June 14th | 17 years old | 162 cm

•Intro: A magicless girl from another world who got dragged into Twisted Wonderland. At first, Mika wanted to get back to her world as fast as possible, but she's getting attached to people here and now she's not so sure about that... Was her life at her homeworld that good, anyway?

•Personality: Grumpy, stubborn, distrustful. Always tired and sleep-deprived. Has a soft heart she tries to protect at all costs. Kinda tsundere, has a hard time admiting her real feelings. Puts on an hostile façade and doesn't let anyone step on her. Considers herself the only normal person here, though people do not agree with her opinion lol.

•Hobbies: Reading, watching anime, designing clothes.

•Pet Peeves: Physical contact.

•Favorite Food: Cheesecake.

•Talent: Getting dragged into trouble. Apart from that, she's great at Scrabble-like games.

•Trivia:

-Loves space-related stuff. She's fascinated to learn about a new star system.

-Sings really well. She's not aware of that.

-Actually enjoys taking photos and is quite good at it. Nonetheless, she always forgets where did she put the ghost camera so she takes them with her mobile most of the time.

-Wants to dress like a gothic princess, though she'd never admit it out loud.

•Notes: While I call her my Yuusona, she's not a persona nor a self-insert, she's just an OC. I will be self-indulgent though and throw her into board games club so she can spend more time with my two favs lol. Ngl I'm not fond of the "only girl at all-boys school" trope but I headcanon gender is an invent here at Sage's Island so I can shamelessy throw my girl at NRC.

March 21st | 17 years old | 164 cm

•Intro: A girl who goes to the all-girls college equivalent to NRC/RSA.

•Personality: She has severe social anxiety and isn't able to talk to strangers nor defend herself under normal circumstances. Nonetheless, she's quite a hater on the inside and has a lot of rage accumulated, which she expresses online. She's naturally not a very expressive person, which makes her look really aloof. Lily is perfectly fine with that since it keeps people at a distance.

•Hobbies: Videogames, making cosplay props, ranting online.

•Pet Peeves: People talking before informing themselves about the topic first.

•Favorite Food: Pomegranate candy.

•Talent: Doing research online. Great at finding rare items in online stores.

•Trivia:

-Met Idia at a niche online game years ago and have been talking intermittently ever since. Even when they lose contact for a while, they always ended up reconnecting. It seems they have been talking often lately. While she has little chill online, he finds her toxic gamer rage hilarious.

-Always types via chat in online games, never voicecalls.

-She usually has a poker face. She may be at full blown panic mode and nobody will notice.

-Has braces!

•Notes: Ngl I was feeling like creating a gf for Idia and so I did lol. While polar opposites are fun, I think he'd end up with someone who's just as messy as him; I still made them opposites in some ways tho, for example he's highly expressive, so I made Lily the opposite of that. I like to think she's in the board games club of her school and meets him at an interscholastic tournament, though of course she won't know she has met her online crush irl until much later.

*In her picture, Lily is wearing her college uniform. It's inspired by magical girls! I was trying different color palettes and this one reminded me of the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella so much lol I thought it fitted a lot so I went for it. I will try to show the whole uniform soon!

✦ Alternative Universes ✦

•Main AU: Mika takes the place of Yuu as the magicless human who got dragged into Twst. It's canon-divergent since Mika's actions and relationships with the characters are different from the main game, though all the important events still happen in a similar manner. Lily exists in this universe, though she appears very little.

•All-girls school AU: In this universe, Mika is a mage native from Twst who goes to an all-girls magic college. She meets Lily at the BG club of their college where they develop a friendship. The events of the main game still happen, though Yuu's place is taken by my OC Yumi, who I will present at a later date.

The ship names I came up for Effie x Lily are loveflower or flowertalker or florist. I like more the first one. (Also the talker thing is bc Euphemia means "The one who talks")

Anyway, thinking about them again. But the others reaction. (The alive ones)

Remus notices first. Because– of course he does, he was one of Lily's closest friends, and had a GREAT relationship with the Potters after James asked the Marauders to go at his home during a summer break. He feels a bit... weird about it at first, but at least, two people he cares about dearly are moving on & loving again.

Mary. She almost obliviated herself, but choose not to so she could help her best friend. It took her some way to notice, truly. But honestly, her friend was still too young to be grieving forever, and if Euphemia fell in love again, great! Such a good person as her deserves it, to be loved.

Harry always kinda know. Truly, he didn't really remembered much from his father & grandfather, so seeing Effie & Lily as his mothers wasn't weird as a kid. As he grows older? A little, but he loves his mothers and will argue with anyone in Hogwarts who tries to say something.

When Harry is around 10 yo, Lily & Euphemia marry. It's a small event, with close people like Remus, Mary, Harry and Minerva (+ their 2 cats).

Of course, since in this world it's a thing everyone knows that LILY EVANS-POTTER KILLED VOLDEMORT, she's respected. And when someone discovers they are married, it turns into a scandal. Because: Age Gap + Effie was Lily's mother-in-law + A WLW relationship

They make everyone shut up quickly. No one really wants their rage.

Harry's friends and collegues always ask him about it at some point. He don't really mind.

Also they would be SO lovey dovey inside Potter Manor. I hc Effie was a Quidditch player in her youth (= James obsession love for the sport) + Lily who has a bookshop !!

Like, they would be so comfy with each other. No one expected them, but after some time, after the initial shock, a lot of the wizards accept they make a lot of sense.

fighting games thoughts

so im writing this waiting for my bus to go to work but I just don't really have anyone to dump my current obsessions so I'm just gonna write here instead. a few months ago I stumbled upon a tiktok video of the game guilty gear strive, but I didn't pay much attention except the fact that the game had some really interesting characters. now, fighting games were always a part of my life, it was a way of connecting with my father since he really enjoyed them too, a few that really stood out in my childhood were killer instinct, mortal kombat (a bunch of them, but mainly the ps3 one),

street fighter, the teen titans game on the cartoon network website, anyway, I loved them. but sometime in my life I stopped playing them and forgot about it, I always saw people playing mortal kombat when the 10 released, and then when the 11 released, but it never sparkled the joy in my to play again (also this thing was expensive as fuck). a few weeks ago I stumbled upon guilty gear strive again on my tiktok, but this time since I'm working I actually have the founds to afford a game on steam lol. I looked it up about some fighting games and got interested in a few of them.. guitly gear strive, tekken 7 and street fighter 5 or 6. now, even though street fighter has some characters I really loved like chunli, cammy, menat, juri, vega, it didn't really sparked anything in me.. tekken at the time was a little strange to me since the game is in 3d and the characters kinda looked like the sims ngl, so the option i had was guilty gear strive, it had some characters I thought it looked cool like bridget, testament, i-no, axl, anji, zato-1, may, anyway, you get the point, the game was also in 2d, which was a little more comfortable to me since all the experience I had was in 2d games, it had a big community of people that could teach me and play with me, so I bought that, the expanded editions to be fancy~. the game is really fun, it has some really cool machanics and its making me see fighting games in a way I never did before, all I did before was smash as much buttons as I could and hope my opponent didn't smashed the buttons before me, but now I'm starting to understand the fundamentals.. blocking, punishing, countering, frame data and all of that, I'm not good by any means, actually I started the online part at floor 6 and now im in floor 3, but thats part of the process I guess.. the problem is, I didn't stopped searching about other fighting games, and that made me regret a bit not buying tekken 7, the community was a lot bigger, it had characters that looked cool but not in a supernatural way, in a normal fighting way, like xiaoyu, lili, leo, katarina, asuka, eddy, hwoarang, lee, zafina, anyway, the list was gigantic, so after a week of debating if I should buy tekken or not I bought it, yesterday.. I didn't had any time at all to play since im in the end of my semester and working everyday on the afternoon (I'm fucking exhausted).. (I did a pause on writing, this is two nights after I started), so.. like I said I bought tekken 7 to try out since the idea of playing was really cool, and it is really cool, but like I said I don't have any fucking time ri3848u83.. but my semester is now ending and im a little free, so I'm using this time that I have to play Yakuza 0 and guilty gear strive, today I started playing with milia rage and I'm kinda obsessed.. a woman that can fight with her hair? that's peak pop diva queer icon to me.. she's like madonna of fighting games tbh.. I'm now really invested in playing more games, I bought the Yakuza collection on gog cause it was extremely cheap and mortal kombat x + 11 at 90% discount, gotta make the pennies I got as a salary count, after that I wanna play resident evil, I used to play re4 with my cousin he was kinda obsessed so we would play a whole weekend of re4 and tony hawk's lol.. I also wanna play devil may cry which is I game I used to own but never played.. anyway I just wanted to dump all these ideas somewhere and thought maybe this is the most appropriate place? I guess..

I started to really love Harry Potter after learning about the Marauders era. I enjoyed it before, but I really fell in love with the "first" generation. And it's so bittersweet because it also breaks my heart. All my favorite characters have tragic endings. Ngl, fanfiction is such a cope and wonderland when it comes to it. It gives me the happy endings that doesn't exist in canon. It also introduced me to great, creative minds.

Is it strange to invest so much in fictional characters? I mean, it doesn't rule my life, but I feel genuine feelings when it comes to it.

When it comes to characters from the Marauders Era, we don't have much in canon because the story is very focused on Harry and his own story. Fanfic changed that. The writers were able to create so much material, so many stories. They developed this characters so much. Honestly, it's really amazing and thank God for that.

So thank you and everyone who writes and shares it, it's so much more impactful than you can imagine! ❤

Whilst I don't know the ins and outs, I definitely do have some soft spots for the maurader era.

I love the world building that has really taken form in the fandom. I really like the idea that we can all make our own little worlds of it and some people can like some so much that they accept it into their own world building.

Hell, I've made my own characters on my personal tiktok! I was inspired by the plot of Ginny getting Tom Riddles Diary and made a whole story in my head about my OC becoming a high ranking death eater and manipulated by Tom Riddle/Voldemort.

I made a OC hogwarts ghost who died from the moving stairs cases! She fell off them -because how are they not lethal-. She fancied severus but he was all about Lily. And had fun little moments that by the time the main story happens, the malfoys are reminiscing because the little ghost girl their son mentions was a kid in their year. A tragic accident to a pleasant kid. 😭

I love coming up with characters that don't really impact the main frame and take over. The idea that the stories are written with the main characters but so many are overlooked and come and go and that makes wiggle room for new ones to exist.

E.g. on my AO3 Alecto Carrow had a full family and background and the main character is her estranged kid who wasn't really important to Harry's story but her own is so fucked uo that it'd just be one of the endless fucked up stories in war.

Actually speaking of those characters, It'd actually be an idea to make fics on them woukdnt it? Since I bothered to give them full plots 😂🙈

If you're strange then I'm right there wjth you and I think several others are with you. I don't knownwhat it is about villains and minor characters but they all have an apartment in my head and they know they don't need to pay rent. 🤷‍♀️

It's the fans who really keep it alive and in the world of fiction, it can truly only get bigger!

His house is actually kind of huge, I’m glad you brought it up and kind of feel silly for forgetting lmao. He’s a ravenclaw! The first Black to ever be a ravenclaw, which is a big deal I suppose. When the hat sorted him, teachers and those who cared about pure blood drama and stuff were surprised and it kind of started a rumor about Sirius ‘cursing’ the bloodline so no Black would ever be slytherin again (factually untrue because Draco was, but it’s debated if he counts or not)

Speaking of Draco, I know you didn’t ask but, here’s how he is with his cousins!! Yippee!

Draco: he doesn’t really like Draco but Draco likes him. Romulus is a little older than him (like 1-3 years I haven’t fully decided yet ngl 😅) so he already has the age difference respect that cousins automatically give each other. Romulus thinks Draco is spoiled and overly emotional (which he is) so he annoys him but Draco is awful at reading him and doesn’t realize at all that he getting side eyed for his behavior. When they get old enough that they’re both in school is when Romulus *spells it out for him when he does something wrong and how ti be better and where Draco fights him on it a lot, he usually listens in the end.

(*Also since these are wizards and I enjoy adding accessibility into the magic system, I made up a spell that makes it so Romulus’ words can be translated into like glowing captions in front of him so he can still talk to people without them knowing sign ((his parents do though)) so that’s kind of a pun)

Luna: Romulus and Luna are ravenclaw besties and they match each others freak in the like off putting autistic child way. They understand each other in ways a lot of other people don’t and they spend a lot of time together in the ravenclaw commons and also grew up seeing each other a lot. (Romulus was homeschooled before hogwarts where Luna wasn’t so they didn’t see each other as much as they would’ve liked but still a lot)

Harry (technically): since Harry is Sirius’ godson, he’s also Romulus’ godcousin if you want to imagine Regulus and Sirius patched up their relationship (I don’t have like a ‘canon’ for that, but it’s fun to imagine either side.) on the side that they did make up then Romulus would see Harry about as much he saw Draco in childhood and kind of have similar discomfort around them as kids just because Harry is so bright and loud (we’re also pretending that Lily and James are alive because I genuinely forget they’re not sometimes) but when they’re teenagers in school together then they get along swimmingly. Romulus isn’t a prankster but he’s impartial to needless violence and has a lot of weird info and items that help mischief that help Harry but still unsettles him kind of (him and Harry are that meme where one guys like ‘I need a skull but you can’t ask what it’s for’ and Romulus gives him three options from his back pocket) And then in a world where the brothers don’t make up, pretty much the same happens except Harry is just more afraid of Romulus because he doesn’t have the previous knowledge that he’s not actually scary just quiet and off putting, but he’s a curious little guy and once he found out that Romulus was Sirius’ nephew he wanted to know him and nothing stopped him.

Traits! The thing you asked for! Got it!

Barty: well there’s the obvious moral indifference to violence and their shared intelligence in strange areas. But on a smaller level, where Romulus doesn’t feel nearly as many shifting emotions as Barty does, when he does he handles them the same way Barty would. He gets annoyed at having them at all which leads to the like second hand rage just chilling beneath his skin. Romulus has a similar reputation to the one Barty had in school, like how he’s creepy and ‘violent’ even though he’s never actually hurt anyone (Barty did back in the day tho) but there’s also a ton of misconceptions about his habits. Like he smokes nettles and drinks pepperups in a flask throughout the day to maintain his energy levels and vitamin deficiencies but to anyone who doesn’t know that it looks like he day drinks and smokes weed. And when it comes to how they treat people they love, they’re also similar in that. Where Romulus is very independent by nature, he’s just as hopelessly devoted to people he loves (platonically, or romantically) as Barty is by nature. He grew up watching Barty and Regulus be in love, of course his perception of how to treat people you hold dear is kinda strange.

Regulus: most everyone who meets Romulus who knows Regulus sees their similarities immediately. They’re both quiet, reserved, intellectual, independent, hard workers, follow the rules - ok that last one is 100% not true who said that. But yeah I think the traits people attribute to them are true, but just surface level. Yes they are both quiet and reserved, but it’s so much more layered than that. They both value the same times of when to speak up but naturally feel more comfortable not being the center of attention and have confidence in how their words have the most value and who will listen to what. Yes they’re both intellectual and hard working but it’s so far beyond that, Regulus dove into dark magic to try and counteract horcruxes back in the day, and now Romulus is stepping into territory no one else has in trying to combine two forms of creation from groups of people who try to overlap as little as possible and with full confidence that not only he can but it’s simply the next step and he’s the one taking it. They have the shared hubris of a mad scientist. And on a lighter note Romulus is also a blunt, sarcastic little shit when he wants to be and he sounds just like his father.

Who’s his favorite parent? Well thats complicated.

Barty seems to be the obvious answer. His first steps were towards Barty, his first words were to Barty, and when he was a toddler and baby he wanted to be held by Barty more often than anyone else. But Romulus clings to Regulus for understanding of the world. I headcanon Regulus as autistic, so Romulus would have inherited the gene from him, so they are literally wired the same way and interpret the world in the same way. And there’s also, when Romulus thinks of what his definition of a home is, it’s Regulus who comes to mind. But when Romulus thinks do what his definition of love is, it’s Barty.

So, no, Romulus doesn’t have a favorite parent and they would never ask him to choose obviously. But they’re competitive little shits and I think there’s a pretend feud they indulge in, especially when Romulus was younger, of getting Romulus to choose them in whatever situation. But Romulus makes it a very close race because it’s almost entirely equal.

Ooh! This is unrelated but here’s him with his aunts and uncles to tie this up!

Evan: he doesn’t see Evan very often because Evan doesn’t have kids of his own from personal choice and doesn’t really want them so he’s not as good with them as he could be, but fate apparently hates him because he’s Romulus’ favorite. Evan finds him lightheartedly creepy (like the aunt who married cousin It in Addams family found Wednesday creepy in then first movie) but he loves him a lot and thinks he’s funny. And Romulus has fun freaking him out but also genuinely feels listened to by Evan so he tells him a lot of random stuff. When Evan comes over, it’s tradition that Romulus open up with a random fact about whatever he’s getting into now and Evan nods and is like ‘cool,’ which can be kind of a silly reaction to have since the fun fact can vary between ‘did you know cogs are the bumps on gears, not the smaller ones like people think’ and ‘did you know that ostriches are sexually attracted to humans’ so that’s fun. Evan sees a lot of Barty in Romulus and thinks it’s hilarious.

Pandora: Romulus likes Pandora more as he gets older because she’s also a mad scientist and he goes to her for guidance sometimes, but he did like her when he was younger too. He never really had an interest in other kids before but when Luna was born he followed Pandora around everywhere asking about her or could be found holding her for hours. And since Pandora is Luna’s mom, she’s cool by proxy. Pandora thought this was adorable and appreciated that he would be there looking out for her in school and such. Pandora sees a lot of Regulus in Romulus and thinks it’s adorable.

Sirius: again, I don’t have a ‘canon’ idea of if the brothers get along in the universe Romulus is born in but we’re making it work. If they do get along, then Romulus freaks Sirius out and Romulus doesn’t like it so they’re not especially close. If they don’t get along, then Romulus genuinely doesn’t like Sirius because he likes his dad so why doesn’t Sirius like his dad? Sirius sees Regulus in Romulus and it makes him sad because he reminds him of the little boy he grew up with.

Narcissa and Lucious: they don’t like him. They see Barty in him and they don’t like it. They think he’s a bad influence on Draco they do not like him.

Bellatrix: she likes him a lot but she’s really overbearing and loud and kind of picks on him out of habit and he’s lightheartedly afraid of her

What would you guys say if I, hypothetically, confessed that my introduction to Bartylus as a ship was actually my own oc that was their son and literally not a day goes by where I’m not thinking about him to the point where I genuinely forgot he’s not a canon character and therefore Bartylus is also not canon because they did not canonically have him and like ten minutes ago I was drawing him and genuinely wondering why no one talks about him and now I’m very disappointed in myself for forgetting only I know he exists so of course no one talks about him

I was just wonering if you've got any particular movie/music/art inspiration in mind when you're writing for Menthol.

aaa happy new years, beloved pencil! ngl receiving this ask made me so excited and a lil emo,, it seems so personal ;-; <3

recently, @cyancherub and i have been listening to know your enemy by rage against the machine for the gang activity in the prequel – specifically delphi dogs. we've been listening to lots of 90's music to get in the menthol mood!

for aki and reader's friendship, i've been listening to as long as we're together by the lemon twigs. to me, it represents aki's feelings towards reader while they're growing up + into adulthood. the one-sided pining and heartache he'd feel watching her fall in love with other people, but he doesn't mind enduring it as long as they have each other. it may be a little delusional and unhealthy, but he's happy that way.

other songs i've been loving recently represent some side characters in the prequel – passive by a perfect circle represents naoya and the daddy issues i've assigned him. even though he's just a small part of the story, developing his character has been so much fun for me <3 other naoya songs include miss murder by afi and smile like you mean it by the killers.

another beloved side character is nomo – he's very briefly in chainsaw man, but i took his personality and interactions with aki and RAN with it, so he's basically an oc at this point. real tears have been shed over this man while we plot out menthol. the songs i listen to when characterizing him are hitchin' a ride by green day & flagpole sitta by harvey danger. nothing later than 1997 and there's a reason for that.

CASSIE AND I WATCH LOTS OF MOVIES TOGETHER & HAVE BEEN FOCUSING ON GANG/FIGHTING RELATED MOVIES TO TRY AND GET SOME MENTHOL INSPO... some movies we've watched recently are training day (2001) and southpaw (2015). personally, i've taken inspiration from all about lily chou-chou (2001) and hell dogs (2022). there's also a scene from constantine (2005) that i want to reference soo bad for the sequel... u know the one of him walking into the club...

for tv shows, i pull lots of inspiration for the gangs from daredevil (2015), mainly stuff from season three.

THIS POST IS ALREADY GETTING SO LONG AND I FEEL BAD ABOUT IT but for visual inspo, we've been considering making menthol mood-boards since the aesthetic is soo sexy. think stuff like fallen angels (1995). here are a few other pics that have menthol vibes to me in one way or another.

Lily Evans as The Girl Who Lived

i don’t know if anyone’s ever had this idea, but it was a very random thought that i immediately fell in love with. it would have a lot of kinks to work out, obviously, but here’s some of my very early thoughts on why that is an amazing concept:

Lily being brought up in a horrible Muggle home isn’t that far off from her actual childhood (especially given the strained relationship with Petunia)

she’s polite and kind just like Harry is, but also fiercely loyal and wishing to do the right thing

the freckles and ginger hair and the scar? a look tbh

Sirius and Remus taking up the roles of Ron and Hermione - her two best friends,,,, who just so happen to fall in love as their story unfolds

James is, of course, in the role of the love interest. he is Sirius’s brother, too, so how perfect is that?

[we are assuming that, perhaps, after the first war, Walburga and Orion were either killed or arrested, so Regulus and Sirius were placed in a more suitable family - the Potters (who would be, obviously, the Weasleys of this timeline). Sirius, Regulus, and James are brothers - James fitting into the role of Ginny and Regulus of Percy]

Lily befriending Remus despite him being the quiet boy everyone seems to be avoiding because of his soft, scarred face. she scolds Sirius for making fun of his scars, runs to save him from the troll without a second thought (when Remus is crying in the bathroom, because of Sirius, which probably won’t be the first time cause let’s be honest, Sirius is sometimes a bit of an asshole), and they become friends, sticking together through and through

just think of Quidditch prodigy Lily Evans. think about it

Lily rescuing James from the Chamber of Secrets. Lily slaying the Basilisk. cmon

Lily in the Triwizard tournament being absolutely badass, we all want to see it

the Yule ball? Remus looking absolutely amazing and handsome in great robes and with his hair all nicely done for once (confidence would look great on him ngl), and Sirius’s blood boiling cause Remus has a date with some older boy whom Sirius now passionately hates???

Sirius and Lily going to the ball together. because that’s the way to go about things, as friends. Sirius being a bitter young gay, Lily also having a slight crush on Remus so it’s not like she’s happy too. they just chill at the ball until Lily has to comfort Remus when he inevitably cries cause of Sirius kinda ruining his whole night

and the horcrux searching! Sirius being so unbelievably jealous about Lily and Remus, then seeing them kiss cause of the locket, destroying it in rage, doesn’t that sound like a thing Sirius would do??

not to mention,,,, Sirius with the sword of Godric,,,, hello 👀👀

the epilogue being James and Lily sending Harry to Hogwarts, the way it should’ve been,,,

it’s a very underdeveloped au, and it has a lot of plot holes (who’s the prisoner of azkaban? who’s the half blood prince? how would it fit?) but the potential is there and im just,,, in love with it

PART 1

ALL MIGHT / Toshinori Yagi

Your boyfriend had forgotten his lunch box at home again

So, like every other day that he did, you went to U.A. to go give it to him

By now, you pretty much accustomed to his schedule and knew you’re way around

Today though, something felt off…

You couldn’t tell what it was exactly but it just felt..weird? Somehow?

You went to one of the training grounds and finally found your boyfriend…

Being cornered by the league of villains

His face and arms were all bloody and dirty, you could tell he was trying to fight them off

Your hero senses immediately kicked in and you ran towards him

Then you noticed several students laying unconscious behind him

This fueled your rage and protective instincts even more

The League didn’t realize you were there until the very last second when you activated your quirk and started attacking them

Tbh All Might looked pretty relieved when you showed up

It’s as if he knew things would be ok now that you’re here to kick their asses

And kick their asses you did

Let’s just say years of training an already powerful quirk meant that you were really powerful

The lil bitches that call themselves the league of villains were not prepared for you or your quirk but they were quick to adapt

You may be strong but you were still a single person against an entire group of villains

Even still, you fended them off to the best of your abilities

What you didn’t know was that the students of 1-A still had a lot of fight in them

Those that could had quickly come to your aid and, within moments, the tide had changed to your favor

Ngl the damage you guys inflicted was pretty high and it forced Shigaraki to call for a retreat

You let out a sigh of exhaustion and relief before checking on all the students and making sure they were ok

You gave instructions for those who were injured to be taken to the infirmary and overall managed the situation pretty well

All the students were really grateful that you came and, in a way, fighting together made them feel closer to you

Once you made sure everyone was safe, you hurried over to All Might

You then proceeded to scold him for using his quirk while helping him up and bringing him to the infirmary

“Thank you though y/n…I never knew you could use your quirk so well,” he said, coughing

“Don’t mention it, I wouldn’t have let anything happen to you or the kids anyway” you replied with a smile

ERASERHEAD / Aizawa Shouta

It was another peaceful day

The sun was shining bright, birds were singing, people were smiling as they walked along the streets

Yes, it was just another peaceful day

And you were very glad that your patrol ended cuz now, you could go enjoy this peaceful day with your one and only Aizawa Shouta

Just as the thought of Aizawa crossed your mind, you heard a loud boom and several screams

Moments later, a dark figure was flung past your eyes

So much for a peaceful day

Looking over to where the figure landed, you saw none other than Aizawa

His clothes were tattered and torn, injuries were strewn all over his arms and blood trickled from the side of his head

You immediately turned to the direction he came from and stared in horror as the League of Villains battled the young students of 1-A

You heard a cough from behind you and turned to see Aizawa getting up as if he was going back to fight

You quickly ran over to his side and told him to stay put and call for backup

“I’ll fight them off for now”

He seemed reluctant to let you go but he wasn’t in much of a position to argue

So he just gave you a nod and a faint smile

With that, you rushed towards the battle, using your rinkaku (the tentacles..I dont think thats what you call em but nvm basically your quirk) to propel yourself forward

[insert intense and very cool battle scene over here because I suck at describing fights]

You and the students of 1-A managed to hold your own against the league

In fact, you guys did better than hold them off

You guys could’ve probably defeated them had they not run away when the other heroes arrived

A few of the heroes went to chase after them but you stayed behind and helped the medical team make sure everyone was ok

Once you were sure that all the students were safe and accounted for, you went off in search for Aizawa

You found him being treated by one of the medical team

Smiling in relief, you walked over to him

“Ah y/n, when were you going to tell me you look absolutely amazing when you use your quirk?”

You suddenly realized that you’ve never actually used your quirk in front of him before and blushed slightly

“Well I guess this just means there are many more things about me you still don’t know,” you said with a playful smirk which he returned

PRESENT MIC / Yamada Hizashi

It’s been forever since you and your boyfriend Yamada Hizashi went out on a date together

Work has been pretty busy lately so you two haven’t really had the time

Which is why you were so glad that the two of you were able to take the weekend off

He was the one who suggested going out for a stroll around town

“Heard about this new restaurant that has amAZINGG fried chicken”

So here you two were, sitting in a fast-food restaurant eating chicken to your hearts’ content

You felt slight vibrations and tremors but dismissed it thinking it was probably the construction happening down the street

However, when you heard several screams a while later, you knew this wasn’t just some construction

Hizashi realized this too and you two quickly hurried out of the restaurant, leaving the fried chicken behind to go help the people outside

Just as you suspected, this was another villain attack, although these villains weren’t just any villains

They were… The League of Villains *gasp* dun dun dunnn

“I’ll go fend them off while you help evacuate everyone ok?” Present Mic said

You nodded and the two of you rushed off

You used your quirk to protect the civilians from any stray blasts or debris that were sent your way as you led them to safety

You had also made sure to call for backup

Once everyone was safe, you went back to help Present Mic

He was badly injured in the time you left him alone to fight and was barely able to stand anymore

Your protective instincts suddenly kicked in and you propelled yourself forward in between your man and the league

The only thought you had was to make sure that Hizashi was safe

And that one thought served as a flame to your power as you fought off the villains

You knew your quirk was a strong one

You had confidence in your training and your abilities

There was no way you were going to lose now

You fought well and held the league off until the other heroes arrived to help

The league somehow managed to escape before they could be captured

Since the fight was over though, you went to check on Hizashi and saw he was as spunky as ever

“Y/n you were amAZINGG. Your power, your technique…”

You sighed as he continued to fangirl over your quirk and the way you fought

Truth is, you’ve never actually used your quirk to fight in front of him before

Either way, you were glad he found your quirk amAZINGG

Ugh I know that feeling, whenever I look for sources of Snape I see people mourning the loss of Alan and it wrecks me to look at :( but thanks for the link! I’ve read through around half of it, whoever made that webpage deserves an award.

I think she was purposefully trying to mislead us with all that talk about Snape being the devil reincarnated so it can surprise us all in the end.. but the way she talks about Snape drastically changing after the reveal is so weird and annoying. Her naming the chapter in OoTP “Snape’s Worst Memory” was probably deemed as a clever clue by her, because “oh look! In this scene we see Snape getting traumatised and stripped in front of idek how many students! Hence its name! But oh! In the 7th book we realise Snape lurrrvvveeddd Harry’s mom! And in that chapter he calls her a Mudblood which is SECRETLY the reason it’s actually his worst memory! NOT because he was severely traumatised and was clearly affected by it when he was grown up, but because of his poor little unrequited crush on Harry’s super hot mom ;p now pls give me my millions” And the way she basically just tries to blame Severus hating Harry on his unrequited love rather than focusing on what was done to Severus by James and what it might mean for him to have to face Harry everyday and despite the fact that Lily honestly didn’t have much to do with it (tw for slight James bashing 🙊) makes me rage. It’s like she’s missing the point of her own writing.

it's shit like this that makes me further realize that (a) things are so much more fun when you just take the bits you like and run away from the bits you don't, and (b) Harry Potter Canon Never Makes Sense. Ever.

the world would be a much better place if we all just accepted that ngl.

this is why making severus vs the marauders homoerotic rivals who may or may not have each others birthdays memorized so i can prank them, nothing else, im not in love with him, shut up shut up shut up, is 1000x better than canon

wdym better than canon? It already is canon. They all have crushes on each other and were in denial of 1. being gay 2. crushing on… Snivellussss. Snape feels the same way about them and he hates it. (I also think teen!Snape living life with his redhead bestie while casually making all four of the Marauders head over heels for him and having no clue is extremely amusing.)

this is kinda weird and meta and i cannot tell if it’s written coherently so plz just hear me out

so yk how J*R admitted that, when she was writing OOTP at the same time as the first movie was being made, she made a lot of the changes/revelations we see for severus’ character bc she liked alan rickman’s portrayal so much? her only valid opinion

prior to that it is much easier to see the relationship between james/the marauders and severus as ‘slytherin vs gryffindor antagonistic’

(the prank (PoA) is imo played off more as ‘sirius was in the wrong by organising it, james did better by following severus and getting him out of there’ without input from OOTP)

anyway, this is all to say that pre-OOTP james and post-OOTP james feel like very different characters, bc one is very much good-guy-in-the-making and the other is the worst of the worst, and i think it can be brought back to J*R’s inability to write interesting slyth vs gryff rivalries without resorting to bullying and harassment from one party (the way she writes slytherins makes me want to smash my head against walls)

what do you think? bc this is coming from a kinda biased marauders stan, pro-james perspective, even though i dont hate young!sev in the slightest

i feel like a lot of my issues with this whole thing can be summed up by The TERF Bitch Can’t Write, And Now We Suffer Because Of It

I’ve heard of that claim before, and iirc I’ve seen a source of her saying that a long time ago, but could you tell where cause I’d love to confirm this? 😭 She had already had Snape’s arc planned out because during the earlier films Alan wanted to quit his role because playing Evil Greasy Potions Master might get him type-casted (since he’s played villains before) and he didn’t want that, so Rowling decided to tell him about the grandiose reveal in DH, which is what made him stay.

I actually think that was the point. In the earlier books we’re led to believe that Snape had no good reason for hating Harry’s dad and only resented James (and Harry) because he was a popular, loved Gryffindor and a talented Quidditch player. It was a bit of a red herring, and in PoA when Sirius and Remus are introduced we’re told about the prank and since Harry already hates Snape, obviously loves his father, and wants to know more info about his parents because he now knows two people who were the closest of friends with them, he assumes Sirius is right and evil Sneep Snoop is wrong and was just being petty as per usual. So for the first five books the readers are like “yo James is the perfect awesome guy and Snape is the jealous bad one,” which is increased when we remember James is a Gryffindor and Severus was a Slytherin, we sort of get the same image as Harry and Draco. It’s an extremely black-and-white image, the dawning realisation that it might not be just a simple rivalry/jealously-issue is what makes SWM in the 5th book so jaw-dropping to all of us, because we actually realise that it wasn’t the whole story. “Snape was right all along” is a super scary realisation for Harry, especially since it makes him completely rethink the image of his father that’s been painted for him by basically everyone around him, everyone except the one character Harry despises most of all.

This isn’t to say JKR doesn’t make shit decisions in writing, I 100000% get what you’re saying, but I think this was deliberately written that way so it can to be a big build-up to the plot twist. (Doesn’t make it very well-written, but it was still her intention ig.) and tbh the fact that we have so many unanswered questions/concerns about the plot holes/arcs/writing/etc and have to fill it in with the most plausible assumptions really goes to show how overrated JKR’s writing is and how her series has been enriched mostly by its fandom.

Also dw you’ve gotten your point across very well, I always get concerned with my writing because I’m worried it just sounds like a pile of unorganised bullshit 💀

Ooh, okay. um...

1. If you had to create a soundtrack for your story, what songs would you choose? why?

For all my tomarrymort stories A Wolf At The Door (youtube link) by Radiohead is absolutely applicable, ngl. I think it captures that dark, cat and mouse feeling quite well, as well as the hopelessness and anger I tend to put Harry through. That being said, I do have playlists for quite a few of my fics on Spotify; In The Dark, Vespertine, Rage, Rage, Hold Me Down (Fuck Me Up), and my generic pornfic playlist. Rage Rage and HMDFMU are both unposted, but you should be able to find info about them on here.

12. If your characters live together, what does their morning routine look like? Do they do things together, or do they move about the house separately? Do they have to part ways? If so, what do they say before they go?

I'll start with the obvious: Hamlet fic. In Hamlet fic there's basically no such thing as a morning routine between Tom and Harry - they sleep in the same bed, Tom wakes up before Lily does and goes back to where he should be sleeping shortly before she wakes, and Harry's morning routine tends to involve washing himself and then getting clothed alone, all the while mentally cursing both himself and Tom - the man for crawling into his bed, himself for letting it happen. There is no symbiosis in their relationship - they tend to part ways silently, except if something notable has happened, which is not often. When they start fucking, their morning routine consists of fucking. What more can I add to that, really.

In general, though, I imagine the morning routine between Tom (or Vee) and Harry to look a lot like two people working separately in the same space. If they're close (friends, or willing lovers) they might interact during it, but overall I think they'd leave each other alone - except in the times when they don't, in which case they go at it like wild animals, if you catch my drift. Whether they're fighting or fucking, though, only they can say.

Not So Perfect Sister Part 2 (Final Part)

Part 1

Pairing: Sirius Black x potter!reader

Word Count: 3,235

Warnings: Mentions of neglect, Mentions of sexual harassment, Swearing, yelling, Angsty

Summary: Reader returns to house to confront her parents and brother.

A/n: Ngl this part isnt as good as the first in my opinion. But whatever. I hope you guys like it!

You felt the light buzz of alcohol in your chest. You could hear crickets chirping quietly, the dull thud of your head following their rhythm. You took in a deep breath, letting it out, its steamy fog disappearing into the cool night air. You licked your lips, they tasted of vodka and blood. Your heart hammered in you chest uncomfortably. You wanted to turn and run. You would much rather fly than fight.

You then felt a warm grip fall around your hand. Its heat flowing up your arm and spreading through your body like water slowly trickling through a stream bed.

You turned and locked your gaze into the stormy skies you considered more of a home than the one you stood in front of. You watched as Sirius' eyes dragged slowly over you.

You were bathed in the yellow light, making your bloodshot y/e/c eyes shine, their rims red and puffy. Your lip was split open, still raw and brilliantly red. Your hands were bloodied, pebbles still lodged painfully beneath your y/s/c skin. Your left cheek was red turning purple, the palm of a hand struck there in anger. Your y/h/c hair was knotted and windblown, stained wet from tears and sweat. Your clothes wrinkled, the occasional smear of blood or dirt dotting your green t-shirt. A leather jacket that didn't belong to your draped over you. Your feet were bare besides a baby blue ankle sock on your left foot a purple one on your right, both were soaking wet, midnight dew soaking through their thin fabric.

Yet you stood tall, your eyes turning back to the prison you called home, they narrowed with determination, darkened with rage. Your lips drew into a thin line, jaw tightening. Sirius sympathized for who ever you decided to lock eyes with next, you looked simply dangerous.

He felt your hand tightened once more around his, the scratches pressing firmly into his palm. When you dropped it, he could still feel the warmth of blood linger there.

He watched you climb the porch steps. Your actions weren't hesitant or careful. Instead they were firm and confident. You knew what you were doing and you weren't afraid. Not anymore. Each step you took left behind a wet footprint, staining the wood of the porch dark.

You didn't hesitate at the door, not even for a second. You ignored every single thing in your body telling you to turn around and run back into the musky scent of alcohol and smoke. You needed to do this alone. No one could fix this but you.

When you opened the door you were washed with a wave of warmth, the scent of a dinner you never ate still lingering in the air. You walked through the mudroom and into the living room.

You were met with four pairs of eyes, each seeming to show a different emotion. Guilt flashed through all of them as they looked you over but only in one pair did it stay. The other three were replaced by anger, disappointment and fear.

"Oh Merlin y/n." James gushed rushing towards you, one of his shameful eyes darkened to a bruised purple.

You involuntarily flinched away from him, giving him a full view of the darkening red mark he left behind from your last meeting.

He stopped dead in his tracks his eyes brimming with tears, "Oh my god." His voice was choked and broken. "I did that?" Tears slowly dripped from his eyes sliding smoothly down his cheeks.

Only then did you see your parents eyes falter. They faded into sadness when they looked upon James.

How could they? How could they feel sorry for him? When you stood broken before them? They grew angry but James gets upset because HE hit YOU and they felt sorry for him?

"Yeah, yeah you did." You spat at your brother before pushing past him to stand in front of your parents whom to your disgust, almost looked bored. As if they were watching some unentertaining movie.

You waited for a second, eyes flicking back and forth between the two adults seated on the couch. You wanted them to say something. Anything. Asking if you were okay or what happened to you. Even some half assed apology. But they stayed silent, relaxed. As if they were waiting for you to bore them with some meaningless lecture.

"Do you even care?" You asked your voice broken and disgusted.

The room fell deathly silent. Your father opened his mouth but you cut him off.

"You know what don't answer. I'll do it for you." Your eyes pricked with tears wanting to spring from your eyes. "No. No you don't."

"Of course we do." Your mother spoke harshly, "Don't you dare disrespect us. We have taken care of you your whole life you have no right."

"Ok mom." You chucked, "If you care so much and you have done so much for me, can you tell me what position I play in quidditch?"

Both of your parents went silent.

"The postion I've been playing since second fuckung year." You glowered at them.

They glance at each other expecting the other to answer.

"What about James."

Silence.

"You know his right?"

Nothing.

"Oh right of course you do. Because his fucking point scored per game is ON THE REFRIGERATOR!" you could feel the hot tears seep down your face.

"I'm a keeper by the way." You spat. "You've watched me save hundreds of goals. You've watched me block James shots for Godric's sake!"

Your mother looked down at her hands. You father at the wall.

"But you don't see your daughter do you? You don't see me saving those goals. You just see another green uniform getting in the way of your precious little boys game."

"Y/n, we're sorry we don't cheer for you, it's just easier for us to cheer for the house we were apart of." You father explained as if it was obvious.

"I'm sure it's so much easier for you to boo your daughter right. So easy to brush her off because of the color she's wearing." You wiped furiously at your tears.

"This is a lot of fuss over a few quidditch games " you mother scoffed.

"You think this is just quidditch games?" You seethed.

You watched as she shrunk away from you, "You don't know a damn thing about me!"

Once again your father opened his mouth to speak.

"You don't!" You fired at him before he could even ask the question. "You don't know who my friends are, you don't know the name of my owl, you don't know my ex-boyfriends name. You-"

"You had a boyfriend?"

You rubbed your eyes, pinching the bridge of your nose. "We dated for a year and a half. "

You watched your parents cringe.

"I bet you can't even tell me my favorite color." You scoffed.

"That's easy, green" your father stated triumphantly.

"I wish you were kidding." You muttered.

They cringed again.

"Its y/f/c. It's been y/f/c since I was seven years old."

"Y/n I'm sorry we don't pay attention to a few things in your life. We are very busy." Your father argued.

"You know all of that shit about James." You snapped.

You turned so that you were facing both your parents and James whose eyes were now red rimmed and glassy.

"I have a question for all of you."

James snapped his attention to you. Lily who sat next to him, her arm wrapped him looked at you with pity, making you want to slap her so much more.

"Do you know what happened to me in third year?"

James shook his head solemnly. Your parents looking anywhere but you.

"When I was in third year I was felt up by a sixth year." James looked like you just slapped him. "He thought that because I was wearing a crop top he could stick his hand up my shirt and pin me up against a wall."

The room was dead silent. Sirius who had been standing in the corner of the room went pale. James began to sob again. Lily's mouth dropped. You moms eyes went glassy as your father went beat red.

"None of you noticed." You cried voice breaking, "I wore nothing but long sleeves and oversized sweatshirts all of my third year because of it and none of you even cared!" Sobs began to wreck your body. You tried to speak but nothing but it was like someone had lodged an egg carton down your throat.

Sirius still pale as a ghost took you quickly into his arms.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered into your hair, "I'm so so sorry."

You looked up at him and everything else fell away. His grey eyes glassy, his dark hair framing his unfairly handsome face, his cheeks were pale and he looked like he wanted to throw up.

"It's not your fault." You murmured, you wrapped your hand around his neck pulling him into a soft kiss.

"What the fuck!?" You instantly broke apart to see James, tears still sliding peacefully down his cheeks. His mouth dropped open and his bloodshot eyes wide with surprise.

"None of your business James." You seethed.

"I think it is my business! My sister and my best friend just kissed!" He hollered, standing and advancing towards you. "You're going to ruin my friendship!"

You stepped towards your brother your hands shaking with rage. "This is what I mean!" You shouted, "You are selfish James!"

"How am I possibly being selfish!" He shot back furiously.

"You don't care about me! All you care about is your friendship! Your friend! YOURSELF! You don't give two shits about what's happening with me all you care about is your perfect little life being ruined by your not so perfect sister." Your voice was now lowered to a hiss as spoke.

James anger flashed in his eyes again and he took a step toward you, but this time you didn't flinch.

"What?" You spat, "You gonna hit me again?" You challenged darkly.

Shame flashed through him and suddenly it hit him. He almost stumbled at the force of the facts that suddenly became so real to him. He was selfish. He was an asshole. He ignored his sister for years simply because of the color of her robes. He had looked at her with disgust and anger simply because she was ambitious and cunning. He only cared for himself and his perfect life. He could suddenly see every time he blew you off, everytime he side stepped you or glowered at you as you did nothing but exist.

"Oh my god." He whispered, his voice shaky.

"I'm done with this damn family." You scoffed, "You're all selfish and rude. You all think your so much better than those stick up their ass purebloods but deep down your no better than them, because all you do is ignore and neglect those who are different than you and it's revolting." You turned to look at your parents, "All I ever wanted was a mom and a dad, but since the day that hat was placed on my head you couldn't see anything but a goddamn traitor." Your eyesight blurred and with that you began to walk for the door.

But you were stopped, not by James or your parents but a pair of soft grey eyes.

"Y/n/n, you can't." Sirius sighed. "You know you can't, just give them a chance."

"I gave them thousands of chances." You muttered back attempting to shoulder past him but he held his ground.

Sirius opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the sharp voice of your mother.

"The fact that you think you have the right to call us as foul as families who would cast out their own son is what is repulsive young lady! If you truly believe that then by all means walk out that door!"

You turned ready to unleash hell on to the women but were surprised when your brother stepped in front of you.

"No mom!" He yelled, "Shes right!"

Your mother stumbled backwards, her eyes going wide, "James?" She questioned softly as if she had just found out that he had done some unspeakable act.

"Mom. You may not have physically cast her from the family but you just threatened to. And we have all neglected her since she was eleven as well." James paused taking a breath as your mother slumped back onto the couch.

"We may not have used a torturing curse on her but for Godric's sake I just slapped her and we have mentally tortured her for years! Can you please get off your high horse for just a second and realize that maybe you and dad aren't as perfect as you seem to believe you are?!"

The silence that followed was suffocating as you watched you mother process the information she had just been given. Slowly but surely reality began to seep through her skull and she looked up from her hands with guilt in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry." She whispered, her voice breaking. Before she broke down to sobs and it took you a second to realize she was talking to you.

Your eyes widened in surprise before narrowing once again and you turned on your heel but instead of heading straight for the door you stomped up the steps. Sirius sent a final glance around the room before following your actions.

He walked into your room to see you lying on your back on the floor. Your eyes were trained on the white ceiling above your hands fiddling with the sleeve of his leather jacket.

Sirius didn't ask questions, he simply lay next to you and slowly edged his hand over to yours, intertwining your fingers with his.

You sat in silence for a few minutes hearing faint arguing bellow.

"It took James." You finally spoke causing Siirus to turn his head towards you in question.

"It took James for her to realize that she might actually be wrong." You explained a tear sliding from your cheek like a raindrop set carefully against your y/s/c skin.

"I know y/n." Sirius mumbled, "But at least she realized."

"I know it just made me so mad that after everything she still won't listen to me." You winced feeling a sharp pain on you hand when Sirisu gripped it tightly.

He immediately apologized having you situp as he fished for his wand.

"Yeah it does suck." He agreed before muttering a spell over you hands as you felt the pebbles begin to slowly pull from your soft flesh. "But she needed someone like James agreeing with you to make her hear you. "

You sighed, "Your probably right." You smiled softly up at him.

"Of course I'm right," he smirked, "I'm Sirius Black."

"God your an ass." You giggled as he pulled you towards him pressing his lips slowly on yours, his touch made you feel warm and fuzzy, you could feel his heartbeat quicken as you placed your hand lightly on his chest.

There was a knock at the door, three soft wraps which you were sure had to be your mother's. Much to Sirius' dismay you pulled away standing to open the door.

When you swung it open you were greeted by emerald green eyes and fiery red hair. Lily looked nervously at you probably expecting you to slam the door in her face, and the truth was you were tempted.

"Yes Evans?" You asked feeling Sirius walk up next to you.

"I think they need you down stairs." She said quietly.

You glanced at Sirius who nodded, "Ok." You spoke hesitantly.

You were about to leave when you suddenly stopped.

"Evans."

She turned to face you expecting you to explode in her face.

"Sorry about all this. And you can move your stuff into James room, Sirius can sleep in mine."

She grinned back nodding and beginning to gather her stuff.

"That is if you want to." You shrugged glancing at Sirius who seemed to be smirking down at you.

"I thought you'd never ask." He taunted.

"Neither did I" You huffed as you descended the stairs.

You were greeted by you parents and James. He stood carefully next to you facing your parents as well. And you suddenly realized it was no longer four against one. It was three against two.

You stood in front of your parents waiting for them to speak. They seemed to be communicating back and forth with their eyes, raising and lowering their brows to for different expressions that you honestly couldn't quite read.

Finally you cleared your throat loudly and you father sighed before turning to you and saying, "Y/n, we want to apologize." He paused looking down before sighing and continuing, "You were right about everything thing you said, and it wasn't fair for us to neglect you simply because you were different."

The room once again dropped silent, all eyes on you. You could feel them boring into you like a woodpecker into wood.

Finally your mother spoke, "Y/n, please forgive us, we are so sorry, it is terrible that it took us that long to see it but please give us another chance." She begged. Begging was not a pretty color on her. It seemed strange to see such a strong woman, who you had grown to see as cold-hearted, beg.

You glanced around this room, eyes sticking on Sirius the longest. Eventually you let your y/e/c orbs travel back to your parents.

You sighed, "Ok." And with that word everyone in the room let put a relieved sigh.

"So you forgive us then?" You father asked hopefully.

"Merlin's beard no." You scoffed back watching them deflate, "I'll give you a chance but I'm going to forgive you in four seconds for what you did to me for four years."

They nodded understandingly and you let out a sigh, "I'm going to bed." You mumbled before retreating back up to your room but before you could make it up you were stopped by a hand grabbing your wrist.

You instinctively spun around to be greeted with a pair of dark eyes.

"Thank you y/n/n." He whispered and for the first time since you were 11 your nickname slipped from his lips.

You just nodded before turning to leave but his grip stayed firm.

"What happened between Sirius and you?" He asked nervously, "Because I mean I'm not just asking as a friend, I'm asking as a big brother and I-"

Your giggle cut him off, "We kissed James, tonight actually so honestly, I don't even know what happened."

"Oh. Okay well, I just don't want you to get hurt, you know how he is." He mumbled awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck as color tinged his cheeks.

"Thank you James." You smiled giving his hand a squeeze before walking up the stairs Sirius soon following behind.

When you reached your bedroom you turned pulling Sirius into a searing kiss, your lips colding sloppily as your tongue grazed his bottom lip. After a second you pulled away panting.

"Thank you." You mumbled before pulling him close to you once again.

Hello all. For new followers, on Munday I often make a post like this of just random inane OOC personal shit, sort of a weekly journal, to avoid clogging my post with too much personal OOC the rest of the week. Feel free to scroll past! -Pretty sure now Peanut is a boy! - I felt like everyone was overdue to know my dad has a picture of a potoroo as his work computer wallpaper - My niece has left, but mom wants Dart to keep living in Dad’s office instead of the guest room. Dad’s ok with it because he loves Dart but ngl I thought it was hilarious that the rat had his own room for awhile. - I bought “Werewolf the Apocalypse: Heart of the Forest” and I’m enjoying it! I’m up to Chapter Four. It’s making me think about one of the concepts I had for the werewolf LARP that I was going to join before COVID hit, a Homid (human-born werewolf) named Water Lily who was born a Black Fury (all-female warrior werewolf tribe) but converted to being one of the Children of Gaia (the most peaceful and compassionate of the werewolves) because she preferred their peace-first ways to the more warlike nature of most Furies. Also the patron spirit of the Children is UNICORN, so I’m not gonna pass that up. My other concept was Lost Dog, one of the Bone Gnawers (poor urban werewolves who are literal underdogs, like bums and homeless people) who was unfortunate enough to be a Lupus (wolf-born werewolves, meaning she was an animal until her first change, a very scrawny doggy-looking wolf) and is. . .pretty confused, even more so than a Homid would be, for obvious reasons. She also may not really be Lupus, she may be a Lost Homid, someone who lost their memory upon their first change. They don't remember how to be human, but have no instincts to be wolves either. So yeah Lost Dog is not having as good a time as Water Lily is. Water Lily is a lot more confident and together and knows what’s up, Lost Dog is very much a lost dog tagging along after others. Both are Theurges, which are the more magic/spiritual-focused cast in Garou (werewolf) society, who do rituals and craft fetishes and things like that, I feel like they’re the caste I’d be best out, at least as a first-time player, just because I like them the most and feel most attracted to them. - I found a guy who is dedicated to making BUNKERS FOR HIS PET HAMSTER based on the city of Rapture from Bioshock and I love this. - Watched American Psycho last night. I’m not really a murder movie person---I like horror, but I prefer supernatural and creature feature flicks, not slashers--but it comes off like a must-see, and July 4 seemed a good time to watch it. What I found really interesting about Bateman wasn’t the murder, but the fact he, by his own admission, has no internal identity, no sense of self. He has to build an external identity for others to perceive using the tools of status within his peer group---a great body, a fancy apartment, the right business card---in order to have one at all. And his moments of real human emotion come when that is threatened---his saying he’s almost in tears at the idea of not getting a good table, his panic when he realizes Paul Allen has a nicer apartment than his, his rage when the sex worker he’s trying to murder kicks him in the face specifically (”Not the face!”) It’s more than simple vanity or greed, it’s that he basically doesn’t exist psychologically if he’s not being perceived by others. What they see determines who he is, and that’s why he needs to make sure what they see is impressive, successful, enviable. He’s breaking down at the end when his lawyer doesn’t believe he killed Paul Allen and is basically brushing him off, not even recognizing him as Bateman but mistaking him for a colleague (a theme in the movie) He should be elated he’s getting away with his murders but he’s NOT, he’s distraught, because he doesn’t want to get away with killing, he just wants to be SEEN because he doesn’t EXIST if he’s not, because he’s got nothing inside. That’s how I interpreted him, anyway, and that’s what made the film really interesting to me in a way that murder flicks usually aren’t. - Like a lot of people, I quit shaving my legs in quarantine. I think that the social code for women to shave but not men is stupid, sexist, and frankly kind of creepy. I don’t judge other women for doing it, but for myself, I was doing it just to fit in better with society; I consider myself a very feminine person, but I don’t think there’s anything unfeminine about my having leg hair. It’s natural, I’m an adult, it’s supposed to be there. It’s like saying my face is unfeminine without makeup, it’s absurd. But I also have sensory issues (which is why I kept shaving under my arms), and my leg hair finally got long enough to set them off. I know this might not sound rational to anyone else, but I could FEEL the air against my hairs as I walked, and it drove me crazy within like two days. So I’ve just shaved it all off. And while I still think pressure for female-assignedor female-perceived people to shave as a cultural institution is stupid, I’ve got to say that, much like squeezing a pimple, there’s a certain absolutely depraved satisfaction from it I can’t explain.

Now that you've re read the HP series I was wondering what you thought of it on the whole. (JK aside) if you can

the series is always going to have a very special place in my heart I think. I read it for the first time when I was in third grade and I just have sooo many good memories associated with it. I think now that I’ve reread it as an adult I can appreciate more of the complexities and nuance to it as well as just. relive the whole thing yk. and ofc, disclaimer that I don’t like jkr or condone her actions!! that being said I just have so much love for this series. god.

first off it’s just. it’s written pretty damn well for a children’s series, prose wise and story wise. while with its flaws, the world building is done so well and it’s always so fun to learn more in each book and explore different corners of the wizarding world. I also really really enjoy how from book five and onwards, the world becomes infinitely more complex. the corruption of the ministry and the justice system in particular is really well done and a lot of the depth is due to that.

there are also just so many characters that I love that it outweighs the ones that I hate. harry is a great protagonist with a good heart and while he doesn’t always make the best decisions, he is intelligent and underrated, honestly. ron is an icon!!! he’s kind and he’s also very flawed, but it makes him feel real and honest and while he isn’t that studious, he’s smart!! and he cares about his friends so much!! hermione has always meant a lot to me, too. I’ve often felt like a weird girl or like I’m too much, so I relate to her a lot on that. I think that despite her flaws, she’s also a really great character and person who is definitely someone I have looked up to in the past for the better. neville, luna, ginny, lupin, sirius, mcgonagall, the weasleys, even lily and james despite their limited content are all characters that I love. so much. reading the books is like being with my family <3

that being said there are also. a lot of characters I dislike. people who thirst over tom riddle are also insane btw that just. weirds me out. he’s still voldemort. snape, obviously, sucks — I think he’s an interesting character but a shitty shitty person who bullied his students for no reason or based off of stupid grudges. draco is a racist little prick who, while he could change at an older age, was an asshole just for the sake of being an asshole! like ok yeah sucks that voldemort was punishing him for his dad’s screw up or whatever, but he’s still just?? a jerk?? he’s a bully, he’s racist, and just altogether not a good guy. narcissa also has no appeal to me. like I can acknowledge the nuance in some characters but not like them. I don’t hate dumbledore, though. I think he’s a very flawed man, but I like that!! I think the more we learn about him the more interesting the character becomes. altogether I like him for the most part but I don’t love everything he does.

I only really have 1-2 ships that I actually care about ngl. romione was my first ship and they are still absolutely everything to me. their buildup is just. chefs kiss. they’re frenemies first, and then in book four. how it all begins to get going with ron’s raging jealousy when hermione is with krum. the subtle little hints of his crush through book five. hermione becoming incredibly jealous and heartbroken when he’s with lavender in book six and coming to terms with how she feels about him. and everything in book seven how they’re on the cusp of a relationship and then their first kiss. oh my god fucking iconic. I love them endlessly and I also. love harry’s reactions to everything. how by book six he knows that both of them like each other and is just 👀 or 🥴 whenever there’s something going on. witnessing it through his eyes is just increasingly amusing. I also like jily a lot more than I used to. I never disliked them but now I have a lot more appreciation for them. also, they died at 21. that never really sank in until now. it’s so young and it’s so heartbreaking like they had, what, four years together tops? AND THEY DIED AT TWENTY-ONE WHAT THE HELL. and hinny is like. ok. don’t really do much for me. but I don’t hate them or anything

these books just. mean everything to me and I’m bummed to be done but <3 I’m really glad I reread them
