Listen, while I still lowkey want Logan Lerman to make an appearance in the pjo show I, jokingly, was on the Paul Blofis train, but now, what if he played the og Perseus from the myths? Walk with me, the show already opened up with Percy standing before the statue of his namesake, something that's important to the narrative (both book and show) because he was one of the few heroes who was happy. What if, during some scene where Percy is possibly pushed to his limits OR just finished a battle and came out as a hero he bumps into this random, but otherworldly, man who, in passing, gives him some advice or whatever. Percy ask who he is, only to find out the man he's named after is standing right in front of him---hold on!

(And then we see a glimpse or even get a scene with Andromeda---who is depicted as a black woman like she should be---and Annabeth, like Rick, the opportunity is there!)

While all three of my beloved Terror Lieutenant Ships are still technically in the running for the yuri tournament, I just want to say they ARE all yuri. to me. Specifically they are all different delightful flavors of lesbian stereotype.

Hodgving for instance are hashtag girlbestfriends. Absolute Jennifer's Body situation. They are two little girls playing house and snuggling together Too Much during sleepovers and "practicing kissing". They are a maid of honor speech where it's painfully desperately obvious that she's in love with the bride. They are Good Luck Babe Dot MP3. Starts at choir practice and ends with a body count.

Hodglittle on the other hand are an actual established butch4femme couple. Hodge after three hours: Ok I'm ready to leave the house! Ned: [tossing on one final jacket on top of her five layers of clothes] Wonderful darling you look so pretty let's go. Also by established I mean yes they uhauled it immediately after meeting. And yes that was a mistake but they're In It Together Now. Codependent and loving it.

Meanwhile Nedving are just two classic useless lesbians. Probably too shy to ever even meet each other irl. Ned will just keep posting pictures of like, a pony and a lamb sleeping cuddled up in a meadow and tagging them "#me and who" while Jirv keeps liking every post and being too nervous to say a single word to her. The height of romance and repression and also agonizing stupidity.

What's so fun about BruJay as a ship is Jason's sheer obsessive devotion to Bruce. Jason is possessive over Bruce, to the point he doesn't care about the deaths of others so long as he has Bruce's attention. A part of the UTRH arc this isn't talked about enough is that Bludhaven fucking explodes mid-way and Jason won't let Bruce see if Dick is alive.

A lot of discussion about UTRH paints Jason as this anger-driven cold, calculating machine up against Bruce when it's so clear that his love for Bruce is what drives him at his root, even if he won't acknowledge it. He says it himself, he would've done anything if it was Bruce who'd died instead of him and his anger is rooted in that possessive devotion not being reciprocated.

BruJay as a ship always to be, to some level, unrequited. Even if Bruce loves Jason back in that way, he'll never be that obsessed with Jason. Jason will always view Bruce's love for Dick or Tim to be a distraction, proof that Bruce isn't dedicated enough to him. Jason has the need to always have Bruce's attention, even when it could come at the cost of Bruce's other loved ones. Something something cannibalism as a metaphor for love in how Jason wants to consume Bruce's whole existence. He can't let Bruce leave him again, can't let Bruce love or grieve anyone else. Forcing Bruce to choose between Jason and the Joker isn't just about confronting Jason's killer, it's about confronting the other person who exists as this duality with Bruce and consumes so much of Bruce's life. That's the role Jason wants to fill, calling himself Red Hood and forcing Bruce to look at what he's become. But still loving Bruce and wanting more than anything for Bruce to reciprocate that love in the way that Jason understands. I just think it's good soup and rife with Dynamics that are underexplored with them.

People complaining about Tsukasa5 already are pissing me off, because like, it's so unbelievably obvious what this event is trying to do and the fact that people are so hung up on "urgh dur tsukasa strong why can't he do a wall climb".

Like, first of all, a lot of Tsukasa's strength has been used as comedy before and also it's never been said that Tsukasa could specifically do a wall climb before so people calling this a retcon or a stretch is really dumb to me.

Sure we can make jokes about it, but this is not like a serious writing problem or anything.

Also are we just gonna ignore the fact this event is literally just a reference to his 3rd event in a silly trenchcoat. Or the fact that this is obviously meant to be WxS's downtime and training arc to prepare them to face the loose plotpoints in the future?

His inner dialogue when chasing the ninja is very clearly a reference to the whole Pheonix thing, how he can't reach it no matter how hard he tries.

The wall climb is like an extremely fucking on the nose metaphor to him climbing over his issues as an actor.

THERE IS ALSO THE WHOLE THING THAT HINTS THAT TSUKASA CAN ONLY OVERCOME HIS PROBLEMS IF HE HAS HELP FROM OTHERS (AKA tsukasa would've literally BEEN INJURED, if it wasn't for the fact the troupe's leader was there).

In fact this literally followed an event aka Tsukasa 4 where he FAILED to do his role correctly.

It's almost like this event is meant to be a transition point between Tsukasa 4 and 6, where Tsukasa builds up the knwoledge on how to face his problems.

But no this is just mid event because it's very silly and "wow plot is stupid why can't tsukasa wall climb".

hmm... had to think about this for a while and talk about it with co-author, but here's what we got. we mostly base this stuff on how plausible it is in show/if there's evidence for it. with a dash of personal experience. This only applies to residuum, btw. I have different personal headcanons for these characters outside the comic.

april: lesbian. this is mostly based off of the fact that most aprils get with their caseys & the comment she said to dale. which could be taken as disinterest in dale specifically, but she seemed more concerned with impressing that popular girl earlier and that reads as more... saphic, i suppose. or at the very least homoromantic.

raph: raph is just raph. we look at him and basically just *tv static*. go crazy. all we got is jokes or stuff that has too little evidence to support. so, yeah, he's whatever you want him to be i guess?

leo: trans. already said my reason in the other post. also, gay. if gay were a power source he could power the entirety of the united states for five months straight without a single power outage. failing power grid notwithstanding (< thats the actual word. its supposed to be mushed together like that. wack.).

donnie: as much as i'd like him to be ace/aro spectrum rep, he just doesn't have the evidence in show for us to apply it to him in this comic. it's funny, for being hc as ace so often he sure is the most outwardly romantic/sexual turtle in the show lmao. one! cherry: "you're so cute, but you're so mean! why do i always go for your type?" two! astrogirl??
