I feel like this needs to be said but..Am I the only one getting annoyed with the “Ame Chan is a bad person/problematic” discourse?? I’m not just talking about the ppl who’ve been complaining about her character saying they “didn’t realize how awful she was”. I’m also talking about ppl being like “lmao yall clearly didn’t play the game of course she’s a horrible person you’re just now realizing that??”
You don’t necessarily have to play a game to be a fan of it. It’s pretty common for ppl to watch gameplay videos or videos covering the story of/analyzing games and characters if they can’t or don’t wanna play it. Second I dont think we should just look at Ame through a black and white lense. Ame’s not a horrible person but she’s not necessarily good either. She’s a very VERY flawed person who struggles with mental health issues and addiction and makes rlly bad decisions and says rlly mean/bad things.
But that’s like…literally everyone on earth. Everyone has flaws especially mentally ill ppl, nobody’s perfect. It’s implied that Ame was literally abandoned/disowned by her parents so of course she’s not going to make the best decision with a “stable” mind especially if you’re desperate.
Ame Chan does terrible things/decisions like taking drugs on stream and self harming on stream and I think she even killed herself on stream too in one ending(tho feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) which is obviously irresponsible and dangerous. And she says things that aren’t necessarily nice or the best(some of it is warranted since some of the ppl in her chat were saying rlly awful, gross and even misogynistic things and calling her “old”).
And while she only wanted to be kangel for attention online, it’s kinda possible that she’s been able to have positive impacts on her fans/audience. We’ve seen how she is with the younger side of her fanbase as Kangel. She’s very kind and compassionate and overall very sweet towards them. Kangel’s entire persona is revolved around reaching out to lonley ppl online who’re struggling and to make them happy.
She may be doing it only for money snd attention, but like most ppl who struggle with mental health issues, they sometimes don’t realize the positive impacts they’ve had on the ppl around them. Hell maybe deep down Ame made Kangel to also help reach out to ppl like her online and make them happy too.
And as for the whole shotacon accusations, Ame Chan is NOT a shotacon. It was a very bad translation error and we all know that most translators aren’t always reliable(especially Google Translate) so please stop spreading that around. It’s been debunked already.
Maybe I’m biased because while I don’t have BPD(at least I don’t think so), have never taken drugs, nor have I ever cut myself in like a very VERY long time(tho I never left any scars cuz i didn’t like pain)and have an anxiety disorder and am autistic, I still sorta relate to/kin Ame Chan.
I’ve had my moments where I’ve had emotional and or violent outbursts(not where I’ve beat someone up or broke anything)due to a rush of emotion and or getting real worked up/frustrated online and irl.
And it’s always rubbed me the wrong way when I’ve been seeing ppl trying to put Ame into the box of “bad/problematic person” whether you’re trying to defend her character or not. It’s a lot more complex and morally grey than that and I think characters like her being in media are important to lessen the stigma of mental health whether it be in Japan or worldwide.
Feel free to correct me and fill me in on stuff if I missed anything or left anything out but in conclusion, Ame Chan is a not a good person, but she’s not necessarily a monster and or all bad either and I think ppl on both sides should realize that.

all of this however I also think that all these changes to silco that ppl are complaining about aren't intentional. I think the writers just lack the skills to follow up the story of s1 or even realize that the s2 they wrote is incompatible with s1.
and silco and all of the contradictions around him showcase it really clearly. the impression that I get is that the 'core' writers viewed silco as pure evil but maybe were always planning on the mom twist or just embraced fans liking him post-s1 but they never figured out why the character was so praised and loved.
So in s1 we likely saw their bad ideas polished to perfection by other writers and in s2 we saw how the 'core' writers attempted to, by themselves, write a complex grey villain.
so instead of a complex morally grey but consistent characterization we got a bunch of contradictions. ones that I think the writers didn't even realize they put there. like doubling down on what a dad silco is with the cutesy stuff meanwhile retroactively validating the extremely bad take that silco manufactured the jinx persona, jinx's mental illnesses and the sisters' conflict and that without him everything is automatically fixed.
in this way no side of the fandom 'won' bcos the fans, whichever side of the fence they fall on, put more thought into this show and so at least they have consistent interpretations of these characters. like for the fans who always thought silco was the root of all evil, how does the mom reveal or au silco fit into this take on the character? on the other hand there's me who got shallow but canon validation that silco is (and ig was always meant to? ...ok) be Jinx's dad and genuinely loved her or whatever (L for the ppl insisting he cared about her as a weapon and such) but at a cost of myself also taking an L for thinking silco wasn't the root cause of all evil. I was actually so wrong about this that apparently it was his mere evil presence that gave Jinx mental illnesses and not her traumatic experiences/genes.
it's like the writers doubled down on their simplistic view of the character and stubbornly stuck with the original plan to have him be pure evil but then they also let him get away with it with a slap on the wrist by being like 'oh it's not really his fault he's pure evil, actually he's a cutie patootie like the rest, he just didn't find the letter :( but if he only found the letter then !!! :) and it is also not vander's fault cos it's not his fault silco didn't find the letter'. it's like when in children's stories the villain learns the error of their ways and becomes friends with the heroes by the end cos we don't want anyone to lose or be sad, cos otherwise children might cry.
this simplification of characterization happened to all characters, I think it's just more noticeable with silco cos he was probs the most nuanced in s1 and bcos we get so little of him in s2, it's easier to spot and analyze what's wrong with him. and bcos he was the character who was the most tied to the PnZ conflict that got butchered in s2.
i’m really annoyed by how silco’s character and silco and jinx’s bond has been downplayed and brushed aside by the show, the marketing, the writers, several voice actors, the promotional materials, a major portion of the fandom, etc, but considering the political stance they’ve taken it actually does make sense.
acknowledging the complexity and the good and bad about both vander and silco throws a wrench into the “we should all forgive each other and violence is never the answer :)” narrative that season 2 revolves around. if they showed that vander had his flaws too, and people died under his watch too, it would make it harder to paint him as the ideal father and pacifist that they needed him to be to support the idea that his struggles and downfall stemmed from the continuation of the cycle of violence and a lack of silco’s forgiveness, not piltover. it would make it harder to pretend that every problem could have been solved without any sort of conflict, frame fighting back against piltover as something negative, and act like the right thing to do and the only way for anyone to be a good person was to hold hands with their oppressors.
they can’t acknowledge that even despite his flaws and every terrible thing he did, silco was right to oppose piltover and was more jinx’s parent than anyone else. and they absolutely can’t acknowledge that jinx was right to strike against the council and want to retaliate against piltover. because if they do, the politics fall apart, the messaging falls apart, jinx’s character arc falls apart, vi’s character arc falls apart, the warwick plot falls apart, and every piece of what they tried to paint as the ideal “what could have been” happy ending in the episode 7 au falls apart.
and this is nothing new either. “silco was the root of all evil and everything would be okay if caitlyn and vi had a happy cop love story (which would be devoid of any moral ambiguity because liking flawed characters who stay flawed is scary) and fixed the system from within (which would be easily doable because classism and oppression don’t exist) and jinx went to therapy and went back to being powder and warwick magically went back to being vander so they could all be a happy family :)” has been the prevailing opinion of over half of this fandom since 2021. i just wasn’t expecting it from the writers.

Hi! If u wouldn’t mind helping me out, I’m trying to figure out whether I use Se-Ni or Ne-Si, I’m fairly certain I’m ExTP 3w4. Thought I was ESTP but sensors I’ve met irl tend to be a lot more hands on & in the moment than me. I’m not v in tune to the physical world, ex. the light in my room flickers on/off sometimes & I don’t even notice it, my sister had to point it out to me. I’m terrible at sports/dancing bc I have poor spatial/bodily awareness. Other times certain sensory inputs are (1)
completely overwhelming to me & I’m v dramatic abt them, if something smells bad or I’m cold I have to get away asap or I get moody. Sometimes I put effort into my appearance but usually I don’t, I only want to impress specific ppl. I don’t particularly like being in charge but in group projects I’m always thrust into the decision making role bc no one else wants it & I just want to get it over with. When I’m not breathing down ppl’s necks things just go to shit -_- I avoid working harder (2)
than I have to & chose my major (animation) specifically bc it’s fun/doesn’t feel like work & I wouldn’t have to write long essays/do math. Speaking of math I don’t like when things have 1 definitive answer & I don’t like things I can’t make relevant to myself. I preferred English/phil classes bc u can argue p much anything & I’m an expert bullshitter. Psych was fun until we had to learn actual chemicals/brain parts. I like looking at graphs/statistics & I love making lists. Idk what type my (3)
mom is but she’s constantly irritated by me bc I ask her questions she thinks I should just google, but I don’t rly care abt the answer, I just want to discuss. She also hates tht I talk abt what the world “should” be like, she’s just like “go fix it then” & it drives me crazy bc I wish I COULD but it’s NOT that simple. I procrastinate a lot. I wouldn’t call myself a perfectionist but I’ll work at something until it’s more than decent bc I hate letting people down. I hate when ppl watch me (4)
work, I only want them to see the result. I’m v risk averse (except when it came to my career path lol) & do everything I can to ensure I won’t fail. I compare myself to others to see how I measure up. I’m always trying to improve myself; I think that’s why I dwell on my negative qualities so much & why I feel like I’m not living up to my potential. I’d rather impress ppl than serve ppl to gain their approval. I’ve always wanted to be famous & it shocked me when I found out most ppl don’t.(5)
The thought of having “fans” actually makes me uncomfortable but I want to elevate my social status to spite ppl who used to look down on me. I couldn’t stand just being average, I want to be undeniably important and worthy of love. I don’t rly know what I want in life besides this vague need to succeed. I’d be happy doing a variety of things, but I hate menial labor/repetitive tasks. I need alarms for everything bc I zone out so much; literally as I was writing this I was on a walk & had (6)
to sprint back home bc I forgot I had work until my alarm went off. My living space is a mess, I’m fine w it. I hate accountability (can’t drive, too much responsibility/possible crashing). I can form habits if I see a good reason for them, but consistency is hit or miss (sporadically eating healthy vs 100+ day duolingo streak). I have no respect for authority/tradition & only follow the law to avoid punishment. Ppl say I’m creative/funny but I think I mostly just combine/jump off other (7)
ppl’s ideas & improve them. When I write stories ppl complain there are no sensory details/phys descriptions. Ppl tell me I’m eccentric but I’m just doing my own thang idc abt social norms. Love thinking up unrealistic romantic scenarios, romance is my fave thing to talk about. I feel guilty talking abt my obsessions so much but I GOTTA. I don’t trust myself to judge myself accurately bc I’m always trying on new personas, but the things I talked abt here are all persistent traits (8)
---------
Hi anon,
So I do think you probably are a high Ne user from this, and 3 is possible, but I think you’re an ENFP - some of the traits, especially surrounding leadership, sound like they’re coming from low Te; your attitude towards math (not that FPs can’t be good at math or TPs all like it, but TPs often do want a single answer and like the consistency of math even if they’re not into it as a specialty) and the attitudes towards eccentricity and new personas seems more like Fi than lower Fe. I’m not totally positive, and your focus for this question was Ne vs. Se so you may have left out things that led you to type as a Ti-aux, but at the very least I’d recommend looking at aux Fi.
I would also look into 3w2 or 2w3 instead of 3w4 - the part about being important and worthy of love makes me think both 2 and 3 are involved in the core.

The week in review:
Raw 09/21 NXT 09/23 NXT UK 09/24 Smackdown 09/25 Clash of Champions 09/27 + Main Event 09/24
Raw:
Billie’s not wrong. None of these people are wrong. That title has fallen so fucking far since Becky held it, Jesus.
Interesting to see Billie Kay be somewhat (?) supportive of Peyton. Manager?
I implore women to stop using red eyeliner unless you’re trying to look possessed.
Oh at least Mickie’s gonna have her last match with her snazzy pants on.
God that theme music is so outdated.
If there was one person on the roster that could convince me they wrestled in the Diva’s era, it’d be Mickie James.
Beautiful Octopus, dare I say best in the division. Look at those crossed legs. Just beautiful, Zelina.
Man it was cool watching Zelina reverse the powerbomb attempt into a rollup, but Mickie couldn’t be bothered to get her shoulders down for a 2 count before the reversal. Shame.
Zelina needs an increase to her speed to pull off the style she’s going for, but it’s a fun style.
oof I think Mickie actually caught Zelina’s forehead with that high kick.
Seated Senton off the top rope is garbage and I hate it.
Lmfao Zelina won with a backstabber. She’s literally Sasha-lite. Okay.
Word was Bianca was the star of the pc combine, right? So if you wanna showcase her strength, do it against someone I fucking know lmao. Who was this bro? Of course she’s stronger than a nobody in the pc. Friggin Alexa Bliss can effortlessly give piggy back rides to Sheamus. That’s impressive, because I know how strong and big he is. This could’ve been done better is all I’m saying. Maybe do a sitdown interview with her pc peeps hyping her up, or show footage of her blowing everyone in the combine out the park. Idk.
Ruby stop hyping up Nia and Shayna individually, individually they suck lol lesbireal.
So did Ruby just give Liv her shirt? …You know what, it works, I’m not gonna dig into this.
I feel like all women use the same starting moves against Nia and it’s a little tired ngl. They do this headscissors into a standing crucifix hold, and then slide down to try and roll her up. Then she picks them up and headbutts them. Come on peeps.
Mk just throw Lana through another table, she’s as useless in the ring (kf wise) as Liv is on commentary (non-kf wise)
Let me rewind, how did Nattie get taken out this time? A punch again. COOL. Nattie confirmed worst tag partner in the history of the division.
Lmfao rip Lana. Bye.
Wow we just said fuck entrances huh? Ugh God. Imagine Becky not getting an entrance as a damn champion.
So Peyton forgoes jumping for the German suplex, which could’ve resulted in her landing on Asuka’s head, and her reaction is to laugh. Consummate professional. Becky Lynch’s optic cranial nerve injury (caused by a failed German suplex) called, it can’t seem to find the humor.
Idk what that double underhooked move was by Peyton, but it was nice.
What bothers me about Peyton’s spinning heel kick, is as high as she gets it, she only hits people with her calf. Awkward to see.
That attempted transition into the Asuka Lock was... something.
Highlight: Lana going through the table

NXT:
Did Tegan say “why me” to Candice fucking her knee up with a metal pipe? Somebody get this girl some tissues.
Haha watching Tegan writhe in pain is funny. Candice gets points. And I do not like giving Candice points.
Really appreciate Rhea’s theme after hearing so much generic garbage lately. She’s so done with nxt as a performer, she has passed literally all of them by.
Not to be that person, but seeing so many people in the ring together bothers me. If one person was sick, literally all of them are sick now. It’s just kinda yikes.
Did they forego having a crowd? If so, wise. There’s enough ppl in the ring and at ringside.
Rhea fucking yeeted that girl into the barrier lmaooo.
“...Marina Shafir who’s done some great things on Raw Underground recently,” lmao sure.
The absolute half-assed attempt by that girl to pull herself up before Rhea booted her down to the floor was questionable.
So adding all these random peeps from the pc to this battle royal was done solely to have Raquel and Rhea flex for their feud in 4 months, huh.
Kacy does cool shit, wbk lmao. Gets kicked out, lands on her back, rolls into a handstand, rotates, pulls herself up into the ring using her feet on the ropes; gets kicked out, lands on the side of the guardrail, pulls herself up, uses the plexiglass to help balance herself, jumps onto the stairs; gets kicked out, lands on the side of the guardrail, stands on Kayden’s shoulders and gets chauffeured back to the ring. Brilliant. Would be overkill in a Royal Rumble, but it works here.
R&R eliminate each other/themselves together. Fitting. Dakota “help me I’m useless on my own” Kai is shook.
Why is Indi in the top 5? Or top 7? How is this girl so damn prestigious??
Kacy really just slung herself around the ringpost. I’m becoming a fan of her antics/performances in multiwomen matches.
I see Shotzi’s character is, “I come so close yet cannot manage to touch the gold.” I feel for her... cuz I can’t stand Candice.
Boooo
I love how Io carries herself. She’s a shining example of not allowing her heritage to hold her back or make her feel unimportant. She responds in Japanese, and without missing a beat, translates in perfectly spoken and quick English. Never dances, never smiles, never looks like a chump. Serious and answers the damn question. She gets points.
Highlight: Kacy shenanigans
---
NXT UK:
Lol I love KLR so much. Just ducks out of the ring the first time she’s bested.
“KLR is well versed in mental manipulation,” that she is. She’s honestly a top competitor in that sense; equal to the likes of Sasha and Charlotte when it comes to psychology.
Piper’s got power. Ragdolling KLR here.
That’s right, performing with Charlotte Flair at wm is an accolade one can only hope to achieve (I’m annoying I know) no but seriously, KLR vs Becky Lynch? Take my money.
Nice Superkick, nice Tornado ddt.
Dear ref, stop yelling at her and restart the count. Dweeb.
Lmao self inflicted wreckage of her knee.
This ref is a walking headache. We’re now getting into the autumn of overbooked women’s matches. And UK’s first title match back. Yikes.
That senton was awkward and looked painful af for KLR’s neck. If you’re gonna risk that move while selling a leg injury, make sure you have more space to correct your landing.
I almost wish that turnbuckle came undone naturally because KLR is already such a good seller, but I’m gonna assume this is a worked move since it’s been left exposed.
Yeah see there are issues with that spot. Positives: KLR didn’t purposefully undo the turnbuckle, so it’s not on her to give another title match; the spot has potential, as I’m guessing that would be genuinely painful. Negatives: Piper is too big of a woman to hit the lower turnbuckle doing the cannonball, so she ended up hitting the middle... which was padded. Good ending on paper if you don’t do the equations, but poor execution. Not Piper nor KLR’s fault though.
Slow pacing and I hate overbooked garbage, but this obviously isn’t the only match they’re having so *shrug*
Highlight: Clean tornado ddt, and I do love KLR’s selling
---
Smackdown:
Lol Bayley has her chair. She automatically gets a point every time I see it.
Top of the ramp this time? Okay, sure.
Stop cutting to the fancams, production. I don’t care about their reactions.
A fine enough promo to move along both of her angles, but production sucks. Wbk though.
“...one of the most complex personalities,” which personality of Alexa’s are we referring to, though?
Their timing on her pyro was off and now I’m sad. The pops during the breakdown leading into the fountains are fucking amazing and honestly cannot be topped by any of the other women.
When did Alexa stop wearing her gloves to the ring? Probably when she turned face. Shame.
She just called Lacey bitter, southern tea, and you know what? What a fucking drag. Imagine bitter southern tea. As someone who was raised in the south, that is a disgrace to southern tea. Sweet sun tea or pass.
Look at Alexa: selling Lacey’s strength, full of agile speed, and yet here’s Lacey not even bothering to put her shoulders down for her pin attempt. SAD.
A problem I consistently have with SD in particular is how they set up commercial breaks. They always do something dramatic, cut to commercial, come back and shit’s always completely different. How you gonna cut from Alexa leading and hearing the Fiend’s laugh, to return to Lacey in charge ???
Dear Cole, why are you calling her Alexis lol. Like I know that’s her real name but, hello??
oof Alexa’s midsection is beet red.
Lacey has not been putting on a “clinic” stop tossing that term around, Cole. Good bump by Alexa though.
Love how Lacey doesn’t mind landing flat when her moonsault misses. Respect. Her and Charlotte both eat that so perfectly.
LOVE how the monitors of people turned into Fiend’s face. POINTS.
It’s like she’s reverted back to her heel persona. This is literally 2016 Bliss, right? Right??
Roman is a large, strong, intimidating guy... but holy shit the visual of 5′1 Alexa staring daggers into the back of his head is intense af. I almost complained that he cut off her exit, but well done with the continuity.
Highlight: I’m really digging the Alexa/Fiend story
---
Clash of Champions:
Loving the red roots, hate the eyeshadow.
See, if Asuka wants to fuck around in the ring, you won’t hear me complain. I just wish she took her non-wrestling segments more seriously.
The patience Asuka gave Zelina to set up the arm kick was dumb.
“A hard arm bar by Asuka,” he says, even though her legs were completely bent. Easy on the credit given plz.
Zelina telegraphs too much. None of the bumps she takes ever catch me by surprise.
In the spirit of being fair, put your fucking shoulders down and let her attempt a pinfall, Asuka.
Haha Sasha-lite did meteora in the corner.
Nice roll into a kick, half point for Zelina.
No you don’t get to sell frustration or disbelief yet, that’s not buyable.
I don’t know wtf Zelina was going for with that counter before the Asuka Lock, but honestly idc. Could’ve been a kickoff match indeed. State of Becky’s title btw.
Every week it’s the same shit with Asuka. She gets on the mic, speaks Japanese, barely accomplishes anything, then gets interrupted/slapped/attacked... with dancing and smiling inbetween. I really wish she was more like Io.
Nikki isn’t “medically cleared to compete”, and the tag team titles aren’t being defended. My memory is fuzzy but wasn’t there some covid concerns going around back then? Was that just baseless speculation?
Love that Bayley turned this into an opportunity to be a bigger douche than she already was lol.
IS SHE DOING A VICTORY LAP LMAO
I want to hate this from a smarky “give other women a chance” perspective, but Bayley is an ass and this is great for Asuka to build credit as a face, and after being made to look foolish yet again. Lesgo.
Lol sounded like Bayley said, “you think you can cuck me?” I’m sure she didn’t. I’m choosing to believe she did though.
I never know exactly who to blame when Asuka’s Codebreaker looks ugly, but I swear Charlotte is the only one it looks impactful with. Sell job isn’t the problem, but taking that actual move is always dicey af.
Great kick by Asuka. Rekt.
Bayley says nah fuck this rofl. Fair ending; a fun little sprint of meaningless jabs.
“Chairwoman of SD” I like that too, Graves. Points to you.
LMAOOO Bayley set that shit up perfectly kekekek what’s up Sasha.
She be looking fucking incredible, but that neckbrace is a mega bummer.
Character wise, I’m surprised Bayley’s choosing to dole out punishment rather than taking her title and bolting.
Welp maybe she should have, Sasha going to town lmao.
oof peep that red line going down Bayley’s arm. eesh. Welts all over her back.
Highlight: Sasha beating the shit out of Bayley with a kendo stick
---
*BONUS*
Main Event:
You don’t pan the camera over to fucking commentary during Bianca’s entrance. Do better @ production.
Ruby puts her confidence in Liv even though everybody knows Bianca is winning this match lmao.
LOVE Liv’s boots.
like 20 seconds into the match and it’s already 10x better than the Bianca vs Billie Kay one. Don’t even waste a spot on Main Event for Billie Kay. No, I’m not not sorry for saying that.
It’s not that I hold issue with Bianca’s showboating or mannerisms, but it’s all so much more fitting for a heel.
Beautiful stalling suplex, but Liv is rather small.
Beautiful distance on that dropkick to Liv. Liv gets points for throwing herself so far.
We have enough women who rip their shirts off deep into matches, me thinks. Don’t need it from Liv as well.
Momentum could’ve been split better, but that was a decent match.
---
*Clash of Champions would be my highlighted event mostly thanks to Bayley, but if that’s a cop out, I’ll give a slight nod to Smackdown’s handling of Alexa.
#wwe#issa review#feel free to ignore these#cuz who tf cares lesbihonest#today's props goes to:#bayley

I don't think axel has been in the least bit disrespectful. He was absolutely stellar in s3 and catapulted skam fr to where it is now, along w/maxence. Not just that, but he has been an exceptional public persona - think of all those fans showing up and waiting after his play, he gave them all the time in the world, cus he knows how loved lucas is. Just a few weeks ago he stayed way longer than planned on a video live chat thing cus so many ppl had questions. 1/3
He tirelessly promoted the show w/interviews, ig posts etc. And only very rarely complained when some fans became stalker-ish. He barely even reacted to that insta spoiler fiasco a few months back. He has devoted so much time to making sure skam was a success. Skam isn't like normal shows, once a main has had a season, they are rarely seen thereafter. So any appearance lucas has in s7/8 would be absolutely minimal, it makes sense for both him and lucas to exit. 2/3
Axel has a very successful theatre career, and tried to balance all his shows last summer w/also promoting skam, and his private life. I doubt it was sustainable. But I personally am SO SO happy to see him leave with how they treated his character, lucas deserved so much better. Knowing how much both he and maxence love their characters, it was sad to see them being treated that way. While I doubt that's his reason for leaving, I have so much respect for him for doing so. 3/3
This exactly, I have nothing else to add. He did so much for this show and never even said one bad word about anyone from the team so I really don't get why ppl think that he should be more grateful??? Lmao no the only ones who should be grateful are still David and Niels (for all of their actors) not the other way around

okay all right so i stumbled upon this and ive been thinking this over for a while and this is just something ive found genuinely interesting to consider. like i guess i will say i was at least... suuurprised? to see it framed as in agreement with anything i’ve said here but it got me to really reexamine what i have said about kurama, bc i think ive just alluded to my thoughts and this made me finally stop and think about putting how i interpret this storyline to words so like go wild if u wanna hear my um extensive kurama opinions but heres a read more
i know this is a kind of extreme take to be working with lmao but i do think that aspect of distance and cool calculation written into kurama’s character being at odds with the understanding and care he shows for others throughout the story is a really nuanced and interesting thing, and i think i agree with the sentiment being expressed here that it is an oversimplification to just work with a before/after narrative for kurama and act like his previous life (and cruelty) doesnt influence his human(ish) personality and worldview.
but i also think it strips away equally crucial parts of his character to assume instead that those identities are simply layered on top of one another (as opposed to being side by side when looking at them in a more linear chronological way, if that makes sense). i dont really view his character arc as trying to overcome that underlying layer as much as him struggling throughout the story to accept that they’re not layered at all, because its easier and neater to pretend that there are multiple “sides” to himself than to realize that it’s all just him and he has to learn to process and accept and prioritize who he wants to be, not departing from either origin but settling in his desired space within them/within himself
because he’s capable of cruelty but he’s also capable love and kindness and having power over how he expresses it because it’s really not inherently against his nature and part of why he “tries” so hard is because he’s dealing with the overwhelming belief that it is and imo the places where we see the gaps in his collected personality are mostly when it really just becomes apparent how much he cares (like when his emotions abt other ppl not making his mistakes are so strong it gets past his usual crazy calm tact) and how deeply he loves his family and friends (which like.. can we stop and think about the implications of that as a plot point PLEASE now im really losing it wow). so i really think the beauty of both his character development/arc and just the core of his writing is precisely that whatever scary thing lies underneath his “nice son persona” so to speak is ultimately of his own imagination—just as it is in the cases of all the story’s other protagonists.
i think that’s a central theme in the story overall, right? this notion of what it means to always look for the worst in oneself. and like, in the case of fantasy, between magic and exaggerated shounen violence you really have the opportunity to play with what you might find in doing that and all of its consequences, for better or worse. and ultimately i think each character finds that thats unsustainable however that shows in their individual storylines
and like this person was saying, to discount his history also has the effect of brushing aside this idea, but i think to take the interaction of those two identities at face value as separate at all is also reductive. anyways im not saying these tags complaining abt yyh fan interpretations have all that much to do with this or are representative of their author’s full opinions on the matter and i think i get what theyre trying to say but it just got me thinking abt this lmao.
#o#yyh#i rly went a little crazy w this asklfjhalfkjhaslfkjhalsfkdjh but heeere it is#i started talking abt something MUCH bigger at the end but thats a whooooooole nother post#togashi just. he did that!

I've heard a lot of questions of who is your favorite artist but what I want to know is who is your least favorite artist shade and all. 😏 give me that tea girl.
There’s definitely some artists out there that I dislike but unfortunately, I want to avoid any potential drama my words can cause so I can’t really answer this question.
Then again, I guess I can give some ideas of types of artists I dislike:
-Artists who are unnecessarily rude to their fans. The kind who talks down to their fans and are quick to be irritated. If you send them an ask and you just so happen to not word it perfectly, they’ll snap at you. They wouldn’t be where they are without their fan’s support and yet they treat them like shit. Sometimes they’re just a pissy asshole, but there are some artists who act mean as some sort of persona. Like, they know they’re being a huge chode-meiser, but that’s all part of the "act”. They don’t care when they hurt their fans feelings! It’s part of the “joke”. I hate ppl like the latter with a passion.
-Artists who draw Incest/Pedo/Rape stuff. I don’t really gotta explain that.
-Artists with shitty beliefs. This one is the type of artist who whines about “””feminazis””” on twitter and likes to make offensive (i.e. racist, transphobic, ableist, whatever other -ists and -phobics you can think of) jokes and gets their piss boiled when people complain about it. They’re always talking about how they’re gonna “abandom this hellsite that is dumblr” but never actually leave. They usually have right-wing, libertarian, or centrist political views and the worst of them are outright fascists. They cross over with the above 2 a lot, obviously.
-Bad artists who make harsh, insulting youtube reviews of the art of also bad artists. “Bad artists”, in this case, refer to artists who aren’t very good and are still in training. My problem with these people is that whenever they “””””review”““““ other people’s work, instead of offering constructive criticism, they just insult and riff on the artwork, usually by yelling “CRING!!” if the art (usually made by young teens) is particularly edgy.
When they do try to offer CC, its usually advice that isn’t very actionablelike “this looks bad, change it”. When the original artists speaks up that their review is just non-stop bashing, the reviewer just brushes it off, saying that the artist is just “too sensitive” and they need to “grow a spine” (mind you, the original artist almost never actually asks to get their art reviewed. These reviewers just find something that looks bad and tears it apart without ever informing the original artist).
They act like they’re just telling it like it is when in reality, the only reason they make these scathing reviews is because they know that its entertaining to their audience. Scathing reviews are fun to listen too and their fans eat it up. But the problem here is that the reviews are at the expense of young, developing artists who will most likely be discouraged from continuing art (and to those who say “well, if negative comments are enough to make them quit then maybe they didn’t have what it takes” FUCK OFF! Not everybody is thick skinned and we shouldn’t EVER accept that all artists should have to withstand constant harsh words. Nobody deserves that and we’ve lost so many potential great artists to cyberbullying). Then they have the gall to say that their videos are honest to god critiques to get the artists to improve when they’re really not. They’re just trashy cringe videos.
The most annoying thing about these artists is that 99% of the time, they’re shitty artists themselves!! I know that you don’t have to be an amazing chef to judge someone’s cooking but if you’re gonna go in that harsh, you can at least be a bit better than them. It feels like the reason they trash these artists is to make them feel better about themselves. And that’s just sad. You can tell this is the case because whenever they review ppl’s OC’s, they usually compare them to their OC, which they deem superior (90% of time that isn’t true and their character also sucks).

This answer got out of hand lol. I hope that satisfied your tea craving.
