whatchu thinking about. nothing? just the changes to garys design and his character evolution and growth and everything. 24/7. you know. and the fact that even if he changed, hes still the same at his core!
#pics stolen from pinterest#i need to make my own screenshots.. i do have plenty actually just all on my pc so#none on my phone to use on the go#anyway#cough#i love you gary fischer đ«¶#not a self shipper in this case so im not simping i just love his character so much. like his physical traits show one thing but hes not#just that hes very sweet and loyal and i love how hes also still a big nerd and the way hes not written as just some killing machine but#actually the opposite. im saying this cause on my first watch i thought he had a full 180 but thats not the case as i learned later on#and thats also why i love him#and then also the details such as him knowing the perfumes and stuff. hc he knows how to cook well and knows food too#based on stuff from the show#and also his relationships with people. hes like the true core of the show to me with his growth and his connections#being besties with the monarch but also being friends with hank and id even say brock? brock definitely respects him!! and hatred#its so cool. i love this guy#thoughts are being thunk#vbros#that aside i love how the style of the show changed and i love both the simpler cartoony look from the start bur#but i also love the later more uniform slightly more realistic look which goes well with what i would say a more serious approach#like its still a funny show but to me it got more serious and sincere and personal.. always has been its just turned that up. i think?

semi-organised thoughts on the new smiling friends episode
I guess this episode is kinda controversial in the general Internet sphere. I haven't really looked into the stuff that people like or dislike about it, but my friends and I had opinions on it because we watched it together and I figure I'll just get this out of the way in case the discourse becomes poisoned.
Let's start with the stuff I liked about this episode! I really love the general commitment to the bit of 'dramatic slow zoom on a character to let you know we're being SERIOUS and DRAMATIC' which is obviously ripped right off of Family Guy except Zach and Michael are taking the piss. It's always pretty funny when it comes up.
As usual, the character animation is always very expressive while being simple. I love the little snippet at the end where Charlie and Pim sort of elbow each other in a 'haha, you scamp, you got me' way. It's charming. This is what Smiling Friends always does well despite its commitment to terminal irony-poisoning; even if the character moments are meant to set up a joke, they do feel very genuine and provide a sense of pathos. Do you think Charlie and Pim ever explored each other's bodies?
Those are the two standout "likes" about this episode, sadly. I exhaled air at some of the one-off jokes, but it feels like this episode's humour was kind of weaksauce in that it couldn't decide to commit to sudden, shocking sincerity or really pile on the 'we're not taking this seriously and that's why you love it, fuck you'.
I guess the reason the humour feels like it can't commit is the nature of the subject. The writing of the episode is uncertain as to who it wants to condemn the most, and while the jokes are very on-the-nose (you can tell exactly who's a stand-in for who), they have just enough edge sanded off that it feels kind of feeble when they're made. Take, for example, President Jimble going to a press conference and inadvertently praising a bloodthirsty dictator slaughtering an entire ethnic group. This is obviously a dig at Joe Biden being Benjamin Netanyahu's strongest soldier, but the bloodthirsty dictator is a little cartoon character who looks like nobody in particular (or at least, he doesn't really look like Netanyahu to me). There's a brief cutaway to a bunch of little gnome people being brutally slaughtered by war machines, but the vague Bavarian aesthetic of these gnome people is distinctly the opposite of anything Palestinian, so much so I have a feeling it was deliberate.
To bring up Family Guy again, part of the reason some of Family Guy's old bits still hold up today is that they will tell you exactly who they're talking about, caricatures and all. They want you to know who they're mocking, no pussyfooting about it! I think Zach and Michael try to avoid this specificity in their writing because Family Guy jumped the shark a long time ago (and watching OneyPlays episodes where Zach features makes it pretty obvious he thinks so) and they're deliberately trying to shy away from "Family Guy"-ism. This is also why people like Smiling Friends, because it's not just another played-out adult cartoon.
Ironically I think some of this episode's humour was pretty Family Guy-ish, particularly the gross-out humour around the whole Jimble shitting his pants thing. My friend noted that while he doesn't mind the occasional bit of gross-out humour, seeing it live-action makes it feel a little grimier and more uncomfortable. You could argue it's the point, and maybe it is, but it personally wasn't my thing. YMMV!
I think because of the general wishy-washiness of the humour, the "CNN worm cabal", as my friends and I called it, comes off less like taking the piss and more like an actual anti-Semitic dogwhistle. Having the little worm cabal randomly show up and offer to indoctrinate Charlie is funny and almost feels a bit like Futurama, but having that immediately transition to "the worms control the media" made me raise my eyebrows.
The reason I think it's a piss-take that landed kinda awkwardly is because Lisa Tomar (the wife of Joshua Tomar, Known Jewish Guy and voice actor) is the director of the episode. I'm not sure if she's actually Jewish herself, but since Joshua Tomar has played older Glep saying "Christianity is actually real, and every other religion is wrong" as the other punchline of "Charlie Dies and Doesn't Come Back", I feel like the attitude expressed here is not serious.
Overall: ehhhhh? Not the strongest episode. I really fucking hate the "satire requires clarity of purpose" meme, but it feels like the jokes and the overall punchline of the episode did require a little more clarity to land correctly.

Leon's personality "change" between RE2 & RE4
Disclaimer: I'm not a huge fan of the remakes so I don't really take them as 100% canon. When reading this, understand that I'm taking parts from both the ogs and the remakes, but primarily the og games. (TD;DR is at the bottom of the post)
Something that's been on my mind a lot lately is how we went from heart-on-his-sleeve, genuine RE2 Leon to loud, confident, sassy RE4 Leon.
RE4 got me into resi as a kid and remains my favorite game in the franchise. HOWEVER, it's pretty clear (on first inspection) that RE4 Leon is an outlier in the character's development.
In RE2 we get to see rookie cop Leon. I've seen a lot of people claim that og RE2 Leon doesn't have much of a personality but I'd have to disagree. Its abundantly clear that Leon is incredibly pragmatic, a very quick thinker, quite friendly and seems to be able to work well with just about anyone, he even kneels down to get on people's level. Often it seems more like he was trained as an EMT than a cop.
He doesn't approach strangers w a gun. He's so sincere and almost gullible in his faith in other people. That's not to say that he's stupid, he doesn't immediately trust people including Ada (although some folks wanna act like Leon is some lost puppy dog with 0 self-preservation skills). In a lot of ways he comes off a lot like a shonen mc despite him being so snarky. If anything, the closest comparisons I can think of are characters like Percy Jackson or early (comics-era) Peter Parker. All genuine, kind, smart people who are also spunky and funny. He stands his ground, voices his opinion, and is driven by duty. Yes, he's logical and level-headed and pleasant/easily digestible but he's definitely a big personality and a strong character. Practical =/= Boring.
I can't say that much of this changes going into RE4. The only real difference is that he's less gullible and sincere which definitely doesn't feel like its coming out of nowhere. He is 6 years older to be fair and while we only know of Operation Javier between the two installments, we know Leon gets sent on other missions... despite none of them being directly connected to BOWs until OJ. He's been trained by the military which is absolutely part of why he's less gullible other than the obvious reasons. And even then, he's so quick to untie Luis, despite not knowing if he's armed or dangerous, doesn't question the medicine Luis gives them, trusts Ada's intel for some reason, and still considers Krauser a good guy.
Leon was lied to by Ada, who he wanted to protect, and was left feeling used and betrayed. Only to be abandoned by Claire and had to look after the recently orphaned Sherry alone. That, plus the training would make him grow up quick... So what we're left with is the same old snarky, idealistic, but duty-driven Leon who is only a bit more grounded in reality/jaded.
It's also my opinion that all his cheesy one-liners is more than just a way to cope with stress.
Really think about how military training is meant to strip you of personality... It'd make sense that on solo missions he'd finally have the space to let his personality show. He has to hide it so much, ofc he'd be extra when there's no higher-ups to keep him in place. The thing that really hammers it home for me is that he tends to act a lot more serious when there's other agents/military involved. In both Degeneration and Operation Javier, Leon isn't funny. Even in most of Infinite Darkness he keeps his jokes to himself. He's been silly/campy since day one, it's just time and place and RE4 was the right time and place to let his personality shine (especially with all the other big personalities around him).
Leon's personality "change" just seems like a natural progression in response to his environment.
speaking of natural personality changes... I think Krauser and Luis's deaths really messed Leon up. In one day, Leon has to watch so many people die all over again. Innocent villagers slaughtered at his hand. I can imagine that knowing the parasite could be removed and that the villagers were tricked didn't sit easy on his mind either. Like yeah he gets Ashley home but that's one person saved vs the ~1000 that died. Krauser and Luis were important to him in different ways and in the end, things ended up just like Raccoon.
I think that's when it truly starts to set in for Leon that he's just as helpless as everyone else and what he's doing isn't much in the grand scheme of things... Not that he has a choice to stop. It also very easily explains why Leon starts to get more serious as time goes on. Fundamentally, he never really changes the part of him that gets easily attached and cares deeply about the lives of others, but as he ages, it gets harder for him to believe that what he's doing matters since nothing changes.
TD;DR: At the end of the day Leon's personality in RE4 isn't an outlier in his development, but likely of one of the last moments his personality gets to shine without as heavy a burden on his shoulders as he has later in his life. He was been always sassy and kinda campy since day one and him being the way he is in RE4 makes a lot of sense, even though he gets more serious in later installments.

I've been thinking back to Shadowhunters TV for about a week every now and then because while DBD reminds me of DGHDA by its vibes the most, there was only one other show that had such a healing effect on me as DBD, and it's Shadowhunters.
There was a queer romance as one of the VERY main plotlines, and malec were THE healthy couple while others had their issues. (Not that malec didn't but theirs were of a very different kind.) There was unrecruited love, attempted best friends to lovers (I can't stand this trope for personal reasons and SH only backed up the way I felt - funny how this doesn't make DBD any worse for me though), gay coming out, TONS of serious questions like xenophobia being addressed, idk I can't list it all, there are just too many. But the fact is, it was just as honest and heartfelt and kind and I kept coming back to it to reflect on my life, just like with DBD now. I watched it in spring, just as the last episodes were airing, and it was a very difficult time for me - I was recovering from yet another burntout and Shadowhunters gave me hope and the feeling of a new beginning. I still remember it vividly and love the characters. It was a magical experience.
Shadowhunters had s4 planned but it wasn't greenlit, so the scriptwriters had to wrap the plot up in a about 2 episodes and I think they did a fantastic job. But the point is, I was able go enjoy this story in full - yes it was 1 season shorter but it didn't feel lacking. There are still 3 full seasons, they aren't short, aren't dragged-out, it's as close to being perfect for me as it can get.
I sincerely hope DBD gets this treatment, too. It's spring again, I'm recovering again, and it gave me much comfort. However, during those years I've taken to listening to podcasts and got used to the idea that whatever I like may not come back for more episodes. So I've learnt to enjoy what is already there. The Bridge podcast I'm looking at you, you don't even have the 1st season finished and you're so brilliant and unique đ I'm grateful that the season ended the way it did - if we get more, great, we have all the leads, if we don't - it's just as good as s standalone season. I'm very grateful that these 8 episodes exist.

Things I wasnât happy with about Helluva Boss s2e3 (in its own post because the last one got long):
- We didnât get a reason for Millie to leave King Crimson alive, an incredibly stupid thing to do. At least show us her deciding not to do it out of a misguided belief that it would hurt Moxxie.
- I could believe either that Moxxie would text Blitzo and Millie and come up with a plan overnight, or that he would feel so helpless to resist the powerful man who abused him and killed his mom that heâd give in.  But I cannot believe he would defy his dad like that with no plan. What did he think would happen? He was putting Millie in danger - I honestly thought Crimson would threaten to start cutting bits off her. Â
- The writer didnât seem to know what to do with Loona. Leaving her sitting around the office and being almost entirely ignored by the others has been the default for a lot of episodes, and itâs not a good default. Sheâs overdue for a spotlight episode where she gets to move forward with her life.
- Weâre also overdue for a Millie episode. Sheâs great but mostly we see her as Moxxieâs Badass Wife. She dated Chaz too, and sheâs more violently angry at him than weâve ever seen her, but she doesnât get to share her memories - nobody even asks.Â
- Iâm not gonna say âfridged mom stereotypeâ, but it doesnât thrill me that both Blitzo and Moxxie have moms who tried to care for them despite abusive dads, died (as far as we know) leaving their kids traumatized, and never get a line of dialogue.
- The completely unfunny fat jokes donât bother me as much now that I realize theyâre not jokes but a bullying tactic. But theyâre still not funny and theyâve gone on long enough. Moxxie and Loonaâs feud needs to get acknowledged and resolved.
- The emotional and interpersonal aspects of this show are often well developed and very serious and sincere. Balancing that with the goofy, bizarre, hyper, sordid energy that is HBâs signature is not easy and this writer in particular isnât doing a great job of it. It pulls me out of immersion in the story when practical details like âcan anyone fly a helicopterâ or âhow is Blitzo going to magically have his coat back next episodeâ sometimes matter and sometimes donât.Â
I loved âThe Circusâ and if season 2 can work its way back up to that kind of storytelling, Iâll be very happy. This one was an improvement over âSeeing Starsâ IMO; fingers crossed the next one is better still!

Plank All Over Me - 72 Questions With Vogue Edition
Pairing: Tom Holland x Reader
Plank All Over Me Series Masterlist
Regular Masterlist
âHi. Iâm here from Vogue. Mind if I ask you a few questions?â
âOh, hey. Didnât see you there.â You flirtatiously flipped your perfectly curled hair over your shoulder and winked at the camera. âCome on in.â
You walked inside your house, and gestured for the camera man to follow. In preparation for the interview, you and Tom had gotten out every award youâd ever won and strategically placed them around the house. You smiled at the camera and rubbed your hand over your growing baby bump.
âWelcome to my crib. Sorry itâs such a mess.â You rolled your eyes and faked a laugh, knowing the house was far from being a mess. You kept walking and saw Tom in the living room, polishing on of his awards with a feather duster.
âOh my stars.â You feigned a gasp once you spotted Tom. âIs that my husband, the critically acclaimed movie star and Lip-sync battle winner, Tom Holland? I had no idea he was home.â You winked at the camera again.
âOh, hello.â Tom stopped dusting and posed with a smile. âDonât mind me. I was just cleaning this.â
âMight want to give that a dusting too.â You pointed to one of your awards before sending the camera another huge smile.
âAre you guys ready to answer some questions?â The camera guy asked.
âI was born ready.â Tom concurred with a smile.
âYou were a C section baby.â You reminded him. âYou werenât even born.â
âI was removed ready.â He kept the same tone in his voice.
âWhere did you meet?â The camera man asked as you and Tom began to walk towards your backyard.
âWe met at BBC Radio 1 while doing the Plank All Over Me challenge.â Tom answered.
âWhere was your first date?â
âCracker Barrel.â You winked at the camera as you opened your back door. Tom laughed and shook his head at your joke.
âIt was not. We got milkshakes at an Ice Cream Shop in Soho.â He corrected you.
âWho made the first move?â
âWhy, he did.â You touched a hand to your heart. âHe found me after the planking challenge, both our arms sore and aching, and asked me out on a date. Weâve been together ever since.â
âWhen you did you move in together?â
âAbout six months into the relationship when I realized she had a bigger bathroom than me.â Tom answered as he took a seat in one of your decorative deck chairs.
âHow long have you been together?â
âSince September 29, 2019 at precisely 6:33 p.m.â You responded.
âWow. Just a year?â
âRealistically, weâve been together for a few years, but thatâs when this series was first posted.â You shrugged. Tom and the camera blinked in confusion for a few minutes as they processed what you said.
âMoving on.â The camera man cleared his throat. âTom, how did you pick an engagement ring?â
âI went into the shop and I said âwhich is the least expensive because Iâm trying to buy a Porscheâ and thatâs how she ended up with this bad boy.â Tom smirked as he held up your hand to show off your engagement ring.
âI canât wait to tell our baby that story.â You played along as you rubbed your baby bump.
âWhen did you know you wanted to propose?â
âAs soon as she started whining because the planking was hurting her arms, I knew she was the one.â Tom joked.
âDid you know he was going to propose?â
âSurprisingly, no.â You laughed. âItâs the one secret heâs ever kept.
âI nearly got an ulcer from trying to keep it from her.â Tom blew out a breath.
âWho planned the majority of the wedding?â
âI did.â You declared. âI had to text Tom the morning of the wedding to remind him where the venue was.â
âDid either of you cry?â
âAs soon as I mentioned the yoga challenge in my vows, the whole room was sobbing.â Tom teased.
âHow big was the reception?â
âLetâs just say, we had all the Avengers there.â Tom nodded.
âAll the important ones, anyway.â You joked. âMackie couldnât make it.â
âHow did you spend your honeymoon?â
âWe went to Bali and didnât see any of it.â Tom smirked, earning a playful smack on the arm from you.
âWhatâs been your favorite video together?â
âI loved the prank with Josh.â You answered with a smile.
âI didnât.â Tom shook his head. âI nearly threw hands with a ginger that day. I quite liked the friendship test.â
âWhat video gave you the fondest memories?â
âSpill your Guts, for sure. Thatâs when I learned about the existence of this one.â Tom beamed as he rubbed your baby bump.
âWhat was your least favorite video to film?â
âWe already know Tomâs answer.â You chuckled.
âPrank interview.â He stated. âTo this day, I hate it.â
âDid you see yourself getting married when you first met?â
âAll I saw were the nose hairs in Tomâs nostrils when we first met.â You laughed. âAfter all, he did plank on me for six and a half minutes.â
âI had a feeling we would.â Tom smiled shyly. âOr a hope, at least.â
You pouted at his sincerity and leaned forward to kiss him, which his happily accepted.
âHave you thought of baby names?â
âJosh.â You answered immediately and Tom groaned.
âIâm kidding.â You rolled your eyes. âI really like the name Ryan Reynolds though.â
âWhat are you hoping for?â
âAn oscar.â Tom answered at the same time you said âA divorce.â
âYou already want a divorce?â The camera man laughed.
âOh, not a divorce from Tom.â You assured him. âI want Ryan Reynolds to divorce Blake Lively so he can marry me instead.â You explained as Tom nodded along.
âAnd I want to die every time she says that.â He cracked a smile.
âLetâs get back to the baby questions.â The camera man said as you began to move around the yard. âDo you know the gender?â
âWe do.â Tom said deviously. âBut weâre not telling.â
âDo you think the baby will be more like their mother or their father?â
âDefinitely me.â You stated.
âWhy are you so sure?â
âBecause Tomâs not the father.â You smiled sweetly. Tom stared at the camera with an unamused expression and shook his head.
âWhoâs going to be the fun parent?â
âConsidering Iâm the parent who can swing from buildings, I say me.â Tom boasted.
âWhoâs going to teach the baby how to read?â
âI am. And after the baby learns, they can teach Tom.â You smiled as you patted Tomâs shoulder.
âDo you think the baby will like to plank?â
âIf theyâre anything like their mommy, no.â Tom poked fun at you.
âAnd if theyâre anything like their daddy, theyâll grow up to play the Green Lantern.â You shot back.
âHahahah. Sheâs so funny.â Tom forced a laugh at your joke.
âDo you think the baby will develop your senses of humor?â
âWait, you have a sense of humor?â You asked Tom. âYou didnât tell me that.â
âShe loves me so much, itâs crazy.â Tom deadpanned towards the camera.
âDo you want the baby to grow up to be an actor or actress like you guys?â
âI just want the baby to be happy.â Tom gave a serious answer. âEvery thing else will fall into place on its own.â
âThatâs a great answer. Do you think youâll post about the baby a lot of keep them out of the spotlight for the first few years of their life?â
âI think weâll wait until theyâre at least 4 months old until we exploit them for our own financial gain.â You said and Tom nodded along.
âHave you picked out the godparents yet?â
âHugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal.â You joked. âTheyâre so excited. Jake said he would take the baby fishing.â
âHeâs taken me fishing a few times.â Tom said as he stared off.
âHow have you been preparing for the baby?â
âWell, I personally stopped sleeping, changed my whole diet, started lactating, and my pelvic bone separated in the middle so that I could push the baby out. Tom, what did you do?â You tilted your head at him.
âI bought the car seat.â Tom said proudly. âMy wife picked it out, though.â
âI also drove him there.â You glared at the camera for a moment, cracking a smile after your joke.
âWhat are you most looking forward to after the baby is born?â
âLaying on my stomach.â You laughed as you looked down at your protruding bump.
âI also miss laying on her stomach.â Tom pouted as he rubbed the bump. âThat was my favorite cuddle position.â
âAw. Iâm sorry we canât cuddle the way you want to anymore because Iâm growing your child inside my body.â You said sarcastically, making Tom laugh.
âThank you for growing our child inside your body. I donât say it enough.â Tom praised as he leaned in for a kiss.
âYouâre welcome.â You smiled at him before turning to the camera man. âAnything else you want to know?â
âActually, I have a question.â Tom stated as he looked at the camera.
âWhatâs that?â The camera man asked. You and Tom looked at each other and exchanged a smile before turning back the the camera.
âAre you excited to meet our baby girl?â

Letâs Fall in Love for the Night
- Wilbur Soot x fem!reader
- warnings: just a mention of being tired and mention of kids
- summary: snippets of your and Wilburâs relationship
- a/n: written for lovely @basillyâs and @losingvienna 's 1k/600 writing challenge! go check it out!
- (flashbacks in italic)
Wilbur played his guitar, fingers softly pulling the strings as he hummed along. You sat next to him, a blanked draped over your legs. You sleepily watched your boyfriend, your eyes looking like the exact definition of heart-eyes. You loved him more than anything. He turned to look at you, his previously concentrated features softening, and a smile finding its way onto his lips.
âwhatcha lookinâ at, love?â he asked, pretending as if he didnât already know.
âthat wall is very interesting-â your sentence was cut off by Wilbur tackling you on the couch. He propped himself on his elbows, trapping you under him.
âhow about now?â he asked, his smile growing wider. Gosh, he loved you so much.
âI think Iâm looking at a handsome young man.â You said playfully, pecking his lips. He laughed and pulled you into another kiss.
-
âDo you think sheâll say yes?â Tommy smiled to himself. How couldnât Wilbur see that if he asked, youâd come to the end of the world with him?
âSheâll definitely say no.â Tommy answered his friendâs question in a sarcastic tone.
âTommy! Iâm being serious here!â Tommy could picture Wilburâs expression. His voice softened.
âOf course she will. She loves you, mate.â
-
The clock showed 3 am. You tossed and turned in your bed, but just as in the past few hours, couldnât fall asleep. You were getting exhausted at this point, but with a buzz of your phone you gave up on trying to fall asleep an reached for it. The notification was a message from Wilbur.
âhey. are you asleep?â
ânope. why?â you texted back, and his reply came almost instantly.
âiâll pick you up in twenty five ;)â you grinned to yourself, wondering what he had in mind.
Half an hour later, you were in his car, one of his hands on your mid-thigh and the other on the steering wheel, driving somewhere.
âSo⊠what do you have in mind?â you asked, fiddling with his hand that was on your thigh. He smiled mysteriously.
âYouâll see, my love.â You leaned back in your seat, smiling.
Wilbur drove for about 20 minutes, neither of you breaking the sleepy, comfortable silence. Finally Wilbur stopped the car a little bit out of town. There was a small area, more specifically a flower field. The moonlight was bright, letting you see the beauty in front of you.
âDo you like it?â Wilbur spoke behind you. There was a blanket in his hands.
âSo, how about stargazing?â
-
Wilbur tried to tame his wildly beating heart. He checked his appearance one last time before seeing you come towards his car. You were wearing a white sundress, as Wilbur told you to wear something suitable for the beach. He nervously gulped. You looked like a goddess. He exited his car and went up to you, leading you to the vehicle and opening the door for you, not before giving a few compliments.
The ride to the beach wasnât long. Wilbur parked his car and opened the door for you. the place looked similar... and then you remembered. Here, on this beach, Wilbur had opened up about his feelings and had asked you to become his girlfriend. You remembered how nervous he was, and it made you smile.
Wilbur led you to the exact spot where youâd sat so many years ago.
âDecided to remember the good ole times?â you joked as if you were 80 years old. Wilbur laughed.
âMaybe.â a few minutes passed by, with you chatting and laughing at funny memories.
ây/n... do you remember how I asked you to be my girlfriend here?â you smiled.
âItâs hard to forget.â Wilbur seemed to collect his thoughts for a while before pulling out a ring.
âToday, I decided to do it again. But this time Iâll ask if you want to marry me.â he said and your cheeks flushed. You couldnât imagine a better proposal.
âAnd I will say yes!â you werenât able to contain your excitement and happiness. You kissed him, once again reminding him how lucky he was.
-
Wilburâs head was in your lap, your fingers playing with his hair. On TV was a random Disney movie youâd picked out for that movie night. You and Wilbur were having quite a lot of fun singing along with all the songs. Just as another song was ending you noticed Wilbur wasnât singing. You looked down at him, he seemed to be deep in his thoughts. You gently poked his cheek.
âWhat are you thinking âbout, baby?â he sighed, turning his head to you.
âThe future.â You slightly furrowed your brows in confusion.
âThe future?â
âYep. I- you know, Iâd love to have a future with you.â He blushed, and your heart swelled.
âIâd future with you too. Imagine, if we have little y/ns and Wilburs running around.â You said laughing. Wilbur looked at you. You were so sincere, if he could, heâd marry you on the spot. He gently cupped your face and kissed you. You smiled into the kiss. You both wanted to grow old together.
-
âAnd you, y/n y/l/n, do you take Wilbur Soot as your husband?â
âYes. I do.â You said, your eyes watering. Wilbur was looking at you, and at that moment nothing mattered other than your love for each other.
âyou may now kiss.â You and Wilbur both leaned in at the same time, but maybe that wasnât the best idea, because your noses harshly bumped into each other. You both started laughing, all while holding your aching noses.
- âWhat time should I pick you up, love?â Wilburâs voice rand through the phone, his British accent never failing to make you blush.
âHmm... like in 20 minutes or so, if thatâs okay?â you were very tired after work and couldnât wait to see Wilbur. Youâd missed him.
~20 minutes later~
You opened the car door, tossing your bag inside before getting in.
âHello,â Wilbur said, giving you a peck on the cheek. âHow was your day?â he asked, starting the car.
"It was good, but I'm so tired... I feel like I could sleep for a decade," you said with a chuckle. "But anyways, how was yours?"
You made small talk, but the conversation soon died down due to both of you being tired. You were home in 15 minutes, thanks to the traffic not being very bad.
"y/n, love? We're home." Wilbur said, taking the key out of ignition. When you didn't respond, he turned to look at you. A smile spread across his face at the sight of you peacefully sleeping, your cheek leaned against the window.
He got out of the car and got both of yours' bags, trying to be as quiet as possible. He then carefully opened your door and picked you up bridal style, while you still sleeping. He carried you to your shared apartment where he gently laid you on the couch. Just as he was about to go and change, you loosely held his wrist.
"Please stay." you whispered, still half awake. Wilbur smiled before laying next to you on the couch and wrapping his arms around you. You nuzzled into his chest.
"I love you." your voice came out slightly muffled. Wilbur affectionately stroked your hair.
"I love you too." and with that you drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
-
"He's so- so tiny!" Wilbur exclaimed, carefully rocking your newborn in his arms.
"Will, he's a baby. He's supposed to be tiny." you chuckled, looking at your two favourite people in the world.
"He's so cute. Look at his eyes, his nose, his chee-" he stopped mid-sentence. You worriedly looked at him, but your gaze softened and became one of amusement once you saw the reason.
Tommy, as you and Wilbur decided to name him, had grasped one of Wilbur's fingers with his small hand. Wilbur looked like he could explode any time.
"y/n, can we have another one?"

________
You wanted to slap yourself. What the hell was wrong with you today? Why did you tell Peter that?!
âIâm sorry, I didnât mean...â Completely baffled with you behavior, you were deeply ashamed, unable to look the guy in the eyes and wanting nothing but fall into the earth.
âAh, I got it. Itâs Steve, isnât it?â All of a sudden, Peter let out an irritated sigh, rolling his eyes skywards and rubbing his neck. âOf course, who else would say such nonsense. Blackmail, really? Funny he didnât call me a stalker or anything.â
âListen, I didnât mean it, Iâm really-â
âItâs ok.â He closed the locker, slamming its door loudly and making you jump. âItâs not your fault. If I heard that from somebody, Iâd be scared too.â
He spent a couple of seconds staring into the wall until he rubbed his neck again tiredly and huffed. It took him less than a minute to regain his composure, and you heard him murmuring, âWhat a freak.â
He didn't return to the corridor, heading to the sports hall for his PE class, instead moving to the bench in the locker room and motioning you to sit. Feeling terribly awkward, you hoped he wasn't going to do anything out of anger, even though he had every right to be upset at your stupid behavior.
"About what he said," Peter took a deep breath, "it's nothing like that. I don't dig up some nasty stuff in the web to blackmail people. I've never done it. The reason why Mr. I-am-better-than-you said that is because I've made him take me into his little bodyguard group when I heard him talking to Loki. You're nice, and I wanted to help. Of course, Steve started acting like I was some creep, so he refused, and I had to remind him that, technically, he had to report your issue to the administration, not play a hero. I said that if I go and tell the whole story to the dean, Steve's gonna be in trouble because he knew who thieves were and didn't report them."
It was a loud off your mind. Goodness. Rogers called this a blackmail? Really? Just because Peter pushed Steve into taking him into their group?
You were less and less sure Rogers was sane. You definitely had to be careful around him.
"I can't believe he called it a blackmail." You admitted quietly, and the guy sent you a tired smile. "Peter, I'm so, so sorry. It was so stupid of me."
"Nah, don't worry. I'd freak out too if I didn't know the whole story."
You knew your apologies weren't enough, but you hoped Peter didn't take it to heart - if you can take such an accusation easily, that is. Shit, shit, shit, why did you believe everything these guys were saying? You didn't even know them in the first place! Why on Earth did you go asking them their opinions on others if all of them were biased, and every guy could twist the truth the way he liked? You shouldn't have let their words affect you that much.
"Whatever. At least now you know what Rogers is like." Peter sent you a grim smile and got up, picking his bright yellow sackpack from the floor. "Shit, I gotta go if I don't wanna be late. Let's meet in a library later, alright?"
"O-of course." You hurriedly stood up and left the lockers room after him, turning to the library: your Lit class was cancelled, so you decided to go study right away. At this time, the library was usually full, and you felt safe there.
Your thoughts were all about the guys again even when you were staring at your laptop, trying to focus on Excel numbers. Why did you feel like the atmosphere between them was so dense? If they were at such terms with each other, why did they group together to help you? What, because all of them loved you so much? It was ridiculous. There was something else to it, and you didn't know. You had a feeling no one was going to tell you the truth until you figured it all out by yourself.
Weird. It was all so weird. Steve's plan, their behavior, the relationships between them, and your nagging feeling they all were hiding something. Was it them who were actually following you?
The thought scared you to the point you started shivering. Oh shit.
"Hi there," the guy appeared behind your back so suddenly you almost jumped, looking at him wide-eyed, "sorry, did I startle you?"
"H-hi Jake! No, it's ok, I was just... studying." Both of you were talking in hushed voices, knowing the librarian would kick you out immediately if she heard some noise. "How are you?"
"I'm great, how're you?" You could hear concern in his voice: he was one of Thor's friends you met yesterday, and although you spoke briefly, Thor definitely told him more about you. "You look a bit worried."
"Oh, it's Math, I didn't really understand the topic, and we're having an exam on Monday... guess I'll be studying the whole weekend." You gave him your best smile to reassure you were totally ok, and the guy relaxed a little, smiling at you, too.
"I'm sure you'll pass. Thor said you're very smart."
What, he said that to all of them? Was he simply boasting about his girlfriend to his friends or was there something more to it?
"You're too kind. Thank you."
His smile grew wider, and he landed on the next seat to yours, resting his hands on the table. Apparently, there was something he wanted to talk to you about, and you grew uneasy.
"Listen, about these incidents... Thor told us all about it, so if you see any freaks following you around, you can message any of us, and we'll come right away." Looking at his serious expression, his bushy brows furrowed, you hoped he eas being sincere with you: you had enough with people you could no longer trust. "And also... that kid, if he's giving you troubles or anything, just let me know, and I'll tell him to keep his hands to himself"
Oh, he was talking about Peter, wasn't he? He had probably seen that silly photo. Wow, you though, Peter was totally right about Instagram: it was the best news source in the academy.
Thanking him for his concern, you laughed a little, convincing him there was nothing serious except for the theft and promising to tell him if anything weird would be going on. While it should have made you feel safer, in fact, you only grew more frustrated with this situation. You wanted to forget about these freaks and just spend you day like any normal student would, but everywhere you went people were staring at you as if you had a horn; one boyfriend or the other was always close to protect you from some unknown danger, and although you believed they tried to help, you hated the feeling they were hiding something from you. Why did you have to be going through all this? Wasn't it really better to drop off school, spend a year working and then apply to a better place?
Thinking of the faces your parents would make once you returned home, you realized it wasn't. This school with all those creeps wasn't worse than home that never felt like a safe place you wanted to come back to. Besides, all money you saved up until now were only good for buying food and things like that: you'd never afford to rent a decent place unless you found a well-paid job. It meant staying with your parents, and it wouldn't be much better than here, just different. If you wanted to drop off, you had to find a good place to stay.
Well, you could at least try, right?
When Peter met you in the library, the two of you no longer talked about anything important, simply studying together to prepare for the exams next week. It didn't feel off: from time to time you met his gaze, and the both of you smiled. You were thankful he didnât talk about Steve or other guys or that weirdo in the lockers room.
Once you returned home, you went straight to bed, completely exhausted. Luckily, you did much more than yesterday, so you could rest now, but then you thought of Thor kissing you and bit down the pillow, angry at yourself. Why did you keep thinking of him right now?
______________
When you woke up the next morning, you felt like something was off: your body ached, your throat hurt, and your headache was only making it worse. Dammit, you caught a cold, probably. And thatâs when it was finally the day to meet Steve, the guy you thought was a mastermind behind all these manipulations that were making you sick to the core.Â
Anyway, itâs not like a mere cold would prevent you from doing everything you had planned. You left your bed and went to the bathroom, moving the dresser before again.Â
Honestly, it felt terrible. It was definitely because of that flimsy dress you wore to school yesterday when the weather was becoming chilly. Argh. Watching your puffy eyes and swollen nose, you sneezed. Today you had to apply way more makeup to look decently.
Steve showed up earlier than either Thor or Peter: you had to skip your breakfast, hoping to buy something cheap in the cafeteria.
âGood morning.â He said with his everyday polite expression that soon shifted into a concerned one. âAre you alright?â
What, was it that bad? You did your absolute best to apply enough makeup and do your hair. Did you still look so sick?
âGood morning. Yes, Iâm ok, just feeling a little sleepy.â You yawned on purpose, covering your mouth with your hand, and Steveâs face softened.
âDid you study all night?â
âYep, exams are driving me a little crazy.â
âI understand. I also stayed late last night.â
Of course, the student council president studying all days long to be number one student in the academy. If you didnât know of his twisted nature, youâd think he was the most typical nerd.
You spent most of the time either in silence or talking about studies, the academy, and everything related to it. Steve acted like a gentleman and a scholar, albeit a little too demonstratively. Walking with you as if he were a king of the place, he constantly replied to greetings of others, waved to his acquaintances and smiled. You felt so off you wanted to find Loki and walk with him: unlike Steve, he was considered unpleasant by the prevailing majority of students.
âAre you sure youâre going to be alright?â America golden boy asked you for the last time, and you forced yourself to smile.
âOf course. Thanks for coming, see you later, Steve.â
As he finally left you in peace, you almost fell down into your chair, your fever only getting worse despite the fact you took some painkillers. It was going to be a long day.

MONTHLY MEDIA: April 2022
April! I suppose this means weâre a third of the way through the year and and thatâs wild to me. Anyway hereâs how I mostly spent the month.
âŠâŠâŠ.FILMâŠâŠâŠ.
Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022) Itâs been a while since Iâve watched a movie and really felt like I was seeing something new, you know? I was visually exhausted and I canât recommend it enough. I just want more movies that are both silly and sincere and fun. What an adventure.
Pirate Radio / The Boat that Rocked (2009) This cast is so great. I donât think I realized it upon my first viewing back when it was released. The cutaways to the listeners are lovely and so varied that it really sells the impact these radio stations had. Big fan.
Empress of Darkness (2020) I donât remember how I came across Nick DiLiberto (the director and sole animator of this movie) but I bought DVDs of both of his movies and this one is just fantastic. 60 minutes depicting a beautiful, violent, nearly wordless struggle. Check out the trailers online and if you like what you see then the movie delivers that and more.
âŠâŠâŠ.TELEVISIONâŠâŠâŠ.
Squid Game (Episode 1.01 to 1.09) Finally got around to checking this out and Iâve never been more consistently stressed watching a season of television, Really really great until the international characters show up and then itâs really really good. Although I will say that final hair choice really deflated the serious tone of those last few scenes. The visuals are clearly iconic and I still donât understand how anyone walked away from this with any message other than âcapitalism is bad.â
Ghosts (Episode 1.01 to 1.06) Charming and maybe a little...wholesome? I donât quite know how to explain it. I mean you can tell how an episode will play out after the first couple minutes but I just enjoy spending time with these silly characters.
âŠâŠâŠ.READINGâŠâŠâŠ.
Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (Page 192 of 507) I have a hard time explaining just how great these books are (this is the second in the series after the equally fantastic Gideon the Ninth). The writing just feels so effortless and the characters clearly defined from their first introduction. The series has such an interesting structure and this second bookâs second-person point-of-view really adds to the characterâs paranoia. Oh also this book is about space necromancers training to fight a world beast while also seemingly trying to kill each other? I dunno itâs weird and wonderful and absolutely worth checking out.
Work Won't Love You Back: How Devotion to Our Jobs Keeps Us Exploited, Exhausted, and Alone by Sarah Jaffe (Complete) Outside of the intro and conclusion, each chapter (which breaks down why a different umbrella of industry exploits its labour) can be read or skipped without missing much. I mention this because reading the book cover to cover was exhausting. In a good way. But perhaps now how Iâd reread it. Anyway all this is to say I recommend the book.
Delicious in Dungeon Vol. 10 by Ryoko Kui (Complete) Every volume manages to stick with the premise (eating monsters to survive a dungeon) even when the stakes ramp up towards the looming climax. Funny and deeply character-driven and such beautiful artwork. Really really great and I wonât stop recommending this. Go pick up volume 1.
Young Offenders (1â3) by Mike Becker, Mark Stack, and Jodie Troutman (Complete) I kickstarted this miniseries a while back and it was a really fun read! In three issues you get a good intro to these characters, a sense of the world theyâre living in, and solid threat to require a full team of fresh-faced superheros. Totally recommend picking it up and I know you can get it from Beckerâs site here.
âŠâŠâŠ.AUDIOâŠâŠâŠ.
Bronco by Orville Peck (2022) If always bugs me when folks say they donât like a certain genre of music. I just assume they havenât found the right artist that clicks with them, you know? Orville Peck is a great example of that for me and country music. I donât click with a lot of artists in the genre but not Peck. His voice, emotion, and theatrics all resonate. This album feels bigger and bolder than his previous and itâs been on heavy rotation this month.
âŠâŠâŠ.GAMINGâŠâŠâŠ.
Oz: A Fantasy Role-Playing Setting (Andrews McMeel Publishing) My weekly group decided to rob the Ozian mob and it went...fairly well! Will there be any consequences? Who could say. Full campaign diary is here on reddit! Meanwhile the Mof1 crew fell into a trap, were knocked unconscious, and have just avoided being buried alive. Now they have to flee the rest of the thugs who were tasked with filling in the holes.
And thatâs it! As always, let me know if you have any recommendations and happy Saturday!

You are my savior
Hunter x Neutral ReaderÂ
Since you couldn't sleep you decide to keep an eye on the ship, which was in hyperspace, while the others slept. It was not an interesting activity, but it was important. Still, you weren't going to be alone much longer.
In your lap you had Hunter's helmet, somehow you loved it, and it was perhaps because you loved its owner. You were sitting in the pilot's seat and were reading your datapad because you couldn't find any other way to kill time, as you had already cleaned your weapon earlier, which in fact didn't need cleaning. Â But despite that, what was on your datapad wasn't very interesting either, it seemed like the galaxy was against you to bore you one way or another. Luckily for you, that was about to change.
You kept reading, it must have been the fourth time you had read the same thing, and yet you were still concentrating. That's why you weren't paying attention to your surroundings, so you were clearly startled when you felt a hand on your right shoulder. Out of shock you straighten your back suddenly, dropping your datapad in the process causing it to fall to the floor.
âWhatâŠ?!â you turn your gaze to your right side. âHunter!â
âSorry, sorry. I didn't mean to scare youâ he rests one knee on the floor to grab your datapad.
âWho said I got scared?â you clears your throat.
Hunter raises his gaze and looks at you with a raised eyebrow.
âRight. So, that scream you gave was because...?â
â...of happiness to see you?â you smile nervously.
Hunter still had his eyebrow raised, but when he heard you say that, he smiles and laughs without opening his mouth. Then he shakes his head and hands you your datapad, which you take it.
âI looked ridiculous, didn't I?â you asked.
âJust a little, but I still love youâ
He gets up from the floor, but first manages to give you a kiss on your right cheek as he stood up, and you smile at that and at what he said to you.
âWere you reading the mission report?â
âI was reading it before... I was so bored that I cleaned my blaster, my knifeâ you rest a hand on Hunter's helmet, which was still in your lap. âAnd I cleaned your helmet tooâ
Hunter looks surprised to hear that, besides seeing that you had his helmet in your lap.
âDid you really do that?â he sits down in the chair next to you.
âYeah, well...â you give the helmet a little pat. âI saw your helmet on the table and could see it was a little dirty from the mission we had. I wanted to clean it, and I think I did a good jobâ
âYou surely did. Thank youâ, he was smiling. âI appreciate it a lotâ
You smile and you could feel a warmth in your cheeks, a consequence of seeing Hunter's smile and hearing his sincere words.
âDon't mention itâ you clears your throat. âSo... you're wondering what I'm doing awake, right?â
âWell, yeah. I was worried when I didn't see you next to me when I woke up, and I hope you didn't have a nightmareâ his eyes showed concern for you.
âOh, no, no. Don't worry, it wasn't a nightmareâ
Hunter breathes a sigh of relief, closing his eyes in the process, and when he opens them he looks at you again. Â
âI am glad to hear thatâ he leans forward in the chair and rests one hand on your knee. âIs there anything that worries you?â
âNo, no. Nothing worries meâ you lower your face a little.
Hunter removes his hand from your knee and brings it to your chin, which he grasps very gently to lift your face in the same way. Â With that you look each other.
âAre you sure, Y/N?â he asked.
âI amâ you smile. âCleaning your helmet gave me peace of mind. I love it, and I also love its ownerâ
âPlease, you'll make me blushâ he smiles too.
âOh, I see. Well, I want you to know that you are my savior. I was bored here reading a report and my savior with his bandana appearedâ
âI never thought I was a savior. In that case, a pleasure to save you from your boredomâ
After saying this, you bring your faces close together and start kissing. Â It was a soft, loving kiss, and you two kissed for a few moments, as the feeling of closeness was magnificent. You separate only for lack of air, but you still had your faces and lips close to each other, and that's when you see and hear Hunter let out a small, but beautiful laugh.
âYeah, you managed to make me blushâ he said, with a smile.Â
You laugh too and grab Hunter's face with both hands to caress his cheeks with your thumbs.
âAnd to think that the sergeant I met was serious and unfriendlyâ
âLet's just say a slightly stubborn person has gotten the best of meâ
âWait, wait. Slightly stubborn?â
âOh, no. Don't try to deny it"
âFine, fine. As you say, sergeantâ you smile.Â
âWell done, soldierâ he smiles too.Â
You wanted to get up, so you grab Hunter's helmet and get out of your chair. He, who was also standing, watches you walk a couple of steps and then sees you sit on the floor, leaning your back against the wall of the ship. You put the helmet back on your lap and Hunter sits next to you, also leaning his back against the wall of the ship. That's where you move your head and rest it on his shoulder.Â
âI've read the mission report over and over again"Â
âSomething on your mind?â he rests his cheek on top of your head.
âI thought that again there will be in our file the typical phrase: 'Clone Force 99 disobeyed orders again, and their recruit as well'. It's funny because I used to obey ordersâÂ
âYes, we have to preserve our reputation for not fully obeying orders. But sometimes it is necessary and we know what we are doing. I remember your face in the first mission you had with us, when we just decided to disobey the ordersâ he rests his elbow on his knee, as he had lifted his leg by resting his foot on the floor.Â
âWait. Do you really remember that?â
âOf course I remember. And to think that now you are the first one to disobey orders, even my orders!â
âHow quickly I grew upâ
You raise your face to look at him and he was looking at you with a raised eyebrow, so you smile.
âI remember your face the first time I disobeyed an order from youâ you said.Â
âDon't make me remember, seriously. Luckily nothing went wrongâ
âI remember coming back to the ship and there you were, looking at me with those beautiful eyes of yours and your nose wrinkled in anger. Can you wrinkle your nose? You look adorable like that"
âI appreciate the comment about my eyes, but now that you made me remember that moment, I won't do it. I will not give you the satisfaction"
âHunterâ
âNoâ
âPlease?â
âI said noâ
âFineâ
The moment Hunter got careless and dared to look at you, you quickly give him a kiss on the nose and when you pull away you see that he wrinkles it.Â
âDamn it!âÂ
âHa! Mission accomplishedâ you put on a victorious smile. âI will put it in the report and...â
You are interrupted by Hunter, who kisses you, and then you kiss him back. He felt a mix of emotions that he couldn't stand and had the urge to kiss you. While you were kissing, you thought you were very lucky to see that side of him, since he was always serious and focused. What was really a victory for you was to be like this with him, and the kiss tasted just like that: victory.Â
âI've never felt what I feel when I'm with you, cyare... You are uniqueâ he said after the kiss, his mouth close to yours.Â
âYou are unique, Hunter. You mean everything to me...â you smiled.Â
âAnd I am so lucky to have you" he smiles too.
You carefully put Hunter's helmet aside and sit on his lap, then you kiss again. You start stroking his hair, running your fingers gently caressing him, and he caressed your back and waist. These caresses made the kiss become deeper and more loving, and you didn't want to be anywhere else.Â

Thoughts on B99 season 8 and the finale....
So I must admit, I have been putting off watching the finale as part of being in denial that the show has ended and there are no more new episodes to come. And just like Terry, I was not in denial of being in denial. But I finally pulled the trigger and watched the final two episodes and I do have a lot of thoughts about it and the final season.
Firstly, about season 8 has a whole. I will begrudgingly admit that this might be the weakest season of the show, and a large part of it being due to circumstances surrounding the show. Now weakest does not mean it was a bad season. Weakest seasons of B99 is better than 99% of other shows, pun intended, but I think this season struggled a little dealing with the seriousness of the policing storyline but still trying to find humor, combined with the short episode order, and trying to find appropriate endings for the characters. Its a valiant effort and the season is still enjoyable but I don't think it was completely successful at juggling everything.
The fundamental problem with the policing storyline that it is inherently serious and that clashes with the tone of the show. There was a sense of tonal whiplash throughout the season as a result. It was a bit of a problem when a show as progressive as B99 but also a show that is inherently about good cops trying to do good in their community has to try and appeal to a fanbase that considers policing fundamentally as corrupt. Its a tough line to ride and while the show does try, I can't say it completely worked for me. The premiere was arguably the most uncomfortable episode to watch because of the subject matter and the show was very brave to do that and also later in the season when the show put its lead character as Jake as the person in the wrong in a policing matter. But because of the severity of what is happening in these episodes, its tough to find them very funny even though there are hilarious moments in these episodes. Holt getting huffy was great. But in the end, these aren't episodes that I necessarily feel like revisiting. Also, because the issue of policing is big, it had to be done over the course of the season. Which meant 4 out of 10 episodes were relatively serious. I think Blue Flu is the best episode of the bunch in the storyline as it managed to give us a heartfelt storyline with Jake and Boyle as well as do a good job giving Holt a showcase against McGinley's O'Sullivan, who was an excellent antagonist. I felt the resolution of the storyline was a little too pat and convenient. I know they mentioned that O'Sullivan was re-elected for life but they also made it seem like their proposal could change the NYPD which seems like a very tv thing. I also admittedly rolled my eyes that Amy got promoted from Sergeant of Uniformed officers to being a Chief. No way do I buy that type of promotion. That's like a 5 rank promotion I believe. And if its possible, it kind of felt like uncomfortable favoritism on Holt's part.
The best episodes of the season were the episodes in between the policing storyline, because they were lighthearted and fun and played to the strength of the show. However, the airing schedule also kind of worked against it. The tonal whiplash was very evident because we would get one fairly serious episode coupled with one lighthearted episode back to back and it did feel weird while watching it. I feel like if this was like a 15 episode season and the policing storyline was a bit more spaced out, it wouldn't have felt so weird tonally. I loved Balancing, because of the realistic portrayal of how parenting can be. I also really loved PB&J. I know people have varying opinions on the Pontiac Bandit but I really loved how sweetly sentimental the episode ended up by the end. I also liked that Boyle got to be a part of the episode because I always wanted a Jake, Judy, and Boyle episode. I think the way the season executed the Holt and Kevin storyline was exquisite. I was initially not sure why they went about the route of spitting them up but they did an incredible job at their reunion storyline. The Lake House was a hilarious start. I love that the show came through on the commitment of their vow renewal from like season 2 I believe. Holt and Kevin got the vow renewal, the romantic kiss in the rain. It was wonderful. The season had some strong peraltiago moments, specifically in Balancing and in the finale.
The one episode I was a little meh about was Game of Boyles. I really don't think in a final season which already was so short that we needed an episode about Boyle not being a blood Boyle. It wasn't even a particularly big showcase for Joe and Charles' weird habits. The highlight of the episode was the big Holt and Kevin reunion but the episode was otherwise a bit flat. I think because of the fact that the episode order was so short, a few of the characters seemed genuinely wasted. I believe Stephanie Beatriz was pregnant throughout the shooting. With Covid, maybe it was part of the deal for her to be a more minor role but apart from the premiere and the finale, she really isn't used much despite the premiere kind of pitching her as a driving point of this policing storyline which then pivoted mostly to Holt and Amy. Terry was really completely sidelined all season. He's a hilarious side character in some episodes like The Lake House but he didn't really have a single episode where he got to be front and center. Boyle got a few good moments but, like I said, Game of Boyles wasn't even really a big Charles showcase episode. I think his best episode was Blue Flu. The season really felt more lead centric on Jake, Holt, and Amy. Again, I feel this was mainly because of the fact that the policing story took up half the season and there wasn't really enough room in the rest of the season for the others to be showcased. As a result we didn't get any real detective episodes, no Pimento episode, no Vulture return, no return of Jake and Amy's parents etc... all of which could have been fun.
I feel like I have pointed out the issues I had with the season quite a bit, mainly because the show has set such high standards for seasons past. The episodes are still ranging from decent to really good. I don't think there is any episode that comes as an all time B99 classic in this season, but there isn't any real bad episodes either. So its still a solid season, which brings us to the finale.
The finale was fantastic and I loved every aspect of it barring one specific element. I think the showrunners made the right call by knowing what the show is good at and making a true lighthearted romp as the final two episodes. The heist is just too important a tradition for the show not to happen and it feels appropriate that the show ended on a grand heist. The finale did an incredible job incorporating so many guest stars seamlessly. I also loved that Gina got to come back in a substantial role in the finale. Given how big a part she was in the show, it was only right that she was there at the very end. Almost every key relationship got some great moments. Jake and Amy had some heartfelt moments, Amy and Rosa had a lovely moment, Jake and Charles had a great friendship moment. The only relationship I would have liked another scene with is Jake and Rosa, which is probably my favorite male/female friendship on any show. Loved that Terry gets to be Captain, which he deserves. But in the end, the heart of this show has always been the relationship between Holt and Jake. The final scene between them at the precinct is played completely straight and it absolutely brilliant acting from both Andre Braugher and Andy Samberg. It got me really teary and emotional. But wisely, the show ends on an upbeat note which makes you feel good that these people will always be in each other's lives. I also hope they use the notion of a heist to give us a holiday heist special every once in a while. I would love that.
The one element I don't like is Jake resigning and becoming a stay at home dad. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being a stay at home Dad or Mom. It just doesn't make sense for me for Jake. I think everybody saw hints that he was going to leave the NYPD, and I was ok with that, and I love the fact that the show used Jake's want to be a father as the basis of his departure because that makes sense for him as a character, but I just don't seem him being happy just as a stay at home dad, no matter how sweet that sentiment is. Andy Samberg doesn't get enough praise with how he sells emotional sincerity, but just two episodes prior, Jake was moaning about how he was incredibly bored during his suspension and how he was desperate for interaction to the point of going to the Boyle house for distraction. On top of that, he admitted to being really bummed that he was unable to catch Franzia himself. It just doesn't seem like he would be happy being away from a life without investigations to keep his mind working. Investigating wasn't just something he did just to earn money, he genuinely loved it. I would have felt better if he said he was going to join Rosa as a PI or start his own PI business. Just a one liner saying that he would do something which would continue his passion while still being able to be there for Mac as a parent. It also gave me an uncomfortable callback to my least favorite episode of the show, Casecation, where Jake was mocked when he argued that having a child might compromise their jobs which they both loved and Amy argued that getting promoted would allow her more control over her hours. And now we are at the finale and Jake's argument was completely right and in the end Jake is compromising on his professional career for Amy. There is no doubt in my mind that Jake would have wanted to continue being a detective and a father were it not for the specific circumstances. Jake choosing his family and Amy is no surprise, but I doubt that would have been his preference. On a more practical note, it is not even remotely believable that a couple with a small child living in Brooklyn can survive on a single income, even if Amy is a Chief. I am absolutely certain that the original endgame was for him to join the FBI. They introduced that idea at the beginning of season 7 for a reason. I think it got torpedoed because of the rewrite of the season arc. I like to headcanon that Jake got back to doing investigating on some level because its a shame if he isn't able to use his natural talents to use.
Anyways, the season overall isn't the home run I hoped it would be but given the circumstances, they did a pretty solid job. It isn't necessarily the season I would revisit as much on rewatch but it still delivers the heart and humor that we love from the show. A 7/10 for me. Like Jake said, goodbyes are inherently sad but the show has had a good run and I am glad its getting to go out on its own terms. I will miss this cast together and I really hope they all find success and I can follow them to other films and tv shows. So lets give it up for the cast and crew. One last time, NINE-NINE!

Love Letters
Fandom:Â Stranger Things Pairing:Â Steve Harrington x Reader Warnings:Â None Notes:Â Once again, I thank @mxgyverâ for the inspiration. It appears that weâre both suckers for mutual pining. â„
As you waved goodbye to your two best friends and left Scoops Ahoy, Robin watched Steve intently. She took note of the goofy, love-struck smile on his face, and the way he blatantly stared at your ass as you walked away, and she couldnât help but laugh.
âWhatâs so funny?â Steve asked, redirecting his attention from you to his coworker â but only after you were completely out of his line of sight, not wanting to miss a second of his opportunity to admire you.
âYouâve got it bad, Harrington,â Robin observed, still chuckling.
âI donât know what youâre talking about,â Steve said, shrugging with feigned nonchalance as he leaned against the counter.
âSure you donât,â Robin responded sarcastically, rolling her eyes. âYou need to just ask her out already.â
âWhy? Do you think sheâd say yes?â Steve asked quickly â a bit too quickly â which caused Robin to start laughing again. âHey, Iâm serious! Youâve been friends with her for way longer than I have. If anybody would know whether or not she likes me, itâd be you. So, come on, spill the beans.â
Steve wasnât wrong. You and Robin had been best friends since middle school, but you had only recently befriended Steve, after youâd both gotten wrapped up in the Demodogs / Upside Down situation last fall. And yes, she definitely knew how you felt about him â specifically the ginormous crush youâd developed on âKing Steve.â
Before now, Robin never would have pictured the two of you together. You used to be more of the nerdy type, preferring to keep to yourself and your few friends, whereas Steve was one of the most popular kids in high school. But now that she knew Steve outside of school, and from seeing how the two of you interact with one another â she thought you were the perfect pair.
âWell, obviously, I would be a terrible best friend if I were to, as you say, âspill the beans,ââ Robin began, using air quotes to reference his previous comment.
âSo there are beans to spill,â he noted, sounding excited.
Ignoring him, Robin continued, âHowever, I will say this: You remember that teddy bear you gave her earlier this year? That tiny, little red one?â
âYeah,â Steve said, smiling warmly at the memory. âShe wouldnât admit it, but she was kind of sad because nobody sent her one of those dumb, anonymous carnations on Valentineâs Day at school, and everybody else had gotten at least one. So I ditched last period to run to the store and get her something, and that bear was pretty much all they had left. It wasnât exactly what I had in mind, but she seemed to like it. Sheâs probably thrown it away by now, though.â
âShe sleeps with it every single night.â Robin watched as Steveâs eyebrows raised slightly in surprise. âAnd the carnation you got? With the little note that said âI think youâre perfectâ? That was from her.â
âWhat?!â he exclaimed, his jaw dropping. âThereâs no way! I thought â I hoped it was her, so I compared her handwriting to the note, but it didnât match!â
âThatâs because she had me write it for her, so you wouldnât know it was her.â
âWhy didnât she want me to know?â Steve asked, sadness tinting his voice. âIâd have asked her out on the spot.â
âI asked her the same thing, but she was adamant that you didnât see her that way at all. She was worried that things between you would get weird if you knew the note was from her, but she still wanted to get it off her chest in some way, even if it was in secret.â
âWow,â he murmured, staring at the ground in shock. âSheâs the smartest girl I know, but sheâs somehow so cluelessâŠ. Iâve been in love with her for months.â
âWell, Iâve said too much already, but Iâll reiterate: you need to ask her out already,â Robin stated, and Steve just nodded, lost in thought as he continued to stare blankly at the tile floor. After a couple seconds, he abruptly looked up at her, and she could practically see the lightbulb going off in his head.
âI know just the thing.â
Steve called you right when his shift ended at 4:00 PM, and asked you to come pick him up, claiming that his car wasnât running and he needed a ride home. When you got there, he was waiting for you outside the mall, having changed out of his work uniform into a sweater and jeans (and touched up his hair, of course). He jogged over to your car just as you parked, and waved for you to roll down your window.
âHey, before we go, would you mind coming in with me? Thereâs something I want to show you.â
If it had been anyone else, you might have said no, that you're tired and you'd rather just go home. But this was Steve, and he was looking at you with those big, brown puppy-dog eyes. So, you smiled and nodded at him, then got out of your car to follow him. He took a second to double-check the mall map just inside the front doors, then grabbed your hand, saying, âCome on, itâs this way.â You were really glad that he was busy navigating to wherever the hell it was he was taking you, because that meant he didnât notice how red your face got.
The fact that Steve fucking Harrington was holding your hand dazed you to the point that you werenât paying attention in the slightest as he led you through the mall. Eventually, he stopped in front of a store, which was evidently your destination. You looked up to see a sign saying âBuild-A-Bearâ atop the doorway. Steve just grinned at you, excitement written all over his face, as you raised an eyebrow at him.
âUh⊠are we at the right place?â
âYep!â he answered simply, before pulling you inside. You tried to hide your frown as he let go of your hand, before he placed his hands on your shoulders and spun you to face the wall of... what appeared to be empty stuffed animal carcases. âAlright, pick one.â
It finally clicked then: he took you here to have you make one as a gift. You turned to him with a bright smile, âReally?â
âYes, really,â he answered, mirroring your smile. âWhichever one you want.â
You spent a good ten minutes figuring out which you liked best, before deciding on a soft, dark brown bear. You told Steve that you just thought this one was the cutest, but really, it was the fact that its color reminded you of Steveâs eyes, and its fluffy fur reminded you of Steveâs hair. (And yes, youâre well aware that thatâs super cheesy.) The employee smiled kindly at the two of you as you brought the bear over to her for stuffing. She gave you the same spiel that sheâd have given a child â such as instructing you to place a kiss on the tiny felt heart before she put it in the bearâs chest, so âsheâll always know how much you love her!â Steve watched you with adoration as you followed along with all the steps, before the lady asked if youâd like to record something on their little gadget and place it in the bearâs paw, so that whenever you squeezed that spot, it would play.
âYes, yes we do,â Steve interjected, and you glanced at him. He ignored your confusion, asking the woman, âIs it okay if I borrow it for a minute? I want to record something, but I donât want my friend here to hear it just yet.â
The lady handed him the device, and he shot you a grin before holding up a finger to signal that heâd be back in one moment, then jogged outside the store. After about a minute, Steve jogged back in and returned it to the lady. You continued to look at him with a raised brow, but he ignored you, standing silently next to you as he watched the employee. She was careful to not press on the device, which would ruin Steveâs little surprise, as she placed it in the bearâs paw, then added your desired amount of stuffing to the bear with their fancy machine, sewed it up, and handed it back to you. She guided the two of you over to the register, where Steve paid for your bear, then walked with you out of the store, heading back to the parking lot.
âSo when exactly am I allowed to listen to this super secret message?â you inquired, glancing up at Steve, who just smiled slightly. Wordlessly, he took your free hand, just as he had on the way to Build-A-Bear, and you held the bear tightly to your chest with your other arm. The same blush from before crawled its way up your neck and onto your face.
âYou can in just a minute, when we get outside.â
You nodded, then cleared your throat and started speaking about the first thing that came to mind, to try and distract yourself so that the blush would fade. Unfortunately for you, what you ended up rambling about only caused you more embarrassment, and the blush worsened.
âI forgot to say it earlier, but thank you so much for getting this for me. It was an awesome surprise. This is probably kind of dumb, but I, uh⊠Iâve still got that one you gave me on Valentineâs Day. Itâs getting kind of worn out, so ââ you cut yourself off, realizing that you almost admitted to sleeping with the damn thing, which would probably sound super weird to him. âWell, I mean, itâs just sitting up on a shelf or whatever, so itâs not getting worn out, just⊠dusty. Yeah, itâs getting dusty. Um, anyway, this is a nice upgrade from that one, and I appreciate it.â
Steve chuckled as he nodded, then responded sincerely, âItâs no problem. Iâm glad you like it â and Iâm glad you kept the one from Valentineâs Day.â
He held the door open for you as you exited the mall, and headed back over to your car. The anticipation began to bubble up inside you, as you started to seriously wonder what in the world he would have said on the recording. Steve remained silent as you maneuvered through the parking lot, and both times you glanced at him, he looked almost⊠nervous? Must have been worrying about whatâs wrong with his vehicle or something, you thought. Before you could ask, youâd arrived at your car, so you quickly leaned against the hood and faced him.
âCan I listen to it now?â
Steve took a deep breath, then gave you a worry-laced smile and said, âYeah, go for it.â
You practically squealed with excitement as you held the bear in front of you and squeezed his paw, then you heard Steveâs voice through the tiny speaker.
âA little birdie told me that youâre the one who sent me that carnation on Valentineâs Day senior year. And I just wanted to say⊠I think youâre perfect, too. And I love you. Will you be my girlfriend?â
You felt your heart stop and your breath catch in your throat. You stared at the bear for a few moments, before you determined that yes, the recording had actually said that. It wasnât a figment of your imagination. Steve Harrington just said that he loves you and asked you to be his girlfriend. Holy shit. Holy shit.
âSo, umâŠâ Steve began, snapping you out of your stupor. He cleared his throat and shoved his hands in his pockets. âIf you donât feel the same way, thatâs totally fine. I mean, Valentineâs Day was months ago, so I get it if your feelings have changed or whatever. I just⊠I donât know, I wanted to give it a shot, but you donât ââ
Without even thinking, you lunged at him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him into a kiss. You poured as much warmth and passion and love into the kiss as you could, and relished in the feeling of his arms wrapping around your waist, holding you tightly against his chest. It felt like the kiss lasted for an eternity, but it still wasnât long enough before you pulled away slightly to catch your breath, and respond how you should have responded a few minutes ago, if you hadnât been stunned to silence.
âNothing has changed, Steve. I definitely still think youâre perfect. I love you too, and I want nothing more than to be your girlfriend.â
âOh, thank God,â he muttered, then let out a loud exhale. âYou got so quiet after you played the recording, I was scared shitless.â
âIâm sorry,â you said, chuckling at how visibly terrified he was. He just smiled at you.
âItâs okay. The most amazing, beautiful, intelligent, kind-hearted woman Iâve ever met is my girlfriend now, so Iâd say Iâm doing alright,â Steve quipped, then kissed you again, slower and sweeter this time. He abruptly pulled back a bit, âOh yeah, by the way, my car is fine.â
âSo this was all just a clever ruse to get me here, to Build-A-Bear?â you asked, grinning. Then a realization dawned on you. âWait, Robin told you about the note?!â
Steve burst into laughter, then nodded. âDonât be mad at her, though! She only told me about it to convince me to ask you out. Just like you with the carnation, Iâve been terrified to tell you how I feel, because I was scared to make things weird â or worse, lose you as a friend.â
âHate to break it to ya, but youâre stuck with me, Stevie,â you stated, giving him another quick kiss. Steve smiled down at you, his eyes full of adoration.
âI wouldnât have it any other way.â

it will come back [pt. 2] /// Yandere Shigaraki x f!Reader
Summary: You have a bad habit of picking up strays, and the half-dead villain you find bleeding out in a dumpster is no exception. [Part 1] [Part 3]
A/N: Title from the Hozier songââdonât let it in with no intention to keep it / jesus christ, donât be kind to it / oh honey donât feed it / it will come back.â
Tags/warnings: yandere, violence (not directed toward reader), crying, Shiggy REALLY likes you, reader needs a friend and a good nightâs sleep, non-explicit sexual content. [In later parts: 18+, sex, other stuff]
HeâTomuraâkeeps visiting.
At first you think itâs because of the free medical care, and you wish you had the spine to tell him to suck it up and go see a professional. After a couple weeks turn into a couple months and his wounds fade into ragged purple scars, though, you start to think differently.
Within a short time Tomura has figured out your work schedule, and he does a decent job of not showing up after your long shifts. The unavoidable consequence of this is that he ends up monopolizing your precious days off, but you come to the realization about a month and a half in that you donât actually mind. You like it. Itâs like spending time with a friend.
Mostly you guys talk. It doesnât seem like Tomura really has anyone to talk to the way the two of you do, but thatâs probably just you projecting. Itâs usually shallow stuffâTV shows you like, video games he plays, funny stories from patients you treated. Sometimes when youâre cooking for yourself, you make extra for him. (It happens a lot, actually, and at one point you bring up how much his appetite is costing you and the next time you see him he brings a bag of rice and makes you a porridge that crunches between your teeth when you try to eat it. You canât finish yours, but he eats an entire bowl and insists that youâre being picky.)
Sometimes he sleeps over on the couch, but heâs always gone when you wake up.
The two of you skirt around the heavier stuff, and you know itâs intentional on his part. You have to resist the urge to ask him about being a villainâheâs all but confirmed it for you, and itâs human nature to be curious, isnât it? In the same way you canât help looking at a car crash, you want to poke and prod and find out what it is, exactly, that Tomura does for a living. That part of his life is suspiciously absent from your discussionsâif you didnât know better, youâd think he spends all of his time sleeping and playing games and breaking into your place.
On the other hand, you donât want to know. Plausible deniability. You can accept criminality in the abstract, but youâve treated too many victims of the bullshit heroâvillain battle to be comfortable really knowing why Tomura avoids public places.
So you donât ask about it, and Tomura doesnât tell, and you donât look up his name. And itâs easy. Itâs nice. Youâd forgotten what itâs like to come back to a home that isnât empty.
And then one day when you get off a few hours early from your shift, you stop by a convenience store to pick up some snacks for yourself (hey, youâve been working hard, youâre entitled to binge a little on foods that youâre afraid to look at the fat content for), and you think, Hm, I wonder if Tomura wants some.
[You: 7:49 PM] > Are you coming over today? [T: 7:49 PM] > Yeah why [You: 7:51 PM] > Getting snacks > Want some? [T: 7:51 PM] > No
[T: 8:12 PM] > When r u coming back to ur place
[T: 8:58 PM] > Hey where are you
[T: 9:39 PM] > (Y/N)?
Thereâs a man with a gun in the convenience store.
It takes you a second to process at first. Youâre standing in the snack food aisle seeking out Oreos and debating the merits of Double Stuf vs. Mega when you catch the mumbled demand and the metallic clicking noise youâve only ever heard in movies before. Itâs a gunâyou know that, but your mind dismisses it because itâs ridiculous. Guns are rare in hero society. People donât go around robbing bodegas at gunpoint anymore.
(You should know better. You work in a goddamn ER. But you compartmentalize, and the crimes you see written across your patientsâ bodies stay out of the realm of your personal life because you need them to.)
Itâs only when you see the muzzle of a hunting rifle pushed up to the cashierâs sweaty neck that you really understand whatâs happening.
You drop to the ground immediately, looking toward the exit but itâs shut and thereâs some kind of metalâŠthing holding the door closed. The cashier mumbles a denial and you can hear him fumble around with the cash drawer for what feels like ages.
Itâs real. This is real. Youâre in the middle of a robbery. Where are the heroes? Why isnât anyone doing anything?
God, youâre a hypocrite, cowering behind the aisle divider and waiting for someone to step up while the robberâs demands get increasingly louder and more frantic. He wants money, and the cashier (who, you remember, is a man in his sixties with hands that shake with Parkinsonâs when he holds out your receipt) isnât being fast enough.
âThatâs it? Thereâs no more? Are you fucking kidding me, thereâs gotta be a safe or somethingââ
âNo! No, p-please, Iâm sorry, this is all I have!â
You cringe, crushing your eyes closed as if that will make it go away. Youâre surprised you can hear at all over the sound of your blood rushing in your ears.
âDonât fuck with me old man, I know thereâs more! Show me the safe or Iâll blow your goddamn brains out!â
No! You have to do something. You canât just sit here. Youâve heard plenty of death threats from your patients (not to mention that one from Tomura), and you know the difference between a bluff and a serious warning. Maybe you can catch the robber off guard, try to pull the gun away? You stand up quickly, hoping against hope that you wonât regret this, but in a split second you see that the cashier has the same idea and heâs trying to pull the rifle out of the robberâs hand andâ
BANG.
Something warm and wet splatters across your face.
///
Tomura is angry when you get back to the apartment. As soon as he hears your key in the lock he rises from your couch so he can grab your collar with three fingers, jerking your head up to force you to look at him. âWhere have you been? Do you know how long Iâve been waitingââ
But he cuts short in the middle of his sentence. Maybe because he sees the look on your face. Or maybe he just notices the traces of blood you havenât been able to wipe off.
âWhat happened,â Tomura says. Itâs not a question. He adjusts his grip slightly so itâs not quite as punishing, but you hold still anyway.
You have to force your mouth open in order to speak, but when your voice comes out itâs more steady than you thought it would be. âItâs not my blood. There was a robbery at the store. The cashier got shot.â
âOh.â He releases you and frowns. âThatâs it?â
âFuck you.â You push past him into the kitchen to get yourself a drink with trembling hands. Pantryâs out of shĆchĆ«, whiskey will just make you sickerâahh, there it is. Baijiu. The glug glug glug of the liquor into the glass does nothing to put your nerves at ease, but you pour yourself a double anyway.
âWaitâwait.â Tomuraâs hands twitch and rub over his arms like heâs trying to stop himself from grabbing you by the shoulders and shaking you. âCalm down. Why are you so upset? Donât you see this stuff every day?â
You do. Youâre an ER nurse. Thereâs no injury you havenât seen. But itâs not about the blood. âI...I knew him. The cashier. He was nice. He had a grandkid on the way. Iââ You bite your lip and down the baijiu in one gulp. It burns.
Tomura clearly doesnât know how to comfort you; probably doesnât even really know why you need to be comforted. What does it mean that death is so meaningless to him? you wonder. But you need someone to listen to you, clueless or not, and Tomura will have to do.
The baijiu is still bitter and hot down your throat when you speak again. âYou know something? Know what they asked me when the heroes finally showed up and pulled us out of there, me and the corpse?â
ââŠWhat?â Tomura asks warily.
âThey stuck a camera in my face and asked me if there was anything I wanted to say to the hero who saved me. Any words of gratitude I wanted to share,â you spit. Now itâs your turn to feel your hands making fists at your sides. Your fingernails scratch into your palms like the pain can be an outlet for the sudden overwhelming fury spilling over you. âThey didnât save him. They were too late.â
Tomuraâs eyes widen, and through your curtain of anger you can tell heâs looking at you in a way heâs never looked at you before. Itâs unlike him to even look directly at you, and when he does itâs usually in disinterest or half-sincere irritation. This, thoughâŠthis is different. Heâs watching you like a believer watches a prophet. You can tellâor at least some deep, ugly part of you that you hope is wrong can tellâthat heâs trying not to smile.
âI hate this,â you say, and the first tear drips out of your eye and runs down your cheek. Itâs awful. You donât want to cry in front of Tomura. You donât want to show him how weak you are. But before you can wipe it away, Tomuraâs hand comes up and does it for you, smearing the tear over your cheek in a gesture thatâfor himâis oddly tender.
Then he hugs you.
Itâs stiff and awkward, like heâs forgotten how to do it, but the intention is clear. His arms fold around your back, pulling you into his chest while his chin makes its way to rest on your shoulder. Heâs leaning into you so deeply that your spine is arched back, and you stagger away from him only for him to step closer again to make up the distance.
âItâs not fair, hm,â he murmurs into your hair. His tone is the closest thing to sympathy youâve ever heard from him, but thereâs an undercurrent of excitement you canât ignore. âTheyâre always too late, arenât they? The heroes⊠And everyone will watch that video of you thanking the heroes, and theyâll think theyâre safe too. Theyâll keep going about their lives and think that nothing bad can happen to them because a hero will always be around to save themâŠbut you and I know thatâs a lie.â
It takes you a second to recognize the emotion thatâs raising goosebumps over your arms while Tomura rubs circles into your back, but when it clicks you shiver because itâs fear. Youâve never really been afraid of Tomura before, even when you shouldâve been. Does he realize heâs backing you up with how forcefully heâs pushing himself into you? The backs of your knees hit the arm of your couch and you topple onto it with Tomura following.
He holds himself above you on his hands, legs tangled with yours. His eyes are wild and heâs not even trying to suppress his grin now. Youâre trapped lying on your back under himâpinned like a butterfly under glass.
âGet off of me,â you say as calmly as you can.
âItâs all a lie, all of itâŠâ A hand comes up and strokes your cheek, rubbing with two fingers at a stray fleck of blood on your neck. âIâm sorry it had to be like this, but Iâm so glad you understandâŠâ
âLet me up now, Tomura.â
He holds still for a long momentâwaiting, thinking, consideringâand then sits up, still straddling you but loosely enough that you can scramble back away from him on the couch. Your heart is racing, but you try to slow your breaths so he doesnât pick up on how scared you are.
âDonât freak out. Youâre no fun,â Tomura says, and you exhale a sigh of relief at how normal he sounds. You never thought youâd be so happy about him looking at you like youâre nothing.
âI think you should go,â you say carefully.
He rocks back on his heels and runs a hand through his hair. âAre you mad? I thought I could stay here tonight, like usual. Since I waited for so long.â
âIâm not mad. I justâŠwant to be alone.â
âI donât think itâs a good idea for you to be alone tonight. Not after what youâve been through.â
Oh, now you care. âFine. Okay? Fine. You can sleep on the couch.â Youâre too tired to argue any more, and youâve never really been good at convincing Tomura to do anything he doesnât want to. Itâs a miracle he listened to you when you told him to get off you. Considering how often he breaks into your apartment, itâs not like you could keep him out anyway.
So he stays the night. He doesnât bother you when you take a shower and go to bed, he just lies on the couch in his street clothes. When you wake up in the morning heâs disappeared like he always does, and for the first time since you met him youâre truly relieved that heâs gone.
///
You always thought it would take some level of courage you donât possess to actually bite the bullet and look Tomura up. To do so would mean saying goodbye to whatever strange relationship the two of you have built over the months, and youâre just not brave enough to risk it.
Turns out itâs not courage that makes you type his name into the search bar. Itâs cowardice. Youâre lying in bed under the covers when you do it, and the blue-white screen of your laptop is the only light in the room. Your comforter is pulled up almost over your head like itâs a wall that can block out reality.
âtomuraâ, you enter into the search bar, but you donât hit return. Instead, you look at the search suggestions.
> tomura shigaraki > tomura shigaraki league of villains > tomura shigaraki decay
Something about it sounds familiar. But youâre not ready. Still, after everything, youâd rather keep your eyes closed. You backspace and snap your laptop shut, and when you do your room is so dark that you think the emptiness might swallow you up.

Youâre nervous about seeing him, but in the two weeks since he pushed you down on the couch youâve found yourselfâŠmissing him. Like it or not, heâs made himself a fixture in your life. So when you get home youâre brimming with anticipation, wondering who youâll get when you open the doorâthe normal Tomura youâve come to like over the past few months, or the one from that night. The villain.
But itâs just him. Good old Tomura, laden with plastic bags and containers of greasy fast food for the two of you to gorge yourselves on. You tease him for being cheap and he argues that youâre just a snob and everything seems so normal that you can almost forget the look in his red eyes when he told you that you understood.
Almost.
///
You probably have no idea how good you look when youâre crying.
Of the couple thousand views on the news channel video of your ârescueâ from the convenience store robber, at least a tenth are from Tomura. Eventually he just downloads the video onto his computer so he doesnât have to read the inane comments that the other viewers leave on the webpage. It seems like everyone but him thinks you should feel lucky that you were saved by a hero before the robber could get to you, too.
As always, the public are a bunch of shit-soaked morons. Reading the comments makes him angry, so angry heâs tempted to look into a few of these brainless sheep and see how lucky they feel when theyâve caught the attention of a violent criminal. But that wouldnât be productive, so he saves the video externally and leaves the news website alone. Itâs for the best. Besides, seeing the âviewsâ counter on the website tick up and up by the dozen every time he refreshes is just another reminder that other people are watching this; other people are seeing how delicate and vulnerable and pretty you are with tears spilling out of your eyes and the cashierâs blood sprayed over your clothing.
Thousands of useless fucking NPCs are looking at you just like Tomura is. Theyâre probably thinking about how sweet you look, just like he is. And theyâre probably imagining all the ways they can take advantage of your fragile emotional state, just like him.
Youâre too trusting for your own good. Tomura used to think it was a virtue, and it is, but only when it comes to him. Whenever he thinks about how your face is slapped over a dozen different news websites for the whole world to see, he has to dig his fingernails into his neck to keep calm. Itâs better when he can just watch the video and pretend heâs the only one seeing it.
And itâs not like not watching the video is an option. Tomura canât resist your crying face. Thereâs a point around the three minute mark where your voice breaks in the middle of your statement, and sometimes Tomura skips there in the video just so he can hear that pathetic little sob and replay it over and over and over. Maybe itâs sappy, but Tomura really does feel his heart skip a beat at the way your eyes and nose are rubbed red from your misery.
How fucked up is it that he gets off watching you cry?
Would you be angry if you knew? You probably would, but you put up with so much from him already. Maybe youâd be okay with it if he told you he really and truly tried to hold out. The first dozen times Tomura watched the video, he refused to touch himself no matter how tight his pants got while you choked out your stilted answers to the reportersâ questions, but at this point he barely has to click âplayâ on the video before he gets hard and takes matters into his own hands.
At the end of the day, itâs your fault. Everything about you is so erotic, from your shaky voice to your pouty, bitten-red lips. Isnât it completely normal to be aroused while looking at the person you like? And Tomura likes you, he really likes you. He doesnât have any pictures of you, and with the high definition of the news channelâs video he can see every perfect contour of your cheekbones, every pore in your skin, every glistening wet eyelash.
Itâs not that Tomura doesnât feel sympathy for how upset you are in the video. He does! Not even just sympathy, evenâheâs empathetic. He knows exactly how it feels to be let down by the heroes. How dare they tell you you need to be grateful while youâre still trying to wipe brain matter off your shirt? Always too little, too late. Itâs not fair.
But if heâs being honest? As miserable as you are, Tomura is happy that you were in the store when that robber came in and that you had to watch a man you knew get his brains blown out in front of you. You need a wake-up call to lose faith in hero society. If you have to suffer some emotional trauma in the process, that seems like a fair price to pay.
And the fact that Tomura gets to jerk off to it? Itâs almost like destiny.

Strawberry Madeleine
Tsurugi used to use Mikuniâs old uniform as pajamas.Â
Heâs aware of how pathetic it is. How it sounds. How it probably would have been more subtle to shout that he missed him through a megaphone, for all of Tokyo to hear.
Of course, it doesnât smell like his old roommate anymore. It hasnât for a long time, especially not after having been washed and given to Mahiru to run around in for a whole week, over a year ago now. Especially not after it needed to be bleached, and deep cleaned, because of all the blood and dirt and dust that had been practically ground into the white fibers.Â
Frankly, itâs a miracle that old thing is still around.
He never expected to get it back, but he did, and heâs only a little ashamed to admit that he held it the same way someone would hold a cherished stuffed toy, inhaling the smell of fabric softener chosen with Kuroâs delicate skin in mind. He had called himself creepy, and Yumikage⊠Had flicked his forehead. Called him an idiot.
The way he had explained it, it made such perfect sense.Â
Mikuni... Was a familiar pain, like a bruise that never quite faded and you press your fingers to it just to remind yourself youâve been hurt.
Yumikage, Junichiro, Freya, Mahiru, and Kuro are a comfort he never thought he deserved, and that old uniform, one of the only few possessions of his that had survived, the new softness of it and the new smell, are proof that whether he deserves them or not⊠They are his.
Anyone would cherish that, wouldnât they?
***
One day his phone lights up in the evening twilight.
âI made too much. That offer to join us for dinner is still valid âïžâ
Attached is a picture of a simmering pot of curry that makes his mouth water so much he nearly drools all down his front. Thereâs something familiar about it he canât quite place, but itâs easily ignored and Tsurugi wipes his mouth on the back of his hand, thumbs flying eagerly over the screen.
âIâll be there in ten minutes ââ he replies, then, after adjusting his course accordingly, practically skips off down the sidewalk.
Two minutes from his destination, his phone buzzes again.
âI left the door unlocked for you. Come right in!â
Tsurugi... Tries really hard not to cry in the middle of the street as words half remembered while his soul was tangled with Mahiruâs filter back to him.
If the window is shut, we'll just go through the door.
***
Sometimes Tsurugi goes to Mahiruâs house to play.
Itâs a childish way to put it, like theyâre both in elementary school and heâs showing up at the front door to ask his friendâs uncle if Mahiru is home, but itâs also the only proper way to describe it, because he is playing.
Heâs free now, or about as free as he can be with those debts looming over his head, and he wants to play. Kuro, meanwhile, wants to show him lots of different games, so if he has a day off, and the both of them are available⊠To the Shirota apartment he goes.
Itâs always a mess.
Not the apartment, no, never the apartment. He doesnât think even C3, with its white walls and white floors and white sheets and everything, everything, white, was even half so clean as that little apartment where three people lived.
Whatâs always a mess is himself.
This time, though⊠Itâs Mahiru.
***
Tsurugi knows heâs a messy person. Tsurugi knows heâs not very good at cleaning up, though he often tries. Itâs overwhelming though, sometimes, looking at it all, all the trash and garbage that had accumulated, all the things he didnât need anymore, didnât want, and maybe part of the problem was that his mind hardly ever stayed âadultâ long enough to make any real headway.
Itâs not like anyone went into his room to begin with, anyway, so why bother?
Mahiru, though, is different from him. Mahiru likes to clean up as he goes, so he supposes it shouldnât be a shock that he gets frustrated with him and with Kuro, who have their little area in front of the TV set up with snacks, and drinks, and piles and piles of games to try out, and a third controller for Mahiru because sometimes instead of watching, Mahiru will join them, tempted by their cajoling and whining and Tsurugiâs bright, high pitched yelps.
This is not one of those times.
This is a time when Mahiru got frustrated and stormed off, and⊠Well, Tsurugi isnât quite sure what to do.
A single look at Kuro shows he doesnât either, wide eyes watching the hall his Eve disappeared down and slowly the umaibo he had been munching on disappears into his mouth.
âShould we⊠Clean up?â Tsurugi asks, hesitant. Their characters on screen continue to idle, the timer ticking down. Kuro hits pause. Stands, stretches, cracks his back and Tsurugi canât help but wince because that canât be healthyâŠ
â...Yeah,â the Servamp finally says, and bends down with a muffled groan to start gathering chip bags and drink containers. âItâll give him time to cool down.â
âDoes this happen often?â Tsurugi stands, too, and casts his eyes about for something to pick up, but there really wasnât much. Kuroâs already got it handled.Â
It makes him feel just a little useless.
He was a grown up, wasnât he? ⊠Wasnât he?
***
Giving Mahiru space to calm down seems to have been the right choice, because when they find him, curled up on his bed and looking just the slightest bit ashamed of his outburst, he looks ready to apologize at any moment.
But Tsurugi doesnât want an apology.
He wants Mahiru to come play with them.
So he speaks first, apologizes, sincerely, and promises that he and Kuro will clean up after themselves properly, but when they are done.
âYou donât need to keep everything nice and neat all the time, yâknow. Part of being a grown up is knowing when itâs time to play and when itâs time to put your toys up.â
Mahiru makes a face at him, buries his chin deeper into his knees. âTsurugi-san, no offense, but I donât wanna hear that from you of all people.â
âOuch, haha.â He sits, plopping down gracelessly next to the still pouting teen, making him bounce and emit a startled noise, and Kuro shuffles forward, slides down on Mahiruâs other side. â...Youâre right, though. I never really learned how to clean up and put my things away all nice and neat like you do. No one ever taught me.â
Mahiru shifts, glances at him curiously. Having seen Tsurugiâs room at C3, he definitely believes it.Â
â...I guess,â he starts, slow and picking his words carefully. Kuro makes an encouraging noise beside him. âBecause I never really felt like the apartment was âmine,â I always ended up cleaning after every little activity. Because having it be messy... Made it feel more lived in than it was.â
â... Mm. Thatâs exactly it. The illusion of company...â A self deprecating little chuckle. âGuess we both learned to handle that feeling in different ways. If Kuro-chan and I make a mess, we... Might need your help to clean it up properly. But... Can you trust us to clean up when weâre done?â
â... I can try.â
âGood!â
Kuro finally speaks up, because this was a conversation for them, not him. But the moment has passed, and it feels safe to say something a little stupid, a little funny. âWeâre serious about the needing your help on how itâs done, thing.âÂ
âUgh, I believe you. Tsurugi-san, one time I put this guy in charge of loading up the washing machine and you know what happened?â
âWait, Mahi, noââ
âOhh, do tell~!â
âBubbles. Bubbles, everywhere. My downstairs neighbor had no idea where all the suds dripping onto her balcony were coming from!â
âPfffhahaha! Kuro-chan, seriously?! There are directions on the box!â
âAnd I followed them. Our washer is small, though, so it was too much...â
Kamiya Tsurugi was an adult.
Shirota Mahiru was a kid.
But, if they could teach each other the things they had missed out onâŠ
Perhaps it was all for that reason, huh...
Tsurugi wonders if Mahiru will be able to make good on that promise for a cake this year.
***
The end of August comes again, and, just like he had hoped, Mahiru bakes him a cake. Covered in glistening, sweet strawberries, with loads of white, sweet cream, itâs almost too much, especially when paired with how Freya and Iduna had come by, are each sitting in Yumikageâs living room while Freyaâs subclass play some noisy game with Takuto.
Some part of him didnât think Mahiru would really do it. But not only did he keep his promise, heâs pressing a wrapped gift into his hand, a small one that rattles when it moves, this grin on his face as Tsurugi turns it over in his hands, this perfectly wrapped gift with yellow paper and citrus themed washi tape keeping it together. Mahiruâs Servamp lingers back, a noisemaker hanging unenthusiastically from between his lips. And yet, despite his carefully practiced indifference, thereâs no denying that Kuro is also eager, just as eager as his Eve.
âGo on. Open it.â
So he does. Itâs... A cellphone charm. â...Cinnamoroll...?â
Mahiru beams at him and shows off his own phone. Tsurugi snorts, a smile cracking at the sight of the Pompompurin character charm that dangles merrily from it.
âHowâd you know my favorite~?â
âI asked around~â
âThank you, Mahiru-kun,â Tsurugi answers him, feeling his throat close up, just the slightest bit. His eyes sting, and he holds that little charm close to his chest. âI love it.â
It's such a small gift. A tiny one, one perfectly suited to a high schoolerâs budget, but it means so much.Â
Because it didn't have to be given.
Mahiru takes his wrist and leads him back to the core of the party, where they are all immediately mobbed by Tsurugiâs own homegrown family.
Vampires, magicians, humans. Adults, children, immortals.
People his own age. People who arenât.
Tsurugi is loved.
Heâs happy he was born.

hq boys as your tutor (subjects specified)
genre: short fluffs
characters: chikara ennoshita, tsukishima kei, tetsurou kurooÂ
synopsis: you're not doing so well in a certain subject, and the boys help you out.
a/n: henlo! i'm fairly new to writing fanfics here, so please be kind! this was inspired from a routine conversation i had with my friends after watching the third ep of the new season muehehe i dedicate this first post to those two uwa!
warnings: noneÂ
âTsukishima Kei | math, probably
during the first few tutoring sessions, tsukki holds a serious disposition. he's there as your tutor and nothing more; he won't come earlier than expected and won't stay any longer than he needs to you unless you need him to.
but after your many attempts to lighten him up, he'll begin to ease around you, but not enough to become as a distraction. he'll ask you how your day went before you start the session, and he'll ask you how you're feeling after it.
you're fully aware how unapologetically mean tsukki can be, but unlike when he's tutoring kageyama and hinata, heâs tad nicer to you. because he's not entirely close with you, he holds back. he knows full well it'll only hurt yourself esteem if he comments on your inability to get the answer right away.
to your surprise, when you get something wrong after a few tries, he won't groan in frustration or visibly show his irritation. he'll keep it to himself because he knows it'll only make you feel small. so, instead, he'll swallow his urge to comment and patiently explains once more.
he won't praise you when you finally get an answer right, but he'll say things like "good job" or "well, that was better than last time."
bonus: when you pass a test or at the very least, get past your own personal best, heâll buy you bread and milk from the near by bakery as a reward.Â
"I'm sorry," You sigh, dropping your pencil to the side before burying your head into your hands. Its your fifth attempt at the equation, and Tsukki's sixth attempt to explain it to you.
You swallow thickly, bracing for the impact of Tsukki's string of cruel words he's probably been preparing for this exact moment. But to your surprise, you feel a light tug on the cuff of your jacket and you raise your head to find Tsukki as still as the air around you.
"You don't need to be sorry," He assures, shifting in his spot on the floor beside you to move a little closer. "You needed a tutor for a reason." With the right tone, it would've probably sounded condescending. Though his expressionâs blank, you can clearly hear the sincerity in his voice.
"I'm probably the dumbest one you've taught by far." You joke, laughing at yourself as you ruffle your hair in frustration.Â
"Oh, trust me," He Tsukki says, smirking as he rolls his eyes, "there's a couple of idiots I know who'd wish you were the dumbest one I've taught."
You squint your eyes, puzzled because you didn't quite catch what he said. You aren't sure if it was an indirect pass to mock you or if it was a failed try at a compliment.
âChikara Ennoshita | idk but i imagine english
to no surprise, he's extremely patient and would cheer you up every time you got frustrated trying to pronounce the words properly. he'd encourage you to take as much time as you need; and for every apology, he'd simply smile and tell you not to be.
though, he'd give you a displeased look every time you'd call yourself dumb or say you want to give up because you can't pick it up fast enough.
he has really pretty, organized notes, so its easier for you to read it as a reference from time to time.
when he notices you feeling a bit off before a session, he'll give you day off and try to do something fun instead. to him, mental health is more important than academics.
You sink deep into your thoughts as you are in your seat.
Heavy is your head that holds the most thoughts.
You take a breath, trying to ease yourself before Ennoshita arrives, but if anything, you feel like crying.
Today had been trying every last inch of your kindness and patience. From your parents' early morning nagging about your grades to a petty, miscalculated fight with your best friend. In hind sight, it probably wasn't much to cry over, but you were overworked and ready to collapse.
You're even too tired to notice Ennoshita sitting on the edge of the table, waving his hand over your face to get your attention. You offer him a small, faltering smile that he doesn't buy.
"You know what," Ennoshita pushes himself off the table before kneeling beside you. You and your thoughts finally gravitate back to earth; and shift from your lazed posture to look down at the bubbling boy before you, "How about we cancel today's tutoring session and do something else?"
You tilt your head, knitting your brows. "I don't follow..."
Ennoshita clears his throat and moves a little closer to you, âI think itâll only be counter productive if your thoughts are else where...How can I possible teach you if youâre not entire here?âÂ
âIâm sorry,â You apologize, sighing. The weight of your own body growing heavier than your heart and your mind the longer the conversation continues on. âIâll be more present.âÂ
He raises his hand, shaking his head. When he says your name in a whisper, you feel a release of tension on your chest, âWeâre not studying today,â He clarifies, âLetâs going somewhere--do something fun. And if you want, you can tell me whatâs bringing you down.â
"But I need to study."
"But if you do study, it'll only be disappointing for you because you won't be able to retain a single thing." He lightly taps your forehead, making you flinch. "So, will you do me the honor of taking my hand and trust me?"
Youâre hesitant, but excitement twinges in your chest at the thought of doing something in the spur of the moment causes you take his hand anyway. âMy mental health is in your hands, Ennoshita-san.âÂ
âTetsuro Kuroo | science (of course)
it'll amaze you how great he is at teaching. he uses layman terms to help you understand in a way that'll make you forget you're even learning. heâs laid back and he'll treat you like you're close even when you're not just to get you comfortable around him.
he's attentive, so he keeps a mental note of what works for you and what doesn't when he first begins tutoring you. he'll adjust to you and your pace, making sure never to push you too far.
he'll crack jokes in the middle of teaching you a formula just to ease the tension. sometimes he'll even play some music in the background. (to be funny, he'll even play the periodic table song.)
when he realizes the silence of the library doesn't help you focus, he changes the next meeting place. he'll try different places; the cafe, the nearby ramen house, and even at the park. but he'll eventually come to the decision to bring you to his house. there's barely any noise, but it isn't silent enough to have you bouncing your leg.
bonus: he'll become your personal cheerleader whether if its just the two of you studying, or when you're about to take a test.Â
"Can you dumb it down for me?" You ask, laughing at your inability to become a sponge, throwing your head back. "Maybe we can skip this parâ"
"Ohh no," Kuroo protests, shaking his head, "I believe in you! I'll explain it one more time, and if you don't get it, then we'll take a brain break. How's that sound?"
You grimace, not too keen on the idea. "We can take a brain break now."
"No." He deadpans. "Take a deep breathâ" Kuroo inhales, raising his arms towards the ceiling before bring it down to the floor and letting go of all the air in his lungs, "and then exhale."
"Your breath smells bad." You joke, crinkling your nose as you pretend to wave off the fake stench of his breath.
He looks at you in shock, hurt faintly etched in the outlines of his face. He brings his hand close to his mouth, checking his breath and you laugh, earning a glare from him.
"If you have time to crack a joke, you have time review."
You frown, but eventually give into him. "Fine, fine."
He claps his hands before rubbing them together. "Okay, lemme explain it again."Â

mistletoe. {pt.1}
synopsis:Â A little joke on Giyuu, making gingerbread cookies with Edward and a date with Ryouta.
# tags: scenarios; christmas!au; current relationships; romance; fluff; sfw
includes:Â female reader ft. giyuu tomioka {kny} + edward elric {fma} + ryouta kise {knb}
part two {click}
authorâs note: for @yvsevieâ, my precious smol baby. i love you.
â GIYUU
It was the first Christmas you spent as Pillar, as Giyuuâs girlfriend, and as teacher of your first and also last tsuguko. You didnât mind spending Christmas like this; frankly, could anyone think of feasting at the moment when bloodthirsty demons and other strange creatures were running around each villages or towns? Thatâs why you spent your time training in your estate with a young boy who would replace your Ice Pillar position in a few next days, weeks, months or years.
â... We should take a short break, right?â You asked, seeing your successor breathing harder and harder. âIâll go get something to drink and you can sit on the engawa.â You put your katana into its scabbard and then headed towards your home. However, when you entered the small kitchen, you chuckled at the sight of Giyuu who was sitting at the table, drinking his coffee as if he were at his own home. âWell, hello. Why didnât you say âHiâ to me earlier?â You asked, taking out two glasses.
âYou were training, so I didnât want to disturb both of you.â He replied calmly, setting the black mug on the wooden table. âAre you two finished yet?â
âWeâre taking a break.â You poured cool water and then you stood in front of your dark-haired lover. âYou would like to sit with us?â
âYes, why not.â He smiled gently, then walked with you towards the entrance to the pretty, snowy garden.
When you got outside, however, your frowned as you determined that your heir wasnât in the garden. Instead of his light blue haori and long blonde hair always pinned up in a ponytail, you noticed a little, white note. So, you picked it up quickly and read the content on the paper:
âSorry, sensei! I forgot that I had to help my mom bake a cake for Christmas! So see you tomorrow.
PS. Look up :Dâ
You frowned, and when you looked up at the wooden roof of your engawa, your cheeks automatically flushed a bit at the sight of a small sprig of mistletoe attached to a wooden beam with a thin string. Giyuu glanced at the same place, and seeing the little plant, he only smiled slightly under his breath.
âYour successor is quite funny, donât you think?â
âYes. It is true. He will replace me very well.â You giggled, letting your mouth taste the flavor of coffee and something sweet that you couldnât identify at first.
Nevertheless, this little joke made you feel the magic of Christmas, despite the lack of a Christmas tree or gifts, and you were incredibly grateful to your beloved student for that.
â EDWARD
â... Edward! Stop throwing flour at me!â You looked imploringly at your fiancĂ©, and he just giggled as he looked away at the huge, metal bowl in which he mixed hot water with powdered sugar to make frosting to decorate your cookies. You sighed softly under your breath, then returned to kneading another dough with your hands. After a while, however, you felt the white dust, commonly known as flour spread around you one more time. âE-Ed! Please!â
âSorry, sorry!â
âDo it again and I swear youâll sleep naked outside.â You spoke in a serious tone of voice, even though both of you knew you would never let him freeze to death, much less during the holidays, even more the first holidays that were supposed to be full of guests.
Alphonse and Mei with the smol panda were to appear! Also Roy with Rize and dear major Armstrong. Of course, Winry with her boyfriend, her grandmother and their cute dog were also invited. Gracia with Elicia cannot be forgotten. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis too and even Ling Yao with Lan Fan as well. There were supposed to be many of your loved ones, so you had to make just as many food, cakes and cookies. And Edward didnât make it easy for you, because instead of helping you, he was throwing flour, sugar, cocoa and edible, colorful sprinkles or glitter at you.
Like for example now; once again you felt something hit your head and it turned out it was a handkerchief, rolled in a small but quite hard ball. So, your hands slowly backed away, then you wiped them on your red apron and you turned just as slowly towards your boyfriend, smiling at him as if you were telling him you were going to break his neck or crush his long legs. Edward, however, only chuckled and then walked closer to you with the same dumb smile he always had on his lips when he knew he had done something silly but funny.
âSweetheart, donât be upset. Christmas isnât the time to fight! Better look up, my pretty angel.â His broad smirk made you sigh again loudly and loosen your tense arms. Nevertheless, you looked up and the first thing you saw was Edwardâs hand holding a small twig of green mistletoe. You glanced at him again, laughing to yourself.
âHow old are you to still play this?â You rolled your both eyes and was about to go back to your dark dough, but the blonde man grabbed your waist and pulled your body much closer to his more muscular one. He placed a tender, quite long kiss on your lips, and when the caress was over, Edward rested his forehead against yours.
âIâm old enough to still giving you stupid reasons to keep kissing me.â
â RYOUTA
âItâs... Itâs so beautiful here.â You whispered under your breath as you looked around. âW-Woah. I...â
Kise took you for a ride in his car, however, two minutes ago he parked the car on the side of the road and then grabbed your smaller than his hand saying he had a little âsurpriseâ for you. Of course you went with him and it turned out to be a breathtaking view of the city, all lit up with colorful lights and sweet decorations. It was also snowing a bit so everything looked even more magical. You were incredibly surprised, of course most positively.
Thatâs why you turned to smile at the blonde-haired young man, and he only returned your facial expression, but then coughing delicately so that you would open the shiny eyes you closed a few seconds ago.
âYou have a gorgeous smile and I love it the most in the world, but I think...â He started quietly, suddenly taking something green from his coat pocket. After a second it turned out to be mistletoe. You chuckled under your nose and your loved one looked at your flushed face again. âI think I deserve more, princess. All the more so because itâs Christmas day... You know.â He said in an amused, but still gentle and emotional voice, at which you only giggled again, standing on the tips of your toes or rather your shoes, to be able to reach his pretty face, and more precisely to his lips which tasted of coffee and chocolate-nut cake.
The kiss was slow, but very warm, and although your lips were cold due to the temperature outside, this peck gave the two of you a lot of heat on your hearts and cheeks. You even smirked during this wonderful caress, grabbing the boy by his soft, pale skin. The fabric of your wool gloves tickled Kise a little, but he didnât pay much attention to it; instead, he kissed you once more, but this time on the nose that was red from the cold, and on the forehead, covered in the material of the cap, perfectly matching your gray gloves.
â... Thanks for showing me this, Ryouta. Itâs really, really amazing.â You whispered, glancing once again at the colorful and white lights that decorated your whole city, including all the trees, buildings and houses. âI didnât expect to see something like this in my life.â
âThen get used to it, because next year Iâm going to take you to many other equally cool places.â The sincere tone of his smooth voice, and another short kiss on the cheek, made you cuddle closer to the side of his massive body.
In meantime, you still watched the magnificent sights and thought about where you both should go next time.
