your favorite thing about them he is sUCH an entertainer!! ofc he's funny and high energy and very much an enfp (the synergy of him with other enfps is insane LMAO) but also he does put in effort to be prepared when he goes on variety shows (vaguely all i know is that he does research beforehand especially if he's meeting other idols, prepares some jokes or stunts or props, idk maybe thats standard but at least it's not lazy)! besides him being absolutely deranged for entertainment purposes, i do love watching him on variety shows he really does the whole entertaining idol gig thing with such ease with his very mc-host way of speaking, his comedic timing, and the way he puts people at easy by ironically catching them off-guard with his irreverent jokes, etc. etc. honestly it's an especially great skill bc he's interacted w a lot of dongsaeng/rookie groups while hosting ssap possible and idolympics.

when you Knew TM they were your bias LMAO the way u literally watched my realization in real time... okay but i don't actually remember what exactly cemented my coffin. i started noticing his rarer soft / calm / cute moods (instead of his obnoxious parodies of aegyo) and that he just happens to be good at everything. OH I REMEMBER NOW. SOMETHING SOMETHING HE IS GOOD AT COOKING ASDKFJLSJDFLKSDFL!!! lmao fuck why is it cooking that always gets me! also that was around the time i learned that he won 10 medals at isac 2018-20. and can do like 5 hurricane kicks in a row while singing. oh and he went from being literally tone deaf (or so he claims) when he auditioned to making it past several rounds on king of masked singer. okay but even tho he's good at everything he failed kindergarten <3 we stan having capabilities that can't be assessed by a standard education curriculum and being successful anyways 🤪

your favorite looks on them jokes on you i don't look at him. ok just kidding u got me. honestly i rly haven't watched that that much content to be super familiar with his full range of looks/fits but i'll give you my top 3 from my jjun tag: 1) the white hoodie outfit from one of the ssap possible episodes with curly brown hair just got me i think he was super sleep deprived that day bc he was very subdued and sleepy the whole time it was very cute 2) pink jjun from the rata tat tat mv was insane w the givenchy tank and silver necklaces and and arm band... 12 dead 47 injured. 3) glasses + leather jacket from dream radio!! okay i couldn't even see half his face bc of his mask in this radio special but it was a great outfit so i had to give it a shout out. he did lower it at once point to show off his side profile ! 🥰🥳💕 ... did i mention men's health magazine nov 2020? haha forget i said anything what.

your favorite verse/chreo they do the entire poppin' song he did with sungyoon!! some highlights w timestamps: - he has a pretty high pitched voice so i'm easily impressed by how he manages to pitch it down pretty low for the chorus. - also his verse after the first chorus is so addicting, there's something about the pitching and tone and varying emphasis of that verse that is so funny and satirical - my favorite part is the one singing line he gets lol a rare commodity as for choreo idk why the only thing i can think of rn is that time he danced w weki meki LMAO

your wish for them (solo stuff, being in a drama, a nap maybe lolo) to me he's honestly up there with seungkwan and baekhyun as born-entertainers so i hope he sticks around the entertainment industry for a long time 😃👍

What are some hobbies u think Oscar has or interest he has be sides reading

Hello again Dreamer,

Well besides reading books, this squiggly Pinehead also likes to indulge in the Pinehead headcanon that Oscar enjoys writing especially since it’s been shown that he canonically enjoys reading fairy tales.

I liked the idea of Oscar keeping a special old journal that either his aunt or some other close relative (like his former parents) gifted to him as a young boy that he’s cherished since childhood and has been using to chronicle stories of not just his own life but also the lives of the people he’s met that have influenced him in some way. Kind of like a diary but I’d imagine Oscar would be too coy or even a wee bit embarrassed to call it that.

I also liked the idea of Oscar sometimes keeping small sketches or random doodles in his journal in between his writing. While he may not consider himself an artist, I like the thought of Oscar actually being a decent sketcher while still being too shy to actually show anyone his drawings since they’re meant to be personal, very close to heart (as a reflection and depiction of his true inner thoughts) and thus private like his writing.

Another potential hobby that I pegged would be terrific for Oscar is cooking. Nothing too fancy-smancy. Just something he liked to do from time to time since it reminded him of home, not necessarily with his aunt but more so with his parents (or perhaps Oscar lived closely with only one of his parents or came from a household where he might’ve had siblings).

I’m still holding onto the theory that Oscar had actually only been living with his aunt on her farm for a short space of time and had actually been bounced around several relatives (and maybe the occasional foster home) for a full 3-4 years after his parents’ death (according to my headcanons, that is).

I’d still like to stand by the prospect that Oscar probably lost his parents a lot more recently than the RWBY series likes to give off. My hunch is that Oscar lost his folks when he was at least 10 going on 11 or so. And like many things about him, my theory is that Oscar was probably never truly given the chance to process the live-changing events in his life---either because they happened so quickly and/or as a growing child, he was often encouraged to just “not think about it; just move on” and that’s how he learned to cope with things such as trauma and pain.

Since I’d like to stand by the belief that the whole Ozpin scenario wasn’t Oscar’s first running with being placed into an uncomfortable scenario that was beyond his control; where he really had no say in the choices that came from it despite it deeply affecting him or something to that extent.

I’d like to think that Oscar’s been treated this way his entire teenage life since he lost his first family and thus his current demeanour, as we see in the show, is what’s become of him as a result of that. But that’s a headcanon for another day.

Getting back on track, bottom-line, Oscar struck me as the type of well-behaved kid who would be more than willing to help around in the kitchen. So I always figured or at least liked the concept of him being raised in a rather…I guess old-fashioned household for lack of a better term where all the family members contributed to the operations of the house and took turns doing their respective chores with cooking being one of them.

After the whole casserole incident of RWBY V6CH9, I know Pineheads alike clapped at the prospect of Oscar being able to cook (even better than Ruby since he made it all by himself while Ruby needed guidance from Ren). And while I still hate that episode with a bloody passion as a Pinehead for how Oscar was overall treated during it, I still liked that it at least gave us that little detail about him and I’d love to think that Oscar knows his way around the kitchen due to his upbringing.

So if he had to have another little hobby besides keeping a journal (or many journals), cooking would be the next one. Although, admittedly I like the journaling idea better since I think it more suits Oscar’s character in my opinion.

But anyways, that’s my headcanon for the little prince of RWBY. Hope that answers your question m’fam.

HI SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO ANSWER IM AT A FAMILY THING AND I MADE THIS LIST TOO DETAILED. i already have a pre-made list of my top ten but since u haven't seen them I'll explain them a bit for u <3

10. Revelations

Scully centric episode!!! Most of these episodes on my list are scullygirl episodes and im not ashamed <3 anyway this is one of those fucked up religious episodes and as a religiously raised kid it makes me personally extra insane. Complete with fucky Jesus symbolism and prophecies and all sorts of shit that Scully's own religious conflicts make soooo fun and interesting.

9. Oubliette

oughdhdddbfj poor meow meow mulder feels in this episode <\3 anyway it's such an interesting concept and extra scary because it's one of those episodes about a Real Human Person committing crimes that makes it feel so much more real and scary

8. Arcadia

Trouble in suburbia episode!!! Fake marriage for a case trope with mulder and scully! Everything you could ever ask for!!! This episode is just straight up Fun all the way through <3

7. Irresistible

sorry to be a scullygirl but this episode makes me fucking insane. This is right after scully goes through a traumatic experience and then she's forced to go through another one in this episode and yes I love her yes she's my meow meow but i do like to see her suffer and study it <3 also the serial killer is So terrifying and menacing it's incredibly well done

6. Ice

Absolutely iconic. Cultural reset. Carbon copy of The Thing but better (i probably deserve to be attacked for saying that but im right). Nothing more to say about this episode besides absolutely iconic, filled with tension, and hshduhhh iconic msr moments too <3

5. Tithonus

oh boy big surprise another scully episode 🙄 It's all about death and Scully's coming to terms with the concept of death (added angst due to one of her arcs earlier in the series). Also an absolutely badass concept of an immortal photographer that takes pictures of death all in an attempt to finally die himself. AMAZING ending this one gave me chills.

4. How the ghosts stole Christmas

aka the episode I've been spamming about for days. Christmas episode of all time <3 anyway it's pretty much mulder and scully getting psychoanalyzed by some christmas ghosts for 40 minutes and it's somehow absolutely amazing. It ends with both of them bloody on the floor of a haunted mansion while "have yourself a merry little Christmas" plays and never have i seen such a vibe of a scene.

3. Redrum

This episode is not even about mulder and scully (mulder isn't in it at all and scully is in like 3 or 4 scenes). It's about this one-off character (WHO ALSO HAPPENS TO BE JOE MORTON OF TERMINATOR 2 FAME) who time is literally going backwards for and he has to figure out who killed his wife and why he's been convicted of murdering her. It's literally SUCH a fun tense well done episode.

2. Triangle

the inner film nerd in me goes absolutely insane every time i even think about this episode. There are about a total of like... 4 cuts in the whole episode (except for the very last scene in the hospital) and other than that it's all one take. And one takes are my beloved my love my bestie i love one takes sooo much. I've rewatched this episode several times just to watch in awe at the camera work and cinematography. Fuck Chris Carter but like he can certainly direct a hell of an episode.

1. All Things

THEE SCULLYGIRL EPISODE OF ALL TIME. Directed and written by none other than gillian anderson (Scully's actress) and damn does she understand scully. ALSO THE EPISODE THAT FEATURES THE LESBIAN COUPLE. Makes me and @xfilesnatural insane with the philosophical implications of the whole episode. to quote a dm from samael about the philosophy of xfilesnatural (hope this is ok to put here bestie): "the conficting philosophies in spn are more like hard theological determinism vs free will (events being preordained by a creator or created solely by human will) , and the conflict on txf is more metaphysical libertarianism vs psychological determinism (fate or coincidence)" I HAD TO INSERT THIS BECAUSE EVER SINCE I READ IT I HAVE NOT STOPPED THINKING ABOUT IT. ANYWAY EPISODE OF ALL TIME.

A Little into You (Junkyu x Reader) (Ch. 18)

Chapter 18 - Is this a bad start?

Word count: 5.4k words

Genre: Fanfiction, PG13, Comedy, Romance.

A/N: Hello! How is everyone doing? It’s July already wow how time flies ><. Also, here’s Chapter 18! I miss you all and I hope you all enjoy this one 🧡

The next day came, and it was officially your first day as a proper tutor for the YG staff that were assigned to you. You were excited for your very own session with your small group so today you arrived at work a little early.

Opening the door of your assigned meeting room, you skipped happily towards the end of the table that was directly in front of the whiteboard. Placing your bag onto the table, you took out your small bottle of perfume and started spraying the perfume at the corners of the room to get rid of the dry and unoccupied dust smell.

“I wonder if this room was ever used, like, ever,” you said to yourself since you’re pretty sure no one has used this room before.

You exited the room and stood near your new favourite spot since yesterday, the railings in front of your meeting room. You leaned against it, scanning the interior of the building and waiting for the staff that were supposed to be in your group.

Treasure Dorm #1

“It’s almost 9am, where’s Junkyu??” Hyunsuk asked, a little concerned that he hasn’t seen Junkyu leave his room yet since they were supposed to leave early for a schedule at 10am today.

Haruto shrugged as he munched on the piece of banana in his hand, his hair uncombed and a little wet from his shower earlier.

Yoshi entered the kitchen and grabbed himself a glass of water. He was dressed in his white graphic shirt with khaki loose pants paired with his black beret.

“Hey, Yoshi, did Junkyu leave his room yet?” Hyunsuk asked.

“Oh? I’m not sure, I didn’t check,” Yoshi answered, pulling out a piece of banana for himself as well.

“Aigoo that kid. I’ll go check on him,” Hyunsuk sighed as he left the kitchen.

Hyunsuk walked up towards Junkyu’s door and knocked on it several times. “Junkyuuuu. Junkyu-aa, wake up! We have a schedule at 10 today! You better get up and get dressed,”

Hyunsuk waited for while, waiting for a response from Junkyu.

“Junkyu?”

He knocked again onto the door, this time a little louder.

Hyunsuk sighed. Might as well just enter this guy’s room, he thought.

Hyunsuk twisted the doorknob and entered the room,

“Kim Junkyu—”

Hyunsuk stopped himself when he saw that Junkyu’s bed was empty. His pyjamas were laid on his gaming chair, which meant that Junkyu had already gotten up and got dressed too.

Hyunsuk looked around the room, making sure that this boy wasn’t really there. When he was 100% sure he wasn’t just imagining Junkyu’s absence, he headed back towards the kitchen to where Yoshi and Haruto were.

“Hey guys, Junkyu isn’t in his room.”

“Huh?? Where would he go this early??” Haruto asked.

“Beats me,” Hyunsuk shrugged. “I’ll give him a call to see where he is,”

YGE Building (3rd Floor – Practice Room)

Junkyu paced to and fro in his group’s usual practice room. The air conditioner was on but Junkyu still felt restless.

He stopped walking around the room and decided to lay down on the floor. The cold floor touches his arms and Junkyu sighed out loud.

Now, why was he here so early? Sure, they were going to have a short recording for their Treasure Map episode at 10 later, but him being here 2 hours early was something rare.

Junkyu stared at the ceiling above him. Thoughts running around, making him more restless.

Junkyu groaned out frustratedly. He couldn’t sleep last night, he couldn’t bring himself to eat anything this morning, well, let’s just say he couldn’t seem to do anything because he kept thinking about his conversation with Jihoon the other day.

“Agh, this is killing me!” He yells as he sat back up onto the floor.

“Do I like y/n? Or do I not like her? Is she annoying? No….but she makes me feel weird about myself so—that means I don’t like her, right?? But then again, if I do like her…what would happen?”

That’s right, Junkyu had started arguing with his own thoughts, trying to convince himself that he doesn’t like you that way. Maybe he likes looking at you, that’s all.

Junkyu stared at his reflection in the mirror opposite him. His eyebags were showing today, and his hair looks dishevelled too.

He shook his head and started combing his hair with his fingers, trying to make it look neat like always.

“I probably just need some air,” he mumbled to himself as he stood up.

Tugging his BonBon hoodie on, he took a deep breath as he opened the door of the practice room.

His eyes were greeted by the railings in front of him. He instantly remembered how he was simply resting there yesterday and he suddenly noticed you leaning against the rails on the floor above. He remembered how surprised he was to see you since he didn’t expect you to be anywhere near their practice rooms.

Well, technically, you weren’t close, but this was as close as it could get to him.

Junkyu remembered how he decided to just stare at you yesterday, how his heart beat quickened every time you made small movements like fixing your hair or how you closed your eyes for a minute or two before getting surprised by Chani who appeared out of nowhere in his opinion.

His foot stepped forward towards the same spot he stood yesterday, eyes slowly glancing up…to see—no one on the floor above.

Junkyu felt himself breathe out a breath of relief. He chuckled to himself, thinking how crazy he felt for being so bothered by you, someone he barely knows.

Suddenly, Junkyu’s phone rang from his pocket and he pulled it out to see who was calling.

“Hyunsuk-hyung?”

“Hello?” Junkyu said as he answered the call.

“Ahh, sorry hyung, I got up early today so I thought I might as well just leave for work early today,” he said into the phone.

“Yes, I’ll see you all later. Bye,”

Junkyu shook his head as he kept his phone into his pants pocket again after the call ended. He should’ve at least informed his dormmates that he left early, he thought. He must’ve made them worried about him just now.

Junkyu leaned back towards the railings again, wanting to rest for a bit and maybe get some air before he enters the practice room again.

His eyes roamed around the floor opposite him and slowly, he raises his head to look at the floor above.

And right at that moment, he felt his breath hitched.

He felt his body stiffened up and he couldn’t even turn away no matter how many times he kept telling himself to do so in his head.

Instead, he kept staring.

He kept staring at your figure, that was staring back at him from above.

He could see your eyes, slightly widened, probably as shocked as he was to see you there.

The both of you knew that you both were making eye contact, so there was no way to pretend this isn’t happening, he thought.

He tried blinking his eyes a couple times.

Slowly, he raised his hand and waved awkwardly at you.

He notices your gaze towards him relaxing and then slowly, he sees your soft smile forming on your lips. You waved back at him as you smiled.

Junkyu felt his face heat up, and he stopped waving at you.

That’s right. He couldn’t do this. This was too much for him to handle.

Clumsily, he backed away from his spot and he ran back inside the practice room.

As he closed the door behind him, he placed his hand on his chest. His heart was pounding so fast he could literally hear the sound beating in his ears.

He walked back towards the middle part of the room, plopping himself onto the floor to rest.

His eyes caught his own reflection in the mirror in front of him, and he noticed, his face red and his hands slightly shaking from what happened earlier.

Junkyu couldn’t get the image of you smiling back at him with that pretty smile of yours out of his mind.

He’s always thought you looked pretty when you smile. He rarely sees you smile like that when he’s around, but he had always noticed this pretty smile of yours when you were around Hyunsuk or the other younger members.

But today, for the first time, Junkyu felt like he had seen you smile the prettiest smile ever. And it was for him.

Junkyu looked at his reflection again.

“No way…Kim Junkyu…you do like y/n,” he said to himself.

You were kneeling down to peel off the sticky paper that you noticed was sticking out from underneath your heels when you heard a phone ringing. You checked your skirt pocket and surely enough, it wasn’t your phone that was ringing. Then whose phone was it?

You stood back up and your eyes unconsciously looked over towards the other side of the building since you sensed that someone was there.

The ringing had stop and you saw on the other side, a floor lower than you, was a guy talking on the phone.

You continued staring at him because something about him seems familiar. Especially that hoodie design… You tilt your head, trying to figure out who that person is.

And just as you were leaning forward towards the railings to continue staring at the guy, he stopped talking on the phone and was looking in your direction.

That’s when both of your eyes met.

You weren’t expecting it to be him at all, hence, you were clueless on how to react. Instead, you just continued staring at him in shock.

Well, to be fair, he looked just as surprised as you were too.

You saw him slowly raising his hand and waving at you, and that’s when you felt more relaxed.

Okay, be cool, y/n. Why are you acting all nervous? It’s just Junkyu. Just raise your hand and wave back at him.

You waved back at him and smiled at him. That’s right, girl! Just smile and wave, just smile and wave.

But then, you saw Junkyu’s expression stiffened and then out of sudden he dashed off into the door behind him, almost tripping at it too.

Your hand still in the air, you frowned. You felt confused as to what just happened.

YGE Building / Lunchtime (Cafeteria Balcony)

You were resting your head on the table, eyes closed and enjoying the quiet surroundings when suddenly a voice startled you.

“Y/N! WAKE UP!”

You furrowed your eyebrows and lift your head up to see Chani with a tray full of food in his hands.

“What is it? Why are you being so loud??” You asked him, shooting him a glare.

Chani placed his tray onto the table and pulled out the chair opposite of you. He lets out a heavy sigh and pulled his drink closer to him so he could sip on it.

Still shooting him a glare, you waited for him to explain why he woke you up from your short relaxing nap.

Chani wiped his chopsticks with the serviette he had gotten from the cafeteria earlier and started mixing his rice with his side dishes. His eyes glanced up to look at you.

“Now, the real question here is that—why aren’t you eating anything,” he said matter-of-factly, making you roll your eyes at him.

“I’m not hungry. Now shut up and let me go back to napping,” you huffed as you rest your head onto the table again.

Chani clicked his tongue and decided to pull your hair so that you wouldn’t go back to napping.

“Ow! Hey, what gives??” you said, half-yelling. Your hand rubbed your head at where he had tugged your hair earlier.

“No way. I’m not letting you nap. You still have 4 hours left of work and you need the energy from food, not from sleeping! You can sleep at night later on,” he nagged at you.

You grumbled back at him. “Fine, fine. I’ll go get myself some food.”

Chani eyed you and you shifted in your seat slightly.

“Okay fine, you got me. I’m not getting up to get any food. To be honest, I’m not in the mood to eat anything right now, Chani,”

Chani stared at you for a while before letting out a sigh. “Okay then. Don’t get up then,”

“Thanks,”

Chani spooned some rice from his bowl and lifted it up to your face.

“What?”

“Eat some from mine then.”

You sighed. “Chani I told you—”

“I know, and I’m not telling you to go get yourself a full course meal from inside. Now eat up before I start another series of nagging here,”

“Okay, okay! Sheesh, you’re pushy,” you muttered as you leaned forward and ate up the food from his spoon.

“Good girl.” He smiled at you before he starts eating his own food again.

You looked away from him and chewed on the rice in your mouth slowly.

Chani continued eating a few spoonsful before he asked you, “Hey, is everything alright?”

You swallowed your food and pointed at his drink, in which he nodded at you, implying that he’s letting you drink it.

You grabbed the glass and took a big gulp from the drink.

“Whoa there, slow down, that’s still mine,” he reminded you.

“Sorry,” you said as you placed his glass down onto the table again.

“Uhuh, sure. Now, what happened? Why do you look so glum?”

“I don’t know Chani…today…didn’t really go as I expected it to be…”

“What? But you were so excited about today! I had to listen to you talk about your whole module plans for a whole 15 MINUTES yesterday!”

“It’s just 15 minutes, Chani. Don’t make it sound that bad,” you scowled at him.

“15 minutes of you talking about something I have no interest in? It felt like I was in prison, y/n,”

You narrowed your eyes at him. “Whatever, Chani.”

“Ugh, look at you and your grumpy attitude. It’s like our first lunch together all over again,” he chuckled.

You pushed your hair to the back of your ears and sighed out heavily again.

“Hmm,” Chani said as he chewed on his food. “Let me take a guess. Your group members are all uncooperative,”

You shook your head.

“They all slept throughout your session?”

“Nope.”

“Oh my god.” Chani dropped his spoon into his bowl as his eyes widened. “DID THEY HARRASS YOU??”

“Shh! No! Now chill! You don’t have to shout!” You said, trying to calm him down.

“I mean, you were all glum! What else could it be??”

“Chani—nothing happened today, okay??”

He scoffed at you. “Puh-lease. Nothing??”

“Yes, NOTHING.”

“I don’t believe you.”

“Yes, Chani. Nothing happened! You know why? Nothing could happen, since there was no one in my group!” you said, your eyes tearing up at this point.

Chani saw your frustrated expression and stopped for a minute.

You blinked back your tears, not wanting to cry in front of your friend. You reached out to grab Chani’s drink and sipped on it slowly, your eyes avoiding his.

Chani stared at you, his face filled with confusion. “Just how…Wait, what do you mean you have no one in your group??”

“Teu-bye!!” All the 12 boys said as they waved at the camera.

“And, cut! Good job, everyone! You’re all dismissed!” the director said to everyone in the room.

The boys thanked everyone in the room before they took off their mics and proceeding to pick up their bags from the back of the room.

“Hahah! You have some flour on your hair!” Jihoon said as he dusted off the flour stain off his best friend’s head.

“Speak for yourself, you have some colouring on your shirt,” Junkyu pointed out back at him.

Jihoon looked down and noticed the red spots on his shirt. “Aw man. That’s not gonna come off easily.”

Junkyu chuckled at his best friend. “Where are you headed later? You don’t have any schedules, right?”

“Nah, we can all head home now. I checked everyone’s schedule today. The only thing we had today was TMap recording.”

“Okay. Wanna go grab some early dinner?”

Jihoon slip on his bag on his shoulder and nods at Junkyu. “Sure. I’ll ask the rest if they want to join as well,”

Junkyu nods at this. “Sure. I’ll wait outside.”

Junkyu watched as his best friend jogged towards him.

“The rest said they’ll just order from home. I guess it’s just the two of us.”

“Alright then.”

Jihoon wrapped his arm around Junkyu’s shoulder. “So, anything you have in mind?”

Junkyu shrugged. “I don’t know…maybe some garlic tteokbokki?”

“Aigoo, that again, huh? Sure sure,” Jihoon said as he grinned.

Junkyu smiled back at him and the both of them headed towards their usual tteokbokki spot not far from their apartment complex area.

After their super early dinner, Junkyu and Jihoon decided to just walk back to their apartment complex since it wasn’t too far from their dinner spot earlier.

As they leisurely walked home, the both of them talked about the incidents that happened during their recording today, mostly all the funny moments.

“Did you notice how Doyoung accidentally whisked Asahi’s team’s batter instead just now? Because of that, his team had to rush and work on their batter extra time!” Jihoon said as he laughed out loud.

Junkyu too, laughed at this. “No wonder his cake didn’t bake in time!”

“Oh, oh, Hyunsuk’s cake! He wanted to mix blue and red colouring to make purple frosting but he accidentally poured green instead of blue!!” Junkyu added, still laughing.

“Huwaaaaaa my cake!!! It’s all smurfed up now!!” Jihoon imitated Hyunsuk’s wails from their recording earlier.

“Hahahahaha! You sound exactly like him!” Junkyu laughed harder.

The both of them enjoyed talking and laughing until they reached the front gate of their apartment complex.

Jihoon suddenly stopped walking.

“Jihoon? What’s wrong?” Junkyu asked.

“Aish! I forgot to buy some bread for the kids in my dorm! I totally forgot we finished up ours this morning,” Jihoon answered.

“Ahh. Do you want to run back to that convenience store down the block? We can go back there,”

Jihoon shook his head. “Nah, it’s fine. I can go on my own. I’m pretty sure you’re tired too, right?”

Junkyu shrugged at this. Honestly he doesn’t mind it if Jihoon had wanted him to tag along.

“It’s fineee! Now, hurry back. Get some rest,” Jihoon said, his eye-smile showing.

Jihoon immediately walks off outside the gate of their apartment complex and as he went, he managed to turn around and tell his best friend to proceed going home another time.

Junkyu watched as his best friend’s figure got further and further from his view.

Shrugging to himself, he continued walking towards the front part of his apartment block.

You smiled as you waved goodbye towards the cats that you had just fed.

One of the cats purred loudly and started rubbing its head at your leg and you giggled to yourself, thinking that this act of clinginess was just too cute to resist.

“Okay fine! 5 more minutes, and then I’ll head up, okay?” you said as you kneeled back onto the ground, watching over the cats that ate up the wet food you had bought on your way back from work earlier.

You petted the clingy cat and smiled at them all, feeling at peace after what had happened today.

Truthfully, you had felt a bit down since no one had entered your meeting room at all today.

Did they get lost? Were they not informed of you being their tutor??

These thoughts kept running in your mind the whole day.

At first you thought that maybe these staff had another meeting to attend and that maybe they would show up for your session after lunchtime, but alas, you literally spent the whole day staring at your own reflection in your meeting room and with no one else at all with you.

You sighed as you stood back up from your position earlier. The cats in front of you stopped eating and glanced over at you.

“I hope you enjoyed the food,” you smiled. “I’ll come back tomorrow, okay?”

You turned around to head back towards the front entrance of your apartment block, which was only a few steps away from where you were since you were just feeding the cats at the side of the entrance.

As you got close to the front entrance, your eyes landed onto a familiar figure walking up towards the entrance as well.

The both of you stopped in your tracks, both making eye contact with each other now.

“Y/n?”

“Junkyu,”

The both of you stood in front of the elevator doors, waiting for the elevator to come down from the top floor of the building.

The both of you decided to just wait for the elevators together since you both had bumped into each other. It’s not like any of you could run off, right? Because that would have been super awkward.

But then again, as you stood there beside him, his tall height looming beside you, you felt small and awkward. Maybe it’s because it’s never been just the two of you alone, you thought.

As the both of you stood there in silence, you subtly looked at the guy beside you, noticing that up close, this close, Junkyu looked like one of those perfect dream boyfriends that people would go crazy for. Okay, let’s just admit it, Junkyu is indeed a good-looking person. You wouldn’t deny it, when you first met Junkyu, you thought he was indeed handsome. But then, you also knew that the both of you never really talked much to each other. You had always been close with the other members, but Junkyu? It’s almost like as if there was a wall built in between the both of you.

Why is it like that?

“It’s on it’s way down now,” his voice said, startling you.

You immediately looked straight at the elevator doors, hoping that he didn’t notice you had been staring at him for the past 5 minutes.

“Uh, okay. Thanks,” you muttered under your breath.

Again, your mind went back to thinking. Why was it that among the rest of the members, Junkyu was the only person you had trouble being friends with? Are you both that different from each other?

But then, you suddenly remembered how cold Junkyu had treated you at times. Sometimes you notice him giving you looks that showed how much he despised you, but then again…sometimes, he acted normally around you. Like today. He waved at you today, didn’t he? That’s not a sign of him hating you, no?

DING! The elevator door opened up in front of the both of you.

The both of you entered it at the same time.

Junkyu stood at the side, near the buttons panel.

“6th floor, right?” Junkyu asked.

“Y-yeah. 6th.”

Junkyu reached out his finger to press the 6th and 16th floor buttons.

“Oh? Green,” you said in all of a sudden, making Junkyu turn around to look at you.

“Wha…t?”

“Oh, sorry. I mean, uh, your hand. It’s green,” you stammered. You lift your finger to point at the green coloured stain on his hand.

“Oh, that,” he said. “We had a bake-off for our TMap recording today,” he chuckled.

“T…Map…?” you asked him, not understanding the abbreviation.

“Treasure Map,”

“Oh! Yeah, that. Your show,” you said to him.

Junkyu nodded at you and then the both of you kept quiet again.

“Have you ever seen TMap?” Junkyu asked, in all of a sudden.

“Uhh, well, to be honest…no.”

This made Junkyu turn his head to look at you, a shocked look on his face. “Not even one episode??”

You shook your head. “No…I mean, don’t get me wrong! I know who you guys are, I’ve listened to your songs and I love your songs but well, I never got the chance to watch any of the episodes because well, I don’t watch videos much…”

This made Junkyu blinked several times, his face showing that he was thinking hard, trying to understand what you said.

DING! The elevator stopped at the 6th floor.

The door opens and you slowly made your way out. Junkyu, oblivious that this was your floor and not his, followed you, walking by your side.

“Wait, if you don’t watch videos, what do you do when you have free time??”

“Well, I read books, listen to songs, clean the house, take walks…” your voice drifting when you realised how Junkyu might be seeing you as a pretty boring person by now.

“But you have a TV! Don’t you watch anything on that thing??” he asked, still baffled with your sense of entertainment.

You stopped in your tracks. “Well, the TV… I well, I… I don’t really know how to work it…”

Junkyu shot you a weird look. “What?”

“It’s difficult to figure out the stations! There’s the mode, the channel, the freaking satellite button, like, which ones should I press anyways??” You complained, slightly in a nagging voice.

Unconsciously, Junkyu grinned at your complaint. “Look, you could’ve asked us you know. We’ve been over to your house couple times now,”

“And look like an idiot? Uhh, no way,” you scoffed.

Junkyu smiled a little at your response.

You looked around you and realised that you had been stopping for a while now and that you were only couple doors away from your apartment unit.

“Oh gosh, this is my floor,” you said, slightly embarrassed as to how you had made Junkyu followed you until here.

“Oh, right. I forgot we don’t live on the same floor,”

You nodded at this. “Well,” you huffed. “This was nice…Junkyu. Thank you for walking me up to…my floor?” you chuckled, not knowing how to describe the situation you both were in.

Junkyu pursed his lips and smiled at you with his cute smile. “Sure. I’ll see you around then. Bye,”

You walked in front of him and turned to wave at him.

Junkyu raised his hand and waves back.

“Oh, right! I still have your shirt with me,” you called out to him now that the both of you are further away from each other.

“Nah, you can give it to me some other time. I better be heading home now.”

“Okay. Bye Junkyu!” you said with a smile.

“Bye!” Junkyu waved at you as he entered the elevator doors again.

As the elevator doors closed, Junkyu breathed a sigh of relief. He felt…less nervous?

When he bumped into you earlier, he was panicking on the inside because he wasn’t sure if he could navigate any conversations with you. But then, after just now, he felt that talking to you wasn’t that bad at all. In fact, talking to you felt so natural its as if you were a friend he had known for a year or two.

Maybe talking to you isn’t that bad after all. Maybe if he had tried to talk to you more often before, he could’ve been close to you like the others do. And maybe…just maybe, if the two of you had gotten close before, you would’ve liked him too, he thought.

Treasure’s Apartment floor (16th floor)

Outside Dorm #1

Jihoon rang the doorbell of his best friend’s dorm.

He heard footsteps approaching and as expected, the door opened and Jihoon saw Junkyu behind it.

“Man, why’d you ring the doorbell? You know the combination lock to this dorm, right?”

Jihoon grinned at his best friend. “That’s because I’m not here to visit. I’m here to give you all these,” he pointed out to the bag of bread he was holding in his hand.

“Oh? But I thought you went to buy these for your dorm??”

“I bought extras, silly. Here, here, take two of these,” he said as he shoved two packs of bread into Junkyu’s hands.

Junkyu clumsily received the breads from his hyung, “Uhh, thanks,”

“No problem!” Jihoon smiled. “I’m heading back now,”

“Uh, wait! Jihoon-hyung,” Junkyu called out to him before he could leave.

“Hm? What is it?”

Junkyu looked over behind him and quietly stepped outside his front door. Closing the door behind him, he spoke to Jihoon in a soft tone, “I uh, I bumped into y/n just now after you left,”

“Oh?? Really now?” Jihoon’s teasing smile formed on his face.

“And well, we uh, talked. Like normal people do.”

“Of course,” Jihoon nodded, still smiling.

“I think…y/n doesn’t make me uncomfortable in a bad way anymore…”

“Aww look at you! You’re all grown up!” Jihoon teased him as he ruffles Junkyu’s hair.

Junkyu felt himself blush and so he defensively replied to his friend, “Hey, hey. I just said we talked like normal people that’s all! Nothing more to that!”

Jihoon tilt his head slightly, a soft smile on his face now. “And that means…you don’t hate y/n, right?”

“What, no! I don’t hate her,”

“Yup, and this means you like her?”

“Yeah, I guess it means that—HEY, WHAT??” Junkyu said, almost screaming since his best friend almost tricked him into admitting that he has feelings for you.

Jihoon laughed out loud seeing his best friend’s flustered behaviour now. “I’m just messing with you! Don’t get all worked up over this,” he said still laughing.

Junkyu pouts at this. “Just go home already, Park Jihoon,”

“Haha sure, sure,”

As Jihoon turned around to leave, once again, Junkyu called out to him.

“Jihoon-aa”

“Yes, Junkyu?” he turned around.

“Do you know how to shop for girl stuff online?”

Jihoon looked at him in disbelief. “Whoa Kim Junkyu…what happened to you,”

“Not for me, silly! It’s for y/n…Like you said, I ruined her shirt that day…so I was thinking of buying her something to make up for it.”

“Ahh, I see,”

“Could you maybe help guide me with the buying process later?”

Jihoon shook his head, amused with his best friend’s cute attitude. “Yeah, sure. Just let me know when you want to shop, okay?”

“Okay!” Junkyu said cheerfully.

Treasure Dorm #2 (Jihoon, Mashiho, Doyoung, Jeongwoo)

“I’m homeeeee” Jihoon chimed as he entered their front door.

“Welcome home!” Jeongwoo’s voice responded from the living room.

After taking off his shoes and arranging them on his shoe rack, Jihoon entered the living room to see Jeongwoo sitting on the sofa, staring at the screen of his laptop.

“What are you watching?” Jihoon asked.

“Just a video Yoshi-hyung shared to me just now,” he said, his eyes not leaving the screen.

“Okay.” Jihoon proceeded towards the kitchen and placed the bread he bought onto the kitchen counter.

He washed his hands at the kitchen sink, drying them with a paper towel right after.

Jeongwoo, who had finished watching the short video on his laptop, showed up in the kitchen.

“Oh? Hyung, why’d you buy us more bread? I thought we still have some left from the ones Mashiho-hyung bought yesterday,” he said as he checked out the paper bag that Jihoon had placed on the kitchen counter.

“Ah, I must have forgotten we still had some,” Jihoon chuckled. “Oh, by the way, did my package arrive today?”

“Yup, I kept it in your room. What’s inside it?” Jeongwoo asked, being his usual curious self.

“It’s nothing special,” Jihoon said as he grinned at his dongsaeng.

“The box looks pretty fancy, hyung. It has yellow flowers painted all over it, are you sure it’s not special?” Jeongwoo said as he looked at his hyung, sceptically.

“You know how much I like flower designs, right? I asked for the limited-edition box, that’s all. I wanted to pair up the box with some of Romy’s merch. Don’t you think it fits Romy?” he answered Jeongwoo with a soft grin on his face.

“I guess it does fit Romy…Are you gonna put in your Kaikai Kiki merch in there too?”

Jihoon shrugged. “Maybe, I’ll see if it fits,”

“Heh, sounds cool. Oh! Something funny happened at school today!”

“Aigoo Jeongwoo-yaa, you’re crowding me. I need to go shower up,” Jihoon nagged playfully at him.

“Aww come on, hyung! Hear me out for a bit, I promise this one is funny!” Jeongwoo whined as he chased after Jihoon that was already heading out of the kitchen.

so ive been reading the tv tropes for mash + like some other old articles (i love having character analysis done for me lol) but, i saw like, several instances, espesh in hawkeye specific character trope list, thay refers to him having had his first time veru young and with a potentially older girl? to the point it being like, explicitly nonconsensual due to their age difference. so i was curious if u knew anything about that or somerhing (i havent seen it mentioned on u, or the other little mash blogs i follow)

Hello!! I also like reading TVTropes! When I was watching mash the first time, I actually kept the TVTropes tab open to read bits of it once I'd watched the right parts of the show, lol. I will put this conversation under a cut so people can choose to avoid it. CW discussion of molestation and sexual assault. But the short answer I do know where it comes from and I don't think it means anything.

There is an episode where Hawkeye mentions his father catching him smoking in bed when he was 14, then grins and says "so was the girl I was with." This could be a joke, or it could be he's so smooth he really did have a girl with him back then (as with a lot of Hawkeye lines, it's ambiguous) but I don't think there's anything that implies the girl wasn't his own age.

There is also an episode where Hawkeye says something along the lines of "could you find my virginity? I lost it 20 years ago." Hawkeye is 28 in the book, and the fact that he was in fifth grade during the Depression seems to confirm a birthdate around 1920-22, so he'd be between 28 and 30 in 1950 and 31-33 in the finale (I stick with 1922 for my headcanon, but I do want to acknowledge there's some leeway). The timeline is murky, but the episode with that virginity line is in a middle season somewhere, so he really can't be more than 29-30 when he says it. So that's kind of concerning, since 20 years ago he would have been 9 or 10 years old. Like a lot of his lines, it doesn't have to be taken literally, and he could be rounding. I do not think it was intended to be taken literally or suggest Hawkeye lost his virginity at the age of 9. This is what I think:

I think they forgot how old Hawkeye is. Alan Alda was 35 when they started filming season 1. An actor in his mid-thirties delivering a line saying he lost his virginity 20 years ago puts him in his teens, which is very normal. I think they just forgot how much younger Hawkeye is supposed to be, especially because his age is never exactly pinned down.

So I tend to just wince at that line and ignore it.

It's also alluded to on TVTropes that there could have been something untoward going on with Hawkeye's cousin Billy. I also don't agree with this interpretation. I think it's making a lot out of two kids looking at dirty magazines. Hawkeye was supposed to be very young when this happened (although now that I think about it, I'm not sure that necessarily happened before the boat incident, so while he was still relatively young, he may not have literally been 7) but like it or not, it's not an unheard of experience. I also personally think Billy just wanted to look at the dirty magazines and Hawkeye was tagging along so he thought sure, whatever, let the kid look too. That's just my headcanon though.

Hawkeye also makes a joke about a stewardess forcing herself on him, but in that case nothing suggests he wasn't an adult when it happened. Also, I don't think that alludes to any real incident, the joke is basically that in the 50s the idea that women could sexually assault men was absurd, it's just Hawkeye is such hot stuff this woman simply lost all control around and him "did her a favor" by "not screaming" but of course he thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a gross joke on multiple levels, just not that one.

danny phantom season 2, eps 1-5 thoughts! opening the new season with episodes like these kinda blew me away. we had multiple serious episodes INCLUDING a two parter!! also, valerie :)

-I don't know what I expected s2 to open with. but danny portal incident in more detail was not it. (also, I hate to break it to you, sam, but danny's parent's bigass ghost hunting rv def chugs more gas than those vehicles, lmao. unless it runs on ectoplasm or something...)

-WHY WAS DESIREE IN THE SEWER? HAVING TEA WITH IT DOWN THERE?? Her making the giant cow come alive is a boss move, we've almost had all of my fav animals as ghosts now <3 I also don't like how sam was expecting danny to just, haunt the place so the cars wouldn't get sold? I KNOWWW I know she's 14 (and I had a very annoying phase like this, I think I mentioned in a previous post, I GET IT) but they're HIS powers, and messing with (1) dealership will not really put a dent in sales overall because they can just move the cars to another sales lot, and it certainly wont change the industry anyway, it's more of a minor annoyance for (1) location. Also, usually people who work at car sales places work on commission, so if they dont make a sale, they don't have money to pay bills, or eat. sam baby if u wanna be an activist you need to like, actually look into these things. with as much money as her parents have, she could be doing a lot..more useful things for causes she cares about? it's frustrating to see someone with resources who doesn't know how to use them. but shes 14 so again. cannot be really upset :/

-IS THIS A PREDATOR VS TERMINATOR VS FREDDY KRUEGER MOVIE BUT THEYRE ALL WOMEN?? you know, sam is so right to be excited about this. /I/ want to see this movie. that rules

-paulina inviting danny and friends to her quinceañera, aw! even if it is just to get phantom to show up :') and there'll be a meteor shower, and we KNOW danny wants to be an astronaut!! there's not a meteor shower every night!! the tickets are non-refundable, but..she's rich? like. gotta agree with danny, they never get invited!! I KNOW it's the principle of keeping promises, but if she was that upset, she should've said something. directly. I hated how she was like, passive aggressive about it through the episode, like you SAID IT WAS FINE, THAT YOU'D GO TO THE PARTY TOO. MOVIES SHOW FOR A FEW WEEKS IN THEATERS. IF YOU HAD A REAL PROBLEM YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT. WE'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, SAM. YOUR FRIENDS. ARE NOT. MIND READERS.

-this outfit is everything . anytime the show does an over the top cutesty pink outfit i WANT IT. it looks like shit I wear JKASDHF I HAVE a bow like that and a pink sweater. I need leg warmers </3

-SAMS GOTTA RE-HALF-KILL HIM??? thats fucked up. but also, he finally got his logo!! it took until s2!!! this episode was lowkey very fucked and I felt like it glossed over a lot. does sam have guilt about like. kinda KILLING HIM?? I know, he also agreed and walked into the portal. but. she made the choice to redo it SO quickly (even if it was because someone had to beat desiree) and danny, during their fight, brought up a lot of stuff sam's done in the past, meaning he was holding onto those memories and resentment was building. (I KEEP SAYING HE LOWKEY NEEDS THERAPY, BUT I THINK MOST EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW KINDA DOES) which...is a red flag? and then they didnt even GO to the party URGH I know she tried to make up for it, but it really felt like Sam fucked up and barely faced any consequences and got everything she wanted in the end. I KNOW it's a kids show obv they aren't going to go too in depth, and she undid the damage, kinda, but...I DUNNO how to articulate it but it rubbed me the wrong way.

-but on a note about desiree, her powers of wishes were STRONG ENOUGH TO ERASE NOT JUST THEIR MEMORIES, BUT DANNY'S POWERS?! fuck, if I was danny I'd be like, trying to make friends with her. I know they always have horrible side effects as most genie-granted wishes do, but...c'mon, I'd at least TRY to be like 'I wish no ghosts would hurt anyone in my town' or 'I wish vlad would lose his ghost powers forever no matter What and also forget about my mom' LIKE. SHIT DESIREE IS SO POWERFUL. rewriting reality powerful, basically!! appreciate her. respect her.

-aww, sam helping tucker pass the nurse's office so he wouldn't see because he's afraid of medical stuff? very sweet. I also don't like medical stuff, I've gotten a lot better at handling it tho. but seeing blood and needles still makes me feel lightheaded x_x

-FOLEY, BY TUCKER FOLEY. I want to make my own perfume, that's so cool. even if his first attempt isn't good, he's pretty consistently shown to have an inventor/entrepreneur streak in the show, so like. I can see him inventing or making something (or several somethings) that make him $$$ when he grows up :) proud of my creative son

-I know the 'creepy abandoned hospital on the edge of town' is a joke and the creepy hospital trope is so Worn Out, but in my town we actually DO have a hospital like that! my dad was born in it, but its not in use and hasn't been for, like, 20 years! it needs to be torn down but I think the city doesn't wanna pay the money. the inside is horrible, spray painted and broken glass and shit everywhere. but there's still like, rusty equipment and fucking DOLLS all over the place. the cops drive by it pretty frequently to make sure no one is like, breaking in. (because of water damage, some of the areas really aren't safe. also, asbestos, but people still go in anyway) but also, some of my town was used in a filming for a stephen king show. So it's lowkey spooky all over. just a fun personal tidbit :) to lead into saying, any hospital abandoned for any period of time is NOT safe to quarantine these kids in JKSAHDKF like I KNOW it's a ghost trying to do this, but NONE of these parents are even like, 'well, why dont we keep them in the regular, working hospital'....YIKES. this hospital looks pretty accurate to the one in town. grungy and spooky.

-fentons are tax evaders confirmed by jack's fear of being audited, lol no one is surprised

-ghost sickness via ghost bugs. horrifying concept. I actually expected it to be a new villain, not dr. spectra again! this is a very elaborate scheme. her new form rules, love the new costume. the way none of the bg kids seem to recognize her as their old school councilor. did we just forget about that completely?

-dash watching romance movies in the fucked up ghost hospital. same.

-'oh please, you're ghosts, do you have any idea what YOU smell like?' no, tucker, what DO ghosts smell like? I genuinely didn't know they would even have a smell, I actually want to know now.

-it feels like a while since we've seen jazz!! i was happy to see her again, even if she was a head in a jar for most the episode. I want another jazz-focused ep!!

-we finally see danny doing space-related stuff!! him and his friends stargazing to open ep 3 of s2. cute :) until, GHOST PIRATES!!!!! ...ghost pirate captain is a small child?? VOICED BY TAYLOR LAUTNER???

-oh, the easy listening is ember's song instrumental slowed. 'vapor drone' THEY VAPORWAVED HER!!! ember in a pirate outfit tho >>>>. and the cruise being called m.bersback JKASDHJK. ember adopting a little pirate brother is also pretty cute. concerning this teen and little kid have such bad opinions of adults, like, who hurt you?? (how did you DIE ALSO?? im always lowkey curious about that. we know desiree died at an old age, but her ghost form is young, probably mid-20s, so I wonder how that sort of thing works...its a more mental thing, isn't it?) but ghost team-ups are always cool to see, even if ember bailed after danny took her guitar. I guess she probably thinks youngblood can handle it (which, he's been owning danny this far in the ep, so...fair)

-tucker got that sponsorship from nasty burger for their radio!!! again, opportunistic money maker king, love to see it!!!

-danny taking control of the kids SO FAST. he makes a pretty great leader. no one is surprised, im pretty sure I said I think he's the most mature of the trio, once again, correct, because he's taken on so much responsibility already. all the teens suiting up in the jumpsuits to go save the adults and taking the ship over with a BLIMP. OKAY LETS GO. this feels like it should be a mid finale or straight up finale.

-...speaking of finales. why is ep 4-5 of s2 combined into a 50 minute episode? I havent even clicked play and im concerned. weird placement, like, this season JUST started and we're getting a two parter? okay...why are the episodes placed like this? why not put this at episode 10 or something, for a mid-season thing?

-this is also a cute dress. possibly my fav dress so far. can her parents give ME cute dresses, I'LL wear them.

-it turns out the castle fright knight was in is called pariah's keep and there's something worse than fright knight in there! lovely! fuck off vlad wtf are you doing <3 your hubris <3 is going to literally get you killed <3 'ring of rage' and 'crown of fire' are great names tho. ...vlad turning into a super polite guy when he was scared of mr. pariah was hilarious. and fright knight doing the same...I mean, it makes sense, he's a knight, he serves a king? happy to see fright knight again either way :) vlad telling him to call him tho, lmfao. you WISH HE WOULD. (I wish hed call me, too. 😔)

-so...jack being genuinely concerned about vlad...maddie really didn't tell him what happened at the cabin, did she. damn. if I was her id immediately come home and be like 'YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS SHITTTT THIS CREEPY GUY--' like, I feel like that stuff you need to tell your partner!!! I know she didnt want Jack to think she was an irresponsible parent putting danny in danger at that time, but STILLLL. maddie spilling boiling tea on him. get his ass. how is jack this oblivious to his wife's discomfort with vlad!! ughhh

-fenton wipe (tm). trademarked toilet paper.

-DANNY AND VALERIE BEING FRIENDS??? :D that was a cute moment. 'hey val <3' and 'if you like him like him, make a move, or someone else will ;)' at sam...damn!! I love her. valerie go for it girl!!! I hate how sam and tucker treat val also, like I GET IT YOURE PROTECTIVE AND DONT TRUST but if anything him befriending valerie will help when she finds out or he tells her like I feel like she'll be more understanding that they think! ALSO I feel like her reason for not liking ghosts is valid, like you haven't really explained the full story to her anyway! she doesn't seem to have any other friends after being booted from the a-listers so im like :( but seeing them kick butt together again was nice <3

-the ghosts all RUNNING FROM PARIAH DARK IS NOT GOOD, I thought he sent them to attack or something, but no. why doesn't someone just tell desiree 'hey i wish pariah dark would die' lol. once again I think she can solve every problem <3 but seeing all the enemies in one place, being civil and hiding together? love it.

-you just know danny's gonna have to clean up vlad's stupid mess. also, jack being willing to put on the ectoskeleton pants to help maddie, as soon as vlad heard it could kill him, he suggested jack do it instead of helping maddie himself? this is why jack got the girl, my man.

-ghost skeletons. how do you end up as a skeleton ghost in your afterlife instead of a humanoid like most the ones we've seen? lmao

-the ghosts just making new homes in various stores. I'd totally be setting up in an expensive clothing store if I was a ghost.

-valerie's dad is possibly the most useful adult so far, with that ghost shield expansion!!! and valerie saving vlad and danny, even tho shes been thru it already, shes still so good!!! this family rules.

-danny: *gently caresses valerie* :)

-*then he immediately TELLS HER DAD ON HER. and his first response is 'are you okay?' :'( such a good dad...

-*me every time fright knight breathes* youre doing SO great sweetie :)

-the fenton suit thing is so silly looking. does anyone take this thing seriously

-ALL THE GHOSTS FIGHTING WITH DANNY <3 AAAAA. and the fact that pariah isn't perma-defeated, but just locked away again. yikes. he'll probably get out again, won't he? it wasn't too clear, but if vlad DID make a pact with fright knight, I am rabid. I will beat vlad to death with the fenton bat (tm). YOU DONT DESERVE A COOL KNIGHT.

-valerie being direct with sam and challenging her? kinda love that, even tho I normally don't like 'catfight' type situations. because sam has been very passive aggressive about it which is annoying. valerie knows wtf she wants and wasn't even embarrassed to tell sam, but she did tell her, giving sam time to make her own move! and sam denied it and got embarrassed/mad! and sam did have a chance when danny was about to go off and fight, and she hesitated and didn't tell him. I feel like she's hesitating because they're friends and it might make it weird between the trio (poor tucker would be third-wheeling) but if u snooze u lose, u gotta GO after what u WANT girl. smh this is a No Tsundere Zone. 😤

A year of BL Love

I discovered BL for the first time this year, and boy what a year it was! I wanted to write up a quick and simple review of the shows that I watched just to finish off the year. So here goes! (Spoilers EVERYWHERE. So... be careful.)

Shows that I loved, will definitely rewatch in the future, and will skip very little of when I do:

The Untamed - beautiful story, beautiful production, all around worth every second of the 50 episodes. technically not a BL because of censorship, but still managed to portray the most beautiful love story I watched all year. Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan deserve every second of the acclaim and praise they have received for this masterpiece! 10/10

Until We Meet Again - I love every couple in this series with all my heart! a lot of people felt it was slow but I honestly just thought it was a beautiful story full of love and heartache and friendship and just... uhg, everything. I will rewatch this one again and again and again. 10/10

Like In The Movies - this one was heartbreaking and hopeful and beautiful and tragic and sweet and just altogether perfect in every way. I need the sequel right now immediately please! 10/10

He’s Coming To Me - this one was so good?!! I don’t know how a show about a love story between a ghost that was murdered 20 years ago and a university student could be so perfect, but it was? the only thing that was a little iffy was the previous relationship between Met and Thun’s mom. this one is sweet and sad (Met is dead afterall) and has love and mystery and good side characters and friendships. yeah. just altogether great. 9/10

HIStory 3: Trapped - fascinating story (I want so many more BL’s that AREN’T set in high school/university please!) and great chemistry between both couples. the acting was fantastic and the storyline was compelling. I truly love this show except for the fact that we’re not getting that sequel they were hinting at and that makes me SAD because it makes the ending hurt so much even if it was a hopeful one. 9/10

HIStory 2: Crossing the Line - cute story, amazing actors, wonderful side characters, just all around great! the only reason it’s not getting a perfect score is because I feel very OLD when watching highschool storylines. it makes the intimate scenes... awkward. even if the actors are adults. 9/10

Where Your Eyes Linger - loved the storyline, loved the chemistry and dynamics of the couple, the ending was rushed and left me wanting so much more, but since it was one of the first Korean BL’s to ever be produced it was wonderful. 8/10

Cherry Magic - I love Adachi and Kurosawa with all my heart! this show was so good. so so good! the only reason I’m not giving it a higher rating is because Tsuge and Minato’s storyline gives me so much secondhand embarrassment ALL THE TIME! but they’re still so cute despite that, so it’s not horrible. Rokkaku and Fujisaki are SO CUTE and the perfect side characters. basically this show is perfect (except for the second hand embarrassment) and the fact that we never got a proper kiss. like... I don’t need skinship in every BL show I watch, but that last second cutaway in the end was just... frustrating. 8/10

Theory of Love - OffGun have my whole heart and are 80% of the reason I love this show so much. but also I really liked the story line and the way Third and Kai’s relationship progressed throughout the show. it had a perfect resolution for all the couples (including the teacher/student ‘couple’ which I usually HATE) and was definitely a stand out from all the multitude of ‘university’ shows out there. 8/10

3 Will Be Free - this was was so interesting and lovely and tragic and I loved every single second of it... up until the last ten minutes. I almost put it lower just because of the ending. we deserved a happy, loving bisexual polyship d*mn it! but I’ll definitely rewatch it again. and stop right before the end when I do. 8/10

Because of You 2020 - ridiculous nonsense that I will gladly watch again! really there is no justifying this one being in my top list because it is NONSENSE but it makes me happy and that’s all that matters. all three couples are adorable and the last scene makes me smile so much! 8/10

Shows that I liked and will probably watch again, but will be skipping a lot of parts when I do:

My Engineer - this show should be in my top list. but I HATE BohnDuen so much. so so much. and they are the main couple. so because of them when I rewatch this show (which I have several times now) I have to skip 60% of it because I really really hate them. so much. but the other three couples make up for it - especially RamKing who GIVE ME LIFE - so it’s at the top of my ‘not the top’ list. 7/10

Mr. Heart - this one was cute, but I felt like the couple was very... lop-sided. Sang Ha was almost obsessed with Jin Won before they ever even properly met and that gave me a weird feeling. their relationship was cute by the end, but... idk. and the whole side story with Sang Ha and the debt collectors was... odd. I felt like it was a very serious storyline that they did not take seriously at all. very off-putting. but altogether the show was cute enough, and short enough, to deserve a rewatch. 6/10

Why R U - I just... did not like SaifahZon. like... at all. Zon’s character annoyed me, their dynamic was... off, and Zon’s sister makes me so mad I can’t watch her at all. I adore FighterTutor (they are one of my favorite couples which is why this show is still getting such a high rating) and I have rewatched their part of the show 3 times now. but the rest, including the THREE other side couples (seriously? 5 couples in one show? why? it’s too f*cking much!)... no. no thank you. 6/10

Roommates The Series - it was cute, and did very well on a VERY low budget and a very limited cast because they filmed during the pandemic (or after the worst of it was over in their country at least). the side female characters were great (a rarity in BL’s for sure!) and there was a few really great scenes that I loved. altogether a bit of a lackluster show compared to others, but definitely worth at least one watch. 6/10

Tharntype - I know how problematic this show is, alright? but it’s fictional, and sometimes people like things in their fictional stories that they HATE in real life... all the very serious consent issues for one. that being said, if I had been watching the show as it aired I probably would have given up on it by, like, episode 2. as it was I knew everything that happened before I ever started watching and that gave me the freedom to appreciate the storyline for what it would become at the end. I love MewGulf and the way they portrayed Tharn and Type. I thought Tar’s storyline was interesting and heartbreaking and he is a precious bean that I want to protect with all my heart. however, a big factor in this series not making it into my top list is the handling of Lhong and the ending of his story. you want me to feel sorry for that monster? are you kidding me?!! he should have been locked up in prison for the rest of his life, not had Tharn’s brother come APOLOGIZE to him as if he was the one who was wronged. if that hadn’t happened, despite all the problematic things in this show, I would probably have put this in my top list. 6/10

Wish You - this one had SO MUCH POTENTIEL. the storyline was unique, the ‘twist’ reveal was interesting, and the main characters had a lot of chemistry. and everything was RUSHED RUSHED RUSHED! this show needed at LEAST 5-6 more episodes. there was no time to develop the relationship between In Soo and Sang Yi, and I wanted them to so badly! there was no time to deal with the ‘twist’ and the fallout that happened from it. everything just happened and then you moved on, and then more things happened and you moved on. uhg. despite all that I’m putting this one a little higher because the actors, writing, and production value were very good. but gosh do I wish there was so much more of it. the wasted potential is painful. 6/10

The Effect - wow. this one was... not what I was expecting. be cautious of watching this because it could be VERY triggering. but the acting was PHENOMENAL! I think they took a very dark and serious subject and portrayed it with a lot of care. one of the best things about it was Shin’s friends reaction to his trauma and how carefully and kindly they helped him heal. beautiful to watch! the only reason this is not getting a higher rating is because that ending was INFURIATING! absolutely unforgivable for them to leave it so ambiguous like that. Shin deserved to have a clear and obvious happy ending. not... whatever the hell that was. 6/10

Love By Chance - AePete are precious and adorable and I love them. But Ae’s possessiveness in the later episodes really bothers me, the fact that Perth was 17 when they were filming really bothers me, and once AePete get together halfway through the show it’s like they just get dropped to focus on TinCan which is a couple I can’t stand even a little. and don’t even get me STARTED on Techno and Kengkla. just... just don’t. that whole ‘relationship’ is 85% of the reason I refuse to watch the sequel. altogether, I probably WON’T watch this one again, but I probably would at least have watched the AePete and TumTar (yes, I liked them leave me alone about it) storylines if Perth wasn’t so young, so I’m still giving it a 5/10

Together With Me - MaxTul are fire both on and off screen and I love them with all my heart, but I hated, like, 95% of the show that wasn’t strictly about them. teacher/student storyline? gross. couple with a huge age-gap that ends up being super toxic and emotionally destroying a sweet and lovely character? thanks, I HATE IT. yet another BL portraying the girlfriend as a conniving b*tch so that we’re okay with one half of the main couple being a cheater while they figure out their sexuality crisis? ew ew and more ew. honestly if it wasn’t for the fact that they had two fantastic side female characters (again, such a rarity in BL’s!) and the pure intense chemistry between KornKnock this show probably would have been put even lower. 5/10

Dark Blue Kiss - I can’t stand PeteKao? like... why do so many people love them so much? Pete is SO JEALOUS ALL THE TIME! I just want to smack him! and he’s also completely not understanding of Kao’s fear of coming out. he basically spent the entire show sabotaging his own relationship and then blaming it all on Kao! uhg. no. just no. but I love SunMork with all my heart and wanted them to have so much more development and screen time. it would have made the final scene with them so much better if they had just had TIME to really show their relationship and how it grew, instead of just getting them together and deciding that was good enough. I’ll watch their part again I’m sure, but only their part. 5/10

Shows that were very subpar - I may rewatch some of these for a specific couple but only if I’m really bored and feel like skipping 80% of the show:

#MyDay - I know there’s a lot of people that really like this one. but... oof. the writing was so bad. so so bad! the pacing of the show was weird, there were some major moments that needed a LOT more attention, and some minor moments that got way more screen time than they needed. things were just... awkward all the time when they weren’t meant to be. and again, we have a character that needed to go TO PRISON but ended up being forgiven in the end. just... no. I’m honestly only putting this show as high as I am because the chemistry between Ace and Sky was fantastic. but that wasn’t enough to save this trainwreck. I might watch the sequel for them. maybe. but also maybe not. 4/10

Quaranthings - this one had so much potential but was honestly just so subpar in the end. I really just don’t even have much to say about it. it’s worth watching, I guess. but put it at the bottom of your list, after you’ve watched all the better stuff. 4/10

YYY (and the 3 special eps) - look... weird shows are just not my thing. I love Lay and his portrayal of Punn, Nott was okay as the lead character, but the side characters and storylines were... bizarre. I get that it was supposed to be a parody of other BL’s and their tropes... but honestly I like tropes. and this show was just... too bizarre. especially the three special episodes. in fact... I’m just now remembering I never watched the 3rd one. oops. 4/10

En of Love - This was such a mix and match of good and bad. I didn’t like Tossara AT ALL. Gun pressured Bar into that relationship, including flat out blackmailing him with his necklace to force him to go out with him! they may have been happy in the end, but Bar was CLEARLY uncomfortable with Gun’s advances for most of the first three episodes and it really grossed me out. I kind of liked Mark and Vee together, but the issue with Mark’s girlfriend was frustrating and their whole relationship was just a little bit toxic. and I actually liked Neua and Pra-Ram... AFTER they let us know that Pra-Ram was a legal adult. I hated their relationship up until they had the birthday party because I thought Pra was 17. I’m still a little iffy about a very experienced third year student in university dating a very inexperienced high school student. but at least it wasn’t ILLEGAL. oof. 4/10

HIStory 1: Obsessed/Stay Away from Me/My Hero - My Hero and Stay Away From Me were cute enough although I’ll probably never rewatch them, but Obsessed was toxic and horrible and gross in all senses of the word. -4 for that one which puts the whole series at a 3/10

Tien Bromance - y’all this one is... I don’t even know how to describe it. weird. bizarre. confusing. badly written. strangely acted. (the acting wasn’t bad... it was just... strange.) I watched the special episodes first and thought it was just a cute little domestic family drama with some strange moments. then I watched the rest. and the fact that the first episode started off with a ghost possessing and killing like 8 people while they were on vacation at a lake was the least weird thing that happened. 3/10

Craving You - no. the storyline makes no sense. why are a popular cake baker and an upcoming musician partnering together? why? it doesn’t make any sense! And one of the lead actors is just SO BLAND. I think he was going for ‘quiet and sad’ but just ended up with ‘emotionless and boring’. the most compelling part of the show was the side character dealing with the unexplored feelings that he had for his first love that were denied to him by a homophobic family and how those feelings are now interfering with his current relationship. the rest was pointless and bland. 3/10

My Gear and Your Gown - I liked this one SO MUCH for the first 3-4 episodes. then is went downhill and FAST. Pai and Itt had no chemistry for the last 8 episodes. they spend the whole show angry at each other and then we’re just supposed to accept them getting together in the end because Itt confessed his feelings. like... that’s not enough! the best part of the show was PureFolk. Pure finally believing in love again because he met the ray of sunshine and sweetness that is Folk? yes please! but even their storyline was not fantastic because it got rushed and pushed aside in the end to focus on Pai and Itt breaking up AGAIN and having to deal with the issue of homophobic parents for all of one episode. the last episode was so pointless! there was no reason to shoehorn in that last little bit of drama. none. 3/10

Oxygen - uhg. I do not understand why so many people liked this one so much. Solo’s feelings for Gui were UNHEALTHY. he became obsessed with him over one tiny act of kindness! that’s... that’s not love. that is a broken young boy desperately seeking out love and forcing it onto someone because he doesn’t know what it’s supposed to be like. and the side story with the fujoshi barista and her brother and the doctors was creepy and weird. the only good part of this show was PhuKao but they got about 3 minutes of screen time per episode. I would watch a sequel with them in a heart beat, but leave everyone else out of it! 2/10

Shows I’m currently watching but haven’t finished airing yet so my rating may change:

Manner of Death - this show is EVERYTHING! the murder mystery, the suspense, the suspicion, the CHEMISTRY! I have no idea what’s going on or who I trust or don’t trust (except for Dr. Bunn and Sorn, they are precious rays of sunshine!) but I love every second of it. MaxTul are FIRE and I am so so happy to get to watch them in a story like this! 10/10

Ingredients - this show is EVERYTHING! and yes, I just said that about MoD, but this one is on the complete opposite side of the ‘everything’ spectrum and I love it with all my heart. Win and Tops are SO. FREAKING. CUTE! their pining for each other for eighteen d*mn episodes was so beautiful and sweet and infuriating! their love for each other as friends above all else is precious and perfect! and now that they’re actually together my heart just bursts every time I see them. I think the series only has 1 or 2 episodes left and I am DEVESTATED because I want 20 more! 10/10

TonhonChonlatee - I watched the first two episodes then stopped. I’ve been ‘watching’ the rest via people’s reactions to new episodes online. I get that Tonhon’s homophobia and toxic masculinity is supposed to be awful and is a major plot point in the show... but I don’t want to f*cking WATCH it! I’m hoping we’re getting to a point in the show where he’s calming the f*ck down and starting to learn better and BE better. I want to watch this show. but I can’t watch THAT. 3/10

Color Rush - this one has started off fantastically! the story is interesting and the characters are compelling already. but... I can tell you right now that it’s going to go the way of all the other Korean BL’s that came out this year. it’s not going to have enough time. AT ALL. it’s going to be rushed, I just know it. I applaud Korea for getting into BL’s in the first place and for giving us such interesting storylines and characters to watch, but these 10 minute, 8 episode shows are KILLING me with want of better development! 7/10

2. ** LBC Aftermath series by Mara - LBC/TharnType crossover- ~6700 words, mature - Were you too horrified by Techno’s ending in LBC? This author feels your pain and did her part to get some justice for Techno. This fic has zero sympathy for Kengkla, which I deeply appreciated. This will help you work out some of your anger. It features LBC!Techno and the TharnType versions of Tharn and Type. Mind the warnings, since this deals with the serious consequences of Kengkla’s actions.

Kengkla stayed at the house through the morning and Techno was so jumpy he nearly leaped out of his skin every time Kla looked at him or talked to him. Even though Kla had explained what happened and how he wasn’t upset to be dating, Techno still felt weird. He kind of wished he remembered what had happened. A guy should remember how he lost his virginity, right?

Kla grabbed him in a big hug and Techno froze, managing a weak grin when Kla pulled back to smile at him. “I’ve got to go home now. But I’ll call you later. Let me know if you go somewhere.”

“O-okay.” Techno stared as the boy let himself out the front door.

3. 5 + 1 by strokeofluck - Tin/Can- ~3600 words, rated general - This is a sweet story about the times when Pete sees Tin having feelings for Can.

Pete weighed his options as he glanced back and forth between Tin and Can. Can didn’t seem to be bothered by the whole thing, he even had a shy smile on his face. Or at least, Pete thought it was a shy smile, he had never really seen this kind of expression coming from Can before.

He could let this whole thing go, he supposed, but he didn’t really want to. It was time for him to finally say to Tin: I told you so.

“You were born in Bangkok,” he said, casting a wide net and hoping Can would find himself caught in it.

Can did.

4. That Testified Surprise by Mara - Techno/Tharn/Type - ~7000 words, mature - This is a LBC canon rewrite that stars the TharnType version of all three characters. Type realizes something is not...quite...right with Kengkla and invites Techno to stay with him and Tharn instead of going home drunk.

Pouring Techno into the passenger seat, Type sat down in the driver’s seat and pulled the phone out to check it, entering the passcode. (The passcode was the birthday of Thai national football team captain Siwarak Tedsungnoen, of course. Duh.)

Fuck, it looked like Nic had been either texting or calling every 20 minutes since they got to the bar. What was up there?

Scrolling back through the evening’s texts, Type scowled harder. Loving brother or not, this was fucking creepy. Going back farther, it looked like it was a pattern. Did the kid do anything other than pester his brother about his whereabouts?

THARNTYPE

And then they were covering his hands and Tharn’s face was mere centimeters from his and Type could barely breathe. It took everything he had not to lean forward and capture those lips that also belonged to him, but he had a feeling if he tried, Tharn wouldn’t let him. He had that look on his face and Type knew what it meant.

He knew he was in for a long rest of the night.

6. You’ve Got Mail by perthbysaint - ~7800 words, explicit - Type sends Tharn nudes at the most inconvenient times.

A selfie? From Type? Tharn was thanking all of his lucky stars as he happily taps to load the image. The picture loads and Tharn’s phone slips from his suddenly lax grip. Convinced he couldn’t have just seen what he thought he just saw, he picks his phone up hastily and stares very intently at the picture.

It’s a mirror selfie, obviously taken in a changing room, but that thought comes secondary to thighs. Type is holding the camera in front of his face to take the picture, shirt clenched in his other hand and pulled up slightly to show off the shorts. The fucking shorts. He had seen Type in his soccer gear before and yes, Type has most definitely asked for the wrong size and Tharn is more grateful than he’s ever been for anything in his whole life. The shorts are riding up so high they can’t cover more than a few inches of skin, Type’s smooth, powerful thighs on full display. On the inside of his left thigh, there’s a tiny purple mark peeking out from under the bottom of the shorts. Tharn knows exactly what it is because he was the one who left it there just two days ago when he sucked marks into Type’s thighs for a half-hour before he slung Type’s legs over his shoulders and ate him out until Type was sobbing fat tears and begging Tharn to let him come.

This Forth is great, and the story retcons their first time to something far more pleasant for Beam.

"We're heading into a unit on disorders of the spine and I need to review my basic skeletal and muscular anatomy. But it feels stupid to keep studying these weird-looking diagrams and drawings." None of this was, strictly speaking, factual, but an engineering major wouldn't know any different. Beam gathered up all his bravado, walked behind Forth, and began rucking up his shirts as if this were completely normal.

"What! I..."

"Shut up, I need to look at a real back so I know what I'll be looking at as a doctor." Forth let him take the shirts off, glancing back at him several times but giving in meekly to Beam's stern look. Forth shuffled the papers some more.

"All right. Okay, um...Ah!" Beam smirked at Forth's reaction as he ran his thumbs down the nape of his neck.

9. Good Things Come To by sweetiejelly - Ming/Kit - ~4300 words, explicit - Kit gets drunk and reveals more of his feelings for Ming than he probably means to.

"Hmm." Kit closes his eyes and leans his head back on the headrest. "Ming, Ming, Ming. Do you know your name's a kiss? I'm kissing the air everytime I say 'Ming'!" Kit pops his mouth and it pops Ming's mind a bit. "And then I think about kissing you. Why do you make me think about you so damn much? You're so annoying, Ming. No one's ever..." and Kit leans to the side, almost like he's going to conk out or throw up, only to straighten back up. "... made me this crazy."

Oh shit. Ming doesn't know what to do with all of this information. He knew somewhere deep down that Kit likes him. Kit's eyes can't lie. Kit's mouth can't either, the cusses coming out whenever he's keyed up and flustered, and then there are his kisses.

10 + 11. ** how to fail flirt your way into his heart (a guide by Kit) and a little conversation (and a little action please) by sweetiejelly - Ming/Kit - ~30,000 words, explicit in the second part - This story makes a tiny plot divergence. It has Kit put a little more effort into finding out if Ming is really into Yo and then from there, it loosely follows the plot of the show with some key differences. I really enjoyed this.

"Can I have your number?" Kit mentally face-palms. Why? Damn Pha. Damn Beam. Just damn everything, ugh. He has never flirted in his life. Pin asked him out, okay? He doesn't know how to do this. "I'm Kit, Phana's friend," he says, trying to make it less weird.

"I'm Ming. And of course, P'Kit!" Ming flashes him an easy grin and holds out his hand.

Oh right, the phone. Kit shoves it at Ming, nearly hitting him in the chest. Great, he's acing this.

Ming smiles at him, bemused or confused, probably both, and brushes his hand, totally unnecessarily, over the back of Kit's hand as he takes the phone. "In case of emergency, right?" Ming looks up at him from under his lashes and boy, this nong is brazen.

12. ** In Control series by LokelaniRose - Ming/Kit - ~27,000 words, explicit - Kit struggles to tell Ming that he wants something other than the careful, gentle sex they’ve been having. Ming discovers that Kit has some anxiety and panic problems. He also discovers what helps him feel better. [spoilers: these two things are connected.] I love how attentive and caring Ming is throughout this series. The anxious Kit also rings true to the character we saw on the show.

But now that Kit is fretting over things, he might as well fret over this as well. So Ming is great in bed. And let’s be honest, Kit probably isn’t. He hasn’t had a hundred previous partners – okay, tiny exaggeration, but still – and doesn’t know all the fancy moves and techniques and tricks…and just like everything else, in bed Ming is somehow casual and sincere at the same time. He never seems to want anything except what Kit wants, is always happy to do whatever, to take his time making slow, gentle love to Kit. Kit knows that he always comes at least – he secretly really likes it when Ming comes, he’s not quite sure why – but what if there’s more that Kit could be doing, to make it better for him? If Kit was better in bed maybe it would make up for being a shitty boyfriend in other areas, one who can’t be nice in public or talk about his feelings.

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

13. another nightmare fic by itsmylifekay - Win/Team - ~2300 words, not rated - Team tries to sleep without Win and it doesn’t go well.

Team’s room feels suffocating, the air too thick and the space too dark and the covers sticking to his skin with sweat. His breaths are too loud in the quiet, but the quiet itself is deafening. It reminds him of the water. The muted sounds. The frantic pounding of his heart. (The same one he feels now echoed in his chest.)

Flashes of the dream come back to him unbidden.

Everything is too dark, too bright, no way to see what way is up or what way is down. He’s trapped. Can’t get out. Can’t breathe.

14. ** Different With You by blackrose9212 - Win/Team - ~6900 words, teen - It’s open swim week, which means that the swimming club offers free lessons to any of the students who would like to participate. Team doesn’t understand why his teammates hate it so much - until he does. Great jealousy in this one from both sides.

“Nice to meet you,” the boy gushes. “I hope you don’t mind, but I’d like to join your group. Auntie said there needs to be at least three people, and no one was sitting across from you two. I’ve been paying attention so I already have ideas. Is that okay?” Team watches as he pulls out his books and drops them onto the table, pushing them a little farther out so they’re nearly touching Win’s notebook.

Team shrugs. “Sure, that’s fine. I don’t think Win has been paying attention so I’m glad you have an idea of what’s going on.”

Win hits him lightly at the back of the hand and Film giggles behind his hand. “Oh, no, P’Win looks very smart. I’m sure he’s been listening.” He looks at Win and smiles a little, blushing when Win gives him a smile back.

Team looks between the two of them. Then back at Film, who’s watching Win leaf through his literature textbook like he’s never seen anything so beautiful, and then past Film at the table he left from, where he sees three boys, laughing behind their hands and making cooing faces.

15. seven hundred thirteen by Kiranokira - Win/Team - ~6800 words, mature - Win spends two years abroad in England, and he and Team have to navigate a long distance relationship. It’s very sweet and written very true to life.

“I kind of hoped you were going to show up at the airport tomorrow morning and chase the plane,” Win says. He kisses Team’s hair, lingering there to memorize the fresh, clear scent.

Team says, “Is it weird that I thought about doing that?” and Win feels him smile against his shoulder.

It’s late, nearly nine thirty, and Win had plans of how to spend tonight that can’t be realized anymore. He wanted to invite Team to dinner with his family. He wanted to play video games with Team and View. He wanted to talk about London with Waan and Team. He wanted to include Team in his family’s warmth in some small way, to make him feel less lonely.

He can’t do any of that now but he still wants to sneak Team upstairs and have him in his arms all night. He wouldn’t, but he wants to. It’s been a month since he moved off campus permanently, and weeks since he was last able to spend a night alone with Team.

16. ** You Can Cry by Kiranokira - Win/Team - ~19,600 words, mature - Win goes missing while on vacation with some friends. Team is left at home trying to handle it. I like the way the author built up to the accident happening. They did a good job creating tension and showing us exactly how Team felt about Win. And spoilers, this story has a happy ending.

“You’re going to fail out of university,” Team tells him. “You’re not really going, are you?”

Win rolls onto his side and perches his cheek on his hand. “What if I say yes?” he asks. “Will you miss me?”

Team’s warning look is more venomous than usual. “Not at all,” Team says, and Win smirks because that isn’t true and they both know it. “You still shouldn’t go. What if you miss the flight back? You’ll fail out and I’ll break up with you for being a dumbass.”

The very recent phenomenon of Team acknowledging that they’re a couple has its usual melting effect on Win’s heart.

2GETHER

17. ** Love Songs on Our Skin series by Kari_Kurofai - Sarawat/Tine - ~15,700 words, explicit - A soulmark AU where Tine is born with the notes to a song that hasn’t yet been written wrapped around his chest. I enjoyed how Tine’s obliviousness in the show carries over to this fic.

Only Mr. Chic would have a song no one had ever fucking heard of permanently etched on his chest. For fuck's sake .

Still, he waves it off, and he tries not to look too closely at other people's marks. Tries being the key word. He doesn't envy the elegant watercolors of a guitar pick and an open novel he catches sight of on the wrists of some couple's interlinked hands when he's in town. And he certainly doesn't envy the dude he once saw in a coffee shop with the words " I hate you " scrawled across the back of his neck. But yeah, okay, he might be a little jealous of the people who are lucky enough to have something as simple as their soulmate's name on their skin. That definitely isn't fair.

"Why couldn't it at least have been a Scrubb song?" he asks the mirror as he wipes it clear shower-born condensation. The mirror and him are well acquainted with this conversation by now. In fact, the mirror sees the stupid mark more than anyone, so it might as well put up with his equally stupid questions. "It could have been 'Together.' Just think of it, how romantic it would be to meet some cute girl's eyes after bumping into them at a concert, my favorite song playing . . ." He draws a nail over the winding bars of the music on his chest, frowning. "That would be so much easier."

18. Drown Your Sorrows by HyacinthsSoul - 2gether/Theory of Love - Sarawat and Third meet at a bar and bond over being in love with oblivious men.

“No, he’s an angel,” Sarawat says. “Unfortunately he’s a very stupid, very straight angel.”

“Mine’s stupid too,” the other man admits. “But definitely no angel. I’m Third, by the way,” he adds, offering a slender hand to shake.

“Sarawat,” says Sarawat. “Can I buy you another? I think we’re drinking the same thing, although I can’t remember what it’s called.”

20. ** Your Body Is My Instrument by Kari_Kurofai - Sarawat/Tine - ~12,000 words, explicit - This fic does a good job doing what, in this reccer’s humble opinion, the series failed to: showing Tine attracted to Sarawat. There’s great first time sex and some fun sexual tension. Plus, we get to see them switch off, which is extremely rare in BL. And most importantly: hand kink.

It starts innocently enough. Or, well, innocently enough for a guy whose first words to him were, “Keep looking at me like that and I’ll kiss you till you drop.” So, you know. It starts kinda like that.

They’ve been officially dating for a grand sum total of three days and altogether not that much has changed. Except that Sarawat touches him more now. Normally this would be fine, no big deal, right? But Sarawat has magic, evil hands, and apparently all he has to do is glance Tine’s way to deduce the exact right places and ways to touch Tine to drive him up the fucking wall.

And the worst part is it’s almost never the same place or the same way twice, and the only warning Tine ever gets is that sneaky little glint Sarawat gets in his eyes just before he does it, the bastard.

MY ENGINEER

21. Cool Boy(friend) by HyacinthsSoul - Ram/King - ~22,000 words, explicit - So this is technically a WIP, but each chapter feels like a completed fic without a cliffhanger or anything. This is a very sweet, comfortable story about King and Ram getting to know each other as their relationship develops.

In the selfie King sends, he’s holding up a full shot glass while someone’s arm reaches into the frame to hand him another kind of drink, something tall with a straw and a paper umbrella. Ram frowns. Whose arm is that? The person is wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, which doesn’t match what any of their friend group was wearing, and the engineer bar doesn’t offer table service.

Frowning, Ram looks back through the previous photos until he spots a detail he’d overlooked before: a red-shirted man at a neighboring table. He’s visible in the background of two or three pictures taken by Tee, and in each of them he’s staring intently at King.

Not that it’s any of Ram’s business. Not that he cares.

HISTORY3: TRAPPED

22. it’s too late (to turn back now) by stebeee - Tang Yi/Meng Shao Fei - ~7200 words, general audiences - Canon divergence fic where Tang Yi pushes Shao Fei away after he saves Hong Ye in order to try and protect him. Shao Fei reacts to that about as well as you’d expect.

“Tang Yi, what do you mean-“

“I think you’ve fooled around for long enough,” Tang Yi interrupts, his voice cold, nothing like the man who had dabbed at his lips with a cotton bud last night, the man who had smiled at him when he made the cannon joke.

“You’ve disrupted my life, and the life of my family and friends in the past few weeks, Meng Shao Fei. This has gone for long enough,” he continues, unwavering. “I don’t want to have anything more to do with you. Take a good rest here in the hospital, and I’ll get someone to pack up your things back at the house. Jack will deliver it back to your apartment.”

23 + 24. ** just waiting, waiting (on you) and between you and me by stebeee - Tang Yi/Meng Shao Fei - ~16,000 words, general audiences - These are stories about how Shao Fei and the rest of the gang deal over the years when Tang Yi is in jail. Found family fics are my jam, so I loved this.

The thing is, it’s been almost three months of this. 90 days, give or take. 2,160 hours. 129,600 minutes. And more than 7 million seconds of this — not having Tang Yi at his side.

Shao Fei wonders for a moment if he will ever stop seeing Tang Yi in every corner of the house. When he comes down the stairs in the morning, some part of him expects to see Tang Yi standing at the kitchen island with a bright smile, asking him if he wants jam with his toast that morning. Shao Fei sees Tang Yi in that apron he loves, cooking at the stove when he fixes himself dinner, alone in the spacious kitchen. Seeing Tang Yi’s favourite blue bathrobe, Shao Fei can almost see Tang Yi leaving the bathroom, his hair all wet and falling over his eyes.

25. amuse bouche by sarahyyy - Jack/Zhao Zi - ~2400 words, general audiences - This is more of Jack seducing Zhao Zi through food and attention. So basically an extension of the show. Mother hen Jack is the cutest.

“Jack?” Zhao Zi murmurs blearily. “Why are you here?”

“Why didn’t you tell me you were sick?” Jack shoots back, herding Zhao Zi back into the house. He checks for Zhao Zi’s temperature with the back of his hand. “Fever?”

“Just the flu for now, I think?” Zhao Zi says.

Jack purses his lips. “Have you had anything to eat?”

“I had some bread earlier?” Zhao Zi says, but he also looks shifty enough that Jack mostly takes it with a grain of salt.

26. Absolutely Nothing Goes Wrong by anon - Jack/Zhao Zi - ~4500 words, teen - This is an AU where Zhao Zi is the son of a rival mob boss, but he’s still, you know HIMSELF. And when his father says he’s useless, he decides to prove him wrong by seducing Tang Yi’s second-in-command. It’s absolutely adorable.

The man pulled him by the arm, resisting Zhao Zi’s attempts to unhook his claws without causing a scene.

“Hey, stop grabbing me!” he shouted, as the other man played deaf.

“While I admit this is a very loud bar, I didn’t think it was quite so easy to mishear what this young man just yelled straight into your ear,” a newcomer who’d witnessed their conflict said lightly as he walked up to them. His words were accompanied by a wide, almost chilling smile. Zhao Zi blinked once and the odd peculiarity of that smile vanished, leaving just a regular smile in its place. He must’ve just been imagining things under the harsh shadows of the dimly lit bar.

27. Sorry A Thousand Times - Fighter/Tutor - ~3200 words, explicit - This is a canon divergence for the series finale. I needed more catharsis after the intensity of episode 12.

Tutor narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists at his sides. He took a deep breath. “How many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone before you listen?” he asked. I don’t know how many more times I can bring myself to say it.

“Only once,” Fight said and then added, “if you mean it.”

Tutor crossed his arms over his chest and said, “What makes you think I don’t mean it now?”

The corner of Fight’s mouth turned up and he took a step closer. Tutor stumbled back until he was stopped by his legs hitting the edge of the bed. Fight reached out a hand and gently ran the back of his fingers over the line of Tutor’s jaw.

Until We Meet Again

28. Dream On - Win/Team - 8900 words, explicit - Takes place alongside show canon, so that we see how the bed sharing began and how Win and Team’s relationship developed over that year.

“Do you want to do well tomorrow?” Win asked, throwing one of his legs over both of Team’s.

“Then you need to get some sleep. I’m helping.”

“How is this helping?” Team demanded.

Pt.3 Devilman Crybaby Post (anime spoilers)

Alright so this is the last post and honestly i forgot to talk about the last episodes 7-10. Can u feel my depression while writing this, bro the sadness is never ending. I have become one with the mf void, and within it there is no self, no thoughts, no emotions just darkness.

Also TW alot of this stuff is extremely gory and dark (lots of horrible deaths that I may talk about, so tread lightly)

Lets just say things took a turn for the......first of all WTAF Homeskillet NOOOOOOOOOOO (if u haven’t read part 1 of this post homeskillet is Taro Makimura) HE ATE HIS FREAKING MOM, AND WHEN I TELL U I GAGGED AND FELT MY EYES TEARING UP. THAT WAS THE MOST TWISTED THING I EVER SAW AND THE DAD FOUND THEM. Basically the mom had taken Taro away from the family when she learned that he was a demon, also i thought he was a devilman but he didn’t win against the demon so he was taken over. But in the scene when he’s slowly eating his mother, and his dad is screaming why pointing a gun at his son, who he now realizes is his son. Taro’s demon begins to tear up making me believe that Taro was conscious but not in control of his actions. And thats when the tears begin to fall, and the dad was screaming and crying at how unfair the world was and how disgusting the sight in front of him was he couldn’t bring himself to shoot. So then the army guys who kill demons came and the dad begged them not to kill his son, but without hesitation they fired on dad and Taro, subsequently killing both. Akira tried to save them but was ultimately too late and ended up atleast grabbing the bodies and burying them.

The next scene in the episode shows Akira crying while on his knees infront of three graves (with crosses) on what looks like a hill. And I wondered if this was alluding to the three crosses who stood on Golgatha’s hill. This definetly marked a turning point for Akira and how he felt about Ryo. Anyway demons from everywhere popped up and tried to kill Akira at the instructions of Psycho Jenny, but then Miko saves him.

OH SCHNAPP I FORGOT TO TELL YALL Miko is a devilman and sis ate MY KING OF SPOKEN WORD and I think she ate her grandmother too. Anyway she really uses her new abilities to her advantage and wants to be better than Miki M. She later confesses that her jealousy and hate was just her inability to come to terms that she loved Miki and looked up to her, she didn’t like being outdone when she was used to being the best. Anyway she saves Akira from the demons trying to kill him. At this same moment Ryo is having a come to jesus moment (more like come to satan moment) he realizes that he is SATAN. I FUCKING KNEW IT. Anyway he goes on air, and stirs chaos by OUTING AKIRA. If i could throw hands and get my grandma to pray the mess outta that fool I would, damn he really didn’t have to do him like that so the whole worlds now knows that humans can become demons, so people begin to openly attack everybody. Anyway that public call out puts a target on Akira.

Akira and Miki have a moment where shes like even as a devilman he’s still the crybaby she’s always known and love. oh btw Miki now knows her parents are dead and so is her little brother. Let me tell u her screams of anguish THAT SHIT HURTED. Anyway The Spoken Word Squad is now friends with Miki because the main dude gotta crush on her, and THEY ARE SO MF LOYAL THE REAL MVP’S of THE SHOW. (except shorty he really played us) Anyway Akira goes to get answers and confront Ryo and u can see the betrayal on his face he truly still believed Ryo was trying to make the world a better place. Anyway a mob descends on the Makimura household and the Spoken Word Squad says to leave it to them. At this point I am bawling my eyes out, and i’m slowly being pulled apart by the void. Miko takes Miki on her back to try and escape from the mob but those hoes mad angry and for what reason, anyway before this Miki made a twitter post talking about how much she loved Akira i think in the familial since tho, and how even though he is a devilman he is still who he used to be and that the humans are capable of loving them even though they are different. He’s not the enemy they should be focusing on.

So as u may have guesses SPOKEN WORD SQUAD DIED, eversingle one of them, but not without being the baddest bitches every before going out. Seriously Homeslice with the dread had that crowbar and my boi was swinging and taking hoes out, but homie ended up getting over powered and visciously stabbed to death. The same happen to the dude who was crushing on Miki M basically there were just too many people(those people were the real monsters, giving into raw fear to tear into children like that)

Anyway Miko and Miki are making there escape and they end up on their old running path, and its really sad. A jeep comes out of nowhere and everybody a motherfucking automated weapons. And they continue shooting at Miko and Miki until they bring them down, Miko urges Miki to run and continue running until she’s safe and to leave her behind. Miki runs and then the show the screen with them as kids running and passing the baton. Miko passes Miki the baton signaling her death, then Miki continues to run with the baton she’s trying to catch up to Akira who in front of her but she can’t seem to and then someone in real life shoots her in the legs, but she keeps moving and finally she’s able to pass the baton to Akira. At this moment (not me tearing up as I write this) she is tackled by some guy who stabs her and she screams out, calling out for Akira. But he never makes it.

Akira goes to this place where humans have crucified other humans and there are throwing stuff at them. Akira comes and shields them, and cries out that if they should kill someone kill him. In the midst of his crying, a voice over of miki’s letter is played. And like in the bible a little child shall lead them, which a little boy goes up to Akira to hug his leg and other kids follow the mob stops throwing stuff and now some adults are coming up to Akira to apologize hugging him and crying and they help the people they had crucified. In the midst of this the demons convince Track Homie to betray Akira even though Akira was helping him. So he impales Akira with his horn thing, in the process trampling many of the humans who had been standing near, causing a panic. Demons come out of nowhere and Akira gets away.

Now Akira has made it back to Miki’s house after a big fight with Ryo promising to defeat the other. He gets there to find the house up in flames and a mob surrounding it all whooping and cheering. He focuses on the mob and almost throws up finding that Miki, Miko and the Spoken Word Squad had all been decapitated and amputated and their limbs where pushed down on spikes which were being lifted and waved around for all to see by the mob. In a fit of rage and sadness at the fact that humans had done this he releases a fiery blaze crisping the humans in the mob. He swiftly leaves and the final strand attaching him to Ryo breaks. In Ryo’s tranformation to satan they now are naked, full breast and genetalia on display with big white wings. Ryo tells Akira that he doesn’t want to fight him, he did all of this so they could be together. But Akira said he has enough spite and anger for both of then and charges, they have a midair battle and the demons back up Ryo, in the end other Devilman come to help Akira lending him limbs so that he may continue fighting sacrificing themselves.

The fight is long and sad, you can tell immediately that Akira is no match for Ryo. The scene changes to when they were younger as children, playing in the snow and going to hotsprings, exploring and just enjoying each others company. It shows just how pure and adorable Akira was and how Ryo always showed sign of not having any regards for life and believing that the weak deserved to die. Then it changes scenes to the baton passing scene showing the baton being passed from miko to miki then to akira and finally akira trying to pass the baton to Ryo but the baton keeps dropping between then, it happens several time until it drops one last time and the new scene is of the sky. Ryo’s voice is speaking to Akira as he stares at the sky, we see the side profile of Akira and his eyes are open but he’s not responding.

Ryo continues to speak about them as children, then the screen pans to the sky showing broken planets and the earth around them is destroyed all that remains are broken pieces and the heel they are on. No other signs of life. Ryo asks Akira a question, and believes him to just still be mad at him but then he touches his face and says he’s been so quiet. Finally he cries and he exclaims how he doesn’t understand these feeling and asks Akira what these feelings are.

Akira finally hands Ryo the baton.

The scene pans to show us Akira missing half of his body and dead. Ryo cries out to Akira pleading with him to say something, then he pleads that Akira not leave him alone. He continues to sob into Akira and plead to not be left alone as the screen moves further away from them, showing the actual destruction caused by their fight which basically destroyed the solar system.

So yeah, i am one with the void, devoid of emotions, thoughts, and feelings. I belong to the darkness, how tf am i supposed to feel after that. I-i just wanted Akira to be happy, but apparently that was too much to ask. Goddamn THE WHOLE MF SOLAR SYSTEM. I cried so hard my brother was actually worried about me, I had puffy red eyes and couldn’t stop my mf hiccups. and warning i do no cute cry, that shit was really ugly.

So yeah, I thought it was really good, definitely not for everybody though. Imma need to watch some Ouran Highschool Host Club. Also prayed with my grandma the other day for extra protection. But umm somebody please tell me what the relationship between Akira and Ryo because the end scene got me confused. I think it Ryo realizing his feeling for Akira because he didn’t want him to die and realized Akira had always been there for him. So this was def a wild ride, Miki was honeslty a pretty solid person except when she was modeling for that creepy dude. And then sis went to his house and asked for a shower, I was like sis are u DumbDDumbDDDDumb, luckily Akira was there because Ryo out here killing grandmas and was ready to kill Miki back then too.

Also FLY HIGH SPOKEN WORD SQUAD and MY KING OF SPOKEN WORD.

and Taro really was bestboi led astray.

My pain level is astronomical might as well be numb. 10/10 probably won’t watch again unless I need a good cry and psychological trauma. But it was really good all in all.

Context: After the SPNUK 2018 J2M panel question about eyefucking being a stage direction in scripts between Dean and Cas, several factions began engaging in discussions and arguments about the intent behind the spn writers’ word choice. In response to this, on May 8th 2018, pasladeuxieme tweeted out a series of tweets and screenshots from 8x02′s yellow pages to show where they remembered seeing the use of “eye-fuck” in the script as shorthand for an intense stare for the brothers, Sam and Dean.

LOSER LIKE ME, aka jordan joins the new directions

so essentially this is mostly for fun but also a reference point for my glee au that I only write with like 3 people in but I’m pretty much married to at this point. I’ve organized the majority of this playlist in order of what jordan tackles in the glee club for the weekly assignments + the in-between numbers she folds into her repertoire for fun / for assignments that we never saw in the show but could easily exist.

SEASON 2

episode 1, audition: mustang sally, wilson pickett

I know roderick auditions with the same song in season 6 but here at traumantic productions I do whatever I want and I want jordan to pull off an unexpected audition song that secures her place among the underdogs within new directions, thank you.

episode 2, britney/brittany: what u see (is what u get), britney spears

it’s one of jordan’s favorite britney songs and speaks to how she’s determined to stay true to who she is no matter what peoples’ perceptions of her is (even though she’s still young and finding herself)

episode 4, duets: you really got me, the kinks/cherry bomb, the runaways

pre-determined mash-up for the breadstix dinner for two duet competition with @nostlgic‘s john bender; it’s like pulling teeth at first but eventually the two end up seeing eye to eye and pull off a performance with jordan rocking the electric guitar and channeling her inner joan jett; they don’t win but they do a damn good job regardless.

episode 7, the substitute: crushcrushcrush, paramore

holly holiday said the glee kids can do whatever the hell they want and jordan wants to do more pop punk. also, any excuse to bust out the guitar is a good one.

episode 8, furt: stand by me, ben e. king

one of jordan’s favorite love songs and one she pulls out for carol and burt’s wedding.

episode 12, silly love songs: take a chance on me, abba

jordan (and this totally isn’t me projecting) really wanted to tackle abba for the “sing love songs for valentine’s week” assignment, so what?

episode 15, sexy: froot, marina and the diamonds

I know this song came out in 2015 and the episode aired in 2011 but this would be the least terrible infraction the show has ever had with continuity, also it’s a banger of a song, also I already know the staging goes from jordan starting out singing in the choir room for the assignment and by the chorus shifts to her singing in the auditorium in full old hollywood glam, as it should be. I’m a genius, thank you.

episode 17, a night of neglect: kiss me fool, fefe dobson

I fell down a rabbit hole of music I listened to in middle school and fefe dobson is severely underappreciated and neglected as an artist, and kiss me fool is the perfect combo of soulful and rock that captures jordan’s taste in music. she’ll shred through the hecklers..... until sue unplugs her amp/the mic/something to that effect.

episode 19, rumours: the chain, fleetwood mac

I picked a song off the album that wasn’t covered in the episode since it has to be rumors-specific but hey...... this actually works really well.

episode 20, prom queen: i want you to want me, letters from cleo; DONTTRUSTME, 3OH!3

jordan performs two songs (possibly more) for the prom; i want you to want me is a duet with @nostlgic‘s john bender once again, and she pulls out DONTTRUSTME because it’s a great party song.

SEASON 3

episode 1, the purple piano project: trouble, p!nk

jordan wanted to do more p!nk and figured this would be a good recruitment song for the glee club, to showcase the different music they do

episode 3, asian f: fame, irene cara

her audition song for the musical; she’s going for anita and rightfully gets stomped out of the running by santana (I will never stop simping for santana) but she enjoys being one of the shark girls all the same.

episode 7, i kissed a girl: nineteen, tegan and sara

it’s the gayest song I could think of that would be in jordan’s wheelhouse. I’m doing this for the lesbians.

episode 10, yes/no: your song, elton john

I know ryder covers this later but once again I do not care. it’s another favorite love song of jordan’s and one she would present to mr. schue for his proposal to emma.

episode 11, michael: the way you make me feel, michael jackson

michael jackson tribute week? she’s bringing the energy, the vocals, and the dance moves, as she should. also she’s ready to kill sebastian but that’s beside the point.

episode 12, the spanish teacher: como la flor, selena

yes I am biased but also how the fuck can you do a week dedicated to latin artists and not cover the queen of tejano? enter: jordan. everyone say thank you.

episode 13, heart: fall to pieces, avril lavigne

love song themed episodes = more favorite love songs from jordan, this one being a more alternative/pop punk one. who doesn’t love old school avril?

episode 16, saturday night glee-ver: she works hard for the money, donna summer

this isn’t on the saturday night fever album but donna summer is the queen of disco in jordan’s opinion and she, like me, does what she wants.

episode 19, prom-asaurus: heart of glass, blondie; tell it to my heart, taylor dayne

I might change this/add more but jordan went through an 80s mood that month and just felt like the two above would be solid for prom (and she’s right!).

episode 22, goodbye: don’t you (forget about me), the simple minds

yes this was covered in later seasons but I do not care it’s iconic and she’s gonna sing this to the seniors come hell or high water.

SEASON 4

episode 2, britney 2.0: what it’s like to be me, britney spears

another empowering britney song for britney week, take two. pretty much same deal as before.

episode 7, dynamic duets: SOS, ABBA; you don’t mess around with jim, jim cocre

this episode was superhero themed with the duets and I think both songs fit the theme and are also in jordan’s reach; she probably picks ABBA but that could change.

episode 11, sadie hawkins: still into you, paramore

once again this is specific to @nostlgic‘s john bender but in general...... such a good love song. I guarantee you if you sing this at your crush they will instantly fall in love with you.

episode 12, naked: maneater, nelly furtado

truthfully I can’t remember why I thought this would fit into the episode theme but once again, I do what I want and so does jordan.

episode 13, diva: if i could turn back time, cher

I realize that the network probably couldn’t afford the royalties to cover cher’s music but is that gonna stop me from proclaiming that jordan does exactly that during diva week? of course not.

episode 14, i do: everywhere, michelle branch

this doesn’t fit the rest of the episode so this is probably gonna change but hey, michelle branch is underrated and I’m doing everyone a favor here.

episode 16, feud: 1, 2 step, ciara ft. missy elliot/disturbia, rihanna

ciara and rihanna had a very brief feud that mostly happened on twitter and was resolved with little drama but since the episode is about doing music/mashups incorporating two artists with beef, this works. and it’ll fucking slap.

episode 17, guilty pleasures: before he cheats, carrie underwood

did you know jordan actually really loves country music? well, now you do.

episode 19, sweet dreams: sweet dreams, eurythmics

the assignment was about dreams and jordan decided to slack off that week with the music. she still pulls it off. will schuester is probably still a dick.

episode 20, lights out: edge of seventeen, stevie nicks

power goes out at mckinley and the glee club is challenged to perform music stripped down and acoustic; could you imagine how hard an acoustic version of edge of seventeen would be? you’re welcome.

episode 21, wonder-ful: sir duke, stevie wonder

it’s a stevie wonder tribute episode and you best believe jordan’s doing his best (my opinion) song

SEASON 5

episode 1, love, love, love: it won’t be long, the beatles

beatles tribute episode 1/2; it’s a song they didn’t cover and one she could handle. also it’s just a good song.

episode 2, tina in the sky with diamonds: can’t buy me love, the beatles

same as above, performed at prom, most likely with help from fellow glee-clubbers. she might even don a suit for the performance. she’s absolutely playing guitar.

episode 7, puppet master: since u been gone, kelly clarkson

from what I remember, the glee club is just going through ideas of what they could do for a setlist for their next competition and jordan would prepare this banger for consideration

episode 9, frienemies: cruel summer, bananarama

I honestly can’t remember this episode beyond the rachel/santana stuff but it’s a good song, let her do it

episode 10, trio: follow me, uncle kracker

the aforementioned song was such a good cover in glee and one of the new directions performances jordan would absolutely want to revisit.

episode 14, new new york: dancing in the street, martha reeves & the vandellas

I just think this number would be fun to see with jordan exploring the city with her friends in NYC and with literal dancing in the street (because that totally happens in new york without motorists getting pissed)

Lisa Lopes

Lisa Nicole Lopes (May 27, 1971 – April 25, 2002), better known by her stage name Left Eye, was an American rapper, singer, music producer, and dancer. Lopes was a member of the R&B girl group TLC, alongside Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Besides rapping and singing background vocals on TLC recordings, Lopes was one of the creative forces behind the group. She received more co-writing credits than the other members. She also designed the outfits and staging for the group and contributed to the group's image, album titles, artworks, and music videos. Through her work with TLC, Lopes won four Grammy Awards.

During her brief solo career, Lopes scored two US top 10 singles with "Not Tonight" and "U Know What's Up", as well as one UK number-one single with "Never Be the Same Again", the latter a collaboration with Melanie C of the British girl group Spice Girls. She also produced another girl group, Blaque, who scored a platinum album and two US top 10 hits. Lopes remains the only member of TLC to have released a solo album.

On April 25, 2002, Lopes was killed in a car crash while organizing charity work in Honduras. She swerved off the road to avoid hitting another vehicle, and was thrown from her car. She was working on a documentary at the time of her death, which was released as The Last Days of Left Eye and aired on VH1 in May 2007.

Life and career

1971–1990: Childhood

Lopes was born in 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Wanda Denise (née Andino), a seamstress, and Ronald Lopes Sr., a US Army staff sergeant, who was of African-American descent. Lisa had a younger brother, Ronald Jr., and a younger sister, Raina Anitra (her nickname goes by Reigndrop). Lopes said her father was "very strict, very domineering" and that he treated the family like they were in "boot camp". He was also a "talented musician" who played the harmonica, clarinet, piano, and saxophone.

Lopes' parents separated when she was still in school, and she was raised by her paternal grandmother during the later years of her childhood. She began playing with a toy keyboard at 5 years old, and later composed her own songs. By age 10, she formed the musical trio The Lopes Kids with her siblings, with whom she sang gospel songs at local events and churches. She attended the Philadelphia High School for Girls.

1990–1998: TLC

In late 1990, having heard of an open casting call for a new girl group through her then-boyfriend, Lopes moved to Atlanta to audition. Originally starting as a female trio called 2nd Nature, the group was renamed TLC, derived from the first initials of its members at the time: Tionne Watkins, Lisa Lopes and Crystal Jones. Things did not work out with Jones, and TLC's manager Perri "Pebbles" Reid brought in Damian Dame backup dancer Rozonda Thomas as a third member of the group. To preserve the band's original name, Thomas needed a name starting with C, which is how she became "Chilli," a name chosen by Lopes. Watkins became T-Boz, derived from the first letter of her first name and "Boz" (slang for "boss"). Lopes was renamed "Left Eye" after a compliment from New Edition member Michael Bivins who once told her he was attracted to her because of her left eye, which was more slanted than the right eye. Lopes emphasized her nickname by wearing a pair of glasses with the right lens covered by a condom, in keeping with the group's support of safe sex, wearing a black stripe under her left eye, and eventually getting her left eyebrow pierced.

The group arrived on the music scene in 1992 with the album Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip. With four hit singles, it sold six million copies worldwide, leading to the group becoming a household name. Two years later CrazySexyCool was released, selling over 23 million copies worldwide. TLC's third album, FanMail, was released in 1999 and sold over 14 million copies worldwide. Its title was a tribute to TLC's loyal fans and the sleeve contained the names of hundreds of them as a "thank you".

During the recording of FanMail, a public conflict began amongst the members of the group. In the May 1999 issue of Vibemagazine, Lopes said, "I've graduated from this era. I cannot stand 100 percent behind this TLC project and the music that is supposed to represent me." In response to Lopes' comments, Watkins and Thomas stated to Entertainment Weekly that Lopes "doesn't respect the whole group" and "Left Eye is only concerned with Left Eye." In response, Lopes sent a reply through Entertainment Weekly issuing a "challenge" to Watkins and Thomas to release solo albums and let the public decide who was the "greatest" member of TLC:

I challenge Tionne Watkins (T-Boz) and Rozonda Thomas (Chilli) to an album entitled "The Challenge"... a 3-CD set that contains three solo albums. Each [album]... will be due to the record label by October 1, 2000... I also challenge Dallas 'The Manipulator' Austin to produce all of the material and do it at a fraction of his normal rate. As I think about it, I'm sure LaFace would not mind throwing in a $1.5 million prize for the winner.

T-Boz and Chilli declined to take up the challenge, though Lopes always maintained it was a great idea. Things were heated between the ladies for some time, with Thomas speaking out against Lopes, calling her antics "selfish", "evil", and "heartless". TLC then addressed these struggles by saying that they are very much like sisters who have their disagreements every now and then as Lopes explained, "It's deeper than a working relationship. We have feelings for each other, which is why we get so mad at each other. I usually say that you cannot hate someone unless you love them. So, we love each other. That's the problem."

1998–2002: Solo career

In 1998, Lopes hosted the short-lived MTV series, The Cut, in which a list of aspiring pop stars, rappers, and rock bands competed against each other in front of judges. The show's winner, which ended up being a male-female rap duo named Silky, was promised a record deal and funding to produce a music video, which would then enter MTV's heavy rotation. A then-unknown Anastacia finished in third place, but ended up securing a record deal after Lopes and the show's three judges were impressed by her performance.

After the release of FanMail, Lopes began to expand her solo career. She became a featured rapper on several singles, including Spice Girl Melanie C's "Never Be the Same Again", which topped the charts in 35 countries, including the United Kingdom. She was also featured on "U Know What's Up", the first single from Donell Jones' second album, Where I Wanna Be, and she rapped a verse in "Space Cowboy" with NSYNC on their 2000 album, No Strings Attached. On October 4, 2000, Lopes co-hosted the UK's MOBO Awards with Trevor Nelson, where she also performed "U Know What's Up" with Jones. She also collaborated on "Gimme Some" by Toni Braxton for her 2000 album The Heat. She had previously featured on Keith Sweat's song "How Do You Like It?". In 2001, she appeared in a commercial for the fashion brand Gap. In July 2001, Lopes appeared on the singers' edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire along with Joey McIntyre, Tyrese, Nick Lachey, and Lee Ann Womack. She dropped the $125,000 question and won $32,000 for her charity. After her death in 2002, the episode she appeared in was shown and was dedicated to her.

Lopes created Left Eye Productions to discover new talent. She mentored the R&B trio Blaque, and helped them secure a record deal with Columbia Records. Their self-titled debut album was executive-produced by Lopes, who also made a cameo appearance in their music video "808" and also rapped in their second music video "I Do". Lopes was also developing and promoting another new band called Egypt. They worked with Lopes on her second album under her new nickname, N.I.N.A., meaning New Identity Not Applicable.

In 1996, Lopes created the UNI Studios for the purpose of recording solo projects. Lopes' family opened the studio to the public. Her brother Ronald is the general manager of the studio. Lopes had a dream of making new artists able to record music at a low cost, in a high-end studio at her house. Her family continues to operate it and fill it with new equipment.

Supernova

Lopes spent much of her free time after the conclusion of TLC's first headlining tour, the FanMail Tour, recording her debut solo album, Supernova. It includes a song titled "A New Star is Born", which is dedicated to her late father. She told MTV News:

That track is dedicated to all those that have loved ones that have passed away. It's saying that there is no such thing as death. We can call it transforming for a lack of better words, but as scientists would say, 'Every atom that was once a star is now in you.' It's in your body. So, in the song I pretty much go along with that idea. ... I don't care what happens or what people think about death, it doesn't matter. We all share the same space.

Other tracks covered other personal issues, including her relationship with NFL football player Andre Rison. In 1994, before the start of Rison's fifth and final season with the Falcons, Lopes accidentally burned down Rison Atlanta mansion. Among the album's 13 tracks was also a posthumous duet with Tupac Shakur that was assembled from the large cache of unreleased recordings done prior to his murder in 1996. Initially scheduled for release on a date to coincide with the 11th anniversary of her grandfather's death, Arista Records decided to delay and then cancel the American release. The album was eventually released in August 2001 in different foreign countries. The Japan import includes a bonus track called "Friends", which would later be sampled for "Give It to Me While It's Hot" on TLC's fourth album 3D.

N.I.N.A.

After numerous talks with Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight, Lopes severed her solo deal with Arista (despite remaining signed to the label as a member of TLC) and signed with Knight's Death Row Records in January 2002, intending to record a second solo album under the pseudonym "N.I.N.A." (New Identity Not Applicable). She was recording with David Bowie for the project, whom she was also trying to get involved with the fourth TLC album. The project was also to include several songs recorded with Ray J along with close friend Missy Elliott. After Lopes' death in April 2002, Death Row Records still had plans to complete and release the album (unfinished at the time of Lopes' death) in October 2002, but the album was cancelled for unknown reasons. In 2011, some tracks from the album were uploaded onto YouTube featuring artists from Tha Row Records. Lopes's unreleased songs were also sampled by TLC for their fourth album 3Dafter she died. Another track, "Too Street 4 T.V" (featuring Danny Boy), was released on the soundtrack to the 2003 film Dysfunktional Family.

2008: Posthumous honorary album

In 2008, Lopes' family decided to work with producers at Surefire Music Group to create a posthumous album in her honor, Eye Legacy. Originally set to be released October 28, 2008, the release date was pushed back to November 11, then to January 27, 2009. The song 'Neva Will Eye Eva' and "Crank It", both feature and were co-produced by Lopes' sister Raina "Reigndrop" Lopes. The first official single from the album, "Let's Just Do It", was released on January 13, 2009 and features Missy Elliott and TLC. The second official single, "Block Party", features Lil Mama. The album largely consists of reworked versions of tracks from the Supernova album. In November 2009, Forever... The EP was released which contained international bonus tracks not used on the Eye Legacy album. The EP was only available to download. An unreleased track featuring Lopes was uploaded to SoundCloud on the eve of the 10-year anniversary of her death by Block Starz Music.

Personal life

Lopes was often vocal about her personal life and difficult past. She readily admitted that she had come from an abusive, alcoholic background and struggled with alcoholism herself. These issues became headline news in 1994, when she was arrested for setting fire to Andre Rison's sneakers in a bathtub, which ultimately spread to the mansion they shared and destroyed it. She claimed that Rison had beaten her after a night out, and she set fire to his shoes to get back at him but that burning down the house was an accident. Lopes later revealed that she did not have a lot of freedom within the relationship and that Rison abused her emotionally and physically; she said that she released her frustrations about the relationship on the night of the fire.

Lopes was sentenced to five years' probation and therapy at a halfway house, and was unable to shake the incident from her reputation. Her relationship with Rison continued to make headlines, with rumors of an imminent wedding, later debunked by People magazine. Lopes revealed on The Last Days of Left Eye documentary that her meeting with a struggling mother in rehab left a big impression on her. She subsequently adopted the woman's 8-year-old daughter. She had adopted a 12-year-old boy ten years prior.

Lopes had several tattoos. Most prominent was a large eagle on her left arm, which she said represented freedom. Later, she added the number "80" around the eagle, which was Rison's NFL number while in Atlanta. She also had a tattoo of a moon with a face on her foot in reference to Rison's nickname, "Bad Moon", Lopes later added the words "Love U 2" in the musical notes on her foot for Tupac Shakur. On her upper right arm was a large tattoo of the name "Parron" for her late step brother who died in a boating accident, arching over a large tattoo of a pierced heart. Her smallest tattoo was on her left earlobe and consisted of an arrow pointing to her left over the symbol of an eye, a reference to her nickname. Lopes struggled with self-harm and even carved the words "hate" and "love" into her arm with a razor.

Roughly two weeks before her own death, Lopes was a passenger in a traffic accident that resulted in the death of a 10-year-old Honduran boy. As reported in Philadelphia Weekly, "It is commonplace for people to walk the roads that wind through Honduras, and it's often difficult to see pedestrians." The boy, Bayron Isaul Fuentes Lopez, was following behind his brothers and sisters when he stepped off the median strip and was struck by a van driven by Stephanie, Lopes' personal assistant. Lopes' party stopped and loaded the boy into the car, and Lopes "cradled the dying boy's bleeding head in her arms" while "someone gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as they rushed him to a nearby hospital." He died the next day. Lopes paid approximately $3,700 for his medical expenses and funeral, and she gave the family around $925 for any extra costs, although it was apparently agreed upon by the authorities and the boy's family that his death was an "unforeseeable tragedy" and no blame was placed on the driver of the van or Lopes. In the documentary The Last Days of Left Eye, Lopes is shown choosing a casket for the child from a local funeral home. Earlier in the documentary, Lopes mentioned that she felt the presence of a "spirit" following her, and was struck by the fact that the child killed in the accident shared a similar last name, even thinking that the spirit may have made a mistake by taking his life instead of hers.

Death

On April 25, 2002, Lopes was driving a rented Mitsubishi Montero SUV in La Ceiba, Honduras, when she swerved slightly to avoid a truck (it is not clear if the truck was slow-moving or stationary) then immediately to the right as she tried to avoid an oncoming car. The vehicle rolled several times after hitting two trees, throwing Lopes and three others out of the windows, and finally coming to rest in a ditch at the side of the road. Lopes, at the age of 30, died instantly of "fracture of the base of the cranium" and "open cerebral trauma", and was the only person fatally injured in the accident. A cameraman in the front passenger seat was videotaping at the time, so the last seconds leading up to the swerve that resulted in the fatal accident were recorded on video. Victims of the accident were taken to Liverpool Royal Hospital. Her sister Reigndrop Lopes was in the vehicle and survived the collision.

Lopes' funeral was held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, on May 2, 2002. Thousands of people attended. Engraved upon her casket were the lyrics to her portion of "Waterfalls", stating "Dreams are hopeless aspirations, in hopes of coming true, believe in yourself, the rest is up to me and you." Gospel duo Mary Mary sang their song "Shackles (Praise You)" at the funeral. Lopes was buried at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia.

In a statement to MTV, producer Jermaine Dupri remembered Lopes: "She was determined to be something in life. She was a true rock star. She didn't care about no press. She was the rock star out of the group. She was the one that would curse on TV. She had the tattoos. You could expect the unexpected. When you see Lisa, you could expect something from her. That's the gift she carried."

Legacy

Lopes was in the process of setting up two educational centers for Honduran children. One was built on an 80-acre plot of land she called Camp YAC. The other center was called Creative Castle.

In 2003, shortly after Lopes' death, her family started the Lisa Lopes Foundation, a charitable group dedicated to providing neglected and abandoned youth with the resources necessary to increase their quality of life. Her spiritual motto was the one used for her foundation: "Energy never dies... it just transforms." Her foundation went into various underdeveloped villages and gave new clothes to poor children and their families. In August 2007, the foundation hosted a charity auction, selling items donated by celebrities. It raised approximately $5,000 for the Hogar de Amor ("Home of Love"), an orphanage in Honduras. In 2012, the foundation began hosting an annual music festival, known as "Left Eye Music Fest", in Decatur, Georgia.In the 2018 Boots Riley film Sorry to Bother You, members of a fictional activist group called "Left Eye" use as their symbol a stripe of eye black under the left eye, in an unmentioned reference to Lopes.

Posthumous documentary

A documentary showing the final 27 days of Lopes' life, titled The Last Days of Left Eye, premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival in April 2007, for an audience that included many of Lopes' contemporaries, including Monica, Ronnie DeVoe, 112, Big Boi, India.Arie, and Cee Lo Green. VH1 and VH1 Soul broadcast the documentary on May 19, 2007. Most of the footage was shot with a handheld camera, often in the form of diary entries filmed by Lopes while on a 30-day spiritual retreat in Honduras with sister Reigndrop, brother Ronald and members of the R&B group Egypt. In these entries, she reflected on her personal life and career. A calmer side of her personality was on display, showing interests in numerology and yoga. In January 2020, Lifetime aired an episode of Hopelessly In Love, a docuseries that captures the relationships of the rich and famous, about Lopes and Rison's tumultuous relationship. It showcased the complexity of their relationship and how she ended up with a felony arson charge for burning down Rison's Atlanta mansion.

ok wait I have one more rant abt American Dragon and I swear I’m done, but the whole concept of a ‘leader’ dragon for every country is very.... strange to me

like ok, suspension of disbelief for vague hand-wavey magic, or the existence of magical creatures, etc. fine fine. but the whole PREMISE of the show is built around the concept of an American Dragon-- yet that concept is so incredibly, frustratingly vague. like I said in my original review, I’m willing to excuse a lot for a simple kid’s show that isn’t looking to worldbuild super deeply, but the main premise at the VERY least should have SOME planning behind it

for one, the physical size and population distribution of each country varies WILDLY across the globe, it’s honestly stupid to assign the same number of ‘leader’ dragons (one) to each, and expect each dragon to serve their respective country to the same degree of competence. the US is a fuckin MASSIVE country w/ two states disconnected from the mainland, and SEVERAL different biomes that have contributed to diverse sets of populations (which would likely be reflected among magical creatures as well, culturally and biologically-speaking). it’s ridiculous to expect ONE dragon to serve, represent, and protect ALL those populations

and the thing is, Jake DOESN’T do that! he’s a New York Dragon at best. the only times I remember him helping out w/ magical emergencies out-of-state are when he’s traveling for personal reasons (like visiting family) or when he’s tending to dragon council business, in which case most dragons across the world are gathering there too (not to mention these instances are generally out-of-country)

having a ‘leader’ dragon assigned to a bio/cultural region without even bothering with human borders would make FAR more sense (esp since the dragons don’t even wanna bother w/ the human world anyways, so why are they assigning things based on human constructs??). hell, there could even still be dragons representing larger areas too, so long as it was established that they’re the more broad-scope representatives that must regularly convene with the dragon representatives of the smaller regions under their jurisdiction. this would assure that each dragon is truly an intimate member of the communities they’re assigned to, rather than some outsider intruding on important matters that they simply can’t understand w/o cultural context. this especially makes sense if we assume that dragon forms are magical/psychological projections of the cultural society that a given dragon is raised in, rather than a *strictly* biological body whose traits are genetically inherited (tho like I said in my main review, I’m rly doubtful of that actually being canon to the show...)

now, it would admittedly be p cool if the show took the time to pull Jake across the nation to explore different cultural/ecological regions and the magical creatures within. but that’s expecting a lot from a show that only establishes that Jake is part-Chinese on the most shallow of levels, and fails to explore Chinese culture in any intimate manner beyond ONE(1) episode about the Chinese new year. like, the bar is on the ground, here

and even if some attention had been paid to America’s diverse cultural settings, I’d still be skeptical of Jake being able to handle the whole nation on his own. hell, I’m skeptical of an ADULT dragon being able to handle a nation as huge as the US, much less a tween handling the whole thing. I already take huge issue w/ kid’s shows framing dangerous, mature situations as “normal” responsibilities for children to encounter and just “get over”, as if they’re as commonplace and simple as like, studying for class. so every time Jake is reprimanded for not managing his time properly when he’s running on 10 min of sleep after facing off against angry trolls, or trying to take some free time for himself when he’s missed out on every other chance at a normal middle school milestone, I genuinely seethe w/ rage

at least w/ most other kid’s shows there’s some explanation I can accept for the main character having to go through that kinda stress. like w/ Danny Phantom, Danny unfortunately goes thru a freak accident, and he can’t tell his ghost-hunting parents abt it for fear that they might tear him apart for science or misguided protection, and he decides on his own that he has some responsibility to use his powers for active good (tho DP still pulls the “ghost-fighting is just like balancing school and a social life!” bullshit that I HATE..). or w/ Steven Universe, all this responsibility was thrust on Steven by adults who didn’t understand the consequences of their actions or had no other choice, and Steven’s currently dealing w/ the massive emotional fallout of having his childhood stolen from him

but with American Dragon, like... this shit is PLANNED. the council carefully CHOOSES the dragon for each nation-- these adults have a RESPONSIBILITY to both a whole WORLD of magical creatures AND their dragon subordinates to choose capable, mature dragons to lead the magical world. and for some reason they decide that this responsibility should fall on the shoulders of LITERAL CHILDREN?? who was the previous American Dragon? where the hell are they now? (Neopuff pointed out to me that Jake is in fact the first AD, which is even even more suspect than before! what!!) even if Jake is chosen to be a potential future AD, why does he have to take on that full responsibility now?? why isn’t a seasoned adult taking care of the bulk of responsibilities until Jake grows up??? like I get that children’s power fantasies hit different when ur an adult b/c u can recognize what responsibilities a child shouldn’t have to deal with-- I GET that it’s good to let children explore mature responsibilities in fiction, I’m not arguing that. but these responsibilities should at LEAST make sense in-context, and NO adult should have knowingly thrust these duties on literal children w/o some DAMN good explanation for why they literally CAN’T assign dragon duties to adults. not to mention that the whole, “you’re selfish and need to learn better time management skills,” thing is such an insidious message to direct at kids who should literally only be expected to... be kids? I’m SO fucking mad abt this!!!

and don’t even get me STARTED on the fact that Jake is being trained by the Chinese Dragon, and Haley by the Korean Dragon. like, again, the show establishes that there’s only one ‘leader’ dragon for every nation, and that Lao Shi and Sun are the current dragons of their respective countries-- they haven’t resigned, as far as we know. so like, what happened to China and Korea (and now that I think abt it, which Korea??)? they just don’t have dragon protectors? fuck them, I guess, they’re on their own now? b/c training American dragons is so much more important than protecting their own countries? b/c a Chinese and Korean dragon somehow have better knowledge of American magical communities than the dragons that have actually been living there and presumably been serving those communities for decades (and b/c every Asian country is apparently interchangeable, so a Korean dragon is obviously perfectly fit to understand the cultural background of part-Chinese dragons)? hello???

now I AM at least willing to consider that perhaps the dragon council runs on enough shallow bureaucracy that their predecessors just arbitrarily decided to assign a single, young dragon to each country, and the current council is too stubborn to change that tradition even in the face of its clear problems. like, actual real-life political systems are absolutely fucked, so it tracks that a fantasy political system could be similarly broken. this doesn’t explain all the fuckshit, but it might at least explain some of the fuckshit. BUT none of these problems are ever brought up in the show, so we have to assume that they are somehow, canonically......... not actually problems..... ugh.............

and none of this even BEGINS to tackle the weird dragon monarchy over all magical-kind. like this obviously isn’t exclusive to AD, u see this sorta bloodline-bound authority thing in a LOT of western fantasy media. but the fact that the dragon council seems so utterly incompetent when u pick apart all the above issues, I’m just sitting here like... how have the trolls/elves/merfolk/etc. not guillotined y’all yet? lmfao
