This has been in my mind. hear me out, dmc guys x reader like shinobu from demon slayer and is the primary doctor of group.

the reader is weak and shorter so fighting is really challenging but their knowledge of medicine and poisons make up for that. theyre primarily a healer but despite their weakness they still fight just with their own little twist. theyre also calm and patient but will hold silent grudges and will rage in private. if you look close enough you can see the tiny string holding up their patience and sanity.

reader probably did a lot of experiments to see what poisons would work on demons and what wouldnt. reader still tries new things till this day but its really dangerous and often times they get too caught up in their experiments that they almost get killed or severely injured.

maybe the reader uses a special weapon made by nico. its a hand gun with special bullet infused with poison. or a light melee weapon thats coated i poison just like shinobu's sword.

they can be really caring and gentle while treating patients but will sometimes think:

“how the hell do you even get into this much trouble what kind of tomfoolery is this?”

same energy as “MY STUDENTS ARE ALL MORONS”

but at the end of the day they still care for everyone

-He's only a little worried about your opposite capabilities, because while you are intelligent and talented, you're not the best when it comes to combat.

-At least your poisons and sword make things easier; Nero only wishes you didn't have to go out into the woods to test them so often.

-He knows you'll get mad if he tries to come along, so he does the honorable thing and stalks you. This leads to some unexpected rescues when times are bleak.

-However, though you are often a gentle lady, there are times when your sweetness just snaps clean in half.

-Nero isn't all that concerned about your explosive temper, because he has one too, and just resigns to the corner while you rage on.

-V loves that you're such a talented and creative doctor.

-He could really use a healer in his life since he isn't doing all that well physically, and having someone to patch him up or at least look him over would be a blessing.

-He insists on going with you to test your poisons, and even if you try to refuse, he will tag along anyway.

-You are a skilled fighter with your special sword and tons of poisons, but sometimes all the beasts are too much for you, and you fall injured. It is then V's responsibility to nurse you back to health as best he can.

valerie was a smart girl but her rage and grudge often clouded her judgment. she knew phantom was doing so much help to humans but she still held a grudge since hes the one who ruined her dad's career and her life. after learning he was after the mayor she decided she was gonna do anything to capture phantom.

but everything changed when she saw him risking everything he had to save the little half ghost girl. he even risked his own life. valerie hated ghosts but she was not a monster. she could never hurt a human even if theyre half human. so she helped him save the little girl. maybe phantom wasnt too bad.

after they rescued the little girl and the mayor from that evil ghost plasmius both phantom and ghost girl went away. valerie was on her way before realizing she didnt check on the mayor and she went back to the lab.

she saw the mayor he was smiling like a crazy man. then she saw glowing rings on his waist. then he transformed..

no no no no.

there was no way that was possible. mayor masters tranformed into plasmius. was she helping him the whole time? the stories about phantom being evil and attacking the mayor, they were all lies. valerie felt betrayed, she felt stupid. the whole time she was being tricked into thinking phantom was the enemy while the real enemy was manipulating her.

maybe she was wrong. wrong about not hurting a human. all she felt was rage. she took a deep breath. she saw what plasmius could do if she attack him now there was no way she could win. she tried her best not to be impulsive as she left the lab.

that day she learnt so much. there were half ghosts some were evil and some were just trying to survive. she was so wrong about a lot of things. she always thought ghosts were all evil but now she sees theyre just like people and phantom was one of the good ones.

"shit" she said as she let herself fall to her bed. the she started to think if whether phantom was also a half ghost. he did look like he knew the little girl in her both forms.

next day in school everything was the same. between classes star walked with her.

"girl are you okay? you seem really tired." star asked worried. she was right valerie was looking like he hasnt slept like ages. it was partially right she couldnt get much sleep from overthinking.

"yeah i am, just have something on my mind. dont worry." she smiled reassuring star that she was telling the truth. but it wasnt really convincing for star.

"i dont want to push you but i hope you know that im here for you val." star gave a small smile.

when the bell rang they went to their classes. valerie was happy to have a friend like star. she might be the only reason why she was still sane. she wished that she could talk about ghost stuffs with her.

in the class valerie noticed danny looking tired more than usual. after class valerie wanted to ask danny if he was alright but right as she was approaching him a ghost attacked the school. valerie saw danny ran for the janitor closet. 'thats by far one of the worst place you could hide' valerie thought. she had to save him before something happened but first she had to become red huntress. before she could do anything she saw phantom flying towards the ghost attacker.

'huh' she thought. phantom was pretty early which gave her some time to get danny out of that terrible 'hiding space'. she opened the janitor closet only to find nothing. danny wasnt there.

valerie started to panic. where could he be? what if something happened to him? valerie was finally gaining friends that was really her friends and not some jock who drops her the moment shes not rich. she was not gonna lose her friends because of some lousy ghost. she found a place to transform into red huntress and searched the whole building but there was no trace of him.

it was only when the attack was done and phantom souped the ghost she could see danny again. she took her suit off somewhere safe and rushed to danny.

"danny where were you?" she asked worry apperant in her voice. danny was taken aback a little.

"i was hiding from the ghost." he said. that was a lie, she knew it but danny said it way too calmly.

"in the janitor closet?" valerie asked not believing the boy.

"yeah it was the closest place i could hide." he said absentmindedly. if valerie didnt check the janitor closet herself she might have believed him which irritated her more than anything. she sighed in an attempt to calm herself down or at least to seem calm.

"im glad youre safe." she left them without they get to say anything more. she had to think to make things make sense.

danny lied to her. which was annoying but all valerie could think was how natural he sounded. danny couldnt lie to save his life, she would know. when he doesnt have his homework he couldnt make up a single lie nor can he tell them without looking like hes gonna shit himself. no, danny fenton was a lot of things but being a good liar was not one of them. it only indicates that he told that lie before so many time. it was a practiced lie.

but why? why would he lie about a hiding place? what was he hiding from valerie? where did he go when he was not in the closet? and more importantly how did he go elsewhere?

valerie was sure she did not look at somewhere long enough and far enough for her to not to notice danny leaving the closet. if there wasnt a secret passage in the closet or danny didnt suddenly gain ghost powers it would be impossible for danny to go out without valerie seeing him.

no no it was stupid, there was no way.

there was no way that danny out of all people was a half ghost. everyone knew he always hid away the first when there was a ghost attack because he was scared and danny only knew ghost stuff because his parents were ghost hunters. no other reasons. it was just a coincidence that he looked like that half ghost girl. or that he was always close to the places that attacks happen. or that he only comes out when the attack is fully done. or that phantom uses a thermos that looks exactly like his thermos thats written 'fenton' on it.

Im not sure if we'll get a proper, immersive flashback in-text for the initial confrontation scene when Grian was found out-- most likely we'll continue to get references to it both in the narration and dialogue between characters, although i wont rule the idea of a fully fleshed flashback scene out!!! That being said, the confrontation of Grian being responsible for the games is something that id love to explore in a separate oneshot :] there are several of those that i want to write for hunger au alongside the main fic, and that one has actually been among the first few on the list since i thought of it!! So you'll see more of that situation eventually, regardless of if its in a oneshot or the greater text :]]

As for flower husbands, theyre exes in hunger au, although they still talk to each other and are amicable. This is actually referenced in a transcript ficlet i wrote here on tumblr (that i should probably post to ao3 for the sake of keeping everything together...), which you can find here! I dont plan on this coming up overmuch in the main fic, but it is an element that adds an additional layer of complexity to why Scott has been helping the rescue crew. god I love hunter so much

their campaign has so much value artistically and the dialogue sticks with me to this day and resonates with me on such a deep level

especially "I wish I could say I will always remember it."

Hunter to me is just peak RW (minus farm arrays but thats a VERY small part) and I love them so much forever

theyre a comfort character to me and I love headcanons of them being chronically ill because it's something I struggle with too

and I love fanart of hunter and moon because.

yknow. projection and kinning and all that but also because both of them are trying so, so hard to live and do their best in spite of their circumstances

I strive to achieve that level of kindness, hope, optimism, and altruism

I want to give hunter a hug and let them know they're gonna be okay. To me hunter's never really given the impression of being violent; to me hunter seems tired and is forced to fight due to the circumstances around them. Of course, hunter doesn't have much of a personality to go off of since that's determined by the player's actions and the player's idea, but I like my hunter to just want to be happy and have some peace. I like to think they found that peace when they were able to reach ascension in spite of their circumstances... god ily hunter

but I also like having an AU where NSH rescues hunter and tries to fix them, which means consistent and frequent medical procedures and care and a chronic illness or uh. disability of some sort... pretty much purely for my own self-comfort but also because of the off chance it might reach someone else who has similar struggles and could feel that same joy i do seeing my favorite characters go through a similar experience and be okay and still valued and loved

Zepline was their name, and they were retired about two years ago due to old age and a dislike of the traffic Dotaku was gaining, they were unhappy with the attention so I decided it was time to free them, or near enough.

Their hostility was too high for the island, they were picking fights and even I was getting a little tired breaking up scraps. So we partnered with another rescue centre to pick out an isolated island where they could be released and freed to live away from people.

I check in from time to time to see if theyre helthy and need anything, no one else can get too close to them so i head over for the saftey of it, that big critter wont attack me, but lashes out at rangers who patrol the area. Theyre happy, healthy, and living a good life, Val translates, theyve made friends, a couple of fearow who think theyre a big bird like them, and have accepted them into their flock.

We dont actually have any other Aerodactyle on the island anymore, they were the only one, but fascinating pokemon thats for sure!

artemisia septim, bastard princess of uriel conceived around the time just before jagar tharn ended up imprisoning uriel in a pocked dimension of oblivion (events of arena). uriel didn't really want her, but given she wasn't born to a random maid, he agreed to raise her but she's pretty much locked up in her wing of the imperial palace with only a nanny and tutors. she never knew her mother, just that she was a noblewoman who agreed to stay silent if he took responsibility.

after jagar tharn was defeated uriel vii focused more efforts on legitimate heirs and clearing out any potential spies. her nanny is killed on suspicion of being a spy who aided jagar tharn along with several of her maids. artemisia is only 11-12. she begins to hate him.

because she's an elf she's still young by the events of morrowind, at least as far as elves age. it makes her feel even more alienated in the imperial palace. she only ever speaks to her siblings and father in formal settings, otherwise they rarely acknowledge her. she studies magic but she knows uriel vii is a very. paranoid person for a good chunk of her life following his imprisonment. time breaking after the warp in the west probably did not help anyone. elves as i write them age normally until around the 20's after which it DRAMATICALLY slows down, but everyone expects her to be a fully mature woman who's nearly 40 (maybe she's younger idk i might set her story a few years before the official game. or maybe later. we'll see) bc theyre all imperials. she's like. baby to most elves though.

she's sent on a diplomatic mission to morrowind for politics. she's just excited to fucking leave the imperial city and GO SOMEWHERE. she finds the palace stiffing and filled with horrible memories. she wants to see something new, and she always read about morrowind. to her its a dream come true to finally get to see it in person and she's so excited she can hardly sleep.

of course. uriel sent her to morrowind because he knew the political tensions there were too high to send one of his legitimate heirs. he's hoping she doesn't die but also he needs an ambassador and wants to make a good impression. if she is attacked and killed though he intends to use it to put morrowind more heavily under his thumb. he also, given he has some prophetic abilities, has a good feeling about sending her there.

she's super excited at first even though things are. tense. they were told uriel had a dunmer daughter but she doesn't look like a dunmer at all. even being half. they've seen half-imperial half-dunmer children and she doesn't look like a dunmer even remotely. she has pointed ears but her skin has a golden hue and her hair is stark white and her eyes are red. she explains she was born with a condition that lead to only patches of grey skin that faded as she got older but that her mother was definitely a dunmer. they question if she actually had an affair with an altmer and not the emperor behind her back but in a way she can still hear, but dismiss it as the empire playing tricks on them to make them look stupid. she isn't half dunmer. the emperor must think theyre stupid and is passing off his altmer born bastard as a dark elf like they can't tell she doesn't have grey skin. (nerevar was rly coming through on this one. azura had to much fun in the create a sim i think)

however some sixth house members strike. orvas dren tipped them off that a septim would be coming for a diplomacy meeting and their plan was to kidnap her, hold her hostage, make her a dreamer, and then send her back to the imperial palace with plenty of ash statues.

caius ends up rescuing her and taking her back to hide in his house. she's freaking out bc what the fuck there's a freaky ass cult in morrowind?????????? were they gonna kill her?????? did the emperor know????????? and now she's stranded in the country until caius can figure out a way to smuggle her out without someone knowing but he suspects there might be sixth house infiltrators in nobility who would catch them. they can't risk him just plopping her in a boat while they also hide in wait there and caius in good conscious can't let her die when uriel tasked him with protecting her by any means. so instead he gives her a slight haircut, some commoner clothing, and tells her they're gonna give her a fake identity

she's like. "great im stuck in a fucking skooma den on this fucked up island and theres ash storms here and weird cultists and im miserable and i almost died and--"

"here's 200 gold, buy some other gear, say you're a half altmer mage coming here to study, join the mages guild and try not to get yourself killed. i have a few contacts in the guild i told to keep an eye out for you and keep you safe. do NOT do anything reckless. do you understand."

This is embarrassing to admit but I kinda resent Fontaine coming out cause now I feel like people will move on from Sumeru and the characters, even though I'm still very much attached. That's dumb and petty I know but thats how I feel.

fontaine is fun and nice (environment) but with the main story im pretty slow. its not like im not interested but i feel that i need to be in a certain mood to be able to play so i can give it a proper chance. i just dont feel like im ready to fully move on from sumeru ahxksjx im also too attached to it and all of its cast to let go (not that i will tbh) just thinking about leaving them behind makes me go AAAAAAAA even tho it prob sounds silly (thats why i bring them with me at least. i main haitham but theres still slots left to fit some of the others in, no idc they dont work well together. he solos in worst case AHHAH)

fontaine is here and i still think about sumeru sm!!! meeting nahida, watching nilous dance, meeting haitham for the first time and wishing it was me he just elbowed in the head, cyno haitham and dehya banding together to rescue nahida with us, dottore and scara !!! haithams entire plan and him pretending to be corrupted, cynos appearance before azar, fighting scara for the first time---- i think about all this regularly and how awesome it was. the first three archon quests were nothing (sorry) to that and theres hope with how good sumeru was that the other chapters will be equally good so i wanna give them a chance even tho rn it feels to me that nothing can make it better for me than sumeru ajshshdj

(mostly bc this whole found family/ppl banding together to fight and becoming friends is smth i personally enjoy SO MUCH and sumeru got quite a lot of the meaning of family/bonds and stuff also bc i just love the entirety of sumeru cast (not counting dori tbh) and the environment and atmosphere itself. its the closest where im like wow i wish i lived here. going there always feels like coming home its weird to explain???)

also my tl and dash here is starting to get filled with neuvillette and wriothesley ship art and im like nooo get them out of my sight HAHAHA, im still here feeling weak in my knees over haikavetham and ppl all move on already, i cant even manage if i tried and wanted to sjdbjsgd 😭
