Saint’s musical career is very complicated. bcuz he’s my favorite fuzzy lil guy, and therefore gets to play all my favorite songs. heres a funny tidbit
In his debut band with Hunter and Arti (named Rot Zombie), he never spoke. Never sung, laughed, barely ever opened his mouth in public. Not even in interviews. When pressed for why, he wrote down the words “just cuz” on a piece of paper.

#if the rumors are true about hs4#which im still just. vibing about i dont have an opinion here or there#BUT if they are#i really do hope he delves more into the rock scene#imo hs1 is his best record when it comes to seeing his long-term potential#and fine line features elements of rock that was prevalent in hs1#i just think harry's stage persona and interests work so well under the rock umbrella#his voice and writing style would perform so well in the genre after having three other albums under his belt#like hes won the grammys hes won the brits#hes done residencies#hes done practically everything he can in the pop sphere#lets see him return to his roots since he has nothing to 'prove' anymore as a solo artist#he can just experiment and howl and write freaky lil lyrics and have killer guitar solos#give me all the glamrock elements#please

#idk i used to be mhm with pop music#and even with the pop music i did like. i usually saw them performed with just the singers#and the instrumental as playback#or if i did see instrumentalists. they weren't part of the group#like all the bands i liked were rock or at least heavy on the usual instruments#even if they used synths sometimes#ok i mean hotband still has those usual instruments ofc (which at first was said to be unusual for a pop band)#but like. the members have performed with a synth or another similar electronic instrument (not counting bass/guitar)#like jonttu only using a drum pad on loppujen lopuks in the maasta kuuhun performances#and not just one member who solely uses these kinds of instruments#does this make sense??#i know there are pop/electronic bands with full on electronic instruments and pop sound#which i haven't listened to#if anyone has recs...#anyways#lucie.txt#kuumaa

#(and im saying this as a mob psycho 100 fan. btw)#i just binged the first 8 episodes and. wow#like admittedly i had seen a clip of her opening riff from that performance but the whole thing. holy shit#im at a loss for words#bocchi the rock!#btr#though i am a little.... unsure how to feel..... because. the scene calls deliberate attention to how she isnt looking at the crowd#and eye contact was a big thing she was 'working on' so i dont want it to be framed as 'wow she's so good if only she would look up'#but i havent watched past episode 8 so for now i live in a beautiful world where she was able to perform that way BECAUSE she didnt look up#and thats okay! shes allowed to not make eye contact even though its unconventional. its not a flaw - its what makes her unique#cause so much of this show is bocchi forcing herself to try to be more social or do things the 'right' way and im like nooooo.......#youre allowed to be a weird little introvert who cant make eye contact..... please stop trying so hard to be something else......#and like. The vibe tonight is: Watching 14 year old Grammys performance of Born This Way by Lady Gaga & crying into my proverbial cheerios
#lady gaga#gonna be weird about her for a while my lady gaga feeligns have been Reawakened#i cannot emphasize how much it was difficult for me to be a gay boy in the 90s and everywhere i turned there was someone making a demeaning#joke or a stupid stereotype was playing on tv or I was being told how my future lovers and mentors were dying of a plague that no one cared#about until straight white people started dying of it#i felt like being the way i was... was some kind of disease#Lady Gaga came onto the scene when I was well into adulthood and had met the man who would eventually become my husband#i loved how fucking unapologetically weird and self-expressive she was#i had always thought of pop as a highly orchestrated performance for straight white men#by straight white men#who employed vulnerable young women as puppets#her music videos were the first time i saw a weird-ass woman being that self-posessed and successful and unapologetic - like i know i just#said that but I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH how much it blew me out of the water at the time#and yes I WAS living under a rock thank you very much#She was pussy-out with her madness and vulnerability and ferocity and it fucking ENCHANTED me#the world took me to pieces when i tried to be like that and i had given up and was in hiding so her success rocked my world#when Born This Way video came out i ugly cried#truly like#sobbing#because i had never seen an incredibly successful#widely accepted performer like her#say that being born the way i was is OKAY#not a joke#not a punchline#not a threat#just... good. just the way I am. and I thought about my young self feeling so alone#and how much this message would have helped me#and i hoped very much that it would help other people too#i remember my childhood as a glass ceiling of representation#and Lady Gaga felt to me like a dandelion busting through concrete and shining in the fucking sunlight
