So on your post about Critical Role and TTRPG space you mentioned how Geek & Sundry was huge in 2015/6 and essentially nonexistent now and I was wondering if you knew/could explain why G&S feel so far in 6 years? Very much understand if you can't for any reason.
Ok, so. *deep breath*
Felicia Day created G&S in 2012. She sold it to Legendary Digital Network in 2014, but still retained creative control. Felicia Day leaves the company entirely in 2016. LDN changed hands in 2016 (not super important but kind of explains what happens next) and decide to launch their own streaming platform: "Alpha" in late 2016/early 2017. They had also bought Nerdist, and the plan was for Alpha to be a subscription streaming service for all content from G&S and Nerdist.
So. Alpha. Alpha had a lot of problems. And I mean...a lot. For one thing, G&S had as much of a presence if not moreso on YouTube than twitch, where all content was free to view (if with ads). Suddenly putting a lot of content behind a paywall that used to be essentially free did not sit well with a lot of the viewers. (Critical Role actually had a whole controversy around this themselves, because Talks Machina was originally supposed to be an "Alpha Exclusive," and people were very upset the talkback show would be behind a paywall. CR stepped in (because they still controlled the IP for their own show - an important factor I forgot to include in my last post! The foresight they had to do that!!) and Talks became a Twitch show instead. But the compromise is what led to Talks "After Dark" - the Alpha exclusive extra 15 minutes of content.)
Alpha had technical problems on top of that. People who paid for the stream/VODs frequently found them laggy or bugged in many ways (this wasn't my experience with Alpha, but I saw enough people posting about it to know it was widespread). So the general fandom wisdom was: don't pay for Alpha, it's not worth it. G&S, though, was increasingly putting all of its best content behind the Alpha paywall, because that was a way for LDN to increase profit. So great shows like "Sagas of Sundry: Madness" or "Painter's Guild" and "Relics and Rarities" weren't seen by nearly as many people or hyped up like they probably would have been if they were on twitch, because only Alpha users could watch.
In 2018, LDN started to massively scale back their digital content. I think they probably weren't seeing the profit they wanted to from the Alpha platform or Twitch. They started cutting costs at G&S and firing a lot of the mainstay creators. This is also when CR decided to go independent. This is the issue with larger corporate conglomerates entering the online space - they see it as a money draw, but don't realistically see how small the profits are in the context of what they're used to. In the end, the investment doesn't feel worth it for LDN and they pulled the plug. After CR left G&S in 2019, LDN basically folded the entire company. Most of the employees were let go. A lot of former G&S employees now work for CR, including Dani, their chief producer Max, Brittany Walloch-Key, and now Ivan Van Norman with Darrington Press and occasionally old G&S personalities like Erika Ishii.
So the tl;dr here is kind of "A corporation bought G&S and tried to maximize profit without understanding streaming or online marketing and platforming" but there's a lot to it.

The Short Lived Golden Age of Nerdy Web Shows
There was a time between the years of, let's say, 2007 to 2015 that I like to call the golden age of nerdy web shows. It consisted of a lot of small low to no budget productions that had a lot of heart, the kind you just don't see very often anymore for some reason. Many of these show have found a dedicated home on streaming services like The Fantasy Network, some have even gained enough steam to be featured on big name services like Netflix and Amazon like The Guild and LARPs The series respectively. I'm not exactly sure why the web show trend died out so hard, maybe the crowds just aren't there for them anymore like they use to be with some many pieces of high budget productions on streaming services vying for their attention. Every once and a while I'll jump onto Google to try and find new web shows that have that same heart and feel but rarely if ever do I come up with anything. As far as I can tell the only place new nerdy low to mid budget web shows or films gets any attention is at GenCon or small streaming services like The Fantasy Network. Who knows if there will ever be another nerdy heartfelt web show created that captures the spirit of those old series I hold so dear to my heart, but regardless if it happens or not I'd like to bring some attention to a few of my favorites. They may be old by the standards of the internet and maybe even cheesy by today's standards, but I really think they were something special and if you give them a shot maybe you'll think so too. If you have any others that you think would fit in with shows like this feel free to let me know.
The Gamers: Hands Of Fate
Zombie Orpheus Entertainment use to be one of my favorite channels for nerdy fantasy related content back in the day. You could always see the quality and passion that they put into every piece of content they out out on their channel. They're still around today but they've shifted their focus to other ventures such as the ever popular trend of live streaming table top games rather then making scripted content. That being said their old stuff is still well worth a watch and The Gamers series, particularly The Gamers: Hands of Fate, is some of their best work they’ve ever put out. The series centers around a group of table top gamers(the same that can be found in most of the other The Gamers creations by ZOE), particularly the character by the name of Cass, as he steps into the world of one extremely popular card game hopes of impressing a woman who's a huge fan of it. But this is seemingly simple premise is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this series. The show also features a secondary narrative that involves the characters that actually exist in the card game as as the players decisions in the real world effect their lives and leads one character, Buckstahue(not sure if I’m spelling that right), in particular to start questioning what mysterious forces are controlling their lives. The show is a real treat filled with twists and turns I never saw coming, it's fascinating seeing how the real world actions of this card game effects the card characters lives as well as question if and when Buckstahue will figure out what strings control her actions. The stories surrounding the other characters in the party might not be as engaging but they are by no means a weak point of the series either, many of their subplots are engaging in their own rights and pay off certain character moments established in proper The Gamers creations. If this peaks your interest then the series can still be found on Zombie Orpheus's Youtube channel or as a movie on The Fantasy Network. ZOE had pivoted more towards live streaming as opposed to the scripted content of their past but I'd love to see more content from The Gamers one day. Source
LARPs The Series
LARPs The Series first premiered at GenCon 2014 and took home the award for Best Independent Series. The year after it was picked up by Geek and Sundry as a part of a push for more scripted content on the channel which was where I and many others first got a chance to watch it. When the short trailer for popped up on the G&S channel everything about it screamed that I was absolutely going to love it, and I wasn’t wrong. The series centers around a 4 man party of larpers (AKA Live Action Role Players) by the names of Will, Brittany, Arthur and Sam and their DM (Dungeon Master) Evan as we follow their lives in and out of the game. The show is surprisingly heartfelt and sympathetic towards the characters involved in this often misunderstood and mocked hobby as it shows how larping enriches their often turbulent lives and connects them all as friends on a deep and meaningful level. These characters felt real and you really rooted for them as they deal with, work, relationships and the many other hurtles of adult life as they wait eagerly to gear up for whatever peril might befall them in their next campaign session. The show was also pretty hilarious, seeing them play out classic predicaments that any party, whether they be larpers or table top roleplayers, have experienced such as one player trying to roll to kill a tavern owner or romances between PCs were always a joy to watch unfold. Another thing that most will notice right away is how the production value and direction are surprisingly astounding as well, especially in season 2. I was shocked by just how much quality was put into the show from the costumes and sets as well as from a writing standpoint. If you're interested in checking out the show then it can be found on Amazon Prime but they can also still be viewed for free on YouTube or in The Fantasy Network. Beanduck, the production company behind LARPs The series, is working towards a funding campaign in hopes of earning enough to produce a third season so if you have any spare change you might want to toss it their way in support. Regardless if you decide to help or not, LARPs The Series is a show that I think any nerdy individual will enjoy. Source
Glitch
Glitch was another show produced by the team over at Zombie Orpheus Entertainment, but it never seemed to get the same kind of love as many of their other productions. The concept was brilliant: What if one day you woke up and found out your life operated on the logic of video games? Well this is the predicament that a programing temp nicknamed Glitch finds himself in. Most episodes of the show centered around particular game mechanics causing problems in his and his friends lives and how he tries to figure out ways to work around or fix problems they've created. Glitch, Wyatt and Samus were all fantastic characters and it was always fun seeing Glitch trying to work through some real world problem with game logic like trying to flirt with a woman he likes using a conversation wheel like in Mass Effect or figuring out how to "defeat" his boss at work who he see's as an actual game boss. Another thing I liked about the show was how the characters really felt like real people I knew, they played games on the couch, debated about which Sci-Fi starship captains were the best, and they grilled each other in nerdy ways while working in slang from their favorite bits of nerd culture into their daily vocabulary. I always hoped that ZOE would eventually put out a second season but unfortunately for whatever reason that never became a reality. Now days the channel that originally hosted Glitch has changed their name to Burger Orchard and rarely if ever uploads anything, but luckily those original episodes of Glitch can still be found on their. Give it a watch, it's short but sweet and if you really enjoyed the show a lot there are little companion shorts that can also be found on the channel. Source
The Street Fighter
The Game Station was an early find for me back in my early college days, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I shaved away many hours watching all kinds of gaming related content on that channel instead of studying for exams. One production, created by one of the channels founders Layne Pavoggi, which came out in late 2011 and was a cut above much their already fantastic content was a short lived series was called The Street Fighter. The series centered around a single dad by the name of Phil who has just lost his job and decides to take up a short career as a professional Street Fighter player to provide for his son as well as keep his mind off of the stressful and highly competitive job market. This a real underdog story that’s extremely reminiscent of old sports 80s films where the protagonist has everything working against them, with that being said you might think that such a trope filled narrative would make things a little predictable and you wouldn’t be wrong but there’s still plenty to love since this concept has really never been explored with videogame to my knowledge. Phil is a guy you’d be hard pressed not to warm up to, especially when you see him interacting with his preteen son Ryan or his best friend/semi love interest Camile (played by former All That star and all around spectacular person Lisa Foiles). Seeing him trying to make his way into the job market, taking odd jobs here and there just to try and get by while also playing Street Fighter to destress and become better for the sake of winning a competition for money to support his son really makes to root for him through all of it. One aspect of the show that I really this is fantastic is how it feels truly authentic to the FGC (Fighting Game Community) when it comes to talking about all of the technical aspects of play Street Fighter on a competitive level. There are moments when Phil goes into detail about his “bread and butter” combos or talks about different strategies when it comes to taking on different characters compared to his main. The show was short lived but it can still be found on The Game Stations channel, if you’re looking for a heartfelt underdog story then I highly recommend giving The Street Fighter a shot. Source
Versus Valerie
Versus Valerie is a bit of series finale for a fictional character created by Hannah Spear for the character more commonly known as the Sexy Nerd Girl on her YouTube channel. Even if you didn't watch the characters vlogs over the years leading up to the web series I still think you'll find something to enjoy in this extremely charming show. It centers around Valerie Lapomme, the titular Sexy Nerd Girl, as she lives life hanging out with with her best friend Guy, shopping for comic books, going on dates, vlogging, and trying to make something of herself as a mid 20 something living in Toronto. The brilliant thing about this series is how each episode is structured like or makes homage to popular shows, films and games such as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Memento, and The Matrix just to name a few. On top of that the show is surprisingly well produced and written for something that spawned from a fictional vlog series, Valarie and Guy are much more fleshed out and all the characters including them have some really fantastic character arcs and moments in the show. Valerie’s awkwardness and extremely nerdy imagination felt embracingly relatable to me personally since I often imagine different situations in my life in relation to my own nerdy fandoms. What I was often taken aback by when I first watched the show years ago was just how enjoyable all of the episodes were in their own special way, and the pay off of it all really feels like a proper satisfying ending to the strange and imaginative journey we’ve been on with Valerie. If it peaks your interest at all then you can still find the full series on the Veruse Valerie YouTube channel as well as some of the vlogs prior to the series on the Sexy Nerd Girl channel as well. It’s well worth a viewing and aside from the fantastic lead characters of Guy and Valerie the show also managed to grab Mark Meer as a supporting character, aka the voice of COMMANDER MOTHER F^*$(^% SHEPARD BABY!!! That’s awesome!! Maybe you can help with some of the mechanical details! Most of my knowledge comes from watching Geek & Sundrys LA by night game, so it’s a bit hazy, but here’s what I’ve got so far:
- the hermits are technically an Anarch state, in the sense that they have thrown off the Camarilla, but don’t necessarily follow Anarch rules either. They just do whatever they want, by merit of being a bizzarly large group of kindred
-I imagine they either move locations frequently (season changes) or they live in a ship. If they were to do the former, they might have to contend with previously established barons/princes though, so I like the ship option better. Its a big ol cargo ship in the Atlantic (hence why many hermits are British or American)
- they are pirates, boarding traveling ships and kidnapping people to feed on. Sometimes the people are let go, sometimes they aren’t
- Xisuma is the closest the hermits have to a leader, but he’s pretty chill. He hides his face, constantly in a green bikers helmet that he occasionally customizes. I imagine he’s likely a Lasombra or Banu Haqim, but what ever he is he is old- and far from a distilled bloodline.
-Ren is a a Ventrue in my mind, but somehow, he learned some Gangrel tricks. Maybe through diableie
- Doc is actually a gangrel, which played into territorialism and his goat/creeper skin. His prosthetics are actual prosthetics
- Scar is another Ventrue! He’s pretty old too, I mean, look at how he dresses! (Alternatively, he just likes the style) Also: wheelchair
-Grian is a Brujah. I mean, compulsion to overthrow authority??? Perfect. This often puts him into conflict with some of the others
- Cleo is either Nosferatu or Hecata I think? Fits her skin
- Joe is a Toreador (poet!) or a Malkavian if you want to spice stuff up, but pretty far down the generational line
- Bdubs I have… way to much about. You know how Bdubs keeps making kings or mayors or other authorities that he can be second hand to? I think Bdubs used to be a ghoul. The tendency to follow stuck with him even after he was finally embraced. When he was embraced though, people wanted him dead. He was thrown out into the sun, almost to meat his final death, but survived only by burying himself in moss and leaves. Hence the cape!! And his obsession with time: he remains paranoid that he will be caught out in the day again, and watches the clock obsessively. I think he might be a Tremere? But he still looks visibly vampiric, with too big eyes and too wide smile, as a leftover from his ghoul days. Also! He might still be compelled to feed from kindred blood (hence the king making) but I’m not sure if that actually works.
- Cub is a Tremere or a very cut throat Thin blood. He’s not too old, but he’s pretty powerful.
-Stress is maybe a Tremere and makes potions? Younger as well.
Annnd that’s all I have for now ;-; if I think of more I will add it (:
That moment when you have the most absolute insane au/crossover in your head. Like what the fuck.
Unrelated, would anyone like to hear my ideas about a hermit craft x Vampire the masquerade au ideas?
#hermitcraft#vampire the masquerade#crossover#au#no idea if this is actually game compliant!#but it’s cool#(to me <3 )

10, 15, 53 for the SPN ask meme?
Kelly!! Thanks for the ask! 💕
10. BROTP
I think Charlie and Dean are one of the ultimate underrated BROTP pairings. Dean gives Sam so much shit about being a nerd it’s nice to see Dean having a good time nerding out. Plus Charlie and Dean would be able to talk about girls which is definitely an essential part of being a bro.
Also I’ve been following Felicia Day since her early days at Geek and Sundry. I’m talking like the Flog and The Guild old days. So seeing her on TV on one of my favorite shows made me so happy and proud of how far she had advanced in her career.
15. Favorite monster
I love a good ghost haunting, mainly because of the the show handled it. The ghost of a little boy who drowned manifests in a way that’s different from the ghost who took their own life. Even the different suicide related ghosts play different roles in their haunting.
Some of my favorite ghost episodes are : It’s a Terrible Life (S4 E17), Playthings (S2 E11), and Provenance (S1 E19).
53. Top 3 crack ships
See this is a hard question for me because being in the fandom for so long you hear the case for every ship under the sun, so I have no clue what constitutes a crack ship anymore. Anyway, here are 3 ships that are fun and silly to me in no particular order.
1. Sam/Gabriel - Because Gabriel (at least in the early seasons) was a fun tickster kinda guy and Sam needs to lighten up and be silly once in a while
2. Bobby/Crowley - They kissed with tongue at least once, what more do you want from me?
3. Lillith/Jack - I just want to see how the fuck it could work. Because if it did it would be so good! Besides the boys have both got to fuck demons before, Jack could fuck Lillith as a treat.
This was so much fun! Thank you Kelly!! Hope you have a good day and stay safe out there!

Hello Dael. First off I've been checking out your videos and I like your work. But how come a majority of your mythology videos from the Geek & Sundry channel aren't on your mythology playlist on your channel? I liked them. Any who, just wanted to say Hey and love your work!
So a while back Scott noticed that a bunch of his videos had been set to private, and then when we all checked we noticed it seemed to be videos below a certain view threshold. Then a couple weeks later they took down all of them except the ones on the front of the channel page and the ones that perform well in search engine optimisation.
We didn’t get any warning, we don’t have any info about why they’ve done this; my best guess would be that they’re renovating the channel to reskin it and reuse it, keeping the sub count as a base to launch what is basically a new channel (a la the Sourcefed Incident). Because of the way that G&S Vlogs functioned back in the day there isn’t anything we can do on our end. Becca Canote knows someone still there who says he might be able to get copies of the videos back to us, but I’m not overly hopeful so I’m trying to find any masters I might still have on old hard drives. It’s extra tricky to try and find/remake them while they’re privated because I can’t SEE what they all were, and there were so many! Even then, because they haven’t REMOVED the videos, just kept them private, if I DO reupload them, I’ll be flagged for copyright. SOOOOOOOOOOO. Yeah.
More and more people have been noticing this and I’m concerned it’s getting to the point where I’ll have to make mention of it somewhere noticeable, but I’m not really looking to start new beef with G&S...

Painting Per Episode Master List
I’m painting a picture per episode of Supernatural to improve my digital painting skills! Each painting uses a screencap as a reference. I’ll add links to paintings for each episode as I complete them.
The reference screencap gets posted with each painting over on my Twitter account, and I make step by step gifs of my painting process for each episode as well.
Enjoying my work? Please consider supporting me on Patreon. It’s a “pledge any amount you want” type of situation, and I’m jobless at the moment, so I appreciate it very, very much. ♥ For one-time tips, see also: buy me a Ko-Fi?

With 15 days to go before the next Campaign begins, I have been rewatching and relistening to the last. I am going to miss Vox Machina so much, and I each time each character does something so tied to who they are, i'm reminded of just how much i'm going to miss.
I'm going to miss Trinket. Just in general. No Matt being Trinket, no bear noises, no 'oh buddy', no Laura getting all sappy over her bear. Because Trinket bear was best bear and i'm gonna miss him. Will we have another mascot for the new group? Who knows. It is nice, at least, that Trinket will likely always be there on the Talks Machina set, and sometimes there just in the background of another Geek and Sundry set because he's become so a part of, and well loved, by so many there.
I'm going to miss Vex. Her bond with Trinket. Her bond with Vax so full of emotion. Her love with Percy and their growth both individually and together as they worked toward forgiveness. Her friendship with the girls, fun and free; having been jealous of Keyleth before for being close to Percy and thinking she was taking away her brother, only to look after her and bond with her as a sister. Her admiration toward Scanlan, always looking out for him and seeking his advice. Her careful looking out for Grog, hoping he wouldn't cause problems but never making him feel stupid. Her hate and then becoming best friends with Taryon. Her haggling. Her flying high on her broom. Her heart and conviction. Her daring. Her voice. Her going from that lost girl hoarding money to feel secure and having no home to a woman comfortable and happy and making her home on her own. I came to Critical Role because of Laura as I first watched Titan's Grave and I followed her to this. So I loved her first, and Vex was and still is, my favorite. So I will miss her terribly.
I'm going to miss Vax. From that daring idiot going into danger alone, to the grieving, lost, and depressed person who didn't know where to belong and feared the fate that had touched him, to the man content in his place and to leave. I am going to miss Jenga. I'm going to miss him soaring, winged in battle, dealing incredible amounts of damage. I'm going to miss his terrible love for his sister, his love for Keyleth, and his love for Gilmore. The moment he beaned Tary and then took him in. I'm going to miss his admiration for the Gnomes. For his admiration of Scanlan's strength and their friendship, for his admiration of Pike in general and for whom he wanted to follow in the footsteps of. I'm going to miss his early pranks with Grog that became a partnership, and stood by his side when he was gnomeless. For his brotherhood with Percy, starting as a fun friendship that broke and had to mend because of what happen to his sister. I'm going to miss the selfless idiot, the self sacrifices he made, and the great love he had for his friends.
I'm going to miss Keyleth. Her awkwardness, her deep convictions, her strength, and her growth into leadership. How she feared hurting people but was never afraid to try things. How she was afraid of spotlight and becoming a hero. How she struggled with anger and self doubt and revenge. I'm going to miss her love of Vax and her friendship with Percy. I'm going to miss her admiration of Vex's coolness and Pike in general. I'm going to miss her smaller but powerful moments with Grog who promised to fight with her and the moment she asked him how he dealt with his rage. Even the smaller moments with Scanlan which were so rare. I'm even going to miss her antlers.
I'm going to miss Percy. His terribly long name, his anger, his darkness, his sass, and his witty one-liners. Life needs things to live. I'm going to miss his devil's luck with natural twenties and his golden snitch. (Taliesin should not have allowed Matt to inherit that dice). I'm going to miss his excited laughter and his ideas and inventions. I'm going to miss his many gift arrows to Vex and his overall love for her and how he did everything he could to make sure she was happy and listened to her especially when he couldn't trust himself. I'm going to miss his broken and healing bond with Vax. I'm going to miss his odd friendship with Keyleth. His science-bro-ness with Taryon and his friendship and then rivalry with Scanlan who he felt had abandoned him. His teasing but fondness of Grog who he saw as a brother. His admiration for Pike's goodness. And his odd relationship with his sister. Most importantly, though, I am happy that he finally realized peace, how much he missed his family, and was content to have a family, create and make art, and never make another weapon again.
I'm going to miss Taryon though we knew him a short while. He was fun and inexperienced but sweet. I'm going to miss Doty. I'm going to miss his bond of friendship and love of Vex and Percy. I'm going to miss the trouble he got into with Grog that made them Wanted in Vasselheim. I'm going to miss his admiration toward Keyleth who he saw as a leader. I'm going to miss his small moments with Pike and her teaching him everyone's names and how he was determined to follow through. I'm going to miss the smaller moments with Vax, who had beaned him on the back of the head and then promptly adopted him. I'm going to regret not seeing more of him, tho I am happy he found Larry and changed the course of his family, finally finding confidence in himself to do so.
I'm going to miss Scanlan. It took me a while to warm up to him, problematic as he was, but slowly is saw the heart of him. Won over by the devotion to his friends and his amazing songs. I may miss his songs the most. I'm going to miss his love turned full admiration of Pike who he did not expect to love him back but he was hopeful, then backed off and learned to know her as a person finally, not expecting much but asked her out only to have her do the same. I'm going to miss his bond with his daughter and his many bad decisions. I'm going to miss his team ups with Vex and his friendship with Grog, his partner in crime. I'm going to miss his awkward friendship with Keyleth and his closer bond with Vax and how he tried to save him and how it broke his heart when he couldn't. I'm going to miss his rivalry with Percy, even if darker towards the end, though Percy did say he wanted to apologize in the end. I'm even going to miss his hatred of Trinket. Maybe not entirely hatred, more that he found Trinket more in the way than anything. I'm going to miss Burt Reynolds, attorney at small, and the meatman. I'm going to never forget the day he became a Triceratops and took on an entire house of enemies all by himself. But yes, mostly, Scanlan songs...i can't imagine being without them permanently.
I'm going to miss Pike. Ever a healer and kind, but so small and terribly powerful and strong, second only to Grog. How she went against the conventional for clerics. I'm going to miss the Monstah. I'm going to miss her admonishing of Scanlan then slowly finding she loved him. I'm going to miss her sweet bond with Vax she lovingly called String-bean. I'm going to miss her bond with Grog, her best friend and brother, her buddy. I'm going to miss her closeness to Vex and Keyleth who were like her sisters. I'm going to miss how she admonished and taught Taryon everyone's names. I'm going to miss even her unrequited interest in Percy that remained a good friendship. I'm going to miss her threatening literal gods for the sake of her friends and family. I'm going to miss her strength and light. I'm going to miss angel Pike, astral projecting to be with her friends. I'm going to miss her bond with Sarenrae. The smallest and most powerful gnome, she was.
I'm going to miss Grog. I'm going to miss his rage and his ability have strange bonds with sentient and far more intelligent weapons. I'm going to miss his love of gnomes. I'm going to miss team Tol and smol. I'm going to miss how much he loved and admired his best friend Pike, his buddy who taught him to read and write his name. I'm going to miss his friendship with Scanlan, and how hurt he was to feel he was replaced when Scanlan returned. How big and intimidating he was but also how bigger his heart was and how much love he had for his friends. I'm going to miss his strange friendship with Vex and Percy who lovingly teased him but always looked out for him. I'm going to miss his pranks with Vax which turned into respect. I'm going to miss how he didn't quite like Tary but their moments together were amusing. I'm going to miss those sweet and short moments with Keyleth when he taught her about rage. I'm going to miss his small moments of brilliance and his others that landed them in trouble. I'm going to miss his protective silence when others died and knew how to keep all going but how he broke when Scanlan died. I'm going to miss his admiration of Kima and literally any woman who could kick his ass.
I'm going to even miss Tiberius in a way though it's been so long. His bumbling and lack of social understanding. But mostly i'll always remember how brokenhearted they were when he left and when he died.
I'm going to miss the Slayers Cake. I'm going to miss badass Kima and her powerful wife Allura. I’m going to miss Zahra who was so amazing. I’m going to miss grouchy Kashaw. I’m going to miss Lilith and Tova and Lionel. I’m going to miss unfortunate Thorbir and ditzy Lyra. I’m going to miss Kerr bear. I’m going to miss Garthok. I’m going to never forget Arkhan the cruel who stole Vecna’s hand. I’m going to miss Sprigg, the key to Ioun. I’m going to miss Dr. Dranzel and Kaylie. I’m going to miss little Velora Vessar. I’m going to miss crazy old Viktor the gunpowder merchant. I’m going to miss that poor merchant that VM always tormented and who Grog hired to teach him. I’m going to miss sweet Tyriok the mapmaker. I’m going to miss Kern the Hammer and Earthbreaker Groon. I'm going to miss Glorious Shaun Gilmore and his beautiful voice and manner. I'm going to miss J'mon Sa Ord and their too few appearances. I'm going to miss Artagan, that amazing arch-fey who drew silly pictures and choked out Vax once to make a deal. I'm going to miss Cassandra who struggled and Kynan who was lost. And I hope to see them all...at least once more...in the new campaign. With Artagan's new entrance to Exandria available and J'mon being what they are, i'm sure at least they'll be around.
I'm going to miss Clarota, no matter how much of a betrayer he had been, he had still been an interesting companion. I'm going to miss the tragedy and darkness of the Briarwoods, and wonder if Silas is still out there in hiding or if the remaining of Vox Machina dealt with him sometime later. I'm never going to forget Raishan the clever who is likely gone forever and Ripley their other great nemesis. I'm going to wonder if Orthax still lurks somewhere in the Hells.
There are so many people to miss.
I'm going to miss team Tol and Smol. I'm going to miss team Half-eff and Disaster Human. Most of all, i'm going to miss this found and broken family. How much they've been through together and how much they have grown individually and as a group.
I came late to the party, just as they were in the Feywild. It's been just over a year for me but it's come to mean everything. I look forward to the new group and the new campaign and am excited at all that awaits...but i'll never forget Vox Machina and all the laughter and tears I had during their journey.

Wasting Police Time...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (19th-23rd March 2018)
It’s getting to the stage now in Milo’s story where he could parade around in front of Cindy and Tom wearing a t-shirt that says “I caused the crash that killed your parents” and they’d still think there was nothing remotely odd about him. One person who is suspicious, though, is Tony. Ever since he discovered that Milo had burned the newspaper article that Finn gifted him, Tony has been desperate to find out just what the computer geek is hiding. This week, Tony was delighted when The Chester Herald informed him that they could send him a copy of the article but he made the fatal error of telling all and sundry about it. Of course, this was terrible news for Milo and so he phoned Tony pretending to be someone at the newspaper and informed him that the article was no longer available. Not to be deterred, Tony headed along to the local library to look through the newspaper archives kept there. However, just as he settled himself at the computer, the power went off, courtesy of Milo, and when the place was evacuated, Milo went back in and tampered with the computer Tony had been using. Tony was left frustrated when, just as Milo’s mug shot appeared on the screen, the computer went off. Strangely, Tony decided to leave it at that and seemed happy to believe Tom’s claims that Milo was perfectly normal, even though he’d just seen his mug shot on the cover of the paper. Tony Hutchinson: Another Hollyoaks resident who needs his head examined...
Meanwhile, it was a big week for Cindy as she prepared to open her catering van and, given the state of the clapped out van that arrived on Monday, not to mention her worrying lack of resources just a day before opening, it was a miracle that the entire venture got off the ground in the first place! Luckily for Cindy, she beat the odds and got the van ready for the launch and she was touched when Tom told her how proud he was of her. Unfortunately for Cindy, she accidentally blabbed to Dirk that she’d stolen £10,000 from Tom and Dirk felt it his duty to tell Tom what had happened. Tom was left devastated by Cindy’s betrayal and informed everyone of what his thieving cow of a sister had done during his speech at the launch. Both Holly and Tom were furious with Cindy and Tom soon announced that he and Steph were moving out, whilst Holly told her Mum that she hated her. All alone, Cindy sought comfort from Damon, who was having his own problems after walking in on Holly kissing Zack. Cindy and Damon ended up sleeping together and Damon felt so guilty about what he’d done, that he told Holly he didn’t think they should see each other any more. Meanwhile, so as not to upset Holly, Dirk found himself lying that he had been the one to sleep with Cindy.
Elsewhere, Mandy, Luke and the kids headed to Florida for their wedding, leaving Darren in a foul mood, which didn’t go unnoticed by Nancy. Despite his attempts at sabotage, Darren was forced to watch the live stream of the wedding down at The Dog, but the whole thing became too much for him and he ran off. He and Nancy argued about their relationship and an emotional Darren later told Jack that he and Nancy were struggling. Jack convinced Darren that his marriage was worth fighting for but it was clear Darren wasn’t quite convinced. That wasn’t the only Osborne drama this week and Jack and Darcy’s relationship continued to cause tension within the family. Jack was devastated when he discovered that his voicemail from Frankie had been secretly deleted by Darcy and little Toby ended up taking the blame when he accidentally told Esther what his Mother had done. Jack wasn’t sad for too long, though, and he and Darcy ended the week by getting engaged! What kind of lunacy is this?!
There’s no shortage of criminals waiting to be arrested in Hollyoaks, so it was interesting last week to see DS Thorpe prioritising finding his missing stapler over finding a missing baby. This week, it would appear that he still hasn’t learnt his lesson as he took time out of the day job to to take young Leah in for questioning. Her crime? Skipping school for one day. Ste was clearly struggling with Leah’s bad behaviour this week as she refused to go to school and he soon called in reinforcements in the shape of ‘Uncle Geoff’. The plan was that a trip to the police station would scare Leah into getting back on the straight and narrow but she quickly realised that the whole thing was a set up and she made DS Thorpe look like a right plonker when she pointed out that his tape recorder wasn’t switched on. Leah later confessed to DS Thorpe that she was missing Ry Ry, although God knows why, and she soon came up with a plan to get him back as she sent him a message from Ste’s phone. The following day, with still no word from Ry Ry, Leah pretended to be ill and once again sent Ry Ry a message pretending to be Ste. Leah was delighted when Ry Ry showed up but he was soon on his way again when he realised that he’d been conned by an eleven year old girl.
With a little help from Leah and Lucas, Ste was able to convince Ry Ry to stay but he wasn’t quite ready to be open with everyone about his and Ste’s relationship, and so they asked Leah to keep quiet about it. Although Leah agreed to keep shtum, she was later seen putting a copy of Ry Ry and Ste’s texts into Amy’s memory box, the contents of which would be read out at her memorial service the following week. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m really struggling with this story. I just don’t buy Ste and Ryan as a couple and I don’t believe that either would ever go there given their history. It feels like it’s been done purely for shock value rather than because it’s right for the characters. In saying that though, it looks like Ry Ry’s days in the village are numbered so at least we won’t have to suffer this terrible couple for too long!
In other news this week, Leela was devastated when DS Thorpe informed her that they’d found a body that matched Peri’s description. The body turned out not to be Peri, leaving Leela more desperate than ever to find out where her daughter was. It was the week of Maggie’s funeral and Brody, Damon and Scott found out that she’d left them £20,000 each. Brody suggested that he and Damon use their share to set up a bar in New York, leaving Holly and Scott devastated. Finally, there was a close shave for Grace and Adam when they accidentally hid some drugs right under DS Thorpe’s nose and, over the the school, kidnapped Kim was starting to run out of food..
5 Things We Learnt This Week:
1. Lying’s wrong. Unless Darcy does it, in which case it’s totally fine.
2. Hollyoaks exists in some sort of weird time travelling universe. Frankie left a voice message for Jack on the day she died, which was in October 2017. Yet, the message, as we saw on Jack’s phone, was dated ‘11/01/17′.
3. Leah’s a big fan of The Real Housewives of New York. Shouldn’t she be watching The Real Housewives of Cheshire instead, what with it being a bit more local?
4. Hollyoaks Police Station have a secret stash of marshmallows just in case a stroppy eleven year old demands some with her hot chocolate.
5. If his reaction to the broken computer was anything to go by, Tony is oblivious to the fact that you need to be quiet when you visit a library.
Doreen Watch:
Poor Doreen has been missing Ry Ry like mad since he did a runner, so she’d have been delighted to see him return this week! Also this week, we discovered that she and DS Thorpe are into their historical battle reenactments. I wonder if they ever encountered Jim McGinn?
Fashion Disaster of the Week:
I know it was his Mum’s funeral, but when I first saw Scott’s suit, I thought a bird had done it’s business on it.

Hey C-chan! I've been wanting to get into Critical Role for awhile. Is the Geek and Sundry site a good place to catch up on past episodes?
It is! You can find all past episodes here, or conveniently divided up on YouTube into the old campaign and new one. I... might suggest starting with the new one, as it has about one day’s worth of content, rather than... over half a month’s, but if you’re up for the time suck it’s totally worth it.
Both campaigns are also available in audio format pretty much wherever you like to get podcasts from.
Let me know if you need any more information, and I’d be glad to share what I can! =D

Ok so I didn't want to send an ask to will Wheaton if it's a sore subject, but what happened with him and tabletop? I love that show I've bought like six games because of it
Well it’s hard to speak with accuracy because, as I noted in my ask, Wil and everyone who works/worked for Geek and Sundry has their ability to speak locked behind what’s called a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). NDAs can be rather benign legal documents - “if you come work with us on this movie, don’t tell anyone what the story is about” - but their often used as a corporate cudgel into silencing people when things go wrong, when they are mistreated, or how and why a project goes off the rails. Any time a big movie is a giant flop, for example, nobody ever speaks up an goes “It’s because Tom Cruise re-wrote the script, put himself in every scene, and barely left his trailer.” They might hint at it, and rumours might lake out, but nobody can say “this guy wrecked the movie because they’re an egomaniac” and so on - an the rare times they do they often get sued. Freedom of speech... isn’t.So what does this have to do with Geek and Sundry? Well, because of the NDAs it’s difficult to sort truth from rumour, but the implication seems to be that ever since Legendary bought-up Geek and Sundry, they didn’t know what to do with it and decided to plow it into the ground by burying it under stupid ideas nobody likes. Putting Tabletop under a paywall, for example, over the objections of the creator. I imagine Wil went to the mat about this - he was vocal about his displeasure, for example - and while that didn’t get him sued, it did get him side-lined on his own project - execs don’t like it when the talent bad-mouths them. Tabletop season 5 should already be filming by now - or at the very least in some form of production. Is it? Nobody knows - nobody’s saying. It may never come back, though - it may just be quietly buried and left to fade away, while Wil seethes and fumes and cannot act. Profitability is another issue - I don’t think Geek and Sundry ever made much in the way of money. Hopefully it broke even, but it may not have even done that - success, especially internet success, doesn’t ever necessarily lead to much in the way of revenue. Tabletop was a show done out of love - a desire to create, to speak to a hobby growing neglected, to start a movement, even - but I doubt anyone thought it would make them rich. Legendary like thought, an thinks, differently - it’s not enough to produce art, to produce things people love, to guide the conversation, to be an institution - it’s got to not just make money, it’s got to rake in the profits. It’s got to be ‘worthwhile’ to the whole toxic bullshit that is corporate interest, what is killing art and artists (but don’t get me started.)Titansgrave is likely a victim of that profit motive more than anything - it was not a huge success, but companies don’t care about small but passionate fanbases, they care about big, high-rolling fanbases - like Critical Role. Critical Role is great, but I imagine its production costs are pretty low - it’s just a few static cameras and streaming bandwidth. Is anyone in it paid? No idea - but if they are I imagine it isn’t crazy either. Contra Titansgrave, with its graphics and editing and curated sound design - it’s a much slicker, much more complex production. (Caveat: I’m not yet all caught up on CR, maybe by episode 100 everything is CGI, but I doubt it.) CR just needs everyone to show up for half a day and play dungeons and dragons with a tech or two to keep things running smoothly - Titansgrave needed a staff, not to mention the effort of building and designing a game from scratch. (Also, doesn’t CR end up with sponsers? If they do that’s a real expensive-offsetting feather in its cap.)This got kind of long winded, and I cannot speak for its veracity - maybe Titansgrave and Tabletop have disappeared because Wil left the rights in a newspaper Uncle-Billy style and mean old Mr. Potter is hoarding them for himself - but I doubt it. The same thing has happened to Felisha Day, allegedly - from the sound of things she’s been persona non grata at her own network. It’s shitty. And doubtless someone will come by to tell me that Legendary has the right to earn a profit on their investment but I’m so sick of that line I could vomit. Legendary didn’t birth Tabletop - they took it over, and when it didn’t work they way they wanted it to they hit it with a hammer to try and ‘fix it’ - an when they upset people they shoved it in a drawer so nobody could have it. And, frankly, I’m tired of ‘the right to earn profit’ - the right of people who have the least input to reap the most reward. Patronage is one thing - but art has to be a revenue stream. And I’m done with the calculus of greed that argues that’s a moral use of creators’ talents.Wil Wheaton has spent his life getting fucked by companies who didn’t have faith in him - who pigeonholed him in this way or that and never gave him a chance to do more. He finally found a place when his work as a creative person could be made, promoted, and loved - but it still wasn’t “good enough” for the money men, so he lost that too.And that’s just wrong. People want Titansgrave and Tabletop to come back - but in Legendary’s eyes, they’re not the right people. They don’t spend enough. They don’t buy enough. They don’t make Legendary wealthy - not in the way it wants.#FreeTabletop #FreeTitangrave #FreeWilWheaton

I was tagged by @suis0u to share ten facts about myself. Thank you, dear!
🍂 I used to be big on watching TV and going to the cinema, but then I migrated onto the Internet. Now I almost exclusively watch YouTube Let’s Plays (ChristopherOdd, Marbozir, Centerstrain01, and Geek & Sundry) for fun or as white noise while I work.
🍂 I’ve been told I‘d known I wanted to be an interior designer like my parents and inherit their high-end home remodeling company, ever since I’d been 2 or 3 years old, I believe. I haven’t deviated from that decision since.
🍂 I‘m not really fond of sweets or sugary candies. I satisfy cravings with dark chocolate, peppermint, or coffee candy. I abhor white chocolate.
🍂 Ever since my client gifted my family with a Swiss coffeemaker and a milk frother, we start our day by drinking espresso. Watching the capsules fall every time that I open the lid has become my morning entertainment.
🍂 I‘m more comfortable with writing than at verbal communication. I had to take speech therapy until I was 3rd grade in primary school—to get over my habit of rambling run-ons, not pronouncing “th,” and confusing “r’s” and “w’s”.
🍂 I talk to myself when I read or write. Sometimes I act out scenes or possible character dialogue. But one time when I’d been driving my friends from the next lane over saw me gesturing to myself at a red light, and the next day they mimicked what they saw and asked me what I’d been doing. I was mortified.
🍂 A typical wardrobe choice for me is a combination of a black blouse and black tights, a red scarf, sometimes black leather gloves, sometimes a black beret (for bad hair days), and sometimes blue headphones.
🍂 With my hairstyle, glasses, and 5’2” height, an inside joke between me and my friends is that I look like Edna Mode.
🍂 In primary school, my reading materials were shounen or shoujo manga like Yu-Gi-Oh and Tokyo Mew Mew, adult romance novels like those by Nora Roberts/ J.D. Robb, and the Hannibal series by Thomas Harris.
🍂 It’s a bit of a hyperbolic statement, but I am allergic to nature. Physical contact with grass, flowers, tree bark, and untreated natural wood (even dust or shavings) make my skin itchy, red, and a bit swollen. When I was in Japan, surrounded by trees and flowers and even a bamboo forest, I had to wear a mask because I wouldn’t stop sneezing or sniffling or coughing.
I tag @ghostriders, @curiousbecuriousblueram, @kitcat1925, @ma-vhenan-is-sky-blue-siha, @01paige01 and whoever else wants to do this~.

The Purkinje Effect, 25
Table of Contents
The colonial ghoul leaned down to peer at his friend under the stairs.
"Heard I might find ya here."
Geek put a candy wrapper to mark his spot as he closed the Beat book.
"Gave ya some space,” Hancock said, “but I wanted to make sure you were all right after that." He gestured at Geek's leg. "Got into a scrap since we parted company earlier, I see."
No longer oblivious to the injury, the pink ghoul instead ignored it.
"Mind if I join you?” Hancock pulled up a folding chair from nearby. He smiled as he sat, and wagged a vague finger at the holiday ornamentation. “Heh, where'd you even find this thing?"
"Back room. Seemed like a good idea at the time." Geek laid down all the way and glanced up dully at the tree from around the steamer trunk. The bubble lights dazzled his hangover. "Y'can imagine it ain't easy to keep somethin' like this at the vault."
"Imagine not. About the vault..." Hancock slouched with a sigh. "I respect that you're not telling me everything about your folks. Don't misunderstand me here, I'm not asking you to. I get it, if there's things you don't want to say, or... can't. What I'm trying to say is, I'm not forcing ya to go out there if you're not ready."
"It makes me sound like an asshole, to say I'm not."
"No, it just makes it clear to me that it’s not just a moral obligation, to take home what you've learned."
"--Here, this book." He sprawled out on his elbows at the foot of the tree, and held open the pages as he thumbed back a few to find an exact part:
" 'An' that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn't know who I was--I was far away from home, haunted and tired with travel, in a cheap hotel room I'd never seen, hearin' the hiss a steam outside, and the creak f'the old wood of the hotel, and footsteps upstairs, and all the sad sounds, and I looked at the cracked high ceilin' and really didn't know who I was for about fifteen strange seconds. Wasn't scared; I was just somebody else, some stranger, and my whole life was a haunted life, the life of a ghost.' "
Geek rolled over on his side in the floor, facing away from Hancock, and shut his eye. The hoodlum ghoul picked up the book and eyed the page his friend had had it open to, then shut the wrapper back in it and set it under the tree.
"Damn, is Daisy's taste outright uncanny some days. Goodneighbor is a fine place to find yourself, and separate your you-ness from your ghosts."
Though Geek curled up tighter under the tree, he mentally unclenched when he could tell Hancock had no intention of grilling him.
"Thought I could take my mind off of my problems with the book. But, I can't run from myself any more than you can, I guess. Or anybody. I just. I been up top about a month now. Compare that to how long I stayed in 82. Two centuries, a month feels like two minutes in a day. Two minutes. An' I already gotta go back so soon after I got out? ...Feels like survivor guilt, Hancock. Feels bad. Real bad."
"Come on now, don't be like that. I get where you're coming from. That kind of trip takes time to stock up and prepare for, either way. And not just physically. Traveling the open road has a profound effect on a fellow." Hancock leaned down and smirked at him. "Besides, isn't this all business we're talking? You're supposed to be taking a break from all this shit."
Geek glanced over his shoulder at Hancock, then at length eyed a low branch of the tree.
"You do know you're under a piece of mistletoe, right."
Hancock turned just enough to inspect a broken glass-blown ornament on the bough he was nearest, and slyly grinned back down to Geek.
"And what might that mean?"
"It might mean I'm bullshitting you for a kiss," Geek mumbled. "Mistletoe goes over your head, not on a tree. And... y'stand under it, hopin'... somebody might take a hint..."
"You trying to tell me, you want me to get down under this dusty relic to lie in the floor with another dusty relic?" Hancock oozed coolly out of the chair to comply. "Suppose I can do that." A moment of thoughtful silence transpired as they each, on his back, glanced up into the guts of the technicolor tree. "So... what are we doing under here? --Man, brother, just imagine being under one of these things riding a hit of Jet!"
Geek’s face fumbled, but he turned onto his left side to draw Hancock by the cheek to face him, to firmly kiss him. Hancock approved of being shut up in such a fashion, and returned the building ardor, the first to part his mouth and let his tongue join in. His hat spilled off and the two broke into chuckling as they adhered to one another in a mess of wandering hands.
Fooling around brought to the pink ghoul’s attention all the sundry of scrapes and bruises his afternoon’s activities had apportioned him. There were more bullet wounds than he remembered; he wondered how many Triggermen he’d exterminated. Yet, rather than complain about it, he got off his battered shoulder and straddled Hancock. A dumb smile crossed his face, and he sniffed to hide a wince as he gazed endearingly at him.
The colonial ghoul’s smile soon melted, his marred features neutral with attention. When Geek didn’t understand, Hancock pursed his lips and licked at them.
“You’re... sweating again. You feel as bad as you look?”
Geek got off of him and sat on his knees in the floor. The gloves came off, producing clammy, crusty palms. He fished out from his coveralls a futile work rag, which first wiped down his face, then wrung over and over between his hands. The rag proved somewhat useless, so he took a testing lap at his fingers. When the saliva seemed to help dispatch the bizarre substance, he spat into his hands and worked the spit and metal salts into the rag.
He hoped his companion hadn’t noticed his trembling all the while.
“Yeah... I... I guess you could say y’got me sweatin’, hah. I... I should, I should get back on the contract I took earlier. Oh-- Only a third a the way done.”
Geek stood. Hancock grabbed his ankle and glared up at him from the floor.
“--Hey. You’re not goin’ anywhere without those injuries seen to. I know you need to get a lot of different things out of your system right now, but you’re pushin’ yourself too hard. Take a tic to breathe, Geek. You might’a just come back from the brink of death, but you’re not bulletproof, my man.”
The tension in Geek’s posture melted into resignation as he met Hancock’s black eyes with hollowness in his own. The ichorous, iridescent sweat continued trickling down his face.
“If I slow down, I can’t keep my brain quiet.”
“...Here...” Hancock kept his grip on Geek, unsure whether his friend might still sprint off, and dug with his free hand in his waistcoat’s inner pocket. He produced a red-ampuole inhaler and offered it up. “You look like you could use this.” Geek looked evenly at it, but didn’t accept the gift. “It’s Jet. Just a laced dose. Hallucinogen, but it works a lot like a downer for me. I’m right here with ya if you’re worried it’ll make things weird.”
The pink ghoul sat down in the floor again, legs crossed, and sighed.
“I never messed with it before the war,” he mumbled, “but I’ve heard lots about it. Sounds like weed, but stronger. This what you been takin’ hits of while we traveled?”
“Yeahhh.” Hancock turned to laze on his side, facing Geek as he propped his head up in one hand. He fidgeted with the chem. “Keeps me mellow when I need mellowing. A great distraction, if you ask me. Laced out, it lasts longer, but it’s not as potent. Might help you better than more liquor.”
Geek took the inhaler from his friend, not wanting him to think he didn’t trust him after what had happened with the Psycho before. When he accepted it, he could read similar worry on Hancock’s bated breath, so he absently patted the delinquent ghoul’s knee.
“You’ll stay here with me, then?” I don’t want to be alone.
“Absolutely.” I don’t want to leave you alone.
The relic thought to himself, I really oughtta figure a better way to shut up my head. But, today’s not the day for it. He laid down beside Hancock again, and shot him a fleeting glance before letting out a breath and mouthing the actuator. He depressed the canister and took in the murky, bitter vapor. And with a slow, reeling exhale through his split nostrils, he found himself staring up into the Christmas tree, lost in the kaleidoscope of lights which captivated just as readily as his demons.
