One day a faceless Minecrafter will become famous. His skin is just a normal white dude with hair. One day he face reveals,, he is bald. His fans are shocked and embarrassed because they had been drawing him with hair. Lol
is this not just boomerna

I was so caught up in the euphoria of librarianship I forgot that a) there are active communities of haters now and b) reading rec culture is NOT what it used to be

only tangentially related to that last post but anyway shoutout to when i avoided mentioning that i was in a relationship on here for over a year because some insane part of my brain was convinced everyone following me only liked me because they thought i was hot. which made literally no sense for many reasons including but not limited to the fact that i have never posted a single photo of myself

I want to make a longer post about this someday but: I think Arya's TWOW arc is going to include her coming to terms with her identity as a Lady. This has been an ongoing conflict with her since her first chapter and I think her flowering in winds is going to mark a turning point. The theory of her having an apprenticeship with the courtesans holds a lot of weight and the idea of Arya going through puberty among a group of unconventional women she's fostered a positive relationship with is just too perfect. It would really have an impact on Arya reconciling her personal idea of what a Lady should be. There's also a lot that she could learn from them in terms of courtesies, communication, appearances, body-language, etc. that would elevate her current skill-set and ways her relationship with them could push the plot.
Not to mention she will undoubtedly reclaim her identity as Arya Stark, and her being a Lady is inseparable from that. Arya Stark is a Lady Stark and being a Lady is a social position, not a measure of how well someone preforms feminine tasks. She shouldn't have to relinquish her position because she doesn't fit patriarchal standards. That's not to say that she's ever going to be the perfect example of a traditional Lady but what I think will happen is that she becomes capable of playing the part. She plays several identities throughout the series but she's always been Arya underneath, so I think it's appropriate that she learns to adopt a "persona" that's part of her. Her remembering Ned putting on his "Lord's face" (+ the various examples of other characters being separate from their ruling persona) makes me think that Arya will be donning her "Lady's face" when she makes a return to Westeros.

Thinking about the fact that if Bradford was recruiting from the US, and we take Shredder's line about how he was having Bradford build him an army to mean the Foot soldiers we see are the ones Bradford recruited... it's likely most of the Foot we see in canon barely know who the Shredder is? I mean can you imagine.
Like there's this guy Bradford talked about when he recruited you, and by joining up you owe him your loyalty someday or something? But it barely seems to have anything to do with you because the Big Boss stays in like, the crime family version of the home office over in Japan.
Then he shows up one day and takes over everything (and your boss is a dog now?? you guess???) and commands you to fight these turtle children, and then after you get the crap kicked out of you by said children he replaces you with robots???? But also you can't quit because the Shredder will definitely kill you. So.

Ok I'm thinking about buying Elden Ring. It's kinda expensive, though there's a slight sale rn. I'm pretty sure I'll like it. But still, I don't really know the plot and the price is hefty

Not gonna lie, both vindicating but also deeply sad that every single literary magazine I've looked at recently, having visited those site in the past, has edited their submission requirements to specify that AI work will not be considered.
And at the same time, I'm extremely fearful of how many writers are going to give up writing when it becomes impossible to tell AI from real anymore, and markets are utterly saturated with content to the point that getting anything published is nearly impossible as scammers try to make some quick change.
I imagine it wouldn't be worth it in the long run as a scam, because it doesn't exactly pay to write these days even prior to this, so it may then die out within a couple of years, though that might be optimistic given the plagiarism that makes it into the Amazon self-publishing realm. But even still, I do worry that in the meantime it's going to push writers out and force already struggling lit mags to shut down, and I'm so, so worried about it.

If each of your whumper ocs were to get whumped by another of your whumper ocs, who would be the most effective whumper for whom? (Assume they're all separate situations, so the answers don't affect each other.)
Mercury would probably be most affected by Peter, due to his general unpredictability and not having much reason behind anything besides "I'm bored". She enjoys structure, dammit.
Uriah... man, he wouldn't hold up against any of these guys lol. The Interrogator would probably be the worst. Just being brought to the brink of death over and over again, only to be healed and thrown back into the cycle.
Vic would be most affected by Mercury, hands down. Being dragged through bad memories and, once she's gotten enough practice, having his mind and memories altered, would be terrible for him due to how far out of his control it is.
The Interrogator... Probably also Mercury lol, for the same reason. They also wouldn't thrive with the Lex Treatment (borderline solitary confinement for a year, then forced to obey an arrogant twat)
Peter would probably have the hardest time with Vic. He's died plenty of times already, and in variously horrifying ways, so pain doesn't faze him too badly. But under Vic, he'd probably be constantly drugged/sedated (which he would hate), would probably be physically violated (hasn't experienced that before) and would be forced into a strict schedule/pattern of behavior (he hates having to follow rules or structure)
Greer is a tossup between Mercury and The Interrogator. Doubting his own memories would not be great, but neither would the repeated, unrelenting mutilation
