your first thought being that you want to kill a real person who died fighting the nazis for having a “meaningless” death is absolutely batshit. you cannot be surprised people are not happy with you when that’s your opening musing. it’s outright disrespectful and even if you were joking…jokes are supposed to be funny.
i think i’ve already explained my stance here, but i guess i’ll use this ask to go over it civilly and with the detail that it deserves, since apparently we are making this into a big deal.
• this was not ever meant to be seen as my mota thesis. after watching the ep, i had already posted a long thread on twitter explaining my thoughts, as well as talked to my other friends who were watching the show and aired my grievances to them. that joke should not have been the first thing that i posted to tumblr, but in my mind, it was supplemental to the many thoughts that i’d already typed out and shared.
• i did not anticipate that post being seen by that many people outside of my small circle, many of whom had already heard my full thoughts on twitter & discord and wouldn’t have misconstrued my meaning and frustration with the show. as i’ve said since, #mota is my personal tag for the show, i didn’t think people were using it as a main tag and i would have never tagged it with that if i knew that people outside of my followers, and the niche that i’ve created on this blog, would see it.
• the joke itself is being misinterpreted entirely and i know it’s not like. funny, but my intention with it was never even to be disrespectful to the irl curtis biddick who i have no personal qualms with LMAO. it is not his fault that he died the way that he died, but it IS the show writer’s fault for not doing anything to make that death meaningful and impactful to the television series that is supposed to be entertaining. i misspoke when i said the the real life curt’s death was meaningless (obviously bombing the nazis is important) but i genuinely only said all of that to point out my own deranged frustration with barry’s role in the show. i don’t actually wish any harm to the real curtis biddick, the joke is supposed to be on me for being insane enough to want to warp time and space to create a better story for curtis because the mota writers in eighty years are not going to do him any favors when telling his story. which of course gives me more (& better) barry content. which is all i ever wanted from this fucking show.
• i made that post in a moment of frustration and my anger that should have gone toward the writers (and did in other forums) definitely hit the wrong target here. i understand why people are mad about it but i think it’s been such a disproportionate response to me making an unfunny joke in the tags of a post that was taken out of context and only my friends were supposed to see. if you don’t like what i’m posting then ignore it?? if you actually find it offensive, then tell me to my face so we can talk about it?? idk. dragging me thru the mud in front of ur followers is so weird !

i feel reallllllly bad abt this
so some backstory my bf plays a lot of military video games (war thunder esp thats his fave) and loves military boats and planes and wants to go into the military via an academy.
i have a complicated relationship w the military and military men. a lot of the men in my family (my grandfathers, uncles, cousins etc) were at one point in the military and it didnt go well for any of them. they all have major issues cause of their service. my grandfather developed a drinking problem after vietnam, my great uncle extreme PTSD after fighting in Iraq and all have or had been abandoned by the govt esp my uncles. so needless to say i have a weird relationship w the us govt and military systems.
so my bf wants to go into the military and while im well aware that high school sweethearts usually dont work out weve been dating for over 3 years straight and bros been talking abt marriage lately so i kinda have a feeling well last so his military dreams scare the SHIT out of me. not just the possibility of having him come back in a casket, or not coming back at all but him coming back so different, angry/violent or a drunk or an addict or sick or all of the above. i want him to be happy but i dont want him to come back blown to bits or missing limbs.
hes one of those people who wants to do it for the glory. the love of country the idea of coming back a hero. the way the current politics are going in america were probably gonna have a huge war soon maybe even on 2 fronts, WWIII. that scares me too just in general and add someone i love so much so far for so long going years w/o seeing him, sometimes not knowing if hes dead or alive. scares me but thats so selfish. thats my problem im so selfish about it. ive told him my concerns and it makes me feel like a bad person cause ik he wants this pretty bad tho he did say if he doesnt get into an academy he wont enlist hell go somewhere else for engineering and work for the govt that way. but i just feel so selfish. i want him to be happy but i also want him alive and safe.
also while im being honest here i really dont think hes military material. hes not very uh fit (i doubt hed pass the physical test), his grades r pretty average the academies r really hard to get into, hes EXTREMELY stubborn which the military would not at all approve of he only does one extracurricular, and he has some other problems i wont mention that wouldnt go well in the military. so his chances at an academy arent very high but just enough to scare me.
and i know its selfish which is why i feel so bad about it. its so complicated. on one hand i really dont want him to go and i just want him to consider the pros and cons, he has a very video game propaganda-y watered down "glory" view of the military that they can do no wrong and i know the other end the trauma, the abandonment, the fear, ive heard the stories the stories of men watching each other get blown up, watching civilians struggle to breathe cause of the chemicals we used, my grandfather had to watch his best friend get his legs blown off. the coming back different, changed and not for the better. sure the glorys nice the honor is amazing but at what cost? i have relatives who have purple hearts and were abandoned by the system that gave it to them. on the other hand tho i know its so selfish to not want him to follow what he wants to do. to tell him he shouldnt, that its a bad idea, that its not worth it, that the risk isnt worth the possible reward, to think abt how once u sign on that dotted line u cant quit till ur contract is up. im gonna follow my dreams of being an artist so why should i let him follow his?
i feel so conflicted abt it. i cant tell where the line between caring and selfishness is. i feel guilty and selfish and scared all at the same time. i hope and pray he changes his mind but i know i cant make him no matter how many times i not so subtly mention the possiblity of death, disability, PTSD the thousands of things that can go wrong. i feel so selfish but i cant help my fear. i think i care too much. thats my problem. i care too much abt his physical safety i overlook his happiness. i apologized to him abt my selfishness over this like a half hour ago and havent heard back.

TFATWS episode 1 rewatch commentary
The first scene was so beautiful. I loved that we didn't start directly with the fight sequence. It feels way closer to the quiet beginning of CATWS and I love it so much.
The title is also SO NEAT, music's on point too but hey it’s Henry Jackman the one thing I’m sure it’s going to be great overall is the score.
The choreography is AMAZING, really well shot. Sam shielding himself with only one wing was MA-JES-TIC.
“WHAT'S UP” EXACTLY SAM EXACTLY
I did feel so uncomfortable in regards to the military aspect of it. Not that I was expecting anything else, but both here and in Captain Marvel the military we're good guys < 3 propaganda is so blatant and ugh:/ At least there wasn’t a literal recruitment spot like with CM.
The yellow filter in the Tunisia scene BYE please stop with the yellow filters 2k21
"I've been working with the Air Force for six months now" So, did Sam even catch a break at all after Endgame? Or did he just throw himself to work like SOMEONE did after being iced for 70 years. Hmmm? Sam????
"Essentially, these people, they want a world that's unified without borders" OH NO! HOW AWFUL, how evil of these bad guys smh
Joaquin: SO about Steve
Sam: :)))))) nope
"Moon stuff" SAAAM
#1 cry with Sam's speech, full on chills.. Fuck. Me. His voice about to break before saying thank you bYE.
Shady politician: "It was the right decision" (FUCKKKKK YOUUU)
Rhodey: *press any key to doubt *
I need someone to analyze the different curation of the two exhibits pretty please
NOT THE PHOTO POST-AZZANO JFC. That photo is my weakness, Bucky sweetie (also I find hilarious that usually when there are articles about Stucky and/or #givecaptainamericaaboyfriend they aaaalways use that photo LMAO)
In case someone wants to read the transcription of the texts about Bucky: "In 1944, while on a mission to thwart a Hydra weapon transport in the Alps, Barnes was thrown from a train and believed to have been killed in action. It wasn't until 2014, over seventy years later, that it was revealed that Barnes was alive, having been found by Hydra operatives. Captain America himself (i can't read) the effort to bring Barnes in only to later aid in a escape from custody having been convinced of his innocence. Steve's loyalty to his old friend, coupled with his refusal to sign the Sokovia Accords, led to the dissolution of the Avengers and drove the Captain into hiding with other like-minded Avengers including Natasha Romanoff, Wanda Maximoff, and Sam Wilson. The current whereabouts of Barnes remains unknown, habing been labeled a fugitive following his escape from custody."
"current wherabout unknown" but not the government, interesting. Also, pretty good summary of CACW from the public's perspective, although one of the things I always wanted to see explored was the public's reaction of the fallout of them going into hiding after Civil War (which I'm hoping we'll get to see a little bit of in Black Widow).
Interesting point about the 70 years without having Captain America. Clearly the sacrifice play wasn't enough this time to fuel the nationalism so they went with a squeaky clean John Walker instead.
Sam saying the shield belongs to Steve I'm going to cry now excuse me. Sam. Sam sweetie.
The No. 1 Captain America comic in the display ugH fuck yes
See this is how you do a cameo that has actual meaning. Thank god for Malcolm Spellman being a competent writer. That scene was so well written.
HAVE YOU PRAISED ANTHONY MACKIE'S PERFORMANCE TODAY?? Holy shit that last shot fucked me up.
I'm loving the use of the wide shots, especially in the flashback. The camera movements are in synch with The Soldier's state of mind and mission focus, so good.
EVERYONE STAND UP FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM aka The Winter Soldier theme composed by Henry Jackman.
Without a doubt the most brutal TWS fight scene there has been, People involved in Punisher and John Wick are involved in this and it SHOWS.
For the record, still stands that the only time we've seen him chocking someone with his right hand instead of the metal arm remains the Maria Stark assasination. I know it's probably because of blocking and the way the shot was composed but the implications are still bone chilling. God.
Uhhmmmm I'm very ambivalent about the "Hail Hydra". On one hand, it was 100% fanservice and the internet is probably going to go insane over it, and the dead way Sebastian Stan delivered the line. Good shit. Buuut what I love about CATWS is the way Bucky never, ever ever, mouths Hydra rethoric, and even when Pierce tries to gaslight him with it, it's just an empty effort. The Winter Soldier isn't doing anything because of ideological loyalty to Hydra, even if it's product of brainwashing, it's just sheer dehumanization. They don’t need him to say the words because he’s just An Asset. There are people who have put it more eloquently but yeah, I rather go with the fanon interpretation of that aspect.
The music growing louder with the shot of the keys. GOD.
I'm fine this is fine.
#2 cry with the therapy scene of fucking course.
The government monitoring Bucky is noooot going to end well lmao.
"We need to know that you're not gonna * slowmo stabbing motions *
Bucky: * nodding along slowly *
I laughed out loud.
"It's passive agressive" I love him.
The way this scene just sucker punched me in the face, made me weep and then had me cracking up. Amazing.
Therapist: You can't do anything illegal
Bucky: yup yup check checkity check. What IS considered illegal tho?
*aggresive tablet finger pressing *
"Then why isn't it rule number one?" Bucky your Steve is showing.
I love the close up shot. I'll keep saying it. It's so good.
"I'm James Bucky Barnes" yeah you are🥺
That smile is nightmare fuel LMFAO I love it.
Uhm the way I'm kinning Bucky it's not funny anymore damn
That whole “are you lashing out at me” rambling is really reminiscent of the bar scene in CATFA and how he lashed out at Steve after Peggy left. Uhm yeah fuck.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT?" "Peace"
"That is UTTER BULLSHIT" "You're a terrible shrink"
yeah ugly crying to ugly laughing speedrun for me
"You're free" "To do what?" jesus. That entire scene. #3 and #4 and #5 cries for moi.
Ugh that Brooklyn shot. Someone needs to do a gifset compairing it to the one in CATFA asap.
"It's like Monique but it's got a "U" in there for uniqueness" "That's absurd" LMAO
"You can't keep fighting with your neighbors" uHM * redacted redacted i'm shifting into 1940s mode abort abort *
"Nobody passed 90" "So young. Such a shame" FGADHGA
🥺🥺 yes flex those flirting skills good for you
"It's a dance to this things. You can't… you gotta warm up and I haven't danced since 1943. Feels like." #6 cry I completely broke down into tears with that.
This Yori storyline is going to punch me in the face with a metal fist. Great!
The TWS theme when he looks at Yori fuuuuuck.
GREAT LET'S GO TO LOUISIANA THAT WAS GETTING HEAVY.
Those shots of Sam in the car. Immaculate. Showstoping. Yes.
Marvel, what if instead of promoting the military industrial complex you put a lot of publicity about cars?
"Uncle Sam!" LMAO subtle.
Everyone trying to have the wings lmao same.
I've only had Sarah for a day but etc. Brooklyn 99 meme
Good mirroring about Steve and Sam family's legacy. Good shit. Goooood shit.
Sam is trying so hard ouch my heart. I can't imagine how painful the scene with them reuniting must have been. He 100% still feels a lot of guilt about being gone for those 5 years (and even longer before that).
"Maybe it is time for us to move on" uuuuuuuuuuh
"To the rescue" "Always" 🥺🥺 i love them so much already
That shot outside the restaurant is so beautiful. Can't wait to see the night scenes in Madripoor tbh.
"I tried the whole online dating thing. It's pretty crazy". Uhm well that is something that Bucky Barnes has now said. In canon. Damn.
"It's a lot" "You sound like my dad" LMAO
Every Bucky fanfic trope speedrun with this scene
"Wow you really can drink" OH you have no idea
Just realized we don't even know her name, well.
"You have any siblings?" "I have a sister" THE WAY I SCREECHED. We're definitely getting Becca
Well that escalated quickly. The important thing is to try?
I can't deal with this BUCKY SWEETIE #8 cry right there fuck
The wardrobe department is KILLING IT, there's such a difference between the outfits of the shows vs how ugly and generic it usually is.
"ThEre is NO such thiNg as on time. You're either EARLY or LATE . picK One" lmao the way he delivered that line
At first I thought the flag smashers had thrown two cars out of a window LMAO
"I don't know how jurisdiction works here, but I'mma have to place you under arrest" uhm yikes. The way they changed Joaquín Torres backstory to just random army nice guy #1 is not sitting well with me, what can I say.
Sam's wings motions I LOVE HIM YOUR HONOR
Fuuuuck this guy.
"Funny how thing's always thighten around us" "Look, I'm on your side. After all, he's a hero". This script is C R I S P as hell, great fucking job.
"I don't care, I'm not gonna quit" "What are you trying to prove? And who you trying to prove it to" SHIT HSIT SHIT!!! UGH amazing. Look it's not necessary to say the show's questions out loud but how they flow between the conversations is still very satisfactory without feeling in your face about it. Inner conflicts have been set up fucking perfectly everyone * claps *
Ugh here we fucking go.  I knew this was how the episode was going to end but my stomach still dropped like a rollercoster. God.
The score is on point. Damn. Damn.
God, Sam.🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
The captain america franchise's visuals in the credits are always so amazing.
Also, does anybody know why Mackie isn't first in the billing?  Uhm what's that about?
ANYWAY CONCLUSION THAT EPISODE WAS SO FUCKING GOOD LIKE HOLY SHIT. I love them so much. The balance between the personal conflicts and the political aspect (although the military aspect is still very much yikes) was on point and it was overall a joy to watch.

2 questions (or so😬); 1) do you have headcanons of how will Jon and Danys love or romance story develop(if there is one)? Slow, over time? Or on the first sight, head over heels? One-sided, and later two-sider? Will both of them don't know(R+L=J) ? Or only Jon? How do you picture the angst between them? 2)when did Ben joined the NW and why? It's not like the NW went from a place or glory to a shit hole in a span of 15 years?! Like it's never mentioned what Ben did during the rebellion? Thx you
Wow! Thank you for all the asks! Sorry it took me so long to get to your beautiful questions. Oh you know I've got some Jon x Dany headcanons! *rubs hands together*
I believe it will be a slow burn that will resemble season seven in many ways (there's a reason season seven, for all its flaws, was still very highly rated as opposed to season eight - because while things like dialogue or timing suffered, the plot still felt like it was going in the right direction).
My prediction about Jon has always been that he'll be the *one* man who isn't impressed with Dany's beauty. Oh, he'll notice it all right, but he won't mention it or use it as a means to gain her favor with compliments. He's going to treat her as an equal right off the bat, and not as an object or a prize that he can win or woo. This is going to perplex Daenerys and probably intrigue her. They'll earn each other's respect based on merit, and I definitely predict some sort of innate bond between them because they're basically fated to meet.
Now, there's some speculation that because Jon died and is (most likely) coming back to life, we may never get another POV from him again. If that is the case (knock on wood) it will definitely appear very one-sided. I also have a headcanon that Jon absolutely resembles his true father in all but coloring, and that he's a total knockout - and we won't find that out until Daenerys sees him and we finally hear a proper description of his looks. (I also have a headcanon that Jon has his father's eyes - that everyone assumes they're grey but actually they're a dark indigo...) And in my dreams, Barristan Selmy is standing beside Daenerys on Dragonstone when Jon marches in and Ser Barristan sees something in Jon that strikes him as familiar... I would love it if, upon seeing Jon, it suddenly clicks for Barriston.
Angst between them, hmm. (f)Aegon is a bit of a curveball here. Either he's going to carry out his plan to try and wed his aunt and it could cause angst and make Jon realize he feels something more for Dany, or this will happen long before Jon is around - possibly as a ploy. Part of me suspects that if he took Tyrion's advice to heart about having a stronger claim than Dany, he might try to get rid of her or destroy her reputation somehow when she arrives to Westeros - and Jon might go to her once she's totally compromised and offer an alliance then.
I am more of a mystery theorist rather than someone who feels comfortable guessing at battle plans or strategies, I admit...
I do think that Jon's parentage will come out by some means or another, and that Daenerys will find out. I don't see this being a point of contention between them whatsoever, nor will the incest be a problem for Jon. In fact, I kind of see the pair of them teaming up to slay the mummer's dragon together. While the show really went hard with Targaryens being mad and evil, that is hardly the case for ASOIAF. This negative image of Targaryens comes mostly from, you betcha, the Lannisters (and Robert Baratheon). It was more or less a propaganda campaign that succeeded not only across Westeros, but apparently across the reader base who cannot read between the lines.
If it's true that Coldhands is not Benjen, then it could be Benjen or Howland who spill the beans, or perhaps confirm Ser Barristan's suspicion? (Assuming he doesn't die - but I really feel in my heart that he won't). I think Jon will have an identity crisis - not so much about being a Targaryen (I think he'll be proud of that honestly) but about not being Ned Stark's son as he was led to believe. I'd love for him, and the readers, to finally learn that his true father was a great man.
Now, speaking of Benjen... I believe he had a very heavy hand in what happened between Lyanna and Rhaegar. I believe he helped equip Lyanna with the mismatched armor needed for the tourney - and that he helped them, in some way, correspond in order to plan their elopement/abscondence.
During the rebellion, Benjen was the Stark in Winterfell - which I can only imagine how that empty castle haunted him during that period. Following news of his sister's death, I'd be willing to bet Benjen was utterly overcome with guilt. And for as close as Ned and Lyanna were, I believe Benjen was even closer to her. His joining the Night's Watch reads almost like a self-inflicted punishment/imprisonment, or... maybe... it wasn't that at all. His decision to join the ranks of a military order full of Targaryen supporters beyond the reach of Robert Baratheon might be a strategic one.
Benjen isn't stupid. He has to know who Jon is, right? I suspect he was even in on the prophecy that Rhaegar was into about TPTWP. So, Ned is keeping Jon safe, but Benjen might just be securing his future (or was, until his disappearance threw the plan into jeopardy).
Now... I have another little theory everyone is going to hate. But bear with me.
The Mormonts. They're a relatively small house sworn to Stark, in the middle of fucking nowhere. And by that I mean they're on small Bear Island surrounded by water - it's real out of the way from just about any and everything. They are described as poor.
So, how the hell does this small, obscure house manage to be one of the few with a Valyrian sword? Was it really written that way just so that Jon could inherit it? That seems a bit too convenient for GRRM's standards, doesn't it?
Presumably, sometime before Robert's Rebellion (though no one knows for sure), Jeor Mormont joined the Night's Watch and quickly moved through the ranks, securing Lord Commander status. Benjen Stark becomes First Ranger. Two of the most powerful positions. And Bear Island went to Jeor's son, Jorah Mormont, along with Longclaw.
What happens with Jorah, exactly? He's caught selling poachers to slavers. Poachers. On Bear Island...?
For this disgrace, Jorah Mormont fled to the Free Cities. In the books, it says during this time Jorah fights the Braavosi, but in the show, he admits to having been part of the Golden Company (this might be important considering GRRM was pretty involved in season one and writing it).
I know the story goes that the sword has been with the family for five-hundred years. But a theme in these books is that history doesn't quite add up, and I can't help but notice that while the Starks' sword Ice dates back four-hundred years, around the time of the Doom of Valyria/when the Targaryens landed in Westeros, the Mormont sword allegedly goes back a hundred years further? Curious.
The original pommel, according to Jeor, was worn and indistinguishable - which seems strange for a Valyrian steel sword. Either way, this is a hint that pommels can be swapped out.
Much like Jon, Longclaw might also have a secret Targaryen identity: Blackfyre.
I'd love to see Jon and Dany square off against (f)Aegon - Dany with her dragons and Jon wielding Blackfyre. It's absurd headcanon for me that Jon obtaining and wielding this sword will inspire the Golden Company in some way and get them to change allegiance. How? I think we're missing plenty of details but if anyone knows the fate of Blackfyre better than we do, it's the Golden Company, and if Jorah did work for them or fight against them, then his presence alongside Jon/Dany might prove the swords are one and the same.
How perfect would it be for Jon to wield the very same sword as his idol, the Young Dragon? *dreamy sigh*
Anyway. If you're following me this far, it's also curious that Jorah goes on to find and protect Daenerys, eh? Meanwhile, when Jon expresses interest in joining the Night's Watch, Benjen says this:
"Until you have known a woman, you cannot understand what you would be giving up."
"I don't care about that!" Jon said hotly.
"You might, if you knew what it meant," Benjen said. "If you knew what the oath would cost you, you might be less eager to pay the price, son."
It's just all very curious to me. And maybe we'll never get answers where Benjen is concerned, just like we'll never know exactly what Rhaegar's plan was, either. But imagining these grand schemes going on in the background make the story so much more interesting to me because I'm a dreamer, what can I say?
Thanks for the asks, they were a great way to get my mind off of paranoia for a while lol ♥

somebody just submitted this into my inbox and im wheezing omfg
If you can still give Gal Gaddot dignity and acknowledge her humanity even when she doesn’t care about the lives of thousands of Palestinian people under military brutality and war crimes, also partook in idf, then WHY can’t you do the same for Sia’s autism misrep scandal and the rest of them? WHY?! They probably feel the same as Gal when you fling them poop too! So cut this selective “teaching a lesson to”?! Leave all alone or call all out, don’t be a double standard shitfuck!
Look, don’t throw literal shit at Gal G-dot, but don’t deny her slipups and crimes too! #FreePalestine 🇵🇸
Come on, it is obviously known she did:
- Serve in the IDF during the 2006 Lebanon fiasco
- Expressed her support and praise IDF from time to time even after her mandatory service, her most famous one being the 2014 Gaza bombings which lost 4 boys. Even Holocaust survivors in the Haaretz spoke out against that incident saying it’s gone too far. Never apologized or retracted that. That specific FB post also still up.
- Allegedly responded poorly to a former friend’s r*pe and blamed the friend while defending the perpetrator
- Talks about her military service with pride and “how it has helped her play WW” despite simps’ claims that she hated IDF but was forced to do that
- Subtly mass stereotype all Palestinians and MENA Muslims as ‘terrorists’ and ‘inferior stock’ in her community. Have you seen WW84’s hateful writing?
Why people don’t care about Palestinians or military brutality war crimes in this case:
- “Gal is too hot and cute!!!12!! I’m gay for her!!!11!!”
- Gotten too attached to her thru watching her “relatable moments” and funny or sweet-presenting propaganda where she “being herself”…'psycho’ actresses sure can mask well, can’t they?
- Tried to hamster away her exact words by claiming she sorta apologized in some other way or “said something to counter that!!11!!1”. She only stood up for Arabs with Israeli citzenship ONLY, still not the Palestinian neighbours so simps stop bluffing! And saying “peeaceeee” multiple times is so vague. Does that word to Gal imply taking Palestine land and genociding the children?!
- pull the “Palestine is not oppressed” card. But when you just attack neutral run-of-the-mill Palestinian citizens and families and prevent vaccine supplies from them and go beyond apartheid, you know you’ve crossed some serious lines and can conclude Palestine is oppressed too.
- feel sympathy for her even though they hypocritically say “you shouldn’t feel sympathy for supremacists or terfs or military bootlickers!!!11!!“
- they have become stupid simps for her
All while no problem attacking and cancelling other people like Sia, Gina, Letitia Wright - NOT defending or condoning their deeds too but Gal is in such a similar boat don’t excuse it. At least Sia never was a sergeant or cheered on the bombing of a certain area
How do you scrub this kind of idiotic self-righteous hypocrisy and pious smugness?!?! If you can still give Gal dignity and acknowledge her humanity even with blood on her hands and beliefs, then WHY can’t you do the same for the rest of them? WHY?! They probably feel the same as Gal when you fling them poop too! So cut this selective "teaching a lesson to”?! Leave all alone or call all out, don’t be a double standard shitfuck! And Maddie Ziegler supports Sia but that does not mean she is defending the movie, she was just doing interviews!
Edit: Admit that the USA’s coverups and censorship of Gal’s pro-idf and borderline supremacist views also helped some!
You know America is all about stanning Israel and military, same with their allies, so obviously not letting too many know about Gal’s statements and putting out good propaganda of her to cover it would boost.
When US wants her as a token, they will have her as a token.
Edit 2: Just to be clear, Israel can have their areas but let Palestinians have some land too. And don’t go genocidal on them for it
Okay sis first of all I haven’t even seen Wonder Woman, if I simped for Gal Gadot some years ago it is because I am a wlw and was not aware of what she stands for. I’ve had this blog for over 10 fucking years of my life, starting when I was 15. I simped for a lot of bad people and I probably used the n-word, the r-word and a bunch of shit I’m not proud of. This blog is a personal journal to me, something I’ve used to grow in years which were really hard in my life, and I’ve probably posted a bunch of shit that should have never been posted. If I’ve ever defended Gal Gadot, among the 30,000 posts I posted on this blog in the past, then I admit, I was wrong.
But you literally coming here writing me this essay, it’s hysterical to me that you took your time to write this all out. Obviously you have some frustrations in your life that makes you write this shit, I know that all my frustrated posts on this page at celebrities, billionaires, etc, all come from simple life frustrations and I come here to vent. I post my posts as if nobody was ever gonna read them because I’m a nobody on this site, and nobody in life in terms of reach. It’s funny to me that you decided to equate some post I made years ago (how did you even find those??? i have literal 1000s of pages on my tumblr) with what I say about Sia. Autism happens to be very personal to me. And although I feel very strongly about what’s going on in Palestine and support the Palestinians (which I also posted about in the past, I’m pretty sure I also reblogged shit about Gal Gadot you mention but I guess you haven’t found those posts on my blog), I do not have as much of a personal connection to it, so I don’t post about it as much. And I’m still bewildered, where did I say I like Gal Gadot??? Last I recall I posted about Gal Gadot organizing this fucking disaster of a pandemic celebrity song contest.
But anyway, all this being said, you literally cannot come to people and bash them for not being ideologically pure. I’m 26 so I don’t give two shits about what you think of me, but there are teenagers on this site that really take this stuff personally. That get anxious about not being the perfect humans, invested in all issues at once. Everyone fights their own battles, sis. We can’t all support all causes at once. I will never support Israel but I can’t single handedly change the situation of the Palestinians, and especially not through a fucking tumblr post. So while I’m gonna post this, because maybe some people want to get educated about what goes on, why don’t we just quit making people feel guilty for not being aware about every single bad thing any celebrity did at all times? Like, I think the volunteer work I do with refugees in my country in real life helps much more than bashing celebrities online about their ideology on a blog nobody is ever gonna look at twice.
Maybe I’m too old and this is just a troll but it’s pretty incredible to me that you come into my inbox calling me all kinda shit. If you’re having a bad day, a frustrating time in the pandemic, sorry sis. Me too. Hope this venting helped you.
Yours truly,
Double Standards Shitfuck <3

June 5, 2020 (Friday)
Today marks the end of a momentous week in American history.
The president has not changed over the course of the week: he is still dismantling checks and balances in favor of his own power. With the help of Attorney General William Barr, he has taken control of the law enforcement teams that make up about 132,000 federal law enforcement officers and, taking advantage of the fact that Washington, D. C., is not a state, has turned nearly 3000 members of those forces loose on the protesters in the capital to join the 4000 others there from different forces. About half of the federal officers come from the FBI, ATF, Secret Service, DEA, and CBP; others come from 80 other, smaller, forces, and answer to the executive branch of the government.
While we have all been paying attention to the crisis in the streets of Washington, D.C., Trump yesterday signed an executive order permitting government agencies to waive environmental laws in order to speed up approval for development, citing an economic “emergency” caused by the pandemic. This follows an executive order from two weeks ago, telling agencies they can simply ignore regulations they believe burden the economy. His executive orders override Congressional legislation, and will likely not stand in court, but for now, anyway, reinforce his emphasis on turning the country over to businessmen. “This is a huge win for pro-growth policies,” said David McIntosh, president of the anti-regulation Club for Growth.
That focus on the economy showed as well today in Trump’s triumphant focus on a better jobs report for May than economists had expected. The report showed an unemployment rate of 13.3%, although it had been expected to come in about six points higher. Even with those gains, the US has one of the highest unemployment rates in the world, according to Josh Lipsky of the Atlantic Council. And there is a problem with the report’s numbers, noted on the report itself. Because there was a “misclassification error”—people furloughed because of the pandemic did not get counted as unemployed-- the numbers are about 3 percentage points low, putting the real unemployment rate at about 16.3%.
Still, in his meandering speech about the numbers, Trump reiterated that a strong economy was key to equality in America. He then talked about the protests and said that Black Americans must get fair treatment from law enforcement. He said, “Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying, “This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.” This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody. This is a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality. It’s really what our Constitution requires and it’s what our country is all about.”
Trump’s key supporters in Congress haven’t changed: they are still using governmental machinery to smear Trump’s opponents. The Senate Judiciary Committee has launched a probe into the origins of the Russia investigation, and yesterday, Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sought to get authorization for subpoenas for more than 50 individuals. Graham is up for election and, with challenger Jaime Harrison collecting more campaign money than Graham, is looking to solidify his standing with Trump’s base.
Graham was forced to postpone the vote, though, after a fight broke out. Senator Ben Sasse (R-Neb) called out the hearings for the campaign propaganda they are. "Can we get a sense of how long we're going to be here? ... With all due respect, I don't think anybody in private ever disagrees with me when I say that it's bullshit the way people grandstand for cameras in here. The reality is if we didn’t have cameras in this room, the discussion would be different,” he said.
The Chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Ron Johnson (R-WI) had better luck: he got the subpoena power he wanted for his version of the same investigation. (Johnson is one of the Republican lawmakers who spent July 4, 2018 in Russia.)
Trump’s key supporters on the ground haven’t changed: they continue to support the president and the use of force against protesters. After two Buffalo, New York police officers on the force’s emergency response team were suspended for pushing a 75-year-old man backward onto a sidewalk, where he hit his head and lay bleeding and unconscious as they walked on by, 57 of their colleagues resigned from the team (although not from the force, where they remain employed). They resigned “in disgust because of the treatment of two of their members, who were simply executing orders,” said John Evans, the president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association.
The National Guard troops in Washington appear all to have been sent by Republican governors: Utah, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Maryland, and Florida. Governors in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia—all Democrats-- have refused to send troops.
What has changed this week is that there are critical numbers of Americans, including those who control the military, publicly rejecting Trump and his version of America.
Crucially, the week saw military leaders taking a firm stand that they would not permit military personnel to be used against Americans. This is a huge deal, putting to rest any thought that Trump could rally the military to his standard. Over the course of the week, more and more former officers declared their support for equal rights and the Constitution, to which they swore an oath, and opposed Trump’s suggestion that he would call soldiers to put down protesters. Today, 89 former defense officials added their voices with an op-ed in the Washington Post echoing their colleagues, but going further to note: “We are alarmed at how the president is betraying” his oath to the Constitution.
Without consulting the president, the Pentagon today disarmed the federalized National Guard troops in Washington and sent back to their bases the regular troops that had been moved to the city.
Today, the Marines directed their corps commanders to “identify, and remove the display of the Confederate battle flag or its depiction within work places, common-access areas, and public areas on their installations.” The order is to “support our core values, ensure unit cohesion and security, and preserve good order and discipline.”
Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser ended the state of emergency in the city and formally asked Trump to withdraw all extraordinary federal law enforcement and military presence from Washington, D.C.
In Denver, a federal court issued a restraining order against Denver Police prohibiting them from using chemicals and projectiles against peaceful protesters.
A poll from early this week found that 64% of American adults were “sympathetic to people who are out protesting right now,” while 27% said they disapproved, and 9% said they weren’t sure what they thought.
For ten days, now, Americans have filled the streets of cities and towns across the country, their anger over the death of George Floyd under the knee of a casual murderer in a blue uniform growing into a larger rejection of an America where white and might make right.
Today, Trump visited the state of Maine, where he was greeted with a message from the editorial board of the Portland Press Herald. The headline read: “To President Trump: You should resign now.”

I’m doing two, because I can.
Ancient Historical meme from my drafts;
First things first: What’s their name and when and where did they live? If there are any/ you have one, add your favourite picture of them.
Erwin Johannes Eugene Rommel (1891-1944), Germany, lived around Württemberg for most of his life, the occasional world war aside. Of historical note for being a masterful tactician, writing an important book of military theory about wwi and commanding the german forces in the north african campaign of wwii.
Napoleon (1769-1821), France technically but had a great deal of fun on camping trips all over Europe. Of historical note for one-uping Alexander the Great. Created landmark legal, military and social organizations. List of fuckups is longer than most people’s list of accomplishments. One of the most enduring military and political legends of the modern era. Bees.
1. How and when did you first hear about them?
Rommel- I honestly can’t remember. My father is a wwii nut so i was raised on the stuff. I got serious in my interest of him about 12/13 when I first read the collection of his papers translated into English.
Napoleon- fourth grade (about ten years old). We had a section of world history, dismal though it was. In one of the little “fun facts” thing they had a tiny little box describing Nap’s return from Elba with an itty-bitty reproduction of Steben’s Returned From Elba. I thought that sounded like the most badass thing I had ever heard, and was also a little in disbelief because surely someone can’t just walk back and reclaim their kingdom. Like, that shit didn’t happen in real life. So I bought my first biography to find out the real story.
2. What do you like most about them?
Rommel
he tempered his ambition and leadership with compassion and a fierce sense of honor
genuinely seems to have been a nice dude
he and his wife are cute as fuck
was later cute as fuck about his son Manfred
was incredibly clever
was a peach eating lunatic adventurer masquerading as a srs prussian soldier
he was a romantic both in the age of chivalry sense and the modern sense
Napoleon
SUCH A BADASS, oh my god
was an over-invested mono-maniac at all times, which I can related to
incredibly capable in many fields
i have been napoleon and josephine trash since day one
crowning himself. i just love that moment.
was really smart. on a ‘holy shit’ level. (even if he did some massively stupid shit sometimes)
meritocratic promotion structures
hamilton WISHES he were this non-stop.
never gave up, never gave in. even on st. helena he started dedicated his energies to preserving his legend and legacy, to great effect.
3. Is there anything about them that makes you angry or that you don’t like at all?
Rommel
literally worked for nazis
pretty sexist
there’s a lot i disagree with him about, but very few things that make me truly pissed off. ie he was of the period opinion that military men shouldn’t be involved in politics, as he thought that would mean the military as an organization would start defining germany’s political future which would turn into military rule and he was catagorically against that. which i think is both wrong and allowed him, and others in the german army, to disclaim responsibility for political shit they didn’t agree with that was being done by their government. but i can absolutely see where he was coming from, and i think his concerns were reasonable and legitimate.
so yeah. a lot of disagreements, but very few things that just piss me off.
Napoleon
w h e r e   d o   I   b e g i n
allowed his obsession with legend and conquest overwhelm his moral values
sold his honor and his moral principles in order to maintain power
frequently only took into account the human cost of warfare way too fucking late
rampant misogyny
really fucked over Junot
really fucked over tons and tons of people who were loyal to him, from close friends to the soldiers who followed him
got a truly staggering number of people killed on account of his own short-sighted obsessions
to paraphrase the old tv show Wiseguy, You don’t get to shove people around just because your fire burns brighter, no matter how brilliant that fire is.
never gave up, never gave in. even when he fucking should have, looking at you reasonable peace terms of 1813.
4. If you had one day with them in our present time - what would you do together?
Rommel - Aviation museum, he’d absolutely love it. I’d get him to pick some German place to eat and interrogate him ruthlessly about what inter-war rural Germany was like.
Napoleon- Smack him repeatedly in the face for invading Spain  Walk and talk. Have him show me around Paris and have a debate over legal systems. Nerd out over Ossain. Show him a modern bookstore. Let him see how much of his work has survived into the present day. Shove him into at least one shrubbery.
5. What would you like to talk about with them?
Rommel - Engineering, aviation, dogs and funny army stories
Napoleon- All of the things. I can only imagine the conversation would be a pinball game of madness as to topics covered. And okay. I’d have to ask about Waterloo. I’d be that person. I don’t think he’d do it, but I’d love to hear him talk about Corsica.
6. In which way do you identify most with them or a figure they created?
Rommel - He was an intensely practical man who tried very hard to do the right thing and frequently failed. I hope that one day I’ll have the strength of character to try to rectify my mistakes as he did his.
Napoleon - I too am an over-invested, bossy weirdo.
7. Thoughts about their death? E.g.:Was it too early, was it deserved, woud you have tried to prevent it and how?
Rommel- oh god TOO EARLY, UNDESERVED, that poor brave bastard. I mean the fact that he was murdered because of his role in a plot to overthrow hitler and make peace with the allies is reason enough. would have definitely tried to prevent it, but would need like. the a-team to stop it. because you’d have to rescue not only rommel but his family that was being used as leverage against him. unless you’re allowed to go really far back and then i’d just start slapping the shit out of everyone at the versailles peace conference.
Napoleon - hoooo boy. uuuuuuuh. i mean. do i like it how he died? no. does that dislike come from a rational place? ...nooo. best case scenario for me would be he gets shot before the last charge of waterloo. hell if i had my way i’d go back and convince him what REALLY needed done was him personally leading the imperial guard up the hill. heroic, dramatic death and historians get to fight over wellsley actually beat napoleon for the rest of forever. europe also gets a break from napoleonic insanity. which doesn’t happen if napoleon gets to live. once more if you’re allowed further back, i slap the shit out of him before he invades Spain and point out that Ireland is lovely this time of year (it’d still be a clusterfuck, but less of one).
8. Is there a book or movie etc. you would recommend to someone who’s new to the person and would like to learn more about them?
Rommel - The Rommel Papers is a good place to start, there are frequent letters to his wife but the content is primarily military.
Napoleon - Shannon Selin’s website and book. The book is fiction but she is the lord our god in this fandom for her mad research skills. She provides sources for everything, which makes her the perfect jumping off point. (Now if I can just convince her that what she REALLY needs to do is write another book starring josephine)
9. What can we learn from them?
Rommel - when in doubt, bluff like a motherfucker right action is not a mystical, obvious thing at all times, we must do what we believe is right to the best of our abilities while being willing to let compassion guide us onto different paths.
Napoleon -
human beings are capable of astonishing intellectual and physical feats, and the best of our stories can still be written, they are not confined to antiquity.
find friends who will support your goals and then listen to their good advice even when it challenges your ego.
if loud, bossy weirdos can find devoted friends and romantic partners than we’ve got a pretty good shot too.
don’t invade spain
propaganda is half the battle
love, in all its forms, is a resilient motherfucker
don’t interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake
strive to be so badass that hundreds of years later, the historical fiction that is all about fighting you has their characters become complete fanboys any time you actually show up (ft. Richard Sharpe in Down With The Tyrant But OMG Harper Look It’s Napoleon *SWOON*, hon. mention also goes to William “Why Aren’t I French” Laurence).
a willingness to take charge is half the battle for power
bees are a cute fashion accessory and go with anything
10. Would you want to be friends with them if they were still alive?
Rommel - I think he’d be a good Dad Friend to have. Someone to ask for advice and go to reenactments with. A good person for moral/personal advice even if their political/social views are outdated. Definite bonding over dogs.
Napoleon - Would entirely depend on how we met. I feel like we’re similar enough on a personal level that it’d be very easy for our personalities to clash, and we’d have to declare ourselves mortal enemies and neither of us would back down from that because what is admitting you might have been hasty. Or, if fate were kind, we’d get on splendidly with constant low levels of dry sarcasm and prank wars. There would also be lots of emotions everywhere, at all times. People would hide. I have to admit I’d still stab somebody if it meant I got to be a Marshal.
11. The most powerful quote by or about them?
Rommel - have  short one and a long one
"We have a very daring and skillful opponent against us, and, may I say across the havoc of war, a great general."
- Winston Churchill during 1942. During the fucking war. I mean damn, it doesn’t get better. Though since this is easily the most famous quote about him, have a personal favorite;
“Living legends, they project, each in his way, the classic image of a the warrior: brave, vigorous, sharp of eye and mind, rapid in decision, alert in danger, faster and bolder in the fight than his enemies. of this extraordinary brotherhood is Rommel-the brotherhood of Hector, of Rupert of the Rhine, of those who can only be described as heroes; and it is curious that so determinedly practical a modernist as Rommel-the least fanciful of men- should have joined a company so bonded by myth.”
-David Fraser from Knight’s Cross: A Live of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel
Napoleon -
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others
i mean;
History is a set of lies agreed upon.
- Napoleon at some point, i’m not sure. But i’ve always loved it and found it apt.

My Journey Out of Falun Gong via /r/atheism
Submitted August 04, 2020 at 02:35PM by TheNZThrower (Via reddit https://ift.tt/3kc5Z3a) My Journey Out of Falun Gong
FYI: Falun Gong is a religion/cult with some weird teachings (e.g. science and race mixing are alien plots to replace humans) that is persecuted and suppressed by the Chinese Government. Their leader is called Li Hongzhi. They're behind the theatrical dance group Shen Yun and the pro-Trump newspaper The Epoch Times. Here's one of Li's lectures to get an idea of his insanity: https://en.falundafa.org/eng/lectures/19980904L.html
Hello everyone! I am a former follower who has recently left about nine months ago cause by me leaving Mum in Sydney for Dad in Perth. I'll try to be as unbiased as I possibly can throughout my summary, here we go.
My Mum joined the practice after she gave birth to my younger sister in 2006, and she told me that when she read ZFL, she saw that the characters or swastika symbols or faluns (don't quite remember) started to spin in front of her eyes. It was around then, when I was only six, that the indoctrination started. My mum interrupted any educational videos (in Chinese) I was digesting whenever they started to talk about Evolution by natural selection to lecture me on how it was the 'gods' who directly created us. It was then that she started to expose me to numerous FLG propaganda films like one about a certain practitioner being persecuted to death by the CCP. I was also exposed to The Nine Commentaries later on, and that fueled my paranoia with anything 'Communist'.
My Mum and Dad would frequently have conflicts over her practice, with my dad often getting angry whenever she started to chat with other practitioners and going to Mum's room to demand that she be quiet. He also frequently destroyed the scriptures, leaflets and other FLG paraphernalia she had. This has unfortunately led me to develop a fear towards my dad. This ended in my Mum separating with and divorcing my dad and I went with her. She moved to Sydney owing to better opportunities, a larger base of practitioners and due to my Dad visiting her (for the sake of seeing and interacting with my Sis, whom he loves) without her permission and I went with her.
One of the factors in helping me break away from Falun Gong is me developing a desire for debunking conspiracy theories thanks to the discovery of the skeptic community. What fueled this was due to me hearing of all the bad news by conspiracy believers (a la Naturalnews) about the US government coupled with their promotion of 9/11 trutherism, water fluoridation conspiracies and others. This combined with my blind support of the US implanted by Mum (which still makes it hard for me to come to terms with some of the shady shit the US has done or is up to) lead me to adopt an anti conspiratorial stance, especially in regards to western governments. It is through the skeptical community that I have learnt to not trust anecdotes, what logical fallacies are and how to spot them, and about the teachings of Li on race mixing. His race mixing teachings really shocked me when I first learnt about them before reading up on them. This also lead me to become somewhat skeptical of what FLG was teaching about Communism. Another thing that lead me a path out of Homophobia was me getting pissed at another student at my school calling me gay, and the school counselor coming to reassure me that there ain't nothing wrong with being gay.
After moving to Sydney was when I started to question some of the key tenets of FLG like their narrative on the whole 2001 Tiananmen self immolation incident. The questioning then was still half hearted owing to the deep seated fears of overturning everything that I believed in. This half hearted skepticism even seeped into my analysis of The Nine Commentaries. Around this time was when I began to develop intrusive thoughts regarding Pedophilia and I even thought that seeing children was beginning to make my you know what tingle. This is what led me to spiral back into FLG after my brief stint of skepticism due to desperation that this is uncurable, as well as my mind associating such thoughts and urges with sexual orientation in that it might be genetic and innate, that I didn't choose it and that it would be a forever defining part of me.
However, the decisive factor in turning me against FLG was when mum watched a conservative 'documentary' called 'Agenda: Grinding America Down' which explicitly pushed climate change denial that made me aware of just how far down the rabbit hole she was going. I was aware of climate denialists and their argument as well as the counter-arguments to a certain degree, but not very well versed in them. I also recall something along the lines of Li sending some message to practitioners suggesting they watch this 'doco', but I'm not certain in that regard so take this with a grain of salt. I suppressed questions regarding this (and other topics e.g. Feminism and homosexuality) for a while before coming out to my Mum about them as well as occasionally responding whenever she started shit talking atheists and atheism. This is around the point when my relations with her broke down.
I also proceeded to discover the sequel to The Nine Commentaries called 'How the Spectre of Communism is Ruling Our World'. I also discovered its promotion of climate change denial as well as trying to smear other social movements (e.g. LGBT rights, civil rights, feminism) by tenuously linking them to the Commies using numerous logical fallacies. This lead to further conflict between me and Mum, leading to her trying to read the chapter promoting climate denial to me, which lead to even more conflict and her further spiraling down that rabbit hole. Part of this is my fault due to my confrontational attitude towards her as well as my personal insecurities about the correctness of climate science due to my lack of knowledge about it. Me telling her of Trump's transgender military ban further deteriorated my relationship with her, as well as his environmental and border policies. This deterioration of my mental state impaired my school performance. This also eventually lead to two hospitalisations: once due to me getting so out of control at school that they called my Mum and I proceeded to flip her off with both hands and call her out on Shen Yun, the second time being me making a mess of the room with her FLG scriptures after realising that the ancient Chinese didn't have much beef with being gay. This led me to take medication to control my outbursts. Around this time was when I started to see organisations like Headspace and Beyond Blue for counselling. Another incident occurred when I started grabbing a broken vacuum cleaner outside the house and smashed it into the grass due to the cognitive dissonance regarding Environmentalism and Communism as an attempt to vent out my frustration in fighting against my programming. This lead to my mum growing understandably concerned and then telling me to repeat 'environmentalism is communism' ad nauseam until I calm down. That's her way of getting me to calm down and remove any intrusive thoughts of mine; through repeating FLG soundbites (e.g. X is an alien invention) or through getting me to read FLG material ad nauseam until they're gone. Part of the reason why is due to her thinking that there exists no other viable option to remove them permanently due to her indoctrination.
Eventually, my relationship with my Mum deteriorated so bad that she decided to send me back to Dad after graduating high school. So that is how I ended up with him again. All this still occupies my mind a lot and still deeply affects me. I currently still have numerous violent thoughts on harming my Mum and other FLGers severely through torturous means. I also have numerous violent thoughts on Li as well. My Mum's statements and the views of Li still frequently replay over and over in the back of my head. It is still the case that whenever I at the very least somewhat adopt a mindset blindly accepting of 'master's' teachings and political views, I am able to have proper bowel movements, and am able to perform the tasks and hobbies I like to a proficient degree. As soon as I develop a logical approach to any of the beliefs of Falun Gong, I am unable to pass bowel movements due to a mental block, nor am I able to proficiently do the stuff I like. In addition, I have a tendency to block out any conflicting information whenever I try to fact check claims surrounding Falun Gong or Trump or whatever, especially if they lead to my anger towards Mum and subsequent fantasies of violence despite no loaded language or even implicit encouragement of violence in any of the information critical of religion, Falun Gong and Trump. I also still respond to Mum's statements in my head rather violently (e.g. responding with utterings of 'I'll kill you'). However, some progress is being made in my journey towards critical thinking (e.g. reading the books of Richard Dawkins as well as The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe). I still have minimal contact with my Mum, and she still tries to help me with managing myself independently, and I still occasionally contact her specifically for talking with my Sis. I never mention the topic of FLG with her since I left.
That's my journey so far, and any help would be appreciated. Of course this all is just a basic summary so some details are vastly simplified for brevity.

58,000 non-citizens voted in Texas, with 95,000 non-citizens registered to vote. These numbers are just the tip of the iceberg. All over the country, especially in California, voter fraud is rampant. Must be stopped. Strong voter ID! @foxandfriends
We are not even into February and the cost of illegal immigration so far this year is $18,959,495,168. Cost Friday was $603,331,392. There are at least 25,772,342 illegal aliens, not the 11,000,000 that have been reported for years, in our Country. So ridiculous! DHS
Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, just stated that because of me NATO has been able to raise far more money than ever before from its members after many years of decline. It’s called burden sharing. Also, more united. Dems & Fake News like to portray the opposite!
(Retweeting ChatByCC) Strong people stand up for themselves—but stronger people stand up for others. Thank you President @realDonaldTrump for standing up for America.
Thank you to Brit. This is a very big deal in Europe. Fake News is the Enemy of the People!
(Retweeting Ken Paxton) VOTER FRAUD ALERT: The @TXsecofstate discovered approx 95,000 individuals identified by DPS as non-U.S. citizens have a matching voter registration record in TX, approx 58,000 of whom have voted in TX elections. Any illegal vote deprives Americans of their voice.
(Retweeting The GOP) “300 people are dying from heroin overdoses a week in this country, 90% of it is coming over the southern border… We’ve got to stop it.”—@KellyannePolls
#HolocaustMemorialDay
BUILD A WALL & CRIME WILL FALL!
Never thought I’d say this but I think @johnrobertsFox and @GillianHTurner @FoxNews have even less understanding of the Wall negotiations than the folks at FAKE NEWS CNN & NBC! Look to final results! Don’t know how my poll numbers are so good, especially up 19% with Hispanics?
After all that I have done for the Military, our great Veterans, Judges (99), Justices (2), Tax & Regulation Cuts, the Economy, Energy, Trade & MUCH MORE, does anybody really think I won’t build the WALL? Done more in first two years than any President! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Numerous states introducing Bible Literacy classes, giving students the option of studying the Bible. Starting to make a turn back? Great!
Howard Schultz doesn’t have the “guts” to run for President! Watched him on @60Minutes last night and I agree with him that he is not the “smartest person.” Besides, America already has that! I only hope that Starbucks is still paying me their rent in Trump Tower!
“In the Media’s effort to destroy the President, they are actually destroying themselves. Given all of the tremendous headwinds this President has faced, it’s amazing he has accomplished so much.” DEROY MURDOCK @foxandfriends I agree!
In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest ever recorded. In coming days, expected to get even colder. People can’t last outside even for minutes. What the hell is going on with Global Waming? Please come back fast, we need you!
How does Da Nang Dick (Blumenthal) serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee when he defrauded the American people about his so called War Hero status in Vietnam, only to later admit, with tears pouring down his face, that he was never in Vietnam. An embarrassment to our Country!

Very sadly, Murder cases in Mexico in 2018 rose 33% from 2017, to 33,341. This is a big contributor to the Humanitarian Crisis taking place on our Southern Border and then spreading throughout our Country. Worse even than Afghanistan. Much caused by DRUGS. Wall is being built!

Portman Delivers Remarks at Atlantic Council on Threat of Russian Disinformation
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) delivered remarks at the Atlantic Council on the threat of Russian influence in Europe, the next frontier in digital disinformation, and how to strike back. The event is part of #DisinfoWeek, a week long set of strategic dialogues on how to collectively address the global challenge of disinformation.
Portman has been a leader on the need for greater U.S. efforts counter foreign disinformation and propaganda. In 2016, Portman introduced the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act with U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), which was later incorporated into the FY 2017 National Defense Authorization Act. The Atlantic Council hosted the public launch of the bill.  Now law, the bill is designed to help American allies counter foreign government propaganda from Russia, China, and other nations. Earlier this year, Portman delivered remarks at an Atlantic Council conference on “Ukraine: Progress, Challenges, and Opportunities” where he highlighted the steps the United States should take to better support Ukraine against Russian aggression, including its extensive disinformation and propaganda campaigns. Portman’s priorities to codify Russia sanctions into law also passed the Senate earlier this month as part of the Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act.
Transcript of his remarks can be found below, and for more information about the event go here.
“Thanks very much… First of all, Senator Murphy, as you know he’s been a leader in this issue for some time. And I agree with him, we’re at a point in our nation’s history where we need to rethink how we approach not just the Russia issue, but it’s broader than that. And it’s about cyber, largely, but it’s about the type of information and as some have called it the hybrid warfare out there, or asymmetric threats. So to Fred and the Atlantic Council, thank you for giving us a forum once again to talk about that and for providing a week of information about disinformation.  And I’m told today I should thank the Eurasia Center because you guys did all the work today so thank you for that. And to the other folks who are involved here I saw the McCain’s Institute’s involved once again; NDI, Stanford, Oxford, Jigsaw and other partners.
“Eighteen months ago I was here with Senator Murphy and we came, as you recall Chris, to launch this new effort to fight disinformation and we told you at the time that, you know, we had hoped to be able to get some of our colleagues on board, and I will tell you in the past eighteen months some significant things have happened. First of all, our idea which we’ve presented to you as the official launch of our efforts has become law. Now, in Washington D.C. these days that’s a big deal, you should applaud that. I mean it’s like, something happened. It’s bipartisan. But what happened was, you know, we were able to convince our colleagues on both sides of the aisle that this is a serious issue and needs to be addressed so we got it included in the National Defense Authorization Bill. The legislation was largely intact. I think one difference is frankly it set up an even more robust Global Engagement Center. And as Chris indicated, this is a center that was already starting to work on ISIS counter-narrative, and on the Homeland Security Committee I had been very supportive of that. But now it takes on a much bigger role, which is this broader disinformation propaganda response, and again cyber’s a huge part of it.
“So, it’s really about two things as I see it. Primarily, one is better coordination, because this is not just a State Department issue.  This is an issue across government and that has not been well coordinated. More funding of course and more expertise, but also specifically, modernizing the US response. So the radio broadcast approach was incredibly important in World War II and the post-World War II era, and today we have a whole different medium. And different fora that we have to use, so turning to cyber is incredibly important as well.
“I think the thing that’s changed probably over the last 18 months that’s even more important than the legislation having been passed is there has been a new awareness of this problem. So for many of you who’ve worked on this issue for years and who helped us with our legislation, you probably can recall times when people would look at you rather strangely when you talked about disinformation like, ‘what are you talking about?’ And I think just in the last year and a half, sadly because of the reality, a lot more Americans, and frankly others around the world are beginning to understand what you’ve been talking about. The scale of the problem, the scope of the problem has grown, and I’m going to talk a little bit about maybe where we need to go in the future.
“On the positive side, as I noted, more awareness, our legislation, I would also say that very recently we passed in the Senate, with Chris Murphy’s leadership on the Foreign Relations Committee, legislation that provides sanctions.  This was part of the Iran’s sanctions legislation that provides initial sanctions on Russia as well. And as part of that, we were able to see more robust counter propaganda provisions that Senator Murphy and I had authored.  It passed the Senate two weeks ago with a vote of 98-2.  Again, that’s not typical for those of you who aren’t from this city.  And so I would say that some things are happening, we now have a strong, I think fair to say bipartisan group of senators who are focused on this issue.  And it’s not about Russia, it’s broader. It’s about Iran; it’s about other countries in our hemisphere; it’s about ISIS; it’s about ensuring that we’re working closely with think tanks like this one, media organizations, outside experts, in focusing on these issues. And I will say that this conference, when I look around at who’s here and look at your list, includes a really broad range of civic organizations, of non-profits, NGO’s, academics, the private sector is here, and again thanks to the Atlantic Council for forming this coalition on the outside.
“I will say for all the progress we’ve made in the last 18 months there is a lot of work that remains to be done. And I know at the conference today you’re going to hear from some real experts on that, and I know you’ll learn a lot, and some of you have already been engaged in this conversation again for years.  For some of our friends and allies from Europe who are here, when you come to see me, you aren’t surprised by anything I tell you about what’s going on in this country because you have been experiencing it.  And if anything, what I hear from particularly our Eastern European allies and friends is, you know, it’s about time that you’ve figured out what’s been going on for years. And so, you know, this new awareness couldn’t come soon enough for you.
“When I have been in Poland or the Baltics or Ukraine, I hear warnings from government officials, activists, the military, others about this aggressive use of propaganda … this hybrid warfare we talked about. Our European allies saw first-hand Russia’s improved ability to leverage modern information, technology recently in some elections.  And it basically is taking information, creating disinformation, and using it to undermine some of the very foundations of our alliances, of our institutions, and of our values.   So, although Russia’s attempt to influence the U.S. election was shocking to many Americans, it was not shocking to so many of our European partners.
“I think for many Americans, the sudden spike in media and public attention to this issue since the presidential election, frankly, has raised more questions than answers. And part of what I hope happens during this week is that we talk about answers. So I agree with Senator Murphy, we need to understand better what happened, go back to that first episode of Homeland. But also talk about ‘what do we do about it.’ … I think that’s a great purpose for this week is to talk about what do we do from here? I think we have to translate awareness into developing and implementing real policies tailored to what is a very complex threat. It’s not enough to just say it’s a problem, we have to work with policymakers and officials to be able to come up with solutions, and I think the Global Engagement Center is part of that, but just the first part.
“I also think, unfortunately, the public debate over Russia’s role in our election has too often devolved quickly into partisanship, and sometimes even hysteria. I think that is not particularly helpful to the broader effort. To be clear, I fully support the investigations that are ongoing into Russia’s involvement and we need to get to the bottom of it, no question about it. And we need to do so because we want to uphold the integrity of our elections here in this country. Just as in the case of France, or the U.K., or Germany, we need to be concerned as well. However, these investigations illustrate a threat that is much broader than just one president, or one state, or one party, and Senator Murphy has alluded to that. From Donetsk, to Paris, to Washington, this Russian influence operation has both fueled and been fueled by the discord, division, and disillusionment that’s out there in our body politic today. I think only a sustained bipartisan commitment to addressing the problem can lead to the type of durable and more effective policies to address it. Over the course of this conference you’re going to hear again from a lot of experts on the complexities of modern information and disinformation push back and how best to respond to the destabilizing propaganda and disinformation campaigns that are out there. I won’t talk more about that.
“What I want to do though is to, very simply, point out a couple of key principles. Three key principles I think we ought to be focused on. One, the challenge of Russia disinformation is not about Donald Trump, it’s much broader than that. It was a serious problem before him, and it’s going to continue to be a problem long after his term in office. Second, greater awareness of the problem does not automatically translate into effective policy responses as we talked about this morning. The Atlantic Council and all the experts here today have a critically important role to be able to translate that increased awareness into a better conceptual understanding of the threats we face. Russia and any other information campaigns are effective in part because they integrate a broad range of capabilities within a common strategic and operational framework. These tools and these operations, including the cyber-attacks, the troll farms which were talked about earlier, social media, funding of useful think tanks and political organizations, funding of media—state-owned media, is broad and it’s complex. And third, if the conversation about understanding foreign disinformation efforts and improving America’s counter-propaganda capabilities does become partisan it will not succeed and I want to stress that. And I appreciate Senator Murphy’s comments on that this morning. We need to keep this, I would say not just bipartisan, but nonpartisan.
“This is about our democracy, it’s about our shared values with democracies around the world, and it’s about our values. So, despite the challenges that remain, I do think we’ve made some significant progress just in the last eighteen months since we were last before you talking about this issue, and I think we’ve also been able to work better with countries around the world.
“It is going to take time, but I think we will develop effective policies that leverage the inherent advantages we have in our shared values and our institutions. To do that, we need more gatherings like this one, we need better information, we need to ensure that policy makers and experts can engage one another and develop effective solutions. So, I’m honored to have been included today in this conference. I wish you Godspeed in your important work this week and I appreciate your taking the time to hear my thoughts on these issues. Thank you.”
