of theirs and didn't get their coffee from anywhere else after that moment. She pushes through the double doors, the bells ringing overhead announcing a customer's arrival. Her eyes scan the shop before finally landing on him, his head looking down at his phone as he sips coffee from his free hand. She walks up to him, his eyes meeting hers as she approaches his table.
He smiles at her as he asks. "How'd the meeting go?"
The question goes unanswered as she reaches him. Her hands waste no time in taking his cheeks to pull him closer to her as her lips find his, eyes closing tightly as she relishes the feeling of his lips on hers. He squeaks in surprise, his body tensing underneath her palms. It takes him a moment to come to his senses and reciprocate the kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her body against the chair he was sitting in.
The world seemed to fade as the two stayed lip locked, it was like a scene from a romantic movie except instead of the patrons of the coffeeshop cheering for the new couple, the murmured in confusion as they watch the two. The two pull away, their eyes taking a longer time to open as the feelings following the kiss lingered. Byeongkwan tries to stutter through words as his face brightens in color.
"I'm colorblind." She tells him in a hushed tone, her breathing labored from the intensity of the kiss.
Byeongkwan's eyes shift, holding a deep emotion in them as he stares at her. "Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I...” She look away from him, embarrassment flooding her. His hands reach up to encase hers that rested on his cheeks, her looking into his worried filled eyes. “I got scared.” She finishes, avoiding his eyes after her confession.
“I want to make up for lost time and very badly want to kiss you for hours.” He confesses, making her gasp in shock. “But we both have work”
“I can finished for the day.” She smiles at him, his body tensing at her words.
“I can make some calls.” He says as he stands. “I will be at your place in thirty and your lips aren’t getting a break.”
Excitement fills her as she nod, watching him leave the coffeeshop. Her hand rests on her chest, feeling her heart work overtime as she replays the events that took place. She follows Byeongkwan's instructions, making her way home, preparing herself for a long night to make up for lost time.
Teach Me (Hoshi)
Title: Teach Me
Pairing: Reader x Hoshi (SEVENTEEN)
Genre: Fluff/teaching to dance
Word count: 752
Writers: Lio & Ju
A/N: This was a request we had by our lovely supportive anon 🍀🌺 :) Enjoy! ~ Lio & Ju
"Hoshi, no. You know I can't dance." I protest as he drags me to an empty practice room away from the rest of the boys.
Hoshi and I had been dating for two years now, our relationship something I cherished. I had been in many relationships over the years, but none were as meaningful to me as my relationship with Hoshi. In all honesty, I didn't deserve him. But everyday he bent over backward for me and showed me more love and care than I knew what to do with. And I tried my best to give him the same amount of love and gratitude, if not more.
"You're a fast learner though, sweetie." He smirks, his dark eyes twinkling with laughter and a hint of teasing.
"That doesn't mean much." I retort, putting my hands on my hips.
Hoshi just chuckles and takes my wrists in his hands, his thumb gently tracing them as he steps closer to me. He places a sweet kiss on my forehead, making me smile despite myself. He pulled away slowly, meeting my eyes once more.
"We'll take the moves nice and slow and I'll teach you something easy." He promises, his voice soft. "Just try it?"
I let out a defeated sigh, knowing I couldn't say no to him. Especially when he gave me the pouting eyes he was right now.
"Okay, okay." I sigh, accepting his lessons. "But don't laugh at me when you see how uncoordinated I am."
Hoshi throws his head back and laughs, a sound that was just as pretty to me as his voice was whenever he sang. Whether that be on stage with his members, or softly to me late at night when I couldn't fall asleep.
He kisses my lips quickly before pulling his phone out and finding the right song he was looking for. It pulses through his phones speakers at a steady beat.
"Lets listen to the song once so you know it and then I'll start teaching you the basic moves, okay?" He says, his eyes shining with excitement.
I nod my head, "Okay."
I take in a deep breath as I listen to the beginning beats of the song, a pattern that was familiar and easy making my nerves calm a bit.
Hoshi's smile was wide as he watches my face, his eyes dancing in mischief.
"What is that face for, Soonyoung?" I smile at him just before the familiar words of a famous kid song blasts through the speakers.
"Hoshi! Why 'Baby Shark'?!" I groan, my hands pushing against my face as I feel my foot tapping to the beat.
"It's a fun dance and it's really easy! Plus, if you danced it for little kids they'd adore you!"
I laugh at his reasons, watching him begin to move to the song, his steps cute and light and manageable for me.
"Hoshi." I lower my voice to sound threatening, however it only comes out with amusement as I watch the man in front of me do his best cute face to match his movements.
"Please, Sweetie, no one else will dance this with me." He sticks out his bottom lip, his pleading already beginning.
I roll my eyes with a smile, nodding to him as the song finishes and goes on repeat, the deceiving intro sounding through the room again.
"Okay, follow my lead."
He moves his hands in a cute way , his movements easy to follow even as he introduces his feet into the choreography. I laugh as I follow the movements, mine matching Hoshi's more than I expected them to. It only took a couple runs through the song for me to catch on, an excitement running through me at learning my first choreography. Hoshi goes to stop the music, turning towards me with a big smile on his face.
"Do you think you're ready for a Seventeen choreography now?" He teases, stepping closer to me to wrap his arms around my waist.
"I think I need a bit more practice with 'Baby Shark'." I tease back, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"I don't know you are my best student, I think you could tackle it."
We smile at each other for a few seconds before leaning in to kiss each other, our mouths molding together in a sweet kiss that was short.
"Do you think the rest of the guys would be impressed?" I ask him, my lips brushing against his with each word.
"They would be astounded."
In All The Excitement
Title: In All The Excitement
Pairing: Donghun (A.C.E) x Reader
Genre: Fluff; Football AU
Word Count: 652 Words
Writer: Whattodowithkpop (Lio)
Summary: As the star quarterback, Donghun helps his team win the big game that will send them to the championship. In all the excitement he makes a bold move.
******
The high school band begins to play the school's pride song loudly. The trumpets sounding throughout the stadium, the drums making it feel like the field was vibrating. The cheers were loud, but they only increased when the players took the field.
The music increased as the boys ran out onto the field, running around and hyping their fellow students. I smile as I watch their quarterback walk out of the tunnel.
Our star quarterback. He already had paid scholarships to all the best football schools, he was set to go to the big leagues and he was what put our school on the map.
I was the head cheerleader. I was also the star quaterback’s best friend. When he arrived on the field his eyes trailed to me, his smile widening along with mine. I wiggle my pom pom’s teasingly making him drop his head to smile at the ground.
This was the game that would determine if our football team would go to the national championship. It was a big deal for not only our school but for Lee Donghun, the star quarterback, as well.
I was nervous and excited as I went through my routines, glancing at Donghun every once in awhile to make sure he was okay. He was very calm and collected, going over his drills diligently. I smile to myself, relaxing. He was the last person I needed to worry about being nervous, he was going to win this game.
~
The other team was also in line for the national championship, so they were hard to compete against. It was the fourth quarter, the two minute warning having just sounded. The crowd was still cheering, but you could feel then tension in the air. The score was 28-31 the opposing team was winning. Donghun had the ball and was down at the 15 yard line.
Everyone watched with baited breath with each pass that Donghun made. The crowd was deathly quiet, only a few cheers sounding out occasionally. It was down to the final chance. Fourth down had come and Donghun had one last chance to make it to the end zone and tie up the game.
He threw the ball, aiming for his trusted tight end, Kim Seyoon. It felt as time had slowed as the whole stadium watched the ball spiral. It reaches Seyoon's hands as he jumps for it. His body falls from the momentum, his side hitting the turf roughly. It felt like an eternity straining to see if he had successfully recovered with the ball.
Cheers sound throughout the crowd, he had caught it.
I scream and jump up, celebrating as I watch the team do the same. The offense exits the field as special teams take it. We were one field goal from the championships. The wind was the only sound heard as the ball is kicked barreling towards the goal posts. It glides through the middle perfectly, sealing the win for our team.
Everyone stands, screaming in excitement as the the team hugs each other. I spot Donghun in the middle of the hug. He meets my eyes smiling widely as he makes his way over to me. He runs up to me and picks me up, his arms supporting my lower back as he spins me, making me squeal in excitement. He places me down, grabbing my face with both of his hands. His lips meet mine in a breathtaking kiss. I freeze, my pom pom's dropping from my hands as I reach my arms up to wrap around his neck. I stand on my tip toes pushing our lips further together. The cheers drowned out as it felt like it was just us two in this moment. The feeling only lasted until he pulls away, his forehead resting against mine.
"Congratulations." I tell him, laughing.
"Thank you." He whispers before leaning back in for another kiss.
Teaching Korean (A.C.E Scenario)
Title: Teaching Korean
Pairing: A.C.E x Reader
Writer: Whattodowithkpop [Lio]
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 697
Summary: How they would help their girlfriend learn some more Korean.
*****
Chan
Chan was so excited when she asked him to teach her Korean. She had tried learning on her own and was just having trouble figuring things out. She had asked Chan in the hopes he could teach her the most important things.
Chan had come prepared, even dressing the part as a teacher. He had brought books, papers, pens, everything a teacher would need. It made her laugh when she saw him, thinking it was cute he was going all out.
He sat next to her, going over some of the most used words and helping her pronounce each syllable correctly.
She could always tell when she said the word incorrectly, because he would laugh quickly, a smile glued to his face as he tried to hold his snickers.
All in all, Chan is a good teacher, he laughs at every little mistake, but once he calms down he is diligent in making sure she gets it right!
Donghun
She really didn’t want to ask Donghun, cause she knew he was so busy, but when she told him she wanted to get a Korean teacher to help her perfect her Korean, he offered to help instead. She hesitated, worried about his current schedule, but when he assured he would be okay, she agreed.
Donghun was very calm and very patient in his teachings. He never made her feel bad if she made a mistake and he always corrected her gently.
He was very serious about it, but he couldn’t stop a smile on his face when she got the hard questions right. He would feel proud and most likely end up giving her kisses after hard questions because he couldn’t help it.
It was definitely good for moral.
Byeongkwan
Byeongkwan was very excited that she had asked for his help. He hid it well, but on the inside his heart and stomach were jumping for joy. He made learning the material fun and he always had incentives to persuade her into the correct answers.
He had a prizing system. If she got the question right on the first try she got her favorite snack. Second try she got a kiss. Third she got a head pat and so on. Little to Byeongkwan’s knowledge she preferred the kisses so would intentionally get the answers wrong the first time so she could get a kiss instead.
Once Byeongkwan figured this out and changed the prizing system, her lessons went much more smoothly.
Jun
He was so nervous that he wouldn’t be of any help. He wanted to teach her the best way he could, but he’s never had teaching lessons, what was he supposed to do?
He didn’t voice these worries to her and played it off like it was going to be the best class she ever attended, but deep down he was panicked.
It was painfully obvious he was nervous and it showed during his teachings. It took him some time to get comfortable, but once he did, her learning picked up immensely.
Jun would take her on a lot of field trips, forcing her to use her new knowledge in a real setting, which helped her retain more. She messed up a few times and the locals would laugh at her cuteness, Jun would smile along with them. He made the class fun and with each one his confidence grew, so each class got better and better.
Seyoon
Seyoon had a hard time believing she even needed his help, her Korean was already so good. But when she begged him for his help he reluctantly agreed. He didn't even know what he would teach her, she knew so much already and she studied so well on her own.
The first class was a bit rough, seeing as Seyoon really didn't know what he was doing. He started asking her questions, figuring out where she needed help or improvement and went from there.
The lessons got more and more interactive, using movies and songs as a lot of homework and mostly excuses just to have date nights, but she didn't complain.
In conclusion, she probably wouldn’t learn a whole lot, but she definitely would have fun.
Drinking With Cupid Part II (Chan)
Title: Drinking With Cupid Part II
Pairing: Chan x Reader
Genre: Angst; Fluff
Word Count: 5,159 Words (all parts)
Writer: Whattodowithkpop [Lio]
A/N: I think I have seen a movie or tv show with a similar concept to this, but if I have, I don't remember for certain. I was also inspired by the song 'Drinking With Cupid' by VOILÀ. This is for the@acewriters writing event. *****
The day had finally arrived, their first anniversary, the anniversary of the day they met at Cupid's party in the hallway of a venue neither one expected to find each other at. A lot had progressed for the couple, having become official shortly after their first date, meeting friends and parents and being adored by everyone involved. However, there was still the matter of Chan being Cupid that hadn't been discussed. He had put it off time and time again as all his fear of past relationships resurfaced and made him too self conscious to admit.
After the wonderful year had passed for Chan, he was left with that constant worry that this was going to be another devastating heartbreak, one that was destined for failure from the start. He couldn't shake that feeling, the fear plaguing his heart as he fell for her more and more. He had one thing he had to do, one thing he always promised himself he wouldn't do. Run his own numbers with hers.
She too had her fear, the memory of her past fiancé haunted her, however she loved Chan, and she was confident he was different, confident he wouldn't do that to her. He had told her his stories of his past relationships and how they scarred him and she knew he knew how it felt to love someone for so long and for it to end in despair. Her purpose changed in the year she met Chan, her plan to take down Cupid was on the back burner as she was too consumed in her own happiness to care what happened to the algorithm. She still disagreed with its philosophy, however she had something else to occupy her time with, something she could pour her love and energy into. Chan.
However, little did she know, that her fight with Cupid's algorithm wasn't over and that she was about to face it head on.
~
Chan arrived to the restaurant first, taking his seat at the reserved table as he awaited her arrival. He was there early, so he didn't mind the wait, however his impatience to tell her his findings on the secret numbers he ran lessened his focus.
He was thankful he didn't have to wait long as he saw her enter into the dark atmosphere of the restaurant, the darkness complimenting her dress as it flowed to the floor, covering up the heels she wore, the heels that held a familiar sound to them as she crossed the foyer to their table. Chan felt underdressed as he inspected her outfit, even though he was in a crisp black suit with a white button up, his black tie being a gift from an investor who was quite wealthy. Next to her he felt that no one could be on par with her beauty or grace. He greeted her with a kiss, his lips lingering on hers as he was captivated by her beauty, forgetting everything else in the world. She's the one that pulls away with a giggle, her arms on his shoulders as she stares into his eyes.
"There is plenty time for that later, Yuchan." She whispers, kissing his cheek before taking her seat, leaving a stunned Chan to recollect his thoughts before sitting across from her.
The waiter that assisted her to their table asked if they wanted wine, to which they agreed and Chan picked out. It was a big night for both of them, however they had different reasons as to why.
"I have something I need to tell you." Chan speaks up, his heart in his ears as he feels as if a rock was sitting in his stomach, making him feel sick.
"I do too." Her smile was a sharp contrast to his nervous facial expression.
Chan takes in a shaky breath as he looks down to his hands, making her worry for him, her smile dropping.
"Chan, are you okay?"
He keeps his head down, tears sitting on the brims of his eyes as his lip begins to quiver. In a shaky voice he responds. "Our numbers aren't compatible."
The soft music that was playing in the restaurant seemed to deafen against her ears as his words bounced in her head. Her heart clenched in pain, her hand pressing against her chest as pain shoots through it.
"I'm Cupid." Chan continues, his eyes still downcast, oblivious to the physical pain he was putting her through. "I ran our numbers because I thought they'd be high, I was so sure we were perfect together and it had a low compatibility rating."
When Chan looks up his eyes widen in concern, standing from the table he runs to her side, crouching next to her as he grasps her free hand in his to try and comfort her in some way. Steady tears streamed down her face as her inhales and exhales were shallow and shaky.
"This whole thing is about Cupid's algorithm?" She choked out, her broken voice making Chan's heart break as he began to regret what he had done.
"My numbers are only in Cupid because I got matched three years ago to the man I got engaged to that later cheated on me before our wedding." Her tears heavier as her words began to sound more like sobs. "He laid there in bed with someone else and said your exact same words. **Our numbers aren't compatible.** And here you are saying the same?"
Chan felt more pain strike his heart as she cried, her sobs quiet, but loud enough to catch the attention of some of the patrons in the establishment.
"I'm so sorry."
With those words he left, fear and guilt plaguing him and causing his chest to swell and his heart to palpitate. The walls felt as if they were closing in on him and he needed to escape, so he ran, leaving her crying with money for the check on the table.
~
Byeongkwan watches his friend cry, the scene familiar to him as he hears her soft sobs even with her face stuffed in his couch cushion. His heart ached for her, however his anger blazed against the one that caused it. He was so happy for her, her goals in life changing as she got to know Chan more, her desire for revenge dwindling until it was non-existent, his heart swelling as she moved on. And here it was, all crashing down around her, harder than even her first heartbreak with her fiancé. Byeongkwan stood helplessly by as he did his best to care for her as she tried to nurse her broken heart.
Byeongkwan wasn't surprised when he got a call from Chan, especially seeing her phone was off there was no way he could reach her. However, he was expecting his words to be for her to come get her things from his apartment and that he wanted all remnants of her gone from his life.
"How is she?"
Those were his first words, no hello, no acknowledgement toward Byeongkwan at all. He wanted to be happy about this, that Chan seemed to still care for her, however, one man's care wasn't going to be enough to heal her.
"How do you think she is?"
Byeongkwan's words were like venom, his tolerance for Chan at a zero as her sobs traveled through the phone line, loud and clear for Chan to hear, his heart breaking at the sound.
"I was an idiot, I didn't think things through, I got caught up in myself and my own fee-"
Byeongkwan cuts him off, not wanting being the in-between for the two.
"I'm not the one you should be telling that to."
With that, Byeongkwan ended the call, not wanting to hear another word from the boy as he went back to his friend, who had fallen asleep, much to Byeongkwan's relief. He loves her, but anyone would get tired of hearing the deep sobs of a heartbroken girl for hours on end. He covered her the rest of the way, fixing her hair so it would pull away from tear stained cheeks and give her some air. He sighs, leaving for his room to get some sleep himself, sleep overtaking him as soon as his head hits the pillow.
~
"You're an idiot." Donghun states with bluntness with a deadpan expression.
"I know!" Chan cries, his head falling into his hands.
"I told you you needed to tell her."
"I know, Donghun. I messed up."
"And how are you going to fix it?"
Chan looked up to his friend, his mouth hung open in shock as Donghun's face stays stoic, waiting for an answer.
"This isn't something you fix. I took the most beautiful thing I had and crushed it."
"A year ago, the most beautiful thing in your life was Cupid. You would spend your days and nights pouring your energy into this project and you receive no benefit for it, except a pile of riches that does you no good."
Chan looks up to Donghun, his eyes filled with tears as he hears his friend's words.
"You spent your days and nights pouring your love for her out and receiving the same, if not more, love from her and here you sit feeling sorry for yourself instead of fixing the one good thing you had."
Chan felt guilt rush through him as the images of her crying in the restaurant reenter his mind, his heart aching at the memory of hearing her cry over Byeongkwan's phone.
"I don't know how to fix it."
"Then you need to spend the time and energy to think of way to fix it. It's what you did before and this means a lot more."
Chan knew Donghun was referencing Cupid. When Chan looked at his failed relationships, his way of coping with it was Cupid. She brought him out of the rut he had put himself in with spending all his days on Cupid. He knew Donghun was right, he had to fix it. Chan came to, opening his mouth to thank Donghun before realizing he was already gone, leaving Chan to think for himself. It didn't take a genius to know what had to happen, however, it would be one of the hardest things Chan would have to do.
~
A week passed and she was still on Byeongkwan's couch, feeling the pain just as strong as she felt it at the restaurant. She thought she knew true heartbreak, but nothing prepared her for the pain she felt now. She avoided all of Chan's calls, even asking Byeongkwan to avoid them also, not wanting any connections left leading her to Chan. She was looking through her phone, the pictures of her and him haunting her as she tired to will herself to delete them, however her heart couldn't bring her to do it, thus resulting in more tears. She sniffles as she hears her name from Byeongkwan's room before hearing a commotion as he reveals himself in the doorway.
"You need to turn on the tv." He says, grabbing the remote to flip on the tv, a news story playing. She feels sadness as she reads the headline, 'Cupid's CEO calls for press conference.'
"Byeongkwan, I don't want to see anything about Cupid or anything associated with Chan." She chokes out, bringing the blanket over her head to block out the screen.
"I would never make you watch something that would hurt you more."
She waits a few moments before dropping the blanket, her tears already streaming as Chan comes to the podium. Cameras flash as they take his pictures while reporters begin asking questions, all of them asking if he was the CEO.
"My name is Kang Yuchan and I am the creator of Cupid." Chan states waiting as the reporters murmur and more cameras flash. "I created Cupid three years ago when I experienced heartbreak after heartbreak. I felt there should have been a way to predict how compatible you were with someone, a way to confirm you were dating the right person. This algorithm has worked for so many people and has helped thousands of couples find their other half. I was so thrilled to see so many people finding love all thanks to Cupid's algorithm. I thought that numbers and percentages were the only way for someone to find true love."
Chan looks down at the podium he stood upon, composing himself before looking back up to address the camera and reporters again.
"A year ago I met someone. Someone who made me unafraid to love that made me forget my philosophy based on numbers. I fell in love by meeting her and then going on dates with her and meeting her family, friends and hearing her embarrassing stories."
She let out a crying laugh, remembering all the stories they both heard about each other.
"I forgot all about percentages, until the night before our anniversary. I got caught up in numbers and compatibility, I got consumed with the facts and figures and I got so scared of giving my heart to her completely even when I knew all she would do was keep it safe."
She looks to Byeongkwan, sobs racking her body as she begs him to turn it off as she feels her heart break more. Byeongkwan looked sorrowful at her and asked her to keep watching for a few more moments.
"I messed up and ended up breaking her heart. All because I had to run our stupid numbers to see if they were compatible. Love isn't determined by numbers or figures, it's found by realizing the best friend you grew up with has always been there for you or the barista at your local coffee shop makes you nervous because she's so cute or... it's found escorting a beautiful woman to a boring corporate party."
The silence that befalls the room was deafening, everyone waiting with bated breath for his next words.
"That is why, I am closing down Cupid."
The reporters scramble to their feet, asking questions as Chan leaves the podium, smiling to the cameras as he makes his exit off the stage.
~
A knock sounds through Byeongkwan’s apartment, the people inside knowing who was on the other side of the door. Byeongkwan stands to answer the door, giving her an encouraging look as he goes to let Chan in.
Before Chan steps fully inside, Byeongkwan grabs his arm, giving him a side glance as he warns him in a low voice.
“If you break her heart more, I’ll break you.”
Chan nods in understanding as he gulps in nervousness, having seen Byeongkwan’s arms he doesn’t want to face them.
Chan enters the living room as Byeongkwan walks to his room, giving the two space. Chan’s heart speeds up when he sees her, having not seen her for a week made his heart long for her. He still thought she was stunning, even with her tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes. Her hair was a little messy and her clothes were oversized, a passing thought of them being Byeongkwan’s made him upset, however he shook the thought, knowing he wasn’t in the position to feel that way right now.
“Hey.” He greets in a quiet voice, standing in an awkward stance in the middle of the living room.
When he entered she was staring at the tv with a blank expression and even at his words she didn't move to look at him. Chan felt helpless as he looked at her, desperation filling him as he wanted her to pay attention to him, even if it wasn't the same as before.
"I..." Chan fumbles around his words, unsure what he came to say, only knowing he wanted to see her. "I shut down Cupid."
"Did you think that would earn you forgiveness?" Her words were monotone, but it chilled Chan to the core, his voice catching in his throat.
"I didn't" He whispers under his breath, his head hanging low. "It's only the start."
She jerks her head to him, seeing his eyes trained on the floor as he nibbles his bottom lip.
"But for me to prove myself to you beyond this I have to have your second chance."
His eyes met hers, filled with hope and longing that made her chest tighten. She had missed him and she wanted to forgive him. She got off the couch, running to him to wrap her arms around his neck, her head resting on his shoulder as she felt tears soak his shirt. He held her tight, his nose on her neck, getting traces of her perfume that he loved so much.
"I'm so sorry I hurt you." He whispers. "I never want to see you hurt again."
His arms tightened around her at those words, his smile wide at her being in his arms again.
