So, for real, about tags.

Come the fuck on, guys.

It is so annoying and frustrating how people still tag a ship they are hating on. I continuously go to my “Dickkory” or “RobStar” tag just to see people hating and ranting about their dislike for the ships in question. Stop fucking doing that. Like, just don’t tag it? It’s not that hard to not be an immature idiot and tag it just for the sake of riling up other fans.

Fans of, we’ll use robstar as an example for my rant, go to that specific tag to go through things that make them happy about their favourite ship. So, don’t be an asshole and fill it with hate, okay? You just get angry fans coming after you because you provoked them to speak up. Don’t poke the bear. Ever heard of that expression? Probably not if you actively do misuse tags.

We understand that you don’t like a ship. Fine. Great. You don’t have to but respect that others do. When it comes down to it, no one really cares. Like, in the nicest way possible for me to say that. Don’t force your fucking hatred for a ship in the faces of those who do like said ship. Like, just don’t do it because that makes you a grade A prick.

People have their reasons on not liking a certain character or ship, which is absolutely hunky-dory. I respect that. But, don’t deliberately tag a ship that you’re talking shit about because of course you are going to get actual fans of them ranting at you because you have tagged it and pissed them off. It’s a two way street.

But, don’t do that irritating thing of then playing the victim like, *whining voice*.. ��omggg robstar fans are such jerks because they’re yelling at me about not liking their ship. God, why are they always shoving it in our faces.”

We’re not, you thick minded twerps. You are attacking what we like first so OF COURSE we aren’t just going to sit there, looking at the robstar tag with all your shitty hate in it and smile like it’s okay. It’s not. It’s fucking annoying.

And, don’t misunderstand me. This is a defending of all ships, not just robstar. I’m just using that one as an example because it’s my main fave.

It goes for all ships because unfortunately, every ship has it’s collective fanbase and you get a couple assholes in those fanbases who are just looking to rub others up the wrong way and cause issues.

But, if you do deliberately mistag just to rile up some other fans of a different ship; you’re pathetic. Like, utterly and truly pathetic.

If you’re talking about a ship then it can’t always be helped. Which I think is something people get confused with. If you don’t tag it but are actively using the tag of a ship in your post, it’ll still filter through into the tag. It’s annoying but it happens.

In that case, it’s kinda understandable but tbh, you could always alter the spelling just to accommodate fellow fans within the fandom.

It’s ridiculous that people genuinely get into arguments about shipping. Like, don’t be assholes. Stick to your tags and just be civil? Like it’s not hard?? Just be nice???

It just pisses me off when I go to the tags like robstar/ dickkory or even bbrae just to see some asshat spouting their hate for them? Like no one is asking you to like them; just respect the fact that some people do and you can’t force them to think otherwise.

Which leads me to the way we talk about other fans. I’m a dickkory/robstar fan. And, in some posts, I see people talk about how “evil” we are and how we shove the ship in others’ faces. How the ship is overrated and how they need to dial it down in movies and tv and how it is continually “forced” on fans. Personally, I disagree but not just because I am a fan; just because I don’t think it is shown off enough considering what the impact of the relationship was in comics etc. I think it is underrated in certain media but in things like Teen Titans, there was no question about it; robstar was very much a thing and it you don’t agree or don’t like that then tough? Like it happened? Kicking and screaming at fans who do like the ship will change absolutely nada.

I certainly don’t think the ship is forced and people who feel that way needa let it go. Nothing is forced; in all comics and shows and movies, they imply it being a thing and slowly build up to it. That’s not forced so get the fuck over yourselves.

I say this because it isn’t the only fucking ship that “forces” or is complained of being “overrated”. I’ve seen plenty of fans say ones like DickB*bs is underrated and it’s like it’s really not tho? Like c’mon? The two main Dick Grays*n ships have always been B*bs and K*ry. Like simple.

My point here is, don’t be ignorant and say only dickkory or robstar fans do that. Don’t say we sit here moaning about when our ship doesn’t get appreciated or is downplayed because it does happen and it is treated poorly as a ship from time to time. Like all other ships too.

Every single ship has the down points. Every ship has the points where it doesn’t get much love or attention so you feel frustrated. Underrated, overrated; every ship has ups and downs of both. So, don’t act like it’s just the one because it’s not.

Also, don’t be twats and spreading shit about how dickkory and robstar fans are all evil, misguided, pieces of crap or any other adjective you wanna use. Some fans are douchebags, I love my fellow robstar fans but some can be dicks for literally no reason. But, don’t lump us all in one category.

There are some fans who just want to enjoy the fandom and their favourite ship in peace without people acting so damn childish about it.

I know. Shocking, isn’t it? *detect the sarcasm*

Just a word to the wise, if you feel like being an asshole and mistagging or shouting about how certain fans are horrid when they’re simply defending themselves or something akin to that. Don’t. Just don’t. You piss off a lot more people than you need to and it’s exasperating for everyone.

So, just don’t do it. ‘Kay?

It’s not difficult to be involved in a fandom without being vicious and rude and unpleasant. Like, it’s really not hard. Just be nice. Have civil conversations about ships. Like holy shit, it’s the simplest thing in the world.

And not to sound too much like an adult or something, but when you fight about ships etc... keep in mind... it’s all fictional. Like, I don’t mean to sound like a wet blanket but the things you’re fighting over are not real, in the big picture.

So is it really worth it?

Though, if you’re like me who just sighs and agrees and doesn’t understand why people can’t just play nice... terribly sorry for the scrollfest you’ll have to go through.
