Only the oldest members of the BAU know her true identity as the daughter of two of the BAU's co-founders. Aaron Hotchner who met her when she was ten and still semi-innocent compared to how she is now; Jason Gideon—who was like a second father to her along with retired agent, David Rossi, both of whom helped raised her and her twin sister like one of their own; and one of their fellow co-founders of the BAU, Alexander Noble, the single father to two genius twins after his girlfriend was kidnapped and killed by an UnSub after giving birth to Zarah but before Zoe while Zoe barely survived.

Zoe shows traits of all her mentors. But she’s also Zoe Noble-Valdez and certain parts of herself scare her, especially when she can’t really see too much difference between her and the UnSubs she catches… how can she when she’s missing gaps of memory for long periods of time in her life.

Reeeeeaaaaally slow burn, but I mean come on, there's sixteen seasons and I think his first serious love interest is in season eight so buckle up. I'm talking about half way through they still won't be together. Also, I will recast Lila Archer (I like the episode,  it's one of my favorites from season one, the actress being the glaring issue in it) as she grew up to become a real life UnSub. (Obviously, I’m exaggerating but she still tried to ruin the life a very good man—Johnny Depp. How dare she try to ruin his life!?) I will also recast Seaver, I don't have anything against the actress but she's just too similar-looking to JJ, I think. It will still be a blonde actress, maybe Lili Reinhart, you know because she played Betty Cooper in Riverdale and if you seen enough you know the other similarities between those two characters. Warning: This series will have violence towards all kinds of people, descriptions of discrimination, mentions of rape and pedophilia, death, and mental health. The main character has ADHD (which will be somewhat accurate because I have ADHD too), Cyclothymia, PTSD, Non-suicidal self-injury disorder, and high-functioning borderline personality disorder (this is what I'm most worried about because she is a bit of a violent character and may be pushed to a violent dissociative break a few times, but this is not an insult or a judgment of the disorder, simply her character and her way of dealing with certain situations in order for her to survive.) This character also deeply believes the Hispanic beliefs associated with the Day of the Dead (I am not Hispanic but I love this belief and when I first started writing this I was not aware that it was not actually a religion so I apologize if it comes across like that.)

do you have headcanons on what the Archie gang think of the CW show “Riverdale”?

Hhmm... interesting. So, just to clarify - Archie Comics, comic characters, a bit like Toons. Riverdale - live action with actual humans, exactly the same as what was seen on the screen.

They wearn't exactly keen on it at first. It takes away a lot of the light-heartedness of the comics and makes it dark and gritty. However it started to grow on them after they met the people playing themselves. [Just like their Toon counterparts they can go to the real world, which is where they met the actors.]

Jughead was particularly pleased with Cole Sprouse, feeling he managed to get the 'deep, emotional nuances of my character' [Reggie: 'Yeah, maybe he could shadow a garbage truck for inspiration!]

Although it has to be said, Jughead is so easy-going it doesn't really matter who the picked to play him, he'd probably be ok with it.

Veronica was alright with Camilla Mendes, but disliked the route they were going down with Hiram. Her daddy an evil corrupt mob boss!? C'mon!

Originally the team behind Riverdale thought she'd object to the casting of Mark Consuelos - seeing as he looks nothing like Hiram from the comics, but Veronica [and Hiram himself] thought that was a good idea to 'differentiate the portrayals.

Reggie had no problems with either Ross Butler or Charles Melton. They were handsome enough to live up to playing him and they captured his energy well. Much to all his friends surprise the main thing he objected to was his 'personality change' of being slightly sociopathic and [especially in later seasons] falling into gangs ext.

The rest of his friends were pleasantly surprised to find out just how strongly he felt about the likes of gangs and stuff - it's hardly the conversation you make over a soda at Pop Tates - and Veronica and Betty especially felt a new wave of affection for him.

Archie was pleased as well. [Teasingly]"I always knew you had a soft side!" [Cue Reggie rolling his eyes and gently punching Archie in his shoulder.]

Betty - finally - liked Lili Reinhart and was very pleased with the dark edge her character was getting. It's been 60+ years! It's time for her to be a bad***! She liked that her older siblings were being brought into the fold as well.

I haven't actually watched the show, so I can't comment to much on what the characters though of the plot. Sorry!

In its 4 seasons Riverdale has set homes on fire, started riots, sent kids to juvie and then broke them out, made up a deadly game with a kit made out of sticks and cattle horns, had a man who harvested organs with his daughter-wife on a rocket, levitating twins, fathers who try to asasisnate or imprison daughters boyfriends, play murder, a mistress mother, serial killer dads, Archie vs. a bear, tickle videos, Jughead dead...twice, and people in masks making weird as snuff films.

If you think you know what that still is about, you’re probably wrong, and I don’t say that to be mean. Truth is we never know what the writers are going to do because Riverdale is over the top and outlandish. It’s not meant to be any other way. It’s funny, and spooky, and cringy, and romantic and just plain fun.

For all we know Hiram put in a town mandate that shirts are banned. Archie could be posing for a calendar. Yes, he and Betty could be getting hot and heavy together, but it’s more likely one of her candles set her curtains on fire. Maybe Betty is even fake dating Archie so she can be undercover at RHS. We don’t know anything.

As for the year being crappy- yes this pandemic is awful. I hope that’s what you are referring to. If it’s about real life people who aren’t their characters, that is not about us. It does not change our year. We are still breathing and living our lives. They should be left alone. End of it. If you don’t agree, this is the wrong blog to get sympathy from. If you didn’t mean this, I apologize. I get asks about this a lot and delete them so if I misinterpreted your meaning, sorry! If you mean from a Bughead standpoint, I liked most of season 4! We had some really meaningful and adorable moments!

The IT Girls of the Zodiac

What's your opinion on IT Girl or Main Character placements?👀 for me it's Sagittarius & Pisces explained below. Also honorable mention to Virgo moon that is quite common

I don't think it's a coincidence all the current it girls have major Sagittarius placements. We acknowledge the other fire signs for being baddies but sag gets swept under the rug quite a bit I've noticed? I just think we really sleep on their charisma and attractiveness. I could make the same debate for mutable signs in general but look at Madelyn Cline, Nicki Minaj, Alexa Demie, Alix Earle, Christina Aguilera, Scarlet Johanson, Zoe Kravitz, Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton. They all have either Sagittarius in their big 3 or stelliums. And notably a good portion have the Sagittarius sun & Virgo moon combination which is a bit surprising. But all of these girls have been the it girls forever now yet we always say "Scorpio venus" or it's their "Leo mars" like noooo wake up Sagittarius is the IT GIRL SIGN LOL.

Like I've been thinking about this and looking at sooo many celebs charts who are it girls. The main character sign really is Sagittarius but let's not forget Pisces too. They're both traditionally Jupiter ruled which brings fortune, an expansion in their presence, mass amounts of attention or following, and over indulgence. Sagittarius is the explorer, they discover and create power while also giving others power. Just being in their presence can make you feel high as they carry that demeanour of knowing how to make everything or everyone work and fall for them.

Sag folk could be the biggest workaholic when it's something they truly care about as they fully immerse themselves into their passions. They become inventive and expand something that exists into another different category. I also don't think it's a coincidence Albert Einstein had a Pisces sun & Sag moon. Pisces rules the unknown and unconscious flow of spiritual knowledge. That man literally predicted so many things through science, he was ahead of his time.

Pisces is also significant amongst IT Girls. Because Neptune deals with illusions, deceptions, film, imagery, and dreams. Their effect on others means people project their fantasies onto the Pisces individual as a role to fulfill because their presence is always misinterpreted. The public creates a false narrative about them everytime. Although due to their identity literally being the publics fantasy this means they can either get away with a lot of the public puts them on a pedestal or they get blamed for everything if the public creates a harmful narrative around them because Pisces and Neptune create isolated space as this is the unconscious mind and realm.

For Virgos they're calculated in their interactions and know what to say because their adaptive and observant nature makes them pros at reading others and predicting reactions. Virgo is connected to angels and mythology actually. The symbol is the only goddess symbol in the zodiac which is Astraia the goddess of purity, innocence justice & precision (could also explain why I see so many virgos into law). She is the star goddess that left earth due to the brutal nature of humans. This connection shows people could often expect virgos to save them from their problems or use them as a source of escapism.

There's also a sense of idolizing virgos from the public because they're seen as pure and of higher good. The public often feels virgos have a duty to serve them so there can be a sense of obsession from the publics end on how virgos should behave or act. It makes me think of lily reinhart, blake lively, zendaya & beyonce. All It girls who are virgos that look like goddesses or have an angelic vibe? Like y'all see it too right? They have this pure (I hate the word pure but idk how else to describe this lol) and divine look to them. Plus they all have this incredibly high standard their personality has to live up to. You don't really see many virgo celebs acting out or being wild like a sag sun would.

Another honorable mention is Cancer risings or Amy Cancer placement in your inner planets. Cancer ruled by the moon which literally rules over behaviour and intuition means they can easily appeal and attract anyone due to their likable nature. People find them easy to talk to and their beauty is magnetic. The moon influences the public, the tides & animals. I think that speaks volume about how magnetic cancers really are. They are natural attractors like Angelina Jolie.

In general I believe any sign or placement could become an IT Girl or Main Character placement. This is just a different take on signs that are often ignored when it comes to their influence and beauty from what I've observed.

Look Both Ways - movie review

I confess at first I was interested solely because of Lili Reinhart, which I love both as an actress and as a person, but this movie is actually very good, it has a very important message about life and how things can work out.

The main character's timelines divide when she takes two pregnancy tests. On one timeline the result is negative, and on the other is positive.

The plot develops from this point, showing that either way her life will have its ups and downs just like everyone else, and it's not the end of the world, because although things may not come out as planned, with enough hard work and support you can do what you put yourself up to.

bonus points: • diverse cast and characters (LGBT, POC - black, latino, brown...) • shows the world of animation and musicians and how artists in general are viewed and treated by society, and their struggles

I’m done with Riverdale.

I gave Riverdale and the writers of this show so many chances to fix their shit. I gave them so many chances to write better storylines, to stop with the repetitive shit, to stop writing the same boring couples every single season, to stop with the character assassination, to stop with the fan service, to try different relationships and refreshing dynamics, to stop destroying characters/couples for the sake of other characters/couples, etc. And the show just continues to let me down over and over and over again. Last night’s episode was the worst episode in Riverdale history. Relationships were destroyed left and right, characters were assassinated and written out of character. Archie was completely OOC in last night’s episode. He was a complete fucking asshole and prick. Archie in no way looked like the hero and protagonist of Riverdale. He didn’t live up to the values, ideals and standards that he claims to have. Instead, he came off as an unsympathetic, emotionless, disgusting, cheating, fickle piece of garbage douchebag. Archie Andrews is no fucking hero and the writers completely destroyed his character within 45 minutes and a single episode. He is irredeemable from my point of view and his character is beyond repair at this point. There is nothing that can fix that mess of a character. His treatment of women in general is disgusting and misogynistic. The way he treated Betty in 5x08 was absolutely abhorrent, degrading and despicable. He acted like he had zero emotions or feelings for her and that he just used her for sex. He then dumps her and runs back to the same toxic relationship with Veronica. Even after seven years, Archie hasn’t changed or grown at all.He’s still the same stupid and immature punk that he was in high school. FUCK ARCHIE ANDREWS. He’s THE WORST main character, lead, and protagonist I’ve ever seen on any show. Not even Elena Gilbert from TVD or Lucas Scott from OTH is as horrible or badly written as he is. Archie is much more of a villain than a hero. There’s nothing that the writers can do to make Archie a good character again. His character is beyond reproach and they should be ashamed to have a piece of shit like Archie leading their show. Veronica is acting like a thirsty, desperate, trampy whore throwing herself at another man while she’s still married and the ink hasn’t even dried on her divorce papers. She has revealed herself to be an extremely controlling, domineering, conniving, money hungry and manipulative bitch. She is so fucking detestable and unlikeable. I can’t root for her character. I actually HATE Veronica now and I never thought I would say that. The writers completely butchered her character just as badly as Archie’s. It’s evident that after five seasons, the writers don’t know what the fuck to do with her character but have her be Hiram’s chew toy or having her constantly chasing after Archie like some pathetic desperate hussy. She’s become the worst character on the show and she has had zero character development. All of her storylines are the same: they either revolve around her father or around men in general. Veronica is a shallow character that lacks complexity and depth. She is nothing more than Hiram Lodge with lipstick and a skirt/dress. As someone who is Latina, Veronica is a horrible representation of Latina and hispanic women in media. Veronica Lodge is an absolute embarrassment to the Hispanic and Latinx community and I’m ashamed of her character at this point. She doesn’t represent me and I don’t want her kind of character to represent my community. RAS and the writers clearly hate Camila Mendes. I can’t say that Camila’s acting is helping matters either. Betty is an emotionally unstable, whiny, pathetic doormat for Archie and a complete fucking emotional mess. She was nothing but a sex toy/booty call for Archie so that he could get his rocks off. As soon as the sex wore off, Archie and no problem with dumping her and throwing her away ;ike a dirty tissue. And Betty didn’t fight for herself. She didn’t fight for her feelings. She didn’t stand up to Archie for disrespecting her like that and using her. Archie used her for pleasure and than acted as if she were nothing to him. And Betty just fucking took it?? Why doesn't Betty just stand up for herself for once? Why doesn’t she stop being such a doormat for him and letting Archie stomp on her feelings all the time? Does she have no self respect? The one thing that makes Betty’s character somewhat salvageble is the fact that Lili Reinhart is an amazing fucking actress and for that, you can’t help but feel sympathy for her even if she’s being written as a pathetic doormat and Archie’s sex toy. Chad is a narcissistic, abusive POS who is Hiram 2.0. What was the purpose of his character on the show? Just to cause some tension between Varchie? What a waste of an actor and character. Jughead is a pathetic drunk and a lazy bum with no purpose. His sole reason for existing is to get drunk every episode, get abducted by aliens and be saved by girls. The writers are ruining my fave character on the show. Kevin is a cheating piece of shit. He has no clue what monogamy is or what a real relationship stands for and means. He’s nothing more than a walking and talking negative gay stereotype. Reggie was completely destroyed this season. They had him turn on his friends and side with Hiram, the town bully. Reggie is a complete douche and any character development he had in the earlier seasons has vanished. The writers butchered his character horribly and it’s a shame because Charles Melton is a decent dude and actor who deserves a better storyline and material. Cheryl is a sociopath with no remorse for her horrible behaviour and she treats Toni like garbage. I don’t know how Toni can stand being with her or around her. She doesn’t give a shit who she hurts in the process as long as she is creating chaos for her own amusement. Cheryl is a horrible person and the fact that she has had no development for hasn’t changed makes things worse. Also, it’s evident that Madeleine Petsch (along with the rest of the cast, LBR), is completely phoning it in all season. Her acting is terrible and cringeworthy. At this point, Cheryl is so awful and toxic that I don't think I want her to be with Toni or for Choni to reunite in the future. Toni deserves better than this red haired creature. Toni is, once again and as usual, being sidelined. I expected this to happen sooner than later. I figured that Toni would be relegated to a support character once more or to go back to being Cheryl’s punching bag. Though Toni being sidelined isn’t really her fault or the writers fault because Vanessa is on maternity leave. As if the characters haven't been destroyed, the relationships have been slaughtered and decimated left and right. Choni is toxic as fuck. Barchie was made out to be nothing of substance but sex (plus the way they got together is sickening including the cheating and the FWB plot line which amounted to nothing in the end). Bughead is an awkward repetitive and annoying bore with no chemistry. Varchie is the worst couple on the show, toxic as hell with no chemistry and takes up too much screen time. Kangs was destroyed for absolutely no reason. The only couple that has potential to be something great and substantial is Jabitha but considering the writers track record, I expect them to ruin them for Bughead. It’s only a matter of time. Tick tock. ⏰ To top it all off, the storylines are absolutely fucking ridiculous this season. Archie with his stupid overblown hero complex trying to save Riverdale? BORING. Hiram being the same boring villain AGAIN and trying to take down the same group of teenagers he was harassing seven years ago? REPETITIVE. The Mothman/Aliens storyline? We’re dealing with fucking ALIENS??? Aliens of all things? What the actual fuck are the writers smoking?! Then there’s the whole Polly storyline which is boring and repetitive.. Try something different for fucks sake. I’m not gonna get into the whole TBK nonsense which also reeks of repetitive storytelling. There's way too many plot lines and storylines being told and it’s a jumbled, incoherent mess. There’s only so much nonsense that you can take before you finally snap and say enough is enough. I’m at that point. For me to cut something or someone out of my life for good, it’s got to be something or someone really horrible. Riverdale is one of those things. Riverdale has made my viewing and fandom experience absolutely fucking miserable. It’s caused me significant upset and emotional distress because of how attached I was to these characters and relationships. Now it seems like it was all a waste. What was the point? Why did I stick around to watch the characters and the relationships on this show get butchered? The writers don’t know what the fuck they are doing. They continue to be stuck in the same rut and a time jump hasn’t fixed that. I’M DONE. There’s no more chances. The show is dead to me as are the Riverdale cast and the writers. The show should just end this season. Season 6 should either be cancelled or shortened to 10 episodes. Stop wasting the audience’s time with this garbage.

Riverdale S6 E4 (Rivervale: Witching Hour)

Fanfic has three tiers of flavor: Mellow, Tangy, and Piquant. (I’m going somewhere with this, please stay with me).  Mellow flavor intensity stays mostly within canon, and often write the ‘in between’ moments for the gaps left between the shown scenes or ‘extend’ the scenes that have already been shown.  This seems to have happened a lot in ye olde days of fanfic when people got threatened by Anne Rice etc.  Much of current fanfiction is in the Tangy variety - use some canon factors, but play  with them with a great deal of freedom, such as: Fraught romances between characters that never share the screen in canon, for example, or recast positive relationships in negative lights and vice versa.  But the most intense flavor, Piquant, does what this fourth chapter of Rivervale does - take the choicest relationships, character traits, faces, voices and bodies from canon, and then toss it into a whole different genre/century/planet/ universe and then push blend.

Chapter 4 of Rivervale is Piquant flavored - historic fiction, and using familiar faces to create unfamiliar new characters, and fix whatever the writer did not like or thought needed further explanation from what happens in canon by a combination of horror and the occult!  I also think Jughead Narrator recently watched The Hours - the Phillip Glass type music and the seamless shifting in and out of the three different eras of Cheryls was SUCH a treat to watch.

I’m going to talk about the performances given by the actors which I rarely do, but the capacity to play historical and /or entirely ‘off’ canon seems very uneven in the cast, and the three best deserve their kudos (and I just also wanna just flail about my faves).

Cheryl:

This is obviously a Cheryl-centric episode, and I love these. Petsch is the lesser-sung lead actress of this show (the most praised for various reasons is Reinhart), and in many ways what she’s asked to do in normal times is to be the counterpart to Reinhart. Bring the camp to contrast to Reinhart’s emotional realism, the showy sparkle to highlight the warm Bughead/Jabitha glow.  Cheryl is a ‘big’ character, and Petsch gives ‘big’ performances, which is why these Cheryl-centric episodes feel like events to me.

Petsch physically has a *lot* going on:  Other than her BMI, everything about her is huge (eyes, lips, sheer mouth size, the *amount* of hair, elasticity of facial muscles) and bold, and this excess unexpectedly makes her look convincing in all the different eras of costume she’s asked to wear.   No matter what, she still looks like herself.  The other person who pulls this off is Reinhart, but that’s because the operative image of the picture book white girl prettiness that she embodies has not actually changed that much over time. And really, very few people alive could pull off that giant red wedding gown with the red veil.  Iconic, and she manages to look classical, demure and absolutely unhinged all at the same time. (Yes, this, more than the blood covered white wedding night dress lol).  

She’s best able to deliver the show’s arch approximations of how people nowadays expect people of those former eras to talk.  Cheryl always had odd rhythms and an ornately campy lines to begin with, but Petsch delivered weird-to-us sounding lines that are supposed to be period-correct (“I WOULD have the truth from you”) with the appropriate amount of sincerity, kept free of camp.

The Rivervale thesis about Cheryl is that in every era, she is gay. In every era she is some sort of cult leader/ teacher of women.  In every era she is highly problematic, not just for that era but for our current sensibilities as well.  

And this is just a weird mind-game I’m engaging in but IF we posit this is a thing written by Jughead from Riverdale OH BOY HE NEEDS TO LEARN SOME THINGS about which lesbian tropes to avoid. Cheryl has the strange fixation on her ‘soulmate’ brother, but she otherwise despises men to a degree that borders on outright misandry. Maybe I just know the choicest lesbians (this is possible) but gay women really do not care about men all this much. They just don’t think about men that much at all unless a particular dude is being a nuisance to them in particular.   Cheryl though says things like “I have no need for women with husbands” and  “Men are such monsters.”  She sincerely, kindly advises women to lightly poison (so you can go work) or drug (so you can get more sex) or fatally poison (instead of getting a divorce) their husbands .  She has a persistent horror of heterosexual sex and pregnancy - and it’s a strange touch that the episode left open whether Bitsy was enduring marital rape or just that she didn’t want to have another baby.  This is a weirdly retrograde and straight-man focused way of conceptualizing a lesbian character who moreover is completely aware of and accepts her own homosexuality.

The explanation provided by this episode - that Cheryl never existed and she’s been Abigail Blossom, under a cursed immortality, all this time - serves as a neat fan-fic type ‘explanation’ for why Canon Riverdale Cheryl is so ‘off.’  She talks strangely, for one (“Nay! Cousin!” or  “Pray tell” as Cheryl would be her Abigail self bursting forth) and has strange retrograde ideas (s1 disbelief of the girls who report abuse by football players).  It’s audacious, which is fun, but imperfect because it leaves so much unexplained. For example, does the Abigail self retain awareness of her past lives as she keeps moving forward in time? How was it that Nana Blossom was able to tell all those whackadoo stories about ‘the past’? 

But see, asking questions like this takes all the fun out of both Riverdale the show and fanfic in general. Accept the premises and engage, or fuck off, really.

In any case - Cheryl has been an odd mix of highly entitled and highly vulnerable, and the triptych self shown in this episode posits that the headstrong, high-handed parts came from Abigail, and Poppy Blossom was 100% heart and feeling.   Cheryl the modern iteration whiplashed between the two.  This performance is a rendering of the same person in three radically different eras, in contrast to what Sprouse is doing, which to create entirely different people with the same face. 

By the way - At the school the only girl ever allowed to speak is Britta. This is a problem. The other girls - some not white even! - are literally set decoration.

Bitsy:

The chemistry and heat between Bitsy and Cheryl kind of threw into high relief how I unpersuasive I find Choni on screen. I adore the idea of Choni - Cheryl loving someone like Toni, who is consistently smart, the voice of reason and a source of kindness to her peers despite being from circumstances as dire as Jughead’s is adorable.  Cheryl being unable to sustain the kind of relationship that Toni would want was also an interesting development. But. Performance-wise, these two actresses do not generate heat, and it’s not to do with their actual personal lives.  When Petch’s limpid, you-make-me-weak adoring gazes finds its match like it does in the performance that Rheinhardt gives as Bitsy, I’m thrown right into the Ye Olde Lesbian Pulp fictions I used to read (Ann Bannon fans in the house perhaps??). All the yearning! The internal conflict! The swallowed tears! The passion!

I don’t think this was the intention, but the first Bitsy x Poppy kiss is followed by the first Abigail x Tomasina kiss and the LACK of romantic energy in the second pairing was just thrown into high relief. 

The scene at the jail where Bitsy shows her real despair and the retreats back to compulsive heterosexuality was a really marvelous bit of acting.  The fact that Bitsy smiles as she prepares to murder her husband through poison is the kind of wrong headed ‘women should just kill bad men’ type of thinking that keeps getting mischaracterized as feminism and lets men who do the everyday work of keeping women down (WHICH IS MOST OF THEM) off the hook as long as they are not actively daily raping someone.  Get outta here.

Jack:

We open with Jughead narrator who is  one of two characters that Sprouse plays here. Jughead Narrator is hard eyed and sarcastic.  We walk through the very well appointed, living museum house that is Thornhill. 

After Jughead Narrator comes Jack (No Last Name and not a Jones, probably? - is he a Jones??). Jack is actually menacing, and in a grounded way.  The absolute dislike, as well as what I immediately thought of as Anti-Choice rage in his face!  Very affecting because 99% of what I associate with this actor’s face is looking adoringly, almost on the verge of tears, at different people (Betty, Archie, FP, Jellybean, Gladys).  He is doing a LOT without being overbearing about it (compare to the inability of Kevin’s actor being able to do anything other than Kevin in period cosplay or Fang’s actor utterly unable to deliver ‘period’ lines).  The yanking Bitsy forward to say the coerced line about wanting another baby and pushing her back, and the glaring down at his wife with the same hatred as he does Poppy - nicely done.  And moreover, the kermit-froggy adolescent quaver he has in this voice somehow added to the general misogynist-on-a-bender frisson. When the mob of husbands comes to visit Poppy to threaten her, the only one that I was alarmed to see was Jack, leaning just so against the door frame, unabashed hatred on his face.  When Poppy shows up at the diner, he’s so furious he absolutely runs out of words.  If I used my compact and saw someone looking at the back of my head like that I would also cry.   And really the conspiracy of the men of the McCarthy Era playing with words this way - you won’t have to come back to THIS CELL - seemed so likely, and I liked the bold erasure of most real world details (due process, etc) for the drama of storytelling.

I found it amusing to consider that despite the sheer TERROR he had for her at the start and the weird stories and runaround she gave him as an adult, Narrator/ Riverdale Jughead has enough respect for Nana Blossom to give her body a calm send off into the Witchy Beyond and her soul a new start in a banging young body.  Well done.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t think any of the main cast members in Riverdale have chemistry. Betty/Jughead have really bad chemistry and that’s partly due to coles caring abilities, or lack there of. Cole can’t emote; he often has a blank expression and can’t bounce off Lily’s expressions. Veronica/Archie are two hot people that the writers decided to throw into a relationship but they little chemistry. Betty/Veronica don’t really have friendship chemistry. They are always standing too far apart, like they’re acquaintances. There is a scene where Veronica puts her head on Betty’s shoulder and Betty looks stiff and doesn’t lean into her. The cast doesn’t mesh too well.

In shows like Gossip Girl, Dawson’s Creek, and One Tree Hill, the characters have great on screen chemistry as a group and with individual characters. Even though GG is a crappy show, the cast meshes really well onscreen. Serena and Blair’s body language suggests they’re best friends. Same with Nate and Chuck, I buy them as best friends even though I don’t see what Chuck and Nate have in common or what they offer eachother. In OTH Hayley and Brooke have the kind of chemistry that Betty and Veronica should have.

Oh you and me are going to fight anon! (I kid, I kid)

I am going put it out there that I, personally, do not value chemistry as much as a lot of people do and to expand further that the concept of chemistry is actually more subjective and dependent on the individual viewer than what a lot of fandom (any fandom) believes.

To start, I disagree with a lot fandoms’ supposition that chemistry is something that solely comes from actors, and while they do have some play in it, I also think that the writing, cinematography, direction, editing and music/sound design have just as much if not more of an impact on chemistry than actors’ performances. Remember you have people who are not the actors choosing the shots they used and how they are cutting those shots together. Television is not live theater, it is closer to film and movies than that.

So to being it back to Riverdale, I actually argue that any chemistry issues on the show are more due to the writing then to the cast. Riverdale is and has never really been that good at writing relationships and I think that is what shows. Like I agree that I don’t think that either Bughead or Varchie has that much chemistry, but I see that more on the writing then on Reinhart/Sprouse/Mendes/Apa, the material they are given to work is not great (especially when it comes to Veronica and Archie). Like the reason I didn’t jump on the Bughead train wasn’t because they lacked chemistry but had everything to do with I didn’t read their relationship as romantic until they kissed in episode 6, and so for me the show didn’t earn their get together or establish why them being romantic w/ each other was a natural progression of their relationship. And post get together pretty much all their scenes have read to me like solely to be there for the fans of said ship and not things that play into any narrative or relationship arc. (Riverdale is generally terrible at character arcs and most any part of holistic cohesive story telling). And that’s not a chemistry issue that is a writing issue.

Same thing with Betty and Veronica, of course they aren’t going to have friendship chemistry, s sq of like the first few episodes they have not been on screen with each other or worked on the same plots together so there is nothing there. Like I think that they actually have wonderful chemistry at the beginning of s1, it is just that the writers chose not to go anywhere with it lpbecause they are idiots. I personally love their chemistry (whether you are seeing it platonically or romantically) but it remains to date one of RD��s biggest flaws and was ultimately one of the reasons why I stopped watching the show.

Which brings me to my final point, a lot of times “chemistry” is also something supplied by the audience. I see a lot of people in different fandoms talk about chemistry or lack thereof and it really corresponds to how they genuinely feel. If they like the ship they see chemistry, if they don’t like the ship it doesn’t have chemistry. I think a lot of people like to use chemistry as a reason when they can’t put into words why we do or don’t like a ship. We all seem to have a hard time just accepting that sometimes we just like a thing and sometimes we don’t. We all come into these things with our own experiences and world views and to think that those don’t color our feelings or how we see things then we are kidding ourselves. We all have biases and the more we can accept just how subjective and particular to us our opinions are the happier we’d all be I think.

The Riverdale 102(?)-Day Sprint, Day 6: “Chapter Ninety-Two: Band of Brothers”

War!

This is it, the farthest afield I’ve been yet, very close to the mythical uncharted lands of Season 6. I’ve heard so much about that – Archie maybe dying, joining the Army, and other insanity. But before we get to today’s episode I want to clear the air about something. I say a lot of mean things about this show, but I want to make it clear I hold absolutely no ill will towards any of the cast. On the contrary, I think the cast does a genuinely fantastic job, simply because they aren’t all constantly breaking character and guffawing at the stuff they have to read. I especially want to highlight Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, and Camila Mendes, who play Betty, Jughead, and Veronica respectively. Those characters seem to get the worst sub and main plots, moreso than Archie (although KJ Apa does a fine job as well). That all being said... Chapter Ninety-Two. I’m excited.

Well turns out I was dead wrong.

The infamous flash-forward is here in S5, and it turns out I’ve landed with it in full swing. I’m not sure if it was throughout the whole season or just in the second half, but every single character is doing something equally astounding and unbelievable (except for Veronica, who is continuing to re-enact the plot of Succession [I assume the two are similar but I’ve never seen it]). Let’s see the damage:

Archie went to WW1, exactly as the rumors said. Yes it is still in present day, approximately 5 years in the future in fact, but it is still decidedly WW1. There’s trenches and it’s in Europe and the guns are old. Apparently Archie’s squad, which he was the sergeant of, was used as a personal hit squad sent on a suicide mission at the behest of a corrupt commanding officer. All of his squad is brutally killed except for one, who survives with a missing leg. In today’s episode Archie gets the evil general court-martialed, and is successful. The tribunal happens off-screen, and we don’t see Archie doing anything during or after it except celebrating so... why?

Jughead’s story isn’t 100% clear to me. He becomes an alcoholic writer/teacher burnout, just like his grandfather before him, and apparently he descended into this spiral after unceremoniously abandoning Betty. This episode we see him try to pass off a former friend’s book as his own, only to repent and relent at the last second. Again... why?

Turns out Betty did actually decide to become an FBI agent at Charles’ behest – she’s even doing vigilantism in an attempt to avenge her younger sister’s death, hunting an elusive serial killer. So basically Dexter but different.

Cheryl Blossom is now a pastor, and Kevin her... assistant? I guess? Anyway, Cheryl’s mom wants to lead the flock so to upstage her Cheryl decides to become a Saint by performing three miracles as if they’re magic tricks. I don’t think that’s how any of that works.

And last and least we have Veronica, who seems to have gotten the shaft once again. Her plot is the least changed, seemingly; she’s still butting heads with her dad on the business scene, and she sure is doing business. Not sure what business but... she’s doing it. #girlboss or whatever.

I feel like I was submerged in a sensory deprivation tank and I am just now being pulled out, kicking and screaming, begging for oblivion again. I genuinely thought people were kidding when they told me about some of this stuff. I can’t understand why the showrunners would decide to pull this flash-forward out of their ass like this. Maybe I’d understand if it was the final season, but this is Season 5. Season 6 exists, we know it does. I am well and truly lost now, and it hasn’t even been a week yet. Let me tell you something, dear reader; I don’t see myself finishing this endeavor whole. I fear I may lose a part of myself I’ll never get back if I continue, and yet continue I will, because I always keep my promises. I’ll see this through to the end, which hopefully entails the entire town of Riverdale and all of its inhabitants being completely wiped from the face of the Earth. Given the amount of serial killers that town produces it’d probably be doing humanity a service.

Tomorrow: “Chapter Eighty-One: The Homecoming” aw darnit another S5 episode. My kingdom for a return to the halcyon days of Season 1, where everything was simple, with only 1 murder mystery happening at a time.

Hello there! I’m still working on my next story... can’t say when I’ll be done, but to tease a little, it has a supernatural theme. It is multi-chap. The last chapter I wrote is almost 40 pages.

You may be newer to my page, so I’ll share again. I don’t know Lili or Cole. I refrain from engaging in their personal business, talking about it or speculating on it. It’s their business. I don’t even talk about MY personal business on here much. I’m tired of seeing people’s support/lack there of all over tumblr. Maybe we leave them alone. It’s not our business so I won’t comment. My blog is strictly for writing mindless fic about characters I enjoy and reading trash.

Honestly more things are pointing to a permanent separation for SH. No indications of any reconciliation sadly. And it makes it even harder without the confirmation. Good day, anon, and welcome to hell. Screams for help will not save you, alas, because when it comes to a topic in which I am 99, 9% sure, I have no equals. I'm sorry you probably got the wrong address, but it's too late. I am merciless and bloodthirsty with anyone who tries to contradict my faith, tries to correct my point of view and convince me of their own, although I did not give it a reason. Because it's my fucking blog where I for x-billionth time has already expressed my exact points and agreed with some people which think and proved the exact opposite to all that you are saying. So be prepared to be slowly but surely tortured by my long ass post.

 So, let's start with what I said about my blog: only good vibes here. I am not interested/concerned about other opposite/negative feedings. I just don't want to make a big deal about it. Here, in my blog, we support Lili Pauline Reinhart and Cole Mitchell Sprouse in any case as couple as well as individuals.

 This means that under no circumstances do we talk about them, their relationships, their projects, their family, or their decisions in a negative way. Yes, we may disagree with something they do, where they do it, and how they do it (what they post, what they like/don't like, write or repost, who they meet, with whom they decide to be, live and communicate with, what they archive/unarchive, and so on), but we do not have the right to judge them or decide how to act. We also can't control it and it's none of our business.

 I repent if I once made the appearance of a person condemning one of them or their family for their actions and possible causes of the separation, it was only my objective external disagreement, points and thoughts aloud, nothing more rude, involved and inappropriate. And I think with many of my words said earlier (or the words of those I follow and reblog their posts) about the behavior of family/friends of Lili, Cole, and so on, people with brains and common sense could agree. Remember this, or write it on your forehead, so that the next time you write to me, you will see these words.

 Moving on, taking into account all of the above, I would like to tell you that it probably won't be enough for one blog to explain to you point by point all my beliefs and points of view on this subject, to prove to you that every fucking word you say is illogical shit and the most real nonsense. It feels like you're an alien who fell from another planet and decided to crawl into our hole with your impressions of a newborn baby who doesn't understand much about the world and its creators. Although in this case, I'm more of the opinion that you are a little asshole, in which the vein of hatred is boiling and you like to come to this and some other blogs to tell us your agenda although we have no idea where you have such rash thoughts, perhaps you have an extra chromosome? Dude, treat your paranoia.

 Further, given that I don't have much time and desire to describe all my points of view point by point, which, unlike your random set of words, really makes sense for hundreds or even thousands of people who have the gray matter to be able to think, I will attach my long - standing post, indicating all the facts at that time proving the opposite to yours. Although, I will try to supplement everything else as much as I can.

 While, we all ( I hope) already realized and accepted that for many reasons, during this quarantine, Lili and Cole had some problems, were distant and ended up apart for a certain period of time, immediately after the end point of the explosion and informing us of all these public actions on social media (I hope you understand), then after a few weeks, they were already confidently moving towards resolution and recovery and that's why:

This was written long before, but still has many valid points and I just want to widen some of them.

Take a sit and follow me word by word.

I shall start my addition of evidence, based on all the guesses and great opinions of others, as well as hints from the Lili and Cole themselves. I would like to start with a significant event and the day when Lili posted a photo from the Antelope Valley on April 28th, well, or 27th, depending on where you are.

Perhaps we lose some missing pieces in this puzzle and forget about something that was done earlier, but I just want to start counting from this moment.

A few facts about this photo/photos:

1) It was posted exactly 3 years later from their famous photoshoot, when very, very, very many people, mostly in media, began to suspect that there is something between them in a romantic way. It was exactly in the same place, exactly with the same style, exactly in a similar image (waving curly hair, light flying dress, black and white effect) and even without a capture. The picture marked the anniversary and is very important for the two of them. An undeniable fact, beat me.

2) That photo was definitely taken by Cole. Why?

Here are a couple more facts in addition to the first:

They have the quality of captured on professional camera.

You can see, that Lili did not tag the photographer and said jokingly that the photo was taken by Milo, why would she lie, or hide that it was anyone else, because clearly she just hid that because it was Cole.

You may have noticed that Austin, when asked who took the photo, whether she took it and whether she is a good photographer, says no and her reaction with a grin and laugh is priceless. She also didn't tag nor the photographer, neither Lili in her photos from there.

You can watch the vlog in the Colleen blog and see there are very similar figures to Cole, Lili and Milo walking along the valley, because, duh, they were there.

You can view her post, where you can see Cole from the back (notice his dark clothing, the same as on one of his post in the profile, which he has already deleted, as well as his position from which the photo of Lili was supposedly taken and it is just in the same place).

You can observe his style of photography and how similar the theme is to the photos from 2017.

You may have noticed that the photo of Lili is processed with the same effect as several photos in Cole's profile, and I can tell you as an amateur photo editor that it is very identical.

Question: why arrange such a significant photoshoot with your ex after a few weeks of separation? Why is Cole smiling in a photo (black and white one with a mustache and black clothes) probably taken there? Why is everything so secretive if they broke up? Why even post a photo that your ex-boyfriend definitely took? How can you calmly go to this place, which reminds you of your joint travels with your former lover? Therefore, this photo and later another one from there were the first iron arguments in confirming the improvement of things.

 I would like to continue with another ironclad proof.

Lili in early may very fiercely, after a few weeks of Cole's statements about slander and threats, which she did not respond to so clearly at the time, defended Cole and pointed out the private relationship and literally said that people should stop it and even though should hurt and bully her, but not him.

Question: did she defend her ex so publicly? Would Lili talk about a private relationship if that was the way her past relationship was most often? Would she have written anything at all if she didn't care about him and didn't feel something towards him? I don't think so, so it's gibberish to say so (about the break up) when it's the second unquestionable argument.

 Next, we need to talk about the general activity of Cole and Lili in social media. I just want to list some observations, in different order, but it seems like everything we have now:

If earlier it was visible in the posts of Lili that it was clearly a show off, then over time and after the published photos, she began to behave more sincerely and tenderly, began to publish Milo less, began to say that there was only the two of them less, has stopped showing how good she is without certain someone, as if for Cole showing that she could cope without him, which was visible in the posts and stories, she began to talk more about improving her mental health as a result of training, spoke about how later she was feeling better and that she was grateful for those who were with her and difficult times and in light moments, that you just need to live and enjoy.

Additionally, I can say how she shone with each photo, and it was a natural glow of happiness and settling down. She no longer sang sad songs or posted sad songs, on the contrary, posted sexy, funny and relaxed ones. She appeared more in photos taken by paparazzi. She posted sexy, energetic, romantic movies, funny cartoons, watched funny clips, was excited about her project, laughed, danced with her dog, played with a dog with macaroni, cosplayed Willy Wonka (we all have a feeling it’s Cole’s thing, no?), playing with sand, puzzles, posted funny memes in story, which unfortunately coolly accepted as the opposite, posted a poem with a typo and funny answered to a fan who corrected it, told more about poems and attached a photo with a fragment of a poem about love from her upcoming book. She liked some photos from the anniversary of the last episode of the series, where we remember there was a hot scene of her and Cole's character, she liked a Bughead drawing. Yesterday, she actually posted one of the sexiest videos that will not be posted, being single and lonely, we saw that she actually spent more personal time with Cole (I am not saying they weren’t doing t back then), which was investigated thanks to many amazing people here, and even if they don't live together yet, they are more likely to meet and have met with each other, and more hints on sexy times (because, come one, maybe Milo was the one who left a hickey on her neck, huh?), which is undeniable, just compare the fact that she is no longer in the old rental, and he is not in Kj's house, she then posted a photo from some place, which is very similar to where Cole shot a video with Jimmy Fallon.

 He also began to be more active in social networks, exactly after she started posting photos of the Antelope Valley, he posted a series of photos of the kissing couple, even if it was a gay drawings, they were filled with love, there was a photo of him with cattle with the sarcastic caption, then the photo about porn bots, with funny ask to leave him alone and saying it’s not allowed to be horny on quarantine, again a photo of himself with heart eyes that I talked about above, he posted a very funny video recently. There were more photos from the paparazzi after some time when Lili's usually flashed, and then it stopped, then his humorous photo in the washing machine appeared, which she probably had taken, and why so I explained in the attached post, he posted a photo from the walk, which was also probably taken with her, because again, she had a similar location, then he jokingly called Tommy ‘the’ muse, maybe roasting fans, but he didn’t use ‘my’, so, indicating he still has his own muse, then we saw him at that damn party, which caused people's panic, although he is an ordinary person and has the right to relax, and by the way at this party he was very happy and frisky, but nothing bad or shameful happened and he is innocent, then we even saw Cole, after Lili, delete many of the photos, although he had also unarchived some of them several times, as she had, which means that he did not delete them completely, but just removed many of them, leaving the most tender photo after or before the kiss at the famous moment when Lili wanted a toast and eggs at 1 am, or many photos reflecting her body, which also marks not a bad phenomenon, but a simple trolling from them. Proof of this trolling and unarchiving is on the vastness of other blogs and on Twitter, thanks to that girl's video.

 The way their condition and activity on social networks have changed is very noticeable and is also third undeniable fact of denial of the break up. You can compare photos of Cole taken by Alex, where he is clearly very sad and depressed, because it was taken somewhere in the interval of their real breakup. And compare this with his smiling and playful state during the interview with Jimmy, where he also sparkled with happiness and fun, constantly smiling and seemed to be aroused about something (or someone). I think even a newcomer will notice a change in their mood and attitude. You will see the difference. YESS GIRL! finally someone talked about the king of fake deeps cole sprouse! His like luka sabbat but 10x of that, and a misplaced self entitlement. I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME STAND THAT MAN!

When he first started gaining popularity I thought he was cute but nothing to write home abput, but then I slowly started noticing behavior that irked me, I didn't know why at the time. I followed him on insta and it got worse. He pretty much had this haughty sort of persona, would never admit his wrong, and go on tangents speaking about social issues but sounding like his lecturing us ( his audience) like here you go peasents type of thing!

And then him and lili reinhart started dating... Lawd. She slowly started mimicking his condescending language, and they were always in some kind of controversy, and just.. it was not a good look lol.

But I gotta they were kinda a match made in heaven, both of them really lack the ability to be self aware, and are childishly stubborn when they get called out for their mistakes, never apologize for the mistakes and when they do, it comes across " sorry your sensitive!1!1!1!1 "

+ remember when his ex girlfriend from nyu called him out on his narcissistic behavior on tumblr? And then she got influx of hate and people basically not believing her, I believe she deleted her account or something? But if anything she said about him was true, I could definitely see him being the kind of person who puts down others for their precieved inferiority and lack of intellectualism.. his very much the poster boy for most of the rich college kids in liberal arts, so pretentious.

I was OVER it when he tweeted about reverse racism and how it’s a real thing lmao. Also, he’s the WORST in interviews - never lets anyone else talk, thinks he’s the funniest person to walk the planet, and always thinks he’s the smartest person in the room. 

I’ll actually defend Lili here because she’s young and obviously looked to him for guidance as someone who’s had years in the industry. She’s so much more likable now that she’s no longer dating him so I think a lot of it was her trying to impress him by mimicking his opinions/mannerism. I also sympathize with her a lot since Cole seemed to have cheated on her multiple times throughout their relationship and the only time she had away from him was whenever they’re not filming the show (probably why they kept getting back together). That couldn’t have been easy and I can’t imagine it would be easy now, having to work with him/see him everyday onset, especially when the show runners seem hellbent on making their characters stay together/making them end game. The only thing I’ll continue to fault Lili on is her blatantly dismissing the abuse/toxic manner in which Cole treated his ex. I get that he most likely fed her all sort of bs so that she’d believe that his ex-girlfriend was the ‘crazy’ one and hence, she stood firm on the fact that his ex lied on him. I think Lili owes her an apology for that, especially when Cole was far from a model boyfriend when they were together.

I don't know if they could get away with it at this point, but there are some writers and producers who would love to either replace this B+ list mostly television actress from this hit almost network non superhero show or have her character killed off. I think every person is scared there is going to be a very public meltdown and want to get ahead of it. One downside is whether it would make her co-star boyfriend upset. Honestly, I think he is always looking out for himself first so wouldn't raise a peep.
