waking up to an empty bed wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for you. being a part of a group, as well as the leader, meant that jaebeom always had something to do - whether that was practice, go to a schedule or make music. what was out of the ordinary was that today was supposed to be his day off. the one day that he gets to lie in. you sighed and got out of bed to look for him. 

you found him in the make-shift studio in your home. he was wearing headphones and didn’t notice you walk in until you tapped him gently on the back. jaebeom turned around, surprised to find you there.

“baby, what are you doing out of bed?” he asked as he took of his headphones and placed them on the table.

“i should be asking you that question,” you say. “have you been in here all night?” 

jaebeom hadn’t gone to sleep at the same time as you, telling you there was some things he needed to work on before bed. you’d made him promise to be in bed by one, but looking at him and all the mugs surrounding him, you knew he’d been awake all night. he was even wearing the same clothes as yesterday.

“i found inspiration for a new song and i had to work on it,” he explained.

“can you come to bed? you need to sleep.”

“in a little while. i just need to finish this.”

“im jaebeom! you will get your ass to bed now!” you shouted and stomped your foot like a little child. he turned around and raised an eyebrow at you, holding back his laughter. you never called him by his full name unless he was in trouble, (which he was in right now), but you standing there in your pyjamas, stomping your foot was an amusing sight.

he grabbed your hand and pulled you onto his lap. without saying a word, he put the headphones on you and pressed play on the computer in front of you. you recognised the melody that was playing. 

“that’s what i made up yesterday. it’s beautiful,” you whispered, taking off the headphones. you’d made up a song about how pretty jaebeom’s eye moles were and he’d managed to turn it into something more beautiful.

“you are my muse,” he said, grinning at your positive reaction.

“i love you but that was cheesy. never say it again.” laughing, he agreed. “will you please come to bed now?”

“let’s go,” he agreed. jaebeom let you lead the way even though he knew where your room was. as soon as his head hit the pillow, he was out like a light. it hurt you to see him work so hard but you knew he loved what he was doing. it made you proud to see him make a name for himself and his group. you pulled the blanket over him and kissed his forehead, leaving him to finally get his much needed rest.
