My interaction with my transwoman teacher: part 1
The closest I've come to a trans person, is this professor in college. A transwoman. She doesn't mind being called "sir". She doesn't go around saying "trans women are women". She literally says, "I belong to the third gender"
She wears feminine clothes, but it's obvious from voice and everything that she's a male. I did find an outline of bra strap over her white coat, even though she's got no need for it. But then i thought, maybe wearing a bra is something that makes her feel woman? Wearing a bra is not everything about a woman, but maybe, it's just a coping mechanism? And it's not harming any student anyways.
I kinda feel like she's overly religious and stuff? Expecting a lot from students? She's an amazing teacher, no doubt, she explains so well, but something is off? And then i thought, am i being biased? Am i not liking her simply cuz i judged her for being trans?
And do i need to respect her and like her just cuz she's trans, becoz no doubt, they face discrimination too. After much thought, i just concluded, I'm only going to respect her as a teacher. Even though I'm not going to fight for the same causes as her, i will show solidarity as a human to her, if her causes are justified. And I'm going to be very careful with every thought i have about her, so as to not become the same judgmental monster I'm afraid of.
After much thought, she's not my favourite teacher ofc, not because she's trans or anything, i have a different learning style compared to her teaching style. And this is normal, it happens with female and male teachers too. I don't have to guilt-trip myself into liking someone, nor do i have to pretend to like someone because others will find me a better ally.

The amount of people ready to support and defend kink culture and fetishes....
I'm losing hope now. They labelled me as a kink shamer.
When i said fetishes are like, you have attraction to something and you're using that person to satisfy that fetish.
They said, if you're not attracted to the person you wouldn't have the fetish... (Foot fetish) well, is that even a fetish, to love all parts of your partner?
I asked, how does the above statement hold true when someone's buying foot pictures? Their reply was, someone's buying cuz someone else is ready to sell... This came from a girl.
Idek anymore...
There's another friend of mine (a guy). He said he likes libfem more than Radfem because libfems talk about sexual liberty. And radfems are all about don't shave and shit. His words.
I wonder how many people are going astray solely because of uncontrolled sexual desires. It's your right to choose whatever kind of sex you enjoy, but all rights need to be exercised with responsibility. Exercising rights without responsibility is being a total fool.
I know all this is only helping me to solidify what my beliefs are, but mahnnnnn it hurts to realise.

Hi! Random question: Can/do you interpret dreams?
Hi I generally interpret mine cause I can understand when to do that and when not to (and I know also what's behind the dream, i.e. my mind, my heart, my past, my triggers, my signs and all around these), but never really did for others exactly bc of these reasons. We can talk about a dream if you want, but if you need a precise interpretation I don't think I can provide it to you or be correct/accurate.
@lilithian-labyrinth used to do that tbh so maybe you can ask? Idk tho.

Hey! I'm ibi! A medical student.
I am a thinker. That's all I am. Eagerly waiting to become a doer and make others doers too. I genuinely believe that while you can agree with the ideas of a group, you should have the right to maintain individuality. But when we start labelling people, or ourselves, we end up losing individuality. Hopefully people won't label me as anything.
Here's the link to my masterlist !!

About fanatism in religions:
Religion is doing more bad than good. If you really want order, you can simply do that with good morals and common sense. It's like, religion is this costly Medicine and good values are the cheap ones. Both do the same work, but see what people prefer?
Because if you don't know how the medicine works, instead of believing in the medicine, you believe in the cost of medicine, something analogous to what religious people do. Cuz they don't understand how morals really work
Admiring a religion is like admiring the Taj Mahal without considering how many workers were exploited for its construction.
Women are martyred in a religion to keep it alive. People know, yet fail to acknowledge.
If religions bring discipline, i shouldn't see religious people being late anytime... It depends on the kind of people. Religion could be a correlating factor, but not causation.

I want to add some input to it. In India, as per the NFHS 4, of all contraceptive options, female sterilization makes up 35%, male sterilization makes 0.3%.
As per NFHS 5 (latest data) female sterilization makes 38%, male sterilization makes 0.3%.
What is the cause for such a huge variation, that women are always the ones undergoing invasive procedures with higher risk, than men? Compared to tubectomy, vasectomy is less riskier.
Also, in India, whenever a woman gives birth to two babies, the question is always directed to women, whether they've been sterilized or not. But men are not questioned as such.
Back in 1975-77, then prime minister Ms.Indira Gandhi declared red alert in India, and vasectomy (male sterilization) was made compulsory to control population. It was later lifted. But till now, men are not educated enough to understand how important vasectomy is. There's a stigma, that men become less manlier after vasectomy... Especially in rural areas, and lower and middle income, moderate educated urban populations too.
A very small bracket of well educated men only undergoes vasectomy. Women are made to choose tubectomy along with c-section births... It's unfair.
I spoke to my community medicine professor about this, and he said this stigma that men become less manlier is soooo incorporated into rural mindset. And mind you, 70% of the Indian population is rural.
I go to this rural clinic 2 hrs away from city on most Sundays for clinical exposure. And i saw this happening in front of my eyes. A lot of women there wear copper T, and experience pain ( a side effect) simply because men refuse to use condoms...
Nothing beats the returns on a vasectomy.

So, I got a debate competition coming up on Monday, and I would like to hear y'alls opinion.
"There is a move towards prolonging maternity leave to promote effective breastfeeding. Does this promote women's engagement in the workforce, or exclude women from work?"
Whether I stand For or Against this will be decided through a spin, so I gotta be prepared for both sides!
Feel free to reblog or to comment!
PS: I've been away for wayyy too long due to personal issues... Glad to be back!

Anatomy practicals and viva.... Worst experience ever.
Well, some teachers were really nice to me and encouraged me saying that this is only the first exam, and i can improve.
Praveen sir asked me if I'm afraid of the theory exam that's coming up, when I said yes, he told that everyone experiences fears, including himself, and that we all should be courageous to face them. He said fear of doing something is a part of life. He said, his fear is that, he needs to take lecture, in English (it's not our mothertounge), and needs to prepare accordingly. But he does it, he faces the fears.
He told me that if I can focus a little more, i can do so much better.
I got nicely scolded for lower limb viva, i was scolded off like damnnnnnn
I messed up upper limb viva too, and I'm now sitting outside anatomy HOD room. She wanted to meet me after my terrible performance (she came for that viva) and i don't know what's gonna happen.
Premavathy mam also said that if I study a little more i can do it all.
Mahn, even the histology slide spotters.... I messed up so bad.

Doctors normally wear white coats, right? Like, white coats are generally used to differentiate doctor from nurses, patient and all. A small fragment of medical community believes that white coats are a symbol of casteism.
White coat conveys the message "I am a doctor and i know better about your body better than you" which is very flawed. Only the patient knows about him/herself better, better than the doctor. White coat earns a particular respect any where you go, and very wrongly in a place where patient needs to be comfortable with opening up to a doctor; they feel like admitting to a sin while talking to a doctor who wears a white coat. It's not supposed to be that way!
As someone studying to become a doctor, i will undoubtedly say, nurses do more to a patient than what a doctor could ever ....
Ever heard of white coat hypertension? Patients have anxiety when doctors check blood pressure, which gives a wrong value .
Why white? Why the colourism? Why the purity definition for doctors when all that we deal with is death.
When gen z is confronted with this belief, they simply said "that's your ideology, not mine, I'm gonna keep wearing the white coat" when they don't even understand why they want to wear a white coat. They just wanna revolt, without even knowing the cause, and they have this smug smile, thinking they're objecting to authority this way.
Know the war before you go to fight

Misogyny within my own home: Part 1
11 Feb 2023- mom is forcing me to open food packages for my brother (6yrs younger) and I'm not even going to eat from those. When i say he's capable of doing it himself, she keeps telling me to do it. She tells me he doesn't know how to do it.
so, i go ask my brother to open one pack when I'm working on the other. Mind u, he's 14.
that MF has the audacity to say "thu open kar" (Urdu to eng: u open it) as if he f'ing owns the place. Doesn't even look me in the eye, and has the audacity to smirk
nah, not giving my service to such morons. I told that I'm not gonna do it, and left my room When i was in 9th grade, i used to make my own snack.
This is how they create another generation of men who believe the place of a woman is servitude.

Who the hell even did it...Many are unaware of how severe it is. When old methods die to repress, new off handed methods have been created.
I would like to talk about casteism in educational institutions. The "lower caste" people have reservations in educational institutions. Since I'm muslim, i come under minority reservation.
I secured good marks to enter medical College, i joined in the same category as that of general category students. I didn't take reservation. But the stigma from the "upper caste" people is that i didn't have to work as hard as them, and i didn't deserve it as much as them.... I had to remind that girl that i got it through general category.
Now, I have some answer they can't deny. Now what about students who actually enter college through reservation. Those little previleged asses fail to recognise the generational burden of illiteracy. And they have a handful of cases where people wrongly benifitted from caste reservations.
Off-handed comments from professors are another thing. Say one student asks doubt to a "lower caste" student as a part of discussion, professors literally crack jokes like, "even he wouldn't know, why are you asking" even before that student can try to answer. Their English is mocked, teased.
It's very unfair, apart from dealing with severity of college course, they need to deal with casteism.
still baffled by the denial of casteism. literally never heard anyone in my life deny this being real 💀 most south asians i’ve been in closer proximity to have been from upper castes (which makes sense bc they often are the ones with better opportunities and resources to leave south asia) and not a single one of them has denied casteism being an issue. seeing it online is.., strange to me
