i haven't talked to her in daysssss (five whole days) i miss them :(

i listened to so many podfics and i have even more open in my tabs alksjdfaskl;fjaej i found this one reader that i'm really enjoying and they made hundreds of podfics so 👀 (i just checked it's 1.7k fics oh my goodness)(i just found another good one typing this aklsdfja;s)

i played minecraft while i listened!!! i had fun running around doing Not Much :D i also have a big tree growing i'm sooo excited to see it + the surrounding ground

Not the podfic anon but in general podfic are audiobooks of fics someone goes reads them out loud and sometimes adds things like music and sound effects and character voices sometimes does a straight read and then posts to ao3 so essentially they’re just reading your fic out loud blanket statements are things you put in your profile that outline what you’re okay having happen to your fic so it’s like ��feel free to do x’ ‘you can do this but not this’ or ‘ask permission first’ I’d check out reena_jenkins for some examples I think she has a miraculous one to

Podfics?? I've listened to a few and always enjoyed reading aloud, but don't know much more than that.

Here is the AO3 tag for Podfics. This is the now-defunct (sigh, sob) Jinjurly Audiofic Archive - but you can still find a lot of gems over there.

If you want to hear podficcers nerd out, you might want to listen to Behind the Pod (link goes to the AO3 profile for this series of talks about podfic).

Are you interested in podficcing yourself? Podficcing: where to start. But don't let the amount information overwhelm you, as long as you have a phone or computer that can record, you can do podfic.

SERIOUSLY. This story is written, thus narrated, in the pov of Derek Hale, who is in full-wolf shifted form the majority of the time. The wolf goes through hell and experiences multiple states of mind in the course of the story - different levels of awareness of the world around him, different emotional states, etc., and Reena does justice to it all.

This is a tale with a lot of humor but also a certain deal of angst, including mentions of self-harm, and inhabiting the pov of wolf!Derek is not without emotional danger. Reena's voice in my ear makes this a more intense experience than reading the story was (this is highly subjective, of course). It's a whole deeply felt journey with highs and lows, and the wide-ranging performance beautifully covers all the moods of the story, passing either subtly or abruptly (depending on what is required) from humor to melancholy, from sadness to hope, from anguish to joy, relief, or wry observations. Every character's dialog is distinctly its own, too — there's quite a bit of dialog, it's not all internal thoughts from Derek — and Reena's really great at it. There's never any doubt as to who is speaking, Stiles' bright and rapid-fire, the Sheriff's wry or put-upon demeanor, etc. I always enjoy stories of found families, and this is definitely a poignant, most satisfying example of the genre. It's also, of course, a "boy and his dog" story, and those who like that sort of things will surely delight in Stiles' determination and Derek's wolf feelings. For me, this is a comforting, snuggly podfic, but one that still demands that I be in the right state to handle it, because the wolfy pain is sometimes too hard to bear. Or it'll make me cry a good cathartic cry! It all depends :) Yet I want to reiterate that there is a lot of joy and humor in it, too. The story flows out smoothly, Reena seems utterly comfortable in narrating and expressing the myriad moods of the whole thing — it's simply gorgeous. It's a podfic that will break your heart and put it back together in the most beautiful way. I hope you'll give it a listen <3 Fanwork Link(s): here on AO3
