Head cannons for dating Casino Cups! Mugman, with fem! Bartender! Cat! reader !!

First of all, we all have seen how he reacts and stuff with the thought of Cala Maria—it's absolutely adorable how he swoons and stuff just like that over you, before you two get together.

Before dating, he'll probably be a rambler and it would be a lot harder then his crush on Cala—seeing that you work in the same establishment, and with communication a lot for ur job requirements

I'd say you'd somewhat have the same vibe as Cala, like a mature, godly beautiful kind of thing? Does that make sense? Do ppl know what i'm talking abt 😭😭

But BOOM!! that was before you two were dating, and now that you are I wouldn't say a lot is different.

He'll definitely be a lot easier to talk to as time goes on, usually whenever he can— sitting at the bar and ranting about whatever is on his mind. Cuphead? The card tricks from King Dice? Some customers that were there not so long ago, that Mugman could barely bite his tongue at? At some point the conversation moves along or in a full circle, but trust there will be conversation about a new magic book he got his hands on or something at some point.

You're probably more of a listener and him being the yapper, in a situation where he can spurge all his thoughts out for you to here as your serving drunken customers or cleaning up the cups for the night.

And if it's in my more secluded area for the both of you, he may even get more personal like the details of his life with Elder Kettle—and how it was before the whole 'gamble and contact' situation, leading him to work for the Devil himself.

And everytime he gets reminded, he thinks of how your past must be like—especially with the chip in your upstanding ear and the little scar on your jaw. You basically cover your body from top to bottom otherwise, and he doesn't try to think too much about if you have any other scars underneath your clothes for obvious reasons.

There had been times where Mugman notices your feline tail, a part of him wanting to reach out and feeling the distressed fur but refuses to ever actually do it. He finds your cat features interesting, often when it's your turn to speak he'll take mental notes of the ways your ears twitch if Cuphead is talking in the background—arguing with another employee, or something along those lines.

But when you let him feel the fur of your tail, the first time he goes really silent and just seems to be analysising it, but only a moment before he perks up and begins speaking again—his touch still lingering on your tail.

Cuphead is forever teasing him of the both of you, but overall finds you alright to be around. You don't snitch on his harmless pranks, sometimes you even do pranks with him, and he appreciates the loyalty of keeping your word. You sometimes end up playing pool or a card game with Cuphead from time to time, which is alright if he wasn't so competitive, but funny to see him lose all his attempts against you. The difference between you two is that he's impulsive, while you're controlled on your gambling addiction.

Mugman always appreciates your words of comfort or reassurance, especially during a hard or overwhelming day. With your relationship with Cuphead, whenever he rants about him you drop little hints on both sides that's speeds up the process of whatever petty argument they're in currently.

But sometimes you are mysterious and sometimes unreadable to him, like when you two are alone you can be heartfelt and reassuring—but with those of your colleagues, like King Dice or the Devil, you can almost become withdrawn and only speak when you're spoken to.

It's difficult seeing the change, especially when you're so hard to read but when he brings it up—you don't have an explanation—but it gives him more insight on how to read you well, since he seems to be the only one that can really understand the small signals and ect.

Its a really sweet dynamic, I wouldn't say black cat x golden retriever, but I can say it's something along those lines.

And it's very different when the two of you are drunk, you both become lovedrunk and giddy fools—clinging onto eachother and following alone with Cupheads wild activities, that everyone eventually gets involved in willingly or not.

Overall, I say it would be a more talker x listener kind of thing, but the relationship would be based around pure communication—comfort used of both sides, and the two of you having an incredible understanding of eachother. Outside the Devils deals and Cupheads antics, there's a calm and true connection between you two that would be hard to be similar to anyone else's. There's a deep understanding for eachother, and a connection that makes you two seem almost made for eachother :3

I dont follow kaia gerber and what not so I dont really have an opinion on her. If you say shes an opportunist why is that being framed in a negative light. Every up in coming celeb/infleuncer/ actor does whatever they can to get into places so as to deepen their networks and connections. Gerber is nepo baby so shes has access to places/events that get her with major alisters. Its the way it is, exposure means someone may pay attention to you and get you work.

I dont know I feel theirs alot of projection happening here, Im not saying shes not playing the long game but its very possible she just wanted to talk with zendaya just b/c she wanted to. I mean shes already got an in with top tier directors simply by being really close with freaking laura dern.

Nothing wrong with making connections and trying to be friendly and meet new ppl in the industry and whatnot. There's nothing wrong with networking at all, or even having higher goals for yourself. 😃✌🏾

What most ppl are having an issue with, however, is nepobabies (who ALREADY have an advantage over most actors in the industry) using "networking" and clout chasing (i.e. befriending certain people, dating certain people, calling the paps on themselves, and using "connections") to further advance their acting careers when they have no acting talent, instead of actually doing the hard work of getting acting lessons, starting from scratch (like most ppl do), and doing the gritty arduous steps of really honing your craft.

Case in point....

Zendaya has been acting since she was a KID okay.... Her first major film role was in Spiderman HOCO, and she only had like 5 lines lol. This was after being already in countless shows since she was a kid on TV. And she didn't have any rich family, or famous connections either.

Look.....Nobody would really care if Kaia were actually a GOOD actress. 🤷🏾‍♀️

But as sweet as she might be, she just comes across as kinda fake and disingenuous to me. It gives some people the impression that you're only getting closer to certain people in order to advance your own career.... I can't explain it, but it just comes off as not being genuine imo. Imo, she's more of a "clout chaser" than people swear JE is (or was). At least with JE, he can actually act and has decent acting skills.

She might be a sweet girl and all, but she seems like she's trying real hard to "network" her way up the career ladder and into the Hollywood acting sphere instead of just doing the actual work.... 👀

If she were doing the actual work to improve, we would have seen evidence of this a long time ago by now lol. ����

It's already frustrating for some in that acting industry to have to work their tails off for years just to get recognized or acknowledged, and then to lose out to roles to someone who's a nepobaby like Kaia Gerber is just insulting lol.

I've said before, Hollywood is FULL of nepobabies. Nobody cares as long as you're actually talented. 🤷🏾‍♀️

That's like you working hard at your job for 20+ years and haven't been getting the recognition you deserve, but some young "newbie" who has rich parents and knows your boss comes in, and now is getting all of these new work and is now making strides faster than you have, even though she knows nothing about how to do the job. 🥴

[Edited for further clarity] That is really Martin Scorsese's daughter, that's her real TikTok account, and presumably that is really her father in the chat screenshot she posted. Francesca saw the piece in the NY Times talking about how Tumblr made up a fake movie, sent her Dad the link and asked "Did you see this?" Martin joked back "yes I made that movie years ago." That's all it was, Martin Scorsese himself playing along with our silliness.

PLEASE reblog this and DO NOT TAG IT UNREALITY. i would just like to rant for a sec about kpop groups not be able to sing. i’ve stanned btob for a while now and have always liked groups that have good vocals and when they joined kingdom i was like eh sure i’ll watch some old men hang out with the kids.

most of it was… fine ig i knew i was biased but i thought btob had some only the most creative stages and it was fun to watch them interact with other groups. but then stray kids covered i’ll be your man and i was like ???? who in the i worms thought that group could handle those vocals?? i sometimes randomly think about it and cringe real bad and get secondhand embarrassment bc it i hated it that much. and then all my stray kids fans were like wow best performance i’ve ever seen. like???? idk if you’ve watched it but i was like how could anyone be proud of that perf 😂 anyways i left that showing knowing one thing and it was btob kings of vocals

btob rearranges their own songs to make them easier to perform live, what were they thinking.... btob has like 5 way easier titles... for example: if they did 2nd confession... chill song with a+ line distribution and it's still not boring. i'd say 'respect' and go my merry way. even thriller would be a better choice but it still has bits that aren't as easy as they seem

btob titles.. starting with winters tale and ending with show your love... they are all tailor made for them. eunkwang is the one who oversees part distribution. that's why their songs seem easy... they are made for them and them only idc! that's the truth. not every group has 4 v good vocalists plus rappers than can carry a tune and have a clear diction.

yea i get angry anons wherever i talk about how btob songs are hard to cover and almost no one pulls them off... idc. ppl just want to show off their vocals so they don't re-arrange the songs or adjust the key. big mistake huge. one of very few good btob covers is lightsum's only one for me. they changed it up and took it easy. worked out well. if u cant sing like btob... maybe dont cover their songs... btob spent 3 years of extreme nugudom going on radio/tv shows and covering 173849 songs, from super hard korean ballads to jpop classics. i have a whole yt playlist full of uncut btob rehearsal videos and they are just... wearing sweats, playing around And singing their ass off. btob on chill mode is what some idols fail to achieve on stage...

btob kondom stages were crazy bc 1. they pulled them off vocally 100% despite half of them being sick 2. u dont need to read a whole essay to understand ~symbolism and meaning~ 3. you can tell they learnt a lot from years of doing concerts with Live Band And musicals 4. whole staff working with them nailed their job, from choreographers, dancers, set designers to stylists

So I’m in uni and sometimes I feel guilty whenever I talk to my classmates who are much much older than me; old enough to be my parent (my program is structured so that ppl w kids, full time jobs, etc can learn the content at the same pace as the normal program but the course load is less but stretched out throughout the year), and they talk about how stressful it is to balance school, work, and taking care of their kids, on top of spending money on textbooks, gas, on their kids. Meanwhile I’m here working part time and spending all that money adding to my plushie collection and food. I’m not bashing them or anything it’s just the difference in our lifestyles is kinda funny, but one thing that I’ll applaud them for is that despite all their other priorities they’re able to keep up w the work and finish everything, like they reached a level of maturity where they don’t procrastinate even a little. Meanwhile I’m here on Tumblr putting off a major assignment bc I’m I do t fee like it and the stress from it is making not want to do it

I can't exactly stop the guilt since it's natural but i will tell you that putting off hw/not feeling like doing it is a response from stress. its like escaping from ur problems, not confronting it etc.. but that doesn't make you any less of a person. these feelings are normal and I don't wanna make this about me but it kinda makes me cry when I see my classmates studying meanwhile I'm playing games so I wanna tell u that ur not alone

it's perfectly fine that you're spending money on things you want! if I'm not wrong, ur younger than them so you don't know what they've expected but in due time you will to. time is precious so I suggest keep doing what you do and enjoy your youth. you only live life once and i hope you'll be happy in this moment as you're still young

all that matters is that you finish it in the end. sometimes I don't do assignments because frankly, I'm not in the right mindset to do so. and doing what I like doing (e.g for you going on tumblr I suppose) which is playing games. it helps me relax and by the end of the day I'm pleased enough to do my homework since my mind is no longer in shambles so that might be the case for u

this is tough but probably in some point in your life you won't get to enjoy small things like that so that's why im here to tell you to enjoy it while you can. I heard that people in college get a shit ton of work to do and get 0 sleep so before you get to that point make sure to experience all the things you know you can't ever while you're older. you can't control how you, and other people live

and if you finish school you can have all the time in the world to buy more plushies 🥰💓 in some time your hard work will pay off, all those negative thoughts will only make you stronger. ily and I hope you will enjoy life

There’s so many things I love about the show that I haven’t seen people give enough credit for and I want to go on a little ramble because people are focusing so much on what they don’t like vs. what they do. So here’s my list. Sorry for the grammatical errors 😬

I love that the lesbian main character is this sweet, innocent, big hearted young woman and not portrayed as a overly sexual fuckboi that hits on every woman. I love that Fatou is soft and gentle. More lesbian rep like that please

I love the soundtrack. It’s exactly the type of stuff I imagine Fatou would listen to and it’s not just the top 100 hit songs.

I love that they use the soundtrack as a way to connect to the plot line, like the lyrics to the song Fatou was listening to when she was on the rooftop said “And I hate to leave you feeling all alone.But your story cannot start until you've grown. You can find how to be OK on your own. I just can't be the one that makes you feel at home” which was a hint as to where the plot was going

I love the little mannerisms Nhungi chooses to show as Kieu My. The happy little bounce she did in ep 1 when she called out Fatou’s name and when she subtly checked Fatou out by looking her up and down.

I love how their rooms show their individual personality so well. Like Fatou’s room in the beginning of the season was normal and then it became increasingly messy as the episodes moved forward, showing her stress and chaos in her life

I love the height difference between Fatou and her brother lol

I love when her brother and her were thinking of what to get their parents so they split the bill on a gift - a very subtle way of showing siblings interacting

I love when Fatou and Ismail interact cuz it’s so funny

I love the physics teachers speaking voice, he sounds like kermit the frog

I love fatou’s eyebrows. Idk it’s just so perfect. Give me tips plz

I love that the characters rewear clothing. And it’s not a show where every episode is a new outfit with new clothes. Very realistic and it always bothered me when teens on highschool on tv have new clothes every episode

I love that Fatou’s original bio on tinder was “wanna cuddle?”. I feel like that girl would rather cuddle with someone than win the lottery. She’s so soft (also why did it say she was 24 in ep 2 when she was on tinder lol)

I love that the show showed the struggles of coming from a bilingual family and being the only one that struggles to speak it. When fatou was talking to her grandparents with her brother and her brother had to translate for her and it was awkward af, I felt that. I’m the youngest in my family and I struggle to speak Tagalog so people have to translate for me sometimes and it sucks.

^^ I relate to fatou so much in that scene cuz the dynamic in my family is the same as Fatou’s. My parents lay off and let me and my brother do our thing unless there’s an indication we need their help. The only time I ever spoke about school with my family was when report cards would come and they would see my grades weren’t that good. I remember my mom seeing I had a D in middle school and automatically jumping to conclusiosn without letting me speak. My brother is academically successful and he would also try and get me to do more school stuff when I was younger. Like he would make me do math problems to help with my grades. So it’s all very relatable for me

I love when Fatou sings, her voice is so soft and smooth.

I love whenever Kieu My and fatou are flirting both so blatantly and yet so subtly. Like the tension is there but it’s still awkward despite how smooth they both try to be it’s so adorable

I love how Fatou and Kieu My are so confident flirting and talking to eachother through texting but when it’s irl it’s still awkward and new. It shows the reality of an actual relationship in the making. It’s not just a full head dive into “I love you”.

I love when they were at the table tennis bar place and Fatou was hyping up Ava when there were dudes looking at them and Ava did a fancy ass turn and smile. She’s so pretty

I love that Fatou’s problems were shown in subtle ways in the beginning with money. Counting money at her job and when she wa trying to pay for the drink at the bar. It was a small interaction but in real life it would cause a lot of stress and anxiety if money counting problems kept happening over and over again

I love Yara and Josh’s friendship. More platonic friendship between a male and a female please. Also more Yara in general please.

I love that Zoe owned up to her actions last year to the entire group (minus Ismail Constantine and Kieu my) on New Years. I see her owning up to the role as Nora’s big sister.

I love when Josh was drinking a lot during New Years and Fatou was trying to get him to slow down. It shows how big her heart is for her friends. Also I think Josh and Fatou could be great friends

I love that Kieu My looks at Fatou like she hung the stars. When Fatou mentioned she knew Kieu My was a Scorpio, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen that girl smiled so big (before episode 5 of course)

I love that whenever they kiss Kieu my is smiling.

I love Sira’s side profile. There I said it. Girl has the jawline of a Greek goddess.

I love that they change Fatou’s hair. She looks good in every hair style but it’s always nice to see her in different styles.

I love that they showed the struggles of being a passive and gentle person. Because we’re not assertive in regular everyday life we are easily looked over. And it’s hard for us to muster the gusto to be assertive and take what we need because we prefer shying away from conflict and just letting things flow. I relate to fatou’s character so much in that sense. I lowkey think this is the universe’s way of telling me to stop being so passive about life and to take charge idk.

I love that the topic of white savior and performative activism was touched on. And I love that it was between two friends because it’s very realistic to how dynamics work between young people these days. The way they handle it differs in opinion but the fact that they even spoke about it was great.

Finn being socially awkward. It’s so funny cuz Zoe is this bubbly party girl and her boyfriend is so awkward. Nice balance.

for hobbies I like to draw but I’m sorta shy to show people my drawings since it’s like all anime fanart lol but I do have a relatively successful art insta. Exemplar #1: F. B.

Not pleasant.

Every “strict conservative middle aged guy” stereotype in the book. Control freak, makes a mountain out of every molehill, sees the world as full of axe murderers, judgemental as fuck, horrible temper and yet completely impersonable, all his opinions are copypasted from right-wing news sites. When they say war is good he’s for war, and when they say war is bad he’ll be like “At least Trump did not start any more wars” without perceiving a contradiction. Despite this, he believes is very hot, principled and funny. He is none of these things. He puts people down nonstop. My knowledge of neurochemistry tells me that he must have emotions somewhere or he couldn’t function, but I ain’t ever seen a single one of those emotions. They’re all for his job and a few trusted mentor figures. And his mom. At least he loved her.

If you say anything he doesn’t like, he “throws the sofa out the window” as his wife once put it.

How he’s a Type 6:

Well, he’s pretty much every negative stereotype in a nutshell… other than distrusting his partner. But that might be cause hes sx blind, or cause the wife is big on monogamy & wouldn’t ever cheat.

The one positive trait of 6 that he has is that he does his research. Before moving anywhere he googles the crime rates and if you need a doctor he might find you the best one. But even that can be overriden by ideology (hydroxychloroquine!). And if you don’t take his exact advice, there goes the sofa out the window again…

And I guess the work ethic from all 3 parts of the trifix really comes through – he hasn’t had a single bad grade in his life and always keeps collecting new certifications, and will make sure you hear about it...

One online test she took gave her 5w6 instead of 6w5 but that’s probably just the ITxx-ness leaking in. I remember this one time we were discussing this artsy-fartsy theater play to which we’d had fascinatingly different reactions, and at one point I half-jokingly said something like “But does anyone ever really feel connected to others, or is that a myth?” to which she wrote, “[Name], what the fuck? Yes I do.” and then immediately deleted it. That’s more of a 6 reaction innit?

Nonetheless the wing does feature in significantly – for example she got very well informed about a lot of topics because she researched them to assuage a random survival-related fear, like, “How to make sure I have enough retirement money”

Precious! Sweet, nice, good listener, friendly, gives all the best gifts. But also perceptive and good at understanding people, eg. mediating to the parents when one of the younger sisters is having An Emotion™ or winning the trust of problem children.

Unlike I. Who has some soc that helps her keep track of a larger circle of friends despite her introversion, M. tends to enjoy the closeness with her family and have just a few very close friends. Excellent friend material all around! The sx and Se also come out in enjoying art forms involving the body like theatre or dance.

She can be a bit shy, conflict-avoidant and occasionally a lil bit panicky though.

As a small kid she used to be super duper shy but then a wise english teacher encouraged her to play a big role in a play, and since then she’s a lot more confident and doesn’t let ppl push her around without limit, though she’s still a quiet, helpful person. There you see the difference that a good teacher can make.

How she’s a Type 6:

For one thing she moves and emotes faster than a core 9 would, and she fits the body language – big eyes that move around a lot, stands a bit lopsided, talks in a shrill voice on the rare occasions where we exhaust her patience etc. As a xSFx and a w7 she shows mostly the “warm, friendly, likeable” side of type 6. She also has a very 6-ish tendency to very frequently ask people’s opinions & feedback before making decisions. (the other fixes probably add to this)

Alas, she also has a little bit of of the fear/insecurity.

Also she has a social/care job which might be seen as 6-ish desire to serve the community.

What she’s like:

The first adjective that usually comes to my mind is ‘cool’. Sassy, energetic & a little bit tough, but also affectionate when she wants to be. (though in admiring way rather than a mushy one)

She says the coolest things, has a certain sly sort of cleverness, and an astonishly good poker face. Bit of an occasional prankster. Hilarious. Knows all sort of cool science facts. Avid gamer. 

Not especially popular or over the top sociable, but she gets sad if no one pays attention to her a while. Will act visibly moody where ppl can see sad or worried and can catastrophize a bit in such situations.

How she’s a Type 6:

I first though we might be getting an ExxP type 7 since she was a pretty energetic child, but once puberty hit and independent thought manifested, she turned out a whole lot too reactive and ‘edgy’ for this, and more on the ‘moderate introvert’ side of things.

Since then the sisterly dynamic has been like one fluffy golden dog and 3 hissing black cats. Hissing Cats #1 and #2 are very proud of her, but cat #1 was forced to conclude that she’s probably not a positive outlook type.

Out of all the reactive types 6 fits best because she does broadcast group identity (like wearing merchandise of her favorite media and wearing buttons in solidarity with ppl she likes.) & has a big case of Big Sibling worship for M, I, and someone else who isn’t on this list due to being a 9. (a 4 or 8 might like their older siblings but probably wouldn’t constantly stress the admiration.), but she can also show lasting, pouty displeasure with authority figures who have slighted her. (Like that one time I went too far in teasing her...)

I’m just assuming the 8 fix because that tends to make 6s more bold, louder & more shameless.

Basically she is the “punk teen” type of 6. She can be a bit dramatic & over-the top but still come to her family on advice (even advice on pranks!) in ways that xSTPs of other enneagrams prolly wouldn’t.

She also tends to use self-deprecating humor in tough situations and deflects compliments to present herself as ‘ordinary’.

This may sound like I’m really getting down on my first example (I won’t pretend that I’m not) but the point in bringing him up is that the reason he’s like this is: He was subject to really bad parenting that put a lot of fear into him, there was no good parenting to teach him broader coping strategies, he lived in a crappy environment that crushed his dreams, in a sense ‘confirming’ those fears and making him double down, resulting in a person who is just always rigidly following the same predictable pattern or jumping from one automatic reaction to the next with very little pausing and thinking. That goes for the other types too: A ‘stereotypical’ person is a desperate person ruled by fear, who cant stop or soften up even for an instant cause they constantly feel this fire of threat under their arse.

A lot of descriptions say that 6s ‘Follow authority’ but most would balk at the notion – ‘I do the research!’ they might argue ‘I don’t just trust anyone’ or ‘I’m actually a rebel’. There is of course such a thing as denial  that’s more like the extreme case.

But with a more average, functional 6 it’s not so much ‘obedience’ as that they just like to bounce their ideas off of others to get feedback, or that they feature in other’s viewpoints. So you might get someone who can naturally use feedback (something other ppl may have to learn first) or who is very considerate of others (which others might have to consciously remind themselves to do.)

Those are sometimes pretty good traits actually.

On the other hand this is probably part of what makes decisions hard cause they consider all these possible scenarios of how things might displease or cause harm to everyone involved.

Being able to naturally snap into Action Mode under stress looks a bit enviable from the outside, but I. assures me that it’s actually super stressful & exhausting, even for someone who doesn’t get to a point of just being unreasonably aggro at you.

Though even an extreme case like F.B. would probably claim that he ‘did the research’ even as he’s 1:1 quoting the Pope at you, and then saying that you ‘have to be respectful’ even if you don’t even believe in Christianity. Hence why you get a lot of authoritarians talking about “disrespect”. You didn’t “fail to obey”, you “disrespected the flag” or  “hurt the feelings of the Chinese people”. Because they’re still trying or inwardly thinking that they’re doing the consideritation & considering other’s PoV thing when they’ve long since crossed from respect and consideration into mindless obedience, all while still thinking that they’re very sceptical and discerning cause after all they really distrust the other political party or whatever.  

In a way you get this obsession with ‘mind control’ cause they’re not unaware of & very much looking to guard the blind spot. They’re adults trying to do adult things.

For example, if I voiced an opinion to F. B. which he didn’t like, his reaction was often to ask “who told you that”

That’s just how he seems to think opinions work, somebody tells them to you.

Makes one wonder how he thinks new opinions start.

Yeah - Nobody told me that. I concocted it myself in some corner of my head. And in the interest of objectivity, I should stress that you can also end talking out of your ass that way, if you’re not basing it on enough outside data. Making up new shit has more of a quadratic than a linear learning curve – at least with copying you get something semi-useful right away. In making up your own you might be really off a long time before you stumble on something useful.

Also, I was young at the time and it’s not wholly unreasobale to think that an inexperienced person might be duped. I reacted really badly in part cause he hit my own ego buttons cause I was of course proud of this epiphany that I had concocted by myself, and now he says (or so I perceived it, being sensitive to accusations of incompetence) that I’m too dumb to form an opinion, so of course I launched into full Obnoxious Reddit Dude Mode.

In I. It manifests more on a reasonable useful level like “Oh wait, should [young cousin] be on TikTok? I don’t want him to get sucked into some cultish BS.” which is at least something the parents should have on the radar/ warn him about even if they do let him use TikTok, because for all that it is vital for him to get his experience with independent socializing & experimentig with sel-presentation, people do sometimes get suckered into cults or goaded into unsafe tests of courage.

And in a sense… maybe they overamphasize it but to some extent they’re also simply consciously aware/ mindful of it. The rest of us are not immune to propaganda after all, solong as it’s presented in a way pleasing to our egos. Any type structure can become a ‘hook’ if you’re not careful.

Summary: Y/N visits her boyfriend Hoseok after a stressful day. Once she steps in his presence, the waterworks start and from there, he takes care of Y/N.

Warnings: Angst on the reader’s part, naked ppl ;) but nothing seggsual, sad emotions :( but it’s okay because Hobi is here to comfort you

Y/N had just finished her shift at work after a gruelling study session at the library. Exams were coming up and work was kicking her ass. As hard as she was working, it just didn’t feel enough for her. Fears of not graduating with the degree she wanted, along with potentially getting fired from the newspaper agency, were eating her up. What Y/N really needed right now was love and a bit of coddling from her boyfriend Hoseok. 

The minute she stepped out of the building, she had texted Hoseok if it was alright for her to visit him and due to them not seeing each other for two weeks, he of course agreed. 

Standing right outside of his apartment’s door, Y/N holds the handle of the door in a death grip, trying her best to push her tears down as best as she could, not wanting Hoseok to see her in such a vulnerable and messy state. Opening the door ever so slowly, she creeps in, setting her bags on the floor. 

“Hobi, I’m here!” She calls out, taking off her shoes at the entrance. 

Hoseok walks out of his bedroom in a baggy shirt and a pair of grey sweats hanging low on his hips. He looks so good all the damn time. How does he do it? It’s taking Y/N everything in her power for her not to burst out crying, but the minute he flashes his dazzling smile and says, “Hey flower, how was your day?” she loses it. 

The emotions she’s been bottling up for the past few weeks let loose, her vision becoming increasingly blurry as she starts to bawl, falling to her knees on Hoseok’s hardwood floor. 

Hoseok guessed this would have happened sooner or later, judging from how distant but hardworking she’s been but upon seeing her tears track down her face, her body huddled into a small ball, his heart breaks into a million pieces. He rushes over to her, picking up her frail figure, and carries her to his couch. Hoseok caresses Y/N’s head, allowing her to nuzzle her face into his long neck as she sobs and sobs. 

“It’s alright flower, let it out. You’ve been so strong for me, don’t keep it in any longer.” He consoles, giving her a chaste kiss atop her head and gently patting her bum, rocking her in his arms like a baby. 

They stay like this for ten minutes as Y/N continues to cry, her body racked from her crying and face now puffy and red. She stops and no sound can be heard, leading Hoseok to assume that she’s fallen asleep. 

Carefully, he tries to get up from the couch to carry Y/N to his bedroom but is met with a meek, “Hobi, I’m so, so tired.” 

Pouting at her tiring claim, he replies, “I know, baby. We’re gonna go to bed right now so you can rest up.” 

“No, I’m not tired like that. I’m just...mentally exhausted.” 

Hoseok’s frown deepens. “You work so hard, flower. You’ve got to let yourself rest every once in a while.”

Y/N shakes her head, locks of her hair falling into her eyes. “You know I can’t do that. I’m so busy and-and I’ve got to keep track of all my work. If I stop to rest for even a day, I’ll fall behind.” 

An idea pops into Hoseok’s head. “Alright. Since you so willingly came to me, I’ll just have to force some relaxation into you.” 

“It’s not very relaxing if you have to…”

Hoseok interrupts his girlfriend with a sweet kiss on the mouth, careful not to stray the kiss into something not so deviant. “shhhhhh. Just trust me.” He mumbles into her mouth. 

With Y/N still clinging onto Hoseok, he carries her into the bathroom, carefully setting her on top of the sink. He rummages through the cabinet behind Y/N’s dangling legs, and from below her, she hears, “Lavender or Chamomile?” 

“Lavender or Chamomile what?” She asks, puzzled at her boyfriend’s odd behaviour. 

Hoseok pulls back from the cabinet and jeers, “Bubble bath, duh.”

“Oh...uhhhh lavender please.” 

Hoseok gets up from the floor, plugs the bathtub, and waits for the water to fill it a generous amount so he can dump in the bubble bath. 

Hoseok leaves and returns with an arm full of candles, placing them all over the bathroom and lights them one by one. Once he’s done, he spreads Y/N’s legs apart and stands between them, giving her another passionate kiss. “I love you so much, flower. Let me take care of you. Arms up, angel.” 

Y/N listens to his command and he begins to peel off her sweater, trailing soft kisses up her arms, shoulder, and collarbones. “Bum up, please.” 

He takes off her jeans, leaving even more kisses and caresses on her thighs and ankles. 

He draws back from Y/N and says, “Alright, I'll let you have some peace and quiet now. Call me when you're finished.”

He turns to leave but before he can do so, Y/N calls out, “Hobi, wait! Can you ermmmm…” she begins to trail off, shaking her head. “Nevermind.” 

“What is it, flower?” 

Y/N, sitting in her bra and underwear, looks down at her feet and shyly whispers, “I just...I was wondering if you could...bathe with me.” She looks up at him, her eyes sparkling with hope and a little bit of embarrassment.

“I don’t want to burden you. It’s a lot, really.” She objects, basking in the warmth of the water and the scent of the bubbles. 

Hoseok places his hand under Y/N’s chin and turns her head so she’s looking at him. “Look at me. Don’t ever think that you’re burdening me.” 

Y/N nods her head, burrowing her cheek on his chest. “Everything is so overwhelming. I feel so stupid in school even if I’m studying hard. I feel like I’m not doing enough at work even if I’m working my ass off every day. I’m working and working and it’s just not worth it. I’m so close to dropping out of university. My dream of becoming a journalist doesn’t feel like a dream any longer. It’s more like a chore.” 

Hoseok wraps his arms around Y/N and tuts. “I hope you know you’re the only one who sees that. I know, trust me Y/N I know that school is stressful but you’re passing and all your professors love your papers. You may feel like you're working a dead-end job but it’s only the first step to you achieving your dream. Your hard work isn’t going unnoticed, alright? If you were doing anything wrong, your boss or professors would call you out. You’re doing amazing. Don’t give up, flower, not when you’ve gotten this far.” 

“It’s too much, Hobi. I can’t handle it anymore.” She retaliates, trying to squirm free from his grasp. 

He holds her tighter, kissing her head. “You can and you will. I’ll be with you every step of the way, cheering you on and picking you up when you fall. I’m not going to sit here and watch as you give up your dream. I’ll support you and make sure you get to where you want to go. You just need to find a nice balance between life and work.” He smirks, pressing a long kiss to her lips and softly brushing his thumb over her cheek. “That’s where I come into play.” 

Y/N pulls always and playfully slaps his arm. “You creep! Can’t you keep it in your pants for once?” 

“That’s kinda hard to do when I’m sitting naked in a tub with my beautiful girlfriend.” 

Y/N flushes into a deep shade of red. “Jeez, way to ruin the moment.”

“I’m kidding...for now.” He purrs, hiding his devilish grin in their kiss. “What I'm not kidding about is making sure you’re getting rest and relaxing once in a while.” He puffs his chest out, forming his lips in a pout. “One day a week will be a certified Hobiday where I get to baby and cuddle you. Ah, ah, ah, no objections. I won’t listen.” He urges, pressing his hands over his ears. 

 Y/N turns around to face Hoseok in the tub so she can force his hands away. “Alright, alright. There’s really no point in fighting you about this.”

Hoseok perks up. “There really isn’t. Just you wait. Hobiday will be your favourite day of the week. Let’s get out before we prune up, hmmm?” 

Hoseok helps Y/N out of the tub and pats her dry with a towel, careful not to let his hands wander. 

“I can dry myself, Hobi.” Y/N whines. 

“I know you can. I just want to take care of you tonight.” 

The two get dressed and relocate to his bedroom, Y/N sitting on his bed and Hoseok standing in the doorway, drying his hair. 

“Have you been eating well?” He inquires. 

Ashamed, Y/N twiddles with her thumbs and replies, “Just instant ramen. I’ve been too busy to eat a real meal.” 

“You’ve been eating instant ramen for two whole weeks?!” 

Y/N shrugs her shoulders. “There’s nothing wrong with that. At least I ate something, right?”

“Uhhhhhh wrong??? That’s it. We’re ordering in tonight.” 

“It’s fine, I’ll eat something when I get home.” Y/N defends, hopping off the bed. 

“Home? You’re not going home tonight. We’re having a sleepover and don’t even think for a second that I’ll let you have another cup of ramen.” 

“It’s late and I’m exhausted, Hobi. I’ll see you tomorrow.” 

Hoseok shakes his head, walking towards Y/N and tackling her in a bear hug. Y/N struggles to roll on top of him, trying to break free. Instead, Hoseok pins her arms above her head with him straddling her hips. 

“Yeah it’s late, you dummy. I’m not letting you go. You can sleep here. We’ll eat good food, watch Netflix, and cuddle. Doesn't that sound nice?”

Y/N falters, eyes glueing onto Hoseok. “I don’t want to intrude.” 

He groans, brushing his hands over his face. “You’re not intruding. You know why?” He leans down to Y/N’s face. “Because. I. Love. You. So. Much.” He enunciates, peppering kisses across her cheeks after each word. “Now shut up and take my love.” 

Y/N stops fighting and gives in to Hoseok, allowing him to cuddle her and cover her face in kisses. 

“Thank you for making sure I don’t make any stupid mistake...and thank you for taking care of me. I love you to no end, Hoseok.”

He grins at her, replying with, “Of course, angel. That’s what your sunshine has to do hmm? I’ve got to make sure my beautiful flower grows strong. And in return you make me shine brighter.” 

The two touch foreheads and Y/N whispers once more, “I love you so much.” 

“I love you too, flower.” 

This was it. Y/N knew at this moment that Hoseok was her home, her comfort and that she’d always find her path back to him.

“Well I’m glad I could disappoint you.” He joked back. Their banter went on for a bit before they found a vip table to sit and talk. They talked about music and Jade was taken aback when Zabdiel admitted that he listened to her music.

“Wait really? Quick, what’s your favorite song?” Jade inquired.

“Oh that’s easy. Don’t Tempt me is by far my favorite song of yours. Your vocals were like fucking butter on that shit. I wanted to remix it when I first heard it.” Zab said.

“Well what stopped you?” Jade asked.

“I wanted you to sing on it.” Zabdiel said. Jade smiled at that and finished off her drink. After talking for a little bit more. Zabdiel and Jade made their rounds then dipped from the party.

My take on a Genshin Impact Circus AU Part 4 with Noelle as a strongwoman and Amber as a death-defying archery stuntwoman. Their backstories are under the cut!

Noelle:

First off I have a very self-indulgent headcanon that she is ridiculously strong. Like. Can benchpress people. Canonverse or AU.

She used to help out around the circus and she was kind of indifferent to the fact that she was likely going to be a maid. It's a respectable profession. And helping out at her childhood friends' (Kaeya and Diluc) manor as she'd been born into doing seemed like a good job.

How she got into the circus life requires a bit of backstory. Back when they were kids, Kaeya, Diluc, and Noelle would mess around (as kids do) and have little challenges for themselves. Who can run the fastest, who can do the best cartwheel, who can jump the highest, and the like.

Noelle got a little hesitant as she got into her early teens bc she was always told to be ladylike, so she spent one or two of their hangout sessions watching Kaeya and Diluc and talking. One day, however, Kaeya and Diluc are being Teenage Boys and lifting heavy things trying to outlift each other. Noelle has lifted furniture when cleaning up after these two so she figures this one unladylike thing would be okay.

She comes up behind them and just. Picks them both up. On top of the things they were lifting already. Kaeya and Diluc have to take a second and just look at her like "yeah no you are never sitting out of our competitions again"

And so they try other things like cartwheels and tests of courage like who can climb the highest on a tree and things are back to normal.

Skip forward a few years and Crepus dies. There's a huge mystery around it that not even his son's attendants are privy to. The only thing people know is that the sons have been sent away to boarding school. The whole manor is abandoned, all the workers fired.

Noelle for the next few years spends her time working at laundromats, and other odd jobs, but eventually she runs out of luck and suddenly there's too many people and not enough opportunities.

One of her friends from one of her old jobs invites her to go out and see this new circus that happens to be in town. She goes because why not. And wouldn't you know it one of the acts is her childhood friends doing these death-defying stunts that hit her with a wave of nostalgia bc their entire act consists of essentially the song "anything you can do" but with more and more dangerous stunts.

Noelle of course has to say hi, so they catch up and Noelle's lack of work comes up and would you look at that Aether and Lumine happen to have an opening for a maid.

So Noelle settles in, continuing to lift heavy shit to clean under it (Bennett swears up and down he saw her lift a fridge once but he might've been sleep-deprived). She also got into helping Chongyun with the techy stuff so sometimes she'll be at tech rehearsals moving things around and one time a rope holding up a person breaks near Noelle and she. catches it.

Now, one night. One of the acts drops out at the last moment bc injury or last-minute commitment or the like. And it leaves a gap in the show. Everyone else is busy. And panicking bc the circus is still relatively new and they really need to build their rep rn.

They start wondering what kind of last-minute acts they can put together like "what about the gymnasts??" "They all have group routines" "do they have old routines??" "Not polished enough for what we need" and someone somewhere pipes up "man I wish we had a strongman or something" and Diluc and Kaeya immediately whip their heads around to look at each other for like half a second before Kaeya bolts. He finds Noelle doing her usual rounds she's been doing for like a month now and Bennett was right, she is currently under a mini-fridge that she is lifting over her head whilst leaning it against a wall.

Kaeya takes Noelle by the shoulders and just zooms her over to where the commotion is happening and pitches the idea to Aether and Lumine. They're hesitant as hECK bc this is a huge risk they're taking since Noelle isn't even a performer but Diluc pitches that they could literally just scatter really heavy items and have Noelle clean under them and as long as she looks at the audience every once in a while it can be played off as a bit.

Noelle with qUITE the stammer says that she'll try her best but at this time is in need of a moment. She has never performed before. Kaeya and Diluc have to go perform so they leave her with a shoulder squeeze and a thumbs up.

She gets on-stage. She flinches under the lights for a second. She takes a deep breath and focuses on the first thing before her with her best "oh heavens, it's filthy in here", and she gets through the entire act by doing that for every object. So the audience is seeing this seemingly petite young girl lift the equivalent of a hecking car in order to clean under it.

Needless to say, there's roaring applause the second Noelle leaves (which she hears from far away because holy shit I just cleaned for people and they liked it)

This was a bit of a one-time thing and she goes back to her regular maid duties until the circus gets a new strongman by the name "Zhongli".

His style is more about lifting exTREMELY LARGE ROCKS, and breaking them in half whilst giving a history/geology lesson on them.

He quietly observes the maid who he hears fantastical stories of That One Time She Charmed An Audience By Cleaning. He was bewildered at first but saw the merit of it while watching her clean. He immediately decides that this girl has sO MUCH. POTENTIAL that is being wasted by having her work as a maid. He has nothing against maids or their profession, but he invites her to train with him.

Noelle gets hELLA stronger and they come to a conclusion. Noelle performs part-time and is a maid part-time. She doesn't have a particular performance style. She'll sometimes play catch with Zhongli and his big rocks, other times she'll be in the background of performers like Amber in the art lifting some hEAVY SHIT.

She gets along with Chongyun super well bc Chongyun has to make less trips to move his equipment since he's worked with her. She's a blessing for when they have to pack up and move.

Amber:

Amber's story is a little more straightforward. She started out engaged to a suitor. Amber was the kid in kindergarten who was learning about dragons and "idk what everyone else was doing". She's known what she wants for a long time, and what she wants at the moment, is not a relationship.

Throughout her childhood she was a very lonely child. Her family exposed her to lots of academic or ladylike things (do not ask me when this au is set, it's the 1800s and the 1990s at the same time or a suspendes steampunk time) to get her away from the thing she liked most: archery. She'd been exposed to it as a kid and latched on.

This drove a bunch of suitors away, so her family got more desperate and exposed her to more classes and activities to get her away from it. She went "that's easy, I'll just practice at night"

So she does that. She practices at night and underperforms in the coming weeks. It is during this time that her parents (high class ppl) find her a man to marry for some business deal idk.

The man's nice enough. It's just obvious he can only take Amber in small doses, and Amber takes full advantage of this to practice and stay in shape.

How Amber gets into the circus life was essentially running away. She bonds with Eula over this.

So because of all the attempts to make her fit into the ideal lady description, her rebellious streak said "yeah we're going to go as far away from that as possible" and she goes "I'm going to run away with the circus" bc that's what the books she's read say is the most rebellious thing you can do.

She finds THE FIRST circus she sees and begs to be let in. This is the shadiest most sketchy place but Amber sees it as the key to her freedom. She signs a contract.

They treat her like the US treats their students. She barely gets time to practice for performances and she's mostly doing dirty work. When they ask her what she can do she's like "I'm really good at archery" and they go "cool, you're going to be doing that while everything is on fire now. Can you do a handstand"

Essentially they push her and push her and push her to do more and more hazardous things she has to pick up on under the threat of being kicked to the curb.

After a while of this Amber is extremely burned out (pun intended) and as she's packing up after one of her shows, covered in burns but proud bc she hit all her targets without killing anyone, she's approached by a blond foreigner.

Tbh for all she's read, Amber really doesn't consider leaving and this time she can't run away since she's now bound by a contract (not Zhongli's btw in case anyone was wondering).

This foreigner tells her that there's so many ways to improve her situation and that he runs a circus looking for members.

Amber refuses since she's not getting tangled up in another legal mess, but she takes his advice on how to take care of her burns, and improve safety while she's performing.

Skip a few months. She hears word of this mysterious new circus around. Her encounter with who she'll later know as Aether stuck with her, and so she goes. To see whether she could really shoot her arrows without being burned alive.

After a show one night, she tries to get past security and fails repeatedly. She turns to leave and wouldn't you know it there's Aether. And Lumine. Waiting for her once she turns the corner. Amber's biggest concern is her existing contract and when Aether and Lumine say they have a nICE lawyer, Amber sees her next step to freedom.

Aether and Lumine essentially gain custody of Amber (but like for adults) and Amber is. Shocked. She's walked through her new contract of employment clearly and essentially treated like a human being.

And now that she knows things and has more freedom (though still under the watchful eyes of Aether and Lumine to see how she does) her creativity and competitive streak flourish. She decides she actually doesn't hate fire, she just doesn't like when she doesn't know when or where it's coming. And she makes fast friends with the gymnasts, so she ends up incorporating that into her routines. Now she uses her canon goggles to protect her from the burning eyes of prolonged smoke exposure when she uses fire.

When she meets a little pyromanic girl named Klee, she's thrilled that someone this chaotic and sure of herself exists.

so you annoyed sirius at first bc you were trying to figure him out. you asked him lots of questions and tried to get under his skin bc you knew he was more than just the gryffindor playboy who occasionally plays pranks. (spoiler alert: you were right lol). you also had a slight crush on him, which caused you to want to talk to him a lot. and honestly, he liked you too, he just hated that you were trying to figure him out. he wanted to remain mysterious, but once you two became a couple, he knew that wouldn’t happen. you were the first one to ask him out. it was kind of out of a dare from your friends and his friends bc they teased you two a lot, and his friends knew youd kill him w your questions. so you asked him out casually and he agreed. he ended up setting up the date and it actually turned out a lot more romantic than you thought lol. he ended up setting up a little picnic under the stars by the black lake. he made your favorite dishes and you were very very impressed. you two ended up learning a lot about each other and sirius fell haaaarrrdd that night. he learned what your favorite songs were, your dream job, what zodiac signs you hate, your family history and personal life. he was a big talker himself, but that night he just let you take control of the convo bc he loves your voice. he thinks its so cute when youre excited abt the topic too. you were ranking your favorite movies from worse to best, and whenever you got to the best ones, your eyes would light up and you would squeal and your whole body would shake in excitement and it just made sirius smile so much. like by the end of the night, his cheeks were numb. you two ended up turning on music, your fav ofc and you introduced him to a lot of r&b and bedroom pop and he is a proud supporter of destiny’s child and wallows. you two laid on the blanket and looked at the stars. you started talking again abt astrology and stuff and sirius even took a turn in talking abt astrology and it really surprised u and def made you 10000x more attracted to him hehe. the night ended w him walking you back to your house and a sweet goodnight kiss and him asking you to be his girlfriend. awe! you two are the hottest and loudest couple ever lol. you two often play pranks on each other, sirius teaches you eletric guitar to your fav rock songs, you end up making him take a personality test hehe. he wasnt very political before but you turned him into a polite - most of the time - politician. you two know all the facts and always win the arguments. (or end up hexing ppl lol). you two are al all-around supportive, loyal, fun, and loving couple. and though your personalities may clash (you blame it on the zodiac signs hehe), you two are soulmates and wouldn’t change a thing abt each other <3

Can I just say that Habs “fans” who act like Carey Price’s contract is somehow patient zero of all this team’s problems drive me absolutely fucking insane? Seriously. Buckle up. This is about to be a rant.

Now. First things first. Is it ideal that the $10 million goalie is currently uh, not doing very good? Fucking NO! I am disappointed as shit with that and I don’t like seeing him struggle. I know he can be better. He has to be better. Obviously.

However. That being said.

Do I think it’s an incredibly stupid look to spend several tweets complaining about all the issues Habs defence have been having, and then also griping that they haven’t started Jake Allen enough for how he’s performing, only to then for some inexplicable reason state that the FIRST THING, the first thing that needs to be dealt with after the new coaching staff have had ONE GAME (and zero practices) to work on things, is somehow “well, the ten million dollar man in net is weighing them down, that contract has gotta go!”?

Yes! That’s stupid!!

I think that’s a very ice cold small-brain take, and not just because Price is my favourite of favourites for as long as I’ve been a hockey fan! I have reasons, dammit!! I put THOUGHT into this!!

Here, dear ppl of Habs twitter who will never read this, are some reasons why this narrative you’re concocting is dumb, and why management/coaching are unlikely to think of trying to ditch Price mid-season to fix the current problems:

1: Time. It has been one (1) game under Ducharme. He has been able to run zero (0) full practices on off days with the team. We just changed up a major piece on the Habs chess board — why don’t you give it a minute to see what fresh eyes and minds can do with this roster before you decide we are fucked? This season is fast-moving, sure, but there is time for us to ride out some little bumps here and still make a playoff spot in this Canadian division. Have patience. Do you remember what patience is? Dom is a new head coach, not a wish-granting fairy godmother. Chill. Do you remember chill?

(rest of this under a cut because I actually LIKE Habs Tumblr, and I want to be nice to you all by not making you scroll past all of it if you don’t want to)

2: Jake Allen exists. There are a couple of things I like for what this means for the Habs. Firstly, for basically the first time in his NHL career, we are not in a situation where if Carey Price is in a slump, we have to go “Ah, shit, so now our options are let his stats tank while he tries to get the groove back in net, OR throw whoever the poor backup is out there to get murdered while we plummet through the standings.... 😬” We don’t have that problem right now, because the backup is... actually good? Oh my god, the backup is actually good! Thank fuck! We’re not doomed. If I’m Ducharme, I put Allen in net for a few consecutive starts to put a solid backstop behind all my fun experiments I’m probably planning with the skating roster (to catch their slip-ups, while also giving Carey lots of time and rest with which to work hard on sorting out whatever his issue is along with the goalie coaches).

2b: Jake Allen exists and is competition. Hell, if I’m Ducharme, maybe I even play a little hardball and say “Look, Carey, I don’t want you to be an expensive benchwarmer, but if things don’t pick up soon I am going to start whoever is doing best and you will have to compete for that net.” Related to my last point, when was the last time Carey Price had to push himself to compete for net time against anything other than his own injuries, and wasn’t simply always the default starter? Has that EVER been a thing? Honestly as much as I love the idea of him being The Goalie for the Habs, I also kinda like this idea a lot because I think it could really push him to a higher standard of performance. Maybe that kind of high-pressure situation (given how much he thrives in the pressure-cooker of the playoffs) could be what he NEEDS in order to Be Carey Price again. Worst comes to worst, he doesn’t respond to that challenge, and I am very sad but the Habs have a good goalie in net anyway, because Hallelujah, Jake Allen exists! God, isn’t it nice to have Jake Allen? Bless him.

3: Money. Guys, this league is so broke right now. Seriously. Seriously. Nobody has any fucking money. The Habs probably have more money than most teams, and that does not help when it comes to offloading large contracts. Trades are a NIGHTMARE both because of the flat cap but also because travel is complicated (especially cross-border) but also nobody wants to trade within their division if possible because all your games are against them. Who in the name of fuck do you think is jumping at the idea of taking the $10 million per through 20-lots-and-lots-of-years-from-now contract of a goalie who is currently struggling, impressive past record aside? What kind of astral plane of fantasy hockey are you on to think there’s a trade out there for that within this season. Shut up. And no, don’t bring up the expansion draft, this post is a rebuttal SPECIFICALLY to the people who think that Price and his contract are the biggest problem that needs to be dealt with RIGHT NOW and first on the list of ways to immediately remedy the team’s struggles.

4: Spite. Specifically to piss you off, bud. You personally.

5: Knowing how to troubleshoot properly. Fellas, if my computer is running slowly and freezing up a lot, do I immediately decide the first step to fixing it is to crack open the chassis, remove the hard drive, and try to sell that hard drive to someone to see if I can enough money back to somehow get a better hard drive for less? No, dipshit. That’s not how troubleshooting a complex system works works. It’s the same with hockey teams. Ah, my star goalie is not performing great. This situation is deeply less than ideal. If you’re actually good at troubleshooting, the first thing you do is not “WELL. I GUESS WE’LL HAVE TO THROW THE WHOLE GOALIE OUT. HE’S TOAST.” The first thing you do, if you’re a smart coach, is you say “Okay, what are my defence doing in front of him? What are they doing to reduce the amount and quality of our opponents’ scoring chances? Oh. Oh, they’re taking a lot of penalties, and... oh, uh, some of this is very not great. Yikes.” And then you start your work by trying to make the defence actually work instead of running the same Pairs That Everyone Is Very Much Over And Tired Of, because your goalie is actually supposed to be your Last Line of Defence. And maybe during that time you give more starts to Goalie Who Is Absolutely Slaying It, so that when you start trying new D-pairs and they inevitably have some mistakes, it doesn’t immediately turn into an Oh God Holy Fuck moment every time, because that last line of defence backstopping them is solid. The reason you need to deal with defense first is because a) You know you have a reliable goalie (Allen) in your pocket right now if you need him. What you don’t have is a whole-ass proven and tested and practiced Backup D-Core you can swap into the roster in front of your goalies to make their lives easier. Fix your defense and it WILL improve your goalies, even marginally. Defrag the hard drive before you ask why it’s not working. and b) If you need to go looking for any new D-men to solve the issues, those are WAY easier and cheaper to find than top-tier goalies, and you always want to start any troubleshooting process with trying the simplest solutions first to hopefully save time and money. The better that D-core is, the less it fucks your team over if the goalie isn’t feeling themselves, because the D is going to stop more of those pucks before they ever even become the goalie’s problem. FIX. DEFENCE. FIRST. Then try to train your goalie back into top form. THEN explore your other options.

6: The vicious cycle. Guys. We literally do this once every year or second year. EVERY time Carey Price has a slump, this fanbase gets into a tizzy like the Bell Centre is burning down and he was the one with the matches. And what ALWAYS happens literally within the year, every single time? He gets his mojo back like he did last summer in the bubble and goes on a heater and everybody goes “JESUS PRICE!!!! 🙌” and is ready to name their firstborn kid after him. Until eventually that performance becomes unsustainable, and he becomes mortal again, and suddenly he’s The Real Problem With This Franchise once again. I know he’s the guy they chose to build the team around instead of a superstar forward, but oh my god folks. You’d think he was the only player on the team. Guys, I feel like fucking Sisyphus pushing a blue blanc et rouge boulder up Mont Royal once a year with this shit. This man’s entire career has been a constant seesaw narrative between “Carey Price is our saviour!” and “Carey Price should be exiled to Nome!!!!” from parts of this fanbase, I swear. Look, slumps suck, but for once we are actually lucky enough to be in a position where this team, for the first time in YEARS, does not solelylive or die by the inscrutable magical cycles of Carey Price’s goalie powers — because when he has to step back and work to get back into his groove, there is FINALLY a SECOND GUY who is GREAT. Honestly, given that the state of this team for so long has been “they will go as far as Carey Price can take them” and he has put in a pretty fucking decent job of it despite all of the team’s other struggles, I feel like it is owed it to the guy to be like “Okay, well, we have somebody else solid to fill the net right now, and a chance to really figure out our defence and special teams with this new coach. Why don’t you take a step back and work your ass off at trying to get back into the form I know you can still perform at, and we’ll go from there?”

Anyway. Some parts of this fanbase have been waiting for a fresh excuse to claim Price is overrated, washed-up, and to blame for all of this team’s flaws and ills ever since he signed that contract, if not since the start of his NHL career. Just unreal how nasty some of this fanbase is willing to be about a player who is ON. YOUR. TEAM.

Am I saying he is beyond critique of his play and can do no wrong and his contract is perfect? No! I want this team to have the best goaltending it can get, and I want them to kick ass and take names. The difference is, I still believe Carey Price is a part of that winning formula, and I also think Twitter is overflowing with idiots who just repeat what everybody else says. He’s still a better goalie than your ass would be if I stuck you out there to stop shots from Mark Schieffle, for crap’s sake.

What I post: Ufffffffff. Everything and anything that touches or inspires me, I guess? The content here that I reblog is as eclectic as my music tastes. We got witchy stuff, fandom stuff, quotes, life lessons, you name it. I did finally get around to making an additional blog to reblog all of the wonderful pieces of fan content here and leave a comment because till now I have been very neglectful of that. But that is another story...

OKAY SO I actually made a masterpost type thing of reasons that I ship hevans, which you can find here

BUT I WILL ADD TO THAT LIST OF THINGS! I also love how the au's aren't that far removed from canon. Like. A secret relationship when they're living together in s3? Yes please! It's not too crazy to think about model!sam x vogue!kurt, swimmer!sam x kurt , & jock!sam x cheerio!kurt. These tropes all take from things that are canon, which is something that I love. You don't have to change a whole character and their interests to write stuff.

Bestie, on the moment that made me realize I ship them... I'm sorry to say this but I used to... really not like Hevans. Like before I came onto Glee Tumblr, I used to lurk on Glee Instagram and whenever ppl posted about Hevans on there, I was like "Okay... and... what's even the point" (but then again I didn't ship any crackship/non-canon ship at the time). BUT OH GOSH then I joined the Glee fandom on here... and I remember searching through the Hevans tag bc #yolo & after scrolling past the third gifset, I was like "Fuck, I think I ship them now."

On top of that, I think what really got me hooked wasn't the canon scenes (although I do love those so much), but it was the thought of how much they would help each other grow as people. Like if you look at Kurt and Sam, they are both rocks for people in there life and are always there for them... but they don't get much of that reciprocated. Like we don't see Kurt asking for help with things he's struggling with past s2x06. AND! That's especially seen with his father's health problems. Sam has been through family troubles too, he knows how hard it is to ask for help and I think he would encourage Kurt to open up to people and not internalize all of the pain he's going through. And okay this part is canon, but Kurt helped Sam so much when he was homeless. Like Kurt was selfless enough to go out of his way and help out Sam when he was at his lowest, that shit gets me right in the heart. I just think they would be great for each other and encourage each other to be the best versions of themselves.

My favorite canon moments would probably have to be when Sam fought Karofsky for Kurt and deadass everything in season 6. On fighting Karofsky, I know that Kurt doesn't need anyone to defend his honor, but try to look me in the eyes and tell me it isn't fruity to get into a fistfight for a guy that you've just met. Like Sam barely knows Kurt, but here he us throwing punches in the locker room. It's just all in how much Sam must have cared about Kurt to do that for him.

And on the s6 scenes..... OH BOY.... Hevans should have dated in s6. Like okay okay 1) that scene where they're talking to everyone about a plan to bring Rachel back to New York. How Sam keeps on looking at Kurt.... and they way they turn to look at each other.... wow I love them. Oh and dear God, I die a little bit every time when I see that shot where Sam brushes his hand across Kurt's arm... please kiss already. And idk man just the thought of Sam and Kurt hanging out after work (maybe at the Lima Bean) and coming up with a plan to help out one of their friends get her life back on track. They're both such caring people and work so hard to make those that they love happy.

- Kurt babysat Stevie and Stacy alongside Quinn.

- The reason why Kurt wasn't in that video about how great Sam is, is because Kurt put together something special for him that was super personal. It's a list of reasons why Kurt loves Sam... they're broken up at the time so Sam seeing how Kurt wrote "loves" instead of "loved" makes him fight to get back together with Kurt. So not only does this list of things give Sam motivation to not give up in life, but he also gets a boyfriend out of it.

- Kurt helped Sam touch up his roots and trimmed his hair.

- Branching off of what I said earlier about Sam and Kurt meeting at the Lima Bean to conspire about how to help Rachel, they played footsie underneath the table. And it took all of their strength to not reach over and hold each other's hands on top of the table... bc they didn't know if their relationship was at the point yet of holding hands so casually.

- Kurt bought Sam those soda and candy flavored chapsticks from Claires. Kurt ended up loving the scents of some of them and stole them for himself... but Sam could tell right away that Kurt stole them based off of the flavor of his lips.

- They're both huge Taylor fans and made sure to go to every show together, even when if they were on a break. (This is based off of Kurt's love for female artists & Sam's love for country).

- Carole knew they were dating before they told anyone about their relationship. Burt sensed there was a new boy in Kurt's life, based off of how he was acting, but didn't know who. Carole could tell it was Sam because of how Kurt always suddenly wanted to hang out with Finn when Sam came over to play video games.

- Kurt helped Sam get some modeling jobs through his Vogue connections before he quit modeling... Isabelle absolutely adored Sam and wanted to hire him on as a full time model.
